GM: Sorina
Players: Haley, Fandango, Tsunami
Synopsis: A group of runners test out a new automated security system for a corporation.
Date: April 2nd, 2070
Word gets around that there is a good opportunity to make money. A meeting is set up at night, at a dance club. It is pretty crowded with loud music playing in the background. Everyone is told to ask for Sorina, and if they do they will be lead into a booth back in the club.
Tsunami showed up a couple of hours before hand… His natural skill with a blade lends itself well to dancing, even if it looks like he's going through the kata that his sensei taught him. After a bit of dancing and drinking, he asks for Sorina, and gets led to the booth in the back room, clutching an Irish Iced Tea.
Fandango makes his way in, a hand going up to keep his hat on as he makes his way through the rather busy club, towards the booth at the back of the club. He slips into the booth, and then takes a seat. He offers each of them a nod in turn, and leans back against the seat. "I heard there was work going."
Tsunami showed up a couple of hours before hand… His natural skill with a blade lends itself well to dancing, even if it looks like he's going through the kata that his sensei taught him. After a bit of dancing and drinking, he asks for Sorina, and gets led to the booth in the back room, clutching an Irish Iced Tea.'.
After sorting out where the dance club, Haley takes a nice warm shower. Once she's washed, powdered and dressed she heads out of her apartment taking her supplies with her. Putting her gear into the back of her van she makes her way to the dance club and heads inside. She allows a bright smile to shine on her face as she makes her way through the crowd, looking for the person she's supposed to meet with.
Sorina is in a dark booth, sitting in the corner where its hard to see her face. Which is also made harder as she is wearing a large hat, that drops down over much of her face. She glances over towards the others as they arrive and gives them a slight nod as she waits for them to sit.
Tsunami grins broadly… He's actually looking better than usual, since his tres' chic kimono stands out at the night club like a sore thumb… But that's all anyone's going to remember isn't it? "So what's the job?" he asks rather bluntly, sipping at his drink.
Drifting through the crowd as she moves along, Haley spots Sorina and she slides into one of the seats. Her bright smile shifts into a wide grin as she says, "Hiya toots," her Brooklyn accent sharp and higher pitched. She looks over at Tsunami and gives the man a nod, her eyes tracing over his features.
Sorina smiles as she looks back and forth between them, "A.R.Y is offering up a challenge. They have come up with a brand new automated security system, and they want to test it out. Located in the exact center of the building, in their vault is a cash credstick worth 90,000 =Y=. In order to keep it, all you have to do is reach it."
Fandango leans across the table towards Sorina, "No film crews this time, alright?" he asks of her right off the bat. After last time…
Tsunami squirms a bit under Haley's gaze… Such an adorable newbie. "Is this going to be 90k for each of us? or just for the first person to reach it?" he asks, frowning. "And what can we expect to come up against?"
Sorina looks over to Tsunami, "There is just one credstick, so you can decide to split it however you want, once you get it. If you want to each go in alone and try for yourself you could. Though it may be best to go in as a team then split it. They said their system is full automated, so chances are your not going to run into people. However they have asked if you do happen to run into any employees, that you do not kill them."
A rapid fire ha ha ha sound comes from Haley as she gives Tsunami a smile saying, "Oi suggest ya wanna split it even between the three of us hon, othawise it'll be kinda unfriendly." She nods her head to Fandango and taps the side of her nose as he mentions the film crew.
Tsunami nods. "I'm not too fond of trying to snag the whole thing for myself. I'm not perfect… So I could use a little help. What time frame are we working with?" he asks.
Sorina glances over towards Tsunami, "Any time during this week is fine. They want a realistic test, so they just know a hit is going to happen within a week, though they have no idea when."
Fandango nods his head a bit, then, as he considers that. "Within a week? That sounds fine to me." He comments. "So, any hints on what we're looking at here? Cameras, pressure pads and tripwires at least, I guess? And I'm gonna go ahead and assume we're not to kill anyone"
"Okay, so here's the thing toots," says Haley as she gets comfortable, recrossing her legs. Looking across to Sorina she says, "Are their guys gonna be non-lethal with us? Because Oi'll be honest, first time somebody makes me bleed on onna these don't kill people runs, Oi'm going to string them up in the hallways by whatever strings I can make outta their bodies."
Tsunami rolls his eyes… "Please tell me they don't have ultrasound security… That just takes all of the fun out of being a ninja." he drawls, grinning. "But there's one important question that everyone's overlooking. They're expecting us. So how do we make this a surprise attack?"
Sorina nods her head slightly, "If you run into any one, chances are they are not going to be armed at all. The security force is fully automated by a computer system and maybe drones. So you probably wont have to worry about killing or not, as long as you stick with the security. Just keep in mind there are employees in the building."
Fandango shrugs, "That bit's easy. We have one of Brooklyn there's contacts put out the rumor we're hitting them a week today, and then we go in tomorrow."
Tsunami says "Doesn't leave a whole lot of time for planning."
Nodding her head Haley says, "Oi can do that," to Darius. She rolls her shoulders as she says, "Thirty thousand for us each, Oi can live with that." She looks at Sorina and she says, "Awlright, Oi'm in. Just give us the information ya have on the place, where its at and the like. We'll get ta work."
