GM: Posh
Players: Abel, Blackheart, Cain, Feather Lost, Luck, Oz, Posh
Synopsis: Posh wants to do a favor for Knight Errant to try to clear the heat there on her and her friends Wanton, Luck, and Blackheart, so she gets a team together and buys info from her fixer about any potential cop killers. She manages to get ahold of a good something, plus information that he might be dabbling in fueling his adept powers with murder in the Warrens - the Tainted Way. The team gets together, figures out that they can turn him into Draco and get them to liase with Knight Errant, and they assault Richard Day, an Ares employee who'd been 'rescued' after murdering a couple of his friends when he was working for Knight Errant. Finding evidence of the corrupt cop's misdeeds will surely help them out - and this turned out to be an easy job, despite tough enemies, given the size of the team brought. Friends are powerful.

Posh had sent a message to each of the team members to come meet them at the temporary HQ of the Omens. Oz gets a message that she's got a job and that she's working with the team. Feather gets a message saying that she's got a chance for 'you to make up for your stunt the other day, Miss Motorcycle.' Lost, Cain and Abel get informed that there's a chance to perhaps gain some sort of 'juju plunder,' as she puts it, while Blackheart, rather cryptically, gets informed that this is to 'tie up some loose ends.'
«Plot» Oz says, "Also, consented!"
Posh has taken the chance to set out a case of chilled synthetic brew and a pitcher of cheap equally synthetic sangria, and has set it out on a big card table that she's put in the middle of the suburban bunker behind the ten foot privacy wall that the Omens live on on Macarthur Road in the Keeps.
"Dammit, Posh, this is fibreoptic hair, it doesn't have split ends, I bought it this way!" Blackheart's talking on her flip phone as she gets to the HQ. With a sigh and a shake of her head, she walks in, carrying a small bag of groceries for the planning session. A six pack of cheap beer, some pretzels and a bag of imitation store brand oreos for those with sweet tooths. "Oh, you beat me to the snacks," she smiles as she gets settled in.
Abel and his brother have been here for a few minutes. Abel himself is sitting at the table with his phone out, lazily texting away. He doesn't partake of any of the Sangria. He has on his usual greatcoat, flatcap and jeans. A duffelbag is sitting beneath his seat as he waits patiently.
Apparently having met up with Miss Motorcycle earlier, Lost arrives along with the girl in motorcycle armor, offering a wave and a bright smile to all those gathered within the house in the Keeps, "Hey all." She greets, eyeing the synth brew and the sangria for a moment before opting for the former, twisting off the cap and taking a quick swig before settling into a seat, "So, juju plunder, huh?" She asks, setting a slight smirk on Posh, "That's a phrase I simply can't ignore."
Feather and Lost seem to arrive fairly quickly. They might have gotten there a little soner, but Feather passed on the 1000cc version. She's either bold and skilled or a little stupid, perhaps both, to ride a motorcycle in these conditions, but she's here nonetheless. Feather enters with her helmet still on, and she doesn't bother to remove it. Nor does she approach the group, instead leaning against a wall on the periphery of the room. Her only words, it seems, are for Posh. "I'm not here as penance, but I will cooperate. I assume I'm getting paid." And that's it. For those who hear her, her English is fluent but with a thick Chinese accent.

"Apt."
Comes a barritone voice from the back, as from his room stumbles - an orc! The tusker takes a moment to unbutton that right sleeve and fold it back, quietly exposing the nasty, barbed hook that was his hand as he glances across all the new 'friends' Posh has brought into the parlor. He shifts his jaw, briefly tonguing a broken tusk before smiling in a manner that twists up the scars on his face. "Juju plunder?" He glances aside to Posh, a silent question on a raised eyebrow.
"You assume wrong," says Posh to Feather. "You dropped yourself in the shit yesterday, young lady, and so you're going to do me and Lost a favor, and help me take care of what I need and help her help herself to this cop-killer's magical stash, whatever it is," she says, looking directly to Feather, but then at the others, with a smile. "So," she says. "I've managed to buy good package of information from Les, who's gone with some of the, heh, MacArthur Street Irregulars. Which I'd suggest as a name change for the Omens, if Oz wouldn't take the hook to me," she says, with a grin.
"So. Any of you heard of Richard Day?" she asks. "He works as a troubleshooter for a local Ares-affiliated outfit," she says. "Ares apparently hired him out of Knight Errant after he beat the rap in a big show trial where he set up and murdered one of his comrades. Knight Errant was going to pin him to the wall in public as an example and throw him away forever, but the local Ares VP dispached a team of lawyers to snarl things up. Seemed like they were very curious in his particular talents and wanted to foster them," she says, with a little frown. "Anyway, these days he runs sort of a kind of…dojo for Ares adepts," she says. "It's near the Warrens…not quite in it. So that means we can't expect to be completely free of polie response. I guess that means no assault rifles. SMGs on burst at the most - gotta at least sound like we could just be gangers with Uzi IIIs," says Posh. "So here's why we'd go after a guy like this. Knight Errant can't touch him, but they'd love this guy taken down," she says. "These days, he's working for Ares, but there are some pretty dark rumors about this fucker," she says.
The matching set to Abel is Cain, though he has no hat and instead has sunglasses. The Twin has a bit of a dubious expression to his face, as he looks around the room at the many compatriots that have been assembled for this run. But its to Posh his attention goes as she details the mission, and he just nods once, continuing to listen.
Blackheart smiles to those she knows. She's just popping open a can of beer and about to begin chit chatting when Posh breaks in with the brief. She listens closely as she sips her low cost high impact malt liquor and nods her head, "Do you have pictures of his dojo? What kind of a set up we're going into?" She's been practicing her elite close combat skills lately and is kind of eager to test them in combat.
Abel fires off one last text before slipping his pocsec away out of sight, leaning back in his seat as he looks around at the other runners as Posh gives out the mission details. Near the very end he asks, "So, putting all the politics aside; we are going in to kill this guy and steal all his shit? And there will likely be multiple Adepts on site?"
"How is it that these sort of slimeballs always end up with powerful friends backing them?" Lost laments, a slight frown on her lips before she heaves a resigned sigh, "Anyway, I imagine this guy is training people to be as ruthless and murderous as he is? How lovely…" She settles back in her seat, sweeping a lock of hair from her eyes as she purses her lips in thought. "Anyway, from what you're saying, sounds to me like the world would be a better place without this asshole, regardless of whatever sort of juju plunder we might be able to, uh, liberate from him." She seems to think both Blackheart and Abel raise good questions, turning to Posh and waiting for a response, taking the opportunity to wave and smile to Cain, Abel, and Blackheart in greeting, dipping her head politely to Oz.
Posh nods. "We've got the location too. That's the advantage of going after someone on the grid. It's easy to find people. The hard part is to not get caught," says Posh, punching up the address and showing it on the humble trid display on one wall of the room. "Now. I don't want to kill this guy. Ares doesn't let their people get just offed," she says, with a nod. "Yeah. This is a serious bad cat," Posh says.
