Another day, another nuyen. Or so people are hoping, especially once a few people get a call from their contacts about a possible job. The meeting is (as usual) at the Crazy Horse Bar and Grill, where the Johnson (aka Argos) is sitting in the dimly lit booth, better illuminating the booth by occassionally taking a drag from his cigarette while waiting.
Hunni hadn't been one to take a job from this J before, but words get around and work is work. Besides, one has to expand on their book of names if they're going to get around in this lifestyle.
Musara isn't the typical goer of the Crazy Horse bar, but oh well. He gets a call from Maria, the lady who introduced him to where he started his new life, and gathers his things together for the trip out to the bar. He dresses up to look more like an asian cowboy set to enjoy the night out at the bar, well at least it's what he aims for.

Brock takes a long look around as he walks in. For the first time in a long time he is not here with his teammates. Upon spotting Argos he walks over to him and says his usual line to the J, "Mind if I join you?"
Musara pulls into the crazy horse, and orders up a glass of water to take with him to the table where the J he is supposed to be meeting is. "Congrats" He says as he steps up to the table "Is it a boy or a girl or do you know yet?"
Carpenter gets a call from his contact in the Secret Service, who, to ensure he didn't starve on the streets and make himself useless, nudges him toward this particular job that has him enter a bar and grill in a decent part of town that's no too crowded. He actually looks relaxed at the meet, armored jacket hanging over a t-shirt, cargo pants running down to slightly shined boots, as he directs himself to the proper table. "Huh. Didn't know we we're 'oldin a baby shower." His accent is clearly working class English.
And the short redhead is clearly Irish-American, Wolf(Boomstick) tagging along with Hunni to the meet. "A fifth's good 'nuff fer a baby, last 'em a year… jus' give 'em lil' drops of th'stuff…" she says with a grin, giving a little two-finger salute to Mr. Johnson. "Pity we didn' make th'bachelor party…" the woman chuckles.
The Johnson takes another pull from his cigarette as he looks up at the group slowly gathering around him. So far only one person he knows. "Of course, have a seat." At the question of a boy or girl, he can't help but grin a bit. "Not a clue yet, hopefully the child will be healthy either way." He smiles and motions around at the seats for them to make themselves comfortable and get settled. "Feel free to have a drink." He already has a beer himself, and waits for the rest to get settled before he gets ready to talk biz.
Musara takes a seat and mixes some tea into his water, and gives a nod to the Johnson. He sips from the tea and listens to what the J has to offer.
Hunni says nothing, although there's a little sniff that might have been a laugh at the bachelor party line. Sitting herself down she doesn't order a drink and waits to hear the story.
Brock wonders if the others are speaking in some type of code but when Argos confirms there is a baby on the way he simply raises a brow then says to Argos "Guess a bit more time has passed then I thought sense we last talked." With that Brock sits down.
Carpenter moves to sit down at the invitation, nodding to the man and the group around him. "'pperciate it, mate." He says, before ordering a neat scotch with a splash of bottled water. He'll also wait for the brief to get started.
The Johnson glances around again and chuckles a bit as he looks at Brock, lowering his voice again. "Has been awhile, but not /that/ long, omae. Right, down to business… This job comes from one of the big corps, so the money is good. They have a 'town' they sponser a few miles outside of Denver, basically a mining town. I don't know what they mine, but its a valuable resource apparently. For some reason or another… contact was lost with the town, and they would /really/ like to know why. They don't have any idea what's happening, but pretty sure its bad, but don't want to risk attracting the wrong kind of attention by sending in their own armed forces. That's where you guys come in. The job pays 150k for you to go in, assess the problem, and hopefully correct whatever is wrong."
Wolf grins, "…whiskey shots if'n y'please, jus' a pair…" she nods to Johnson. As she takes her seat and looks up at Hunni, then back to Argos. Her brow quirks, and the other joins it quickly at the mention of the price. She counts the group gathered, then whistles lowly. "…they let offa nuke or somethin'…? Thassalot fer pokin' 'round a mine…"
Musara smiles at the price, and nods "Well I believe I might be in, but do you have more informaion? Where exactly is the town, and Is there information on the people we are supposed to try and find that may be in charge over there?" he looks around the table.
Carpenter looks over to the Irish American, observing her for a moment, before shurgging. "Could be just a communications failure; Cell tower's down, or somethin' a' that nature. I doubt that they'd spead that sort of money t' hire very dangerous people if it were just 'bout fixin' some electical wires. Does this corp 'ave some information on what might a' caused this? Probably threats from locals, spaiant or otherwise?"
Hunni nods as she listens and frowns as she does so. "A mining town?" she repeats. "If they were invested enough to be worrying, did they have some sort of local security force in there already? We don't want to be walking in there with peashooters if some sec-team with full gear vanished into who-knows…"
Brock shrugs "Still if I am not sure about something then that means it been too long, however as you said back to business." The massive Troll was about to say more but Musara and Carpenter bring up valid questions, Brock now waits to hair answers.
Johnson leans back in his seat, taking a final drag before putting the cigarette out and reaching into his jacket. He pulls out a chip and lays it down on the table. "Man in charge was a Christian Haltom. I think they already sent in a guy or two to check things out… no word from them yet. The town pretty much went black about a week ago, so they're pretty sure its not just some simple accident. Something happened there, and they're pretty sure its bad. They /did/ have security, but they'd have checked in by now, so they're assuming they're MIA. If you guys end up vanishing as well, I think they plan to send a strike force in to mop things up, but they'd rater not have to do that."
"I'd rather they not either," Wolf mutters, "…cuz that means somethin' 'appened ta -us-… an' I can't drink 'n shoot if 'm dead…" The redhead reaches out for the chip, quick for the little thing she is, and slots it before passing it along around the table. She saves questions, since everyone else seems to be doing well on that front.
Hunni shakes her head a little and frowns, looking between the others. "If this is the standard 'in a hole' town I can get up high and see what I can see, but if something wiped out a whole team down there then I'm not sure my Remmington is going to pass the 'kill them fast' test.
The chip has the coordinates for the town, a little place really. Population 1450. Most of those that live there work for the corporation, weither in the mines, or just making the place more livable. It doesn't list who the corp is, or what they're mining though. There is a bit of a ledger of who's who. Security, miners, civvies, and the big guy Christian.
Carpenter rolls his eyes. "Well, I'm glad t' be th' next step up on th' response chart in some middle manager's office." He reaches for the chip, too, but is beaten to it, so simply has to wait for the woman to finish with it. "I'd repeat my friend's question, though: What th' 'ell was th' security team armed with? Because if it was five men with assault rifles, I don't like 'ow this stories playin' out."
He pauses. "Beyond that, standard questions. Preferences on salvage, and conduct of prisoners or those surrenderin'? As this is a corp town, an' we're bein' sent in by th' corp, they care what hardware we bring? Penalties for collateral damage or deaths?"
"Hmm.." Musara shrugs "Well.. it sounds a bit dangerous, think I might pass on this one. Sorry guys, and congrats on the kid again, omae." He stands from the table and gives everyone else a nod before leaving.
Brock nods to what Musara says "Yeah it does sound dangerouse. We are going into the unknown." Brock now says his other usual line "Johnny can you sweeten up the pot a little bit more for this run?"

Johnson chuckles slightly and shrugs. "Probably standard security outfit I think. Small town, so probably nothing heavier then an SMG and pistols. Though the corp would of course prefer you /didn't/ kill their employees. If possible, they want you to try and protect them and deal with whatever threat there might be with whatever forces you deem needed. Collateral should be kept to a minimum if at all possible. Suppose I should mention that your employers are Saeder-Krupp, so they're diffenatly not someone you want to get on the badside of in my opinion." He glances over at Brock and smiles, shaking his head. "Well, I'm sure the pay justifies whatever risk you guys might be taking on, right?"
"Y'sure there ain' a lil' extra 'azard pay in it…?" Wolf leans back, taking her shots one after the other. "…good day ta die's one thing, but ain' sweet if some kinna disaster means I gotta regrow a buncha new skin…" she mumbles. "..again."