Tsunami whistles… "Thirty grand… That's some…" he stops and thinks for a moment. "Lunch money? Stupid english language." he mutters.
Sorina smiles as she reaches into her jacket and pulls out a datachip. She sets it out on the table, it holds the address and some basic information on the company, though pretty much nothing on the security the building has.
Fandango nods his head, "Of course, the big question is: Do we really want to help these motherfrakkers out?" he wonders to the group then. "Well, either way. I do need a little more cash, so I guess I'm in."
Tsunami knocks back the rest of his drink. "I'm low on cash… Don't see any reason to NOT take the job. Beggire's can't be chooosers." he says.
"Oi don't really care about helpin' 'em out," Haley says. Her eyes sparkle a little as she starts laughing, "After awl, if we don't teach 'em they'll learn it on the streets, right?" She shakes her head and glances down to her watch saying, "Well lets take the chip an' look it over," pulling out her chip reader.
Tsunami waves a hand, ordering another drink as he peers over towards Haley's chip reader.
Sorina smiles as she nods her head and slowly gets up and leaves the booth. "Good. No reason to come back here, I will know if you break in or not, and once you get to the vault you will have your payment. The job is done once you make it out of the building in one piece." She turns and heads off through the crowd.
Tsunami looks over the datachip. "I'm good at single person infiltration. not so good at taking out mechanical or other types of security. On the other hand, I'm good at going unnoticed."
Holding her hands up helplessly, Haley says, "Oi'm a people person." She smiles and says, "So this bein' awl machines isn't gonna do me much good either, but Oi'll do what Oi can with what we have."
Fandango considers a little, and he rubs the abck of his neck as he thinks. "I guess we could try to break in ON the fourth floor." He comments to the others. "You've got that fancy grapple, and I've got my own one too. Should make it significantly easier."
Fandango adds, "Unless you want to talk your way in?"
Tsunami chuckles. "Sounds like we're both S.O.L. here… I don't do well against drones." he grumbles. He then sits back and decides to take things as they come. He's never been a very good strategist, so he's letting the smarter members of the group decide the plan of attack.
Fandango looks towards Tsunami, "You got a decent comm, by the way?" he asks the other man, then, and he adds, "With decent encryption? If not, I have a spare you can borrow."
Tsunami shrugs… "I just got here. Haven't had time to pick up much of anything really." he says with a shy grin. "i'm not the wealthiest member of the fellowship."
Pulling out her poc-sec, Haley presses a speed dial. After a brief pause for the phone to be re-routed she says, "Hiya hon, Oi need ta get some things." She puts in the order for Tsunami's grapple gun and sets up an appointment to pick it up. She says, "Awlright, Oi'll let him know where ta get the stuff."
Tsunami has been trolling the shadows, examining the building from the outside. He may not have ruthenium, but his camo gets him a bit closer than he could otherwise. He uses nothing more than a pair of binoc's and his own two feet.
Settling in at a coffee shop, Haley gets comfortable. Having selected this location to best suit her needs she adjusts the glasses that rest on the bridge of her nose. To the outside world the glasses look like simple things for someone who hasn't gone through the trouble to fix an imperfection. On her side the electronic display zooms in on the front of the building.
It doesn't take to long for haley's friend to get a grapple gun, and later that they its all ready for pick up. After she goes to watch the building, she watches for a while and notices everything seems to be ran very efficently. For the most part everyone shows up at 8 am, then leaves at 5 pm. At the same time a second crew shows up and works late, to about 2am. For the rest of the night the place is empty.
Tsunami gets in really close, and spots the fact that everyone has an id card that they use to get in the main door. He is even to some how spot people on the floors above, and notices most of the doors have maglocks with keycards to open them. He also notices that the windows all seem to be rigged with alarms, should anyone try to get through them.
Fandango, meanwhile, is busy doing a whole lot of nothing. He does deliver one of his radios to Tsunami, and he also makes sure that he has his ExEx ammo loaded up. Finally, he heads out to the site to meet Haley as she does observation, and he hands over a footlong. And a coffee, of course. Casual as you like, he wonders, "Got any ideas?"
"Well shoot," says Haley cheerfully, "Seems pretty easy for me to get inside, dunno about you mugs." She adjusts her glasses and she looks at the fellow beside her and she says, "Maybe we oughta go for a two pronger on it. You two sneak in awl ninja-y, and Oi'll just walk in the front door."
Fandango nods his head a bit, as he bites into his own sub. After a moment of chewing thoughtfully, he nods his head. "Sounds fine to me. Think we ought to go for the roof, or try for the windows? They're probably alarmed."
Tsunami is almost hypnotized. He can't help but stare and be hypnotized by that wonderful accent. "Ninja… Right…" he mutters. "Give me a day to snag a card and I'll let you know how it goes…" he says. That evening he waits nearby, wearing grubby old clothing and a battered fedora. Trying to look as much like a drunken bum as possible, he waits for the very last person to leave. Then he attempts to follow them and lift their card without them catching on.
Tsunami stumbles along, muttering to himself as he does so, weaving all over the street. The man he's following looks to be a middle manager of some stripe, probably within a decade of his own age… Enough to pass for him. He falls against the man as he passes. As the gentleman shoves him away with a snort, Tsunami's deft fingers have already lifted his keycard, his wallet, and his pants. (though really just his cards for the building).
