GM: Vera
Players: Luck, Matija, Nel, Vera.
Synopsis: With a lot of purchased intel, the runners do a favor for Vera's friend Les and make him look good by providing him a short-notice hit squad on a payroll courier.
Date: Nov 14, 2074 :)

PCs in Plot: Vera, Luck, Nel, Matija. The log involves the PCs being hired by Les a little under market (a favor from Vera to him) as deniable assets to hit a Chavez payroll, tipped off by Cracka Jack who wants to weaken the newcomers a bit. The PCs ended up hitting the payroll crew in a D zone. Against a rather difficult encounter (5 thugs with 5s in everything and 1 kp each, and 1 courier with 6s and 5s and 6 kp), the players managed to come out on top, although everyone came away with an M wounded (thankfully they can go to Vera's doctor contact and get first aid) They get to split the payroll with Les.

Recommended Karma: 3 for each player. Recommended Rewards: Based on the plot, specifically 32130 value for each player. Matija is getting full cash, while fake SINS were acquired for Nel and Luck (Nel: UCAS: Miyo Shima), (Luck: UCAS: Gretchen Walker), reducing their awards 8000 each to 24130, whereas Vera was doing this as a favor to Les, reducing her award to 22130 plus 1/2 favors done for him. Thanks so much!

«Plot» Vera says, "This is a Player Run Plot. It's a freaking Shadowrun. By going on this, you are consenting that you may get hurt, et al."

It was a dark night. Like every night is. And it was high. Just like it should be, for it's the Mile High City. And all that stuff.

The Cybered Arms is run down but rather homely, and the elven lass that has shown up to be Johnson tonight is dressed in black, wearing a pair of dark Gargoyles, and a little bit of a smile. Here in a back of the Arms, it's dark enough to send shadows over the waiting elf's face, to give her a bit of a sinister cast. She indicates the small group. "Have a seat. Les'll be here in a minute," says she who'd set the meet up.

Matija slips into the Cybered Arms and glances about the room, spotting Vera. She takes a seat, pulling her armoured long coat to one side as she settles onto her chair.

Nel shows up a bit early, which makes sense because she was excited when the prospect of the mission had initially come up. She had her coat on, and had armed up, though at first glance she might appear to be weaponless. She nods to Vera before taking a seat.

Sinister cast? Pfft. It's not intimidating. Luck walks in and nods at the people here, looking like she wants to hit someone. That, however, is the same look as being excited to work. She just always looks so /intense/. It's one of the 'perks' of being an Oni, a Far-East-Style Ork. The other two benefits are red skin and tiny horns. She plomps down in a chair, spread out a bit, wearing what armor she has, as well as gloves on her hands. "So what's the deal, eh? Got any info before the person's in here?"

Vera grins. "Well," she says. "I'm here to lay things out, even though I'm coming along on this one. My buddy Les'll be stopping by, just to see how much he needs from us after this - this is partly me doin' him a favor, but I want to make sure this goes down quick and clean. See, we gotta make this look good," she says, ensuring that the table's white noise generator is switched on. She leans in, speaking lowly, nevertheless, making sure to glance to see if anyone's leaning over to see the four femmes at the booth in the back. "See, the Sucreasi lieutenant, Cracka Jack, has asked for a quiet, deniable hit team, to hit the Chavez' payroll. Quick and dirty. I'm going to be handling everything through Les, using his throwaway weapons, and a cheap car, and then were gonna go for it," she says, with a grin. "Apparently, there'll be a segment in a C zone that the Chavez payroll is going to have to pass through in daylight hours. That means there'll be panic buttons, but no cameras. It's through a tunnel, so there's no real sniper access," she explains. "It's only temporary, apparently there's work being done, but a lot of teams would snap at this job. I intentionally lowballed Les on this quote to show him what I thought we can do. It's a risk, but I think it's worth it. And we'll have cover on this one - so it's really just…are you ready to face off against some of the nastier folks the Mafia have to offer?" she asks. "At least, the knockoff Mexican version. Or at least, one of the outfits that swear loyalty to them. But these are suits - no gangers. We can expect flexes on all of 'em, and maybe a surprise or two. Probably no magic."

