Only A Game 3

GM: Shoeshine
Players: Diego, Flyboy, Azul
Synopsis: This is a continuation of the ongoing approved plot where actual shadowrunners enter a 'shadowrunning game' to 'test' it. The game has real consequences, as Azul nearly discovers. This session imagines an assassination run related to the meetings in the clinic room of the Bare Knuckle Gym that 'Brother Mouzone' was holding; except here he is replaced by 'Brother Love,' an oleaginous character from early professional wrestling.
Date: September 17, 7073

The sun's gone down on a Friday night and it's party time for most. That is, party time for party people, wage slaves who've worked the week away and are now looking for a chance to relax. For other kinds of people, special kinds (and I'm not talking the short yellow bus kinds, unless we have some trolls on the mission) things are just picking up. Or at least they should be. But all the action has to do with high-end corp stuff and Renraku Samurai strike teams and the fixers say something about some 'runners blowing in from out of town and taking all the hot jobs and if you wanna, we have an infiltration run to break into an office and steal the optical chip from their security cameras to clean up after the high end guys? Drek that.
So there this dwarf called Shoeshine that does some Johnsoning on the side, has an in with a few people for being dumb enough to take their missions and occasionally survive. Word is that he's got another run lined up, and to get in on it, you go to the rent-an-office compled down on Sutter street, CAS sector, C zone. Equipment: light, is the word.

Diego packs light, though he does have a few larger toys hidden in the concealed compartment of his car. He makes his way to the meet, parking a few blocks away and releasing his sparrow drones. He also moves his ghost over the area, a ruthenium blimp with insane sensors. After he is sure he has good visual on things, he gets out of the car and heads towards the meet, making his way into the rent-an-office.

Traveling light is easy enough when most of your stuff is in storage. Wearing a hugely oversized armored jacket, some jeans, and cracked brown leather boots (one with duct tape on it), Azul makes her way for the meeting place. Blue-Black hair is tied back into a couple of hasty looking pigtails, and her hands stay in the pockets of the big coat.

Flyboy shows up wearing his only suit of clothes and carrying his every possession on his person, most of which is well concealed. Whether the Browning Ultra holstered down the small of his back counts as 'light' is purely subjective, but you'd have to give the little guy a grope to find it.

The complex is built along medical office lines and indeed, most of the other doors look to be advertising those services - podiatrists, dental clinics and the like. The door that was instructed for entry, however, reads 'GameStart,' and that's where Shoeshine will be when he opens the door for you all. A dapper, young (barely twenty), thickly built dwarf wearing a suit calls out, "Here they are!" to the back room, and another man says, "I've got sync, I'm ready for them." So Shoeshine will usher you all to what looks like a slightly modified medical office, with five high-grade matrix chair set-ups, like the kind that high end deckers and riggers might use - and rich people, because these have induction rigs.
The man that Shoeshine called to is also there - a middle-aged fellow, human, receding hairline, who looks you over and smiles winningly.

Diego nods his head to shoe as they enter, though he does not give any smiles or indication he is pleased by seeing the dwarf. He looks around briefly, then moves over to one of the chairs to sit. "I see we are going to be playing games again."

Shoeshine nods to Diego, who has heard this before. "Hi! I'm Shoeshine, and this is Piotr Mobydeux." The man takes over with, "I design matrix games, amongst other things, and as I've explained before, I'm working on an honest-to-goodness realistic 'Shadowrunner' game! Where, just like Karl Kombatmage and others, you take jobs, infiltrate corps, and have heroic battles against the forces of evil! And yes, we're moving into the early beta testing phase now, I'd like to see how it interacts with different kinds of real, honest-to-goodness shadowrunners. Are you interested?"

'GameStart'? Interesting. Moving in after the others, she gives Flyboy a small smile when she recognizes him. "Gaming? I'm down." A fledgling decker told to play a game? Of course Azul is counting herself in!

Flyboy hangs back, watching the others file in while taking the opportunity to eyeball the individuals as they go through the door. Azul's greeting smile gets her a curt nod. When he moves through the door and gets Piotr's spiel, his mouth curls into a distasteful grimace. "I don't care what you want me to do, as long as you don't skimp on my pay."

Diego looks to the Jay. "Have you done any balancing since last time? Or are you still sticking with real world physics models?"

Mr. Mobydeux answers Flyboy with a big smile and says, "Ah, classic! I wish I'd had trideo going for that." Shoeshine cuts in to answer, "It's twenty kay per person to run the mission and properly test the scenario. I'm standing by here to provide medical support." Mobydeux goes on to answer Diego, "Somewhat. We've been working to counter the power of the unlock system with some elements of real-world consequences. The earlier missions ended very easily and lost that element."

Diego narrows his eyes "You mean our previous endeavors will have consequences now, like perhaps having someone on a police watch list?"

Mobydeux says, "Only within the game, I assure you. I believe that this mission doesn't end unless you make a 'clean getaway…' you must escape in such wise that you can't be followed. And if you are seen, it may have consequences in future play."
Mobydeux throws up his hands. "But why am I telling you this! We have a perfectly good coded Johnson inside the game to talk to!"

"Twenty large? To test a game?" And it sounds like there's bumps in the road, too! "Must be an important game." Blue mutters, finding a spot to settle in and get comfortable. "Important and /interesting/." Perking a bit as the explaination goes on, she asks curiously. "Are we really talking about some sort of training sim for 'runners?"

Diego turns looking to Blue and Flyboy. "It will make you bleed, it will cause more damage than any Black IC you've ever met." He looks back at Mobydeux. "I have no idea how he does this with tech, but he does, and it almost reads your mind, mimicking even magic and astral abilities." He then looks back to Blue, "You die in the game, someone will be trying to keep you alive outside it." He head nods towards Shoeshine.

"So," Flyboy murmurs, "I don't have any skills with this junk," he waves a grimy hand at the big matrix chairs. He beetles his brows at Diego's remarks, but leaves it there.

Shoeshine preps his Savoir medical kit, ready to go to work on any of you who might start to fibrillate. If everyone is willing and the price is right, he and Mobydeux will usher you to the chairs. They have fittings for 'jacks and they also have induction helmets, which Shoeshine will helpfully fit. "Is everyone ready?"

