The Al-Geico Assassins

GM: Mr. Terrific
Players: Tailpipe, Stephanie, Double Tap, Flint
Synopsis: In keeping with Thematic Setting: The Airport Job; the people behind The Airport Job hire an arab terror group to make a hit on some Israeli avionics technicians (as Israel is a world avionics leader and said avionics are going into the plane that is to be stolen.) Actually, the people running The Airport Job intentionally leave a data trail when they are hunting up the living arrangements of the Israeli avionics technicians, so as to force Knight Errant to put a high-level anti-terror anti-assassination squad on them and hopefully make them waste manpower tracking it back. Instead, one of Falloon's flunkies just hires a Shadowrunner team to stop the assassins…
Date: August 28, 2071

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "As usual, I ask for consent because dangerous stuff can happen. This will be a 'base' 25k mission, for which you are getting a bonus +25k for circumstances; and possible bonuses. That will be the danger level you find yourself in."
«Plot» Stephanie consents.
«Plot» Double Tap says, "Consent given."
«Plot» Flint says, "I consent"
«Plot» Tailpipe says, "I consent, long as I can hit on people."

Maybe Tailpipe can hit on people. Because this meeting place is upscale UCAS, in a meeting room of a government office usually used for other tasks (it used to be a Department of Motor Vehicles until that got consolidated.) It has all the security goodies, as well as grumbling Knight Errant types outside making a show of 'looking the other way' for those people that have the connections to know what's going on.

Flint disguises himself as, Big Bald Black Ork. Its not much of a disguise, a bit of skin coloration and some shading to his facial features to try to hide most of his identity. He also wears his backup armors, the ones that don't have his usual cowboy style. He hides his weapons in the secret compartment on his bike, and heads in with his concealed pistols as well as his shock gloves. No need to openly advertise in this neighborhood.

Tailpipe always hates going into those 'nice' places and parts of town. It usualy means she can't carry any hardware with her. So she takes only minimal gear on this trip, a few grenades stashed inside pockets and her stained and worn coveralls to hide them in.
That settled she finds a ride into that part of town and heads to the meet with a surley look on her face (or some sort of look, always hard to tell), and the chromed cyber-type skull freshly polished where it sits wedged between her horns.

Stephanie, AKA Moonmist, clomps into the meet, surveying the others assembled from on high… it's hard to not look down on people when you're 12 feet tall. She's dressed in simple black: Denim jeans, black blouse and a black longcoat. She's also carrying a duffle bag, containing who-knows-what.

Double Tap doesn't own any nice clothes, so she makes do with just not wearing her plated vest into the meet. She leaves it in her can, along with the rest of her hardware. She has a pistol tucked in an inside pocket, but who doesn't these days? And a pair of black gloves complete with lead weights in the knuckles.

A >breep< noise comes about as Flint heads in, causing one of those guards to elbow the other. "Off, idiot." This comes right about when the noise goes >BREEPBREEPBREEP< for Tailpipe's entrance. They silence whatever is making the noise and direct the entrants down the sterile hallways to the meeting room. It is, at the very least, troll-capable, which means it's close to giant-capable. And soon enough everyone is in the room with a woman who would at one point have been called a secretary, but is now called an 'administrative assistant.' "Thank you all for coming," she says in a perfunctory fashion, while throwing a rare smile towards Double Tap for some reason. "I'm glad you've come. Our decking team detected penetration involving the travel details for for an Israeli avionics team who are going to be in town for the next several days to see to an important installation and upgrade. When we followed up with other sources, they indicated a possible assassination attempt. Your job is to foil this assassination. If you happen to gain viable information for packtracking, there may be a bonus. You may either attempt to halt the assassination in an agressive manner, by ferreting out the assassins and killing them before they can make their attempt, or engage in a defensive action around the avionics team."

Doubletap scowls a little when she hears who the target of the assasination is, "Is there any lead on who is making this attempt?" She asks. Her Israeli accent is even more noticable, given the context.

The secretary says, "That is your job, if you attempt an offensive path. Our information that led us to believe it may be an assassination is not directly actionable."