"The 'Chavezes'" Matija leans forward to listen to the brief. "Sounds very asian, are you sure they're yakuza?" she wonders, then when mention of the mafia is tacked on, and then mexican cartels, the woman wonders who they /aren't/ going to piss off with this run. She shrugs her shoulders, "Okay, so they'll be passing through a tunnel. We could run them into a barricade and gun down the survivors if we had a truck."

Nel nods after getting the information from Vera. "I am ready. Ive not had the opportunity to test my skills in a real situation." She steeples her fingers and rests them against her lips, tips of her fingers brushing the tip of her nose. "My only issue is getting into position that I can take advantage of inside of a tunnel."

Luck looks to Matija, eyebrow raised. "Uh. Chavez is latino. Not Asian. Ain't gonna be Yakuza." She just stares for a few seconds, then looks back to Vera. "So you expect no magic. Just suits. Mexican suits." She chews the inside of her cheek a bit. "So if we do it fast enough, not a question of us being ready for them, but… Them being ready for us. We got a distraction planned, maybe decoys or even like… A time schedule for change of guard? Or we just runnin' in blind and hopin' that makin' funny sounds will scare 'em off?"

Vera nods. "Well, if you're really good at keeping a low profile," she says to Nel, thoughfully, "perhaps you can like…hide, and let them get past you. Then when we hit 'em from the front, you can hit 'em from the back, make sure they don't get away with the briefcase? I think it's a number of certified credsticks, that they used to pay a lot of their SINless stooges," she explains. "The whole total is nearly two hundred thousand, but we're gonna be splitting half right off the top. And we've gotta buy our own weapons and ride for this one, out of the take, so let's keap it cheap. We're gonna have to get out after starting a fire fight in a C zone, so we'll only have a few minutes to book it before getting it out. Fortunately, unlocking the case is included in the deal, from what Les told me," Vera says. "So. If we're gonna seem like a real run team, we're gonna need an honest to goodness plan," she says, turning to Luck. "It's a courier and five guards. The mission is to kill them all and secure the briefcase, en route, while they're traveling in a rather rarely used transit tunnel. There might be one or two bystanders, so we should make sure we're well disguised or something."

Nel chuckles. "Staying out of sight and going unnoticed is my specialty." She makes a fist and makes a gesture. "Considering I do the most in close, it will work for me."

"Okay, how's this sound?" Matija asks, sitting forward and stooping over the table. "We block the road with a heavy truck. Then I hit the driver with a manabolt, making the car plough into the truck. The rest will be stunned from the crash, and you three pull up and gun them down as their heads are ringing from the collision. We then pull out, and switch cars four blocks away, burning the one we ditch."

Nel nods a bit. "If you can hit the driver like that you probably dont need to worry about the truck. Theyd probably lose control and crash anyway."

Matija says "The truck keeps them in our area of operation. WIthout it, they could coast into open traffic, which would complicate things.

Nel hmmms… "What about some sort of trap? Whatd be the chances of getting our hands on some light explosives or something? They drive through and blow the tires off of it."

Vera shakes her head. "I'm sorry, I wasn't clear," she says, taking a napkin and a couple of salt shakers and beginning to lay out a map. "See, they have to change cars, because the area between two sectors they control is blocked to traffic. Something about flow maintenance and crap. It's through a parking garage partway, but it's foot traffic only for two hundred yards, because of construction on the main traffic tunnel. Most people take the monorail, but can you imagine taking a briefcase full of credsticks on the monoral?" Vera asks, with a grin. "Anyway. Aside from Nel waiting while they pass and us hitting 'em from the front, how should we play this?" she asks.

Nel furrows her brow. "They will be on foot? That seems like itd be the best time to strike."
Luck smirks at Matija. The joke, realized. Okay. Then with Vera's comments, and Matija's input… Awesome. "Could do. Makes it easy." She ponders a few moments, hearing Nel's idea, and then shrugs. "Only problem I see is that they might use two cars. First car gets hit, then second car won't run into it." A look to Vera. "We know where they're headed, where they're coming from? Trap them on the way…" Then, Vera clarifies. "Oh. Aight. Uh. Let's go with… We hide in the shadows in the parking garage. Nel gets in from behind. I get right in the middle. Spearhead them from all angles all at once."

