GM: Posh
Players: Muse, Blackheart, Krieg, Miyo, Posh
Synopsis: Posh, Blackheart, Krieg, Miyo, and Muse are hired by Major Shelley, based on some requests Posh had given her regarding opportunities, to help clear out a group of hardened mercs acting on behalf of the Imperial-aligned militias in CalFree. They’d been oppressing the local rednecks in this war with no good guys, and the local headman (mayor) had scraped together what he could in order to ask Shelley to put together an op to clear the mercs out of their town, so they could come back out of hiding. The players were tasked to eliminate the mercs but to send a virus back via their link, to make it seem like the mercenaries betrayed their employers to prevent reprisals against the village. Posh and crew didn’t make it out unscathed; but they managed to take control of the school’s old mass shooter suppression system in order to separate the enemies, overcome their tactical and communications advantages. Muse ICly owes Posh some money, so Posh is going to yoink her share on this one, in exchange for clearing off the remainder. The rest of you will be getting some combination of the gear in general, but it's like high spec comms gear and stuff. There is going to be some real risk to this one; the kind of enemy that uses this stuff is what you'd expect. There's also going to be some payout. Anyway. Anyone interested in Shelley's Heroes Part 2?"

Posh has been rather pleased as punch with the Aztechnology Luna van that Scurry helped to steal, and is right now boring him with a description of the features that the new dead smuggler Otto, who Scurry had lightning bolted into the great road rally in the sky, had installed, and how they -must- be altered to suit her purposes.
"I've also asked one of the new founders of a mercenary option in town, that Major Shelley with Reliant, I think it's called this week," she says. "She's been handling some deals down in the sort of roiling civil war in CalFree, you know, the redneck xenophobes against the Japanese imperialists and their mercenaries," she says. "It's a nasty situation, but, well, that's the kind of situation where there's some money to be made. Anyway, I've been hoping to get my hand on some some gear, so if there seem to be opportunities, to, well, hit some particularly well equipped baddies for a distressingly low payout, which seems to be what merc work is about, well, I'm hoping to arrange some opportunities for spoils," she says. "It seems like there might be something in it," she says.
She draves a message to send separately to Blackheart, Miyo, and Muse.
Hi there, Muse! Might have a gig so that we can clear out slate, mind helping me out? And I'd greatly appreciate the help - there's a chance for a high risk job with a low payout, but with the opportunity steal some really useful things for us," she writes. "I can drop by in the new wheels and pick each of you up, and we can confer with the Major remotely."
Miyo gets her message and rapidly makes ready to go out and help Posh with her mission. She enjoyed doing things for and with Posh, and this was no exception, even if it was going to be dangerous. She arrives as early as she can without being too early and goes to find Posh so she can say hello.
Muse gets her messages and responds in kind with, 'As long as this time I'm not headed into a active fire zone.'. Active duty isn't always her.. 'thing'. Too much risk of being shot at, and she's not exactly bulletproof. Of course, she'll do whatever's needed if there's pay in it either way. When the van comes around, she climbs in.
Hi risk-Low Pay?! Sign me up! Blackheart writes back through text, though after a moment or two, she hmms, that sarcasm may not have translated well through text, what has she gotten herself into?! Oh well, a commitment is a commitment. She packs a bag of guns and ammo, and gets the rest of her kit together to meet up with Posh at the meeting.