Tailpipe stands against a wall as she listens, pulling out a half-smoked cigar out of one her pockets while a handful of used food wrappers fall to the floor from the same action. Putting it to her lips she lights the thing up and instantly a foul smell starts coming from it, along with an oily looking smoke that clings around TP. "Is good at stopping shit. Is liking pay too."

Stephanie edges away from Tailpipe with a soft (for her size at least) cough as the latter lights up the stogie, leaning against another wall and listening as well, not wanting to risk damaging the office's chairs by trying to sit on one of them.

Double Tap nods her head a bit, still frowning contemplatively. After all, she might live in America now, but it's not her home. "Will you be able to provide us with copies of what you have found, to assist our search?" She asks then. She looks around and finds it doubtful the group will be able to do much in the way of investigation. Can't hurt to ask though.

The secretary asks, "Any other questions?" She passes over a folder and chip detailing the three avionics professionals. Moshe Tavor, Shoshana Stevens, and Neil Cohen. You have their appearance, vocal recordings, statistics, and so forth. They are all highly skilled avionics specialists, and one presumes that they are technicians able to service bleeding edge technology. "If you take the job, they will be informed." The secretary nods, and passes over a chip in response. "Hardware second-source access codes. A decker might be able to do something with it."
The secretary looks questioningly upwards to Tailpipe and Stephanie, being human herself.

Tailpipe shrugs a bit. "How long is we going to be having to stay?"

Stephanie shakes her head, "Nope, no questions heeah," she comments in her harsh missourah accent.

"Five days should do," says the secretary. "If you take out the enemy team or teams first and establish via interrogation that you are complete, we might turn the rest over to a normal security team."

"Tell them that they have a thirty-fifth protecting them." Double tap tells their Ms. Johnson. "They will know what it means." She adds then, and apparently she's in.

The secretary gives a nod and a smile to Double Tap, almost as if she knew that was going to be her answer. "They'll be informed."

Stephanie shrugs, "Ah s'pose I'm in…" She hefts her duffle bag and hoists it onto her shoulder with ease as she waits to see what's next.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "We are now in the questions portion, Flint. The three people you guard for 5 days are bleeding edge avionics technician specialists. You have a chip with decker log information on it that led the UCAS to suspect this action. You know their location, which is a hotel near the Fairgrounds where there is a maglev right to the airport where they will do their work. Double Tap and Stephanie have accepted."

Tailpipe nods as the cloud slowly expands from her, blowing a puff out at the others. "Is in. Just needing to pick up stuff and being ready."

Double Tap seems to think of another question, then- "What sort of… impact will we be able to make?" She wonders then. "This job is… how do you say, sanctioned, yes?" She asks then. "Will we be able to use heavy weaponry?"

Flint grunts faintly. "I'm curious why you're looking for assets that aren't on the public record. There are dozens of licensed firms that do this kind of work all the time, why not them?"

The secretary says, "As you are a 'secret' security team, we can only sanction you after the fact. Which is to say, if guards or police detect your weapons they can arrest you and bring you in and we will take care of things afterwards. But we cannot take care of things beforehand," she says to Double Tap. To Flint she says, "First, there isn't money in the official budget, or else they would be kept in the triple-A hotel attached to the airport by shuttle. You are being paid from a different account that cannot be attached to this project for security reasons - it would endanger the project. Second, we expect a shadowrunner team of some sort who will use unorthodox techniques, therefore we set runners to catch runners."

Flint nods, frowning slightly. "Are we in complete control of the targets? Can we use our own transportation methods and such?"

The secretary says, "Given that the official budget called for their taking the maglev from their hotel to the airport, absolutely you may given that the targets agree. I am certain they will."

Flint nods and glances at the other runners "Anyone got a vehicle we can use?"

Tailpipe shrugs at that. "Is having my trike. Is not tinking dese high polluters be liking it though."

Double Tap nods her head. "I have an SUV. I don't know if you'll fit though." she tells the troll and giant.

Flint nods his head. "Good, that helps a lot, allows us to vary our route. Yea, I think we can work with this, I'm in."

