GM: Adam
Players: Chaz, Nanashi
Synopsis: Nanashi goes into a power substation building to set taps while Chaz works as Matrix overwatch
Date: 5/29/2070
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Alright— ground rules:
- I need a +sheet/allow to Adam. You can decide not to, but it is going to make my life harder and you will miss IC situations that I could have just said 'Well according to skill x at y, you would ICly know…'. Your choice— but I respect your privacy and dont metagame.
- Keep ALL OOC on the plot channel. The only thing in this window should be poses, +rolls, and PLOT comments. Keeps the log clean, keeps the IC/OOC seperation clear. If you have questions, please address them in the plot channel.
- Meets are great RP. They also siphon up about 1-2 hours of time in a session and reduce the completion rate by a lot. I skip them and sum it up. I will give you an oppertunity to put your spin and interjections into them.
- I keep sessions at aprox 4 hours. If you cannot commit that time right now, I need to know. On the same note, I expect you to be paying attention during the plot and if you AFK for 5+ minutes, your pose will be skipped. If you need to AFK, note it, else dont ninja please.
- Consent: I require you to be consent. I am a 'Sandbox' GM, so I emulate an environment, Im not out to kill you. But if you get bad luck or do something stupid, you will need to reap it. Please PLOT a consent on if you consent on.
- Objections: You can object to a ruling. Once. I'll look over it, and then after that decision, there will be no further arguement on it. The plot will progress."
«Plot» Nanashi says, "I consent to random whatever happening."
«Plot» Chaz says, "I consent to any and all outcomes of my actions in this plot."
At some point last evening it is send out to the Shadowlands that Aquis is looking for someone to do a simple B&E position. Cloak and dagger code— all that jazz. The details are on the meet itself. It does a fair pay, equal to the risk involved here. The meet takes place at a noodle shop not too far from the Lunar. Seats are waiting for the runners as Aquis and a single, humming cybered bodyguard (Air) sit and discuss the details.
The job involves breaking and entering. On an optimal situation, there should be no shots fired. In the provided briefcase there are 5 dataline taps. Two are spares. The remaining three need to be placed within the Pearson Substation building, northeast Downtown Denver. The Substation is an older fitted power substation that provides energy to the district along with many other routed sources of energy. The man provides, upon acceptance, a topography of the building itself along with the places that the taps need to be placed. One is outside. Two are inside. The job itself pays 44k for the both of you (22k each) with 14k of that upfront to cover initialization costs. This needs to be done within a week, but it is a soft timeline.
Nanashi arrives at the meet and takes a seat. He accepts the job after a few moments of thought and then reviews the data.
Chaz listens to the information of the run and smiles as the details are presented to him. "Could be interesting," He says softly and nods his head, commiting the information to memory.
Aquis nods his head and asks, "If you have any specific questions— feel free to ask me. If I have the answers, I shall give them to you." He motions to the briefcase with the taps and the floor plans on it, "But that should suffice for the scope of this mission."
Nanashi shakes his head, quietly indicating that he has no questions. He looks to Chaz for comment.
Chaz shakes his head at the look, indicating that he has no questions for the time being.
Nanashi stands. One hand reaches for the briefcase, and he acts ready to leave and get started.
Chaz moves to leave with Nanashi, reaching into a pocket to pull out a computer and begins to type away on it.
Nanashi pulls out his own pocsec and quietly begins to tap through it, making rapid plans and communicating with Chaz about them. The two begin to split up, Nanashi heading for a car.
Chaz nods his head as Nanashi goes for his car, heading towards his own vehicle, though going to the trunk instead of the driver's seat.
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Meet Fade. Legwork Time."
«Plot» Chaz says, "I would like to see about hacking into the Power Station's systems, or more to the point, the group that manages it. I want to gather a more detailed floorplan, and see about generating a forged work order that we can use for cover."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "You can, using quick rules. However, its to be noted that you'll have to go through a few chokes to get to that specific substation's systems. The group that manages it may be a little easier if your goal is floorplans. The substation is owned by Denver Power, which does have a public LTG, though that data is on thier PLTG."
