Produced in the shipyards of Komsomolsk by the Krasnaya Sormova Shipbuilding Company. The Vaneyev was designed with economy and practicality in mind. It operates with a diesel/electric engine combination much like the Vulkan Delphin series of subs. The sub also comes equipped with a electrolytic oxygen generator, making extended voyages possible.