The secretary says, "If you like, you may use this secured room for planning. Here is my number if you need to contact me; if you are taken in by the police, have them call me at that number. Tell them you are 'raising a flag.' You'll likely have to tell them over and over. I'll be in the other room," she points down the hall to a different secured room, "attending to some business for a time if you need me."

Flint waits for the secretary to leave, then looks to the others. "Ok, Giant, you're going to be watching the hotel 24/7, never leave it. You can sleep at night while I take night shift, I don't sleep much. You guard their rooms all day, inspect every maid that comes in to clean. If the hotel has a parking garage, we pick them up there, if not, we have a weak spot during pickups. We randomize our route every day, find out how many ways to get into the airport and take a random enterance. I have a bike, *points at Tailpipe* She has a bike, we ride security on the SUV with the personnel. I can have visible weapons, I have permits, hopefully that might deter our assailants enough to get us to and from where we need to go. We will have to spend the day with the team while they work, so its mostly babysitting. Thats all the ideas I have now, anyone else got anything to add?"

Double Tap nods again at that "I will be careful." she insists. "Thank you for bringing me in on this one."

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "I will add that the targets will be working in the AAA security portion of the Denver International airport."

Tailpipe shrugs at that. "Jus means we be that much more hotwater if deys attack at airport."

Flint nods "I'll guard the SUV, if you two *points to Tailpipe and Double Tap* Can hang around with them all day. We can't leave our vehicle unguarded for a second. I'm pretty sure I'm not getting inside the airport even with my permits."

Double Tap frowns "I'm decent in a fistfight but I don't have any guns I can get into an airport."

Flint shakes his head. "Airport security is good, you're only job once inside is to delay."

Flint says, "Keep the targets alive long enough for airport security to take down the threat."

Stephanie just hangs back to listen for the moment, strategy apparently not her forte.

Tailpipe frowns at that. "Is not like like taking fist to cannon fight." She mutters, spitting a wad of black flecks to the floor before taking another puff of her cigar. "Is no way of using private entrance to airport?"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The airport has several entrances, but none of them are truly 'private'. Some of them are 'authorized personnel only' and some are for the hired help."

Flint shrugs "Maybe, but the problem is, a private entrance can be watched with a high powered armor piercing sniper rifle. I dislike going in the same way every day. Better to be totally random."

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So now I ask - you have given me a basic security set-up that is adequate. Thus I ask as the gamemaster: Do you want to take a defensive stance on the mission, meaning that I will run an attack on your defenses, or do you want to take an agressive stance on the mission, meaning that you will try to detect the assassin(s) before the attack and then attack them, while keeping up your basic personal security.. and if you can't find them we default to defensive stance?"
«Plot» (The Characters discuss it, and given their lack of investigational skills, they decide on defense.)

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "The hotel has a small open air parking lot. The hotel is chain-style, at the level of a Holiday Inn with a very nice gymnasium/spa/sunday brunch that old people go to. Given the closeness to the maglev, their parking lot is not huge."

«Plot» Flint says, "Ok, daily setup. Wake up, one of us goes and buys breakfast out and brings it in for them. Then, we leave the room together go downstairs. We search the SUV for bombs, and the area for snipers. Once we feel its clear, we load up quickly with minimal exposure. Random route to airport, random enterance. I guard the SUV while DT and TP go inside with the team. Steph guards the hotel rooms, makes sure no one goes inside at all. Nothing. Also, I'll talk to hotel security, and review the tapes for the day, in case someone alters Steph's memory or something while we are out. Pickup. Escort team to the car after searching the area for snipers. Drive back, random route. Search Hotel Parking lot for snipers, escort team inside and back to room. Buy them supper from a restaurant out and deliver it ourselves. Bedtime, I sleep 4 hours first shift with Tailpipe guarding the vehicles, then everyone else sleeps while I guard. We will get our own room in hotel if needed."