«Plot» Chaz says, "Going to skip on the decking for now, but am going to do a Matrix search instead. Looking specifically for pictures of the uniforms worn by the Denver Power maintenance crew."
«Plot» AdamLOG handwaves. You can find several. Facebook2060. It'll take you an hour or so to get some good ones.
«Plot» Chaz says, "Not sure if you'll allow this one, but what I want to do is take all the pictures and trim them out into a mesh form, much like you see for 3D models today. The end result I'm shooting for is to use these to project a uniform via ruth, if needed."
«Plot» AdamLOG allows it. But it'll be a hard hit. Roll Photography TN 4. Threshold 3 for passable quality. Then a Computers TN 4 (Thresh 3) to program it in as emulation. It will give you a +4 disguise bonus (+/- how you do on your threshold).
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Chaz (#4325) rolls Photography + Task Pool: 1 + Karma Pool: 2 vs TN 4 for "KP used so far 3/28":
2 3 5 5 5 = 3 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Chaz (#4325) rolls Photography + Task Pool: 1 + Karma Pool: 2 - 3 vs TN 4 for "KP used so far 4/28":
3 4 = 1 Success
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Chaz (#4325) rolls Computers + Task Pool: 1 vs TN 4:
3 3 3 5 5 7 = 3 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Chaz (#4325) rolls Computers + Task Pool: 1 - 3 vs TN 4 for "KP 5/28":
3 3 7 = 1 Success
«Plot» Chaz stands on 4 successes each.
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Ruth-Emulated Diguise is a +5 to diguise rolls."
«Plot» Nanashi says, "Nanashi's doing a drive past, just checking the state of the actual grounds and the building. Counting visible entries for foot and vehicle, what's visible on the roof from the ground, etc."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Three Perception (Visual) tests, TN 4."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Intelligence vs TN 4 for "(one)":
2 3 5 11 14 = 3 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Intelligence vs TN 4 for "(two)":
1 2 3 5 5 = 2 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Intelligence vs TN 4 for "(three)":
1 2 3 3 11 = 1 Success
Chaz hmmms as he looks over his options, deciding against decking the power stations system. Instead he does a search on the trix and gathers a number of images of power crews and maintenance technicians at work, saving them all to his computer. Once he has a collection of them, he starts editing them to build into a complete mesh of the uniform from all angles, able to be uploaded to a ruthenium suit if needed.
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Intelligence - 1 vs TN 4 for "(three) KP, 1 used.":
2 3 4 4 = 2 Successes
«Plot» Nanashi says, "Standing on those successes."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "The substation itself has three ground entry points. The main entry point is visible from the road. A side entry point looks like a service entrance. Both have maglocks on them. The service entrance also is facing the fenced substation 'field' where the power lines are. Those two entrances are personell entrances. The third is a vehicle entrance not too far from the main entrance. It doesnt look accessible from the outside. There is a service ladder to the roof, but it currently in the 'up' position and needs to be dropped down for a normal person to get up there. There is a release request button nearby."
«Plot» Nanashi says, "Scouting out the surrounding area. What's within a block of the place? Basic businesses, or is it industry and so on? Places to hide a vehicle or person as well."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "It is a light industrial setting. Small business mixed with manufacturing. You can hide a vehicle in a parking lot here or try for one of the alleyways. But with Denver and parking, it'll never be a safe bet either way."
«Plot» Nanashi says, "How tight are the alleys? Refuse that we can dash through or hide in, or swept clean? Could we concievably keep a box of equipment there for a few hours without it being disturbed?"
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Alleyways are wide enough to dash between, but they are not frequent. They are kept clean. You could store a box there if you slide it under a dumpster or otherwise land a good Stealth roll out of it."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "For hiding a box the size of a shoebox: Stealth TN 4. Each success = 1 hour it'll be 'safe'. As the size goes up, TN goes up."