Fandango is off in the other direction, walking ahrd with his hands in his pockets and his eyes on the ground. He bumps into him and then pats him on the shoulder, "Oh hey, sorry man. My bad." he says, and then he keeps walking, slipping the keycard into his pocket as he wanders away.
At five pm the first shift finishes and people start to file out of the building, at the same time the second shift begin to arrive. Normally the front lobby of the building is quiet, though at the change of the shift is the most busy time of the day as the crowds come in and out.
Tsunami is positioned quietly outside and begins to sneak towards the building, trying to blend in with the crowds on the street until he can slip inside.
Disguise in place, hands coated with what she hopes might pass a palm reader, Haley puts the ID in her pocket. She dresses in the girl's clothes and she says, "Don't worry hon, you're not gonna be hurt. Shoot, your company is payin' ta have ya tied up just ta test their security." She smiles and adjusts her hair to match the girl's saying, "Ya might even get ta file a lawsuit against 'em." She looks to the person she brought in to watch the girl saying, "Don't let her go anywhere near any kinda communications. She goes ta the bathroom the door stays open. Don't let her outta your sight other than ta give her a little privacy when she hasta pee."
That said she heads off to work.
The building has a very nice lobby, with painting around the walls and a few benches to sit down on. There is a woman at the front desk, though she just sits there with a smile on her face. She notices people leaving through a door on the left, while people arriving are going through a door on the right. Its a large metal door, which opens when an employee swipes there card, then closes again behind them so only one can enter at a time. The door is only open a brief moment but haley spots whats in the next room when someone walks through the door. There seems to be a MAD and cyberware scanner on the other side, if it goes off, chances are the door locks behind the person.
Tsunami chuckles to himself as he watches Haley in the guise of a working-class girl. He's going to go up the side of the building, using a borrowed grapple-line to shimmy up the side of the building. He makes a careful search of the building, attempting to avoid cameras he as searches out the perfect spot to attach the grappling hook.
Walking into the scanner, trusting the fixer not to have lied about the job and who is sponsoring it Haley waits to be scanned. She rocks back and forth onto the heels and balls of her feet watching the man giving the scan.
The door closes behind haley, as the scanner begins. After a moment it beeps, "Unknown cyberware detected, rescanning…" There doesn't seem any where to go as a door infront of her hasn't opened yet. The machine beeps again, "Unknown cyberware detected, rescanning…" It takes a few moments but then alarm goes off in the room. "Cyberware weapon detected."
Commlink-Fandango> Fandango says, "Sounds like theres a cyberscanner on the front door, so I guess that option's out."
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "I got that… Sounds like they nabbed Haley. Let's NOT go in the front door m'kay?"
Commlink-Fandango> Fandango says, "Right. Let's see if there's any access on the roof, if not, we'll drop in through a window. Want to leave it till the meatside presence has gone home?"
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "Works for me. We have cards, that should get us past most of the locks. Wanna go grab a drink before things go down?"
Commlink-Fandango> Fandango says, "Sure."
Its late, now two am and the second shift is leaving. Everyone looks pretty tired as they start to file out of the door on the left side of lobby, before leaving the building.
Tsunami has taken up position near the rear of the building.
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "Hey Fandango. We good to go in?"
Commlink-Fandango> Fandango says, "Ready when you are."
Tsunami glances up at the top of the building. He may not have a degree in architecture, but he's good enough to shoot a grappling hook. With a Batman-like swirl of his cape, and a prayer, he fires it off, trying to get a hook into the roof to pull himself up.
Tsunami shimmies up the rope, making quiet wooshing noises like he's in a video game… Which oddly enough doesn't interfere too much with his stealth.
Fandango takes a grapple from his pocket, aims at the roof, and then fires it. About midway through it's flight, the spring loaded hooks pop out of the metal shaft, and then when they get to the top, it finds purchase on the ledge. He detaches the line from the grapple and puts it away, and then sets about climbing to the top. 20 minutes later, he is still standing at the top waiting for the other guy. he checks his watch and shakes his head, leaning over the roof and hissing. "C'mon!"
He does look like he might accidently kill himself on the way up, but eventually Tsunami will make it to roof and catch up with fandango. Though they wasted a fair amount of time with it. At the top of the roof, there does seem to be a door that leads inside. Though its maglocked.
Tsunami rubs his butt and grumbles… "Never did do too well on the climbing sessions." he says as he zips up over the edge of the roof. "Sorry about that. Gonna need some training to get over that. Besides, everyone's most likely gone at this point." he says, unsheathing his katana. "Want to try your card or mine first?" he asks, dangling it on its chain.
Fandango leans over and pulls the grapple line back up when the two of them are done, before unhooking the hook and closing it. He works on winding it back up. "Go ahead and try yours."
Tsunami does a quick search to try and spot any cameras.
Tsunami shrugs and wanders boldly up to the door. He stares at it for a moment and uses his card in the slot (or whatever it is that the card goes in to).
There doesn't seem to be any cameras that Tsunami can spot. There is in fact a little slot by the side of the door. It takes a few seconds but there is a beep, a little green light flashes just above the door handle as it unlocks.