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Let us move forwards to the meeting with the targets."
The targets have managed to make it safely to their hotel on their own. Warned of your arrival, they meet you in the enclosed lobby, out of rifleshot from anywhere outside, and bring you up to their suite. They have one suite for the three of them - given that one is female and two male (both human) something must be going on with the budget for sure. Moshe Tavor is obviously in charge, and greets Double Tap with a firm handshake as well as some quick greetings in (modern) Hebrew just to establish who speaks what. "But it's not like it's a secret, anyone can just pick up a chip, eh?" he says. "Thank you very much for helping, all of you. This is a very complicated job, and we are just one small part of it. Let's go up and you can check out our room."
Moshe seems to have no problem with two orks, a troll and a giant. Shoshana is a little more trepidacious, and sticks close to him. Moshe has a tendency to take big steps and walk fast, while the others are more normal. It would be safe to call him a 'sabra,' which is a brash sort of middle-eastern personality with a heart of gold. All three of them have served in the reserve military in Israel and are attached to the military in an unspecified way right now and so they have no problem following your basic, common-sense commands.

Stephanie, noting Shoshanna's trepidation, offers up her best reassuring smile… given that hers is probably the only mouth in the group lacking fangs and tusks, she's likely the only one who could pull off such a smile.

«Plot After The Fact» In a home game, Double Tap would clearly know at least one of these people from her time in the Israeli military. But given that Double Tap's network went out and she is playing from her phone and we have other players to deal with, we will do that scene offline for roleplay fleshing-out purposes.
Double Tap offers a nod of her head and returns the greetings in Hebrew. "We are honored to help." she finishes in English.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "You may all now make generic perception rolls, TN 10. Even though there is nothing to see right now, this will determine your awareness of minute detail. Your number of successes over 10 will aid you in further perception rolls, for semi-absurd assassination attempts like water-activated poison on towels."

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So, by these die rolls, everyone has done their due diligence like Shadowrunners, but no one has gone all Sherlock Holmes. Which is fine. It is now 7 pm, it is sundown. We'll call 7pm sundown and 7am sunup for people who need to know."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "You all know the location of hallways, windows, bathrooms, fire escapes, stairways, and the like."

«Plot» Stephanie nods, "Okay. Gonna summon a Force 3 Hearth Spirit then."
«Auto-Judge[]» Stephanie (#1755) rolls Conjuring vs TN 4:

«Auto-Judge[]» Stephanie (#1755) rolls Charisma vs TN 3:
2 2 2 4 = 1 Success
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "I see 2 services, and moderate stun, which will fix as you rest for an hour or so."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Stephanie has a F3 Hearth spirit using the 'guard' power and actively standing on guard. She'll be doing this every night, but this is what we'll use to save time."
Stephanie takes up a position in the room as the sun goes down outside, chanting softly to herself, her eyes unfocusing. Her features are briefly washed out by a gently-glowing overlay of the moon. A small humanoid wearing antique clothing appears nearby her, and she says quietly to it, "Keep watch over this place until sunrise, and prevent any accidents from occurring."

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Does anyone wish to interact with the targets, set anything up that hasn't yet been set up, or shall I move forwards to the first assault?"
«Plot» Double Tap says, "would i have been able to bring my machinegun and assault rifles"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Into the hotel room, Double Tap? Sure, though you would have to use some ludicrous dodge like, say, a guitar case."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "A big guitar case."

«Auto-Judge[]» Stephanie (#1755) rolls Conjuring vs TN 2: "Force 1 Sky spirit to watch Vehicle."
2 2 2 2 3 16 = 6 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Stephanie (#1755) rolls Charisma vs TN 2:
2 2 3 9 = 4 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "You have many successes and many services, and take no drain; but the spirit, it is wimpy."
«Plot» Stephanie Isn't going to bother posing that one, assume I did it before I came inside. The current service is 'keep watch over the vehicle and tell me if anyone tries to tamper with it'.

Double Tap hauls a large footlocker up to the room the sort you might use when going on holiday for a long while. Once there she opens it up and takes out her armored vest and helmet. She kits up before setting up her machinegun aiming toward the door. She looks towards the protectees. "No one will get in," she assures them.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Okay, so I have Tailpipe and a Sky Spirit down at the car. DT, Flint, and Stephanie and a guarding patrolling Hearth spirit up in the suite with the targets."

