GM: Mr. Terrific
Players: Indrakshi, Knight, Krieg, Abel, Scurry
Synopsis: Mister Terrific's main non-exclusive squeeze Troll-With-Pole was having some difficulties with socially-connected thug kid anti-gay vandals in the Sioux sector (parents on the Council). He couldn't cast a spell on them or have Mister Terrific do it because the signature might be traced back to them and the Council would have to get involved. But hire someone unrelated to administer a beat-down, with no known signature, and no guns, no shooting, no permanent harm? That's the way to go, and everyone learns a little lesson and runs away carrying bodies.
Date: January 31, 2075
Mister Terrific, noted consulting magician, has put the word out on a the street. A little run, pays ten to twenty kay, meet him in the back room of CHROME and he will lay it out to you. The place doesn't have any snipers or lurkers and the security is standard, complete with CHROME's usual drones and rules about anything larger than pistols. You all know, or can discover, that CHROME has specially secured 'back rooms' with electronic countermeasures against being overheard.
Indra knows T, T is good. Rather, T can be good. So Indra will make her way to Chrome, keeping her armaments light, and merely wearing her neo fatigues outfit.
Knight arrives at the back room which has been set up for the meet, while he wears his secure jacket about the fine clothes which he brought with him. The matte black is outlined with reflective orange-gold patterns at its edges. The Shaman shifts his Ancien scarf about the neck and also lifts up his sunglasses a little bit, while he shakes his head a bit in thought, and adjusts the backpack which he wears about a shoulder.
Abel shows up, sans any firearms and with a large duffelbag on his back. He also had a motorcycle helmet on his head, hiding his face. Once in the back room, he would take a moment to look around before quietly taking a seat.
Krieg arrives casually, as she often seems to, leaving any inappropriate gear or weapons in Senshis bag, letting him stand watch outside the bar as she makes her way inside to the meeting.
Scurry arrives shortly after Abel, his usual scarf-mask combo fighting both cold weather and identity-related issues. He takes a seat as he listens to Mr.T give the low-down.
Mr.Terrific is there in his standard dressed-down synthleathers, his denim shirt and jeans, armored vest, python-print cowboy boots. "I'm glad you could all make it. Let me lay it down simple. I have a >cough< friend in the Sioux Nation, just over the border, named Troll-With-Pole. He's a Bull Shaman and runs a talismongery shop there. Some of the local kids, kind of a proto-gang, have been causing him trouble. And they have been escalating gradually. And they are connected, in a friends of friends way. They have relatives, or relatives of relatives, on the council, or attached to the council, because family is important over there, and everyone has connections. You scan me?
So what we want is to catch them in the act of performing their usual vandalism, and to administer a beat-down of some type. HOWEVER. No guns, no killing, no matter what. An embarassing beat-down by people unknown while they are in the middle of executing a crime? Their parents and relatives will laugh and waggle their finger at them and call it a life lesson. Someone gets shot, someone dies? That's murder and will be blown way out of proportion."
Indra slowly exhales before lighting an herbal stick and taking a drag from it and blowing the smoke from her lungs as she speaks. "Do we gas them, beat the drek out of them, and leave them naked in the snow?"
Mr.Terrific adds, "Now, I could go over there and cast a spell on them. But if they spot my astral signature, they'll know it's me. I'm too popular, let's just say. And the heat will fall on Troll-With-Pole. If TWP casts a spell on them ,same thing. If you cast a spell on them, plausible deniability.
Mr.Terrific answers Indra, "If you can get the stuff in, do it in the middle of a populated area, and get out clean, it's an option. Neurostun only."
Knight gives a small frown at Indra's suggestion, but he rolls his shoulders a bit in thought. The Shaman tilts his head a bit to the side, and quirks up a brow, "There has to be more to it, are they dangerous?" he asks. When he notices that Krieg is about, he blinks a few times, but doesn't seem that bothered, while he offers the woman a little gesture of greeting.
Mr.Terrific says to Knight, "At least two are magically active; they are up and coming kids, and by kids I mean eighteen plus, they are connected. Which means they have had training in various skills everyone should have training in. Whether or not they applied themselves is another thing."
Abel reaches up and rubs at his neck. "Get into a fist-fight, hrm?" He knew some muay-thai, but wasn't the greatest at it. Eventually, he just shrugs his shoulders. He should be fine. "Yeah, sounds good to me. I'm in. I can help counterspell any of them who are awakened."
Krieg peers at Knight and points, but then goes back to looking to the group as she scoots over somewhat beside Indra as if shes hiding from Knight. "So casual observation and a little physical punishment is all. That sounds acceptable." She thinks of what could be done, maybe just have Senshi beat them up..little risk involved there.
Indra moves to lightly tap Abel in the side and lean into him. "No no, you don't need to get into a fist fight, if they got finger wigglers of their own, you get to put them to sleep. I get into fist fights, and later you get to take me out for dinner, mm Darlin?" She says, putting on a fake Southern Belle Drawl and for all intents and purposes, looking like she's using Abel as a pillow, or some thing as she seemingly melts over him to tease. "So we go in and Abel and Knight pummel their spell slingers. We roll neurostun in. When it dissipates, we charge and just deck any one standing. Put them ass to mouth naked in a snow bank. Nice and Easy. yes?"
Mr. Terrific says, "So, again, mildly populated area. And catch them in the act."
Mr. Terrific says, "Presumably, they won't be engaged in much vandalism in front of people, though; I hear tell it's mostly in the middle of the night too."
Knight pulls out his PocSec and frowns for a moment, then he types at it real fast and shuts the device off for the moment. The Shaman blanches a bit at Indra's words, "That's disgusting," he says. A slight glance to Krieg and just a small nod. Back to Indra, "…Knight," he voices, believing she meant him.
Mr.Terrific says, "So, is everyone in? If so, I'll give you my number so you can call me, and then you're off. Do be careful, don't get spotted by their security forces, no guns, no killing. Did I mention no guns, no killing yet?"
Abel slips an arm around Indra casually enough. "Problem being, little lady, is that my spells tend to kill people. Not a good idea to use those on this run. Scurry is the guy you want to go to for knocking dudes out. Even then, it's hard to do that to mages. Best to just hit them really hard."
Indra scowls a bit at T when he mentions it -again-. "Yes, I understand. Beat them down, do not kill. It just means I get to be scarier as we stalk them like wolves stalk the doe."
Krieg mentions, "It would not be hard to quickly paint up Senshi as a security unit and have them engage in an altercation that can be entirely recorded." She wonders a momment, "Is there a particular agency that patrols that area?"
Scurry nods when Abel speaks. "I understand," He says to Mr. T. "I don't do guns or killing anyways. We'll have to set up a stakeout, take them by surprise, and then go for a rumble. From what I understand" He says while looking at T "If we catch them in the middle of the act, but make it obviously non-lethal, the community will tolerate our presence?"
Mr.Terrific says, "Yes, the Sioux have basic security forces, and of course, if things get out of hand, the Sioux Wildcats. But you shouldn't be pissing anyone off enough for them to do anything. RIGHT? Right.
Mr.Terrific bobs his head to Scurry. "Exactly."
Mr. Terrific says, "Don't stick around, either."
Knight just shrugs a bit as he is ignored for the moment, and looks back towards the meet in general, "I'm in," he says. The Shaman shifts a bit and looks thoughtful, "It might be best to be creative," he adds.
Indra giggles a bit at T's words to not stick around. "Don't worry, I'll make sure the Oppressors leave on time. No Trust Em Honkey." She says, teasingly towards Abel.
Mr.Terrific gives everyone his contact information for emergency questions. "All right. Keep safe, you all, and don't let them spot you."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So, assuming everyone agrees, please tell me how you are getting across the border and with what controlled materials if any."
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "I'm using my Limo, TN 27 CF5 Smuggling Bay and +12 Chem Seal."

