LOG:The Golden Parachute

GM: Posh
Players: BillyBob, Feather, Miyo, Posh
Synopsis: A bouncer who buys drugs from the Triads sold out the bagman to the Yakuza, who were doing it to trap the team because of Yakuza heat we've picked up. So to trap the bagman, he started joshing him about his car, and then bought a sports car and goaded him into a street race and he crashed on purpose. They laughed about it, and then the got into the car and knocked him out. He then used the car's autonav to find out where the bagman's personal stash was.

He parked the bagman's car, with its custom PV paint turned off, outside the location of the third drop, where he'd recently quit but still had a parking pass. He hustled the guy into his Americar, and then drove to the guy's stash house.

There, he called up his Yakuza buddies, who killed him for being a traitor, and lay in wait for the team that had been taking lots of jobs lately for the Triads, their trap baited.

Simple right?

Earlier in the day, Miyo had sent a message to Posh to come visit her, stating that she had something important to chat with her about. Thus, Miyo was waiting in her room. More or less waiting. She was preparing tea. She liked tea, and since Posh was British in origin, she probably liked tea as well. There were also a couple little finger sandwiches that, at the rate Miyo was eating them, would most likely be half-gone before Posh arrived.

Posh enters - it seems that the hippy elf had chosen a sort of vaguely martial pencil dress, looking a touch Boogie Woogie as she walks in. She looks down at the finger sandwiches and tea, her eartips lowering a little. "Oh, I see," she says. "Why not a nice little bowl of arugla, for the elf too?" she says, sitting down, pretending to be offended at the stereotypical spread.

"Well, it looks like you're enjoying yourself at least." She smirks a little. "I received your message, Miyo," she says. "What can I help you with?"

Miyo droops a bit at Posh's pretend offendedness. "I like sandwiches…. and tea. There was a lot more before you got her." She smirks mischieviously and eats another sandwich bit. "Well… I was wanting to talk to you about something." She states before plopping down on the edge of her bed. "I want to try and be more useful to you, and right now I'm not the best fighter. I'm okay, and can maybe hold my own against someone not prepared for a fight, but… I think I'd be better at securing escapes and stuff. Know what I mean?"

Posh shakes her head. "I don't think I quite follow," she says. "And besides. You've been progressing as a combatant," she says. "But admittedly, some of the fellows we've faced have been a little more dangerous than you'd usually like to go toe-to-toe with," she says.

"You're a lot of help to me at the clinic. And you're learning weapons…but how would you be better at security escapes? Are you talking about magic, somehow?"

"Yeah, magic!" Miyo holds up her hands and wiggles her fingers. "The people have been dangerous. I'm not really strong enough, but my magic can really help out a lot if we need to run away or something." She smiles a bit at the compliment about the clinic, and snerks at Posh's next comment.

"Well," Posh says. "It's only a matter of time. And you have so much potential, too, Miyo," she says. "Eventually, you could probably get higher grade versions of your cyberware, if you wanted, and add in some tactical communication stuff, without losing any of your magic. That'd be pretty rad, actually." She grins. "How would you use your magic to help out, though? I admittedly don't know much about the subject. I remember you often would try to turn people's thoughts, if I recall?"

Miyo nods. "That all might be neat, but yes, I can… well, if they are weak enough or at least caught off guard, control people to a degree, and if I am lucky, I can control a whole bunch. Start riots, create a protest line to block people, and all sorts of other things. I could force vehicles to crash or people to drop their weapons and stuff. Or their dresses…"

Posh smirks a bit, rolling her eyes, but she smiles a little bit. "I'm not sure I've quite seen this side of you, Miyo," she says. "Honestly, I think this is a really good idea. And with your skill with submachineguns and blades…" She grins. "Did you know that tank crews would often have similar type weapons?" she asks. "SMGs and blades. And the thing is, BillyBob and other riggers are often unconscious, as if they're astral mages, in vehicles," she says. "If you could help guard people like that, then we wouldn't have to leave someone else. And if you were an ace up the sleeve to use to ensure a getaway," she says. "You'd earn every nuyen of a share," she says, a little excitedly.

"You sure you want to do this?" she asks. "I know that magic can be dangerous sometimes. But, honestly - it's not the worst thing in the world if you go woozy when you're in the van, right?"

Miyo nods. "Yeah, that's sort of what I had in mind." She gets to her feet and munches another sandwich while pouring out some tea for herself, and a second in case Posh wanted some. "I know magic can be dangerous, but I typically don't wield anything that will hurt me too badly. Maybe just tire me out for a couple days."

Posh takes a sip of the tea now, and reaches for one of the sandwitches. "Ah. Viennese. Yum." She takes a nibble at the end of one, and then another sip of the tea. "Hmm," she says. "Come to think of it, this really would work rather well. If you were there to cover the escape, we might be able to operate a little more in the FTZ," she says. "Are you able to sort of…hide a signature?" she asks. "I've heard that some spells leave a trace. Do you have any sort of registration that your signature could be traced to? Was it ever recorded on your Real SIN that you were Awakened?"

Miyo ponders over that for a moment. "I don't think I am quite able to hide my magic yet. But, its something I can work on." She continues to think, apparently a bit unsure if she was ever registered as being awakened. "I suspect probably not, because I've only recently started using magic."

Posh gives a smile. "I see," she says. "It might be worthwhile to check with Scurry if that's the case. But in any way." She frowns a little bit. "I think this is very interesting stuff, Miyo. Should we head out, perhaps? Get a team together? I know you know I always have favors that need doing."

Miyo shrugs a bit. "That'd probably be more fun than sitting around my room." She grins. "Anyway, yeah… let's go find something to do." She packs a couple sandwiches into her mouth and then moves towards her wardrobe. "I should probably change into something more appropriate, first."

Posh chuckles a little bit. "Indeed," she says. "I think you'd be able to have more than enough," she says, thinking. "You know, we can also talk sometime about learning to control the van's autonav," she says. "In a pinch, it's better than nothing. I can drive reasonably well, but you could get it to move place to place," she says, thoughtfully. She then moves to head for the doorway.

Posh gives a little smile as she leads Miyo on out of her little room, heading over to the Aztech Luna van that's parked near the big area where Posh recently moved her clinic. It's certainly a convenient setup for Miyo now, as it's just a short walk from her room to the basement work area where the clinic's set up.

"So, it's really easy to give commands to the autonav, Miyo. There's a touch screen, and you just plug in the address, essentially. You can also command it to make a sensor sweep, and other things, remotely. Even if we don't have BillyBob with us sometime, or another rigger, you can do a lot from within it," she explains.

Miyo follows after Posh, all decked out in her mission-running gear. "Hmm… well, that does sound rather easy. I can probably do that without too much trouble." She peeks inside and looks it over a bit. "So, you have an idea for what sort of mission we're going on?"