Feather waits, letting Posh say what she has to say. "I don't answer to you, gwailo," she says quietly, in her usual wonderful tone of voice, empty of emotion save for the everpresent tinge of hostility. "I will cooperate, as I said, but for my own reasons." It's not really clear whether that's just random passive aggressive faux defiance, or if she means it.
"Before you discuss the details of the operation, do you have a map of the target area? I would like to see it as you speak."
Abel nods. "Alright then. Not kill him. So what is the actual mission then?" The teen does give a small wave to Lost in return, but mostly seemes focused on the mission itself.
Posh nods. "I do," she says, pulling up a map. It's in a D zone in the UCAS sector, apparently, out by the highway. Since Denver's now a corporate megacity, even here there are lots of two and three story buildings; out here is a lot of office parks, testing centers, call centers, that sort of thing. There's little police response, but most of the facilities have 'local' private security - that is, a sort of local force that can't be reinforced easily except by police. Rather like the Keeps themselves, in fact, come to think of it. In any case, Day's Dojo and Adept Academy takes up the entirety of one of the town-house like urban sprawl buildings, apparently three stories with an entrance in the front and in the back, as well as access from the roof, connected via neighboring buildings. Going on the roofs can be risky, as what security there is up on roof level is done by passing by smart autogun systems. Policing the street seems hard here, but roof level? Pretty brutally, at least.
There are a number of alleyways that connect the streets, and some residential sectors in the area, but this is good old D level, kept profitable through attrition and the prevention of real violence to allow business to happen, rather than true guaranteed security like a higher level zone.
Magical security seems to be not locally enforced, unless there's a major magical threat detected, then there will be one with the SWAT team. Of course, attacking an adept academy and dojo will likely have its own threats.
The street itself is a regular urban two lane, with a sort of service alley that the back entrance of the little three-story is connected to. The building itself has a sort of dojo on the ground floor and a stairway up the back, and then there are various offices and such on the upper two levels, as well as a Director's Office on the top floor.
Oz flashes that broken toothed grin for Cain as the smoother nods to him. An oddly jubilant expression for an ork who looks like he was put into a blender, with all the carves and cuts. He then goes to scratching at his own neck with the razored point, with a soft sandpaper sound. Skrtch, skrtch, skrtch, as he listens to the explanation. At last, he smirks before speaking.
"The Omens is named by the egrandi, cerri. It is not my place to change it until she returns." A pause, as he gestures towards the map. "This is a lot of work - for a man who will not die." A glance towards Posh, and the group of strangers. ".. I have some ideas, ah? The weakest part of any security is the flesh." A wink. "But - is it only the man we seek, or more? This is a very dangerous way to bring an end to one man rather than bring the man to his end."
Feather quietly walks over to where Posh is standing, rolling up her sleeve. Looks like she has a touch-screen wrist computer on the underside of her left arm. A wound optical data cable is streamed to the trid, and she spends a few moments downloading the map before letting the cable retract, walking back to her previous spot. There she starts to slide her finger around the computer, apparently checking the map in more detail. Except her computer's screen is dark, so she's probably looking at things either through a helmet HUD or image link.
Eventually, her head turns toward Oz. "I would agree. If he's so dangerous, wouldn't it be more of a risk leaving him alive after offending him? I'm interested to hear your ideas."
Abel looks over the map and nods his head before murmuring to his brother, "Likely not a good idea to be using any magic on this. Going after a place like this? Ares would have a wagemage come down and look things over and we can't clean it. I'd say we stick to our guns so we don't have SWAT kicking down our door later," he says in a soft tone. "And we still don't know what we are actually going to do. Is this a kidnapping? Theft? We have a target, location and a history lesson but still no goal."
"I would agree that killing an Ares employee would not be the most prudent course of action…" Lost notes, nodding a few times, "So, I suppose the goal is to incapacitate him somehow and keep whatever students or security might be in the dojo occupied long enough to rip him off before a quick extract. That about right?" She asks, tilting her head, "Does he only teach adepts? Because if not, we might be able to get in as prospective students… isn't there usually an interview process with the teacher, or something? That might be enough to get him alone. Otherwise…" The dark-haired elf takes a moment to scan the map, eyes tracing the alleyways, "A smash and grab could also work, particularly in this part of town." Smiling, she takes a look at the assembled group, "And we might even have a numerical advantage here, though I'd still be in favor of a less direct approach." Looking to Abel, she shrugs, "Depends on how much time we have, if any, to cover our tracks. With as many mages as we've got in this room, if the Dojo can be secured for ten, twenty minutes or so, we should be able to scrub away any traces left behind on the Astral."
"I was going to think that we going in, smash the place up, hope that there's some evidence of those shadowy rumors going on about him, and then drop a line to my former friend, now not so much, Allan Nunez in Knight Errant, so that it would maybe clear off the favor that we were doing." She smiles to Oz, Lost, Cain, and Abel. "You four would keep any of the loot. Blackheart and I are doing this to make things square. And Feather's doing this to make things square with us," she says. "You do this, Feather, and we're even. I won't even complain about how you ruined what was a lovely meal."
Posh continues. "Anyway. This was some hard to get information. Les says that this group's into something shady, but the Knight can't touch them, likely because of Ares' protection. But that doesn't mean Ares knows what's going on, they protect everybody unless they get burned, like most corps," she explains. "I'm willing to trust Les that there's something to find there, if he thinks there is. He mentioned that it was…something about like…there are rumors of people disappearing, from the Warrens. Something about how they like…lead killing parties into there, just to…find ways to power their juju." She looks horrified. "Who would ever do such a thing? Seek to mete out death just to gain in power?"
Blackheart nods in agreement with the concerns of the others, "So, we have to fuck this guy up, but not… Kill him? Should we bring a hatchet for his arms or something?" she wonders, then, pointing to Lost as she mentions a smash and grab, nodding her head, "I like it, rig a car to go through the dojo's windows, that could get us inside pretty quick." She pauses to listen to Posh's clarification, "Ah, so we're going after files, then? Leave the guy unharmed?"
Abel watches Lost for a moment before he asks the room, "Does anyone have the metamagics to cleanse the place when we leave? Because Cain and I do not." And then a soft nod. "So a smash and grab for the Magi present, while everyone else focuses on getting the information on him. Sounds like Blood magic too, if what Posh says is true. Sacrificial stuff."

You paged (Oz, Lost) with 'So, you can recognize that based on this information that it is likely that these are Adepts of the Tainted Way. Systemwise, they do ritual murders to get free power points.'.
"I don't care about your complaints, gwailo. I'm here for my own reasons," Feather replies in the same quiet monotone. So much love. "I don't particularly understand why we can't kill him. If he has offended his masters in the past, and he's valued only for his power, are you certain they will wish to avenge him? Will they not simply cut their losses and replace him with somebody else?" A pause. "But if you say it must be this way, then so be it."