Tsunami pulls open the door and slips inside. He turns on his interior urban camo (fancy word for his camo suit) and holds up a hand to Fandango.
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "Looks clear."
Fandango finally finishes winding the line back up, and then he slots it into his grapple again, and he puts it away. He heads towards the door with Tsunami, and takes out a pair of huge, silenced pistols as he creeps along. "Stay low, stay out of sight, and watch for pressure sensors." He whispers to him.
Just as fandango mentions the pressure sensors, he spots Tsunami about to step onto a pressure plate built into the floor just a few feet in front of him.
Tsunami slides over the pressure plate without even disturbing the dust on top of it. He creeps down the corridor, sticking close to the walls and shadows.
Fandango winces, "Don't step on that… pressure plate…" He comments to the other man, and then he shrugs. He backs up to the end of the corridor, and then takes off at a run. He leaps jsut before the pressure plate, and then tucks his ehad down and his legs up to avoid hitting the walls or ceiling. Then he lands the other side of the plate and rolls.
Tsunami continues to sneak down the corridor, fading into the background as best he can.
The hallway here is a bit boring, tile floor and plain white walls. Traveling down the hallway you eventually lead to a split, where the hallway continues on or goes to the left.
Tsunami waves his hand to the right.
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "Cover me… I'll head to the right and see what we've got."
Commlink-Fandango> Fandango says, "Split up?"
Commlink-Fandango> Fandango says, "Ah, alright. No problem."
Fandango gets jsut behind Tsunami, and holds both guns at the ready, ready to cover Tsunami as he ducks around the corner.
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "Nah… Best to stick together. If we run into something nasty, it'll be better to have someone who can drag our ass out of the firing line."
Tsunami holds up a small mirror, checking for any obvious threats before turning the corner.
Continuing forward a few meters down the hallway you come across the first door. A little further down and on the opposite wall is another door. The hallway stretches out for a while but you count at least six doors in total, each spread about 10 meters apart.
Tsunami moves cautiously down the corridor. Poor guy seems a bit jumpy, but that works in this sort of situation. He'll start with the first door on the left, alternating as he goes down the hallway.
Commlink-Fandango> Fandango says, "We still need to get 3 floors down."
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "if we're going to check out the security system, don't you think we should go through the motions of looting the place?"
Each door is locked, with a meglock keycard reading in the door. All look the same as the one on the roof, and it seems to be a clear pattern, that likely goes through the entire building, with all the doors locked.
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "Motions. not actuality."
Commlink-Fandango> Fandango says, "I don't know about you, but when I get hired to do a job, I don't stick around longer than I have to."
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "you have a point."
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "let's start heading down."
Fandango begins moving along the corridor, those two guns out. He keeps his eyes peeled, but he's a little distracted by talking on the comm so he's neither as observant or quiet as he could be.
Tsunami turns around to head for the stairs. He gives Fandango a nod as he passes. Credit where it's due. Man reminded him that the point is to get the job done.
Eventually at the end of his hallway, it turns to the left. It is likely parallel to the first hallway that you passed by. The hallway goes some distance with a number of doors on either side. Fandango steps on something, and it might a click…Though when he looks down he notices he just stepped on a pen.
Tsunami continues to sneak down the hallway. He jumps at the click from behind him, whirling in a near-frenzy. He stops and breathes a little easier as he sees Fandago shoving a pen out of the way. He turns back to his sneaking, moving slowly so his eyes have time to adjust.
Just a few steps down the second hallway and out of one of the doors comes a flying drone. It is about the size of a baseball and kind of hovers with a light buzz. Sticking out of the front of it is a flashlight. It turns and looks over towards Tsunami and the light passes over his head, but it doesn't appear to see him. It then turns and floats down the hallway before entering another room.
When Fandango glances back to Tsunami, his eyes have that reflective shien that cats eyes do, "Shh. Calm down." he says to the other man as they sneak along. And then the drone comes, and he freezes.
Tsunami freezes as the drone comes down the corridor. Keeping low isn't too hard, but it's quite eerie how still he is… It's like looking at a statue as the drone passes by. He'll give it a bit to get further away before he begins to sneak forawards again.
It doesn't take to long until eventually you come to a four way intersection. One corridor stands out. It looks different from the rest of the hallways, because on the far end you can tell that it opens up into a larger room.
Tsunami subvocalizes.
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "Which way boss?"
Commlink-Fandango> Fandango says, "Well, let's head down this way. It's probablyt oo obvious, but I'm curious."
Fandango begins making his way down towards the big open room.
At the end of the hallway it opens up into a large room. You spot two elevators, and off to one side is stairway. Hanging from the ceiling are two automated guns, which look as if they rotate to cover the entire room. What both just barely spot, are the little laser trip wires that seem to be spread across the room. There seems to be a dozen, in different positions, to cover just not the floor but waist and head level.
Commlink-Tsunami> Tsunami says, "Great. How do we deal with this? I'm no good with these sorts of defenses."
Fandango eyes the lasers, and he shakes his head. "I've seen a few of these before. They don't seem to be moving at least." He comments, and he glances about. "I'll see if I can get to that box over there, shut them down."