But things 'appen in conflicts like these, an' if we're dealing with Ghouls, I might sacrfice a buildin' t' save lives. So, peanlties, rather." He pauses, and swears. "Bloody Jerries. Brock smiles as he spots every one trying to get a bit more money. "I like this group all ready." He shrugs to Argos "I guess you are right, and when you are right your right."
Johnson shakes his head before reaching over to his beer to take a sip. "Sorry, that's the offer on the table ladies and gents. If its not enough for you guys to want to risk, I'll understand. Were there any other questions?"
Wolf snorts, "Fuuuckit… beats' tryin' ta get a car loan… as excitin' as th'bank can be some days…" she mumbles, grinning. The redhead looks up to Hunni, "…you got any qualms with this one, Longbow?"
Hunni laughs a little as Wolf clearly picks her radio callsign for her this time. Looking between the others she shrugs and nods. "Like she said, it's better then nothing, I'm in. The question is if I can get my hands on some bigger firepower. A good gun helps with the 'everyone's probably dead' nerves.
Brock looks over to Hunni "I have an extra shotgun you can borrow if you really need it."
Carpenter nods. "I'm fine with the pay, then. It's enough, provided this doesn't turn into a clusterfuck." He looks over to Hunni. "Well, maybe this is as good a' time as any t' get specialities slapped on th' table.
Wolf smirks at Brock, "…Bow ain' th'shotgun sort… thas' me…" she points her thumb at her chest. "…good offerin' though…" she nods approvingly to the troll. "I'll bring a lil' in th'way of demolitions if'n all else… mebbe mine's sunk in a bit…" She looks to Carpenter. "Shotgun, mainly…" she folds her arms. "…sneaky, too."
Brock nods to Wolf "I am no Ninja but for a big man I can be pretty silent when sneaking is needed. Close combat is my thing, either with my shotgun or with my cougar fine blade. I am a little bit better with the gun then the blade at this point."
Hunni raises a hand at Brock's offer and nods in agreement with Wolf before looking to Carpenter. "I'm a Sniper, but I can hold my own short range if it comes to it."
"I can bring a LAW or two if'n there's need for rock clearin'…." Wolf adds softly, then nods to Hunni. "'m Longbow's spotter, usually… an' I ain' bad in a brawl, I jus' prefer m'boomstick…"
Carpenter pauses for a moment, sighing and slowly withdrawing a pack of ciggettes. "All right. My speciality is 'eavy weapons. Anythin' that does a lot a' damage, I can 'andle it." He says, before pointing around the circle. "All right. We got two breachers, an' a sniper. I got a Barret in stock, if this bloody new memory serves. Black Panther an' a SPAS, as well, if they're needed. I suggest we meet our seperate ways, get kit t'gether that we /all/ would need, an' then convoy from th' Rez t' th' IP. Sound good?"
Hunni 's eyes go a little wide at the mention of that Barrett and she glances towards wolf and leans in a little. "Well it never hurts to have a lightning rod on your side, big rifles like that do leave some pretty big holes.
Brock nods to what Carpenter says "Sounds like a plan, though this is the first time I am working you guys. Mind if I get your names don't feel like saying hey you all the time, I am Brock Mc'Nasty. Plus can some one get some glow in the dark paint or something as effective as that? We have no idea how deep down we are going, leaving marks so we can find our way back might be helpful."
Carpenter nods to the man. "Odd name. You'll forgive me if I'm not gonna give my Christian name out because we all agree t' drive t' a desolete town with no witnesses. Fuiliser works for radio calls an' contact."
Carpenter says "An' don't worry bout that drek; easy enough t' fine that at a bleedin' stuffer shack somewhere."
Wolf nods, "Broadsword 'ere.." the redhead sits back, arms folded as she waits for everyone else to give out their names, callsigns, nicknames, dogs' names, whatever.
«Plot» Argos says, "Oh, and the town is about a two to three hour drive I think."
Brock nods to Wolf "Ok so Broadsword, he then looks to Carpenter "And Christian, I can work with those names."
Carpenter clears his throat. "Fuiliser. Not Christian. I wouldn't right care if it wasn't for th' boss a' this operation an' 'is name.
Hunni nods and leans back. "I suppose it's time for us to get to it then…" she says before looking to 'Fuiliser'. "Lets go get this toy of your out of storage and into the light."
Its a long drive (hopefully everyone showered), taking around two and a half hours to get there. Eventually, the group arrives at the outskirts of the town, and… its look normal enough. Buildings dotted all over the place, homes and stores. Just one thing is off… No one is out and about, not a soul in sight. Should they drive closer, some of the buildings even look boarded up or barricaded in other ways.
Broadsword travelled light, as light as she really can. A pair of LAW tubes and her shotgun, with shells stuffed into her myriad of pouches. She whistles softly, peering at the town through her cybereyes, zooming in. "…well bloody 'ell that doesn' look right at all…" she murmurs.
«Plot» Argos says, "Perception checks please"
Carpenter drives the Roadmaster with the people in the back like so much cargo, fully armored and kitted, for the moment, his AR and LMG on the floor between driver and passenger. He'll drive a bit closer to some of the buildings, slowing down as he approches. "No, not at all, not at /all/…" He says, before moving to honk the horn, twice, attempting to illicit a reaction from anyone around. "Not very good if we can't figure out what's 'appened t' these people. I'm gonna try t' see if we can't part at whatever passes for a' town 'all round 'ere."

Boomstick pages: Do they look like they're following the man since he's hauling ass to the truck?
You paged Boomstick with 'Nope, they're making a beeline right for the truck'.
"Ey… 'ey…" Broadsword grabs at Fusilier's shoulder, pointing at the clouds with her free hand. "…th'fuck's this?" she growls. The man isn't something she's looking at. She has her eyes on the sky. "…back it up back it up…!" she looks over her shoulder real quick, letting go of Carpenter's shoulder to pull out her shotgun just in case, like a security bear or something. Man she must like that shotgun almost as much as she likes the sniper.
Carpenter looks over to the grip on his shoulder from the small girl, slowing down, before coming to a stop. He leans down to crane his head under the windshield. "Weird weather pattern, I know. I'm bleedin' English, so we're a bit used t' 'em-" He says, but knows enough that words like those from someone who has urgency probably meant immediate action required. He issues a mental command to shift gears to reverse, and places up a little acceleration, the vehicle moving in reverse, guided by rear cameras.
As the man gets closer he starts waving his arms frantically, though stops a few meters away from the truck. "Get out of the truck, hurry!" He starts pointing at the sky… right at the stormclouds that Hunni and Boomstick spotted moving towards the truck.

"Fookin'-a…" the redhead hisses and yanks herself out of the truck behind Carpenter, shotgun in one hand, bundled LAWs in the other. She grunts as she hits the ground, watching the clouds and probably moving a but too far laterally than need be. Boomstick is sure Fusilier can handle the freaked-out dude.
Hunni nods in agreement a truck is just a coffin with wheels if things go bad and she can run pretty fast anyway. Climbing out she's ready to leg it if she needs to.
Brock sighs "This is off to a great start." Brock now takes himself out of the truck and looks to go to where the man is.
The man glances up at the sky again and then back to the group. "Quickly, get inside before the hunting parties come looking!" He motions to the building, the door still open. He doesn't seem inclined to wait as he starts running back to the door, turning his back on the group. Either they follow or they don't, he did what he could!
Though after everyone gets out of the truck, lightning strikes all around the vehicle, but doesn't actually hit it. The two stormclouds seem to… 'rest' above the truck as if waiting.
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Broadsword. Take point. Keep the man covered and shread anything inside if it's a trap"

