«Plot» Diego says, "Ok, I need consent. I don't try to kill folks, I simply tend to react to what they do. This should be fast and low threat."

Word has spread out that someone has a job, its actually going to be one of the fun ones, and perhaps thats why you were contacted. You are to meet the Jay at the back room to Chrome at 3pm.

Eris is a little antsy. She's heard that someone is pulling nasty things at known Runner hotspots, but, she could use the money. There's a drek-hot new deck she's got her eye on, and she's still a long, long way from that particular toy. So, the threat of having her organs melt at a later date seems worth it. She'll go get herself checked out after she's done.

So at the appointed time, the skinny mexican chick makes her way to the back room, dressed casually, to see who this guy is and what he (or she, she guesses) wants her to do!

Diego is seated at the table in the back room, waiting for you to arrive. When you do he stands up, and inclines his head. "Good afternoon senorita, please have a seat." He waits for you to sit, and then he sits back down. He pulls out a chip, and places it on the table where you can reach it. "There is an address on that, at exactly midnight tommorow night, my clients wish to have things start going badly for this place. Nothing specific, use your imagination. As much trouble as you can possibly think of, short of crashing the system. They want the system to remain up, but they want much cleanup work to be done. Is this something you can handle?"

The job description actually makes Eris smile. Seated, she's already considering options. "Without crashing." She repeats, humming, "Well, I'd need to be in the system myself at the time to ensure that it couldn't be shut down manually, but if I'm not held responsible for whatever active measures they might have in place at that time… that's more than possible. The other way is possible too, but, I'd need a little more compensation."

Diego smiles "My clients are prepared to offer ten for this, providing you make enough of a racket to be noticed." He waits to see how you react to the offer.

Eris nods her head, "Then I'll put things in place this afternoon, and the show will begin at midnight as requested."

Diego nods "Excellent. I'll be here the day after tommorow at noon. I'll have your payment then. Good luck senorita."

It probably says a lot about Eris' excitement at the prospect of being paid to raise hell, that it is only after she's accepted the job she bothers to actually take the chip, slot it into her pocsec, and, as she leaves check out the specifics, nodding, "Luck, will not be necessary. But I thank you."

the chip has a matrix address, but no real name of the facility. You'd have to find that on your own.

«Plot» Eris says, "Okay, Eris will go home and just run a basic, quick data search to see if she can match anything physical to the address. She's not going to bother investing too hard in it, though."

Turk has arrived.

Your search reveals the matrix address belongs to Edwards Marketing Group. They handle market analysis for several smaller companies in the denver area.

Seated in her hotel room, Eris set up a small dish, and attaches it to her deck. Ah, well. It would have been sweet if she was hitting Ares or something, but, they can't all be the most exciting job in the world. She'll still have to see what fun she can have with these Edwards people.

Cracking her knuckles, she starts the most tedious bit of setup… trying to get her satellite dish to lock on to the FreeSat network.

And so proceed five agonizing minutes as Eris patiently waits for her deck to lock on to the satellite. She's seriously starting to consider trying something else, but then, there's a glorious beep! And away she goes!

Uploading herself to the familiar hum and drum of the FreeSat satellite, Eris looks markedly different in cyberspace than she does in reality. The skinny mexican is now a tall, statuesque, caucasian blonde woman wrapped in glowing white light. Ah, bliss.

She's not here for pleasure, though. Why, the clock is ticking, she's got a lot of stuff to prepare to make sure the marketing firm properly explodes! And so she almost immediately turns her attention back down to Denver.

Whereupon her icon pops like a soap bubble, and she reappears where she wants to be. Wonderful!

Now she merely needs to access the address encoded on the chip. Easy as pie. She moves with purpose through the streets of 'Denver'. Confident that her Divine Intuition (her search utility) will lead her directly where she needs to be.

When you enter the host it seems fairly generic. An office building, you have a secretary in the first room you enter, probably a program to greet vistors and give the company spiel. Two hallways lead off the main room, probably to secondary hosts to help increase security.

Eris starts simple, pulling out a large magnifying glass from her toga, she begins to inspect the walls and ceiling, to determine what type of Host the public access is.

The public host is actually very simple, its more of a door than anything. It serves no further purpose but to deal with vistors to the website, and it has some meeting rooms for new clients to talk in private.