The sight of a buzzed, blonde woman, a little hard-bitten, with two scars on her eyebrow and a nice, fat cigar appears on the viewscreen of the van as Posh links the cell connection to her pocsec. There's room enough for everyone to see. "All right, I see the lot 'o you are in transport already. For starters, here's the address where the Thunderbird to take you is held. I have to admit, this job has been makin' me tear my hair out. The client's recently…embarrassed and can only cough up twelve grand in order to make this happen." She chuckles a little, dryly. "Now, Posh here has asked if she can do me any favors on small jobs, particularly if I get intel that there might be some good opposition for you to…forage on," she says.
"And it seems like we've got a doozie. The Red Blades, a small four operative recon team," she says, "recently undercut us on a job. And they've taken a mission to act against our client," she says. "For the past six hours, their MPUV has been outside this schoolyard. These mercs are working on behalf of the occupation forces, and they're far nastier than the usual. They just killed everyone in the immediate vicinity, as you can see," she says, showing a couple bodies of drifters who'd been using the abandoned school. The local mayor is the one who's hired us," she says. "Now ordinarily I'm not much of a fan of helping out the redneck xenophobes, but these are just the civvies. In any case," she says. "What they want to do is get revenge, but there's a problem. They don't want another unit to come and investigate what's happened. So what you've got to do is kill them and take over their microwave link," she says.
"You might also be able to take over the school system's remotely as well, from almost anywhere in the town likely, it's hooked up to the local RTG," she says. "That'd probably be simple as anything." Shelley nods. "Anyway. The objective is to kill the mercenaries, and then to send a false 'all clear' from this village via the microwave link. You'll likely not have direct access to their passwords, and that's why you'll probably have to deck the host at the other end of the link in order to get around their message encryption," Shelley says.
"Anyway, the thunderbird awaits. They're well equipped, Posh, you all might be able to find some fun things. Feel free to pick up some standard Reliant Forces armor at site if you need to. Nothing fancy, just camo suits with our pattern, but we don't want the locals taking potshots at you," she says.