"Lets not fool ourselves, though. This may very well turn to bloodshed despite our intentions. We're entering the training grounds of adepts. I'm not sure if stealth will be an effective option. It certainly cannot be one we're relying on. I can't speak for their power, but I can sense all of you by your qi alone. There are myriad other techniques which would defeat conventional stealth. Are you prepared to see this through, if it turns to violence?"
"A hatchet for arms?" Asks the houngan of Blackheart, quietly running a thumb along the hook for his right hand. And smiling that broken tusked smile. Before he turns his attention to Posh - and the group at hand.
"Do not be fooled; Sacrifice is a powerful thing. Giving of yourself for the gods? It is an easy path to power. They hunger for the blood and the flesh, because they have neither." A flash of a bright, toothy smile that twists the houngan's scarred up features. "It is not power itself which is evil - it is the manner in which it is sought. Sacrifice, proper sacrifice, requires willingness. It is in stealing it from others - raping their essence - that we find the wrong. Yes? Yes." That all cleared up, he lets the right arm fall again as he glances aside to Abel.
"If we seek only to close him to the gods - perhaps we need only to pump him full of enough toxins, so that the gods cannot see him, ah? A hand ful of slap-patches.."
"That's what I was thinking," Lost says to Abel, with a bit of a shiver as blood magic is spoken of, "And if that's the case, something's got to be done." Turning to Posh, she continues, "It's beginning to sound like this guy is raiding the Warrens for people to use as blood sacrifices. And if that's true… this guy deserves whatever he's got coming to him. In fact, I would say that death might be too good for him." Blinking, she shakes her head, "But I don't want to get ahead of myself." As Feather speaks up, she turns toward her, "If it does turn to violence, then we improvise…" As Oz speaks up, she blinks, lips then spreading into a slight grin, "You know what? That's a good idea. Stripping this man of his link to magic would do far more damage than killing him, I would imagine."
Abel looks at Feather and Lost for a few moments before leaning forwards on the table. "The poetry is nice and all, but when it comes down to it the asshole is killing people. Not a good person. And, we are not here to kill him. That is not the job we have been given. So, stop bitching that you can't kill him and get your heads in the game." He then even looks to Lost.
"Ripping someone of their magic is also not a part of the job. If you find time to do it without fucking up the mission? Fine. That's your own thing as long as it fits within the parameters. Can we figure out how we are going to do this? Smash and grab? Sneaking in? A car through the front window? Let's focus on the mission itself first before discussing Gods and Morality." The teen looked like he was getting a bit annoyed. "We are shadowrunners, not vigilante superheroes who punish the wicked."
Blackheart hmms and nods her head, liking the idea of overdosing him with slap patches, and she chuckles, shaking her head, "Kill him with kindness, hmm? I kind of like that," she comments. She breaks into the cookies and eats one. "I wonder how many adepts live at the dojo? Do we have word on how many students he's teaching?"
"Perhaps that would be enough," Feather says quietly. "Or perhaps not. He has followers. And robbing him of his ability to manipulate qi and the elements does not rob him of his knowledge. We might only create a vengeful monster, if we leave him to his own devices after stripping him of his power. I said I would cooperate, but doing this halfway is a fool's errand."
"But there is another option, if we are certain this man practices the kind of magic you are speaking of. As you may know, certain groups offer a bounty on any practitioner of blood magic. Where I'm from, there are several. Here, the Draco Foundation serves that role. If we present him to them with evidence of his misdeeds, they will take him. And Ares dare not protest, in that situation. They may even disband the group, if we release the same evidence publicly. This may be the route which best insulates us from the wrath of his students."
Posh frowns. "Why do we need to bring in any other foundation?" she asks. "If they're committing murders and they can't really be investigated, why wouldn't evidence of the murders be enough? A containment cell at SuperMax would probably be quite sufficient to 'strip his magic away,' she suggests. "Let's…not get ahead of ourselves. This guy is a corporate mage, and has a SIN. I just happen to have pretty solid rumors that he's up to something really nasty, and that Knight Errant would love to see him taken down. Let's keep it simple, folks." She smiles at the group. "Does any of that ring any bells for you, like…magic-wise?" she asks.
Oz smiles a bright, tusked smile at Posh. "Of course it does, cerri. You do not walk the fever swamps long enough without seeing where the paths lay for others, ah?" A chuckle, before he becomes serious for a moment. "It is not because he murders people that I join; We all murder, steal, and ruin lives for money. We are illegals; We live illegal lives, ah? It is because the path he walks - if what you say is right - is dangerous. And not just to him." A grin towards Abel, before he continues.
"A car through the front? .. interesting choice. We could also find one of the, ah, mundane employees, cerri.. and have him open the door, yes?"
"There's a flaw in your reasoning," Feather says, her volume dropping slightly. "You wish to ingratiate yourself to Knight-Errant for whatever reasons you have, yet you propose a brutal vigilante action. If we are to be vigilantes, we should simply kill him and be done with it. I don't think it would be particularly difficult to do that."
"But if you do wish to appeal to sensibilities of members of a law enforcement body, you should do so at least somewhat within the confines of the law, as I'm suggesting. Once we procure the evidence, it's much simpler to snatch a single man wherever he may be. There are few havens for practitioners of dark magic, in this world."
Posh lifts an eyebrow. "What about any of the megacorps?" she asks. "Anyway, this guy has probably already cashed in his big favor. It's just that nobody cares about what happens to gangers and other folks in the Warrens that he hasn't been caught yet," she says, taking a deep breath. "Look. A few of us, Blackheart, Luck, and I," she says, remembering to text Luck to attend, by the way, to the Castle Rock place where she has a temporary hideout for the Omens, "and Wanton, took a Knight Errant job but turned it down. This is to make things right with the Knight for us. The rest of you are getting the plunder." She turns to Feather. "How do you recommend we accomplish that, exactly?" she asks.
Posh glances to the rest of the group. "We need to get consensus and do this fast. We've got a lot of resources here, and we should be able to overwhelm this level of opposition, but if we don't do it smart, we'll probably take some hits. That's why I was thinking of the brutal and violent way," she says, turning to Feather. "You have another idea?"
"I don't play games for favors, and when I'm given a name, the order is usually death," Feather replies matter-of-factly. "But if he truly murdered one of his own in cold blood, as you say, and they truly wished him to see punishment for his misdeeds, we simply need turn him over to the authorities to gain their favor. If they truly wanted him dead or crippled, they could have done so themselves instead of attempting a trial. You're appealing to the sensibilities of police, not people like me. I would see him dead. They merely want justice. And if we turn him over to a group like the Draco Foundation, nobody will make much of a fuss about it. It's a clean ending to dirty business."