«Plot» Nanashi says, "Okay. I'll stake out the nearby businesses for the rest of the day then, moving between them. I'll count traffic in/out of the station and try to see what it is, along with identifying their security measures."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Perception TN 4 to get a feel for your surroundings."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Intelligence vs TN 4:
1 2 3 10 10 = 2 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Intelligence - 2 vs TN 4 for "Karma, 2 used so far.":
1 2 3 = 0 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Security Systems vs TN 4 for "Possibly complimentary?":
2 3 4 4 5 21 = 4 Successes
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "You have a 'feel' for the immediate district's other businesses and thier security. It'll afford you a bonus in evading the security systems if you run across them."
Throughout the day, Nanashi works on the ground. The old man shuffles along the ground and wanders through the alleys. He ducks into shops and quietly fills in information about the area. He glances at cameras and slowly circles the substation a few times to count all that he can. Counting is good. Until the afternoon, he watches the entries and exits from a few locations to check the traffic in and out of the station. Then, he up and leaves to prepare for the night's action.
«Plot» Nanashi says, "Night 1: Stealth approach. Taking tools, two datataps, basic extra stuff packed into the suit. First step: Outlining the building more closely and inspecting the maglocks."
«Plot» Nanashi says, "Also, scouting out where the externally placed tap goes. Ruthenium is activated."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "The external tap has to be placed on one of the transformers that are on the outside field. It goes without saying— proceed with caution. There briefing explains a control box for the farm that you are going to have to hardwire the tap into. Hold for a sitrep."
In the evening, there is good lighting along the streets. This is a 'real' urban setting after all. The occasional night guard can be seen once an hour doing patrols. It gives a wide gap of time for insertion and extraction— but there are a handful of cameras to tactfully avoid that Nan noticed earlier.
The transformer farm has a high fence around it and several signs that have 'do not enter' and 'danger' symbols on them. One of those transformer towers has the control box that the external tap goes into.
«Plot» Nanashi will stealth for the ladder to the roof then. 3m shouldn't be hard to go up.
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Throw a stealth (sneaking) roll. Then go ahead and pose the ninja-ness."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Stealth:
1 4 4 4 5 5 7 10
«Plot» Nanashi says, "12 sensor ruthenium added on that."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Indeed. Ninjatastic. :)"
Nanashi returns to the site that night. He parks in a nearby structure and clambers into the back of his van to change into his suit for the real work of the evening. Eveything is packed into the suit's backpack and he activates the ruthenium before exiting the vehicle and activating the alarm. Quickly and quietly, the old man scampers along the ground and circles the building once, trying to avoid the cameras he spotted before. He checks the locks and then the transformer cage. Then he heads for the ladder to the roof, pausing at the bottom briefly as a shimmer in the air. He crouches and prepares to leap.
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Go ahead and do a +jump"
----------—[ Shadowrun Denver ]-
============================> Combat Jumping Roll <============================
Nanashi (#5684) jumps with 8 dice with no TN modifier and 11 effective Quickness.
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Rolls: 1 2 3 3 4 4 5 8 ------> Interpreted Results <-----—-
If this attempted jump is taken as a free action:
A 4 Meter Running Horizontal jump
A 3 Meter Standing Horizontal jump
A 3 Meter Vertical jump of any kind including reach
If this attempted jump is taken as all movement during a combat phase:
A 8 Meter Running Horizontal jump
A 4 Meter Standing Horizontal jump
A 4 Meter Vertical jump of any kind including reach
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Pose the ninja jump. Nothing bites you for doing such (yet!)"
Nanashi leaps into the air. The ruthenium around his legs shimmers from the change in pressure on the suit caused by the man's release. One hand clenches the ladder, and he silently pivots around it, hauling himself up with ease. Nanashi heads for the roof.
The roof itself, now that Nan has a better look, is rather boring. Its a flat landscape with a single service hatch to the building that it services. The roof itself is gravel, which causes his feet to crunch beneath his weight. The lighting isn't too great up here— all of it is ambient lighting reflected from the street or neon signs in the district.
Nanashi circles the roof, peering downwards. He checks for visible guards and their patrol routes, waiting like a gargoyle for half an hour before deciding he's seen enough from this point.
«Plot» Nanashi says, "How far down is it from the roof to the transformer cage? Is there a possible route to jump, such as from the ladder?"