So, with a production of fresh SINs and the majority of dangerous contrabband in the secure compartment, the gang in the expensive limo is waved through. This doesn't seem to be a checkpoint that is on 'high alert' for anything, which which case things might be worse. Yeah, the check for Scurry takes a little while, and the wage mage notes that Abel is awakened, but that's about it. And you are through into the Sioux territory, for to drive a ways until you get to the vicinity of Troll-With-Pole's shop, Rectalwrecker Talismans. It's a standalone cottage kind of place, in a 'mall' of other stores that are similarly standalone. In another place you might expect it to be a Wiccan sort of place where they sell crystals and incense, but here it's a lot more… masculine and native american. it's also built to troll specifications; a two-story but with 15 foot ceilings and reinforced floors so the troll owner can really stretch out.
Indra will take note; good, the place is reinforced, she can probably sit on the roof with ease to watch for things, or something. "Lets go make sure T's friend is aware we are here and our side, yes?"

«Plot to Knight» 'You can see where various graffiti marks have been freshly painted over, and where some plastishield windows have had to be replaced. You also have a good idea of where the cameras are and are pointing, and it indicates to you that those cameras must have captured the vandalizers.'.
«Plot to Scurry» 'You can see where various graffiti marks have been painted over, and you have a good idea of how you would approach this building, and how you would get away.'.
«Plot to Krieg» 'You can see where various graffiti marks have been painted over, and have a decent idea of where the cameras are so as not to be seen.'.
«Plot to Abel» 'You can see some cameras. No astral nothing happening here right now, though all the buildings are warded at standard level 3.'.
«Plot to Indrakshi» 'All the buildings are warded at level 3. If you don't go into any building, you will be fine. Right now, there is no one hiding. You have a general idea of where the cameras are and where people could watch through windows.'.
Knight relaxes back a bit and looks at the sky from the vehicle while Indra drives. The Shaman passes his check, then when they arrive at the vicinity, he glances around a bit, and scratches beneath his sunglasses, "Fresh graffiti, replaced windows. They aren't kind, those camera's positions though… They must've caught a bit of the whole debacle," he voices, pointing a bit.
Indra scowls a bit at the situation. "Every thing is warded." She says and slumps back down where she sits, next to the Limo's wet bar. She can just sit right in here until problems arise!
Krieg stays mostly quiet and just observes as they get through the checkpoint. Once there it's all a matter of placement. She nods in agreement to Knight, "Likely, also we can avoid detection ourselves easily. if we stick to certain routes." Which she will explain a bit more of the cameras positionings and relative blind spots to the group, as observed.
Abel nods his head as he looks outside. "Yup. Wards. Not super strong wards, but they are there."
"Well, of course everything is warded," Scurry says. "But look. Let's get in here, and get out here," he continues, pointing to the best avenues he can see. "If all they're doing is tagging, we wait for them with their pants down."
«Plot» Krieg says, "As well as stealthily wait for night, I also would like to do a check for anything usefull around us that can be seen. Maybe there is an access route, sewer (cliche), security camera maintenance link etc."
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 1 vs TN 10 for "Large cliched sewers? (I have rolled this before)":