Azul frowns, eyebrows scrunching as she absently rubs the cemented ports of her chipjack. Almost as if they itch. A faint sigh and she moves to one of the seats and nods. "Ready as I can be." Worried now that it seems less like a 'trix jaunt and more like a 'real' run.

Diego nods "Ready." He gets comfortable, but goes for the trodenet, since he has no visible datajack.

Flyboy drags his feet a bit, evidently not liking the scenario but liking the idea of walking out on twenty kay even less. Eventually he selects a chair connected to an induction helmet and, if Shoeshine tries to help, irritably waves him off. He's cautious about inspecting the interior of the helmet, even running his fingers around the interior, before he gingerly lifts it up and settles it onto his head. "Punk rock," he mutters as he settles into the connected chair. "Let's do this."

And with everyone either jacked in or induction helmeted, Mobydeux hits a button and senses swirl away. The real world becomes distant, for the three of you to find yourselves standing in a dingy pool hall. The sound of a white noise generator from the smoke-filled back room beckons; while seedy-looking chain-smoking elves and humans shoot pool and otherwise ignore the lot of you.
In the back room is Mr. Johnson. Severe. Sparse. Spare. His mouth; a line, lips bleached to ease their redness. His flesh is an albino white. He is the suit he's wearing, Armante of course and perfectly fit to his above average human height. Slim black tie over white, pale onyx cufflinks. Exquisitely creased pants. Shoes so free of adornment the ground deigns not to soil them. A briefcase, of course. He opens it to reveal a holoprojector when you all have entered and shut the door behind you. It shows two things: a short, squat human man with the greasy look of your favorite televangelist; and a short, squat faux-brick warehousey building - some detail of other buildings around it in faded relief.
Mr. Johnson says, "This man is worse than any Alamo 20,000 minion, worse than any Universal Brotherhood wannabe. His acolytes call him 'Brother Love.' He is scheduled for a meeting with his top crew several blocks from here, in the back room of this building. Kill him, and as many of his minions as you can."

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "When you woke up in the pool hall, you were attired with all the equipment that you, your character, possesses in the real world that they would take on a combat mission in the Warrens. THAT CAN BE PURCHASED BY A STARTING CHARACTER. For Flyboy, who I don't think has had much chance to buy things after character generation, he just sees what he would expect to have. Azul is pretty similar. Diego finds his equipment drastically reduced, however, he sees a chest over the corner, past the Johnson, and he knows it carries one singular object of his desire. One 'unlock'."

Used to the disorientation of 'waking up' somewhere else, Blue takes a moment to soak in the atosphere of the bar and the backroom. Studying the Johnson, she considers the front of the building and arches an eyebrow. "Just a murder spree?" she asks. "We're not looking to impliate, incriminate, question or otherwise manipulate the targets?"

Mr. Johnson presses his lips together. "That man is the representative of humanities' most murderous ideology. He cannot be implicated or incriminated, and no one needs to question him. He must be stamped out."

Flyboy lets out a low chortle as the Johnson lays the cards on the table. "I haven't had anything like this since they yanked my simrig," he says cheerfully, but then sobers as he looks around. "How do we know this mind-reading shit isn't just profiling us? This cat could be cataloguing us; biometrics from the chairs, tactical capability from the playback…" He turns back to regard the face in the holo-image.

Diego nods his head. "What's the pay, and how do we collect it when it's over? Do all his minons need killed?" He then looks at Flyboy. "You don't, just play along, but remember you are being watched."

Azul falls quiet after Flyboy's mention of being scoped out and analyzed. Wrinkling her nose at the idea, she's content to let the more experienced killers take the lead on this one.

Mr. Johnson says, "The pay is twenty thousand nuyen, and of course, another portion of access to the 'special equipment' that I am able to provide. However, we will not be able to arrange a pickup and payment until we are sure that you have lost all pursuers. Our operatives here in the Aurora Warrens dare not enter a 'hot' situation. Once you have successfully lost all pursuit, hopefully without your identities being known, we'll send a van to your location for pickup and payment."

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Mr. Johnson doesn't seem to react to Flyboy's 'out of character' comments about the world outside the game."

"We have building schematics?" Flyboy adds to Diego's query. "We know where the mark's going to be, what kind of security we're up against, what kind of arms and skillsets we're going up against?"

Mr. Johnson says, "That's for you to scout out." He waves his hand on the motion-sensor of the holoprojector, and it shows a map - your current location, and about 8 city blocks away as the crow flies, the target warehouse. It's immediately clear from the map that it's an overhead shot of the Aurora Warrens. You can see the Rez, and Orktown, the blasted-out Warzone, and so forth. for someone like Diego, who owns a blimpdrone, that much is easy to pick out.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Down to TN 10 perception for Diego to figure out where he is now, and where the target is."

«Plot to Diego» "Adding the map and the obvious clues you've been given; you are now in Angel's Delight Pool Hall (the lampshades and fixture were different and the pool tables are set out wrong but the rest is the same). The target is the Bare Knuckle Gym, a squat faux-brick warehousey thing. The 'back room' is the clinic room on the ground floor there. You've heard of people having meetings there in fact."

Azul pats down the pockets of her jacket and comes up with a commlink. Tapping the pickup into place, she turns it on and drops the unit back in her pocket. "Looks like we have a pleasant stroll and a quick evac to arrange."

Diego nods. "I guess we better get started." He stands up, and moves to his chest, kicking it it opens up and a small image of a icon for a drone appears for a second then vanishes. Outside his Ruthenium Blimp drone comes into existance, and links up to his RCD network. He turns and looks at the others, and his face starts to shift and slide, becoming now just a random white guy, his skin actually becoming paler. "Let's get to work." He starts for the door, now disguised.

Flyboy doesn't need a second invitation, he turns away from the Johnson and follows Diego.

Azul falls in last in the line, waiting until they're clear of the Johnson's line of sight. Once out of sight, she offers up a potential code for their commlinks to be switched to, glancing between Flyboy and Diego to see if she's got the right idea after spouting off the code. "I don't know about you two, but I'm only ok in a fight. I can crack locks and infiltrate security systems, though."

Diego steps outside the Angel's Delight, thats where they are. He looks around, nodding to Azul. "No need to fight them head on really, I suggest we try to be clever. I'm tempted to just take care of the target and ignore the minons, he said kill as many as we could, not that we actually had to kill any."