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "It would be a straight drop. 6m. No guards at the moment."
Nanashi neatly drops down from the roof, hopping off the side that leads into the transformer cage and service entrance.
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Athletics test, TN 4 for a graceful kerplop."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Athletics vs TN 4:
1 1 2 4 5 7 8 11 = 5 Successes
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Kerplop Graceful. Hold for sitrep."
The landing is done neatly— which puts Nan in the transformer cage. There are quite a few of them in the farm— and the only visible way out is either over the fence or through the service door. The transformers here hum and crackle periodically with energy.
«Plot» Nanashi says, "First point - the maglock, scoping it out for difficulty to open and access to nearby cables. After that, the transformer the tap goes in. How tricky it is to open and perform surgery on."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Electronics B/R TN 5 to evaluate it. You have to find the right transformer first. Which is Perception TN 4, Thresh 5 (cumulative)."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Intelligence vs TN 4:
2 4 5 7 16 = 4 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Electronics B/R vs TN 5:
2 2 3 4 5 = 1 Success
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "The lock looks like a rating 5 maglock. It probably has some anti-tampering built into it. You look around but dont see the right transformer just yet— takes you a minute or two glancing around."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Intelligence vs TN 4:
4 4 4 5 8 = 5 Successes
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "And then you find it. The transformer door looks 'normal' enough. Its not some strange custom. But since most people work on them when they are off you would have to be extra careful when placing the tap."
«Plot» Nanashi says, "Sounds about right. Roll to open? I'll take as much time as needed. Extra cautious, accidentally shorting this means likely death and totally alerting people."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Its Electronics B/R TN 4 to open. -2 successes to your roll. Cumulative threshold of 3. This means you /can/ get negative, and that will result in bad (tm) things."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Electronics B/R vs TN 4:
1 2 4 5 11 = 3 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Electronics B/R - 3 vs TN 4 for "Karma, 4 used.":
2 11 = 1 Success
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Electronics B/R - 4 vs TN 4 for "Karma, 6 used.":
1 = 0 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Electronics B/R - 4 vs TN 4 for "Karma, 9 used.":
4 = 1 Success
Nanashi takes a moment once inside the barrier to check the service entrance's maglock. Then he pivots and quickly begins to dart between transformers. The suit's helmet twists about as he checks their serials and navigates the maze, trying to find the right one. At least he does and he reaches back into his suit's backpack for the toolkit. A few well-timed jabs crack the casing at its designated points and he cautiously opens it.
Once opened, the circuitry is much more plain. Although it can not be seen, there is a lot of current going through the device. The board that the tap needs to be affixed to is a little off to the side. It'll require some care here as well.
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Electronics TN 4. -1 successes to your roll. Thresh 3 to install it."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Electronics vs TN 4:
1 2 4 5 8 = 3 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Electronics - 3 vs TN 4 for "10 karma used.":
3 5 = 1 Success
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "And Place. 1 of 3 down."
Nanashi nimbly puts the tools back in his pack and withdraws one of the taps. It shimmers in the air, surrounded and slightly distorted by the ruthenium as he snaps it into place. The suited man takes a quick view of the board and location, then proceeds to close everything back up the way it was found.
«Plot» Nanashi says, "Taking note for future reference: Transformer number, location, connecting grid, and potential capabilities of the tap just installed."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls 6 vs TN 5 for "Test 1.":
2 2 3 5 10 11 = 3 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls 5 vs TN 6 for "Test 2.":
1 1 1 3 4 = 0 Successes
Nanashi moves back for the service entrance. His gauntletted hand reaches back one more time to withdraw a small swipe card which gets slid through the lock in a practiced motion. It's replaced again and he waits for the green light… which arrives in a timely fashion. The door is then checked for any obvious alarms before being opened.
It does not appear to have any alarms going off for the door opening. Though peeking inside shows a hallway that spills out into an open room. There is a security guard there on patrol.
Nanashi slips in through the door. He lowers it shut and crouches as a ruthenium shimmer. He takes a moment to peer about his surroundings before moving.