Bull of course, doesn't usually wear anything /but/ his mission gear. But such is the life of Bull. He could usually be found where the biggest collection of prizes is; In this case the clinic. When Posh and Miyo come in, he grunts and offers them a wave from where he was cleaning and stripping his submachine guns. "Long time no see, foxy."

"Well," says Posh. "It's not really a mission. And I wonder if it might help for you to start thinking of it just more like…creating your own opportunities," she explains. "I have a whole lot of friends. I do things for them. They do things for me. Doing things for friends so…that they'll be hopefully grateful in the future…is one of the good things."

Posh gives a grin to Bull. "Hey," she says. "You know, if you're ever interested, I think there's two extra rooms down here. If you're a fan of the live-in security gig…well." She grins. "I'd need a little cash of course for digs like this, but the suite would be yours," she says. "You could have a look at Miyo's, if you wanted?"

Miyo's tail swishes excitedly as she looks over the van, and when Bull appears, it stops and she stands up. "Ah. Its the big fellow." She turns around and smiles. "You should move in."

"In any case, though," says Posh. "It is most lovely to see you. Miyo had a most interesting idea, and I was wondering your thoughts on it. I was thinking we could perhaps leverage it, and see if any of my friends need anything done," she says.

"Mmmm. I'll have a look, sure." He agrees, before smiling to Miyo. "Should I? Well, I might. Haven't settled anywhere yes, and the digs look nice. My size?" He says, shifting to his feet and moving over towards the pair. "What was the idea?"

Posh chuckles at Bull. "The ceilings are all quite tall," she says. "Anyway, the rooms cost a hundred and ten, but that's a one time thing, and they are -very- comfortable," she says. "But more interestingly," she says. "Miyo mentioned that she had an idea for covering getaways: she'd, quite simply, start a riot with her magic," she says. "Imagine. A traffic jam behind us. Or heightening panic on the streets," she says. "That'll help us, at least a couple of times, operate a little more cleanly in, for example, the FTZ." She

Miyo nods a couple of times. "Yeah, that is definitely something I could try to do. Since its magic, there is no guarantee it will work, but I can definitely make a good attempt." She smiles reassuringly.

Bull considers, tilting his head a bit as he looks over to Miyo. "That'd, I guess, be my worry. If your waggling doesn't work and we relied to heavily on it, could throw a wrench into the plans. But hell, sounds like a good enough plan. Give them something else to focus on. Or even if we plan to do a job in one area, she goes elsewheer and makes a distraction for the authorities to go to."

BillyBob rumbles into the garage in his converted food truck and cuts the engine. The rigger opens the side door and steps down, covered in dabs of photovoltaic paint after a day of hard work at the shop. He carries a spittoon cup and spits tobacco juice into it to punctuate his arrival.

"If you make sure it works, Miyo," says Posh. "And don't mind taking the hit, as you described it, I think that would be best, and more reliable," she says. "And, well, Bull, there are no guarantees, after all," she says, with a grin. She chuckles over at BillyBob as he enters on in. "Billy! You up for a job? We've got something forming," she says.

"We're going to try to run a new getaway…protocol you could say," she says. "Miyo mentioned that she imagined using a riot as a way to ensure that we could make it away quickly from the job. She could also guard your keister if you were drooling in the van, jumped into a drone or something. How's that sound?" she asks.

BillyBob wipes at his cheek where the paint refuses to come off. He says to Posh, "Yah sure. I'm kinda tired tho. Nuthin' too, uh, surveillance heavy I hopes." He spits more juice into his cup.

Miyo nods at Posh. "Yeah, I think it should work out fine." She smirks. "As long as everyone else pulls through, that is."

Bull nods his head as well. With the news Billy is getting in on it as well, he glances over to Posh. "So what is the job, exactly?"

Posh smiles to Bull. "Well," Posh says. "It's a job we need an infiltration specialist for, I think," she says. "Lucky Liu Chang, a fixer I know with the Triads and a good guy for all sorts of stuff, told me that one of his bagmen disappeared in K-Town," she says. "He wants us to get to the bottom of it. That means we'll need…" She frowns a little. "We'll need to do a little investigation. Hoping that you can help puzzle through things remotely. And then we'll probably need to hit some place, fast. What I'd love is for you, BillyBob, and Miyo to be in the van, ready for any sudden combat, or a fast getaway," she says.

"And since we'll all be linked, you can help analyze the situation too." She taps her cheek. "I'd love to work with Feather on this one. If I could distract someone so she could get in, open up access for you, Bull, or some other ad-hoc solution, I could see us puzzling something out. But we'll have to get feet on the ground, and we don't have a lot to go on," she says. "And honestly. I'll admit that I'll probably have a lot of trouble getting people to talk to me, too."

"It sounds complicated…ish… but It doesn't sound like something we can't handle, either." Miyo adds. "So, we should get started right away, yeah?"

"We should start pretty soon," says Posh. "First let me send a message to Lucky that we'll be accepting the gig, make sure he can offer a reasonable payout," she says.

There's a little frown, a moment later. "He says it's just a bagman," she says. "But he can't have his bagmen disappearing," she says. "He offers ten grand, and rights to take what we wish in the matter of resolving the situation," she says. "That means that the Triads aren't going to ask for a cut of anything. I mean, if nobody has anything valuable, it's likely to be just asking a few questions, ten grand for nothing. If there's some real trouble here, and this bagman got taken out by someone worthwhile…well, they'll likely have more interesting things," she says. "I know it's a bit of a lark, but I'd love to get on Lucky's good side," she says.

However, Bill gets a message from Macro. The Bad Omens need him to show a little muscle. Making his apologies to Posh, however, Posh gives a smile. "Believe me. I understand. And I can't quite present the same look as you can, big fellow," she says.

She turns back to Miyo and BillyBob. "All right," she says. "We can still do this, I think, but that means we'll be extra reliant on BillyBob's drone to pick up the slack, if we need some heavy support," she says.

"I've already sent a message on to Feather. She'll join us at the location on her bike. But I think first we need to have a look around the area." She gives a grin. "We'll take my Luna, all right? Low profile, a little subtler than the Bison."

With a message sent to Feather, Posh ponders, then smiles to Miyo and BillyBob. "All right, let's get in the van and get ready to head out. We're just heading a couple blocks. Load up the Triple Happiness Fish Paste pattern for the van."

Feather is, as she often is while she's on the clock, brief in her reply. "I'm not far. Send me a meet-up point, and I'll be there." She's sailing down a freeway at the southern end of the FTZ in her Suzuki Nuda as she dictates that message, in the boonies of the CAS zone. It's a straight shot to Asiatown from where she is now.

Miyo perks up a bit as the mission is ready to get underway, and so when Posh says it is time to load up, she loads up. She scurries into the van and settles in, checking to ensure that all her weaponry and equipment is ready to go before letting out a sigh. "Perfect."