There it is; the network dock where all the advanced cable fibers route through. It's that funny-looking box on the corner. Normally they hide them a little better, but this one looks to be set up for ease of access and central connection to all the little shops here. Must be that the techies here in Sioux-land don't like going down into 32-inch crawlspaces to service the fiber and do new hookups.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So, if you want to mess with it, you can walk right up to it. You'll have to open the locked box, somehow, and not look too suspicious."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Looks like it has your basic maglock on it."
"Why don't we just go to a restaurant, enjoy a nice meal, and then cruise back?" Scurry suggests.
«Plot» Scurry says, "Restaurant nearby? Movie theatre? Art gallery?"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "All such things are nearby for convenience."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "it is a mildly hipster, Native American B security zone."
Krieg Seems to have spotted something just in the distance, "Who can get open a maglock panel without looking to obvious for me?" She looks around the limo at the various much more impressive people. "The little box over there can get us access to everything in the area. If we want to go that route."
Krieg slips off her backpack and starts to go through it a bit, "I do like the idea of eating…I could change into my work clothes and be less suspiscious…just need somone to get it open. Someone invisible would be useful. I'm not sure I've ever 'seen' someone like that before." She dousn't particularly say this to anyone in particular while searching her bag.
Indra shakes her head at the mention of the maglock. "You mean force it open? Maybe. You want me to run a proper bypass? Not so much. I can easily pry it open though." She says to Krieg.
«Plot After The Fact» We have a conversation about how to get in when no one has electronics kits or skill. Indra will be burning in with her tool laser, while invisible, and trying not to set off the low-grade alarm.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Let us start with a perception test as you go up to the thing, all invisible."
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 5 for "Troll-With-Pole's Astral Perception":

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Apparently TWP isn't looking out the window right now to spot invisible people walking around."

Upon careful examination, Indra can see that this is a very standard maglock (Rating 3) and it has a very standard alarm on the door that will trigger if the door is opened in a non-standard manner, like breaking it open, ripping it off, or if a car runs into this box and knocks the whole damn thing over as happens from time to time.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Assuming you have no skills and are just tool-lasering, I suggest Int, TN 8, to tool laser out the whole maglock system so you can open the door. If you fail, then you must have cut the alarm cable along with the maglock, so don't cut too deeply. I also suggest a trip to the local drugstore for some scotch tape so the door doesn't swing open in the middle of the day."
«Auto-Judge[]» Indrakshi (#6312) rolls Intelligence vs TN 8 for "Either way, I need to do this with out utterly ruining the security dohicky.":

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "You may pose going out invisibly, and just barely not cutting the tiny fiber optic alarm cord, with your tool laser."
Indra slips out, dropping away to..nothing and makes her way to the tool box, blocking the view of it from possible cameras <or just people walking by> and delicately starting to cut through the metal with her tool laser, and having to stop short when it swings open and the beam comes with in milimeters of the alarm cord! Quickly pop some gum in her mouth and chew on it..and then use it to press the casing door back to the case and let it be held in place by that. Then slink back to her limo and slip back in, right back up to the bar. "Done."
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 4 vs TN 12 for "It's the middle of the day, does someone notice a reflected light ofa laser? It doesn't make any sound.":
2 2 5 10 = 0 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Even with people walking by, the normal noise of vehicles covers matters, and the gratuitious use of invisibility powers pulls off this maneuver."
Knight gently places his sunglasses against his features, then he begins to take a nap for a moment.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Krieg, when would you like to jack in and by what method take charge?"
Krieg nods, "Perfect, now then I just need to change. Could we bring the Limo around to somewhere less obvious for em to get out and wander up to the box?" As she is saying this Krieg is already undressing in the Limo, her coveralls from the backpack laying out on the seat when Indra gets back.
«Plot» Krieg says, "A little quick change, a better starting spot to come from and we'll give it a try."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Yea verily; make a disguise roll! If no disguise, then default appropriately. Are you native American?"
«OOC» Krieg says, "I do have a specific disguise skill…but not Native American."
«Auto-Judge[]» Krieg (#6133) rolls Cosplay for "Coveralls and her backpack…not much with me otherwise. (armor still underneith)":

«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 3 vs TN 10 for "does anyone wandering by notice or care? +2 bonus":
1 3 4 = 0 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "You may pose heading out and jacking in. You can't open the door too far because there's still an alarm cable connected. Nobody gives you a second glance, wearing coveralls and jacking into what is obviously some sort of network linkage box. Hey, they aren't anti-anglo prejuidiced."
Krieg finishes changing and makes her way from the vehicle seemingly unnoticed. She casually goes to the box, and slips an optic line from her pack to jack-in and see what exactly this system is. She is careful not to open it too far, or otherwise mess with the system. Just another worker, doing worker things.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "It appears to be the network juncture box. You could turn off all the credit managers of these little stores, turn off their Matrix access,, even turn off their PANICBUTTONS. Hey, the security camera feeds go through the PANICBUTTON line. That makes sense."
Krieg goes about her work, not saying anything audible thanks to her Transducer, «Well we can do some tinkering if needed here, want anything shut down or otherwise altered?»