"Jesus," Blackheart grimaces at the site of all the dead bodies in the town. "That's way worse than the little warrens turf wars," she observes. "What kind of gear do these guys usually carry?" she wonders, glancing to the pocsec image of the mercenary captain.
Miyo listens in on the briefing and ponders it over for a minute. "Soo…" She looks at the other people assembled for the little mission. "I'm not sure how useful I'll be unless I can get close to the mercs. Maybe that will be possible, I don't know." She frowns a bit and looks at Posh. "Otherwise, I might be best for… you know… keeping someone safe."
Muse settles in her seat as they're taken to the Tbird. Oh look, it's Shelley again. Muse looks up to the viewscreen and bites the corner of her mouth. In to another hotzone, but there will be armor on loan this time! That's a nice perk. Hacking a microwave slave. The host probably has all the software needed to make this work, "I just need to control the slave transmitter. Another control operation." For a moment, she goes silent, apparently mulling over how this will work out. "What's on the school's grid? Why would we want to tap into that?" She seems rather unphased by the violence.
"Well, the school was made during the days when mass shootings reached a level where to avoid gun control, politicians started to demand an autogun in every classroom. Some redneck school districts actually implemented such things. The system's been deactivated, but if it's active, there's probably no way for it to IFF properly.
Still, that certainly might help. I suppose you could strobe the lights. Run the sprinklers. Close and lock doors. Open the teacher's lounge. We don't know what repair the facility is in, or how well any of the systems were maintained. There's never been an incident of autoguns fired there, but we do have a record of anti-mass-shooter installations approximately twenty years ago."
Posh nods to Blackheart. "Indeed, it is. That's the real difference between the bad guys in a street job and the bad guys in a war zone. In a war zone, the law never will come," she says, a little solemnly. She nods to Miyo. "That's mainly why you're here," she says. "But don't think you can only sustain an armor spell. What if you were able to lift something up, or push over something right at the right time, to help someone sneak, with your levitating?" she asks. "What we need to do is find a way to carefully stack the deck against these guys. They may not outnumber us, but they are used to working together and if anyone, or even any two of us is fighting them all alone, we -will- die, I wager." Shelley seems to nod.
"Indeed. They're heavily equipped. Two of them with Alphas, including with minigrenade launchers. Security grade armor. Likely secondary weapons and other unconventional means of using force. They also have a vehicle available, which likely serves as their tactical control center." Posh widens her eyes as she sees a MPUV heavily equipped with radio kit, and she nods thoughtfully, glancing over at Blackheart. It's got a pintle mount. A few more images of the Red Blades, fully equipped, are shown, on other jobs - they seem really milspec, although maybe not /quite/ that heavily equipped. Deadly mercs, then.
The van proceeds to the T-bird. "It seems, above all else, that our big advantage here is going to be magic, right?" she asks. "We can do things with their minds, surprise them, come at them from ways they're not going to be expecting."
Shelley interrupts. "In any case," she says. "There's ample opportunities to find jackpoints in the town - most of the people have fled to cabins or shelters nearby owned by relatives. Kill the mercenaries, upload the virus get your…" She chuckles. "Twelve thousand. If you capture that MPUV intact, well, you can use it to drive out to where the Tbird can pick you up. We'll let you keep anything you find in it or want off the targets, but we could have future use for the vehicle."
As Scurry, sadly, suddenly makes his excuses, Posh finds herself in dire straits. She rings up Krieg, sending her a message. «Krieg, I've got another job, this one's high risk and low reward. But there's a chance to maybe steal some interesting comms gear, and we'll get to take out some mercs who've been killing civilians in a redneck town in Calfree.» Posh transmits a datafile with the outline of the job: kill the Red Blades, a team of four mercenaries who have 'secured' a town by shooting all the drifters around a school, since services have been down for the last few years. The mayor of the residents has scraped together twelve grand to hire a team to remove these particularly nasty servants of the imperialists. Mission support will be through new mercenary outfit run by ex-UCAS Major Shelley.
Blackheart watches the breif with keen interest. "If Muse could jack into those auto cannons, it could really be a game changer. Though if they've never been used, they might just be for show, or be all gummed up with dust they'll blow up when turned on." She hmms, and looks over the pictures of the mercenary group. "Though, with only four of them.. I think this is doable.. With some binoculars, I might be able to weaken them from quite a distance, too." She glances to Muse, "What do you think, you take over the school's anti-shooter security system, then I blast them with magic from a distance so they run inside for cover and you finishe them off?"
"I don't think it's going to be that easy, I'm afraid," she says. "They've pulled in their MPUV into the gym through the big loading doors, and have hooked it up so that they can use the school's antennae to extend the range of their comms," she says. "These days, patrolling is more about maintaining a powerful sensor suite and keeping yourself indoors, so that mages, or snipers, or mages with sniper rifles, can't do exactly that to you," she says. "I think Miyo will be ideal, frankly, making sure you can take a hit or two from those Alphas," she says. "A kill team of you, me, and Krieg's ally Senshi would likely be devastating, particularly if we were able to limit this to a pair of three-on-two engagements. That'd be dangerous, but more doable. The real secret is for Muse to find a way to keep two separate in the school, using its systems, from the other two," she says. "Then that should work, I think." She looks around. "Anyone got any objections to that?"
Muse looks between the constituent speakers. She bounces her foot a little impatiently, as if by nervous tick. "If the doors are hydraulic, I can control which ones are open and their locks. It sounds like it's all remote. I can plug in anywhere, even the pentabucks down the street. Worst case scenario, I can program an autonomous commandset or let my Agent play while I catch up to a physical role."
Krieg sends a message back. «There seems to be a trend of high risk low reward in our line of work. Where would you like me to meet you?»
Posh gives a nod to Muse, sending a message to Krieg «Prepare Senshi and await pickup. We will be departing via Thunderbird soon. Miyo will be providing magical support and so can also provide close protection at site for you and the decking asset» "In any case, it sounds like we have a general idea of how we plan to crack this nut," she says, as the vehicle heads towards the thunderbird.
She nods to Blackheart, as she glances over to the Thunderbird. «All right, Krieg. Sara will be buy to pick you up shortly, and convey you to join us," she says. Posh starts to dress up in her own camo suit, figuring that it might be good to not stand out particularly, plus, it will make her a little harder to spot directly. "We have to realize that we're not likely to be able to get the drop on them at all. They'll be integrated with a sensor system running off the vehicle's generator, or the school's power," she says. "And I don't have radar absorbent skin, yet," she says. "So they'll be aware that we're coming, likely. Separating them will likely take timing and cleverness." She grins to Muse, as she suits up as well, and Miyo, watching the fox stuff her tail into the camo jumpsuit. She puts on her helmet as well. «All right. Comms check. Then let's get onto the thunderbird.»
Anotehr reply, this time across an Encrypted link. «Krieg»<With the possability of a threat I have not had the chance to assess. EXE and any available smoke, chaff, thermal dispersment systems would be advisable. Noise maker units or remotely activated explosives may also prove usefull as a distraction.>