Daris takes a couple of steps back, and then blinks, keying his eyes into the infrared spectrum so that he can see the lasers a little better. He then takes off at a jog, and jumps over one, before sliding over another one, and rolling to narrowly avoid a third. He hops over one more, and then stoops under the last as he finally reaches the other side, a little out of breath.
Tsunami is throughly impressed by his companions acrobatic prowess. "Nice work. See what you can do with the lasers. I'm going to keep an eye out in case more drones show up."
The two automated guns swivel around the room and point towards Fandango as he moves across the room. They clearly seem capable of tracking motion, luckly for him they do not open fire, as the alarm has not yet been activated. Fandango probably has no idea what he is doing, however after thinkering with the control panel he some how turns off the lasers.
Fandango… is not gentle with the electronics box. He grabs the faceplate, and tears it off in a display of unnatural strength, and then he peers at the various wires and switches. Eventually he grabs one, and then yanks it off the circuitboard. He then yanks it out, and the lasers shut down.
Tsunami stares… He probably could have done that… In any event, he takes another look around before strolling acrosst the room to join his erstwhile companion. "Not that I'm an expert… but nice job." he says, taking up the point position once again.
Fandango shrugs, "What can I say? I have a gift." He comments and ehads over to one of the elevators. He swipes that ID card again, and waits for the televator to arrive.
Tsunami notices another drone slowly hovering down the hallway in their direction. The flash light scanning back and forth as it does. The card is swiped at the elevator and there is a long pause as the drone slowly floats down the hallway, getting closer by the moment. After a few seconds there is ding as the elevator opens.
Tsunami slips into the elevator… "Come on!" he whispers softly. He waves Fandango into the elevator, punching the button and plastering himself against one side of the elevator as soon as Fandango's inside.
Fandango slips into the elvator and rpesses himself against the opposite side to Tsunami as he waits for the doors to close. He holds his breath.
The drone hovers into the room, just as the two step into the elevator. Seeing the door open the drone quickly spins around and shines its light into the elevator. The beam of light passes over the two just as the doors slide shut. It was to close to tell if the door shut in time or not, leaving them both to wonder if they had been seen. So far no alarms however.
Tsunami wipes his forehead, where sweat has beaded onto his brow. "That was a close one. Let's get moving before any other drones show up." he says, starting to swear under his breath in Japanese.
Fandango winces as the light passes over him, and he shakes his head. "That's no good." he comments then, "I think it saw us. The alarm's probably silent. We need to hurry this up." he states.
The elevator goes down to the 4th floor, if you press the button for it. Though the doors don't open. Though with this place it is probably no surprise, there is a keycard slot on the inside of the elevator as well.
Tsunami gestures. "Let's do your keycard next. Mine may have been shut down already." he says, drawing his swords. Better to be prepared than not.
Fandango nods his head, putting one gun away, he takes his card out and then slots it, the other still held ready and trained on the door, just incase.
There is a pause for a moment then a beep as a light flashes red. "Restricted area. Access denied."
Tsunami prays that his card will work better. He did aim for someone who looked like a manager, so it may stand a better chance. He sheathes his smaller sword and swipes the card that he lifted.
There is a pause for a moment then a beep as a light flashes green. The door then slowly slides open.
Tsunami wipes his forehead. "This is a nasty little security system."
Tsunami says "alright. Let's get a move on. This place is starting to creep me out for some reason.""
Darius nods his head at Tsunami then, and he puts his card away, drawing his offhand gun again, he steps outside, quietly, and looks around.
Tsunami draws his other sword and creeps out after FANDANGO!
As you step out of the elevator you find yourself in a room looking exactly the same as the one on the top floor. Two automated guns, and a field of laser tripwires.
Tsunami groans and rolls his eyes. "Think you can get this one again?"
Fandango shrugs, "Can't hurt, can it?" he comments and puts the guns away again, to go work on the electroncis panel.
Fandango shakes his head this time, "No good. it's different to the other one, I dunnow hich wire to go for. If we destroy this, it'll probably set the alarms off, and then the guns will probably open fire. I'll get ready to blast them." he informs Tsunami.
Tsunami shrugs. "You might want to stand back. I'm not sure how much the electricity will arc." he says, cracking his knuckles and lining up for the perfect strike. He closes his eyes, entering a quasi-meditative state. "Whenever you're ready."
Tsunami whips his swords around, twirling them slightly before plunging both of them into the electronics panel.
Tsunami grins as he sticks his swords into the electronics box. "See? It wasn't so hard wazzzzzzz!" he trails off, biting his tongue as massive voltage runs up his swords and streams into his body. After a second he manages to rip the swords free. it's rather comical actually, the way his hair is now fanned out around him like a halo.
Sparks shoot and spray out of the wall as the metal blade slices through the control box. Some how despite the surge and nearly frying to death, enough of the wires were damage that the entire room goes dark, which knocks out the security system in this room as well.
Tsunami says "That fucking HURT!"
Upon seeing that the guns have gone offline, Fandango stands up again, "keep your voce down!" he hisses at Tsunami, then, and shakes his head a bit.
Tsunami lowers his voice. "Alright… Let's get moving. Sorry. You try having massive electrical volts running through your body." he hisses softly. He moves towards the other end of the room, patting down his still smoking clothes.