Krieg seems to have some trouble at first but managed to get what she needs from the system. Setting the CCTVs in the area to not display any sensor information of their presence. Once dusk hits it will just loop footage until morning hits and reset to normal. That should be good enough.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Now, please tell me of your locations of surveillance and ambushcade."
«Plot» Krieg says, "Will rejoin the others after her dastadly behavior…and stay with the Limo."
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "I'm waiting in the Limo, when the show starts I intend to gas grenade people from it. It's sealed against the stuff :P"
«Plot» Abel says, "Going to wait in the limo as well."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Let me describe: The 'mall' is made of of what looks like small 'cottages' but each one is a store. It is a winding little area with little gardens and fountains and so forth, with ways to cut between buildings and stairways and hills and roofs. From your previous knowledge, Knight especially, you know that the vandals were likely caught on film, but nothing was done about them, likely because of their political connections. But now you know that you too will not be seen on film."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "I have two in the limo."
«OOC» Mr.Terrific says, "When we get there, I will no doubt have to ask how you are shooting someoen with a grenade from inside a limo (unless the limo has a pop up turret or something.)"
«Plot» Scurry is in the limo.
«Plot» Knight says, "I will be with Krieg wherever she is."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So, right now, the plan is: Everyone hide and surveil from within the limo!"
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 4 vs TN 5 for "You are parked near a bunch of stores. In a big limo. Does anyone notice that you are taking up parking spaces and yet have never come out to make a purchase and give them your custom?":

Come about six pm, an elderly native american security officer trundles up on a meter-maid electric cycle. He appears to be headed directly for the limo, in which several people are waiting/napping.

Indra sighs and goes to get out, seemingly, no one bothered to explain their being here, so she'll proceed to do so to the cop. Soothing her coat over herself and looking bundled up against the cold as she goes. First, she needs to slip into Cherokee, to see if the AmerInd officer understands it. Then she'll explain they were told to wait around for a friend to get done with their day's work before picking them up. Some thing about an engagement related to explaining traditional AmerInd magic to a group of interested college students. Of course if he doesn't know Cherokee? She can do this all in English!
He does know Cherokee, and does slip into it a moment after apologizing for not speaking it very well (and proceeding to speak it perfectly). "Seems you've been waiting around here quite a while. I got a few complaints about the parking situation. Any chance you could move your vehicle to the big lot at the mass transit station, and just come around here to use those lovely benches?"
He indicates some of the nice benches around a fountain, with a little flower garden.
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "How far away is this station T?"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Two blocks away, which means 300 meters. Also, no visibility to the target zone."
Indra won't grumble, no reason to, the elderly cop made a perfectly reasonable request and she gives a smile to him. "Oh! Forgive me, of course." She says and inclines her head in understanding, guess she'll move the Limo!
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The limo is thusly moved to the mass transit station, where it is under the view of any number of cameras and pretty darn safe from being stolen. (You all can be let off elsewhere if you won't want to be so viewed.) If and when you return, the elderly officer will no longer be present."
«Plot» Knight says, "I will likely move out before it's parked."
«Plot» Knight says, "No need to get filmed."
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "I'm going to go from Limo to the roof of Troll With Pole's shop T. Unless the wrd extends to the exterior. I'll gear up and go there."

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So, Krieg, going to be 'hiding in plain view'? what do you do when night comes, all the shops are closed, and that becomes unreasonable?"
«Plot» Krieg says, "I'll have to find myself somewhere a bit more stealthy at that point.. Or someone to hangout with who could be an excuse to not be alone at night in a nice place. We do have a few people with us."
Abel, once the limo has to be moved, decides to ditch the greatcoat inside the vehicle and instead where a dark hoodie and a gray flatcap. When getting back to the area, get a bite to eat, have a seat and play on his phone for a bit. Once things get darker, he moves to slip into the side of one of the shops where the light perhaps isn't so bright, and have a seat in the dark, his hood up to break up his silhouette.

Scurry will do actual shopping— knickknacks, getting coffee, enjoing dinner. And then slipping a block away from Abel in another dark alley as the witching hour approaches.

«Plot» Scurry says, "Give me some scene here, man. Do I have trash to huddle between? A dumper to lurk astride?"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "There is a maglev station two blocks away where the car is marked. For one block, the place is ordinary residential/shopping zone, but not a 'grid' per se. Krieg, having found no great hiding spot, decides to opt for an ok one and drags Knight along with her to act as a cover story if discovered. She does her best to play the role of an attentive friendly companion to him while staying somewhat observant of the area.
Scurry will actually sit a block or so back, and work on his pocsec. It's a lovely night! It's a lovely area! He's dressed like a yuppie anyways.
Knight looks thoughtful a bit and casually strolls up with Krieg to speak with the woman. The Shaman chuckles a bit and gives a light flick of his scarf to draw attention. A grin, and he leans a bit to a wall while he flirts with her while remaining friendly. There might be a sparkle in there someplace. There has to be.

The group of kids (well, they are less than twenty, but full-grown, five human and one ork) are walking and murmuring amongst themselves. It would be easy to ignore them… too easy. One, they are out late. Two, they aren't talking loudly which you might expect them to. Three, they are going right on the route you plotted out for best camera avoidance. Four, some of them have 'blunt objects' at the ready, poorly concealed under Secure Jackets. One of their eyes catches Scurry's in fact, but nothing in particular happens, as if his eagle vision found something there, but not enough to panic or anything.