After a moment of hiding invisible, the guard in notably light security armor, makes his way towards the service door. The security contract looks serious enough— Lone Star— and the SMG around his chest has a 'shoot first' vibe to it.
Nanashi moves with the air of one accustomed to this specific situation. He trusts in his ruthenium and remains almost motionless, moving only to get out of the guard's way should contact be imminent. He waits for the other man to leave.
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Throw a stealth."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Stealth for "+12 for ruthed armor.":
1 1 2 3 4 5 8 10
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» AdamLOG (#1574) rolls 6 for "It could happen":
1 1 1 2 2 4
The security guard makes his way to the door. He stops. The man is so close you could smack him upside his head— and hear his breathing through one of the security helmets. After the pause he opens the door with his gun in hand and takes a look around. He comms over « Check the logs and put in an order to maintenence. I scan nothing. » *pause* « No. I repeat. I scan nothing. You can check the recordings yourself later. Checkpoint 41A is clear. » The man then turns around and goes back down the hallway.
Nanashi makes no move. He stares emotionlessly at interior of his helmet with breath not held but slow and steady. As the guard leaves view, he takes a moment to reach into his backpack and pull out his pocsec. A brief message to Chaz to update him on the situation is in order.
«Plot» Nanashi says, "Taking a minute to notify Chaz about the tap in place and where I am in the building, along with the general plan of installing another for him and exiting. Then moving up and exploring the building more. As expected, searching for a spot to put the next tap, assuming the cables on the ceiling aren't an option."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Next tap that is required to be placed or just an extra one to be placed for Chaz?"
«Plot» Nanashi says, "For Chaz."
«Plot» AdamLOG nods.
After things push forward, things slowly sprawl out into the substation itself. The building is not without it's little cubicle farms. There are plenty of terminal stations with direct links to the PTLGs that are just screaming to have rogue devices installed on them.
Nanashi skirts through the cubicles and finally crouches down inside one. Ideally a terminal station with some clutter that indicates the wires won't be poked at for a while. He pulls out the second tap and sets about installing it as quickly and quietly as possible.
«Plot» AdamLOG is sure there are official rules for it. But there is nothing crazy about this install. Electronics B/R TN 4. Thresh 1.
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Nanashi (#5684) rolls Electronics B/R vs TN 4:
1 1 4 5 10 = 3 Successes
Chaz grins as the message comes in from Nanashi, smiling as he considers it before nodding his head as he is uploading the information to his ruthenium and checking it out, seeing how it works, tapping back an interested agreement on the info.
Nanashi ensures the tap is active and then returns to his comm, this time notifying Chaz of the second tap. Now there's a way in from outside. He crouches inside the cubible and peers out, waiting a response. He needs to know what Chaz thinks before searching for the next place to put a bug or move out of this death trap.
Chaz hmmms as he looks at the infromation sent from Nanashi as he gets the details, reaching to grab his deck and get jacked in to review what information he may be able to dig up about this place through the tap that is given.
«Plot» Chaz says, "Going to try and deck through their system now, seeing if I can check if its safe for Nanashi to continue and then loop/disable any security in his way, re-enabling it when he's done."
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Computers+HP vs TN 5. Thresh 2. Whats your DF?"
«Plot» Chaz says, "DF of 8."

«Plot» Chaz stands on 7 successes.
«Plot-Page» (To: Chaz) AdamLOG says, "Throw me a Sensor Roll, TN 5."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Chaz (#4325) rolls 5 vs TN 5 (to AdamLOG):
1 4 4 5 5 = 2 Successes
«Plot-Page» (To: Chaz) AdamLOG says, "It is safe for Nanashi to continue. The security here is very mundane. Cameras. Maglocks. Thats about it. It is hooked up to a central suite that is monitored and the logs show that it opened up the Vanishing SAN connection to the Main grid not too long ago to investigate a maglock door opening during off hours. While sifting through the logs, you notice that there are passive IC here that is taking interest in why a user (namely you) is having any activity in the system. Looks like a probe or tracer."
«Plot-Page» (To: AdamLOG) Chaz says, "Any chance of validating an account? If not, can I crash the program and suppress the crash?"