"They'll likely have both ends of the tunnel secured before the couriers arrive," Matija guesses. "Do we have a way to jam their comms? Whoever's on the far side will come running as soon as the gunfire echos through the tunnel, so we'll have to block it somehow." She looks to Nel, "Those explosives you mentioned might do the trick. Are you good at rigging C4?"

Vera nods. "But since we'll be operating in a D sector, we've got to make sure we don't get too much attention with explosives and shite like that," she says, revealing her Britishness a touch, and not the delicate type. "So we've got to keep this bullets only. Street stuff." She smiles. "I assume some sort of brutal hacker for you, Luck, a pair of Savalettes for me, Smartguns for Matija, and a nice machete for Nel?" she suggests. "Anything else?"

Nel blinks. "Machette? Nothing so crude…"

Vera shrugs. "What then?" she asks. "Remember, I can't get anything too fancy. We've got to get this quick," she says.

"Blackheart," Matija corrects Vera. "We're planning a murder in a bar, we should stick to pseudonyms."

Nel smirks. "I've got some of my own equipment for this. So, no need to worry too much." She crosses her legs.

'Posh' grins back at Blackheart. "Hey, you never confirmed it," she says. "And I suppose that means we're planning…six murders in a bar," she says, looking around, carefully. "That's what we're doing. We take this job, it's easy, it's quick, but it's not clean," she says. "We're making a statement for the mafia." She shakes her head at Nel. "No using your own equipment for this one. All of us are using throwaways, only. What do you want me to get you?" she asks.

The elf makes a face at the prices of pistols. "I think I might be sticking to Pred Twos, then," she says, with a smile, turning to Nel. "Should I put you down for just something simple? A kukri? Katar? Standard shortsword? Or do you want something fancier, like a cougar?" she prompts.

"They can trace blade patterns as easily as ballistics these days." Vera replies. "I'm sorry, but you've gotta use a throwaway on this one. Otherwise, I can't use you. That's just the way it is," she says, glancing at the others. "That's all right for you both, right?" she asks Luck.

Luck waves a hand. "I've got a blade on a stick," Luck notes, "so all I need is defenses. No worries. Just call me Luck, as usual." She pulls an electronic cigarette out of her pocket, puffs. "Don't think a blade on a stick would be uh… Too difficult to pass off." She crosses her legs, and shrugs. "Don't worry about this. Armor though, would be nice. Just in case." She takes a few seconds. "I can make my own blade after. Not really worried."

Matija shrugs her shoulders, "A gun is a gun," she says. "As long as smart guns don't log MAC addresses of induction pads, I should be fine. We'll need ninja suits, too," she smiles. Ninjas look awesome with uzis.

Nel tips her head. "I… dont…." She rubs her temples. "I dont understand…" She gestures at Vera. "If they can trace it, how in the world am I ever supposed to use it…? I might as well just throw it away now the way it seems."

Vera laughs. "No, this is just what the contact demanded. He's a Mafia guy, through and through. I don't think the idea that we were gonna sword these guys ever even entered his head. But we do the job as the contact says. That's what it means to be a pro, you know?" she says.

Nel waves a hand dismissively. "Fine, fine… Buy me something disposable then. Doesnt matter what it is."

Vera looks pathetically grateful at Nel. "Look, thanks, Nel," she says. "How about a monosword? It won't run to dikote, but…" She grins. "After all, I'm spending a thousand. So's Blackheart," she says.

«Plot» Vera says, "3600 total, -20 percent negotiated for final price of 2880, got fast (12 hours), for throwaway weapons. No fancy ammo."

"Okay, let's get this gear and then get into position. We'll ambush them in the parking garage as soon as they pull up." Matija suggests. "I'll hit them with manaball, then the rest of you come in and finish them off. We'll fill them full of holes for the coroner and the contract, and everyone's happy."