BillyBob hops back into his van and rigs in, dialing up a nasty fish paste food truck paint scheme which is probably delicious to Koreans. once the rest are inside, they putter off to KTown!

Posh gives a smile to Miyo. She gets a pair of smartguns to add to the weapon stash, opening the vehicle's secret compartment to store the weapons.

She arranges for a meeting spot in K-Town, in the parking lot of a Stuffer Shack, a perfectly innocuous place for Feather to park her bike, if she wishes - or stash it somewhere in a nearby ally, its ruthenium activated.

"All right," she says. "I'll get made up. Miyo, just keep your cloak on," she says, humming. She decides to go as brunette - maybe a little mix in her ancestry, hopefully able to not draw too much attention when in sunglasses. «I suppose this is as good a time as any to test out this guise, right, Feather?» she messages.

Miyo watches Posh add her disguise and smiles. "You look nice." She shuffles around a bit and gets her cloak all nice and situated. "I should be fine. Doesn't sound like I'm going to be leaving the van all that much this time, or did I misunderstand?"

"Koreatown is probably the ideal place to test it out. You'll blend right in here," Feather replies over comms, staying on her bike for the moment. It's not entirely clear what she means by that, but judging by the derisive tone in her voice, it's not something good.

BillyBob putters into the lot in his food truck and puts a fresh pinch of dip in his lower lip.

Posh gives a quick smile to Miyo and Billy. "All right," she says. "Billy, drive us around the zone, first. We're going to make a map."

<Room Desc for K-Town on the grid>

East of Golden Monkey Street and north of Little Chiba is a network of alleyways and narrow streets known as "K" Town. Filipino, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, and various other "Tiny Dragons" inhabit this multiethnic slice of the Asian Sector.

Not being part of either the Chinese majority or the Japanese powerful minority, the different groups in this sector have difficulty creating more than little pockets of relevant identity. The street gangs here often organize along national lines and protect their identity by playing off Yakuza or Triad affiliation and suppliers, and are always looking for a better offer.

Despite this, those who live here are conscious and proud peoples, the descendants of survivors and victors of past attempts by Chinese and Japanese hegemons to control their lives. Most are aware that they hands they are dealt are not as strong as those with dragon gangs and corporate gods to back them, but that does not mean that they will ever fold.

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « I think you're right, Feather. I'm putting that disguise in place. Perhaps I have a Korean grandfather. Maybe. »

The narrow streets of K-Town are indeed clogged with traffic today. The van inches along a little slowly, and it seems there are people everywhere.

K-Town has tightly packed residential buildings, and there are just a lot of people hanging out. It's a bit hazy.

"All right," says Posh. "Lucky Liu just sent me what he had. It seems that the bagman, one Ronald Yi, was going to make a series of prearranged dropoffs. He disappeared between the second, where he was delivering to the back of Ruggong's Hot Pot, and the third, at the Hi-Class Club and Lounge a couple blocks away."

Miyo rests and gets mentally prepared for what's to come while they drive around, but eventually, she just gets anxious. "So, we should be able to find some trace of him. Someone who has seen him. Perhaps a body? Check the dumpsters and such?"

Posh uploads a picture of a slight, smiling Chinese man in his late twenties with one hell of a fauxhawk. "This is Ronnie," she explains. "Any of us will be able to show a picture of him on our pocsecs, at least," she says. "All right. Should we start at the beginning and work forward, see if we can pick up the trail, or try to work back from the last place he should have been, but never showed to?" she asks. Of course, Feather is also updated with the conversation over the comm.

Posh explains, "I can also see if there's anything I can find on the Matrix, but it might take a lot out of me to do so, and there's no guarantee of what I could find. Ideally we'd work up a set of questions we'd want answers to, and good places to look before doing that." She frowns. "The street security in this sector's pretty haphazard. I wouldn't count on being able to get the whole story from security footage, but if we found a good place to check we might be able to narrow down this fellow's timeline."

Miyo makes a suggestion. "Perhaps one of us should check on his next drop zone. He's unlikely to be there, but it is possible that at least one of us working back from there may pick up on some sort of clue while the others look around his last known location and maybe work towards the other?"

Feather pulls out of the parking lot, tailing the "food truck" at a reasonable distance. "It would be a very bold move to simply kill him and dump his body like that," she states over comms. "Most members of ktown gangs would know better than to touch a Triad bag man." There's a pause before her voice again crackles in over comms. "What do we know about how he was getting around? Was he on foot or in a vehicle?"

Posh nods. "I see," she says, for a moment. "Well, Feather can probably do so covertly, or I could, and I imagine you can too," she says, to Miyo. "You seem to have a pretty good handle on this. Who would you send to go there solo?" she asks.

There's a few minutes, it seems, and then Feather's question is answered, by a picture of a Honda 3220, a few years old, with a custom paint job. Certainly not a rarity around these parts. «This, apparently»

"Probably Feather or myself." Miyo admits. "No one will be expecting me. I don't really have a reputation, so hiding isn't a big deal for me." She ponders a moment. "I could certainly go."

BillyBob fires up the unsatisfyingly quiet engine of Posh's van and cruises through the narrow K-Town streets, grumbling. He remains rigged in and viewing the goings-on via sensor feeds, like he prefers.

"All right," says Posh to Miyo. "You go to the third location. IF something happened on the way there, they were unlikely to know where he was headed, I suppose," she says. "Feather will cover you, and will also be the one to check the route between the third and second drop," she says. "BillyBob. Let's head over to the Hi-Class Club and Lounge. We'll drop off Miyo, then make our way on over to Ruggong's Hot Pot."

"That's exactly what I was thinking," Feather replies. "I'll start running the route. The fact that he didn't arrive suggests that he didn't go straight there, if he left at all. His vehicle might be off a side street, or in a lot nearby, so it might take me a while to cover the extra ground. If anyone needs assistance, send me a ping."

Feather peels away from the van, quietly ducking into a side street to program the search route into her bike's autonav.

Miyo nods her agreement. "Okay, I won't let you down." She smiles reassuringly then looks to Billybob. "So, let's get me dropped off."
BillyBob grunts at Miyo and maneuvers the electric minibus through the narrow K-Town streets, pulling up a block short of the dropoff point. "Git off here, be careful, Koreans is crazy peoples."

Miyo arms up, making sure her weapons of choice are well hidden, then disembarks with cloak hood up and in place. "I'll be careful. Thanks." She then goes about searching the area, looking for anything suspicious.

Korea Town is a pretty small place. The two drop zones are about six blocks apart east-west, and then Hi-Class is about three blocks to the north.