She stares, still rigid, orbiting around the truck and only nodding her affirmitive to the man. She secures her LAWs inside her coat, and follows, running, bringing her shotgun up in both hands now. Boomstick pages: What th'fook was THAT?! Son of a fraggin' bitch! All th'Saints an' apostles an'… what th'ell's goin' on with that?!" and "…an' now I ain' got an excuse t'say I ain' gettin' paid enough fer this shit…"
Hunni follows at center, her rifle raised as they all move. "Hunting parties?" she repeats under her breath. Hunting parties already tells them there's more then one 'thing' here. Hearing Broadsword's rant she shakes her head. "Bitch later, move now!" she says as they run.
Carpenter looks to the man who leads them on, fighting the urge to sream at him for more information, before the man starts running. He'll look back to the party, shooting the Irish one a quick message over the comm, and watches her grind back into gear. He follows after the two, before yelling to Broadsword outloud. "English, damn it, /English/!"
Brock was already making his way to the man when he got out of the truck. He takes the strangers advice running to the building with the open door.
The man moves inside and steps to the side, waiting for everyone to get inside. There are two more people in the room, looking rather nervous. No traps so far it seems. Once everyone is in, they all seem to move at once, shutting the door and bolting it… and then pushing a couch to block the door.
"Fragging hell… thought you guys were going to get blown up in that thing…" The tanned man still seems spooked, but is slowly relaxing and catching his breath.
Back to English now, "What the shit was that?!" Broadsword hisses. She doesn't have her gun pointed at anyone. In fact, when the room seems safe, she puts the thing over one shoulder, yanks out her hip flask, and downs at least two shots worth of whatever she's carrying with her. "…so we got some magic bullshit flyin' over our ride… an' some kinna 'untin' party now?" she growls.
Stepping into the room before it's all blocked. Seeing Boomstick down that drink she shoots her a look before looking to the other nervous people in the room. First thing she's doing is looking for weapons on them, the next is any obvious injuries. If she's freaking out she's not showing it, but she's the quiet type.
Once inside Brock says to the man "Thanks for the help back there. You mind telling us what is going on? What happened to this place, perhaps we can be of help."
Carpenter enters the room after the two in front of him, waiting for them to push the couch in front of the door. He turns to look out of whatever window, boarded up slit or not, from the place, watching lightening striking around them, and swallowing for a moment, taking slow breathes. A slightly shaking hand moves with practiced, well drilled efficency to the pack of ciggerette's he has, quickly lighting one of them with a high tempature lighter and sucking down ash as if he needed it to live. It takes a good thirty seconds before he takes another breath, and turns to the people in the room. "First thing's your conditions. Are you armed, and are you wounded. Second is information. I need t' know what th' frag that was out there, who caused it, an' what are those-" He pauses for a moment to drop his first ciggerette to the ground, grinding the butt with his bootheal as he immediatly lights another. "Those 'untin' parties?" He adds, as an afterthought. "We're a team a' contractors sent by th' company, mandate t' eliminate threats an' protect personnel an' Property."
Carpenter adds to Broadsword. "Keep that drek to a minimum."
The man moves to take a seat at the dining table, laying his shotgun down on it. The other two people, one man, one woman, are both armed with pistols. "We aren't hurt so far… thank God for that… we have two more people in the other room." He points to the woman, and then the man. "Robin, and that's Albert." He points a thumb to himself then before motioning towards another room. "I'm David, and in the other room is Lisa and Grant. Poor Grant… we have to keep an eye on him… poor bleeder keeps trying to off himself." He sighs and looks over the group again. "The hunting parties are a group of… well, I guess a gang of sorts… they come out mostly at night and raid some of the buildings, kidnapping people and taking them to the mines. Don't know what they do with them, but we hear so many God-aweful screams…"
Broadsword wiggles her flask at Carpenter and Hunni. "…s'watered down… makes it last. An' I still got plenny of blood in m'alcohol stream…" she grumbles, putting the flask away. "Of sorts?" she then asks, quirking a brow at the mention of the gang. "…what was th'damn light show?" she asks.
Carpenter Remains standing for the moment, burning throw cheap corporate tobacco and a prodigious rate. "All right, then, David. Ya might want t' tell Grant not t' off 'imself. That's one less bullet, an' one less man who can fire a gun." He says, before going around the crowd. "Broadsword, Longbow, an' Brock." Better to try to pretend he had a handle on things. It made it true, sometimes. Sometimes. At least it kept panic from overwhelming him and running a belt down. " Company lost contact with ya a week ago. 'ow many a' ya are left in th' town? Can ya estimate? Is there a reason ya 'aven't been able t' radio back?"
He looks over to Longbow. "Check an' see if this place 'as a second floor, roof access. I'd like someone with a long reach on overwatch."
Hunni nods in agreement before checking over their own people. Looking back to the speaking man she frowns a little. "A 'gang' of sorts. Are they people? Human or Meta-Human looking?" she questions before nodding to Carpenter and his words. "Alright, but i'm going to avoid the roof with those things up there…"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "…Fraggin' good point. Sorry. A bit rattled, and I'd rather these people not know it. Keep us posted on comms?"
Brock nods when Carpenter says his name. With Carpenter handling things Brock decides to say nothing. Hunni seems to asking the questions that Brock would have asked.
Hunni waits for her questions to be answered before she goes anywhere.
David sighs and shakes his head, looking like he might pass out any minute. Seems sleep is a luxury here. "They destroyed our communications a week ago… hell, things got weird about two weeks ago, but no one could see this drek coming. Sections of the mine were shut down, no one knew why… people stopped showing up for work, no explanation… and then that gang attacked, destroying our link to the outside world, and those… cloud things destroy anyone trying to leave! We're trapped in this town and can't get out…" He almost sobs, but holds it in. "And… the gang, those hunting parties… the fucked up part is that they were /us/! They were our neighbors and co-workers! They just went fucking crazy and starting taking people! Bill… I worked with him… I saw him jump a guy and /bite/ a chuck of some bleeder's arm off because he was fighting back! He fucking ate his arm!"
Broadsword mutters, "Ain't logical… eatin' people alive? Where's that get fun?" She looks at her flask again upon hearing the story, almost longingly. Coping mechanism. She hugs her shotgun instead, muttering and glancing towards a window. "…so we're stuck 'ere 'til we figure out what th'fuck's goin' on then?" she sighs softly. "Bet'cha there's somethin' deep in th'mines then… if'n that's where it started. What were y'all diggin' up anyway?"
Carpenter swallows a bit, trying to use the surreality of the situation to keep the despair at bay, while at the same time confronting it as a detached problem. Hard enough to do with someone sobbing out the fucked up particulars right in front of you. "All right. Calm down. Ya may want t' punch me for sayin' that, but /calm down/. We regard this with a level 'ead, we get out a 'ere alive." He looks over to Broadsword, not… really enjoying the compliment, but nodding at her question. "We don't seem t' be dealin' with regular combatants… It almost…" Her pauses, before taking another breath. "What section a' th' mine was closed off first? Was there any reports about anythin' strange?" Ghouls? They ate people. But who heard of a group abducting others?
Nodding in agreement with Carpenter the sniper woman seems to be thinking this over, but she taps boomstick on the shoulder to follow her up and nods to the others, hoping they'll keep the radio open so she can hear the conversation downstairs while she moves off to go have a look. Why take Boomstick? Better to not be caught alone in these kinds of things.
David sighs and sits back in his seat. "I don't know much about the mine… they were digging up some sort of metals, that's all I know. Hell, I don't even know who all is even alive anymore or who I can trust outside of this house not to try and drag me off! I'd have shot at you lot if I didn't see you guys drive in…"
While there isn't really a second floor, there /is/ an attic with a window they can look out of.
Carpenter looks at the two move up stairs, and nods, before turning back to David. "All right. Are ya all armed? Do any a' ya know how t' 'andle an M22, M23? An' lastly, did ya notice anyone else come in t' town, recently?" He pauses for a moment, then pulls out a chair for the dining table. "Your company sent us 'ere t' solve this problem, an' ya can see we aren't local security, in skill or armamants. If we don't solve this problem, they send in a strike team t' deal with it. So, don't worry. We're gonna get ya folks out a' this. Ya scan?"
Boomstick follows Hunni as she moves up to the attic. She keeps her shotgun handy, though if everyone but the one crazy guy is on the level here, there ought not be any threats for the time being. She smirks, listening on the comm before responding.
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Yeah freaky shit… must be important fer th'pay though…"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "It's a resource mine. It's all important. Now, comm conferance, so listen up."
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "Just a thought, does anyone have the skills to check these people themselves? I don't really want to be suprised by one of these guys turning out to be infected."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "We'll post them on some duty that keeps 'em contained. They become a threat, our lives first. I'd rather not have to kill any of them, though."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Now, what I told them, as you can probably tell, is only half bullshit. I don't beleive a response plan was part of the briefing, but we don't know if and when it's coming, or their strength when it does."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "That leaves us with two choices. Hole up here, in this building, and survive as many days as we can until reinforcemnts arrive, or hit that mine and see if we can't eliminate a source."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Thoughts?"
Hunni steps up into the attick with Boomstick, her rifle raised as she looks around. Assuming it's clear she'll gesture to the window for Boomstick to play spotter and check while she checks her weapon and sets up the bipod and looks for something to brace up against without trying to lean out the window.
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "Getting to the mines with those clouds is going to be an issue, we probably need to deal with that first."
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Five of us an' a mine fulla freaks sounds like a party but ain' th'sort I really wanna be invited to… but cut off th'snake an' all… 'sides mebbe there's a back way or some kinna maintenance tunnel…"
Brock looks over to Carpenter "Are you done asking David questions? If so I have a question or two of my own."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "It's an enclosed area, and we've got two breachers. I feel more comfortable about our odds, but, right, I don't like the chances. It's either deal with them in there, or deal with them out here. The cloud seems to focus on our vehicle. It might not focus on men on foot."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "If we can deal with the clouds, then make no mistake. This is a bug out. Too many possible threats and not a bloody magical expert in a three hour drive."
David stands and moves off to the kitchen. Seems the water still works for now as he gets himself a glass of water. "A few people came in… some are hiding in here, and some are already dead. One tried to gun it out of here, only to have those cloud things blow them up. That's all those things do, they keep us in here one way or another so we can't get out of town…"
Wolf follows the sniper's instructions, moving to peek out the window, see if she can't see anything outside. She's looking both for any movers, human or otherwise, as well as the layout of the town just in case. She leans to the side of the window a bit, also, trying to keep out of sight in case anyone's peeking back at her.
Carpenter nods to David. "All right; do they stop ya when walkin' around town, or to th' mine? Or only when you're 'eadin' out? That's important. It tells us what we can do t'… tactically resolve this problem a' yours.
David comes back to the table and sits down, taking a drink. "Hell, no one walks around, they don't want to be snatched up. A few tried going to the mines to see if they could figure things out, but they never came back. Ain't nothing but self preservation keeping people locked up and hiding."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Okay, folks; seems like we want to resolve this problem at the source. Everyone ready for a little hike?"