Vera grins at the others as she gets off the phone. "All right. I'm goin to be able to get ahold of the weapons, it seems. Anyway, Les'll be here in a few. Any last questions about the plan? I don't think we had a good exfil - we've got to find a way to get out of the sector and get across the border before the Star lays eyes on us."

"Well, we get that crappy car you mentioned earlier and use that. Then when we're in the clear we can torch it and take off in somethin else." Matija suggests.

Nel frowns. "I may no guarantees on being able to sneak through. Considering all possibilities, it doesn't sound like I'll be much more than a liabilitiy doing so."

Vera gives a pained look to Matija. "And I'm sorry, but no manaball, I'm afraid," she says. "We don't want anything that's going to bring in the magic SWAT either, you know?" she asks. "And a big blasty mana attack definitely is. Sorry, it's the SMGs for you," she says, with a smile. "You cool with that, Blackheart?" she asks.

Luck nods. "I can call her." That's all she really says about it. "Pretty sure it'll work." But then Vera says no Manaball, and Luck grunts with dissatisfaction. "Whut. No, no. Do you like, not get Magic? The reverb from it will be safe enough. The echo will likely fade within minutes." A look to Matija. "But if we can like… Do without said Manaball, then awesome. Might be more difficult though."

"We can waste these schmucks without it," Matija says with an indifferent shrug. "It'll just get a lot messier and less pro, but if that's what the guy wants, that's what the guy gets."

Vera grins. "Was that me just being paranoid? If we just have to be gone by the time the cops get there, then sure, but I was under the impression that using spells escalates things, and the heat, sorta like using bombs," she says. "At least, attack spells, of that type. But if I'm being an idiot, tell me," she says.

«Plot» Vera says, "The mobster was very clear: 'Ice 'em with throwaway weapons only. I wanna keep this looking fast and dirty'"

"It escalates things, yeah, but you realize how many Mages and Shamans there are in the world? If Mages could be traced so easily, there would be /zero/ runners using Magic at all. Even Adepts like me." Luck is pretty solemn about this. "It won't escalate things enough to be a danger." A look over to Matija. "Yeah. If there's people following these guys, then we're way out of our league anyway. We may need masks either way, if just to cover faces."

Nel taps at her chin. "We're ready now, right?"

Vera shakes her head. "We still gotta call in a car, four ninja outfits - I'm thinking armored camo suits, black, in Urbyn Nynja pattern," she says, nodding to Matija, hoping for approval, "and then we gotta quickly run this plan by Les. Then it's gear up and book it," she explains.

Contact Name: Sara Milczarek
Level: 1
Type: smuggler
GM Note: Racism +2 (Humans). Troll woman, age 45. Minor dislike for humans, if only because of the humanocentric Humanis Policlub.

A smooth, dagger-like figure walks in, as Les makes his way into the Arms, a toothpick dangling from between his thin lips. "All right, ladies," he says. "You all ready to make me look good tonight? I set up Posh with a lot of intel, so you should be ready to make this loud, proud, and untraceabe," he says, confidently, looking out around you. "Now, I wanna hear the plan. And not from Red, here," he demands, looking around the table coldly.

"We're going to go in and shoot everyone up, then take their stuff, just like you ordered, boss." Matija says bluntly, after all, that's exactly what was on the menu.

Les smirks. "Cute." He shakes his head, as Vera winces a little bit at Matija's response. "I wanna hear how you're doing to do what the smartass here just succinctly fuckin' summarized for me," he says, looking to Nel and Luck, in turn, fixing them each with the same.

Luck clicks her tongue. "Well, first, the idea is to get in. Sneak, smuggle, waltz… However. But then basically yeah. Shoot 'em up, cut 'em up. If you're looking for untraceable, loud and proud might be difficult to work in. But we'll do it." Then she cocks her head to look at Les. "…Thank god you weren't looking at me when you said 'Red', we'd have to work in you getting your ass kicked. But yeah. We walk in and take their shit like a playground bully and a smaller kid with candy. Sweet, sweet candy."