"You know, if you're able to get all the way from here to that RTG," Posh says to Muse, “we could probably just connect their microwave link to the school's trix access," she says, thoughtfully. "Then you'd just be a hop step and a jump away from uploading the virus," she says. "So we just need a simple datatap and a bit of line, right?" she asks. She then comms, replying to Krieg, «I see. I'll inform Sara to include legacy directional mines, EXEX for submachineguns and light machineguns, and a selection of minigrenades: flash, smoke, thermal smoke, and so on»
«Sara can make a stop by my armory and meet you for me. If you would like EXEX ammo or anything similar for combatting BattleTac enabled cybered opposition, security grade, mercenary reputation, we can have her make a delivery to us right before we depart»
Posh gives a grin at Blackheart and Miyo. "Well," she says. "This one certainly seems…a little on the exhilarating side, you could say," she says, awaiting Krieg's response. «Anything that should not be too rare to find should be doable, though I'm not quite sure about the thermal smoke. Nothing dual charge. The EXEX is great, the smoke is great." Posh nods to Blackheart. "Maybe not, but you could turn me invisible, and Senshi could wear my camouflage cloak," she says, thoughtfully.

Do we know why they have taken up residence in this area and if it has a agenda that preceeds soemthing else.>
Blackheart hooks on her belts and pouches to complete her getup, holstering her ingrams and making sure her smoke grenades are where they need to be. «Comes check hear you loud and clear,» she answers as she gets onto the thunderbird for the ride across the mountains.
Muse dresses to the nines in the provided body armor and just moves her messengerbag over. She pulls out a cerberus pistol, checks that she actually /has ammo/, and stows it all away. She also has a couple little boxes of something else.

