"If Dunn takes the job, he'll finish it. Don't mistake his kindness for weakness."

BACKGROUND
Ex-county sheriff from PCC's San Luis Valley. Rose to become the county's primary rigger out of necessity, then elected sheriff over a large, jurisdictionally messy stretch of land where tribal and PCC law overlapped.
A case crossed jurisdictional lines it shouldn't have. Outside pressure told him to handle it quietly — it ended in a violent confrontation. He survived but lost his arm (replaced with cyberware) and lost parts of the official record. His authority was quietly stripped, and "retirement" was the clean way to make him go away. He moved to Denver for anonymity, no family, distant ties to the Valley.
Practical code: protect civilians, don't abuse authority, finish what you start.

PERSONALITY: "THE CARETAKER"
- Core: A caretaker who happens to be a rigger/runner, not the reverse. Sheriff → rigger → runner; the impulse to show up for people never changed.
- Quiet competence — solves problems before anyone notices; doesn't need credit.
- Observer before actor — drone loadout is recon-first; understand before acting.
- Escalation ladder: Observe → Communicate → Avoid → Protect → Fight → overwhelming force (absolute last resort).
- Infrastructure over heroics — invests in retrans, encryption, medical, repair gear; makes the team effective, not just himself.
- Mechanic's soul — repairs rather than replaces; nothing flashy, everything works.
- Old-fashioned, not stubborn — word, promise, and reputation matter to him personally.
- Distrust without cynicism — doesn't trust institutions, still believes justice exists, delivers it himself. Hard pass on corporate clinics specifically.
- Quiet loneliness — fake SINs mark both cover and the end of his old life.
- Tech as compromise, not achievement — cyberware is a tool forced on him by circumstance, not something he takes pride in.
- F1D0 — not equipment, his longest-running trusted relationship.
- Dry humor — his fake SIN names (McClane, Riggs, Callahan) are a joke he never explains. Also prone to self-deprecating jokes that are technically lies given his hardware.
- Defining virtue: stewardship — takes responsibility for gear, home, drones, team, and strangers alike.
- Trust — walls come down for people he's come to trust, unlike Declan (his other active character), who stays guarded with everyone.

CURRENT GOALS
1. Upgrade existing 'ware — current cyberware is all Standard grade; wants it brought up to Alpha and/or Beta grade first.
2. Battle Tac System + Tactical Computer — the next major step, to better link/coordinate all his drones and heavier firepower together.
3. Delta grade would be ideal eventually but is prohibitively expensive — a someday-goal, not a real plan yet.
4. Side benefit of upgrading: freed-up budget/capacity to properly fix F1D0's cosmetic disguise.
5. Wants Chiron specifically for the install work — trusts him over corporate clinic options.
Paid project (commissioned by Minx): Building/upgrading a "Felix"-line companion bot for Minx, who's paying him for it — serving as both a social companion piece and a low-profile bodyguard. No friend markup — genuinely enjoys this kind of project.