"We get gear, we use gear, we get rid of gear." Nel adds. "Anyway, what we mean to say is we intend to intercept, stall their progress, and inhibit them from making contact with their second ground. Hopefully, we will dispatch them before any reinforcements can arrive. Then, we get the goods and escape."

Les shakes his head. "You've got a real bunch of green thugs here, don't you?" he asks.

Vera shakes her head. "I'm sorry. But yeah, we were all there once, weren't you?" she asks, turning to the group. "This is how it's done," she says. "Here, we've got a request for what we think we need to complete the mission," she says, "and I'm sure you'll see it's quite reasonable. An array of throwaway weapons, a throwaway Americar, and some black camo suits. We've arranged with a smuggler to get us and the gear into the D sector, and I'm sure you can have the car waiting for us there. We'll meet up with the car, drive to the meeting point. The little one will hide in wait at the entrance and signal us when the courier and guards pass. We'll hit them from the front and rear, and then hop in the car, drive to the chop shop Cracka Jack's clued me into, and then have Luck's smuggler take us back to safety. Loud but clean," she says. "In addition, we were hoping to set up a couple of basic SINs for those of us without to work with. In case of a spot check of course, but these'll be useful for you in the long run. We good, Les?"

After a moment, the dagger-like man slowly nods. "All right. Get it done," he says, with a tight smile, before, wordlessly, he heads off into the night.

The border crossing is done hurriedly but easily, the runners sneaked under a load of fish, soon dropped off at a lonely parking lot where a sad America is waiting, a large duffel in the back seat. A poc-sec linked mag key rests on the back tire. "I'm driving unless someone objects," says the redheaded elf. "And it looks like we're going to have to change in the car. Should have thought that one out better…"

Matija's dressed in her slumming clothes for the border crossing, some tights, a black skirt and a sweater with some old day hikers. Changing in the car isn't difficult, she just kicks off her shoes and slips into her cammos. "That Les is a real charmer, what rock did you find him under?" she asks as she changes into her ninja suit, zipping up over her clothes with just the hood down for now, until it's time to go. She also checks her uzi IIIs on the drive over, her gloved fingers making sure they're in working order for the hit.

Nel has a significantly easier time chaging than some of the others, at least as they were in the vehicle. Her smaller size certainly helped. "Not a particular fan." She comments in response to the reference to Les.

The camo jumpsuits do indeed turn out to be easy. Vera just leaves her jacket in the car, slipping on the urban camo suit instead, pulling on the balaclava. "Does this make us storm ninjas?" she asks. "I wonder if we should have worn bunny masks," she says, with a quirk of her lips. "Lookin' good, Ninja Two," she says. "You're Ninja One, Three-Sev. Luck, You're Ninja Three. I'm Ninja Four." She grins. "Don't ask how I came up with the numbering. And Les is a pretty solid guy. He just has no reason to respect this outfit yet." She grins. "Let's give him one."

The group of runners heads to the tunnel, where Nel is to hide in wait, while the others form a gaggle at the other end, hoping to catch the Chavez gangsters between them.

Ork Ninja. NinjOrk? Something. "God, these clothes are riding up my-" Luck, paragon of subtlety and class. "He'll learn respect, no doubts there." She smiles, though it's hard to tell. Only her eyes are showing. It's also very difficult to hide the horns. "So, fearless leader," she notes to Vera rather ironically, "where do we start? Don't say 'the beginning' or I'll punch you when this is over. Puns and me don't get along."

Matija smirks as Ninja 3 complains about the tight cammo, and she pulls her own hood up, hiding everything but her silver eyes as well. She secures her web belt of extra ammunition and holsters her uzis for the time being. "There's the tunnel up ahead," she says, looking about the car park cautiously. "This isn't a particularly popular spot, is it?" she asks, looking around, not seeing too many cars in the parkade.

"With that," Vera says, as the group's excellent timing means that there's crew of toughs approaching, enough sunglasses and hairgel to outfit a New Jersey frat. These guys look like they mean business - a couple long coats suggesting bigger weapons, a few of the Mexican wannabe-meatheads going for the suit and loud shirt route. Perhaps fortunately, the pass-through tunnel is deserted except for a couple of tired wage-slaves going about their business.