Lost glances at Abel, but merely shrugs in response, "You're right. Sorry… got a little carried away, there. Ultimately, all that matters getting what needs to be done done, and getting paid. So… better to focus on that." She looks a bit sheepish, but shakes it off before turning to Posh, about ready to reply when Oz speaks up, but she adds a few things to what the Ork had said, "They sound like those who shed the blood of others in pursuit of power. It's not a sort of magic I can say I know much about, but am at least aware of these kinds of things." As the conversations between various parties continue, she blinks, "Picking a fight with this guy and his students on their own turf doesn't sound like the best idea, even if we do have numbers. And even if a direct assault works, there's no guarantee there will be any evidence of his misdeeds for you to bring back to Kay-E. I mean, it's not exactly the sort of thing you would document."
Blackheart opens her second beer, hoping that the buzz will stop the world from spinning around her as people discuss the mission and conspiracies and different angles at going after this guy, she sips her drink, leaning back in her chair. "Posh, does this guy live in the dojo? Do his students live there?" she asks, reaching for a pretzel to nibble on.
Posh looks completely blank. "Who is this Draconis foundation?" she asks. "It sounds like they play far too many roleplaying games," she says, looking around at the rest of the group. "So. I paid for this information from Les, there's a shady adept here, some people disappearing, and he's bulletproof to KE investigation because he's an Ares employee, at least as an affiliate and this little building is extraterritorial," she says.
Cain finally speaks. "And what, exactly, spelled out for a child to understand, is our mission? No morals. No ethics. No flavor. No side jobs. What are we doing?"
Posh shakes her head. "There is no mission," she says. "No payment, no bounty, no job. There's no public bounty posted on an Ares employee that I know about," she says. "But what there is is there's this guy that Knight Errant hates," she says. "Let's start over from the beginning," she says, putting her foot down. "I don't know anything about this Draconic Foundation, and I frankly don't trust any group of -mages-. I trust things I know," she says, looking directly at Feather. "Luck, Blackheart, and I are going in there to dust some arse," she says. "Old-school," she says, which sounds particularly amusing in her British accent. "That's happening. And once I'm done tearing up the place, I'm ringing up Allan Nunez at Knight Errant and reporting criminal activity at the location. That'll give him license to get past the training order, uncover whatever it is Les is talking about, and be a hero. And he'll know it was us that did it for us, and he'll want it known he has useful friends. He's the one who set up the job for us, after all, the one that was blown. That'll go a long way towards clearing things with the Knight." She beams. "I think it would send the right message. Anyway, we expect to find nasty stuff there. We also expect to find magical plunder there," she says.
She turns to Lost, Cain, Abel, and Oz. "Want to come along, and help yourselves to anything magical there, as payment?" she asks. And then to Feather. "And you. You're coming to help out Lost and I. That'll square you with us," she says.
She looks around resting a hand on her hip. "Feather, well do it your way next time. This way, it's my time," she says. "I'm sorry if this seems a bit troublesome, maybe even my way or the highway, but…" She shrugs. "With a gang this big, frankly, it's what's got to be done." She smiles apologetically at Feather. "Right or wrong."
Posh chuckles, and then shakes her head to Cain. "No. He's probably going to be there. And the Knight would hate a chance to let him get away. Nope. We've got to leave him there, alive but unconscious, and hopefully on top of whatever's going to get him put away for good," she says. "You guys are overthinking what I want to do. Les wouldn't tell me he was sure that they were up to something shady if it wasn't dynamite. I'm thinking that they were spotted taking people into that building or something, but I can't be sure."
Blackheart clears her throat and tries a third time, "Posh, does this guy live at the dojo, and do his adepts live at the dojo?"
"I was merely offering my counsel. If your way is the way it must be done, then so be it," Feather says, leaning off the wall. "What's your plan for infiltrating the target area? Is it a direct assault, then?"
"We are eth." States the scarred up houngan, with a broken toothed grin at the knife-ear. "You bleed, I bleed. This is your business, this is Omens business, ah?" He then rubs the severed right stump below the hook, an unconscious motion if ever there was one. "Mm. So if we do not kill this man, so if we are hoping to find something… naughty for the Errant Knights…" Another slow, sardonic twist. ".. What is your plan?"
Posh shakes her head at Blackheart. "No. They all live at an Ares arcology nearby, and are dropped off and picked up by armored shuttle bus. It's a D zone."
"Perfect, we can do a BnE while they're all gone home for the night," Blackheart says, checking her watch. "Let's wait until midnight, then go do a smash and grab with a truck."
Though she does spend a moment looking rather embarassed, Lost manages to nod in Posh's direction, "Well, thank you very much for clearing everything up. I apologize if I've gotten us off track here." Smiling, she continues, "So, bust in, beat up this guy and his boys, make sure to find some incriminating evidence, steal his stash of magical valuables, and leave him there strung up with a bow on for your pal Mr. Nunez to turn into a building block in his career." She summarizes, before continuing, "Anyway, I'm in." Looking to Blackheart, she nods, "I like the sound of that… assuming, of course, the evidence we need is at the dojo."
Posh frowns. "The problem with that, though, Blackheart, is what stops him from getting away?" she asks. "I mean, we report the criminal activity - the Knight comes, sees nothing," she says.
"They have a restraining order against them. So we need to leave someone tied up in the window or something so they can go in."
"It sounds like your people have done some scouting of the target. How many will we be expecting during the time of our assault, in numbers? Any rough idea is better than nothing," Feather asks.
"The guy's going to respond to the alarms tripping when the truck goes throguh the window. If there's incriminating or important stuff in there, he'll be heading in as soon as possible to get it. Then we ambush him as he arrives." Blackheart suggests. "It maximizes the loot and strikes one against this guy, while minimizing our exposure. We leak a fire hydrant at a corner to make it nice and icy, so when their bus comes around the corner at speed it goes out of control and we mop up the stunned survivors."
Abel just listens quietly as things finally seem to be getting on track. "I say we stick with the simplest plan. We hit it and do it hard. We keep away from the big scary gun on the roof and hit the building when the students are not there. No need to try and take out the students as well on the side. Waste of time and resources."
"There hasn't been any scouting of the target, this is just based on the Day Academy's trid page," she says, showing Feather on her PocSec. "It's an Ares Affiliate, in a D zone. Legwork is really easy for people who are on the grid. That's the same reason," she says, a little exasperatedly, "that's we're making sure it's the cops who pick him up. Not some Draco Foundation." She smiles. "Now, this guys' going to have some pretty solid magical security, I imagine. It's a magical resource, for Ares," she says. "That's why I want so many mages along. You guys can banish wards and stuff like that, right?" she asks, turning with a grin to Luck as she comes in. "Looks like we're almost ready, Luck. But you won't be needing the spear this time. Might wanna bring that axle though, you can say that you're going to get it sized," she says, with a chuckle. Posh frowns a bit at Blackheart and Feather. "Well, well, wait a minutes," she says, thinking for a bit. "You're right. There's probably going to be cameras and stuff. All right," she says. "That's a solid idea, Blackheart. How could we hit this place at night, so it would be like…just a few boys, coming to check it out? Because you're right. He wouldn't wait the hour or so for the Star to come. He'd come himself, with a few of his students, and be there first." She grins. "Good thinking." She turns to Feather. "Look, I'll go with your Draco Foundation idea, if you know someone specific there. Like this Allen Nunez I know at the Knight. Sorry for the paranoia, but this is to help cover a specific concern," she explains to Feather.