Are the hunting parties that come out at night and the ones that come out during the day the same type of people? Plus is there a connection to the clouds and the hunting parties, does it seem like the noise the clouds create alerts the hunting parties or have there been times the hunting parties in the day time has came out with out the clouds making any noise. And about the clouds, you said they kill any one trying to leave. Does this mean we can walk around freely in town if we don't try to leave with out the clouds making any noise or trying to attack us?"
Her rifle slung over her back Hunni's pulling a box over to set up as both cover and something to brace against and sets up her bipod, checking that scope of hers to see what it might be able to see. You paged Hunni with 'When they get close enough, you can see four men on motorcycles riding around, obviously looking for something… it won't take them long to finally spot the truck'.
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "I've got four contacts on bikes, male, humanoid and liking the look of our truck. Anyone got anything expencive in there?"
Carpenter turns his head for the moment at the sounds of engines, and stands up, looking around the room for a window facing outward to the street. He flicks up the comm as he sees if he can't set a firing position up there. "David, I need to know if any of you can 'andle an Assault Rifle." He says.
Hunni pages: Any visible weapons/features
You paged Hunni with 'They appear to be armed yes. They're clothes are a little ragged… one of them appears to be wearing a uniform of sorts'.
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Well they know we're 'ere… 'ow about we lay low fer now, else we piss off th'hive by throwin' rocks at th'workers?"
Hunni pages: Armed with what?
You paged Hunni with 'Some sort of firearms, hard to make out. One might have an SMG or a large pistol'.
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Copy. All my gear's on me. The truck, however, is bloody expensive. I trust you're the charitiable sorts that'll chip in for a new one. Other than that, good idea. Hold fire, but be prepared to engage if they notice us; we can't have them reporting back."
The people in the room are starting to freak. When asked the question, David quickly shakes his head. "Frag, I can barely hold on to my shotgun when I shoot it!"
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "They're carrying, guns of some sort. Don't see any rifles but that could still mean anything from holdouts to SMG's. I can open on them quietly, but they're going to notice when someone gets turned to jelly…"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Your spotter have a rangefinder set up?"
Commlink-Brock> Brock says, "I will play this the way you guys want, but the way I see things if we go to the mines we are just going to have to deal with these guys then and there will be more of them. If we takes these guys out now less we have to deal with later."
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Aye, I got a rangefinder. I can get a good shot at long range with m'shotty… slugs'n all. But I ain' no sniper."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "We could fire on them; attract more of them to this position and use the distraction to get into the mine. But that means these people are going to die, and we could be caught between two forces if their expeditionary returns before we're out of here. And that's okay. Range card on my MG is about 75 meters if I want to rip through them like a bandsaw."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Keep them targeted, and call out when they've reached that range. We can decide if we want to kill them at that time."
The bikers outside come to a stop, two of them dismounting to look around the truck before looking around at the houses. They don't seem to affected by the sunlight, but lord do they look like a mess! Like they haven't bathed in awhile, and even look like they've been messy eaters with some of the blood stains.
Carpenter moves to drag a piece of furniture from the side, pressing the barrel of the LMG through the windows before covering it up with a curtian, and undoing the bipod to rest on the impromptu stand. This /was/ going to hurt if it wouldn't be enough to support the weight.
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "I could put a rocket on their rides but thas' just another boom for th'others an' I might hit yer truck…"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Leave the bikes. They could come in handy."

Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "I've got two Pred's and a blade"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "I've got an M-23 with me. Good with assault rifles?"
The two men around the truck move back to the bikes, starting to talk with the other two. They're all still glancing around, trying to figure out where they're new prey might have gotten off to.
Inside, the civvies are starting to get rather nervous, tightening their grips on their guns.

Carpenter says quietly to the civilians, looking down his smartlinked gunsight. "Stay calm. Keep your weapons safed until we fire."
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "That'd be a waste, luv…"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Those bikes are probably in limited supply. Decision time for the room. Ambush or let them past?"
There's a brief bit of noise from another room before its suddenly quiet. Sounded like someone was about to scream before getting muffled. The men outside don't seem to have heard it and the two on foot move to remount their bikes.
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Th'drek was that?"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Civilian got a bit antsy down here."
Commlink-Brock> Brock says, "You said that killing them would only bringing more. Might as well stick with the plan and let them leave if they are going."

Carpenter looks over to the scream with a small tch of his head, bitting the urge to hiss out a repreimand. Instead, he keeps watch, intent on letting them go, for now.
Hunni frowns as she hears the muffled noise and looks away from her scope, glancing towards Boomstick. "Wasn't there ment to be two other civies in this building?"
Boomstick mumbles, "…'m gonna take a peek… they said there was some suicidal bugger in 'ere somewhere… I'll tap Fusilier real quick…"

Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "I'll keep station. Brock, can you go into the living room and check on those two?"
The men do eventually got on the bikes and rev the engines. That little broadcast done, the start to drive off, heading back into the center of town.
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "They're leaving, heading towards the town center from the looks of things, they'll be out of my angle in a moment."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Let them go. When they're out of range, get back down here. We need to move."
Boomstick pulls away from the attic ascent, moving to tap Hunni on the shoulder. "…see if there's anythin' higher we can get atop of 'n get a better view… this attic sucks."
Hunni nods and folds back the bipod, picking up her rifle and moving to regroup with the others. "Higher ground is all well and good, but i'd rather not get hit by a lightning bolt today,"
Boomstick shrugs, "…didn' chase us… an' if th'guy down there's right, they only go all hunter-killer if we try 'n leave.."
«Plot» Argos says, "There /are/ a few taller buildings around. A few more near the center of town"
In the other room, which turns out to be a bedroom… here's a man on the bed, with a woman on top of him. Minds out of the gutters, chums, she's pinning him down to the bed and her hands are covering his mouth and he's struggling against her. Must be Grant and Lisa.
Carpenter takes a sigh of releif as the men move away, before lifting his MG up and folding the Bipod. "They're gone. All right. We're goin' to re group, folks, and be out of your house in just a moment." He says, before moving past David to check on the group in the bedroom. "What th' 'ell's goin' on 'ere?"
Lisa blinks a bit as she hears a voice. "He heard the engines stop outside the house and started freaking out…" Grant seems to be done being pinned down, and with her turning away and distracted… throws her off of him. Lisa lands on the floor with a startled 'eep', a nice thud sounding as well. He's up then and looks like he's about to try and make a grab for the gun in her belt.
It does not look like Brock is happy or disappointed that there was no combat. "Ready to go when you are." He says to Carpenter.

Carpenter quickly walks forward as the altercation starts, grabbing the hand that reaches for the gun, the other hand /slammed/ on his shoulder as his leg sweeps behind him, bringing both of them to the ground, as he stares right into his eyes. "Mate." He says calmly, quietly. "Are ya listenin'?"
Grant gives a startled cry himself as his hand is grabbed and the next thing he knows, he's wheezing on the floor, stunned and not sure what the hell just happened to him. Hearing the voice, he looks up at Carpenter stupidly.
Lisa picks herself up off the floor, rubbing the back of her head from where she hit the floor. "Thanks…"
"See, I can't do sumfin' like that without first whackin' a guy upside th'face wit' a barstool or summat…" Boomstick remarks, the short redhead peeking into the doorway after her descentwith Hunnifrom the attic.

Grant just trembles and his lips move, but no words are coming out. The man seems to have completely lost it now. When noise does come out, its just that, a little noise. Something akin to a high pitched whine. Seems he finds Carpenter as scary as those outside waiting for them.
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Whose got restriants?"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "This fragger is worthless."
Boomstick probably has more balls than Grant does. She doesn't hear Fusilier's speech, but something oddly compels her to give herself a 'man check' as she palms her crotch for a split second. She seems satisfied, then folds her arms, giving a shake of her head to indicate that she's not carrying anything that could be used to tie the poor slot up. Being that she also lacks a transducer, she doesn't make any suggestions.
Commlink-Brock> Brock says, "Have none on me."
Hunni looks between all the others and tilts her head to the side. "Anyone got flexi-cuffs?" she says lightly before looking towards Brock to see his answer. "I don't want to be putting my only grapple line out for this guy.
Boomstick rocks on her heels, "…I'unno… wrap 'im up in sheets 'n use a lamp cord or sumfin…" she looks around the room. Nothing in her pockets save shotgun shells and more shotgun shells. And some ration bars.
Carpenter looks into the man's eyes, and shows disgust, as he stands up. He looks to Lisa, before pointing to the bed. "Grab those sheets an' 'elp me tie 'im up. I've not got time t' babysit 'im.
Lisa blinks a bit as she moves to get the bedsheets. Why didn't they think of that? Probably more concerned about being kidnapped and eaten… She pulls the sheets off of the bed and hands them to Carpenter.
Grant doesn't really move, looking more like he might faint given anymore scares.
"You want Longbow 'n me ta scoot out of 'ere an' get some 'igher ground real quick-like?" Boomstick jerks a thumb down the hall. "Two of us'll be 'arder ta spot 'n we can report back while yer hog-tyin' this guy with wot we're seein'."
Carpentergrabs the sheet when offered, and binds the man as best he can, tightening up the sheets like a man who's trained to detain insurgents. He yells to Longbow. "Go. Take up a position at a high point above th' town square. Brock an' I will join you soon."
Hunni nods and moves to step behind Boomstick, patting her on the shoulder. "If we get eaten, it's your turn to do the dishes…" she mutters.
"Yeah yeah, I got'cha…" Wolf mumbles as she's patted, and slips back into the hallway. When she gets to the main room she nods to Brock and David and the others, "…aright, let us out.. we got work t'do. Brock, stick wit' Fusilier, we're gonna see if'n we can't get higher up…"
Brock was just watching people seems like the others in those group know each other well and he is the odd troll out. He gives a nod to Wolf "Will do what what I can."