Tailpipe settles about keeping the few bits of easily concealed weaponry on her person. She'll hang out at the garage and outer areas of the hotel, not liking the hoitytoity feel of the cheap motel.

Nothing happens that first night, with all due paranoia taking place. The vehicles are checked for tampering. The targets are properly bracketed on their way to the vehicle. A proper route is chosen. People with illegal weapons peel off when it comes time to enter the airport and have their vehicle scanned. The targets go to a hangar and begin checking and unpacking their equipment. Their avionics equipment that they are installing and testing has arrived, but the actual plane they are installing it on has not. It is about as boring as one might imagine. Nothing happens. You and the targets go back home and set up your set-up. And… -more-

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "And I watched quite carefully and you guys didn't change your room assignment even though you knew that an enemy decker had managed to steal information on the targets whereabouts already. Clearly, you were doing it to make it quite easy to lure them in."

«Plot» Flint says, "Of course!"
«Plot» Flint says, "Let's go with a trap, I didnt think of switching motels till it was too late."

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So, given that, we will begin on the outside. Three assassins - I will be rolling a combined stealth for them. Due to size, they get a +4 on their stealth check against Tailpipe. It would be a +6, except that Tailpipe has Infra-red vision. Since, amusingly enough, they are Shapeshifted into Tokay Geckos, they are naturally cold-blooded, and not as easy to see with ir vision as all that."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "If I karma-reroll their stealth, they will all pay the penalty."
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 5 for "Gecko stealth!":

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Tailpipe, tn 15 perception. Stephanie, you may roll 1 die, TN 13, for your sky spirit. (The force of the Shapechange spell they have on them -6- gives the spirit a bonus of 2 to see them astrally.)"

«Auto-Judge[]» Tailpipe (#3144) rolls Intelligence vs TN 15 for "Liiizards?":

1 3 4 5 8 = 0 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Stephanie (#1755) rolls 1 vs TN 13:
5 = 0 Successes
«Plot After The Fact» There is some discussion of how tough it would be to transform three people into geckos given their assent and all the time you would need, and doing it in a location without background count. One mage with Centering and one sustaining focus for the spell could do it pretty easily especially with a little karma rerolling.

Having sauntered casually by Tailpipe (her only chance was to note three faint heat-motes moving together in co-ordinated military precision) the geckos enter the hotel. Using their ability to climb, stick to walls, and squeeze through under doorways by snudging in under shag carpeting, they easily traverse the lobby, the stairs, and arrive in the hallway outside the room where Our Heroes reside. They carefully probe their noses around the doorway, trying to squeeze in up at the very tippy top and slide up to the ceiling.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "My stealth again"
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 5 for "More gecko stealth. They need a TN 8 to get in at the top of the door; less than that and they must go in at the bottom and suffer penalties.":

«Auto-Judge[]» Double Tap (#11208) rolls Intelligence for "kp 1":
1 2 4 4 11
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Okay, I am stuck and with only 5 total karma, I cannot reroll. So, the geckos will be coming in under the door under Double Tap's watchful eye. DT, you have Infra-red, so you will see them as they slide under the door and burgeon into life. Now we check for everyone else."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Stephanie, your TN is 9. Your hearth spirit's TN is 9, you are both using astral sight and thermo, both give you a +2."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Flint, your tn is 11 I beleive."
«Auto-Judge[]» Stephanie (#1755) rolls Intelligence vs TN 9:

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So, Flint, who has not seen the geckos, will be rolling his Reaction at TN 6, while everyone who sees them rolls reaction at TN 4.
«Plot After The Fact» It is discussed how they trigger the release of the spell on command. Chances are that it is a quickened extended mindlink spell on one of them who informs the magician holding the spells.

«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 10 vs TN 4 for "For the three geckos, if you don't beat them, you are surprised.":

«Auto-Judge[]» Flint (#11485) rolls Reaction vs TN 6 for "Good grief, I didnt see the lizardfolk!.":
1 1 1 2 3 4 4 5 5 = 0 Successes

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Okay, Flint and Stephanie and the Hearth Spirit, who can't make 5 successes on a Reaction roll, are 'surprised.' They can take actions, but they cannot attack the bad guys. So they can move, draw weapons, shout, etc. They cannot attack for their first 'action. The bad guys are, in fact, quite crowded in the front door. Fortunately, Double Tap is not surprised, and has a machinegun pointed right at them. So this could be real quick, or real painful, depending on how many beat her on the gun."