The meet zone for the third drop, where BillyBob is driving Posh was supposed to be behind the Hi-Class Club. There's a parking and delivery there, a couple of staff out back smoking. There's a dumpster, a few parking spots, for old vehicles here - it seems 3220s are popular, as there's two parked out back here, next to a Jackrabbit. None of the cars are the one with the custom paint job owned by Ronald Yi. But it seems like clearly the staff here enjoy street racers of the same type as the one in question.'.

Miyo is able to find a similar situation behind Ruggong's Hot Pot. «All right, Miyo. The man the bagman was making the drop is a Shelley Ruggong, the owner's daughter. She deals a little to certain customers out front. BTLs mostly. And Feather. The front door guy, an orkish gentlemen named Johnson Park is who was going to come out back to meet Ronald Yi for the drop at the Hi-Class.»

Miyo casually leans up against a wallw here she can observe the back end of Ruggong's Hot Pot. «Are you saying I should go and ask her if she knows anything? I can do that, I imagine.»

There are no signs of a scuffle or struggle or anything, no crashed vehicle or anything incredibly obvious, behind the Ruggong Hot Pot.

There's a number of possible routes to get to the third drop from the second. It's all a tight maze of narrow streets clogged with traffic, and a few even smaller alleyways that are a bit more open. Feather, however, is able to spot what appears to be a wrecked Saab Dynamit, about two-thirds of the way through, glimpsed via a side street. It's an older Dynamit, and it appears to have a non-factory wing at its rear deck.

You paged Miyo with 'You don't see any signs of a struggle. In fact, back here, it looks completely normal. Carefully looking though, you can see some tire marks and some footprints, leading to and from the back door. Clearly someone parked back here and went in, then came back out. And there are no other cars back here, yet the shop is in operation. There was only one set of footprints, and they weren't particularly heavy, so it was unlikely a delivery vehicle loading or unloading a bunch of stuff.'.

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « I wonder where ol' YiYi is. »

BillyBob continues to putter around in the electrical van, dropping off Miyo while Feather peels off, and then hooks a left on a side street that is usually filled with nasty Korean restaurant offal. He cruises past the Hi-Class Club parking lot, then makes another loop and actually pulls in, looking inconspicuous, like a delivery van or something.

«Plot» Posh says, "Quick recap: Miyo is taking a look at the Hot Pot rear delivery entrance. She saw a pair of footprints and some tire marks right next to it, a single set heading in and back out. Feather is on the route between Hot Pot and the Hi-Class Club and spotted a wrecked Dynamit. Posh and BillyBob have arrived at the rear entrance of the club and have seen 2 3220s and a Jackrabbit parked back there, and have parked and moved in."

There is something that catches Miyo's eye, so she moves away from the wall and towards the back of the building she is observing. Her eyes follow stick to the ground as she observes some bootprints. «Seems that our guy came and went.»

Posh gives a quick wave to BillyBob of thanks, forgetting for a moment that he can't see her. She opens the side door of the van and hops out, her sunglasses on, dark clothes and a dark jacket, brunette and vampy. She moves to approach the back door and knocks.

A few moments later, the door opens. "What do you want?"

"I'm here to talk to Johnson Park," she says.

"Johnson Park don't work here no more," says the man. "Told the boss yesterday to go do something that required a lot of agility, and a very openminded goat, We just got a new gal in, to cover the door. Tanya. You want to talk to her?" he asks.

Posh thinks for a minute. "No, that's quite all right," she says. "Thanks anyway." And so she heads back to the van.

She turns and heads back to the van, her jaw set a little tautly.

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Looks like the third fellow our Bagman Yi was being sent to make a drop to, one Johnson Park, doesn't work at the Hi-Class anymore. »

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « Shall I come meet up with you? Our target is clearly not at the hot pot anymore. »

BillyBob rigs out, opening the door for Posh to get back in. "This here is a big ticket 'ta nowhere. How d'ya lose a bagman? Don't dese dreks know ya gotta chip 'em?"

Posh shrugs. "He's low level. That's why Lucky Liu's only offering ten grand for the job," she says. "That's just half of how much product he disappeared with. Even less, if we count these drops he already made," she says. "So I'm not sure he's at that level to require that. I just took this job as a favor to him - and also we can pick up anything interesting we find, I suppose, if there is anything."

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « He doesn't work there anymore? Under what circumstances did he leave? Did he quit? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Apparently he told his boss off in very colorful terms just a day ago. I felt that would be a nervous situation, so I moved to depart. You seen anything? »

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « I'm going to come meet up with you guys. Give me a few to make my way over. Its just a few blocks. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « That's very suspicious. We might be dealing with someone who thought it would be a good idea to hold up a bagman and go on the run with Triad money. For the stupid and desperate, that likely seems like a smart plan. And I just spotted something off a side street. I'm going to go check it out. »

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « I'm going to come meet up with you guys. Give me a few to make my way over. Its just a few blocks. »

It appears the Saab Dynamit, based on tire marks as Feather approached, obviously lost control and smashed into the corner of a building. The driver's side door is open. The windows are smashed, and the right front corner is devastated. This thing is being towed away in pieces. There's a number of gawkers too.

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Miyo, did you find anything out from the person who received the second drop? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Shelley Ruggong? »

Feather circles around to get another look after her initial driveby, slowing just enough to gooseneck. "There's a crashed Saab Dynamit here. I'm not sure if it's related to our investigation. I'm going to dismount and investigate. I'm uploading my location to the network." She tries to find a secluded spot to stash her bike out of sight, activating both its cloak and her own. With that done, she starts to head closer to the wreck.

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « I wasn't sure I was supposed to actually talk to anyone. That gets marginally more dangerous.

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « I agree. It's your call. If you think you're likely to get anything useful, that outweighs it, go ahead. If not, see if you can join Feather at the crashed vehicle. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « I agree. It's your call. If you think you're likely to get anything useful, that outweighs it, go ahead. If not, see if you can join Feather at the crashed vehicle where the crowd is. »

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « Probably not. He came and went. Vehicle left. Nothing suspicious. I'll meet up with Feather. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Got it. See if you can make updates on your BattleTac too while we're there. I want to have all the info I can possibly have on this. Speaking of which. Let me know if you want me to try to ask any questions here at Hi-Class. I think you're right, Feather. Something's very fishy here. Be careful. »

Miyo would arrive at the scene, too, on foot. She's got the running thing down, at least. She stops nearby and just observes from a distance.

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « What are the chances that it was our guy? »

As Feather gets a little closer, she can see that people probably aren't getting that close because there's some leaking fuel. The crashed vehicle also appears to be emitting some kind of smoke, but faintly. There's still about a dozen people hanging around, chatting, it seems, more because being around a wrecked old luxury car is more interesting to them than the usual pornography.

Feather slips silently between the gawkers, doing her best to lean in through the car's smashed window, grabbing whatever data chip stores the insurance, license, and registration information of the owner.

There is, of course, the vehicle's transponder chip. Since there's no need to retrofit the slot of a normal one for the library, one would have to take that out to get formal registration info.