"I know a guy at Draco that might be interested, but I'd rather get the KE off of our backs," Blackheart says. "I could give him a call if it looks like something they'd definitely be interested in, and they could work with the KE in cleaning up."
"Kurak, right?" Lost says to Blackheart with a grin, "I was just thinking of him. He'd probably want to get a piece of this action, don't you think? If blood magic is involved, which it seems to be, he'd probably be able to help us out somehow."
Posh nods. "Well, I don't know about blood magic per sey, but that's bad juju at least," she says. "All right. When I give Allan Nunez the tipoff, you guys also contact Kurak about the bounty." she nods. "But. Blackheart, Luck, Feather, and I are only doing this to square things with KE - and Feather owes me one, so we'll say she's doing it in Wanton's place. The rest of you will split the bounty from Draco." She grins. "All right, I think we're ready to do this. Let's go bust in there at night, like Blackheart suggested, and spring a trap for these nasty guys."
"No deal," Feather says, shaking her head. "If we are getting paid, I want in. It was my idea. It's not a big difference, anyway, splitting it eight ways instead of seven."
Abel, at this point, leans back in his seat and starts messing around on his phone as everyone figures out payments and all this other stuff.
Posh sighs. "Please listen, Feather. It's not getting split eight, or seven ways. IT's getting split four. Neither Blackheart, Luck, or I are taking payment either, to ensure that there's plenty left over to make Lost, Cain Abel, and Oz's time worthwhile," she says. "You don't look like you're much use in a fight, cutie," she says, "so your ideas are why you're even in the room."
"So… Just to clarify. No spear, because we're doing this non-lethal. But the words 'blood magic' and then 'bad juju' were thrown around." Luck chews the inside of her cheek, thinking. "And we're getting paid how much? None?" A glance to Posh. "You realize it'll make it a lot harder to work in those conditions." Then a pause. "Oh, right. This is to get Knight-Errant to stop being pissed at us, huh." A small sigh. "…Okay. Fine. Let's do this."
It's not clear what the expression on Feather's face is, but she's thinking something. A few moments of silence pass before she finally responds. "So be it."
Posh smiles at Feather. "Thank you," she says. "I'm sorry I had to lean on you a little hard here, but the fact of the matter is, you -did- rather trouble Lost and I the other day. I'm not taking payout on this one, so you'll be helping me, but you'll also be helping Lost collect her payout." She smiles, looking with a bit of a plead in her eyes to Lost. "Does that work for you, Lost?" she asks. She also turns to nod to Luck. "That's right. They've got the bad juju, but they've got SINs. That means we have to do this one with one hand behind our backs. Hence, the numbers," she explains. "That doesn't mean we can't go in with axles and gel rounds, though."
Oz slowly lifts his hand, smiling at Blackheart. "… Cerri, we have no need to 'steal' a vehicle. With a simple twist and my parlour tricks.." The tusked grin grows a bit more toothy. ".. We will be given what we need. Our new friends will even drive it for us, right .. into.. the.. wall.."
Blackheart cocks an eyebrow and grins to Oz, "Now, that's a cheat mode if I've ever heard of one."
Lost smiles at Posh, "Works just fine for me. I've said it before, doesn't take much to motivate me to help people out. And… from what I'm hearing, it doesn't sound like you'll need me for much other than to perhaps identify what sort of magical stuff might be on hand, and patch up any wounds people might take during the assault." At the exchange between Blackheart and Oz, she chuckles softly, "Certainly makes things a lot easier, doesn't it?"
Posh grins. "All right, this is sounding good," she says. "So. We get Sara to drop us off and we hide across the street. As soon as a van comes by, Oz takes control over the driver and makes him drive into the ground floor of the dojo. We wait for Day and whatever cronies he brings to show up. And if he -does- show up, before the police get there, we'll know it's because he's trying to hide something. That'll mean that we can be a little more sure about going heavy." She grins. "So when he shows up, we charge in, kick their rears, and then tipoff Allen and uh…the guy at Draco," she says, whose name she's already forgotten, looking around now, with a quick smile. "All right, the one's really coming together, I think. Anyone have any ideas to /add/ to this plan?" she ask, being very specific about the word 'add.'
"…Uh. Add, no, just a question. Why in the world do you want me to bring the axle?" Luck is curious about that. "I can hit them from a distance probably just as well." She chews on that a bit. Oh, wait, no. She's just got gum in her mouth. Peppermint. "I bet we'll be fine without it. I mean… I don't think we've ever been in 'dire straits', have we? About completing the mission that is." A look towards Posh, smile fading. "…Almost lost someone, a couple times, of course."
Oz allows the sardonic little smile to fade away for a moment, as he rubs at his chin. "Just one; I must see this person, if I am to play with their body." He doesn't even bother trying to correct the double entendre as the broken tusked smile flashes again. "So. Do we know when this van will be coming, ah?"
Lost says, "I think we've spent enough time talking… and some of that was me running my mouth and getting us off topic, so…" She blushes faintly, shaking her head, "I think I should just keep my big mouth shut instead, and we should hop to it." She looks around at the group once more before rising from her seat and stretching a bit, seemingly ready to go.
Posh grins, and shakes her head. "I think you'll be fine with your fists. It won't hurt you to focus on using them, actualy, especially as you've been trying to work out recently, I see, Luck," she says. "No need to bring the axle. So. Everyone clear? Nonlethals only." She shakes her head to Lost. "And not at all. Believe me, I've done worse." She chuckles. "So. Let's load up, and meet up with Sara in one hour. We can't let anyone else act on this info before us. We'll be hitting at 2 AM, as Blackheart suggests. Let's move out, folks."
Feather quietly approaches Oz. "You can ride with me, if you wish. I will maneuver you into position." A brief pause followed by a matter-of-fact question. "Unless you're afraid of motorcycles?"
Oz glances aside to Feather, and laughs. "Ah, no. What fear has a mortal, ah? We all go to the same place in the end." The tusked smile grows a bit brighter. "And at least the view will be good until then, yes? Yes."
Abel just gives a nod of his head. "Alright, sounds good enough for me, now that we've figured out what we are doing."
Fortunately, the van driver is not nearly as anti-human as Sara herself, and he's just the hookup, stopping by Rollo, Posh's contact, to pick up a van temporarily. There's a conveniently located Thunkin' Cronuts across the street, in which folks can relatively unobtrusively watch the traffic going by. There's the usual crowd of latenight D=zone coffee shop (meta)human refuse, Posh headed up to the counter to make a big two-tray (hey, each has four) coffee order to satisfy the group's flagging energy.