Commlink-Jett> Blackheart sends, « I wonder if they found something in the school basement? Like a book bound with human skin or something? »
Commlink-Krieg> Krieg sends, « Establishing a listening post is a purposefull action, not an isolated event. It is likely they will be monitored, have check in procedures, established protocols for contact. Most listening posts are by their nature highly mobile and set-up to evacuate and evade an attack if engaged. If they are dug in more perminently, then there is another purpose as well and possibly more defenses than visually presented. »
Krieg awaits her pick-up.
Sara arrives in her van to pick up Krieg and convey her and Senshi to the hangar where the Thunderbird and the rest of the team awaits.
Posh replies over comm «The activity is best summarized as thus: In this town, which has often had rebel activity, these mercenaries have recently moved in. They killed any drifters or residents who were in the school, where no classes have been held a couple years. They then brought their vehicle inside and have remained inside since. Signal scanners reveal that they are conducting sensor sweeps and have fired upon any local civilians who approach. It seems based on that information that they are here to suppress rebel activity in the area. They only arrived 6 hours ago and are perhaps planning to patrol with their vehicle.
Posh considers. "If you're being armored by Miyo's magic, how comfortable would you feel facing two of these guys with assault rifles as a distraction?" she asks, to Blackheart. "Perhaps you could…sort of pop up somewhere, flying, take some shots and return fire, and then drop out of sight?" she asks. "Meanwhile that could allow Senshi and I to cross to a position that might be otherwise guarded. I'm thinking of operational tools that we can think of ahead of time," she says.
"Before we get too crazy, I'd like to scope out the trix. If I can lock their vehicle inside, the better it'll be for us." Muse says, tilting her head a little.
Posh nods to Muse. "I see," she says. "Well, indeed. They pulled open the large double doors into the gym, and then drove their vehicle inside," she says. "If you could gain control of those, we could likely ensure none are outside," she says. "And I doubt they'd be able to move the vehicle much of anywhere. We could then engage them outside of their vehicle, or else they would be ceding us the opportunity to pin them in a room entirely, at which point we could pursue a fire, or something."
Krieg follows along as Senshi carries the gear bags and makes his way to the awaiting team. When they do enter the shared area she nods to Posh and looks to the others. Just staying safely somewhta behind Senshi as they find a spot to sit and prepare their gear together.
Blackheart hmms, "I'm not great with rifles," she admits, "But I could probably tie two of them up with my submachineguns just as well. I think if they're armoured up, my best bet will be zapping them with mana attacks. I'll have to give you my shades if you're going to be creeping invisibly while I go off on a diversion."
Posh shakes her head. "Nah, I don't want to take your shades," she says, thoughtfully. "I don't quite understand how the magic works," she says. "But it makes sense to me if the three of us, you me and Senshi, are to be engaging closely together, then you should be the armored one, magically," she says. "All right. No splitting up. Let's keep it simple, and see if we can rely on Muse, and perhaps some lateral thinking by Miyo, to split them up."
She gives a smile to Krieg and Senshi, and then grins. "Hey there, Krieg," she says, reaching into her purse and taking out a couple packets of gummi bears. "Thought you might like one," she says. "We're only getting three grand each in payout, so I might as well add gummi bears."
"And before you ask, yes, I got you a package too, Blackheart," says Posh with a grin, reaching into her purse for it. "This one's gummi sharks."
Senshi outstretches a hand to receive the offered Gummies for Krieg.
Commlink-Krieg> Krieg sends, « If they are equiped with typical anti-air defenses with the sensor loadout described it may be ill-advisable to attempt to approuch from the air. Due to the exposed nature of airborn activities sensor based weapons engagement is extreamly accurate and capable vs these types of targets. »
Krieg of course seems to make no sound or motion while talking on comms. She just awaits the gummies from Senshi.
Posh lays the package of gummi bears solemnly in the packet's hand for Senshi, provides just an enigmatic wink for Blackheart, and opens up her own packet.
With everyone arrived and settled, the Thunderbird blasts its way up and conveys everyone, with the morale booster of gummis, on the few hours journey out to the town that's been terrorized by the Red Blades. The group is deposited in their camo gear, which is based on an urban pattern. Not great for the forest but it will be good once they get in. The Thunderbird takes advantage of a low canyon to approach the sight, and is able to stay behind a ridgeline until there is a clearing about 2km southwest of the town's edge. The ridgeline continues up one side to town, creating an obvious shadow in the listening post's sensor abilities. Thick, dense forest does make sensor activities in the area difficult, but the area around the town clears out significantly for about 50 meters before the outermost buildings are approached, providing plenty of cover in and around the houses at least from fire. The school is closer to the southwest side of town, about 150 meters in. This gives a rather wide field of fire for approach, but of course they'd be exposed to Blackheart's spells. Blackheart hoofs it as quiet as possible through the trees, keeping her eyes peeled for anyone looking to give them a bad day. She nods her head to posh, "I can give you cover to the gas station," she says, "ONce you're inside, I'll drop the spell," she says before casting it on the decker extraordinaire, making her fade into nothingness.
Muse makes the jump off the t-bird. A short half-meter fall. No big deal. "To the gas station, then." She flashes a smile back towards the group, and begins hoofing it over to the station. Hopefully they have a trix connection.