«Plot-Page» (To: Chaz) AdamLOG says, "Yes. Same test as before to validate an account."

2 3 3 5 7 = 0 Successes
«Plot-Page» (To: Chaz) AdamLOG says, "You have a valid account. No problems at the moment outside of that."
«Plot-Page» (To: AdamLOG) Chaz says, "Ok, two things I'd like to do. First, analyze IC on what I've detected. If its probe, going to focus on editing the security using Control Slave/Edit Slave commands and the like as needed to make him a window to access."
«Plot-Page» (To: Chaz) AdamLOG says, "Same test. Though I think we just threw out 'Quick Decking' tests after this."
«Plot-Page» (To: AdamLOG) Chaz says, "We could try and resolve things pretty quickly."

«Plot-Page» (To: AdamLOG) Chaz says, "Standing on 5."
«Plot-Page» (To: Chaz) AdamLOG says, "It is a probe. You can turn it off. Pushing it beyond that crashes it."
«Plot-Page» (To: AdamLOG) Chaz says, "Shouldn't need to worry about it as long as I do stuff contained in my user privledges, since Probe only increases my DF, and DF only matters for unauthorized commands. Unless it works differently here, I'll just play overwatch and then delete from the log all entries once we're on our way out."
«Plot-Page» (To: Chaz) AdamLOG says, "Logs deleted. Let Nan know whats up."

Things on the Matrix side have a temporary hiccup as a Probe needs to be handled. It was investigating the odd access time, but was subsequently edited and re-routed. Access information is provided for Nanashi, to make his trek through the building and to where he needs to know a little easier. Then the logs are erased and there is overwatch.
Nanashi has a brief conversation with Chaz over the comm. They decide to continue with the operation now. Nanashi bows his head and then darts out. The ruthenium shimmers and changes rapidly as he silently darts through cubicles and down the corridors. He pauses and listens at every corner, careful not to progress into things he doesn't have some idea of. His breathing is slow and steady as he finds the first point, a simple cable, which he cracks open and slides the tap into.
Nanashi moves onward after a simple check to test the piece's operation. He doublechecks the activation of his ruthenium and moves on, quietly stepping through the corridors and at one point pausing to crouch in a corner in order for a security armored guard to pass. Long heartbeats pass as he waits for the go ahead to move on from Chaz. Quickly reaching the final point, he reaches into his backpack and pulls out a pair of tools. One to open it and another to slide the tap into place. The box is opened in no time and the point on the board is located with a little help throug the comm, then the tap is inserted. Nanashi seems satisfied after testing its activation.
Possibly one of the most annoying things right now is the appearance of a cat. Not just any cat, but an astral cat. It runs through the air and stops in front of Nanashi. Then— it hisses. Being close, its transluscent nature reveals it to be more a spirit than else. It stares at Nanashi— ignoring the ruthenium— and lets out a shrieking howl. Thats not good.
Nanashi stares nonplussed at the shrieking cat for a single beat. He closes the box up quickly and takes stock of his place in the building and the fastest way out. Time to leave, then perhaps to talk to a man about a cat.
The fastest way out is, at this point, the main door. As the cat keeps shrieking, the guard from before can be seen jogging towards the alter. Making note of the ultrasound movements— some blind bullets wizz around Nanashi's head on his evacuation endeavors before he can reach the door itself. Damn! Locked! Wait.. it goes red as the overwatched decker flips the controls. Time to get out of dodge.
Nanashi opens the door and darts out through it. He steps to the side immediately and tries to slam the door shut. He drops his left hand down and sticks two fingers out. Filaments dart out and weave into a thin blade of silken monowire. He waits to see if the cat passes through.
The cat does not pass through. Perhaps it knows better. Perhaps it has strict orders. As for the door— it shuts deftly and is locked again. The guard bangs on the door to get out but— being locked— he isnt getting out. Even his security override isnt working.
Nanashi takes off at a run. The blade disappears as he starts moving. The ruthenium glistens as he runs rapidly for the closest alley. He plans to disappear as quickly as possible, starting with a nice jaunt and hide.