Tucking away the information for later, Eris decides to play things fast and loose, picking the next of the hosts to check out completely at random. "Eenie, meenie, miney, moe." She says, "Plant a bomb or let it go… ah, this one'll do!" And she wanders down the left hand hallway, or at least tries to.

This hallway leads to to a moderatly well designed series of conference rooms. There are four of them in total down the hall, and each of them seems to have various setups for recording meetings here, but, they also each have a security guard standing in front of each door. Perhaps this is where more private meetings take place.

Reaching into her toga again, Eris produces a golden apple. Perfectly happy to wander past the guard without a care in the world, she walks into the first room, and twists the top of the apple as though it were an egg timer, before leaving it underneath the table.

Unless someone comes along and find the apple before then, at precisely midnight the room will be covered in graffiti with links to the Khaos Krewe, a particularly obnoxious anarchist group. It will essentially look as though someone trashed the place.

One apple in place, she wanders along to the next room, and selects her next weapon of choice- attempting to put a command in place to upload troll on troll pornography into the meeting room at three seconds past midnight.

Room Number Three gets a similar treatment to room number one; only this is a little less brazen. She gets up on the table and fiddles with the light. At the same time as anarchist propaganda floods room 1, the third meeting room should just become a dark space. As though the lights have gone out.

Room Number Four is left alone; after all, they'll probably go nuts trying to figure out what is GOING to happen in the one room left conspicuously undamaged.

However, whispering in the ear of the 'security guard', Eris tries to leave another command. Set for a full minute past midnight (about when, Eris figures, if they have any competent countersecurity they should just be thinking they have everything under control), she wants the Host to start validating all people on it at the time as Security Users. That ought to sow some mistrust!

Her work here done, Eris brushes her hands off, and then wander back to the public Host. One more to check! That one ought to keep them pretty busy all on its own, though!

This host must be were the actual work gets done. There are over a dozen offices, a locked and guarded room that says Data, and even a room that says maintainence.

Eris rubs her hands together with glee. Okay. Before she gets too excited, she ought to see what sort of time limit she's working on. The magnifying glass is brought out again, and she checks to see what sort of system she's looking at.

Eris is actually faintly disappointed. She'd hoped it'd be more dangerous! But, well, at least she can show these guys why it is a bad idea to keep your data on a basic system. Really, she's doing them a public service as she kicks open the door to the Data Room to see what she can see.

The data is strangely organized. There is the basic client data, and then there are things like census reports, real estate values, information on public services. Its a large amount of all sorts of data, all linked via one thing. Geography. It seems the key to the primary database is the geographic data.

Eris can't help herself. She can easily see how to screw with such a neatly organized filing system. She produces a spring, which she sets underneath the files. At exactly midnight, it will go off… and if she's done it properly, the files will be reorganized. Alphabetically.

Next up, Eris goes looking for their current advertising campaigns; hoping that their biggest one will be nice and easy to spot.

The largest client is there, but there is no advertising information. It appears this company focuses on market research, something to complement a companies internal advertising division. Right now it appears most of the data is focused in the CAS, and the information last sent to the client was the data polled on all residents over the age of 60 for humans, and 40 for orks/trolls. Elves were excluded from the polling.

Eris eyes that information, and smiles as a thought occurs to her. It is not a pleasant smile. Rolling up her sleeves, she gets right into the data. The intent is to set it so that this information is uploaded to several very public information dumps across Denver at three seconds past midnight. She rather doubts that the old folk will appreciate their personal information being shared - that ought to get whoever is in charge in a suitable flap.

Pausing, Eris decides that - even if this is an insecure Host - it is also clearly the Host with the most importance, and therefore eyes, on it. Besides. She's probably done an awful lot of damage just with that, so, she wanders back to the public face. Really ought to deface that a bit, too, after all.

Eris leaves a banner to be unfurled at midnight, proclaiming this place 'The Olympus Bar and Grill'. The secretary will become a surly diner waitress (though, none of her programming will actually change, of course, creating some cognitive dissonance), the left Host labeled as 'Seating' and the right as 'Kitchen.'

All this done, she smiles to herself. It isn't the most advanced trick in the book, but she feels like she's really made the most of it.

Content that the set of Hosts are all going to go suitably ballistic at midnight, she bows, and attempts to log off.