"Guess we'll try and hold things down here… Be careful out there, and don't trust anyone… If there's more people out there, they might shoot first and then try and figure out who you are…"
Boomstickbrings her shotgun up, checking outside the door first to see if it's clear to duck out.

Boomstick slings her shotgun and starts scrambling up the fire escape. The movement catches her eye ever too late, and the shotgun leveled at her through the window sends her askance on the ladder, most of the hit absorbed by her armor. Doesn't make it sting any less though. The short redhead keeps scrambling, though, "Ya barmy idjit 'm on yer side! 'old yer goddamn fire! Gonna piss off th'freaks!" She calls to the window as she rolls onto the roof, laying on her back and bringing her own showtun up in case there's any more surprises up top.
You paged Hunni with 'You can just barely see the guy… just as he moves out of the window now that he can't get another shot off at Boomstick.'.
Hearing that gunshot Hunni instinctively ducks and presses herself to the wall, scanning around her eyes narrow on the man who's ducking back into the window, but she never got a good look at him.
No answer responds to Boomstick's paniced shouts. The roof is clear for the most part, but there /is/ a door that leads inside of the building there, so it might not be to safe just yet.
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Longbow, can you give a sitrep?"
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "We've reached a three story building off to the side, but we've come under fire…"
Boomstick pulls herself to her feet, leveling her shotgun at the door as she stares at it. "…great…" she mutters, looking around the roof for a few moments, seeing what sort of ledge it has and whatnot for ducking behind, but she's always got an eye on that door just in case.
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Copy. Do we have a safe path to move forward?"
Hunni looks up to boomstick climbing and then around the street level.
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Shotgun in th'window by th'fire escape, fragger tagged me but I ain' bleedin' yet. Make sure they didn' wake anyone up, yeh?"
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "I…can't really be sure."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Wilco. We'll hold back, but we can't hold here forever."
«Plot» Argos says, "Nothing is happening on the roof just yet. The door is more then likely barricaded as well. Everything goes quiet once again"
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "Well it's all quiet out. I'm not so sure I wanna climb up there now myself if i'm just going to eat a shotgun shell…"
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "There's a door up 'ere… ain' checked it yet. Y'jus' want me ta get a good look 'round from up 'ere an' get back down?"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "We'll have to risk it. Give me what you see, esspecially on the town center; we'll deploy from there."
You paged Boomstick with 'Looking over town towards the center, not exactly a town hall over there. What looks to be a warehouse and a factory, probably where they refine what they mine up. The mine is more then likely nearby as well, and you can just make out a few cranes as well.'.
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Aright… looks like a buncha stuff… some kinna ware'ouse 'n factory. Buncha cranes far off, but… ain' a holiday village over 'ere, but… Not seein' much else, no movers either."
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "Someone wanna ask the civvies if they know who might be in the three story building? Might help us tell them not to shoot us."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "We're already away, unfortunatly. I've got some Gel rounds if we want to go in non leathal."

Carpenter looks at his watch, once more, grimacing, then nods to Brook. "I don't like sittin' 'ere. Come on; we'll get t' a side a' th' buildin', an' 'old there, away from th' windows." He nods, and then starts moving at a moderate jog to where the sniper and her spotter were headed.
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "We're headed in. Hold fire."
Brock shakes his head as he looks to Carpenter, does not make sense sending scouts if they are not waiting for the scouting party however he will not let Carpenter go by himself so he follows.
«Plot» Argos says, "Hunni, you'll get to the roof in a little over a minute. So, need a pose from you"
Hunni stows her rather large rifle on her back and digs for her grapple gun, aiming it high and firing it for the roof. With the spool the climb shouldn't be that long, but with the large rifle and avoiding people with shotguns she'll be a moment.
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "Broadsword, i'm coming up just away from the windows…"
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "'m watchin' th'far side 'ere… buncha cranes way off, mebbe 'igher up places but ain' seein' much else…"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Anything near the town center?"
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Like I said b'fore, jus' a warehouse 'n such… no movers."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "All right. Can you two go mobile, or do you have good lines of sight if Brock and I investigate forward?"
Boomstick has been watching the 'town square' since she'd re-oriented herself on the roof. Occasionally she looks over her shoulder to the roof access, but stays firmly entrenched otherwise, trying to see if there's anything else that's visible or more suspicious than it is currently.
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "We got a good spot up 'ere, boyo."
With a little 'umpf' Hunni hauls herself over the edge and grunts, straightening up and retracting her grapple line she looks around the roof before looking to the roof access door with a little frown, trying to see if it's barricaded. "Boomstick, you checked if this is secure? I don't want shotgun man paying us a visit…"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "COpy. Moving forward to the town square, now."

Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "So. Up the road, or around the side; I'd rather keep covered by that troll killer of yours. Got a preference?"
Commlink-Brock> Brock says, "Around the side if we are going with trying avoid a fight like we did before."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "If they're waiting for us, it won't avoid it; it'll just kill our range advantage and make it harder for the sniper to cover us."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "If they can cover us going around, fine; if not, I want to move up the road."
Commlink-Brock> Brock says, "If they knew we were here then we should have taken out that patrol earlier to lessen their numbers."
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "I can cover you the whole way up the road, if you go the buildings there's a few blind spots, but not as many if you just cut across between them."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Yes, and Dunkhalzahn really should have avoided limosines on inaugration day; Let's keep the what if's to a minimum. Let's go around the buildings. Cover us as much as you can, and keep us apparised when you can't fire."
Commlink-Brock> Brock says, "Sounds good, just next time don't bring up what if's then ask to keep them to a minimum."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "I'll specify; the past is the past."
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Ain' a lot I can do up 'ere, Longbow's th'sniper, shotgun ain' built fer range. Now cut the bloody chatter, or I'm comin' down there an' knockin' yer heads t'gether."
Carpenter thinks for a moment, debating over the radio, before nodding over to Brock. "All right. We'll do it your way; let's go around the buildings and keep as covered as possible. Give that shotgun a' yours th' best range a' damage." He says, nodding to Brock to take point as he keeps the LMG up.
Brock gives Carpenter a nod "Now you are talking." Brock now moves on ahead using the cover of the buildings as best he can.

Carpenter stops as they move forward, suddenly, sighting the four men ahead of them getting closer than he's comfortable with. He hunkers down again, pursing dry, cracked lips as he waits. Once they're on ahead, he'll move forward again.
Hunni 's still tracking that group of four through her scope, but if there's anything else to be seen she hasn't seen it yet. Such a thing is a risk, but that's why she's got a spotter, even if said spotter is a little busy. "Boomstick, see if there's anything I can set up as a little 'trap' back there and get up here.
Brock notices the four men ahead of him, he has his shotgun out ready to fire but notices they they don't notice him so he lets them walk by. Once the men are out of sight he will move on.
«Plot» Argos says, "The four men finally walk out of sight of Carpenter and Brock. Its slow going, but the two of them are slowly getting closer to the center of town. They can even make out the factory and the warehouse occassionally!"
Wolf doesn't have anything to seal the door with, so she just slinks back to Hunni, peering over her shoulder at the town square. "…still got 'em in our sight? Good…" she mumbles. "…we're gonna hafta move our butts soon… night's comin' too."

Brock shakes his head to Carpenter "Never heard of him, just going to have deal with what you got. A troll and his new shotgun that he has been dying to use." He now strokes his shotgun and says to it "The Answer, soon they will see there are no questions that you can't deal with."

Hunni looks to the others pointed out to her silently and nods before returning her eyes to the movers. One hand resting with her finger on the trigger guard rather then the trigger itself as she traces her other hand almost lovingly down the stock of her new weapons. It's been a while since she's held this model of rifle after all, but there's a nice nostalgia about looking down this scope at a target.
Boomstick pecks Hunni on the cheek, "Don' make me jealous now," she teases the sniper gently, giving the woman's back a quick rub, before shifting positions to keep her eyes on their teammates. She speaks into the comm, adjusting her earpiece a bit.
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Soon as y'figger yer close 'nuff an' got a good place ta watch back, tell us when t'move in… ain' gonna spy on th'mine from up 'ere."
«Plot» Argos says, "The four men eventually met up with the two at the factory and start talking. Who know's what about, probably better not to know. The group of six start moving for the door, still walking calmly and none of them seems to notice the two runners tailing them. About ten meters away… is the entrance into the mines that goes underground. Twenty meters from that is the warehouse."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "WIlco; we'll set up a firing position at town square. Cover you; it looks like we've got a few sites to investigate."
You paged (Hunni, Boomstick) with 'BTW, the factory is about 250 meters from where you two are'.

Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "I'll set up a position facing the road when we reach the town square; With the field of fire I have, anyone coming up it is paste on the pavement."
Carpenter looks to the six people move into the factory, before starting to pick up the pace, going on a slow jog to the town square; he's looking for low walls or supply crates or anything that can provide decent cover whilst give the road a good angle for his LMG.
Hunni shifts her eyes up towards the factory, searching for both any snipers on the roof and any windows to see what she might see.
Brock follows Carpetner in his search for a good cover spot.
Boomstick pats Hunni on the shoulder to indicate she's moving. She heads to the door, tapping on it lightly, "We're gettin' offa yer buildin', 'preciate ya not puttin' holes in us on th'way down, yeah? An' 'preciate ya watchin' our butts maybe…" She keeps her shotgun trained on it, backing away just in case.
«Plot» Argos says, "There's not much to use as cover in the street really, its pretty open. The group splits up, three heading into the factory and the other three starting to move towards the warehouse. The factory has plenty of large windows and there's a large loading dock where they can bring materials in and out easier. In the loading dock, it looks like its been converted into a parking garage, a few bikes in here."
«Plot» Hunni says, "Is there nothing to see in the factory or on it's roof from my angle?"
«Plot» Argos says, "Not much really, not from your angle"
Hunni glancing back to her Spotter the Sniper's busy watching the groups going their two ways from the factory and the warehouse. "We moving?" she questions before keying her radio to report what she sees.
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "Be advised that they've split into two groups and are heading in in seperate directions, looks like the bikes we saw earlier are being held in the factory."
«Plot» Argos says, "Town square basically consists of the factory, entrance to the mines, and the warehouse. Few cranes around as well for heavy lifting. Other then that, its all pretty much open unless you fall back to some of the building and try to hide in a bush or something"
"Aye, watch my ass," Wolf grunts, moving towards the fire escape. "I'm makin' my way down… I'll tweet at ya when I hit dirt…"
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Damn. This is an open area… I'm going to try to move to one of the buildings and set up out of a window."
Carpenter hoofs it forward, pausing at the open town square, grumbling as he looks around. He's trying to find a building with good windows covering the road up to the town square, something one can hunker down in without being completely exposed.
Hunni frowns a little and looks back to Boomstick. "Might be worth holding up till we know exactly where we're moving to, I don't like having noone watching the ground team.
Not much more Brock can do then play follow the leader with Carpenter "I sure you are good with that thing to make this worth it."
«Plot» Argos says, "There are a few buildings that would match that. Just have to hope that they're empty or their occupants are friendly"
Boomstick looks over her shoulder, stopping at the fire escape. She nods to Hunni, "Aye, ain' leavin' 'til they're set up…" She looks over the edge, appraising the view, to see if anyone's come around their building since their ascent and such.

Brock looks point to the couch "There is someone trapped under the couch." Where he is pointing one can see an arm that is still attached to the body under the couch.
Carpenter gives a nod to Brock, setting the LMG to his front, and drawing his FN. He points to him, and nods, before moving over to the couch. He signals for the man to cover him, as he reaches down, and leans underneth, speaking low. "We're friendly, an' we aren't stupid. Yell or attempt t' shoot us, an' this will be painful. Be quiet, an' we can talk this out." He looks up to Brock, nods again, before lifting up the couch quickly, pointing his weapon down.
Brock pauses for a second then shrugs "Sure I got you covered. Though if we live through this and ever work together again next time let me do the lifting and you do covering. Odds are I can take a hit better then you and odds are your machine gun can do a bit more damage then my shotgun."
As the couch is lifted, the man underneath lets out a low groan and blinks up at them. "What… the frag happened…" For those that looked at the chip… its Christian. "Who are you two…"
Carpenter holds up his weapon to the man underneath, looking at him closely, and easily identifies the man as the head of the operation from the photo shown before. Hunni has no idea what's going on in the building she's watching where Carpenter and Brock just burst in to, but the update makes her frown a little and glance to Boomstick.
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "Confirm that, you found the boss man under the couch? Any other survivors? What's the inside look like?"

Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "These people were looking for prisoners."
Hunni frowns at that. Her grip on her rifle tightening a little. "Looking for prisoners…."
Christian rubs his head and winces. Seems he wasn't exactly hiding. "Ugh… last I remember, we were holing up in here trying to plan our next move… then… Aw frag, they burst in on us…" He looks around the room and frowns as he slowly starts to take it in. "I guess we lost the fight…"
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "They were catching people and they missed the big boss because he was under the couch? What's he saying about it?"
Carpenter lets Brock handle Christian as he moves to the window facing outward, toward the road, deploying his bipod to establish a firing position. "Understatment, t' be sure. Background, then; 'ow did this 'appen? Can ya give us a time line? Contract terms indicate we 'ave t' stop this problem t' get paid."
He pauses at the question from Hunni, and turns around, "An' they didn't notice ya scramblin' under th' couch when they burst in?
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Good questions."
Brock nods his head "Yeah sure looks like you lost the fight." With Carpenter now asking questions Brock lets Carpenter handle Christian.
Christian slowly stands and groans, still holding his head. "I don't know what the hell happened… People just started going crazy and attacking one another… Maybe they uncovered something in the mine, some crazy gas or some drek." He frowns over at Carpenter. "I didn't crawl under the couch. I got thrown into it and it came down on top of me… I think." He looks around again at all the casings. "You find anymore of my boys? Where they at?"
While the interviewing goes on and Hunni waits for an update she's keeping her eyes out for more signs of movement both inside and out, overwatch is what she and her spotter are here for….
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Brock, I don't know what's going on here, but be ready to perforate him at a moment's notice."
Boomstick stays on the side of the building with the fire escape, just to be sure nobody's climbing out the windows or some errant patrol is this far on the side of town. "…wastin' daylight…" she murmurs.
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Longbow, Broadsword, I've a firing position set up covering the road. Go mobile, and head toward the the building…Gridsquare AZ35535334 on the map."
Carpenter looks back to Christian. "I really don't like 'avin' little information, Mr. Christian. So sit tight 'ere while we plan our next move. An' that depend's who your boys are; we 'aven't seen anyone comin' in."
Commlink-Carpenter> Carpenter says, "Until we're sure of this man's motives, do not reveal the precense or location of civilians."

Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "I would suggest to check our details on this guy and keep an eye on him, if people are freaking out and killing each other there's no real proof he's not a badguy left behind…"
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Aright. Longbow, c'mere 'n watch my trip down, lest we get 'nother surprise…"
Hunni nods and gestures for her spotter to climb down and keeps her weapon at the ready.
Carpenter keeps his eyes forward on the road as Christian speaks. "I don't know when your bloody last stand was made. They sent some people before us, scout parties, that didn't return. How good are ya with a gun, sir?"
Now that Carpenter seems done with Christian Brock will see to Christian and says to him "Christian I have no idea how many hours or days might have past sense you been out. I need what ever facts that you can give me. How did this all start, what is controlling those clouds, what are the raiders. You give us facts and this will help us know what to do."
Christian shrugs slightly at that and starts to dig through his pockets before finding some cigarettes. A bit crushed, but beggers can't be choosers as he lights one up and takes a deep drag. "I'm decent with a pistol, can generally hit what I'm aiming at anyway… Not to good with to much else." He glances over Brock's shotgun and Carpenter's LMG. "Especially not with guns that size…" He looks back up at the troll and frowns a bit. "The clouds? Can't tell you that, don't know what theh ell is going on myself. The town just went crazy on us suddenly and we've… well, I've been trying to make sense of it ever since. Since you lot are here, I assume that means that the drek has really hit the fan. As for the raiders… they used to be our miners and security forces."
Being that her partner's got her back, Wolf starts her descent on the fire escape. She's got her shotgun slung so she can do it quickly and carefully, hoping that the inhabitants of the building were true to their non-word. The spunky redhead got lucky the first time, even with getting shot. Here's hoping she stays lucky and doesn't get shot at all!