Fandango reaches into his pocket, and takes out a little plastic inhaler. he tosses it over to Tsunami, "That should help with the pain." he informs him then.
Tsunami grabs the inhaler out of midair. He's distracted by the shooting pain in his body, and quickly uses the inhaler. He sighs as the pain fades away, his body awash in a numb feeling.
Tsunami shakes his head, clearing it of the pain. "Thanks Fandango. That was… Pretty cool of you actually." he says, grinning from ear to ear. His pupils widen as his body begins to quiver. "Okay, let's move on." he says, sounding slightly out of breath as what feels like pure adrenaline floods his nervous system.
There is only one path out of the room here, unless you want to go back to the elevator or the locked door leading to the stairway. Following the path hallway out of the room, you follow down a long path until it splits and goes off in two directions.
Tsunami glances from side to side, even jumpier than usual… Maybe giving the already jumpy ninja a combat drug wasn't such a good idea after all. "You go that way I'll go this way?" he asks breathlessly, still grinning in creepy Joker-style. Turning to the… He looks down each corridor, peering into the semi-darkness.
Glancing down the hallway in one direction Tsunami notices a faint light up ahead in the distance, likely from one of the ball drones getting closer to coming around the corner.
Fandango presses himself against the wall as he sneaks along just behind Tsunami. "You see anything?" He asks him, quietly.
"Just another one of those baseball drones…" he says, pressing himself against the floor next to the wall. He hopes that his camo does the trick, because if it doesn't, he's fairly certain that he will… Go a little nuts. He can feel the drug worming its way through his body already.
As soon as the drone turns the corner, Fandango can spot it as well as the light shines down the hallway directly at them. There is a light buzz as it hovers along at about head level of a normal human. When it gets closer you can better see that in the center of the light is an eye shaped camera.
Fandango ducks low and presses his back against the wall as the drone flies past, ducking udner the visible beam of it's flashlight as it turns this way. He once again holds his breath.
Tsunami lays absolutely still, waiting for it to pass them by. He's itching to slice it in half, but something tells him it wouldn't be a very good idea. Noting that it's floating at eye level, he gets as close to the ground as he can to try and duck under the flashlight beam. maybe as it passes over him he can get some clues about it.
They are lucky that its a drone and not a human, because if it was human it would of probably stepped on them. There isn't much room to hide, though shadows seem to keep them from the drones view as the light passes back and forth along the walls before continuing on its way.
Tsunami wipes his forehead and stand up after it goes out of sight. "This is fun." he hisses quietly. "Now let's head down that corridor. There shouldn't be another drone so close behind it." he whispers.
Announcement: Vulcan shouts "Free ponies in the OOC room."
Fandango nods in agreement with Tsunami and takes off down the corridor after him. "We're nearly there, now." He comments to the other man as he skulks along.
Tsunami hisses in excitement… He trots down the corridor, making hardly any noise despite the fact that he's moving swiftly.
Tsunami says "I can't wait… 45k nuyen's gonna pay for me to eat for a good long while, maybe get my foot in the door here a bit sooner than I thought."
Not to far down the hallway it turns and continues own for a short while. There are not many doors in this area, but eventually you find a large metal door, that looks different from the ones on the other level. This one has a keycard reader and a thumb scanner.
Fandango hisses, "Shut up."
Fandango looks at his partner in crime, and then towards the door. "Let me do the honors."
Tsunami bows out of the way. "Of course. I'd be glad to… Doors aren't really my thing unless i can cut right through them."
Fandango once more tries to pry the lock open, but this one has a much better casing and he shakes his head. "yeah, You can handle this one. Just cut the damn door open with one of those japanese swords."
Tsunami concentrates, focusing his chi into… Alright alright… He lines a up a shot and takes a deep breath. He swings his swords with a manic grin… Yes, give the jumpy ninja-samurai combat drugs.
Tsunami flails his swords spastically. He manages to get them lined up just right to cut an enormous gash into the door. A few more of those and the door might come crashing down! He breathes shallowly, lining up for another swing.
Fandango takes out his two guns, and then lines them up. he fires four times, little wads of explosives plastering themself on the crack that Tsunami cleaved, and then detonating, sending fractures throughout the metal.
Tsunami winds up and unleashes a stunning assault on the hapless door. His eyes are beginning to return to a more normal pupil size, though he's still under the effects of the drug. As he gashes the door once again, he steps aside to let Fandango take his shot, closing his eyes and concentrating. The effects of the drug are nice and all, but the young man is trying to keep himself… centered, calm.
That time the hallway lights up with a red flashing light as an alarm goes off.
Tsunami takes a deep breath, fueling his drug-induced adrenaline high with suddenly chill-seeming air. He stands up and unleashes a barrage of quick attacks at the door, aiming specificially for the weak points created by their previous assaults.
Fandango winces as the alarms start going off, and he turns around, aiming both guns down the hallway, expecting drones or turrets or some other nastiness any minute. "Get in there, get the chip. We're out of here."
Tsunami takes another deep breath as he finally bashes a hole in the door. He quickly reaches through the hole and fishes around, groping blindly for the "Please oh please open" button.