With the terrain as it is Krieg helps adjust some of Senshi's equipment and outstretches her arms. Senshi picks her up and assists her in assuming a piggyback position. Her large overcloak blending a bit with his own to make a fairly tall individual for the momment. She compacts herself a bit and points in the proper direction for Senshi to go.
Muse manages to make it to the gas station with no apparent incident. There is a trix hookup to be found behind the counter. That's even a good place to hide unless someone actively looks behind the counter again. It's abandoned, and clearly all the shelves are empty from the store being raided recently. With no commerce to go there, and with the power systems and hookups upgraded since the Crash, this is an eerily still active but pointless gas station, with no food or gas. But it provides a working link into a Host that must be linked into the same RTG as the school.

Watching Muse cross the gap thanks to her ability to perceive on the Astral Plane, Blackheart keeps an overwatch, scanning the area for any other creatures that might be lurking about. Sometimes with mass slaughters, ghouls and other nasties wander into the area to feed. As she worries on her lip, she draws her weapons as she keeps an eye out.
There are nature spirits and stuff, but most seem to be staying away from the town. There's a mild, vague sense of 'wrongness.' Blackheart doesn't see any metahuman astral signatures nearby, unless she can see through walls.

Muse hoofs it all the way to the gas station, almost tripping a couple times. She's not a really large woman, and the armor is bulky. Also she's invisible. This is freaky. But she's not unused to magic. Slipping in through the door, she slips in behind the counter and feels up the datajack in the wall. It's dusty and leaves fingerprints. Blowing on it, she cleans it out before setting up her equipment. No one has to know. She sits in the corner against the counter and plugs in her optical cable. Time to deck.

Miyo is there to watch over Krieg with a smile. "Don't you worry!" she says. "I'll make sure nothing not so great happens!" She also grins at Blackheart. "Make sure I can see you so that I can cast the armor spell when you comm on it. I can peek out to do that, and sort of see the edge of the school, but just don't go inside."

"Posh had mentioned that I could seek guidance from you to better my conceilment capabilities." Krieg notes to Miyo quietly as she monitors local signals vis Scanner. She has Senshi set her down behind cover with the others. Senshi in turn takes up a defensive position for now, passively scanning the surroundings to alert them of danger.

The school host is a number of obedient students, sitting quietly at class, representations of programs and utilities conducting their operations. You are expected to go to the library and use the card catalog if you want anything, where battleaxe IC as librarians are around. Kids hack into schools all the time, so actually they tend to have better matrix security than expected, sometimes.
Blackheart nods her head to Miyo, "I should be bright as a beacon on the astral plane," she says as she slides her sunglasses on, and casts her spell to become invisible, preparing for when they all make their crossing.

Posh turns back to Senshi and Blackheart with a smile, as the group travels from building to building, keeping heavy walls and houses between them and the school, staying away from the street and approaching. There'll be a last cross across the street and some grass in order to get to the school building proper. Posh looks back at the others. "Ready?"

The security host seems to be a little different, likely installed a little bit later on, with wide brimmed sheriffs with big stars on their chests walking around the school, providing the kind of vigilante support reflected in the security system retrofits that they fobbed onto poor taxpayers.

Through the camera feeds, Muse can see that there's a camera in each classroom. Through the camera, Muse can see that there are autogun installations, though most of them have been removed likely to retrieve the armaments for use in the ongoing civil war. The only ones that have not are ones that clearly seem non-functional in some way: bent barrels, turrets that rotate. Of these, 2 have turrets that cannot rotate and are the only ones still with ammo - likely because these ones only have gel rounds. That's because they're located in the gym, where gel rounds might be used to disperse bullying incidents among riotous students (hey, the 2040s were nasty), and the other one is located in front of what appears to be by a back door, where the weapons scanners were removed once the 'Guns For Students Act of 2052' was passed. Muse can see two of the red blades on patrol, while two of the others are in the gym. There also seem to have been heavy panic doors installed: a set is between the gym and the classrooms, the other between the classrooms and the principals office/counselors' office/teacher's lounge area.
The cameras seem to have a little audio. Despite the battletac network, they seem to fall upon metahuman habits of speaking when not alerted. "Got a single contact in, looks about the same size. Only one, approaching the school. Could just be a coyote or something. No…maybe a small bear." They appear to be operating a sensor suite installed in the vehicle.