Outside the pool hall is a reasonable facsimile of The Warrens - complete with gang lookouts on the corner, the occasional checkpoint where you are asked to 'pay a toll' for passage (you all have the minor cred on hand for such bits of friendly extortion) and the callings of the whores and the dealers. You start out southwest, and have to catty-corner north-east to get to the target. Looks like you were in the 'Holy Rollers' gang territory, and then in the 'Little Devils…' a much seedier place. And finally, about two blocks away from the target, you're in the 'Red Mist' gang territory.. they look less involved with whores and more with drugs and violence and car-theft. It does look as if at least part of the challenge will be not pissing them off such that they don't follow you in their own territory and screw your escape.

Diego uses his blimp drone to keep a view from overhead, and helps lead the group around as many obstacles as he can, even if it means climbing up a building or something. He switches on his ruth when it comes to that, then sends his plan over the comm. «I suggest we set fire to the building, when the target comes out, we shoot him and run. Sniper style. If a few minons die too, bonus.»

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Unless you have special fire-making technology, Diego, you know that modern building materials such as the ones you know are in use don't burn really well."

«Plot to Flyboy» 'The target building is a primarily ork and troll boxing gymnasium for the hardcore called 'The Bare Knuckle Gym'. At least that's what it is in the real world, and it corresponds to the map. they're supposed to have a 'back room' medical clinic, that's likely the back room the guy is in.'.

Flyboy pads silently along the road with the others, listening to them talk about the job at hand while he keeps a watchful eye out for signs of trouble. To say he's on high alert would be an understatement, in spite of the virtuality of the world.

«I dunno… Do we have any idea how many are inside?» Blue asks, then glances at Flyboy, thinking. "No idea what's on the inside unless we can case the joint. If I can patch into any sec they have, we can get eyes on them, but if you want to just flush the geese, that works to?"

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "So, are you all taking efforts to not be seen at all approaching the place, ie stealth? Are you 'acting casual' for a walk-by, casing the place? Kind of an Etiquette thing? Are you just sending the blimpdrone while you stay out of sight? Or something else?"
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "And you figure out that flyboy doesn't have a comm to link up with yours."

«Plot» Diego says, "First recon with the blimp from a distance with vision mag."
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "I will assume that you share information."

Diego looks at the images of the building. "Bare knuckle gym, it's a fairly sturdy building." He pulls out a small bug drone from his pocket, one for each of you. "Here, clip these to your clothing or armor, it lets me know where you are, see what you see basically, and even talk to you through it." He looks off for a moment. "Ok, we need to get someone inside the building, perhaps crawling through the ventwork?" He looks to Flyboy.

Flyboy pages: In the meat world, how many entrances are there to that clinic?
«Plot to Flyboy» 'One door, it is an enclosed room off of the gymnasium floor. By your excellent recollection, it shares a wall with the outside. So if the room is at the same place in the simulation as it is in the real world, you might cut through the wall if you were a cut through walls kind of person.'.

Flyboy reaches out to accept the item offered by Diego, and he leans over to tuck it securely into a moccasin top. The dwarf murmurs, just loud enough to be heard by his companions, "Most secure position in the gym is a clinic in the back, and if I remember right the only way out is right into the main room. Cover the front with extreme prejudice, open the back wall with ex-ex, bathe in the blood of the heathens, and skip off through the garden." He pauses before concluding, "Probably wouldn't hurt to suck up to the local go-gangers, make sure the right grease hits the right palms so they're onboard with the ruckus. That's how we'd do it back home."

"Bare Knuckle? I know the place fairly well." Blue says softly, then nods, tucking the behind her ear to hide in the strands of hair and help hold them out of her face. "Do we have any Exex?" Azul checks her pistol, where she usually has APDS, but here it is ExEx."

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "ExEx, in and of itself, will take some doing to get through that wall, if it can at all, so you know. Probably multiple full-auto bursts might open up a hole."

Diego shakes his head. "What if they just hole up inside until they call in for help. Realistically they can't stay in there forever, he has to leave sometime. We could just wait him out and kill him as he steps outside. I'd still like to get eyes inside the building to know when he moves so we can be ready."

It seems the trio should have reached the target area by now, so Flyboy ducks down an alley and plants his shoulderblades against a wall. "First thing is to make contact with the powers that be," he mutters.

Azul rubs absently at the sealed chipjack slots again and sighs softly. "Safe to assume you two know your way around a gun pretty solidly? Cause, if so, I probably ought to go play bait, right? Skills where they're needed?" Disliking the idea, but sort of resigning herself to the role of patsy.

Diego looks to the others. "I can talk to the Red Mist, but the question is what are we truely wanting here? What sort of plan are we going for? I'm not going to just walk in guns blazing, that's suicide."

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Gasp! A shadowrun where going in guns blazing is a bad idea! I never heard of such a thing!"

"There are a dozen ways to skin this cat," Flyboy answers Diego with a flat, hard stare. "You already heard my version. Don't like it, I'm all ears. Just because I'm short, though, don't mean I enjoy crawling through ducting like a fuckin' rat."

Azul rubs her temples, squinting faintly as if fending off the beginnings of a headache. "Why not do all three? Have someone here, someone talk to the Red Mist, and I can go in to scope the place out? I've got my pistol if I need anything. And luck. I have tons of that."

Diego nods, "Fine, I'll talk to the Red Mists. You two pick whatever role you want, I'll keep the red mists from interfering if I can. Perhaps….Perhaps even more than that. Give me a few." He looks over the display from his Drone, and picks out what would look like a Red Mist commander/leader/ect. He then heads in that direction, walking casually.

"So," Flyboy says quietly as he watches Diego walk away, "What do you have in mind for this casing job?" He strolls casually to the end of the alley and looks off toward the target building, a couple of blocks down. "I don't really like the idea of bluffing my way in there, if these guys are who Jay says they are."

One presumes that the lookouts can talk to higher ups, and so Diego can head over to the lookout, a late-teen human with an AK-97 he probably can't use very well and a cheap-ass radio he can call for help on. Seeing a possible opportunity for graft or making a sale, he greets with that kind of insouciant smile that says, hey, I'm still on guard, chummer.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "From two blocks away, and by doing a lot of walking, you can confirm what the images from the blimpdrone said. The front door isn't locked. People go in and out, mostly orks and trolls. There's no back door. By angling right, you can even see inside, though on a limited angle. It is in fact a gymnasium inside, although the angle is wrong to see the interior room."