«Plot» Argos says, " Boomstick, they aren't shooting at you just yet thankfully, so you get to the ground safe and sound"
Christian blinks as he catches the cigarettes and nods his thanks. "Heaviest weapon? As far as I know, just some SMGs and shotguns. No one thought we'd really need anything more then that really… Hell, wish they had sprung some money for better security though…"
Brock says to Christian "You still have some towns people hiding in their homes, with you being their leader perhaps you can rally them and have them work with us."
Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "Damn it, Brock; are you /sure/ he's telling the goddamn truth?"
Boomstick hits the ground at the bottom of the fire escape, unslinging her shotty as she looks around. Then she waves Hunni down, backing up so she's got a good vantage of the windows with her SPAS-22. "Aright… let's get this train wreck a-rollin'…"
Carpenter keeps his face away from Christian to hide the grimce of revealing information, before responding. "Well, bad for them good for us. We're better armed than they are, an' from your account, better guns would a' just meant more opposition. Do ya know what they might be occupyin'?
Commlink-Brock> Brock says, "Are we sure any one has told us the truth sense we got here? The other people that helped us did not seem to be lying and I don't think he is lying."
Carpenter is set up at a front window, covering the street with his LMG, and waiting for Hunni and Boomstick to /run/ and reach them.
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Usually smart folks don' piss on ya when they know yer there ta help 'em… looks like I didn' get blasted on th'way down, so there's still rational minds 'ere… …aright Longbow I got ya covered, c'mon on down. We gotta run this like our butts're on fire…"
It's time for Hunni to climb down and she slings her rifle, but the little radio arguement makes her frown and she speaks before she begins her downwards climb.
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "What's going on you two? Keep us updated before any grand and meaningful decisions can be made."
Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "Can't be helped. Christian knows there are survivors. That could prove a problem if he's working with the enemy."
Commlink-Brock> Brock says, "Or he is the one person that could rally the people here."
Christian sighs and shrugs lightly. "I think they're mostly in the mines… then again, they could have spread out to just about everywhere by now, but the mines should diffenatly be their little headquarters I think…"
Carpenter nods to Christian. "Do ya 'ave a number of that might be down there, ball park? Or 'ow many weapons they might 'ave? Please tell me ya took a census."
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Ya got eyes on, Fusilier? We're on dirt, wanna be sure we're runnin' this gauntlet wit' your big sexy beast leerin' at us…"
Reaching the ground beside Boomstick Hunni unslings her sniper rifle again and looks around on the off chance something snuck up on them. Nodding to the woman beside her, she frowns again at the radio.
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "I don't know if 'rallying' an army of terrified civvies against these guys and arming them is a good idea, especially since we can't tell the good from the bad."
Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "You heard the first people we saw; they could barely hit a target."
When Hunni lands, Wolf heads for the corner of the building facing the road, peeking out to try and get a visual on Carpenter's building, and hoping he can see her, too. She's got her shotgun up on her shoulder, stock unfolded. It's not like she's in a movie, she knows how to use that thing correctly.

You paged Hunni with 'Something seems off about Christian, but you're not sure /what/.'
As she steps in to the room behind Boomstick the sniper's still watching the road. As she turns around to look at the team and Christian she seems to frown and an odd shiver rolls up her spine. Instead of commenting she seems to be looking rather intently at the rescued man while she moves out of the doorframe.
«Auto-Judge[]» Hunni (#12074) rolls Intelligence for "I've got a baaad feeling about this…":

Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "This is Christian?"
Carpenter is watching the two girls march up the roadway, so isn't suprised when they move up to the room with a lot of damage in it. "Mind th' bodies." He mutters, still watching the road. "Broadsword, Longbow, This is Mr. Christian, 'ead a' this facility. 'e's reported that th' miners should have made a base a' operations in the mine; I've seen 'em move int' th' Wharehouse an' Factory." He looks over to Boomstick, "Dear, your eyes are better than mine; can ya supplement me, 'ere?"
Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "Affrimative."
Brock winks to the ladies "Took you two long enough." There is no harshness in his voice so it should not be too hard to tell he is just joking with them.
Christian is still enjoying his smoke, though occassionally looks up to look over the group of runners. Especially eyeing their weapons before looking out into through the window. "Factory and warehouse? Suppose that's not to surprising they'd move into there as well… What's going on thought, they seem far to organized to just be crazy…"
"Whatever's got 'em riled's got 'em dancin' real pretty, too…" Wolf snorts, leaning against the wall facing the door, shotgun at the ready. There's no time to push the couch up against the door, night's falling. "We gonna wait 'ere 'til mornin' or move our asses post-haste?"
Hunni seems to be keeping her distance from Christan, not greeting him and instead keeping a wall to her back and her weapon in her hand. "Too organized to be crazy?" she repeats with a raised eyebrow. "They're eating people. If they were organized then why would they have left the guy in charge behind after snatching everyone else?"
Carpenter pauses, for a moment, before nodding. "Organzied doesn't mean rational, ya know. Not nessicarily. But she's right. We're burnin' daylight. Options. We want t' strike th' factory, Wharehouse, or mine?"
Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "Respond here, if you can subvocalize or transduce. Still a chance the man could be captured and reveal our plans."
Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "If ya can't, circular options. Wharehouse is Factory, Factory is Mine, Mine is Wharehouse."
Hunni frowns and looks between the others. "Where ever we go towards, what are we going to do about boss man here?"
Brock shrugs to Carpenter "My vote does not seem to count for much so what ever you decide I am good with."
Carpenter gives Brock a pointed look, before turning to Hunni. "I would suggest that he return t' th' place he was. Underneath that bloody couch. Or locked in a closet that's already been checked. For 'is own good, mind you, an' ours." He looks to Christian. "There a safe place for ya t' 'ole up 'round 'ere?"
Christian blinks a bit as they mention what to do with him. "Hell, I'm fine with staying here really. To damned dangerous out there for my blood, and I'm not getting paid nearly enough to try and handle this sort of thing…"
"I 'unno, if 'e ain' on th'level we could truss 'im up but…" Wolf shrugs, keeping her eyes on the door. "Figger we can run a sweep, but we can't afford stickin' 'round too long, or leavin' one of us ta keep an eye on 'im…"
A thought does however occur to Hunni and she decides to ask Christan something, even if the man makes her skin crawl for some unknown reason, her discomfort not exactly invisible. "Your security team? What kind of weapons did they have? Where did they keep their lockup?"
Christian shrugs slightly at that. "Nothing more then SMGs really… think they had a section in the warehouse to keep… oh… Well, explains how those guys are so well armed I guess…"
Carpenter pauses, and swings his head around to the man. "Now, wait a' minute, mate. Ya said somethin' 'bout SMGs before. What was stored in th' Warehouse? 'cause that's bloody /pertinent/ information."
Brock does not have much to add so he just looks out a window.
Christian blinks and shrugs slightly. "I didn't think of it, sorry… most of what's in the warehouse is what's refined from the mines, that's mostly what's in there."
Wolf keeps her focus on the door, "..wot was bein' refined anyway?" the redhead asks softly, idly reaching up to brush her bangs aside before looking back between Brock and Hunni. Her only acknowledge to Carpenter's orders for name-adjustment is a nod to him.
Looking to Brock at the window the Sniper gives a questioning mime as to if she sees anything before shrugging her shoulders. "We're going to need to move soon. I dunno about you but I don't want to be storming the mines at night.
Brock lets out a beath then says to the Sniper "You and me both but I am not the one calling the shots around here. I am just a troll with a big gun, nothing more nothing less."
Carpenter nods to Hunni. "I can understand your concern, but I'm afraid we need t' strike at th' source. Hit th' mine first an' then check th' other areas." He looks to Christian. "Get under cover, an' don't make a sound. We won't be able t' rescue ya if they get ya." He says, before moving back to his gun. A quick scan down the road, before he grabs it, folding the bipod down. "Let's move.
Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "Warehouse, first. We can eliminate a team of them, and check what they're trying to secure."
Brock goes over to Christian and says to him, "Listen man, if it means any thing you are going to be much safer then we are. That guy, he has this crazy look in his eyes and the only thing that is worst then that look in his eyes, are his jokes. I would say wish you luck but clearly I am going to need it more so wish my luck instead." Brock now starts to walk off.
«Plot» Argos says, "Ok, so Christian will remain in the trashed house and everyone is heading off towards the Warehouse? Also, approximately one hour before sun goes down"
Hunni nods, at least glad that Christian doesn't know where they're going. "Best thing you can do is hide on the closet and wait for the lovely people with guns to kill the badguys…" she says to the man they're leaving behind.
Wolf nods to Carpenter, "'opefully cut th'ead off th'snake…" she mumbles. "Right, we rollin'?" she reaches for the doorknob, ready to step out and take point. She's sneeky anyway.

She's got the knob, and the shotty, "Let th'scout take a peek, regardless, aye?" Wolf looks over her shoulder as everyone stacks up. "Wait a tic fer me ta tappity-tap an' we'll get this train wreck onwards.." she mumbles, pulling the door open, catching it with her foot before slipping out, expecting it to be shut behind her at the least, peering around in the fading daylight, mumbling something about whskey.

You paged Boomstick with 'You can see a few bodies walking around inside both the factory and the warehouse. Plenty of windows and big doors for you to see them… and vice versa. None of them seem to notice you yet'.
Moving behind her spotter with her rifle at the ready the sniper is keeping low to both make her a smaller target and be sure that if those behind her open fire she's not going to get caught. At least with her silencer her rifle doesn't run the risk of deafening her team if she has to open up.

Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "This is gonna get bad, potentially, but I think we can work on it. I'll position myself at a door, with Brock. We bust in, and blast them as they advance. You take another entrance, and hit them from another angle."
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick grumbles, "Thassif they don' see us on th'way there… long way t'run an' there's still light out.."
Hunni glances back over her shoulder, checking to see how Christian is reacting to the developing problem.
Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "We'll have to chance it. We get seen before that, withdraw toward cover and kill as many as you can."
Christian is withdrawing into a sideroom, closing the door behind him. Seems that's where he plans on hiding to keep out of the potential crossfire.
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "…ya want me ta get some cover 'n put a rocket through a window? We gonna be loud, might as well go balls out, aye? Y'got windows in there, too…"
Wolf mumbles, looking around for any actual forward cover from the house she can slink to.
Commlink-Longbow> Hunni says, "Boss man is hiding himself in the side room, maybe we should push a couch in front of it huh…"
Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "If we push a couch there, will they be able to pull the couch back?"

Commlink-Brock> Brock says, "So lets take care of the gunmen and they can't get to good old Chris, poor guy has been through enough."
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick hisses into her earpiece, trying to keep her voice low, "Would y'all shush up? Fusilier, fire or not? All this arguin's gonna make this a bigger shitstorm than it oughta." Then she curses in Gaelic. Something colorful about fornication and motherless goats.

Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "Move to cover, teams of two. Shottguners support ranged. When Longbow's out of ammunition, she'll regroup with us."

Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "So ya don' want me blowin' out a window with a rocket then? Not even a lil' boom?"
Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "Conserve those things. We're going to take a cave out, and the close quaters will do wonders."
Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick grunts, mumbling something in Gaelic again, "..roger that… I ain' got th'best range on targets in cover wit' m'shotty but I'll do m'best…"

Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "Given that, I beleive we should set up a firing position covering the door; set a distraction off to lure them out, and then have one of you fancy snipers scale the building and enter on the second floor."
Commlink-Fusilier> Carpenter says, "And got you. Brock, on me. Longbow, meet up with your spotter, if you please."
Carpenter nods a bit, wincing after a long bout of transmitting words via thinking, before taking a breath. "All right. I'll take point, this time." He nods over to Brock as her moves to the door, waits for a signal for the man to be ready, before rushing for the entrance to the warehouse, looking for crates or vehicles to position behind.
Brock sighs and shakes his head, can't there by any plans where he is not teamed with Carpenter. He takes in a deep breath and gives Carpenter the thumbs up sign letting him know he is ready.
Hunni pats Brock on the shoulder, clearly able to read that shake of his head…or perhaps she's just letting him know she's ready too. "Play nice boys," she says lightly before moving out as well, trying for cover but making her way to boomstick.

Commlink-Broadsword> Boomstick says, "Longbow, got us covered? Good! We're rollin'!"
Carpenter grumbled, as the grenade popped into the room and exploded, not doing all he hoped. He looks at the door, and shakes his head, firming the hanging sling of his LMG, and gripping the M23. "No time t' deploy. Goddamn it." He mutters, before running flat out from cover to the door, augmentation and a good body carrying him step in step with Boomstick as they rush.

Her scope lines up with the center of his chest, her finger squeezes. The target's chest opens up, his spine blasted out his back, heart and half a lung following it in liquid form.

So many things seem to happen at once. There's that bright flash of light, which is the signal for the runners to… well, run. One of the men in the window on the second floor was about to open fire, but he stopped trying on account of being shot through his spine. The other on the second floor opened fire on Boomstick, but his gel rounds didn't seem to do anything against her armor. One of the blinded men stumbled to a window, opened it, and throw out a grenade, which thankfully seemed to have done /something/. The other two men, also blind, opened up on the two runners in front, but they might as well have been throwing spitballs.

She brings up her shotgun, still in her dead run, dumping a slug in the direction of one of the shooters by the door before slamming her back against the wall near it, taking cover.
Carpenter continues to move forward himself, thought the detonating grenade throws him a misstep, causing him to slow down and stumble as he moves to the doors. He can't do much afterward, shaking his head through his balaclava to try and clear it. "Goddamn it, how th' 'ell did they get /grenades/." He mutters silently."

Luckily for Brock he is not close to Carpenter and Boomstick when they are hit directly with the gernade, he is easily able to shrug off the secondary impact that is sent his way from the gernade. Carpenter is breathing hard as he's running up to the door, winded by the close blast of the concussion grenade, still trying to shake off the blow and failing rather miserably. "Goddamn grenades." He mutters, running toward the Door. He pulls his weapon up to his shoulder and aims as best he can, shooting at a single target in a window. If he wasn't running as fast as he could, he might have tried aiming for center mass. As it stands, he flicked the selector to Full Auto and held down the trigger, spraying indescriminatly in an attempt to hit /something/, or at least cause the man to get /down/. The warehouse has transformed into a warzone. People are falling left and right, first the two up top, and then one at the bottom just before he could shoot at Boomstick. The man behind the crates pops back up to fire twice at Boomstick with his pistol, but the gelrounds just flatten against her armor uselessly. The last remaining man in the building turns towards Boomsticks retreating form… and drops down as the window and wall explode with a flurry of bullets, hiding him from outside view now. Thankfully the wall and his armor keeps him from getting damaged, but his shots go wild, totally missing Boomstick.

A moment to aim down the sight, before unloading another shell. This time it slams into him, the frangible round normally used for preventing collateral damage causing more, shattering the man's sternum and sending bone fragments into vital organs as he falls back gurgling.
At long last Brock finaly makes it to the building. Once inside he goes for cover till he can move and get closer to his foes. "Can't let the others have all the fun, though if I can do it with out being hit by a gernade, that would be a good thing."

She is still wearing a murderous grin as she sees the man on his belly, and brings her weapon up. Oh he tries to roll out of the way, but she drops a shell into him, slug cutting through the connection to his neck and shoulder and going down from there. She sweeps, quickly.

Three men on bikes start driving up towards the warehouse, and moving rather fast. There's only one person they can see, and that's the one they were all told to take out anyway, as she had the scary gun! All three of them drive towards Hunni, still 30 to 40 meters away as they fire, lighting up the ground around Hunni, as well as Hunni herself!
«Plot» Argos says, "Init pass order is Boomstick, Brock, Hunni, and Carpenter"
The rounds hit Hunni hard and she staggers back makes it in, landing hard against a stack of crates on the other side. Whincing and shaking her head she stands up and looks to the rest of her team, glaring a little. "Ow."
Carpenter has already scrambled into the building before, quickly looking for a place to deploy his LMG as Hunni crawls in. "BLoody fraggin' luck." He says, stepping forward to what looks to be a sturdy firing position. "My back pouch. There's a stim patch in there; might get ya on your feet."

"SHOOT M'GIRLFRIEND WILL YA?!" Wolf doesn't see the glare that said girlfriend is giving her, but she was already on her way to the window that had been filled full of Carpenter's (who is aptly named?) holes. She levels the shotgun at her shoulder, and empties two shells in rapid succession, hardly missing a beat from the recoil as the fire in her eyes seems to burn a bloody hole in one man and severely injure another. Oh, right. The gorram slugs, too.

Turning to face the offending buggers that shot her the asian woman's muttering curses in japanese, letting the barret fall on it's sling she lifts her trusty remmington and levels it, the supressed shot slamming into the man's chest and dropping him. "Payback's a bitch…" she grunts.
Carpenter quickly moves forward to a box as gunshots spring from his compatriots around him, snapping the bipod down, and takking up a sight… as the motorcycles crash and the one man left on the ground in front of them gets his heart pulvurized by a single shot. He pauses, looking down the sights, before grunting, and moving to collapse aganist the box as the street goes quiet. "Please make sure ya all emphasis my sterlin' leadership in th' AAR, because if we do this on kills I'm quite certain I go 'ungry this week. Bloody good job, otherwise."

Wolf grumbles, checking her ammo count in the corner of her eye, yay augs! "…buncha fraggin' cowards…" she growls, once more shouldering her weapon. "They're fleein'!" she calls out to the rest, and takes aim, sight filling with targetting data. Range. Speed. Boom! She fires. Swing and a miss, a curse escaping her lips as the driver veers out of the way.
Hunni had climbed up and got down low, the perfect position for one expecting an attack…only they're not being attacked. Whincing as she hears Wolf's cry the asian woman squares her sight on the one who'd swerved the shotgun slug and fires twice, two neat holes blasting through the center of that guys back. One less to wait for them at the mines.

Carpenter grumbles as the other bikes race away, attempting to flee the carnage of emplaced targets who had the weapons to back up their skills. "Th' last thing they need is a survivin' mobile element." He grumbles to himself, bringing the LMG up and taking a lead on the fast moving target as it races away, squeezing the trigger twice. The second burst flies over his head, if only because the first turns him into a man without a lower intestine on a bike. He look up from the target, and grunts. "I 'ope that's th' bulk in th' town, folks."