Tsunami hand searches around and he finds something. The motion activated automatic gun on the other side of the door. He has enough time to pull his hand back through the hole, as rounds hit the other side of the door.
Fandango drops down onto one knee, and his smartlink comes online, identifying the two hostiles as they approach. He squeezes the trigger on one gun, twice in quick succession, the explosive rounds blowing the drone to bits. He then fires twice at the second, both shots going stray. He stands up to his full height and, still holding his guns, a pair of blades spring out of the sides of his hands opposite his thumbs.
Tsunami flails at the door. He freezes as his sword knocks a hole in the wall. Sliding to one side, he slows his breathing even as he peers inside, trying to move as slowly as possible to avoid attracting the attention of the gun.
The two baseball sized drones buzz as they fly around the corner. One takes a hit and begins to spin around before a second shot blows it into a ton of little pieces. The second one flies right towards the group as it begins to beep and flash. For a brief moment the little ball seems to look a heck of a lot more like a flying grenade…Then it explodes.
BOOM! The little drone explodes and causes the hallway to shake from the explosion.
Fandango dives onto the ground when the little drone explodesright next to him, but the concussion leaves him dizzy and his ears ringing. He scrambles in his pocket for a hit of Nitro, and then takes a puff from the inhaler. he blinks a couple of times as his iris visibly dilates, and the capiliaries in his eyes dilate. He lifts both guns up to the hole and takes aim through at the gun on the other side and then he fires both pistols at it, plinking it once, the second shot failing to do any damage
The automated gun fires back towards fandango as he sticks his head through the hole. On the other side of the door, is a large room, and the target. Saddly its behind the large metal doors of a safe.
Fandango sticks his hands through the hole once more, and once again he looses four shots of ExEx Ammo at the gun turret, and three hit home, blowing chunks off until he finally lands a lucky hit which blows it off the wall. "Get this fucking door open!" he yells at the samurai.
Tsunami continues to wale away at the door, widening the hole until it's large enough to fit through. With a sigh of relief (and still seriously hyped up on the drugs), he squeezes through nimbly, peering around.
With the automated gun destroyed, that just leaves the the other reinforced metal door, which leads to the company vault. The door looks pretty big, and can be cut through, though it will take a bit of work.
Tsunami strides up to it and squints. "I'll take care of this… If you wouldn't mind watching my back for more of those kamikaze drones." he says casually. Yuki… Err… Tsunami, begins to hack away at the wall like some insane blender… Or that weapon from "Painkiller".
You two have just broken into the most secure room in the building, the door chopped up and the metal peeled away from the frame so you could get in. Inside is a second metal door, leading to the vault, which you are pretty sure the credstick is within. The red lights continue to flash as the alarm goes off.
Tsunami grins and looks at Fandango, his eyes still dialated by Nitro. "Let's take out the door man. Our payment should be on the other side." he says, his breath coming in shallow pants.
Fandango cursesas he spots a second safe, "You get that open. I'll cover use from here." He says, and then he takes cover at the hole that's been cut, using the remnants of the main doors to shield most of his form, while he sticks both guns through to aim down the corridor incase anything else comes.
Tsunami slashes at the door, opening a gash in it as Fandango covers his ass. He's not frothing at the mouth, and one would get the impression that he'd try his hardest to be controlled and calm… But when bashing through doors, the best way to go is to strike with all of your might.
After a short period while Tsunami is still slashing away at the door, something comes rolling down the hallway. It looks like a much bigger drone, on a wheeled track, about half the size of a dwarf. Sticking out of the front is a long barrel of a gun.
Fandango winces when he spots this creature, and he closes one eye, using the other to target he has the smartlink system in his mind begin identifying weak points, improving the signal reasolution…
Tsunami turns on the drone, madness in his eyes… Sort of. He just looks pissed that something's interrupting them when they're this close to their goal. He pounces on the thing, driving his swords deep into the metallic body before ripping them free in a shower of electronic guts.
Sparks fly off the drones box shaped body as the sword stabs into it. When Tsunami pulls the sword back out the barrel of the gun raises up and sprays bullets into him from just a few inches away.
Then the gun tracks Tsunami, Fandango's smartluink finally identifes the weak point he was looking for, and calculates a vector for him. he adjusts his aim slightly, and then squeezes the trigger. A bullet flies from the end of his gun, and pinches through a narrow gap between the vehicles plating, and then explodes inside, frying it's already damaged circuits
Tsunami slumps back against a wall, clutching his bleeding shoulder. The Nitro is being overtaxed, and he's honestly feeling the pain now. "Shit shit shit…" he gripes, breathing shallowly.
The drone is pushed back as its inside explodes and it goes offline. Smoke raising from the top of it as it lays wrecked in the hallway, though its still big enough that the broken drone nearly blocks the hallway.
Tsunami glances up at Fandango. "I'll hack through the rest of the door. I don't know how good I'll be for anything else though." he says, getting to his feet. He takes a stance at the door, hacking at it as precisely as he can.