Scurry gave everyone some advance warning a block away. So no one is truly fully flatfooted. Still, something about the manner of their approach made it difficult to spot the group of them, almost as if they were shrouded in some sort of fog of Concealment. Indra is the only one who sees them from time to time as they cut through little back ways between the buildings until finally they have spread out to some degree as they fan out around their 'target' of Troll-With-Pole's residence. In that precious moment before hostilities commence, it is obvious that they too know they have been spotted. One is somewhat near Abel. Two are somewhat near Knight and Krieg. One is near Scurry, hanging back. The orc is out front, ready to dash for the building no doubt. And the shaman places himself as fully under cover as he can be with the ability to see his pals.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "You are 1 meter away from target at an off-angle. The radius of the neurostun is about 10 meters or so, so you dose them nicely. It will take effect at the end of the next turn. You may pose."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "And you don't dose Knight or Krieg."
Indra calculates things, blind tossing neurostun at the Shaman? Possibly bad, so she just whips a grenade from her spot to coat two of them and then drops down into concealment. Break Line of Sight from the Shaman!
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Mystery creature! The mystery creature turns out to be a City Spirit, F5, which climbs to the top of a roof about 200 meters from Indra and tags her with Confusion, since the Shaman spotted her casually and told his spirit to do so at this time of beginning hostilities. While Indra is concealed from the Shaman, she isn't fully concealed from the spirit. It will be a +5 TN for everything except soaking rolls."
The spirit, which appears like a variety of city-like things; in this case a recycling bin, is now uncongruously atop a building where it tags onto Indra. To the magically inclined amongst you, it's painfully obvious - what is that recycling bin doing up there?
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The young, athletic orc! He runs for Troll-With-Pole's building, and jumps up to climb up and beat on Indra!"

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "A neurostun grenade just went off a meter from them with a thump."
«Plot» Krieg says, "Taking threatening action towards me?"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "It does look to you, from the blunt objects they are removing from their jackets, that the answer is yes."
«Plot» Krieg says, "Well then, I guess I'll just move out of melee range with them..and find cover. Hopefully."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "You use your movement to back away."
Krieg is not much of a brawler so bravely evades away from the mean people with bats, trying to find someplace to take cover in case more grenades go off.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The shaman! He remains hidden and providing Spell Defense to those of his party he can see."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Scurry! Your go. There is one working on advancing towards you with a blunt object."

Scurry is not having with this. "*Down* boy," He says, snapping his fingers and unleashing the spell.
Lo and behold, the thug collapses into the deep, /very very/ deep level of sleep.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The spirit closes its receiving receptacles desperately to ward off the spell. Minus side: spirit is unarmed. Plus side: Spirit has used its entire defense pool."
Knight lifts up his hands a bit and smacks them together while he focuses outwards towards the spirit. The Shaman distracts it for a moment while he speaks to the commlink he brought with him, «Get it!» a light grunt when the backlash takes up to him, if only a bit. He isn't bothered by it much, why it is that he decided to assist Indra while he has two facing him down? Well, that's a question to ask if he survives. Then while he moves a bit to Krieg's cover, he grunts, "Come now, boys. You all look smart, don't be so daft!"

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "It cannot reroll; its power goes down by 3; from 5 to 2."
«Plot» Abel says, "I don't let it go."
Abel raises a hand towards the trashbin that was messing with Indrakshi. When a stunbolt washes uselessly off it's form, a tornado of magic reached out to embrace the spirit as Abel presses down on it with all the crushing weight of his will in a blanket of power that very quickly seems to be overwhelming it.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Hangers-on! I will have two who charge Krieg or Knight, whoever is closest, and one who charges Abel, and Scurry's is down."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Movement is one of those things and while I could make a big deal out of Quickness and meters and how spells don't let you move and stuff, I will ask: Krieg, do you want to be in the melee combat with Knight, and help him out distractingly, and save him from Friends in Melee penalties, or do you not?
«Plot» Mr.Terrific begins with charging Abel. "Abel, do you have a martial art with Close combat?"

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "I see Light Stun."
«OOC» Abel says, "I would like to congradulate Mr. T on being the first DM to actually land a damaging hit on me. XD"
«OOC» Abel says, "There was some bruising, a little discomfort, but my combat cherry has been broken."
«OOC» Mr.Terrific takes a bow.
It's a charging baseball-bat swing, and while Abel steps into it in approved muay-thai fashion, it still bruits him about the limbs in buffeting fashion. Not the best thing to have happen while one is working on a banishing contest!
Abel raises his arms, fists outwards as the thug with the bat rushes him with the bat. He stepped in so his shoulder was flush against the man's chest as he took the impact on his forearms, down near the handle and not up on the sweet-spot where it had a very good chance of breaking something. A pained wince from the teen. This was not a fight he had any chance of winning on his own.
«OOC» Mr.Terrific says, "Fortunate for you, the Exclusive Action of a banishment test only precludes you from other magical actions, not physical ones."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Now Knight! Do you have Close Combat on a martial art? And Krieg, are you helping in the fight to keep Knight from being swarmed?"
«Plot» Knight says, "I only have the martial arts. :("
«Plot» Krieg says, "It's better to prevent Knight from being beaten to death from their bonus for cornering him. Krieg will be as evasive and bothersome to them as can be. If they take a few swings, so be it."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So, for no other reason than Knight is male and Krieg is female, they will both attack him first. But Krieg is also in the fight, so no Friends in Melee bonuses. However, they do have +1 reach, so they will reduce their TN to 3."