A glance in the glove box, however, reaching behind that hinged bit where stuff always falls, produces a small victory. A paper version of a vehicle service contract - one of those ones that are pushed by small wholesale lots on commission - hard to collect on, and which has at a glance a name.

Johnson Park.

Feather grabs the paper, stuffing it into a concealed pocket before she leans out of the car. She sneaks off, getting a good distance away before she speaks.

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « Johnson Park. Has that name come up before? »

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « Pretty sure Posh mentioned that name earlier. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Indeed. It's the name of the bouncer who was supposed to be receiving this drop. »

A small tow truck, of the type owned by a small towing company, starts to pull up, and the crowd starts to disperse, getting a little bit bored as a result. There's probably not going to be anything more interesting happening at the moment. None of them seem to be paying any direct attention if Miyo doesn't approach too closely.

The tow truck looks a bit old, and the one guy in it definitely seems to be a local. A small, wiry Korean-American fellow, about fifty-five, high hairline but not quite balding.

BillyBob sits in the van, waiting. He lifts a cup to his lips and spits tobacco juice into it. Then he glances at the sensor again.

Posh glances to BillyBob. "Hey," she says. "What do you make of all this? You're certainly in on the comms."

Posh ponders for a moment. "All right," she says, contacting Lucky for a moment, via her deck. She then relays images to Feather and Miyo and BillyBob.

"This is everything we know about Johnson Park. He's worked a few places as a bouncer, since going into semi-retirement. He used to run with the Rings, never tried to become a made man or anything like that."

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « I dunno, did she ask the witnesses if anyone heard a shot or sumthin'? Maybe somebody capped dat driver after he made da pickup. »

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « What is Park's connection to the bagman? »

Johnson Park is a smooth-faced, half Latin, half Korean-man who looks younger than he is, mid-forties. He apparently has been receiving pickups, moderate sized ones, likely to sell onto a few friends and acquaintances for cash on the side, at the Hi-Class for a number of years. Real reliable guy. He's got a basic set of reflexware, a single cybereye for an old-fashioned display link and a smartlink, aside from that, years of experience.

«Plot» Posh says, "From the info Posh receives from Lucky, about his own bagman and customers."

«Plot» Posh says, "Present display of clues: Miyo was able to confirm the second drop was likely made by Ronald Yi. The players know the third drop was never made. Posh found that Johnson Park, the third drop's recipient, no longer works at the Hi-Class Club, and saw two 3220s and a Jackrabbit in the rear parking lot of the Hi-Class. Feather found a crashed older Dynamit with a vehicle service contract for indeed a Dynamit of the appropriate year, purchased by a Johnson Park. He was a bouncer there for a few years; apparently ran with a Rings affiliate before that."

As the tow truck operator starts to head towards the crashed vehicle, the few dozen or so people hanging out around here head back to cafes and doorways in the immediate vicinity, having lost interest in the vehicle a bit.

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « So, it seems like they are getting ready to clean up this wreck. Do we know if the guy is inside or not? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « I don't really know. Feather's the only one who had a look inside. Feather mentioned that the name Johnson Park has come up again. »

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « Apparently its his car… but is it him inside? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « It's his car? Was anyone inside? »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « Nobody was inside. The driver door was open. I presume whoever crashed was either pulled out or left in a hurry. »

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « Explains the lack of emergency vehicles. Let me see if I can get close and pick up his scent or something. Maybe I can track them down. »

There's still a few dozen people near the area where the crash happened. It's sort of an area where there's roads and also commercial al fresco dining, food cars, plastic chairs, bottles of cold beer and soju. The crash seemed to have happened near that hangout, that's why people aren't dispersing.

The tow druck driver continues to work, securing the Dynamit and then beginning to winch the wreck onto the back of the truck.

It's pretty easy, with her power of Improved Scent, for Miyo to catch a little extra scent, a little inappropriate to the setting. It's just the barest traces of an expensive cologne in poor taste. Not the kind of thing likely found on any of the people hanging out.

The scent seems to lead in the direction of the Hi-Class Club. At least, that's the most pertinent landmark. But it goes just a very short distance.

And then suddenly stops. The scent trail just ends.

Miyo stops suddenly when she gets to the end of the tracks and ponders a moment. «Scent disappeared close by, in the direction of the Hi-Class Club… Sort of. Like, its nearby but not exactly outside. Something weird is going on.»

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Hmm. Looking at this. Here's a picture of Roland. And here's a picture of his car. ((Roland, with his custom painted 3220 with a screaming dragon paint job, is seen in another photo, presumably supplied by Lucky 'Liu' Chang)) »

«Plot» Posh says, "It appears at the time of the accident that likely only the driver was in the car, based on the deployed airbags."

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Do you want me to ask anyone anything? Or do you want to stay out of sight? That's the thing about asking, people remember you. »

Posh asks Billy to take her over to the crash sight, or nearby. Posh hops out and sees the gawking, glancing over at the dynamit about to be turned away. "Yeesh, looks all exciting," she says to a guy at the newsstand. "Hey, I'm a big fan of the news. You got any local news I'd be interested in, along with a number of your magazines?" Posh asks, a little smile. "Like what was that all about?"

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « Considering that the uh… scent just disappears right here. I'm going to suggest that he was probably taken. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « He likely got into another vehicle. »

"Well, it wasn't quite in sight," says the man. "All I know is I heard loud engines. Two, high revving. Like they're racing on the street, damn idiots Then a huuuuge huge crash. I heard just one engine idling for a while, then some doors slamming, and then it was just one engine after that. They were talking, couldn't hear what they were saying. Sounded like they were both laughing though. Both guys, thirties or forties, but you know that type that never groes up and still calls each other 'son?' That type, you know"

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « «Posh relays the above info to the team» Witness info seems to confirm that theory. Wasn't sure what to make of this otherwise. Sounds like there was laughter. So one didn't walk away? That sounds like they might have left together. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « At that speed, in a vehicle that well-built, you have a fairly high chance of surviving without serious injury. I'm not sure what to make of the story you were told. Either our mystery man wasn't drivingjoyriders had stolen his car, maybe?or he was. And if he was, why did it crash? An accident is possible, but it seems too coincidental in this situation. Insurance fraud? Maybe he was leaving town after stealing the money and wanted to cash out, so he wrecked his car? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « So we know this Johnson Park probably had this vehicle. I've run the info on the vehicle service contract you found. It seems like it was purchase along with the vehicle. Two days ago.

