So Muse has been hunting for parts for a while. Today though she got a tip off from the news rags. A microtonics company thats being bought out by Ares Macro, That means chaos and employees taking shit home. it means they will be rushing to deliver back orders and deal with staff. The place is even in California meaning extradition if she does get caught would take a while…you know if the host doesnt fry her brain.

Muse is chilling at a soycafe like norm. She rode public transit here, which was thankfully wheelchair accessible enough. Sure, she can't walk, but luckily decking doesn't require walking. As per usual, she spends her Nuyen for a direct MXP access pass to some high speed internet. This might be dangerous if there were /any/ pattern to the soycafes she decks at. Worse would be a pickpocket going over her body while she's out, but that's also why she doesn't carry anything of value on her when she's doing this.

Rolling over to the seat, she moves over to the booth and plugs a line from her deck into the booth's jack. Then she logins with her passcode.

«Plot» Muse says, "Entering Masking Mode. Subtracting half of Body (5-2.5) for 2 body, and adding half to masking (9+4.5 = 13.5) adding Sleaze R8 for 21.5 and dividing by 2 for a final DF of 10.75 (10 rounded down). Subtracting 6 HP for a +3 add to DF for a final total of 13Detection Factor."
«Plot» Muse says, "Logging on to the local Soycafe host."

Getting into the actual network isnt that hard. Well getting in to the basic site host anyway. The Host she logs on is a mess, a huge warehuose looking space with thousands and thousands of endless stacks of crates and wierd floating flags and signs pointing to customer service and that kind of thing. Its like going into an endless costco but all the crates are just meaningless files, bits of actual raw data on sales and such. Buzzing frames move around picking data and looking out while Security programs fly over like digital lanterns as big black balls of metal and little sails of binary code.

«Plot» Muse says, "Looking to see if the paydata exists on this warehouse host"
«Auto-Judge[]» Muse (#1921) rolls Computers (Decking) + Hacking Pool: 9 for "Validate R6, Locate Paydata":

Muse tears through the Denver LTG like a banshee. She tears through the icon fabric of reality like a knife through butter and hones in on her target: The hectic microtronics company. With a swipe of her hand, she summons a few utilities to assist her in making the edits to stock. This isn't the first time she's done this, this week.
«Auto-Judge[]» Muse (#1921) rolls Computers (Decking) + Hacking Pool: 9 for "Read/Write R6, Adding RAS Overrride Unit to shipping order":

«Auto-Judge[]» Muse (#1921) rolls Matrix Background for "Comp roll":

Her tearing through does draw a little attention though. She pings her way through an Ares host tracker. Nothing that caused a real alert but her credentials and logon got tagged.

«Auto-Judge[]» Miko (#4425) rolls 8 vs TN 13 for "detection":
1 1 3 3 4 5 11 15 = 1 Success

A security IC, In this case a low grade White IC Approaches her net simulacra. The thing looks like a choppy hologram of a security guards suit held up by a body made of static and white noise. In front of it a text window pops up 'please submit client credentials or employee ID.'

«Auto-Judge[]» Muse (#1921) rolls 9 + Hacking Pool: 9 for "Evade Detection, Cloak R6":
1 1 1 1 1 2 3 3 3 3 4 4 4 4 5 5 8 13
«Plot» Muse says, "My TN for that was the host's security rating, -6. I think that's 2? So 13 successes."
«Plot» Muse says, "The host now makes a security value roll, its TN is 9 - Lock On (if it has it)"
«Plot» Miko says, "im pretty sure it doesnt have lock on"

1 1 3 3 3 5 9 9 = 2 Successes
«Plot» Muse says, "That's 11 net successes."
«Plot» Muse says, "The IC will redetect muse at the end of 11 turns."

Muse, in the middle of swiping up her utilities and editting data, doesn't even notice that she's triggered an IC until it approaches her asking for credentials. She looks at it with an expression that basically says 'Seriously?' Then she's gone. Wisps of smoke as she fades into the iconometry of the host.

(Security Tally 4)
The host info on the server is still looking for whatever is in the system but isnt supposed to be. Good thing its looking for her in records and the company 401k not the stock system and shipping. In the shipping info she even hits paydirt. Some heavily encrypted files called 'Azztechnology Board parts and security programs sales'. So if she could crack this data she might be able to sell off the info of what Azztechs newer security software is.

Her hunt for software leads her to a 'loading' area where several Black IC that look like skeletons made of red glossy plastic wearing Ares security armor is hauling away the Encrypted pay data into a secure channel for upload. Once shes tagged by the system though she can 'hear' a binary alarm go off and a warning of 'unauthorized access. Level 2 alert.' The skeletons start to load the data faster as the loading IC of the warehouse is shut down giving them more bandwidth through emergency protocols.

«Plot» Miko says, "you have 5 turns to deal with the IC and get the paydata before its gone."

«Auto-Judge[]» Muse (#1921) rolls 9 + Hacking Pool: 9 vs TN 5 for "Evading Detection. Host Rtg8 - Cloak R6 + 3.":

Muse flows around incorporeal looking for sweet data. When she finally notices that data, there are a bunch of ICs guarding it. Well this won't do, so she slips back into the datastream to prepare her next move. Loading up her validation utility, she tests against the sudoers file and attempts to give her root access. After a few hundred failed tests, she's got it. Superuser access.

«Auto-Judge[]» Muse (#1921) rolls Computers (Decking) + Hacking Pool: 9 for "Downloading paydirt. Read/Write R6.":

«Plot» Muse says, "I brute force it."
«Plot» Miko says, "ok fine. 35k. if your submitting the log to staff note that you decrypted a 15tn paydata for an extra 15k on an average red-8 grid"
«Plot» Miko says, "while they didnt get a trace on muse there is a security warning on the Denver LTG. Nothing that could be traced to Muse but clearly Ares knows what happens. Might be a good time to get home."
Unplugging from the wall, Muse has only been here a few minutes, but she's already got everything she needed. The shipping labels are redirected to a dummy apartment she paid cash Nuyen for. The encrypted data is now decrypted and on her deck, bruteforced into its tasty state. Now she's just gotta sell it. She'll take care of that in the future. For now, it's time to finish her soycafe and catch the next bus home. Mission complete.