Azul shrugs faintly, looking uneasy. "Doing what I do best? Getting into mischief and weaseling my way out of it." Teasing the halfer, given how they met. "But, really, going over, knocking on the door and smiling seems a good way to at least get a glimpse inside, right?"

Diego smiles to the kid, reaching to shake his hand, and slipping him a pouch of bliss, high quality stuff. Then he casually waits to speak to someone with some authority, willing to wait for as long as is necessary.
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "So, giving him drugs without speaking? Or do you engage in standard pleantries before then and this is a bribe after you have established your desires?"
«Plot» Diego says, "Pleasantries with the lower ganger, the lower ganger gets the drugs to get a higher ganger."

After the usual pleasantries and the bribe (and a discreet sniff of same) the ganger calls up his higher-up and lets him know there's a strange guy here, probably a 'runner, looking to do some biz. After a few minutes, a slightly more competent guy shows up, with furrowed brows and mirrored sunglasses. His AK-97 is chipped to the sunglasses quite obviously, and his colors are in good repair. "Whatcha up to, hoss?"

Diego inclines his head. "Good evening sir, I'm curious if you have an arrangement with the fellow holding the meeting over there." He gestures down the street towards the target building. "I would never wish to cross the Red Mist, so I thought it wise to ask first."

The skilled ganger says, "We got an arrangement with the owner of the building. He does us favors, we let people go to and fro. He stays good for our biz, we stay good for his biz. Null sheen nobody bleeds. Got it?"

Diego nods "The owner of the building? Good. How much to hire you to kill everyone at that meeting as soon as they 'leave' the building." He smiles politely.

The skilled ganger says, "Outta your price range," which is a ganger way of saying, "Flat wetwork is not our biz, and the way that you asked for it makes me suspicious." "If you just want us to keep out of the way of your op, you paid the toll."

Diego nods to the ganger., then turns and starts to head off, though when he hits an alley out of sight he will stealth/ruth his way back ot the building.

Flyboy spends some time meandering back and forth, getting a look at the target building, and then finally ducks back into the alley and extracts that big-ass pistol, made ridiculously oversized-looking in his hand by the silencer attached to the barrel, from under his coat. He slides the magazine out, then ejects the round in the chamber, and reloads with a clip of ex-explosive. "You need party favors?" he asks Azul. "I have spare."

Azul chuckles softly, opening the armored jacket and taking the time to screw a silencer onto the end of the modified Predator III before tucking it back into the quickdraw holster and out of sight under the huge jacket. "I wouldn't be a very good partier if I didn't bring a lil somethin' somethin' for the host." she murmurs, then smiles faintly. "I'll be back in a few. Bug-boy'll know what I'm up to and keep you in the loop, I'm sure."

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Diego! Concealment on your bug-drone?"
«Plot» Diego says, "Bumblebee drone. 10 cm long, perhaps 3 cm wide. Wings laying flat. Signature 12"

"Got it," Flyboy answers Azul, and then as he re-conceals his own pistol he steps out of the alley and heads a block down before turning to come up on the target building from the rear.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Flyboy, Stealth! Azul, what are you doing?"
«Plot» Azul says, "Praying."

No one stops Azul. the door is 'closed' but you've seen any number of people pull it open by the handle. Up close, it's big - trolls walk through it easy enough.

Taking a big breath, Blue does what Blue's do best: she opens the door and tries to walk right in.

It's just as easy as walking in a door. Blue's in fact been in the Bare knuckle Gym no earlier than last night, so the thing that startles her is… that the gym equipment is in the wrong place. And the counter where the razorboy hangs out, that's actually a little ways, like ten feet, in front of the door just like it would be on a normal gymnasium, you walk in, you check in with the attendant. The razorboy is older but of clearly italian human extraction, he has a nice-looking shotgun on a sling, and a moustache, and a professional-looking jacket. He takes a moment to double-take at Azul, then smiles and says, "New here? Can I help you?"
It would be wise to immediately add - there are about ten assorted orks and trolls working the machines, and some of them have pistols. Some wear armored jackets or vests, some just gym clothing. No one is fighting in boxing ring. The clinic door is right where you expect it to be, and standing at attention, Colt M22A2 in hand, is a tall orkish figure, wearing uniform-like armor, clearly guarding that door, which is closed.

The razorboy's eyes flick to the location of Azul's concealed weapon, and he just smiles like that is all that is right with the world. "Sorry there, doctor is out. He comes back tomorrow, nine AM. Clinic is being rented out rest of the night. I hear there are some clinics working just off The Rez this time of night."

«General Plot Description» Flyboy and Diego both look around and over the building in various ways to try and fund some kind of unguarded entrance or vent. They discover that the place is three tall stories high, or maybe two spacious stories for trolls. No large windows or vents, just a few tiny squares to let light through and a few grillwork vents the size of a hand that only someone who could shapeshift into a rat could get through. They ask in various ways over and over and discover, over and over, that there is one entrance and one exit, the front door, just like the Bare Knuckle Gym on the grid. (Although they don't go into the sewers and try to come up through the toilets.)

Azul pooches out her bottom lip ever so slightly. "Bugger. I heard the doc working here was trustworthy, you know? Also heard this is the best place in town to break a sweat. What's a girl gotta do to get a membership?"

Handmade moccasins must be hand wound by the adept himself from a single strip of real animal hide and fashioned to form fit about foot and ankle.
Winding is an Average Test (TN4) of "knots and Bindings" with a base time of 20 minutes. Replacement cost for moccasin material is 0.25 x the cost of Real Leather Clothes (avail unchanged).
When new moccasins are wound for the very first time, bonding them requires wirewalking (on a surface of 3cm or less wide) for a total distance of 10 meters. Wirewalking is an Athletics.Gymnastics test at TN5, +1 for every centimeter of width under 3. Wirewalking begins at a base time of 2 minutes per meter travelled, with additional successes providing additional distance in the same time. 1 success is sufficient to travel 1 meter in 2 minutes. It does not matter how high off the ground the wire (or other narrow surface) is.