Fandango nods his head at Tsunami, and he says, "They're using real ammo. All bets are off. We encounter anything, we kill it, on the way out." he tells Tsunami, guns still leveled along the length of the hallway
It takes him a half dozen slashes until the metal finally begins to peel open, and the prize can be spotted. A small credstick, with a 90k value on it. Nothing else seems to be in the safe however. Just then a second alarm goes off, "Vault breached, securing area…" A large metal door starts to slide down over the door out of the room. Though it gets stuck for a moment on all the sharpnel created from the main door being peeled open.
"MOVE!" Fandango yells to the other man, and then dives through the door into the hallway outside, ignoring the way the shredded metal tears at his coat.
"NOT WITHOUT MY PAY!" Tsunami shouts. He's already in the room, so he rushes to the cred-stick. Scooping it up, he does an extremely sharp 180 degree turn, running full tilt for the shrinking opening.
There is a loud screeching sound, and a few sparks as the door tries to push the pieces of metal out of its track on the way down. Suddenly there is a loud hiss as a green gas is sprayed from several holes in the wall, into the vault room. A second later the door finally slams shut, sealing the room that is flooded with gas. Luckly Tsunami made it out just in time.
Tsunami coughs and chokes for a moment… Then he proudly holds up the cred-stick. "Looks like 45k for each of us." he says with a grin. "Assuming we can get out of here." he mutters, putting pressure on his still leaking shoulder.
Fandango nods, "We'll make our way to the nearest window, and we can rapell down." he tells Tsunami then, and he squeezes his way around the drone, before taking off full pelt.
Suddenly the hallway is eerily quiet as the sirens from the alarm go off. Even though the sound is gone, the red lights continue to flash, showing that the alarm is still in effect throughout the building.
Tsunami hisses. "Shit… That can't be good." he says, following along with Fandango. Despite his injuries, he taps into his chi to put on an extra burst of speed (in rules terms, using spring)
and heading for the nearest window
It doesn't take them long to find a window, or what they assume is a window. Though all they see is the metal screen that has dropped down over it, to keep any one from getting in or out of it. Before they have a chance to do anything, three baseball drones wiz around the corner and fly up from behind them.
Fandango swings around and puts his back against the wall. He brings his guns up, and fires at the two drones- he wings one and a second shot blows it apart, then his second pistol lets out two more rounds, one just barely winging the inoming drone but the other flying wide and blowing a chunk out of the wall.
One drone gets blown to pieces and falls to the ground. One of them zips by the gun fire, taking a grazing shot but that doesn't slow it down. It flies right between then two and explodes! Boom, white sticky stuff sprays all over the place, and suddenly fandango is fully glued to the wall. Tsunami some how dodges most of it, his upper body free but his feet now glued to the floor.
The second drone gets hit with a little of the sticky stuff as well but is able to avoid the worst. It flies in close and it also explodes, spraying the glue all across the hallway and covering everything.
Fandango strains against the glue. Blades spring out of his hands, and he struggles and pulls at the binds but it's no good, he can't break free.
Tsunami flails about and manages to pull himself halfway free before the other drone covers him in yet more of the sticky goop.
The sounds of another drone on a wheeled track can be heard further down the hallway and around a corner. Its slowly makings it way in this direction, though you wont have line of sight to it until it reaches the corner.
Fandango is stuck pretty good to the wall, with all the struggling he only barely loosens the glues hold. Tsunami on the other hand finally pulls he feet free.
Fandango tries his hardest to wrench himself free, face red from the effort as the bonds begin to snap but not quickly enough. "Cut me out!" he says to the other one, as he ehars that drone coming this way.
The swing looks good as the blade slices down through the glue but there is just to much of it. Fandango finds himself able to move a little more but now the sword is glued to the wall.
Finally, with some of the gloopy mess cut away by Tsunami's swords, he manages to pull himself free. He peels a strand of gloop off himself, and then throws it on the ground, and then turns towards the metal shutter ont ehw indow. he aims his guns at it and starts firing furiously, trying to blow a hole through.
Tsunami takes up a guard position in front of / behind Fandango, ready to leap into action the moment the drone shows its face.
Suddenly that drone comes driving around the corner, it takes a moment to slowly turn in the tight hallways. Its another box looking drone on wheels, with a long gun barrel sticking out of the front. As Fandango fires away at the window, the first two shots put a nice size dent into it, but then the second two shots blow a larger hole through it.
As fandango makes his way down, he finds the glue on his hands making it very difficult, and ends up getting tangled up in the rope about halfway down.
Tsunami jumps out of the window… and COMPLETELY misses the rope. He soars through the air, trying to turn himself so he lands on his feet. He lands on his feet… but he hears a crack as he lands and bites his lip hard enough to draw blood. He's fairly certain he's cracked some thing, and the pain that shoots through his legs tells him that yes… He'll need a doctor by the time this is all over.
Fandango struggles his way down the line until he gets about halfway. his leg gets stuck, and he slipps, loosing his hold. He drops, hanging from his leg for a moment, he sees Tsunami falling past him, and he just reaches up with hti catalyst stick to dissintegrate the line. He drops, lands on his back, but is able to take the brunt of the fall in his shoulders and absorp the impact with a half roll. Still, he's pretty winded. He rolls over, and gasps for breath, and then begins dragging himself to his feet. Finally he gets up, mvoes over to Tsunami, and helps him limp away from the building as fast as the two injured men can.