It's still a road there's commerce going down. It might take the cops up to an hour to arrive, but there's still a van or truck every few minutes. The dojo has barred glass big dojo windows and a barred front door. Enough of a barrier to stop on foot security. Not much of one for van-stopping.
Who needs a chauffer these days? "Come with me, then," is the only thing Feather says to Oz before she leaves with him, pulling up a sleeve and swiping a quick pattern into her wrist computer. And then she waits. About ten seconds pass before the growl of a high-performance motorcycle is heard outside. She does give him a radio frequency before they get moving, though on the way there, she has an equal amount of silence to offer. Her only question is whether Oz has any chameleon cloaking technology, though she doesn't explain further once he responds in the affirmative.
She finds a low traffic spot near the coffee shop, one that gives her a good vantage point without any fear of cars wandering over, and she hops off her bike. It looks like her bike has a smuggling compartment, and out of it, she pulls a rather large box with a strap, slinging it around her body, before hopping back onto her bike. "Get on," she says to Oz.
The occasional van trundles along the road, going either direction, reasonably regularly.
«Plot» Feather says, "I'd like to go on the record stating my opposition to the word trundle."
«Plot» Posh says, "Noted."
«Plot» Posh says, "And denied. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/trundle"
For the tusker's part, he seems not to mind the silence from the taciturn knife-ear; After all, when the gods speak to you, what are the words of a flat-faced elf? Instead, when she asks whether he has some way to turn invisible, he merely smiles with, "One of my few parlour tricks, omae. Do not be concerned." And finally they arrive.
He hops off long enough for her to get her kit up and out, watching with faint curiosity and quietly eyeing the bike. What a fancy bike; So much better than his old suzuki. For a moment, temptation rears it's ugly head - but is battered down. Save it for later.
At the affirmative, the broken tusk smirks, and climbs aboard. "First time I have the bitch bucket, cerri. An interesting experience." He makes certain the sleeve around his hook is buttoned closed; It won't stop the hook, but it will keep it from drawing too terribly much attention. And then?
Then he holds on with his good hand.
Feather doesn't do more than squeeze some point on her left sleeve. And then she vanishes, first her suit, then her helmet, then the case, then the bike. Somebody has spent way too much on ruthenium. "You may wish to conceal yourself," she says, taking this opportunity to state the obvious.
And then they wait. "We're in position," she says quietly on comms. No need to scream just yet. The explosions haven't even started.

"I can lay down a smoke screen once we breach the enemy's walls, to conceal our approach. If anybody here isn't capable of thermographic vision, you need to speak now," Feather says quietly.
Oz blinks as the woman quietly fades from sight, leaving him perched in mid-air like a man particularly recalcitrant to take a dump. And on his tiptoes. With a smirk, the houngan reaches up to massage his temple, and weave the spirits about him; His fade away isn't nearly as fast - but it is as complete.
Abel takes a minute or so to strip down with his brother in the back of the van, shoving his clothes in his bag. With his helmet on and plugged in. His shogtun get plugged into a wire that he pulls out of his gloved sleeves.
Commlink-Abel> Abel sends, « Ready. »
« I am not » Replies Lost, subvocalizing over comms, « But it's unlikely you'll need me to do any shooting anyway. If necessary, I can project, summon a few elementals and keep an eye on them from the astral. Smoke won't make any difference to me then. » That said, she snatches a cup of coffee from the trays Posh had so conscientously purchased for the group, looking as inconspicuous as possible as she sips it, leaning against the van casually.

The houngan grips tight to the bitch bucket as Feather moves them in and out of traffic, manuevering where he can see into the truck proper. And here - here is where the fun begins. The houngan glances back over his invisible shoulder, a dark smile crossing his features as he reaches into the winds of the spirit. The mind is the playground of the body, after all - and the flesh is the domain of the Loa. Let the other godlings play with forests and prairies and rivers; The loa swim in the blood of humanity itself. The invisible lines are attached, the driver's mouth forcing itself closed but for a whimper, and his body is not his own. A flash of dark glasses cross the houngan's features as the loa mask is lowered - though invisible as he is, who's going to know? The power burns.
And the truck turns like a puppet on a string. Right towards the dojo, full speed. Boom
Feather, Cain, and Abel, with the driver and the twins inside and Feather on her biek outside. Posh is grabbing coffee (hey, eight cups in two trays) while Blackheart had staked out the joint - seems like there were no particular surprises. It's as had been expected, a D-zone. Seems like Posh had found a guy who thought he was safe, and that, in the UCAS, with the Knight frustrated by that shiny Ares sin, that he was untouchable.
A van, under the rather rigid thinking of its driver equally puppeted by Oz, is about to demonstrate otherwise.
The bars are no protection whatsoever for the van, and you can hear the scream of the somewhat, but not badly, injured driver as he comes to his senses and tries to start to knock the van out. There's no sound of an alarm, but there's the sound of dogs barking. Posh's hair color changes back to red from the blonde she'd been wearing, along with spray tan, to buy the coffee under disguise, looking around. "Well, can't say that didn't work."
«Plot» Feather says, "We just crashed the van into the building?"
Coffee. It's good for growing Oni. « Ready as I'll ever be. » She's quiet otherwise. Just need to get the job done - no time for games, or extra chat. Probably. And it's likely she'll leave people alive! Because Posh said no killing. Sad day. « Just lemme know when and where you want the hammer. »
Commlink-Blackheart> Blackheart sends, « head in now so we can loot the place first. I'll keep watch for approaching vehicles. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Negative, Blackheart. With that tat we need you and Luck with me in the hit team. The twins too with their guns. Lost and Feather, can you two provide overwatch? One astral, one meat, swap? »
Posh leaves the coffee in the van to cool - hopefully it'll still be hot by the time the team gets back. She nods to Blackheart, the twins, Luck, and Oz. "Good work," she says, after hearing the KER-SMAWSH. "All right. Let's move on in. Lost and Feather can tell us when we need to be ready, and set our ambush."
Lost leans casually against the van, sipping her coffee. When she hears what is apparently a random passing van crash into the dojo, she smirks a bit to herself before climbing back into the van, "Sounds like we're on." She says to those inside before speaking over comms, « I don't hear an alarm, but it sounds like we've got an in. And I'm on it. » "Good luck," She says with a smile and a nod toward those in the van, setting her coffee down before taking a deep breath and leaving the meat world behind for the astral.
Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Negative on you on the lookout, Blackheart, but you're right about the timing. Sorry if that was unclear. We'll go in now, but we'll have Lost and Feather on lookout. And I can't see thermographically, so no, the smoke's out. »
Abel slips out the back of the van when Lost goes in. He makes for a jog across the street towards the building, shotgun up and ready.
When the Van smashes into the building, and Cain gets the go ahead, he slides the door open and starts to run across the street after patting Abel on the shoulder. "We are up!" He says, not bothering with the comms to his brother in the van, as the twin bolts across the road. Fuck you Cameras, because Abel and Cain are in full concealing black FFBA suits, with opaque helmets that conceal their identities rather well.