They don't have much history together that they know of. He mentioned that they had a talk and he mentioned that some idiot was saying 3220s were 'shit' apparently, and that he could prove it. Apparently that was only his last round of deliveries. Four days ago. Johnson Park turned in his resignation at the Hi-Class yesterday. »

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « Didja see any blood trails around der? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « The fellow I talked to mentioned he heard laughing after the crash. »

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « Oh he thinks this izza game? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Let me see what I can find on the trix, based on this vehicle service contract you found. It should probably be green hosts. That might help us create a picture. »

It is almost too fast. But Posh's goal is not anything too dire. It's just to attempt to break into the records of the company that sells vehicle service contracts. No doubt a recent purchase with no claims, since the vehicle was purchased by Johnson Park a mere two days ago. A day before he quit his job.

It seems that the vehicle service contract also noted a bunch of exemptions. The Dynamit had had a number of aftermarket parts installed, meaning that the vehicle service contract refused to cover the powertrain, and was only for infotainment and electrical equipment, as well as part failures on the suspension.

Johnson Park had had the new vehicle covered under insurance. It also records that the vehicle service contract was paid for with a certified credstick.

The Dynamit in question is fifteen years old, but still in decent shape. Or at least, it was in decent shape, before the crash. It's an old sports car with a pretty big maintenance risk, but the Saab brand isn't all that glamorous, so you can get a lot of performance for a good price in the used car makret.

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « I don't know. It seems Johnson Park or whoever he spoke with after the crash might think this is a game though. »

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « So… This is getting rather convoluted for a 10K job. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « It was 10k plus whatever we find. And it seems like we're finding something substantial. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « So he quit his job and bought this car at about the same time? »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « For what purpose? To race? »

"So we have this information that a few days ago, Johnson Park baited Roland Yi about his car. Then shortly afterwards he buys a sports car. Now his car's crashed, and he, Roland, and his car are gone. We know that he's been the guy Roland dropped to for a couple of years. It appears they had a joking relationship." says Posh thoughtfully over the comms.

"Johnson Park also has another contract with this service company," transmits Posh thoughtfully. "It was for a Ford Americar. There are a number of claims on that one, going back years. Just minor stuff."

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « What are the chances their joking is no longer funny? Park hit a sore spot somewhere and all of a sudden Roland gets pissed. Comes in, wrecks his car, drags Park off, and now… yeah. I mean, it could work? Would explain the interactions after the crash. »

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « Wut if they were LOVERS »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Precisely what happened doesn't matter. What does that mean? Does that mean Johnson wanted Roland Yi's car? Why would he want his car? What could a bagman's car have? »

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « Whatever he was transporting? And a grudge? »

comm That could very well be BillyBob. Miyo. So Roland gets pissed and wrecks Park's car? How? With his? Park just got this thing.

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « That could very well be BillyBob. Miyo. So Roland gets pissed and wrecks Park's car? How? With his? Park just got this thing. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « I know that if someone stole my van, the thing I'd be most concerned about its is autonav history. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « So they race. There's a crash. Then what? Where is he now? If we could get into GridGuide, we might be able to locate either Yi's 3220 or Park's Americar. I would imagine something happened to Yi, though. He wouldn't simply stop reporting in to his boss, even if he had killed Park. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « What was Yi's route, again? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Well, I suppose he'd go to his stash house, and then make his drops, west to east, then take the loop home. Most of these guys are pretty independent. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « He was transporting chips, chems, and BTLs. That's just what I call where someone keeps their own stock. He buys, and he makes deliveries in person, but he does business on his own account. So, he gets some orders, makes some payments and buys product, then takes probably most of it home, or to a stash, and then makes his daily deliveries then. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « Oh. I thought he was just a bagman. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Well he is. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « He's a good one. With a custom 3220. He has his own stash, and makes drops for other people. »

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « Ooh a stash? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « And Lucky Liu was willing to pay ten grand to find him. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « A bagman is someone who collects and distributes dirty money for an organized crime group. Usually bribery or racketeering. Money that isn't theirs, that they don't touch. In almost every case, a bagman is a low-level functionary whose defining trait is that they're highly trusted, since they're handling large sums of cash for someone with far greater power. If this guy is a drug courier and a dealer, then yes, his "friend" might've boosted his car to get at his personal stash. Which is probably where we should be heading now, if we're not already too late. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « He's a young kid who Lucky Liu knows. He often does tasks and favors for Lucky Liu. In return Lucky gives him deals and he has a personal stock he deals to his friends for. I'd say he's pretty highly trusted, since in this case he was making drops for Lucky. And I don't know where his personal stash is. We'd have to find where his car is. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « I don't have the horsepower to get into GridGuide or find the Americar. Is there any way we can figure out what happened so that we can figure out where that 3220 might be? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « God, 'young kid.' I'm so old. Roland Yi is twenty-seven. »

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « Gettin' old! »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « I'm not sure. Racers thrive on attention. We could check social media sites to see if they have accounts. There may have even been spectators, if they were racing. Neither seems likely, if Park was planning to hold him up, but it's worth looking. »
comm What's the chain of events here?

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « What's the chain of events here? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Four days ago, Park makes fun of Roland about his 3220. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Two days ago, he buys a dynamit. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Yesterday he quits his job »

comm Today his Dynamit crashes, laughing is heard after the crash, and now he and the person whose car he made fun of disappeared.

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Today his Dynamit crashes, laughing is heard after the crash, and now he and the person whose car he made fun of disappeared. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « I'm not sure why someone quits their job in such dramatic fashion, unless they've either recently received or are planning to get a large windfall. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « But it doesn't seem that Park's been a racer a long time. He just had an Americar until he suddenly buys a Dynamit two days ago. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « So Park is either expecting or received a large windfall. Could the Dynamit have been some way to like…bait him or make good on his threat? And then they race? And then Johnson crashes? But they know each other, right? What would happen then? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « The driver's side door was open. Johnson got out of the vehicle. Laughter. Now the vehicle and both men are gone. And just a tow truck came to remove the vehicle, right? »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « If I had to venture a guess, I would say he was baiting Park into a race he was planning to lose. He was planning to throw the race, crash his sports car, and steal Park's vehicle, hoping to get at his stash. Either that, or he had a massive bet riding on this race, which he expected to win with his "superior" car due to an overabundance of confidence. And after he crashes due to his inexperience, finding himself with no job to fall back on, he decides to steal Park's stash out of rage and desperation. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « So does that put him in control of the 3220 after the crash, either way? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « What would he do with it then? »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « It sounds like things were friendly when Park got into Yi's car, if that's what happened. The man at the news stand said they were both laughing after the crash. Which means the friendliness was either a ruse, or things only soured later. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Either leads us to the same conclusion. Roland and Park were in that 3220 after the crash, and left in it. That would also explain the disappeared scent that Miyo found. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Where could that 3220 be? Where would Johnson have gone? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Let's see. Obviously this happened between the second and third drop, right? Park must have baited Yi, either way, into a race. Then either he crashed on purpose, or he failed to keep up and crashed accidentally. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « If we assume Park used Yi's autonav to take him to his stash, the car may have taken him to the final stop first. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « We might find more information there. Beyond that, I can't think of any way to track him down, barring bringing a decker in. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « What about the Americar? Where would that be? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Why would we make that assumption, necessarily? Maybe they went somewhere and swapped cars. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Maybe Roland was in on it somehow? »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « We considered that. But why would Park buy the car out of nowhere, then? Unless we're missing something about the crash. And what would Roland stand to gain? What would he steal that would be worth angering his boss? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Let's see if we can get more pieces before we speculate. He only quit yesterday, right? Maybe he has a parking pass in the area. We need to find the car to find the stash, right? We know where the car likely last was, right? It's either at the stash, which we have no idea where it is, or it's somewhere in the area, it seems.