«Auto-Judge[]» Knight (#12895) rolls Wildcat + Combat Pool: 1 vs TN 4:

«Auto-Judge[]» Knight (#12895) rolls Body + Combat Pool: 3 vs TN 2:
2 2 3 5 7 9 10 = 7 Successes
«Plot» Knight says, "I don't even."
It would be nice for the thuglets morale for them to claim that they recognized the brutal, rough-and-ready style of Wildcat and somehow held off. But that's not it. Really, they are battering at him as best they can and the guy is hanging on through armor, grit, determination, and protecting his head.
Knight watches as the two come at him, and he holds up his fists to the ready while he shifts to a basic stance. It is curious, they might wonder why it is he knows Wildcat, but it looks like it is solid. when they come at him he swings about to deflect a little bit of their attacks to take away the impact, which then slam right at his jacket and slide off without managing to cause him much beyond a slight shove. It is quite a display. "Come on, that the best that you can manage?" he asks, panting a bit.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "End of the first pass. Indra, 25. You are now at +2 tn to everything, not +5, as the spirit's effective force has gone down."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Indra!"
«OOC» Indrakshi says, "I'm flying to another roof, Because I'm not getting into melee with penalties :P"
Indra doesn't want to get into a fist fight with spirit+friend type of scenario, so her solution? Zip across to another roof in an attempt to get a new angle on the shaman.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Spirit! The spirit is locked down and can take no other magical action. He doesn't have any actions to take. He could attack-back on Abel along the banishment, but that would only hurry his demise. So he awaits until the next assault, (which will be Abel's next action.)"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The orc! He sees Indra fly away and curses. Dropping to the ground, he pulls a pool ball and hucks it at her. (He is, like all highly-skilled physical adepts, using Astral Perception to see Indra and Adept Centering to casually reduce the penalty of +2 to zero.)"
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 6 + Combat Pool: 6 vs TN 4 for "The strong physical adept orc throws a deadly pool ball!":
1 1 1 1 2 3 3 4 8 10 10 16 = 5 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 6 + Combat Pool: 6 - 5 vs TN 4 for "kp 1":
1 1 3 4 4 4 9 = 4 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "dodge with combat pool to reduce successes, yes. TN 4, +2 from the confusion is TN 6."

«Auto-Judge[]» Indrakshi (#6312) rolls 10 - 2 vs TN 6 for "KP8":
1 1 2 3 3 3 4 4 = 0 Successes
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "Oh fuck my life. I'll stand I guess"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "so it is 12M stun with 7 successes, so minus your 9 impact armor you face 3M stun with 7 successes with your body and the remainder of your combat pool."
«Auto-Judge[]» Indrakshi (#6312) rolls Body + Combat Pool: 3 vs TN 3 for "Soaak":
1 1 2 2 2 3 4 5 5 7 9 9 10 = 8 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Indrakshi (#6312) rolls Body + Combat Pool: 3 - 8 vs TN 3 for "KP9":
1 1 1 3 4 = 2 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Indrakshi (#6312) rolls Body + Combat Pool: 3 - 10 vs TN 3 for "KP11":
1 2 2 = 0 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Indrakshi (#6312) rolls Body + Combat Pool: 3 - 10 vs TN 3 for "KP14":
2 7 8 = 2 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Now full soak."
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "Also T: I'm entering full cover."
Using the magic eyes that all physical adepts seem to learn (because it's pretty much required here in Denver for physical adepts to learn astral perception) the orc picks out Indra's flying invisibility and centers himself for a throw like a rifleshot. It hits her dead center, too, making her curl up to protect her vitals. It also makes her fly around a damn corner, because screw that noise.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Krieg! On 1 in the second pass, you are up."
«Plot» Krieg says, "Throw random poity, bothersome, whatever is there things at the ganger guys, hmm what would I roll for that?"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Grab a trashcan and huck it?"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific Okay. So roll your Strength TN 8 (tn 4 for close range, +4 defaulting) to grab a trashcan and huck it a few steps at one of the guys on Knight.
«Auto-Judge[]» Krieg (#6133) rolls Strength vs TN 8 for "Improvised tossing of random object (Defaulted) TN:4+4!":
1 3 3 4 = 0 Successes
Krieg finds herself a small trash bin to pick up and chuck at the gangers. She does her best and manages to toss it towards them only to have the lid come off as it leaves her hands and spill the contents everyone infront of her; sending the can tumbling down nowhere near them and papers fluff into the air.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The Shaman! The shaman keeps under cover and provides spell defense!"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Scurry! Your action. You are at Moderate stun, and +2 tn to everything. You have also used up your spell pool for this turn."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "On the plus side, nothing threatens you."
«Plot» Scurry says, "Stunbolt, F6, damage level M, to the thug beating on Abel."
«Auto-Judge[]» Scurry (#1304) rolls Sorcery vs TN 7:
1 1 2 7 9 11 = 3 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Scurry (#1304) rolls Willpower vs TN 4: "tn 2 +2 for moderate stun"
3 3 4 4 4 7 = 4 Successes
«Plot» No drain.
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 4 + Sorcery Pool: 2 vs TN 6 for "resisting with willpower 4 and 2 dice spell defense, need 3 successes to take nothing":
1 1 2 5 5 5 = 0 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 4 + Sorcery Pool: 2 vs TN 6 for "kp 1":
1 2 2 3 4 7 = 1 Success
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "He will take Serious stun and be woozy on his feet."
Scurry targets the other one, the one going after Abel. His fingers contort into a claw that drags along his chest while he chants in Latin. On a snarl, he releases the spell.
Commlink-Scurry> Scurry sends, « My guy is down. I have significantly impaired, but not taken down, the attacker on Abel. Only Abel can get to the Shaman. »
Commlink-Abel> Abel sends, « Only if you want him dead! »
Commlink-Scurry> Scurry sends, « NO, you're going to have to impair him. »
Commlink-Scurry> Scurry sends, « Or pull him out so that *I* can impair him. »
Commlink-Knight> Knight sends, « You know. If we can hold out a bit, I should be able and assist. »
«OOC» Mr.Terrific says, "Third pass, Indra on 15."
Commlink-Manitou> Indrakshi sends, « This is going sideways. I am going to engage to win. I do not intend to end up in a hospital or worse due to a street Shaman. »
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "I'm quickdrawing my Tbolts."
«Auto-Judge[]» Indrakshi (#6312) rolls Quickness vs TN 6 for "Quickdraw 1":
1 1 1 2 2 3 3 3 3 5 5 5 5 10 14 = 2 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Indrakshi (#6312) rolls Quickness vs TN 6 for "Quickdraw2":
1 1 2 2 3 3 3 4 4 5 5 5 10 10 11 = 3 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So allow me to warn you here. This is the gamemaster-style warning. You are about to fail the run, if you shoot right here and now. Are you okay with that?"
«Plot After The Fact» Inter-party OOC recriminations deleted here.
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "Boo. Imma double action aiming for both guns."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So you reduce TN's by two."
Indra's weapons materialize into her hands even as she leans around the cover, range acquired, HUD flashing up probabilities, and if the Adept is as she hopes, will soon likely try to reach her.
Commlink-Scurry> Scurry sends, « Mission priority is to save Abel. Abel alone can effectively deal with shaman. »
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Fourth pass. Again, Indra's last action on 5. Shoot, or don't shoot, aiming more?"
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "Just aiming."
«Auto-Judge[]» Indrakshi (#6312) has the Active Skill Pistols with the value '7 (8)'.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Since your 'real' skill is only 7, you can only reduce TN by 3. So if you shoot, that's as good as it gets."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "End of turn! Inits!"
«Auto-Judge[]» Scurry (#1304) rolls Initiative with a result of 6.
«Auto-Judge[]» Knight (#12895) rolls Initiative with a result of 8.
«Auto-Judge[]» Indrakshi (#6312) rolls Initiative with a result of 23.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Indra!"
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "I'm holding."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The ork! Will he be dumb, or smart?"
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 4 for "Sort of a combination perception and intelligence roll to see that the flying invisible person that was pointed out to him and that he was going to have a polite little dust up with has pulled two-fisted guns on him and that's kind of escalatory":
1 3 5 7
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "I say a TN 7 is smart enough."
The ork decides that if his best superstrong pool-ball throw just made this person annoyed, it might not be the smartest thing to get shot back at. This is a radically intelligent concept for most orks, but he IS a native american ork blessed by the spirits with magical powers, so he has that going for him. He dashes for some cover his own bad self.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Spirit! Again does nothing, holding up that +2 tn."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Krieg!"
«Plot» Krieg says, "Lets try a more direct approuch..default melee here we go!"
«Auto-Judge[]» Krieg (#6133) rolls Quickness vs TN 8 for "Let's make a try at it!":