The panicky driver, not knowing what had happened, backs away, turning this into a hit and run, and is soon gone. There's no way the runners can know how fast police response tonight is. But they've got a good lookout setup outside and they've got a team of six headed on in.
With the sound of the crash, Blackheart pulls down her ski mask and goes with Abel, drawing one of her SMGs and moving behind the other mage with her low light vision on. She keeps an eye on the road so that they don't get Foghorned on the way across. Seeing the mangled van sticking out of the dojo, she smiles to herself, "Nice work, Oz," she says quietly, scanning the area for any kung fu students about to jump kick her.
Feather brings the bike to a halt in front of the building. She seems to have been benched. If she has a protest to offer, she doesn't say it. Instead, over comms, she offers a simple status report. Her voice is louder here, enough to be heard over the racket of the van disengaging itself from the building. "If you need my aid inside, call for me. I'll stand watch until you do."
«Plot» Posh says, "Crash has happened. Truck has sputtered away. Posh, Luck, Blackheart, and Oz are approaching the door. Twins are with the door approach team. Lost and Feather are watching, mixed astral and normal scouting of the main entrance. Does that make sense eto everyone?"
Getting up to the building, Blackheart peeks into the hole in the wall, shifting to thermal to make sure nobody's hiding out in a dark corner. «Looks clear» she whipsers into her subvocal microphone strapped to her throat as she steps through the hole to begin looking for loot and evidence.
Posh nods to Blackheart. "«Copy. Looks like we've got some dirty gym shorts here» she says, quickly checking the locker room. "Any luck on that door?" she asks, looking around the room, glancing over to the twins. "The door's got a camera right?"
Cain moves inside swiftly when the others do, scanning around the room for things of note. Security displays, living bodies or dead ones, unusual sources of heat signatures on the thermal, etc. For a brief moment, his gaze flickers astral to scan for wards or lurking elementals/spirits.

You paged (Blackheart, Oz, Cain) with 'Looks like a high rating maglock. R5+'.
«Plot» Cain says, "What is the door made out of?"
There doesn't seem to be anything for Lost to see on the Astral yet, but she keeps zooming around the building all the same, waving to those she knows are Awakened, just in case they happen to be glimpsing the astral when she streaks by, not that a blurred form on the astral would be all that easy to see in any case. For the most part though, she focuses on making sure no spirits or people manage to sneak up on the rest of the group.
Abel moves inside the building and crouches down behind the opening the truck had made, standing watch for the team behind him working on the door.
Commlink-Cain> Cain sends, « Anyone have a way to open maglocks, or are we going through the door? »
There's a soudden whisssh, a skeletal skull RAWRface approaching Lost and Feather, as a spirit comes zooming through the astral towards her at nearly fighter jet speeds! It clearly is heading either towards her directly or the location, and is full on loaded for bear. Meanwhile, Feather can see a car approaching at high speed, careening through the streets. Might attract the cops if there were any.
«Plot» Cain says, "For everyone: In order to damage it, your firearm needs to have a power of 8 minimum, which will reduce it by 1 barrier per attack. Against firearms, the door is considered Barrier 16. (1/2 barrier power lowers the barrier by one). Meaning it will take approximately 10 volleys of fire from people with a power of 8 or more to break it."
«Plot» Cain says, "As the door is damaged, it gets easier and easier to be damaged, as the barrier goes down."
Oz frowns at the door, and speaks into his com. «.. I do not usually bother with locks, cerri. I cannot pick them, but.. perhaps, if I whisper to my patron, I can.. take the door apart?» There is a much larger pause. «It would, however, mean I could no longer help. I would be ridden until the end, oma..»
Cain shakes his head, "No, don't incap yourself for this." He says simply, "Just buy us some time." He looks to Blackheart and Abel, "Lets put holes in this shit, yeh?"
Blackheart winces as Oz notes the strength of the door. "Think I could shoot it out?" she asks, swapping out her rubber bullets for some real ones in her ingrams. "Take cover, some of these might bounce," she says as she lines up the door, aiming at the locks and hinge areas.
Commlink-Cain> Cain sends, « Going to go through the door the old fashioned away. »
Blackheart winces as Oz notes the strength of the door. "Think I could shoot it out?" she asks, swapping out her rubber bullets for some real ones in her ingrams. "Take cover, some of these might bounce," she says as she lines up the door, aiming at the locks and hinge areas.
«Plot» Cain says, "It will take two turns for the combined firing force of Cain, Abel, and Blackheart to shoot through the door, +1 round for swapping ammunition."
«Plot» Blackheart says, "Now the real question, does my burst modifier work for being 8+?"
«Plot» Cain says, "Yes against barriers, no against hardened armor."
«Plot» Cain says, "However it won't matter after Abel puts one shot into it."
As the spooky skull face of rage zooms toward her, Lost instinctively jukes to one side. Of course, considering the speed at which both she and the spirit move on the astral, there's unlikely to be much advantage to be gained. In any case, with a grin, she zips on back to her meat body, taking a deep breath as her eye open suddenly, « We've got company! » She says over comms. And no sooner are those words transmitted than the air begins to shimmer near the rest of the team, the outline of what appears to be some kind of floating skull wearing a rather angry expression starts to fade into reality.
Abel steps away from the hole in the wall/window and jogs fully inside to the door. "Fucking gel," he mutters audibly, not over comms as he raises his shotgun to point it at one of the hinges. «All together. Cain, Blackheart. Open up.» And he opens fire.
«Interlopers have arrived,» Feather quietly says over comms, trying to subvocalize a little more softly than usual. «Three enemies. The target is with them. Should I engage?»
The door appears to be an armored internal partition, relatively equivalent to armored security glass. Posh nods. "Yes, indeed, Blackheart. Go for it. We have to make them charge and get stupid. Everyone. Open ire," she says, immediately quickdrawing or her double EXEX loaded heavy pistols.
«Plot» Feather says, "Can I see the materializing spirit now? Is it inside the van with her?"
When the command to fire is given inside the building, Cain has already swapped mags back to regular rounds, and he lays fire into the door, working near one particular hinge in an effort to weaken it enough. With the combined force of three SMGS, a shotgun, and two pistols… This door likely doesn't stand much of a chance.
The spirit form starts to shift and shimmy as it begins to form up, while the door blows inwards, shattered by the rounds brutally and the team charges on upwards. "Let's get a floor up," says Posh," as Feather can see the group rounding the corner, apparently not noticing that their spirit friend didn't make it all the way in to ambush those invading. And so that leaves Lost and Feather alone with the manifesting spirit, having done their duty of warning the team of the approach of Day and his three buddies!

There's office space with simple, cheap cyberterminals, not even really worth trying to fence, they're so common on the street. "Blast it, this doesn't look like any kind of useful academy at all! Is everything just on electronics now?" she asks. "We better hope there's something upstairs."
«Plot» Lost says, "So then, what is the force of the spirit?"