You know, I saw two 3220s and a Jackrabbit behind the Hi-Class. But none of them had a custom paint job. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « Did we check the plates? »

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « If they used autonav there'll be record in the system. I dunno if we kin hack dat. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « No, I didn't check the plates. Should we head back there? »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « It doesn't sound like we have any other leads. »

It's a pretty quick trip back to the parking lot of the rear of the Hi-Class. There's a pair of 3220s still there, but there's no more Jackrabbit. There's a couple of other empty parking spots. A small puddle of coolant is in one of the parking spaces. There's an overflowing dumpster nearby, with the refuse of the fakely 'Hi-Class' club.

"I don't know if I can run the plates, but we could check the vehicles for clues," suggests Posh.

Posh breaks her way into the vehicle's autonav system and starts retrieving what she can find in there. "I think it was wiped recently…but I might be able to…yeah, this guy was no pro. Simple delete. Got it.

It seems that the last address that wasn't one of these drops is a small townhouse nearby."

Of course, when you arrive there, at the townhouse, there's an Americar outside.

"Well," says Posh, looking at the small two-story townhouse with attached garage. "That's Johnson Park's car before he bought the Dynamit." The second story of the townhouse extends over the garage. The Americar is outside.

"I suppose we're going in." She looks around, then nods to Billy. "Pull up really close. So that the Doberman can jump in if we need it."

Posh gets out, as well, signalling to Feather to cover her, secretly, under cover. She moves to open the door, finds it unlocked, and steps in.

"Ah. Took you long enough," says one of them, with a smile. "You and your operation have been troubling our brotherhood. We figured holding up a bagman like this fool would work. We know that Trevor and his uncle have been using outside resources. Something like this? Those lazy cretins. Never send gaijin to do the work of civilized people. Johnson Park, here, betrayed his friend, all for a payout." He holds up a credstick. "He traded his honor for a hundred thousand nuyen. But he forgot honor is the only thing that you can keep when you die. I think I'll be keeping this, after all, Mr. Park," he says, a quick spit on the body."

Posh glances for a second. "One second," she says, playing for a little time, hoping Feather has some idea. "Why not kill Yi?" she asks.

"I may as well tell you," replies the speaking man, while the other covers Posh with a suppressed HK-227. "Yi, while a fool, did not betray anyone in this. He is a pawn. He was not my target. There is no pride I could have in killing a good servant. He will remember the superiority of our brotherhood in this matter. That will be enough for Mr. Yi."

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Billy…hold. They'll take me down if they see or hear that drone. But be ready to deploy it, fast. »

And Miyo and Billy outside can hear the loud engines of a bosozoku gang pulling up. There's about five them, approaching, high-revving Kawasaki engines with their signature howl. They all seem young, and are wearing just ordinary biker gear. Probably just the locals arranged as reinforcements.

«Plot» Posh says, "You and Billy are in the van. Feather, who is roving support, is where she wants to be given an 'approach to a townhouse.' Posh opened the door and was immediately covered."

BillyBob remains seated in the driver's seat of Posh's van, rigged in and watching via the van's sensors. "Uh. Does dis van have any guns on it?"

«Auto-Judge[]» BillyBob (#10588) rolls Intelligence + 4 for " sensor sweep clearsight":

«Plot» Posh says, "Based on the rather exhaustive sensor sweep, the house in question is a townhouse that is two-stories, the higher story wider because it's on top of the attached garage. These houses are in a row, right next to it is a house. There are three windows on the second story and two on the first story.

There's nobody on the upper level of the two-bedroom townhouse, and there's a staircase leading up to the second story. There's also a kitchen window for the first floor kitchen. So accesses to the house by this point might have been through the back windows, first or second story, or perhaps over the garage window and then down the stairs."

«Auto-Judge[]» BillyBob (#10588) rolls Small Unit Tactics:

«Plot» Posh says, "BillyBob is able to use the powerful sensors to build a map of the immediate area, finding no other metahuman signatures aside from the five approaching bikers, who look to be about thirty seconds away, and the three in the building along with Posh. He's also able to upload this map and information directly to Feather's HUD."

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « You got this Billy? Talk to me. The link's open… »

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « I'm uploadin' da map to Feather. »

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « There's uh, a harpoon on dis thing, but I dunno. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Oh. That's for…hunting »

A little sweat shows on Posh's forehead. Feather hasn't uploaded her data, externally, into the battletac system - the last info she got was when Feather'd dismounted her bike ticking on thirty seconds ago. She hopes that Feather's got an idea for how to keep this situation in check and keeps her hands up.

"So that's what you are?" she asks. "I suppose I have always had tell to heard of the Yakuza's honor. So might I have the honor of hearing who's about to kill me then?" she attemps.

"Well," sneers the man. "Since you're going to be a flatterer, I suppose there's no harm in indulging. We've got you and your friends surrounded. Thought you had a getaway, all planned? We've been watching you ever since you came right to the route in that stupid van of yours. Triple Happiness Fish Paste? That's offensive, by the way," he says.

Posh winces a little.

Commlink-Kit> Miyo sends, « I can try. Its got a radius… so… if they are too far away from each other it might not help. »

The five bikers, though, as they approach, are rather tightly packed, and they pull to a stop, a couple of them loosing jackets and showing holstered pistols and SMGs. One takes off his helmet to show off his bright green spiked hair and evil grin.

The Yakuza smirks "Look here, you arrogant, fake, English bitch." Posh had been so surprised, after all that she'd let her accent slip. "You don't get to talk to me about honor, anyway. «Plot» Posh says, "MEANWHILE…"

Thanks to some keen observation by her team, Miyo was ready for the goons that were called in for reinforcements. Before they could get inside to help, her magic had descended upon them, driving them into a furious rage. Well, when you're a gang banger, its not hard to et that going. So, a few moments later, a brawl breaks out as they begin fighting over each other as they become more and more paranoid about everything around them.

BillyBob remains sitting watching in the Luna van, snickering as he sees the approaching go-gangers stop and go ham on eachother.

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « Fraggin' drekkers is fightin' eachother.