The two at the vehicle suddenly look alerted, sweeping around. "What the…" They both shut up, clearly going to Battletac comms. They look around the gym, seeing that everything's quiet, and both seem to depart the gym, leaving the vehicle alone. They sweep as the go around, heading towards the back door through the main hallway.

Posh nods to Blackheart and jerks her head towards the gym. She moves as quietly as possible, easing the door open smoohtly, and then slips inside the empty gym, headed over and crouching behind the MPUV. She nods to Blackheart and Senshi to take cover as well.
Senshi moves to approach, the electric battle engine not having to open the door, so he moves into cover as well, gripping his LMG.
Posh indicates to Blackheart to find some place to get cover from, a bleacher or part of the vehicle as well.
And just a few moments later, on the camera, Muse sees the two soldiers looking nervous, alert, and confused, obviously having checked out and come to the conclusion that it was indeed just a malfunction of the broken down old system.
The two soldiers seem to relax fractionally as they head back towards the gym…and into an ambush.

Blackheart decides that bleachers aren't quite enough cover from automatic rifles, so she chooses the armoured vehicle instead. The gym explodes into chaos. One of the soldiers fires his rocket launcher right at Senshi's feet, though the battle engine is little harmed, while Posh launches her way at the soldier who shot at her, scoring in a sharp hit and leaving him a little dazed. Meanwhile, already there's banging on the panic door, that suggests that Muse's quick action might have been what saved the mission - and the team's lives.

Blackheart grimaces as the soldier fires a rocket at Krieg's killbot, "Dirtbag, Krieg will never let us hear the end of that!" she says as the meatl on the robot is all cracked and pitted from the explosion. She breaks out from cover, raising her ingrams up, her two little holographic targets focusing on the guy's face as she steps around his cover, and begins blasting the explosive ammunition, breaking the humanoid shape up in a series of explosions that send his limbs flying in different directions, leaving a grisley mess on the floor where his kit clatters to the ground.

Senshi manages to sprint right behind the man engaged with Posh, and dashes him down to the ground with a powerful blow, a burst of LMG fire finishing the unconscious soldier on the ground. Posh looks around, concerned at the damage suffered by Senshi. "Whew," she says.
The banging on the other side of the door stops.
The two soldiers, alarmed, apparently seem to be sprinting away from the panic doors now, beginning to travel. Perhaps they plan a flanking action.

With its systems slightly damaged, Krieg decides to continue the prior strategy, rushing forward in Senshi to take cover at one side of the doors. It seems that the soldiers had not been foolishly unwary, and one of them is turned back towards the doors, to check his six, as they open. But the other one seems quite a bit slower on the uptake.
Senshi's machinegun spits out again, suppressing the two enemies.

Blackheart makes her way over to the doorway to the hall, just in time for the panicdoors to pop open, revealing the two guards as they fall back in the hallway. With her ears still ringing from the previous firefight, blackheart doubles down on the hearing damage and sprays down the hallway, her explosive bullets sending cascades of plaster and cement flying as she follows the dodging soldier as he dives for cover, catching up to his legs. The man's steel toe boot manages to bounce some of the bullets away, but his shins splinter and give way to the little explosives, bringing him down with bloody ruins for legs, leaving him screaming on the ground for a few moments before bleeding out.
Posh, meanwhile, with little cover for protection, trades bursts with the man in the hallway, crying out as another of his blasts penetrates her armored suit, dashing deeply in, one creasing her hip, the other tumbling directly into her upper chest, dropping her to the ground, a trickle of red escaping the corner of her lip. She's in a pretty bad way, actually, before Senshi levels his weapon and manages to bring the man she'd wounded to the ground.
It's still and quiet. With all four dead, it's relatively easy for Blackheart, the only one in top shape, to find the microwave link in the teacher's lounge and hook it into a nearby datajack to connect it to the local host instead of the comms equipment that had been set up into there.