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "I have Hearth spirit at 28, Ass 3 23 (reaction 10), Flint 23 (reaction 9), Ass 2 21, Ass 1 18, Double Tap 15, Steph 6. You are all in the front room of the 'suite' and are protecting the targets. We will leave the targets out of the fight because you guys have set up the room properly."

«Plot» The Hearth Spirit: He sees the targets and shouts aloud in the astral plane, warning everyone who was already warned. But he can't attack them yet.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Ass 3:"
The quickest assassin spills up into his human form, in the nude. He leaps forwards from his hands-and-knees position, getting past Double Tap's position but unable to bring to bear on her. Bring to bear? Why yes, the palm of his hand has a discreet hole in it that he is pointing at Flint, whose position in the room just happens to be the only person he can bring his silenced cyberarm pistol to bear on with his APDS ammo.
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 10 vs TN 4 for "Cyber-pistol 5, combat pool 5,":

«Plot» Flint says, "8 successes would leave me with a L wound….I'll take it"
His first shot makes a >pouf!< in the stuffing of the uncomfortable chair that Flint leapt out of - his second merely wings the big black ork.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Flint, on 23, who cannot attack."
Flint growls, reaching quickly into a pocket and throwing down a small box that suddenly fills the room with a blinding flash, then begins to strobe its effect. Flint hits his comm, "Scan the area, hostiles inside, maintain position."

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, " Ass 2:"
The second assassin to stumble up out of the corner raises his arm, arrowing around the corner. Since he is arrowing towards Stephanie, it would be very scary if it was in fact another silenced cyberpistol. But no, it is in fact razor-edged fingerclaws, driving for her belly. It's pretty much at his eye level.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "So, my base TN is 4, I am using Edged-weapons/escrima to use Close Combat, the Flashpak gives me a TN of 6. Stephanie, I don't think has flare-comp, so her TN is 8, and since I'm using close combat, my power is down 1, right?"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "stephanie will be defaulting from her sword skill at +2 tn, for tn 10. She can roll the sword skill… and can save her combat pool for soaking, really."

«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 10 - 1 vs TN 6 for "Improved hand razors edged weapons, skill 5, combat pool 5 KP 5, last karma":
1 3 3 3 4 4 4 7 7 = 2 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "I stop at 3 successes. Now I have done 10m Impact Deadly damage, -1 for close combat, so 9m impact deadly. What is your Impact armor, Stephanie?"
«Plot» Stephanie has no Impact armour as this is her first run.
«Auto-Judge[]» Stephanie (#1755) rolls Body vs TN 9:
1 1 2 3 3 4 5 10 = 1 Success
That first slice is a doozy, right across the midriff, opening up a line of blood. But it'll take a lot more chopping to take down that massive tree.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Ass 1, at 18. He comes in to shoot at Flint just like the first."
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 10 vs TN 6 for "base tn 4, +2 for running into the room, +2 for flarecomped flashpak, -2 smartlink":

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "2 successes, 9m apds coming at flint"
«Auto-Judge[]» Flint (#11485) rolls Body vs TN 5 for "Soaking, need 6 to soak it all, sheesh.":

«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 8 vs TN 6 for "Second shot, comped, last of combat pool":
1 1 2 3 4 4 5 5 = 0 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "It misses for sure."
And you'd think that the last assassin would be able to bracket Flint in his motions. But not with that flashlight going off in his face. It looks to have done just enough to save his hide.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Double Tap, save us all. You have 3 targets in the room. One target is in HTH with Stephanie. There is a flashpack in the room giving a min of +2 tn."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "You Have A Machinegun."