2 3 3 3 4 4 = 5 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So, that will be 4 successes on you, which stages up his 6m stun to a 6D stun. Your Impact armor is 4, so you have to soak 2D stun with body and combat pool. Fortunately, you haven't used any combat pool yet.
«Auto-Judge[]» Krieg (#6133) rolls Body + Combat Pool: 6 vs TN 2 for "Soakage with 6 Combat Pool.":
1 2 4 4 5 5 5 10 11 16 = 9 Successes
Krieg is not exactly a ninja, but she can get herself in the way of a few swings trying to keep them from Brutalizing Knight to much. She takes a solid thump to the chest and gets tossed around, but thankfully is well armored. «This is not my specialty..btw»
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The shaman! He delays his action."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Abel, on 10!"
«Plot After The Fact» There is some discussion of Abel going Astral, departing his body and leaving it unconscious in front of an enemy who is at Serious Stun but still up; so he can zoom to the shaman and fight him astrally which he's really good at, but then he realizes that that will set free the not-dead-yet spirit because Banishing is Exclusive and he would have to drop the Banishing lockdown to go astral. So he finishes the spirit.
«Auto-Judge[]» Abel (#13016) rolls Conjuring vs TN 3 for "killing the spirit":
2 2 3 7 9 11 = 4 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 2 vs TN 8 for "":

«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 6 - 3 vs TN 4 for "Against 4m stun or so kp 1":
1 2 3 = 0 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Shaman takes Light stun."
With a final blast of his will, Abel shatters the spirit and sends it back where it came from. One trashcan down, only for another spirit to pop up in it's place.
Once his spirit is fully crushed, the Shaman takes advantage of the freeing-up of the spiritual Domain so as to re-evoke a spirit. This one is inhabiting a lamp-post in a similar incongruity. But, on the plus side, this spirit is only in the Astral realm, and can't affect anything in the real world without laboriously coming in to the real.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Knight, on 7! You are at light stun, and you have two dudes in front of you. Abel's dude is at Serious stun."
«Plot» Knight says, "I want to use stunbolt on the guy who /hasn't/ gone this turn from the two in front of us., the one who hasn't used his combat pool like the guy who hit Krieg.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, " TN 4, +1 background count, +1 light stun, for TN 6."
«Auto-Judge[]» Knight (#12895) rolls Sorcery + 3 (Dragonslayer) + Sorcery Pool: 3 vs TN 6 for "Stunbolt 6D":

1 2 4 11 = 2 Successes
«Plot» Knight says, "Another Light for me."