It's really a shame he got past the Red Mist lookouts - that means there's nobody to see a performance worthy of the best circuses on earth. After approaching the rear of the gym building Flyboy mills around a bit, eyeballing the structure critically, and then he gives a couple of energetic hops before he steps up on the wall and sprints straight up. About halfway up, his little legs still churning at the air, he catches hold of an abutting grill over a tiny vent and uses his grip to swing his body up and out from the wall. Curled into a ball, the dwarf spins in midair and then slaps his moccasined feet back on the vertical wall and just keeps going. He races right up and over the edge of the roof, then stops to have a look around the new area.

The roof is flat, boring, and covered in tarpaper and gravel. That's just to prevent erosion, though, more modern materials are under that. To educated feet, it has the slightest hint of a slope so that water will run off of it. It has some of those little roof air vents that you would have to be shapechanged into a rat to get through.

«Plot» Flyboy says, "Any of those vents in a position implying they might lead into the clinic?"
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "the tiny vents are on the roof, which means they likely lead to the second floor first, which means they by definition don't lead straight to the clinic. Some might lead to an air-conditioning or venting system."

Flyboy paces around the rooftop, his leather-wrapped feet padding on the gravel surface without sound or even disturbing the loose rock. He heads to each edge, peering down the walls in search of any extraneous entrypoints.

It's strange - the place has only one entrance and one exit, unless of course you can shapeshift or turn into gas or something. it continues to have only one entrance and exit. It's almost like the owner of the place is familiar with shadowrunners and ninja assassins and the many modes of entrance and exit that they use, and has, years and years ago, designed it to have only one entrance and exit. But aren't people supposed to have at least two? Guess someone must have paid off the building inspectors.

Azul drops ten nuyen on the desk for the razorboy and smiles. "Do you have a place where I can change?" Asking directions like someone that's not been here before.

The shotgun-razorboy takes the cred and points right up the stairs to the second floor. "Locker room is right up there, women's on the left. We're wired into the old water conduit, too, so we have water pressure on the showers." Ah, luxury! The place also has cubbies on the ground floor for people to put their clothes in easy view.

"Sounds great." Crap. Heading up the stairs, Blue heads to the, likely, less used female side of the changing rooms. "Now what…?" she hisses under her breath, just loud enough the bug behind her ear can pick up her voice.

«Auto-Judge[]» Shoeshine (#844) rolls 1 for "The clinic is under the 1. mens room 2. sauna 3. hot tubs 4. men's showers 5. women's showers. 6+. women's room":

Standing in the women's room, Azul can hear the faint hum of people talking, occasionally with raised voices, through the floor. If she had enhanced hearing, she could probably make out the words.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "So you have a guy on the roof, a woman right above, and a sniper 150 meters away watching the front door. The bad guys seem none the wiser. The Red Mist ain't complaining, but they ain't doing your job for you."

Diego watches from the little screen on the side of his vision, kinda like google glass but a lot better. «We need to start a panic, tear up the pipes, start flooding the second floor so water fills the building. Shoot holes in the bottom of the hot tub.»

Flyboy heads to the front edge of the building's roof and, from there, has a long look around the streets and surrounding buildings. He knows the crazy tech guy's tracking him so he stands there, waiting for something like a signal that he's in visual.

Diego sends the same information to Flyboy…but via the small speaker in his drone. On very low volume..

When his sock starts talking to him, Flyboy jumps, startled. Then he leans down and plucks it from its hiding place, and after giving the thing a dubious inspection he holds it to his mouth and murmurs, "This thing work?"

Holes in the hot tub. Brilliant. This means getting wet since even high-V rounds don't get very far into water. "I hate you all…" Azul grumbles, digging a troll sized condom out of her pocket to wrap her gun with - tying it off neatly - before stepping into the hottub to put the muzzle of the silenced weapon against the bottom of the tub. Then it's just a matter of pulling the trigger until the water causes a misfire…

Diego responds to Flyboy. «Yes. It works, I can hear you and relay information for us. She is inside, I'm hoping she can flood the building.»

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "I will give you a perception check before you fire, Azul. Although I am delighted that you have a silencer. And that a troll-sized condom is in your standard equipment loadout."

«Auto-Judge[]» Azul (#7848) rolls Intelligence for "LL, EL, Mag3, micro":
1 1 2 3 3 3 5 7
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "At a TN 4 that's 2 successes. Azul, the hot tub room has a tile floor with a slight indentation and a drain in it, like most such rooms in the real world you've been to. How well does that drain work? I don't know, I'll determine it randomly. You look at the hot tub. It's not made of glass. It's some kind of plastic shell with faux-wood trim. Your gun will almost certainly put a hole in it, maybe even several, but you don't imagine a huge overflowing wall of water coming from it from a giant shattering. You imagine gunshot-sized holes slowly but unstoppably draining water, some of which will go into that drain."
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Again, this seems to be a plan more suited to high explosives. do you have an offensive grenade, perhaps?"

"If we can get hold of old newspapers or greasy rags," Flyboy mutters into the bug, "we could smoke them out. They built this place too tight for its own good."

Diego responds to Flyboy. «They have a hottub on the second floor….imagine the possibilities.»

Flyboy asks, "If this party's starting, did we sweep for cameras?"

Diego responds to Flyboy. «Not really, but any cameras here are only part of the owners, and likely inside. Outside cameras get vandalized.» Then he switches to comms for Azul. «Ok, here is an idea. Turn on every sink, every shower, shoot the toilets to make them leak….then go to the drains in the room on the floor, and shoot them. Then get the hell out fast after that. The building isn't going to have a wall of water, but it's definitely going to be highly annoying and likely break up the meeting quicker. This also likely gives you time to get out ahead of them.»

"How'd things turn out with the Mist?" Flyboy demands to know next.

«Azul modifies her action.»
Holes in the hot tub. Brilliant. This means getting wet since even high-V rounds don't get very far into water. "I hate you all…" Azul grumbles, digging a troll sized condom out of her pocket to wrap her gun with - tying it off neatly, spying the fill hose for the hot tub and catching the comms coming in before grinning. It's a bit of scampering to get every faucet in the women's room shooting water everywhere. Pipes are busted with silent shots to allow water to spray from the pressurized toilet pipes and out of the sinks onto the floor. Nothing says a good time like vandalism.