«Plot» Double Tap says, "I'll full auto three rounds each. Assassin 1."
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "tn 4, -2 smartlink, +2 flashpack"

«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 6 vs TN 11 for "Base damage is 7s, 3 shot burst is 10d, she is using ExEx ammo for 12D, Orthoskin 3 for 1 ballistic armor..":

1 2 4 5 5 5 = 0 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Ass2 also dies messily."

«Auto-Judge[]» Double Tap (#11208) rolls Heavy Weapons + Combat Pool: 3 vs TN 8:"Assassin 3."
1 2 2 3 5 5 7 = 0 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Double Tap (#11208) rolls Heavy Weapons + Combat Pool: 3 vs TN 8 for "kp 3":
1 1 1 3 4 10 10 = 2 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 6 vs TN 11 for "So much for taking them alive. :)":
1 1 4 4 5 11 = 1 Success
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "And the third is also slain. I will mention that full-auto light machinegun rounds have been fired in an enclosed space. Because Double Tap is awesome, there is no chance of rounds penetrating the walls and killing the targets. Not only did she not point her weapon at them at any time but the explosive rounds don't overpenetrate."

Suddenly everything seems to go in slow motion for Aaliyah. She is not used to seeing geckos turn into men so she's slow to react but when she does she does so decisively. She dives for the machinegun as her smartlink system identifies and priorities targets. Then she pushes the trigger and sweeps the gun two hundred and seventy degrees. It seems to take an age as bullets spring noisily from the gun, slamming into the center mass of all three targets. The wounds explode open moments later tearing through flesh and cyberware alike.

No matter what, a giant LMG with explosive bullets in an enclosed area is LOUD. And evidently, the building security done picks it up. "PLEASE REMAIN IN YOUR ROOMS!" blares the loudspeakers in the halls, as the door ratchety-clacks closed with an electronic security lock. "THE AUTHORITIES HAVE BEEN CALLED. GUNFIRE IN THE HALLWAYS. PLEASE REMAIN IN YOUR ROOMS." It's about as annoying as you can possibly imagine, if you can still hear it after the full-autofire.

In a closer look for more than a split second of flashing light, all three are arabic in origin. In fact, in his death throes one is moving his lips; Double Tap especially can see him mouthing the words, "Insh-allah," as he expires.

«OOC» Flint says, "I'm checking for ally spirits attacking our folks while we are distracted!"
«Auto-Judge[]» Stephanie (#1755) rolls Sorcery + Spell Pool:4 vs TN 13: "To heal one of the downed assassins to take him captive, tn 10 +1bg +2 moderate wound."

«Auto-Judge[]» Stephanie (#1755) rolls Willpower vs TN 3:
1 2 3 3 4 8 = 4 Successes
«Plot» Moderate stun drain.

Flint picks up his flash pak, and turns it off. He then heads into the other room to check on the targets, "Its all right, had some intruders, they were dealt with. Sit quiet while we wait for the cops." He then picks up his phone and dials the Jay to let her know the situation and deal with the police.

For Tailpipe: 'So, as you are heading in, if you are heading in, the building is getting a lockdown. You can get into the lobby pretty easy, but then it will be difficult to get up to the room.'.
Tailpipe pages: Well, not much I can do at the moment. That firefire lasted less than 20 seconds. By the time I've processed the firing going on and start heading in they'll long be done with them, one way or another. And it's probably best for me not to be in the lobby when it gets locked down.
Tailpipe pages: Yeah, maybe move to a dark area around the building so I don't get auto-detained for being a troll.
«Auto-Judge[]» Tailpipe (#3144) rolls Stealth for "Troll?":
1 7 11
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 4 for "The approaching cops attempt to spot Tailpipe lurking in the shadows and arrest for 'being a troll in the dark.'":
1 1 2 3
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "I think they don't see her."

Double Tap turns to the others, "Get the targets out, I will meet the authorities myself. We can't risk them taking the intruders."