1 2 3 4 9 10 = 2 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 4 + Sorcery Pool: 2 - 2 vs TN 6 for "2 points of spell pool spell defense kp 1":
1 4 4 5 = 0 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "He almost gets a grip.. but no. He falls unconscious. When the neuro-stun hits him it will be physical, but not kill him. (and I'm a little flexible on bleed-over with drugs and stuff when these are totally supposed to be nonlethal things.)"
Knight holds up his hand a bit and makes a few gestures while he chants within the Old Norse language. The Shaman traces the rune for the aesir within the air and while it looks like the spell might be defended, it isn't. It ripples about and in astral it looks like a jolt of mana in electrical display. A zap through the hooligan and he slumps to the ground unconscious, and he moves a bit towards Krieg, wincing as backlash begins to build up, "Back off my friend!"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Thugs!"
The thug in front of Abel no longer likes his chances of punishing the guy when he feels like he's woozy and about to pass out from being stunbolted in the head. He takes the opportunity to stagger off at an angle. The thug in front of Knight sees that his pal just fell over, and he hasn't really put too much punchie into the guy, or his chica, and he's got finger twiddling and what the heck is his shaman pal doing? He picks up his fallen pal and staggers back a few steps.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Scurry! Would you like to take an action or let me pull things to a close?"
«OOC» Scurry is OK with letting you pull things to a close.
"Hey! Mr. Shamananism Equals Vandalism! You see this punk at my feet?" Scurry rises from his seat to put his foot atop the punk he knocked out's neck. "You've lost. I'm gonna give you two options. Get the hell out of here and never, EVER return to this bullshit tagging again." He pauses. "That was one option. Do not make me enumerate the other. We are being merciful. Pick up your shit and leave. Now."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Indra threatens, Ork hides and flees. Krieg can also pose threateningly or not. But the notable thing from here is that the Shaman, as a simple, opens up Astral Perception, and as another Simple tells his City spirit to Conceal him, and starts Sneaking away. To spot him…"
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 5 for "his stealth, -2 astral perc, -1 light stun, +4 concealment":

«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 5 vs TN 8 for "Against 8S neurostun":
2 3 3 5 7 = 0 Successes
«OOC» Abel is so tempted to hurl a manabolt at L at him.
«OOC» Abel says, "Sizzle his butt."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The guy carrying his buddy is now at S stun for +3 wound penalties, and +2 from the disorienting effect of neurostun."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The unconscious guy has some physical damage, nerve tingling and twitches for the next week, to remind him that he was dumb."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Now out of combat. Do you want to toss that manabolt, Abel?"
«OOC» Abel says, "Tempting, but I get a feeling it would cost us out 10k."
Krieg promptly makes punching gestures in the air at the running people, being very convincingly threatening in her own mind as they seem to react (due to the Neurostun).
«Auto-Judge[]» Abel (#13016) rolls Sorcery + Sorcery Pool: 7 vs TN 6 for "L Manabolt, F4":
1 1 1 2 3 3 4 4 4 5 5 5 7 10 = 2 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Abel (#13016) rolls Sorcery + Sorcery Pool: 7 - 2 vs TN 6 for "L Manabolt F4 6/10k":

«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 4 + 2 vs TN 4 for "resist":
1 2 3 4 4 16 = 3 Success
«Plot» Light wound, a little scar to remember them by.
«Plot» Abel says, "F4. And the Shaman. Oh wait, I need to roll to see him, don't I?"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, " If you want to tag the shaman with something, you need to Perceive TN 14 and that could open up hostilities again and restart combat."
«OOC» Knight says, "Can I try and see the Shaman?"
«Auto-Judge[]» Knight (#12895) rolls Intelligence vs TN 14:
1 1 2 5 5 7 = 0 Successes
«Plot» Scurry says, "… Mr. T, what's in the pocket of the guy at my feet?"
«Plot» Scurry says, "Cred sticks? Equipment?"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "This guy has a wallet, credstick with loose change in it, a club, a pocketknife, a lucky rabbits foot keychain."
Knight folds together his arms a bit, "Don't come back, we don't need anyone to cause problems around here, and we don't wish to visit again," he says. The Shaman glances a bit towards Krieg while they walk off, and gives her a small pat on the shoulder, "You alright?" he asks.
Krieg walks with Knight, hopefully being picked up by the Limo while still in there non-observed area she setup. She nods to Knight and taps on her concealed vest, "See… That is why I always wear it."
Scurry leans down to check the guy's pulse. The credstick vanishes.
Scurry simply goes back to the limo, looking exhausted.
With that, you can all exit back across the border the same way you came. No blood on the ground, no windows broken, and strangely, all the security cameras show nothing. Troll-With-Pole will off-handedly mention it to a few people that the matter has 'been dealt with' and word will get around so nothing of the sort happens again. When you meet up with Mister Terrific again, he makes an offer:
Mr. Terrific says, "So, here's a deal. I pay you twenty thousand nuyen, and we speak no more of this. I pay you ten thousand nuyen, and I tell Troll-with-Pole who helped him out. If you go to his store, you'll get, shall we say, 'special pricing.' And by that I mean he'll still charge you out the ass, but he won't record it in any records and it'll all be off the books. If you gather my meaning.""
Mr. Terrific says, "One or the other."
Krieg ponders a moment while Terrific is stating the payout, "Would you throw in some gym time? I think I am still not quite there in my mastery of being hit with bats."
Mr.Terrific chuckles. "Deal."
Krieg politely bows to the generous man, "You are more than fair, Thank you very much."
