PacMan Drugs Are Bad

GM: Critter!
Players: Criticalfault!
Synopsis: PacMan hires Criticalfault to find out when some chemicals are being shipped into Denver!

Through the Matrix a message filters through, a Decker is needed to handle a simple job.

Its supposed to be an easy datasteal, but the potential is open for work in the future. For now

the initial job isn't going to pay all that much. The meet is to be held in the Matrix in the bar

called Vicky's, the person answering should look for a PacMan persona.

Getting the call Criticalfault answers with a matrix mail back to the source. It simply

reads, "I'm in.". Critical then rips out a SAN access portal and steps in, appearing with

Vicky's. He looks around and quickly finds PacMan and walks over to him, "I can get behind the

old school. Whats your needs Power Pellet Man?"

The effect is sort of like a poorly dubbed film. PacMan's mouth moves and makes a

mangamangamanga sound and the words come out completely at their own accord. "Well as you know, I

like my power pellets. So, I am looking for the shipment information from a company called

ProLight pharmaceuticals. They're supposed to have a shipment coming in sometime this month and

I'd like to know when, and what route."

Grining forms from Crit's standard UML icon for a restroom male symbol covered in error

codes. "Absolutely, this is something I can do to get you back on the white stuff. You got a LTG

or need me to do some diggin my yellow man?"

Blue ghosts cycle around PacMan's shape, his mouth gobbles the air without moving until

he catches one. He then makes a pa-TOO sound and the ghost splatters on the table taking the form

of a hypercard of information The ghosts change back to colors showing that Inky is the one that

got the business. Then they fade away. PacMan says, "That's the LTG for the place, but I can't

get in so I put the word out. You get the info, I'll toss you jobs when they come up. I'm giving

you 10K for this job. 5K for the info, 5K for exclusive rights."

Criticalfault smiles widely, "Absolutely, exclusive rights, the data and the run are all

yours my man. I'll get back in time for drinks." He snatches up the card and slides it into his

throat which appears to have go into some kind of card reader. He reaches forward. Spilling from

his hand comes the form of a 8bit portal. He steps inside and disappears into the RTG.

You go to the LTG and in short order you are outside of the host for ProLight

Pharmaceuticals. The host takes the shape of a man's head, rendered in digital. The smooth

hairless scalp shines like fresh chrome. Eyes remain closed as if a giant is resting just above

the sea of information.

«Plot» Critter says, "OK roll your Computers (Decking) at T# 10 - your Deception."

Looking around Crit seems a little unsure of what to do but he produces a massive key

with teeth that seem to keep shifting and slots it into the Head's nose, turning it trying to

access the Host.

«Auto-Judge[]» Criticalfault (#6325) rolls Computers (Decking) + Hacking Pool: 3 vs TN 4 for

"Deception 6- Login Host":

4 11 13 = 2 Successes

«Plot» Critter says, "You're in big guy!"

With a few slick lines of code the Head opens its eyes and then the mouth draws open. It

feels like a digital wind drawing you in as the giant inhales a wave of information into its

darkened maw. The mouth closes and inside you find yourself in an office. The receptionist seems

a little too busy at the moment to notice you.

Taking a look around Critical decides its time to get right to work. He moves over toward

the receptionist and begs her attention ot his plea, "I need to know where delivery records are

recorded." He removes a small firefly and lets it float before him, his browse program getting

ready to fire.

«Plot» Critter says, "Roll your interrogation test."

«Auto-Judge[]» Criticalfault (#6325) rolls Computers (Decking) + Hacking Pool: 6 for "Searching

for the delivery based on standard search (Not totally specific, not vague)":

The recptionist looks distracted by the firefly. Her eyes track towards it and the phone

rings but is not answered. She gestures to her left and she says, "That information is down the

hall to the right." At first there is no hall, but once the words are uttered the hallway

appears. Its long and mirrored looking like it spreads out to infinity.

Nodding with a grin, Critical zips down the hallway with speed that only a decker can

manage. He begins rapid firing querying each object he comes until he finally finds the one that

the firefly circles around.

Copy after copy of Crit's persona can be seen flying down the hall. At the end a red

door appears on the right side of the hall. The door is marked, "Access Only." A doorknob rests

on the left hand side of the door.

Reaching back into himself he grabs the long toothed key and whispers code into it. The

teeth shifting once more rapid fire lengths and amounts. He slides the key into the lock under

the doorknob and gives it a turn.

«Plot» Critter says, "You login, but you only got two successes. Close one!"

As the 'key' is inserted into the host, the black letters of the sign spread like ink

until eventually the door disappears. Inside the hallway is a vast library of files. Librarians

wander along the stacks pulling books then zipping off at the speed of thought. Others blur into

perfect position to place a new book on the shelf.

Scanning around Critical decides now that its time to actually find this file. He opens

his hand palm up and lets the firefly float up into the air, "Find me the file that contains

information on the delivery for this month, its exact time and exact route" He waves the flyfire

into life to find his file.

One of the librarians stops what she's doing and she turns towards Critical. She slides

towards him across the floor, her flesh turning black as tar. She glowers and makes a shhhhhhh

sound, clawing at his persona.

Looking over at the librarian Crit blows her a kiss and then dives into another librarian

hijacking her CPU stack position trying to confuse the IC of his location.

«Plot» Critter says, "What do you do? What do yoooou doooo? :)"

«Plot» Critter says, "Okay, roll your evasion!"

«Plot» Critter says, "Comp (Decking) test."

«Plot» Critter says, "Oops, just your deck's evasion. You don't get off that easy mister!"

With a angry Shhhh the librarian wanders around the area Crit used to be. She seems to

be searching the stacks for him. Maybe he's been filed under D for DOOOMED.

«Auto-Judge[]» Critter (#10251) rolls 3 vs TN 6 (to no one) for "Find the decker!":

The firefly seems to be onto something. A little lightbulb appears over its head. The

little bug then zooms off leaving a well lit, and lasting, trail for Crit to follow. It stops at

a blue book, doing loops around it as the book pulls back from the shelf.

Still within the librarian, he forces the icon to grab the blue book and open it. Then

finally laying a palm on the book and absorbing the information.

«Plot» Criticalfault says, "Download file Operation, R/W verses Files"

«Plot» Critter says, "Go for it."

«Auto-Judge[]» Criticalfault (#6325) rolls Computers (Decking) for "Download File! I/O speed

«Plot» Criticalfault says, "Okies! Once i get a pose, i'll do another browse for some paydata

and take off"

«Plot» Critter says, "You bet."

The book falls off the shelf and in mid air it disappears. The information it held

absorbed into the deck's storage memory.

Crit forces the librarian icon once more toward the stacks as he now searches for another

delivery.

«Plot» Critter says, "Okay, you can do another search :)"

While he is able to grab a few juicy files, the Librarian takes notice and grabs hold of

Crit. Another starts rushing in his direction carring a wooden ruler with spikes driven through

it. Looks like he's in for a spanking if he doesn't get out of there soon!

where he used to be "End of Line."

«Plot» Critter says, "Good job, closing the log now!"

«Plot» Criticalfault cheers, "Good times!"

«Plot» Criticalfault says, "Thanks for being #2 for running a matrix plot!"