This is far more dramatically destructive than just popping the hot tub. These things are actually under pressure. Also, things like the toilets destroy in a much nicer fashion, being made of some kind of tough (but not bulletproof) ceramic, creating splash, wetness, sludge, and burble.

Diego responds to Flyboy. «They are paid to protect the building, but not really its occupants. They also said they cannot be bought to fight for us. Stupid game logic.»

"Great," Flyboy grunts. "So we're vandalizing the building. Did we talk to the owner and see if we could get everybody but the mark to clear out?"

Diego responds «No we didn't, and I'm pretty sure the game doesn't know the real owner, unless it's still the famous one from the past, the Pulse. But even then, he wouldn't sell out.»

Flyboy fishes under his coat and around his back and produces his pistol again, this time holding it low and close. The tracker goes back into the top of his moccasin, and he positions himself over the front door where he hunkers down to wait for action below.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Now the hard part - Azul, how do you escape before you get tied to the devastation and harshly punished?"
«OOC» Azul says, "carefully!"

With the water flowing hard and heavy, Blue heads for the drain, using the silenced, condomed pistol to blow a few holes through that pipe. Hope no one notices! Damage done as best she can, she tucks the gun away and heads for the stairs, grabbing her phone and mincing down the stairs as if in a hurry. "No, dad! I wouldn't dare slot another fucking chip! Don't you understand! I'm /clean!/" she yells into her phone as she scurries by, winking at the razorboy and rolling her eyes - after all, why else get her chipjack unplugged than to fill it back up with CaliHots and Beetles?
«Auto-Judge[]» Azul (#7848) rolls Etiquette:

The shotgun-razorboy is more distracted with the process of remembering what Azul told him when they first met and her showing off the glued-over chipjack than he is putting together the slightly strange sounds from upstairs which, after all, he has to hear around two corners and down several angles plus distorted by tile and the gunshots suppressed. While, when he sees the water coming down the stairs, he'll put two and two together, by then she'll be out the door and gone and he'll be too busy going to shut off the water and sop up the damage than he will be to go chase after her. Even Flyboy, from his looming, batlike posture up on the room can hear him cursing in Italian, long and loud.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "In the minute that passes, nobody comes out. You have, however, occupied the razorboy with the shotgun successfully. What next?"

Diego reports over the bug/comm. «Alright, thats going to make things interesting inside, but apparently wasn't enough to evacuate the building. Now, phase two. Any powerlines on the roof? Let's see if they like the dark.»

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Powerlines appear to be underground. Doesn't mean they can't be cut, just means you gotta find a sewer entrance and figure out where they are and where they lead."

Commlink-Blue> Azul says, "If they have a clinic they likely have a backup generator."

Commlink-Deuce> Diego says, "I'm open to suggestions on how to get them to leave the building. We could start shooting, but I'm not sure that would work. They may just bunker down."

Commlink-Blue> Azul says, "If the place is full of water… maybe something could be done to drop a hot powerline in the puddle?"

Commlink-Deuce> Diego says, "That would have to be done from inside."

As another minute goes by, it seems that the shotgun razorboy on duty has stopped continuing damage by the standard expedient of shutting off the water to the building. He'll be busy with cleaning up (and with cursing.)

Diego is sending his comm voice to just Flyboy's drone, low volume.

When nothing happens but some rather hilarious cursing, Flyboy stands up, steps up on the roof's lip, and then races face-down straight down the building wall. As he nears the halfway mark he reaches out to grab hold of another one of those protruding grates, he lets his feet off the wall so he can fall a few feet and arrest the drop by his arm, and then he slaps his feet back onto the wall and continues smoothly to the ground where he steps off. It's a terribly casual risk to life and limb and looks pretty effortless at the same time, and punctuates when he tucks his pistol into his coat and clenches it between his body and armpit. He turns to make a casual approach to the door, and speaks hoping the mic in his shoe catches it: "I'm going in here and doing this job the way we should have done it from the start."

Diego responds. «Hit and run, hopefully they will follow you out into my line of fire.»

Aww damnit. Removing the remnants of the trogger condom from her gun, Blue slips back around and tries to catch up to Flyboy - knowing what's in there and not wanting the halfer to walk in alone. Moral obligation, or something.

And there is no one there at the front desk to engage with Flyboy. Just a gymnasium floor with about ten normal dudes, some armed with pistols, some not, most murmuring among themselves about how they're going to get their shoes wet getting to their lockers and the people with the cubbies are the lucky ones. That ork sammy, the one with the assault rifle guarding the door to the clinic? He is totally alert, watching that door, eyes on the halfer.

A general huh-bub is raised. There's something to go look at even though it might not be real (come on, it is too good to be true) and they're in a building that is kinda flooding upstairs or something. Maybe today's the day to cut it short, get some rat-onna-stick, go watch the fun, maybe pick up some money. It's not instant, but about 8 out of 10 of the muscleheads hit the bricks. The two who remain are both hardcore, and their crap is upstairs.
Now, the ork guarding the door - he knocks back to the gang, interrupting their meeting. After a few seconds, they open the door a crack. A human face starts to talk to him - it is not the short squat, fat Brother Love face.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "By this point I am thinking Azul has returned to the door. Going in, Azul, which means the ork sammy would see you return, or staying just outside there?"
«Plot» Azul says, "With peeps clearing out, i'm going to wait a minute, so holding action."
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Rock on. Call it conveniently right outside the door. :)"

Azul slips up next to the door leading into the building, hanging out for the moment while the big blokes file out to go find money.

Flyboy turns his back to the guard at the door so his front is facing those two hardcores who hung back, and he tugs his coat open to display that silenced pistol pinched between his arm and his body. "What're you hoopers waiting for?" he asks flatly as he reaches across to grasp the butt of the gun, "Engraved invitations?"

However, the guy at the door has had enough of this escalation crap. "Enough. Get down, drop it," says the ork with the assault rifle. From the slight sounds, maybe from reflections in the chrome, he has shouldered his weapon and pointed it at Flyboy.

Hearing things start to shift in a negatory manner, Blue uses her hip to shove the door open as she steps inside. Bringing the silenced pistol up as she moves, it's a (perhaps) surprisingly fast and fluid set of motions that resolve themselves into a trigger squeeze. It's a solid shot, nicely placed… and yet the lead of the EXEX round just sort of splats against the ork's chest, the scorch of the 'explosive' aspect of the round just making her good aim (if lack of penetration), more obvious.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "A moderate wound! He is at 4 boxes. Pose, and then I have a pose for end of round."