«Plot» Posh says, "F5"

«Auto-Judge[]» Lost (#4658) rolls 3 vs TN 5 for "Banishing F5 spirit! KP 1":

«Plot» Oz says, "Banishing. It's a contest of wills. Spirit's force v. Lost's magic, lost's ability v. spirit's force. Whoever loses all their points first loses. Spirit is banished, or Lost is out of magic, stunned with D, and potentially loses a magic point."
«Plot» Cain says, "When you banish a spirit, Lost rolls her conjuring against its Force. The sprit rolls its Force against Lucks Magic. If Lost gets more successes, the spirits force is reduced by that amount. If the spirit gets more, Lost's magic is reduced by that amount."

«Plot» Cain says, "So, the spirit loses 3 force, and is now a force 2 spirit."
«Plot» Posh says, "It is now an F2 spirit, with 2 karma points remaining. How appropriate."
«Plot» Cain says, "As Lost one, lost can choose to continue the contest, meaning the spirit can do nothing except resist. Its 'stuck' against Lost."
«Plot» Posh says, "Can it finish manifesting on its turn?"
«Plot» Cain says, "Yes, that was already started."
«Plot» Posh says, "Okay!"
«Plot» Cain says, "So… Feathers up >.>"
Lost has absolutely no intention of letting any spirits taste her soul. Focusing her sight on where the spirit is materializing, she sets her jaw and glares /hard/ at the spirit, her own astral form reaching out as she attempts to essentially rip the materializing spirit apart with nothing but sheer willpower. From the slight smile forming on her lips, it would appear that she's succeeding in that task.
The spirit finally finishes manifesting, although when it does it is apparently badly weakened and locked in mental combat with Lost!

Abel moves to his brother, taking cover on the other side of the staircase while aiming down it.
Posh looks arond, and shakes her head. "«Negative. I can hear movement downstairs. They're coming. We've got some good cover with these desks, Let's set up here, and wait for them. They're going to be coming on up expecting that there'll be trouble on the main office floor, not /this/ floor,»
Posh continues to speak into the subvocal«Cain, Abel, Blackheart. With me. Oz and Luck, stay right by the stairs, and get ready to engage any that we don't take out straight off. Everyone, load gel. We're gonna treat 'em like we did the door."

Just call Cain the finisher. His first braap drops man number one to the floor, and the second braap drops- Wait, he was already on the floor. Well, it puts the guy out like a light when the second barrage of bullets slams into him.
It seems that three of the enemies are all taken out now, groanding and unconscious on the floor. However, it seems that the rather brutal Richard is still on his feet - meanwhile, Blackheart is the one who's got the drop, first in the round - But he's all up in her bace and both of them have expended much of their prowess for these few seconds.

Blackheart's gleefully spraying and praying down the stairwell, her chrome eyes lighting up as she sees her victims tumbling down the stairs, covered with bruises from her rubber bullets when out of the corner of her eyes, at the very last second she sees the biggest scariest axe in the world sailing right for her face. "AAAAhh!" she cries out, falling back into a desk (and totally not soiling her pants!) as Richard Day hacks a nearby filing cabinet to pieces. She looks quickly to the cabinet as it bleeds precious paperwork in manilla and white, and she quickly adjusts her fire to the scary scary man looming over her, both of her smgs barking angrily that this cruel thug would dare attack their mistress! (and totally not make her soil her pants, by the way. Really. It didn't happen.)

"All right," says Posh," as the last of them finally goes down. "Okay. So." She shudders a little bit, the adrenaline washing off her. "Fuck, that guy was fast. God, those guys were actually pretty tough. I feel like if we'd brought fewer…" she shakes her head. "All right now. Let's head upstairs, and then let's get the hell out of here. Someone must have heard the shooting…
When she opens the door to head upstairs, there's…a sudden foreboding. A sensation of evil. And the sound of desperate voices. For there are four /cages/ in here, as well as a…what looks like a sort of altar. On the altar are horrid looking stains. And in the cages are four unkempt dirty people - likely some of the people disappeared from the Warrens.
Posh suddenly looks around, then back at the others. "This is some bad shit," she says. "I want no part of this." She bites her lip. "Cain, can you use that spell of yours, we can pick up all our spent gel? I'm firing off a message to Allen, you two are sending a message to Draco. I don't want to be here a second longer than I have to. Let's get the fuck out of here. I'll make it up to you guys later, if I have to," she says.
Cain rubs his head, and glances around. "Uh… Pretty sure getting all that gels pretty pointless. We buried at least a few dozen rounds into the wall going through the security door." He says with a roll of his shoulder. "Its only going to matter if they catch us with these guns, anyway. So, lets just not have that happen, yeh?"
Blackheart's panting as her heart's beating through her chest as she peppers the leader of the Kung Fu Blood Cult and sees him twist in agony as the pain overwhelms him into a stunned mass on the floor. Blinking, she looks about, "Clear!" she calls out, the smell of gunpowder in heavy haze about her. She shakes her head and follows the others up to the horrific scene up above. "Jesus, look at this mess," she says, her voice shaky as she looks about. "You guys sure you wanna loot this shit? It's probably all cursed."
In about the same amount of time it takes for the firefight inside to start and finish, Lost focuses intently on the weakened form of the spirit outside, concentration written clearly on her face as the spirit gives one final, horrible screech before evaporating into nothingness. Heaving a sigh, she quickly look around for any more danger, on the physical or astral. Seeming content there's no more danger, she speaks over comms, « Everyone alright? Anyone need medical attention? Otherwise, are we gonna bolt or is there time to clean up first? »
Oz pulls his H&K - just in time to see all four of the adepts go down in a blaze of gel rounds and madness. He stands there, rather sheepishly, before quietly tucking the gun back away. "Mm… " He states to hismelf, before looking at Blackheart with a broken tusked smirk.
"It is better than empty handed, ah? There is nothing evil about power; Merely the manner it was gained."
Feather is still standing guard, having spent the entire run doing so. She was about to intervene when the ally spirit attacked, but watching Lost lock it into a battle of banishment, she decided to simply hold her ground and let the magess do her work. And here she is, still.
Blackheart nods her head to Oz's comment. "You better believe it, but I'm glad I took that youtube course, I think it saved my life," she says, still rattled by the axe attack.
Posh nods quickly at the others, and sends that message to Allen, to let him know that there's some pretty significant kidnapping and murder happening at this location. "All right," she says, pulling out some plasteel restraints and leaving all of the adepts shackled up.
Meanwhile, the spirit that had assaulted Lost finally is put to rest, having been heavily damaged by Feather's assault, the spirit giving a scream of rage as it is extinguished.
Back with the others, Posh turns to Blackheart with a smile. "Yeah, we'll definitely have to make sure we keep up with that, huh? "she asks. "I'm gonna be focusing on learning better dodging, too."
«Auto-Judge[]» Posh (#11342) uses 4 of item 9: Plasteel Restraint from Posh's Purse Contents (#4294).