Nel glanes over at Luck at the comment about the way her outfit fits on her and hmms. "I suppose it's not an ideal fit, but it will work for now." She looks around a bit. "Hopefully we don't have any issues with being too suspicious."

When she is suddenly confronted, Nel does the only thing she can think of doing that won't get her killed… she makes up some completey bullshit story. "Oh… me?" She inquires in her most innocent voice, taking a moment to pull her hood back. "I… I was just on my way home…" She blushes like a schoolgirl. "I… I was at a cosplay party." She strikes a bit of a pose, showing off in the rather tight outfit. "D-Do you like it?" Blushblush coysmile.

The mafia guys look a little suspicious, but they shrug. "Sheesh. Denver ain't what it used to be. Takes all kinds," he says, shaking her head. "Who woulda known cuties like that woulda gone all nerdy. Now, you ask me, Miguel, why aren't more of the gals still into the fake tans?" he asks, as the group continues to proceed past the tunnel, taking just a few more steps before they realize that…well…there are THREE FREAKING NINJAS sneaking up on them. Vera sights her Predator Twos in in two separate targets, her face grim as she sees the situation go downhill a bit. This is gonna get messier than expected. The redheaded pistolier uses the recoil from her first shots to try to plug four at once, taking advantage of her speed to try to even the odds down a bit.

One of the Mafia guys pulls out a big Bowie knife and turns around, surprised to see the little ninja girl behind him. "What the." He advances on her, clearly knowing how to use his knife. "Gonna cut you up, girlie," he says, having shrugged off one of Vera's bullets as if it was a pitball. He's feeling like Superman!

Surprised by Nel's clever counterattack with her monosword, the thug takes a wound on his arm. "What the -fuck?-" he protests, utterly surprised at the oddness of the Quadruple Ninja Assault.

The shootout starts geeting bloody and deadly as mutiple wounds start to break out. Fortunately, the camo suits prevent any bleeding outside of them, to leave messy evidence. Who knew ninjas had such a good thing going!

Leaping out from her hiding place, Ninja 2? lets out a rebel yell and lights the place up. With quick bursts from her two uzis lighting up the dark tunnel, Ninja 2 sends brass flying everywhere as she fills the tunnel with lead. "Yaaaaaaaaaaa!" she cries out, feeling badass as one of the thugs shoots her in the stomach, the bullet being absorbed by her ninja suit armour, but leaving a horrible bruise beneath.

Nel is quite surprised at the agility and skill of the gangster she engaged. She had not expected to get cut, but the wound she acquires across her hip is slight at best, so hardly hindering. It seems to inspire her to fight harder if anything.

Taking a couple shaky steps back, the guy that Luck had carved with his polearm opens up with his pistol, backing up to the wall in panic, but his aim is admittedly true!

«Auto-Judge[]» Luck (#3691) rolls Body vs TN 4:
1 2 2 2 3 4 4 5 7 = 4 Successes

«OOC» Luck believes she took an L last night, so I'm at 4/10 physical.

The combat seems to have devolved very quickly into an individual melee, though Nel standing up at the rear seems to manage to hold the enemies in, as they can't just run past the young lady with the sword. Meanwhile, Vera, Matija, and Luck are all in the thick of it, shootin' and getting their asses all shot up. One of the thugs goes down under the hail of bullets, and several are now badly injured, however, though the courier is unhurt.

«Auto-Judge[]» Vera (#11342) rolls Initiative with a result of 26.

«Plot» Vera says, "Updated Order: Vera, 22, Thug D 20, Luck 18, Thug E 17, Thug B 12, Matija 11, Nel 11, Courier 11, Thug A 8, Vera 12, Thug D 10, Luck 8, Thug E, Thug B, Matija 1, Nel 1, Courier 1, Vera 2.""
«Plot» Vera says, "We are now at Vera 12"

Vera turns her attention on the courier, who'd shot her, her pistols opening up as she rapidly turns to the SMG and briefcase wielding man, determination in her eyes as she tires to fight back the pain and keep herself on target.