«Plot» Posh says, "Shining Mountain will be here before too long. And it'd be good to not have to explain things to them. Plus, they often show up firing."

succeeds with flying colors. Almost immediately, it turns into a madhouse, one ripping off his helmet and throwing it as his comrade, the other just clubbing him in return with an SMG. A gunshot rings out as well as one of them is shot in the thigh by another. The scene descends into a nightmare of fighting, though Miyo is certainly forced to direct all of her conscious focus to maintaining the spell.

But BillyBob has a clear coast, if he needs it. Maybe. But with the gunshots…

Feather trails behind the rest of the team in relative silence, the 750 CC's of her bike's tightly-tuned, high-performance engine going mostly unused in the task of keeping pace with an electric van.

Dismounting upon arrival and retrieving her weapon case from her bike's secure storage, she follows Posh's lead as instructed. As the British woman moves to enter from the front, she sweeps the back to cover her, making sure there's no unexpected surprises from behind. And it's through an open window to the rear that she hears Posh's dilemma, her helmet's hearing augmentation kicking in. It's not clear what's on her face behind her helmet's armored visor, but it's probably not good.

Braggarts. The "less-civilized" members of the Triads. And those who threaten to kill those close to her. Three things most people don't like, but that she hates with a passion that shows more in her actions than on her usually impassive pace.

Rather than try to cram herself through the window, she takes advantage of the already open front door, circling back to the front, tracing Posh's footsteps. She's hoping her ruthenium-coated smartsuit will carry the day, not that she particularly needs it with how adeptly she sidesteps their line of sight.

Posh has seen what happens next before. The faintest sound of polished metal sliding against a felt sheath, the click of a compartment within the case strapped to the Chinese woman's book, and then a flash of polished steel and orichalcum as Feather's long blade does its work. The first cut is lethal, dropping one of the enemies instantly in a wild arterial spray. It's a disturbing art form she has mastered: learning how to not get blood on herself in moments like that. The follow-up strike against the other man is no less brutal, though he's already reacting, and she misses the clean kill. He half-screams as he clutches his torso, collapsing to one knee, raising one hand in surrender as his gun drops to the floor. Feather either doesn't see him give up, or she doesn't care. She doesn't slow down, kicking him in the face, the follow-up finishing as he falls backward.

"You get yourself into trouble sometimes, Posh," she says quietly over comms, her voice chiding.

BillyBob is in Posh's van outside, snickering at some crazy go-gangers who are brutally attacking eachother, but his eyes slide to Posh's cybereye feed with interest. After feeding map data to Feather, he watches her give the Yaks a shellacking through Posh's eyes, whistling through the comm as if impressed.

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « Daaaaamn she fragged them choi-boys up. »

Posh glances back at Feather. She wrinkles her nose a bit, as if she is surprise. She purses her lips however, and then she speaks, instead of comms: "Hmm. I suppose if I were to protest, you'd just explain that you do the things that need to be done that I am squeamish about," she says, after a moment. "Yes. I do get myself into trouble I suppose," she says, perhaps a little rattled. After all, that guy had a gun on her and an SMG buddy for backup. That could have seriously gone wrong.

She is quick, however, on the process of looting: the two weapons taken. "Well," she says to Yi. "This is your stash house. If I were you, I'd take care of your own business here," she says. After just a moment, finding nothing on the men with a shake of the head, she shifts over to the dead Johnson Park.

"Well," she says. «We've got Johnson Park's credstick,» she transduces into comms. «And nobody necessarily needs to know he's dead» she says, with a grin. «BillyBob. How'd you like to be the proud owner of a two day old Saab Dynamit? With just…a little bit of body damage. If you don't want it, Rollo sure will be willing to pay.»

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « Fuck swedish cars omae »

Posh leans down to take imprints of Johnson Park's fingerprint, then his palmprint, then reaches down to open his eyelids in order to get a retinal scan. "If this fellow's going to disappear now," she says, "he could still be of use." She moves to retrieve the shaken Yi. "I'd call Lucky for backup if I were you. We're going to be off now," she says, smoothly, her works hearable over the comms as well. "Let him know we were happy to be of use, and that we'll look forward to that ten grand. Ciao." She then turns, and gives a quick nod to Feather.

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « It's an expression. We can just sell the wreck for parts, as is. But would you like to be able to be Johnson Park if you need to? He just quit his job, bought a hot car, and disappeared. That's a pretty solid ID to have. If you don't want it, I'll take it and sell it to someone else. This with a polymask would be solid. »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « The only issue is how many enemies this betrayer has already made. Just be careful that you don't inherit the scores others want to settle with him along with his identity. »

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « No I don't want no relation to a dead man's car who probly got warrants. Let's git outta here. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Well, he wouldn't exist again until BillyBob needed a new face. Well all right. How do we get the car out of impound to sell then? »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Yeah with that, I can almost certainly pretend to be his girlfriend. BillyBob just needs to come with a rented truck. We'll take care of that later, and set up dropping it off for Rollo. And I'd be almost sure it'd be taken there, for delivery to a body shop later. This clearly wasn't a police matter, I suppose. »

Commlink-BillyBob> BillyBob sends, « Get whatcha need 'ta git and git out 'afore these gangers stop killin eachother or the police shows up! »

With Johnson Park's credstick taken, and with a plan set up to easily arrange the damaged car's acquisition from the CAS sector lot to the chop shop in the 'Rens, where it'll probably be parted out, and with BillyBob not wishing further connection to the man, Posh decides to hold onto it. "Maybe I'll take up cross dressing," she says, with a little chuckle. She nods to Feather, heading to slip out of the door, leaving Ronald Yi with the bodies and some Triad help on the ray, as he's already rushing to a phone, now freed by the two who've rescued him from the Yakuza. She heads to the van for BillyBob to escape with her and Miyo, leaving Feather to depart herself and get on her own bike.

"I wasn't going to say that," Feather says, not immediately replying. The two exit in quite a hurry, Feather's bike uncloaking as she approaches, the Hong Kong Hitgirl stowing her gear and throwing a leg over, a brief moment of engine preceding her rocketing off. She breaks away from the van, going her own way, though she stays within comm range.

"I don't delight in massacre. I won't even say it was necessary to kill them," she eventually says over comms, her voice a little quieter. "I just don't hesitate in battle. I could have tried to take them down nonlethally, but time was a critical factor to ensure the best outcome. And I judged them not worthy of taking the extra risk to leave them alive. More than that, these types of thugs hold grudges. Mercy then would have possibly resulted in other lives lost, certainly of Ronald Yi himself or other gangsters in the future, perhaps of us later. That's if they got away, without Lucky Liu ordering them killed later, which also seemed like a certain outcome to me."

BillyBob fires up the very quiet and unsatisfying electric engine on the Luna van. "I guess she got her own ride?" he asks, as Posh slips into the van where Miyo is knocked out. "Let's git, dey might know us in KTown!" And off he drives through the winding side-streets.