The secretary immediately responds to the telephone call from Flint. "I'll get on it. Again, I won't be able to stop you from getting taken in, but by the time they get you to the closest detainment facility, everyone who needs to know will know. Well done." Meanwhile, the automated alarm continues to blare, and…

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "And now, Stephanie and Double Tap, roll Initiative."
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 3 for "+10-3 for serious wounds.":
1 3 4
«Auto-Judge[]» Stephanie (#1755) rolls Initiative with a result of 8.
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Bad guy goes on 15. If DT can go before him, she will knock him out, I am assuming."
«Auto-Judge[]» Double Tap (#11208) rolls Initiative with a result of 22.
«Auto-Judge[]» Double Tap (#11208) rolls Wildcat + Combat Pool: 4 vs TN 4:
1 2 3 3 3 5 5 5 = 3 Successes
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "When he is healed, the razor-handed man attempts to roll to his feet, coughing up blood, and speaking in arabic. Double Tap is well placed to render him unconscious."
Double Tap hearing the Arabic snarls, deep ingrained racism confirmed. "Shalom motherfragger." she says. Right before slamming a gloved fist right into his temple knocking him out.

The two wounded men are bled out by the time it's done. The healed unconscious tied up man clings grimly to life. Tailpipe hides and watches things to make sure nothing clever happens, while a Knight Errant patrol comes in, unlocks the hotel door, gives a cry of "Jeezus!" and calls for backup and frisks you all for your crap and tries to act like assholes. Right about when the SWAT team of super-squad members gets there is when you can hear the Charlie-Brown-Adult voice in their earpieces going, "quah quah, qho quah wah." And they all sag. And here they thought it was a righteous bust. They haul you and all your crap and the targets all in, maintaining safety, but they do not get to the 'booking process.'
«Auto-Judge[]» Mr.Terrific (#7242) rolls 2 for "minutes until the cops arrived":
4 5
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "It actually took 9 minutes for the cops to arrive. Is there more you would like to do to the dead in 9 minutes?"
«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Or the living?"
«Plot» Stephanie says, "Nah, we just wanna get the hell out of there."

Tailpipe hears the muffled shots of a machinegun going off, even outside as she is. Her first instinct is to run to it, but she catches herself and realizes whatever might happen, would long be over before she got there. Instead she pulls back to the shadows, keeping an eye on the vehicles from a convenient spot out of general view and waiting for the inevitable security response to show up. She might have to untangle some of the team if they can't make their escape quick enough.

«Plot» Mr.Terrific says, "Unsurprisingly, Knight Errant takes control of the bodies, so no ghouling or picking apart for spare parts to sell on the black market. That also includes taking control of the barely-stabilized tied up nude arabic terrorist, who is carted away separately. However, you have gotten word in to your J, so one may assume that said barely-stabilized tied up nude arabic terrorist will be questioned extensively. And indeed, that news will come to you tomorrow, when you are at your new digs and under new security - in fact, it comes to you while you're doing the boring part of the job, in the triple-A security airport."

The secretary calls in and says, "Good news, bad news. Depends on how you take it. These are contractors. They were hired for the shot, and like so many of their ilk (she means arabic terror groups) if you're paying them money to kill a Jew it's just a bonus. Makes them extra-happy on the job. Also, the spell profile fits the islamic mage - they're big on shapeshift spells. We tried to stop it, but we didn't get all that much questioning in before the ritual magic spell made his head explode. But we got a good signature on the mage. We have a team trying to track the mage right now."

«Plot After The Fact» Given that two people on the team have time and network connectivity issues, we call it here with the evidence you have making it possible for Knight Errant to put enough pressure on the enemy mage and his remaining minions that they cannot mount another attack. That way we are not unduly delayed."

The remaining three days are defined by tenterhooks. In the day, in the night. You know that the wizard is out there and could be sighting you through binoculars at any open moment. The secretary gives no further knowledge besides that 'top men' are working on the situation. How many more minions does that mage or group of mages have to burn? But nothing happens despite all those tingles on the back of the neck, and finally the day comes that you put the three technicians back on an intercontinental fight, their job well done.

Flint is friendly with the cops, trying to make friends in KE, cause he could use a buddy on the force. Maybe he will get some idea who he can get in touch with later if he needs a favor, or maybe he just does his little deal, gets out, and goes back to paranoid guarding for the next few days until the project is done. In the end….he just really needs the money.