It's like a deadly dance, trying to weasel around to a better angle on the ork while striving to keep him pinned down. Slinking along, Blue keeps up a steady stream of hot lead angled at the ork, getting a lucky round in whent he big brute shifts his weight. Tearing a fair sized hole in his thigh with explosive ammo, there's a faint smile that briefly tweaks up the corners of her lips.

And by now, the folks who have been having a meeting in that clinic room have finally gotten off their butts. Throwing open the door, there's four of them, behind some makeshift tables and medical equipment. And… there is no Brother Love. From the size of the room, there is only one place he can be - behind the open door, inside the room, hiding.

«Second Session»
«Plot» Shoeshine says, " To put it on the board, our inits are: Diego 30, Azul 21, Flyboy 13, Ork 10, and dudes inside go on 1. Recap:"

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "By dint of gunfire, Azul and Flyboy have forced the ork sammy with the Colt M22A2 with underslung grenade launcher to take cover behind the punching bags which are now riddled with bullets and leaking sand. They've even managed to wound him. That opened the path to the clinic door, which did finally open, revealing four human males having taken cover behind bits of clinic bracken and table, all with guns. Brother Love, the target, can't be seen in the room, so given its size there is only one place for him to be and that's behind the open door that opens into the room."
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Azul has worked her way into medium range, Flyboy started there and remains there, and Diego is still 150 meters away on a building."

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Diego, 30!"

Diego surveys the situation through his drones, but really can't think of anything for the team to do besides what they are doing now. He doesn't bother to distract them with conversation.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Azul! Remember, all combat pool has refreshed! His and yours."

Azul sidles around to keep something between herself and the people in the clinic. Not wanting to have to split attention to deal with the ork AND the mooks in the clinic, Blue is dead set on trying to take out the ork. "You don't have to…" A squeeze of the trigger punctuates the words, more explosive laced lead splatting against the ork's armor. "die for them." Trying to give him a way out and her one less problem to wrangle - even as she pulls the trigger a second time, once again decorating the ork's armor as he gets the punching bag more fully in her line of sight.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Flyboy!"
«OOC» Shoeshine debates movement and running and cover with Flyboy in pages.
«Auto-Judge[]» Flyboy (#10928) rolls Pistols vs TN 11: tn 5, vision mag and laser is 3, +4 cover is 7, +4 running is 11

The Flyboy, small-arms-marksman-extraORdinaire, leans far to one side and slaps his free hand on the floor to help launch himself into motion. He darts low and fast as he can from behind the rack of freeweights before turning to close the gap between himself and the assault-rifle-wielding ork. A snap shot from his pistol blows a little crater in the wall, wide and clear away from the target, but at least it reminds everybody Azul isn't the only one shooting.
Flyboy needs to addendum that he races behind other pieces of equipment, trying to keep cover.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "The ork goes in his only action this turn, on 10, already forced to use up his combat pool. He really has only one option - the underslung grenade launcher on the Colt M22A2. It does seem as if Azul is more dangerous, so he target its at her feet. Scatter direction 1 will be back to him. Scatter direction 3 will be in Flyboy's direction. Range is short. He is wounded. Somewhere in the getting shot, the ducking and the dodging, he tries to pull his grenade launcher online. Clearly the swinging sand-filled punching bag hits it, making the grenade sail way over to the left, hitting the ceiling. Azul can feel the rush of air (and of course the huge boom) but the shrapnel only spatters her with stinging metal as opposed to tearing her flesh.

Bullets stitch their way from hip to shoulder on the slender elf, shredding the oversized jacket and leaving blood soaking the layered material. Doubled over by the impact, Blue scuttles for more cover when shots start to ping off equipment near her. Pain filtering in as the initial shock wears thin, her hands shake and her palm is slickened with blood - doing nothing to help her aim as she does her best to keep the ork pinned down and cover her own ass.

Flyboy Squirrel keeps trucking right along, no speed demon but maybe he gets points for the sheer size of his acorns. As he passes a gap between a military press and a squat sled, he snaps another far-off-target round past the ork with the assault rifle.

The grenades arc through the air, and then impact on the wall of the clinic. BOOM! BOOM! Shaking the entire building a little, and tearing at brick and mortar to reduce the strength of the wall.

Free arm held across her body in a lame attempt to staunch the flow of blood from the trio of gunshot wounds, Blue doesn't even really try all that hard to hit the ork. Rather, she's just trying to keep him pinned down so a team mate can finish what was begun.

It's handy that the ork decided not to waste his time with such a small fry as Flyboy; the dwarf is able to run straight up to him, even behind that abused punching bag he's using for cover, and then Flyboy runs right up the side of the bag until he's at body-striking level to the bigger guy. One little fist whips out like a brick, impacting armor like a hammer, and the little guy drops back to the floor just in time to avoid the counter attack.

What is this, a boxing gym or something?!? That crazy dwarf runs up to punch him! Good thing the colt has a magazine capacity of 50 rounds or he'd be running low. Well, after he steps back and bursts into him (the first one gets fended away by pushing the barrel, but the second one not so much) he hopes he can put an end to this.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "On 1! All the cheeseheads go:"
It appears that Diego has finally gotten his wish! Oh frabjous day, the concept of some kind of grenade coming in through that hole is what motivates the people inside to run out. They tumble over one another like they're in a Keystone Kops show, bunched around the door… and yes, there's Brother Love, shorter than most of them, short, squat, and waddling. For those of you who have seen people get shot, they move around, they gyrate, they go into what doctors call 'agonic gasping.' These are signs that you can get to them with a medical kit, maybe help them out. But not here. Azul looks to stop stone cold dead.

«Plot» Diego says, "Holding to shoot Brother Love."

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Flyboy, second pass?"
«Plot After The Fact» We begin a little discussion of interception of movement and hand to hand and attacks of opportunity which will bear fruit later. For now, Flyboy keeps hitting.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Another light wound, he's at 8 boxes."