Getting shot is not fun. Very not fun. Luck had taken a bullet to the thigh, and… Well, thankfully it wasn't the knee. She'd have to become a guard if that happened. You know what they say about projectiles and kneecaps, after all. Thankfully, this wound - while distracting - only proves to make her more lethal as she just gets… Angry.

The firefight would only take a heartbeat from an onlooker's perspective, but Vera feels like it's been minutes since the battle started. Heart roaring in her ears, the pain from her wounds screaming against her, bullets thudded into shoulders but at least stopped from her vitals.

«Auto-Judge[]» Luck (#3691) rolls Pole Arms/Staves + 4 vs TN 4 for "7/7 CP used, +2 wound -2 Reach advantage (2 vs 0)":

Bullet to the thigh? RAGE FUEL! Luck takes her polearm like a naginata and swings at the man's neck, with all she's got - like a hot knife through butter. The blade sears through and the man is left there, eyes wide, as his head slides from his shoulders. His body slumps to the ground not a second later, spilling blood forth, making a crimson puddle.

Matija's body shakes with the violence of her attacks, her two uzis lighting up the corridor with a strobe light-like effect as the tinkle of brass dances on the cement floor. Her first target explodes in a dark mist of fleshy lumps as his chest it torn apart, gurgling to his death as the ninja with uzis turns to the courier and stitches a trail over the walls and into his armoured coat.

«Plot» Vera says, "Continuing order: Nel (L wound), Courier (M wound), Vera (M wound), then new inits. Thugs B, C, D are dead. A (M wound), fighting Vera, and E (L wound), fighting Nel, are still alive."

Vera's pistols fire true as she aims, center mass on the target. Four through the heart isn't quite enough, but her shots do count, digging through the man's lined coat to lodge in his body, the man trying shakily to bring up his shotgun to counter…but then, falling forward. Collapsing.

«Plot» Vera says, "And you cut him apart! All is dead. Out of combat. Now to poses. Everyone is hurt, but not critically. What do you do?"

Vera sees Matija beginning to warm up some juju. "Wait!" she says. "We should pay for some healing. If you try to do it while hurt, you'll leave yourself hurt, and we'll be out of action," she says. "I think it's just better we pay for the first class service. In a clinic. Better places to heal than here."

Matija holsters her uzi and clutches her bleeding stomach. "No first aid?" she asks, confused as she heads back towards the car. "You've got some really strange ideas on how to do a run," she says, walking doubled over, hoping that Luck has the case in hand.

Vera shakes her head at Matija. "Oh, shake it off," she says. "It's not like you're bleeding all over the floor," she says. "You were…nnnh…wearing armor, weren't you?" she asks. "Look, if you want some Kamikaze or Jazz, I gotta hit. Let's get the fuck out of here, meet up with the smuggler…and…ah," She winces a bit, her bravado broken up a bit by her own pain, before she looks back at Matija. "We've got to get the heck out of here before the cops come," she says, pulling out a switchblade, a dikoted blade attacking to it. Bone and flesh are no match for the dikote, and the handcuffed briefcase is siezed, tossed over to Luck. All right, everyone," she says. "Let's get the hell out of here."

Luck looks to her thigh and then to the other wounded people, after pulling her polearm from the guts of the courier. "…Nah. Can't do that." She half-limps over to Nel, and picks the girl up. Then gestures to the suitcase. "Untraceable. Go to a clinic, whattya think they'll do? Fuckin' paperwork. We need magic, or a street doc. Can't go high-class shit on this one." She limps on after Vera, just following for now. "…Might take that Jazz, though. Heard it's got some aphrodisac in it. Might be fun."

"I…unnn…obviously didn't mean a -legal- clinic," says Vera," she says. "I know a real doctor who owes us a favor…or we could call our guardian angel. He'll take another five percent off the top, though, in addition to the five he already gets. Five percent for each service," she says. "I think we should go that route."

Meanwhile, the group reaches the stashed Americar. Everyone still able to move under their own power, it's easy to get in and meet Sara, to sneak back across the border back into the Warrens and Les!