Gritting her teeth in pain, Posh retrieves her Savior medkit, injecting the nanites into her leg. First, the opiates reduce the pain, second, the nanites begin to break down the bullets, redirecting cells to create little protein capsules so that they will eventually be excreted via the kidneys. "Just…just wait a bit," she says, seeming to relax a bit. "Okay, now would be good," she says. as the nanites travel back out of her bloodstream a few minutes later. She's still in a pretty bad way, but she's a lot more comfortable now.

As Blackheart seems to be concerned with things other than the mission objectives, Senshi proceeds into the teachers' lounge in order to disconnect one of the microwave links, which with a number of others heads up the stairs to a nother offsite location, one of the many towers within visible range, possibly.

Blackheart nods her head and rubs her hands together before digging into the holes with her hands to pull the bullets out. Magically, her hands pierce through Posh's flesh, rather than ripping the holes deeper and she's able to pull the lead and fragments out of her chest and hip, "Hmm, two fists, huh?" she teases, her hands pulling out, leaivng the wounds completely healed. She drops the bullets into Posh's plam for a keepsake and she nods to the hallway, "We should get those uplinks linked up."

Indeed, Muse has been in for quite a while, but her stealthy deck is so hard to track. Her avatar manages to log onto this new host, connected by microwave link, and then upload the virus to complete its task.

Posh smiles gratefully at Blackheart. "Well," she says. "I knew you'd make a new woman out of me," she says, with a chuckle. "Though that was a bit of a weird…experience…anyway, let's see what we can find around here," she says, apparently all fixed again. "Let's see if we can get the most valuable things we can, and then get the hell out of here."
The guys seem to have built-in cybernetic radios, but they have nifty tactical displays that can be taken.
Senshi awaits the completion of the file operations, planning to collect any of the microwave links that can be found immediately before the group heads to the MPUV to bring anything out.

It's a few minutes later, but then the MPUV bursts out of the gym doors at high speed, Posh behind the wheel and Blackheart and Senshi loaded in, the expensive comms gear and stolen microwave links sitting in the back. The sensor-equipped MPUV will become one of Major Shelley's toys, and Blackheart grins. "Well," she says, as they head to stop to pick up Muse and then head back to Miyo and the Thunderbird pick up point. "Don't think we burned any bridges that time."
Having surfed the channels of cyberspace, Muse's icon vanishes from the host, all traces of it gone. Opening her eyes, she disconnects from the cyberport and slowly gets to get feet, making sure to brush off her armor. When she hears the engine humming outside, she glances back at it, then runs out to hop in. "Good job, everyone."
Blackheart winks back to Posh and helps her up, nodding her head, "let's do a quick room to room to see if they were cacheing anything important here, before heading out," she suggests. The search goes quickly, and there's very little, save for old cat posters (Hang in there!) in the counciler's office. She dashes back to the vehicle in the gym and hops aboard, grinning to Posh with a nod of her head as her mullet blows in the wind, "Agreed, that went really well."
The group drive the MPUV over to pick up Miyo and Krieg, awaiting the Thunderbird. It arrives swiftly, as it had already been signaled by the virus upload, its ramp lowering to allow the group to just drive right on in before it lifts off.
"Well," says Posh. "Indeed. Great working with you. This one might have had a bit of a low payout, but this gear is definitely hot stuff," she says. "We'll see about how we can implement. In anyway, Muse?" She grins. "You and I are now clear. Great doing business with you. Maybe we should work out something else again."