Flyboy looks pissed, and worse, wore out. He's been running, pounding on an immovable force, basically doing everything he can and still one of his own has been taken out of the equation. As his opponent attempts to rejoin his protectorate, the dwarf keeps pressing in close, hammering on his armored back.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "The ork doesn't 'have an action' though he is using movement this pass to back out of hand to hand to get to Brother Love. He would grab Brother Love and move faster, hauling him out through the door, but that takes actions. So they totter along at Brother Love's speed."

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Diego goes but they aren't at the door."

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Flyboy! The problem is that he's 8 meters away and you can't get up to him!"

«Plot After The Fact» This is where the discussion about interception and movement and hand to hand comes into play. If we had a battlemat, it might look like the ork sammy is just 'backing away' from Flyboy, not moving 'past' him the way it says on SR3 p108. But without a battlemat, we presume that there's been enough acrobatic jockeying such that the ork has to run 'around' Flyboy to achieve his desires. That means that he runs 'past' and Flyboy gets a free hit. Wisely, Flyboy chooses a knockdown attack to keep him from getting away.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Excellent! So as he tries to back away from you to get to Brother Love, he goes down! Now, on your actual turn, you can attack him while he's prone! You get a +2 even, which brings your TN down to 5!"

As the heavily-armored bodyguard grabs the package and makes a break for it, Flyboy ducks and steps inbetween his legs and then throws his arms and legs out to both sides. The ork wobbles for just a moment, then pitches over and hits the floor.

«Plot» On Flyboy's actual turn…. he kicks the ork while he's down.

1 1 1 1 1 2 3 3 7 = 1 Success
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "A moderate wound! You take him from 8 boxes to 11 and he is dead with your killing hands. (or killing boot or whatever is the motion of your desire. Pose it.)"

"Sweet baby," Flyboy murmurs as the ork falls over and the dwarf smoothly straightens to stand, "I'm gonna enjoy this." He takes a half-step forward, kneels down on the small of the ork's back, and delivers one good and solid blast to the back of the samurai's skull. The impact is like stepping in mud, squelchy and thick, and invites a little eruption of blood from a cracked cranium.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Meanwhile, it's Brother Love's turn.."

With shaky hands, Brother Love draws a bead on Flyboy - he's in motion, making it even harder. With even a glance, Flyboy can tell that the gun is Special. Engraved scrollwork. Pearl-handled. The hammer cocks back so smooth…

«Auto-Judge[]» Shoeshine (#844) rolls 2 + Combat Pool: 2 vs TN 7 for "tn 4 close range +3 wounds, not in hth because the ork didn't get to him":

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Brilliant! A Moderate wound, means you are at 9 boxes and still alive and up (and your wound pen is still +3)."

It's a solid hit, dead center on the thigh. But it must have gone right through without hitting the femoral, because that damn dwarf keeps coming.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Neither of you have further attacks this round. anything from you Diego?"
«Plot» Diego says, "Really can't help from here. Unless I have Azul's drone fly into his face."

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "He takes Light in a dramatic display of what covering your head with both arms and saying, 'Not the face!' can do."

Brother Love drops the hammer on Flyboy Squirrel, whose undersized body jerks with the force of impact even as low as he was hit. The dwarf stands up off the downed bodyguard and approaches the mark with blood dripping from his knuckles and a little squidge of gray matter clinging to the hair on the back of his hand. He limps a bit, but it's thankfully a short distance to where he can raise his fist over his shoulder and give the terrorist leader a vicious bitchslap.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "And Brother Love, on one!"
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "He attempts to move to Negotiation."

He says, covered with blood, battered to the wall, "Whatever they're paying you, I'll double it! I know who you're working for! They'll take the money and so can you!"
His eyes don't even flick to Azul's dead body, leaking fluids and going ashen grey.

Flyboy makes a thoughtful little moue with his mouth, bobs his head left and right as if weighing the pros and cons carefully, and then says, "Alright," as he reaches down to take the gun. "Come with me, if you want to live."

The drone on flyboy flits its wings for a second, apparently reminding him someone else is there.

Brother Love relinquishes it, in the full knowledge that you could punch him out before he shoots you in any case. "I have some of the cred here… and then we can arrange for the rest.." he says, moving with you towards the door.

Diego changes his command to his drone, just get a sensor lock on Love first. Hold on firing.

Flyboy ignores the activity of the flying drone off his shoulder, tucks his own Browning into the concealable holster at the small of his back, and as he accepts Brother Love's pistol with one hand he reaches down to get an arm around the guy with the other. Like a battlefield medic, he helps the mark limp on toward the front door. "When we get out here," he says, "You just need to sit tight, okay? I'll go pick up the ride… make sure there aren't any surprises waiting."

"I-I have a car we can get to…" says Brother Love. It's really quite a welterwork of blood and mess in here. To add, the razorboy with the shotgun is totally staying up in the flooded upstairs, and the two muscleheads who were trying to get to the door have hit the dirt and stayed there through all of this. And finally, they can get outside the mostly deserted street, and Diego's drone can get his sensor lock.

«Auto-Judge[]» Diego (#2074) rolls 10 vs TN 6 for "sensor lock":
1 1 1 2 2 4 5 5 5 7 = 1 Success

Once outside, Flyboy gingerly lowers Brother Love to a seat on the ground, near the curb where it's nice and open. The little guy is still limping himself, and the welterwork of colt slugs that tore up his body armor and torso is oozing from the strain of supporting the other man's weight. As he turns and starts to walk away, he unloads Love's revolver, shaking out the cartridges with a careless flicks of the wrist. He turns his head a bit toward the little bug on his shoulder and mutters, "He's all yours, omae."

«Auto-Judge[]» Diego (#2074) rolls 4 (pilot) + 4 (sensors) vs TN 3 for "Range short due to vision mag sensors 6. Stationary Target. Blimp Drone. 14S base Damage":
1 1 3 3 4 5 5 9 = 6 Successes

Diego chuckles, for a moment he wasn't sure what Flyboy had in mind. When the all clear comes in, he gives a mental command to the drone that's sitting with a sensor lock. Up at around 700 meters in the air, the ruthenium blimp makes a puffing noise from the silenced Ranger SM3. The AV round is meant for vehicles, but the sheer destruction on a lightly armored person is impressive. The bullet tears through the skull of Brother Love, and the man's body falls limply backwards.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "But not today. You two have already interacted with the Red Mist so they will not hinder your escape. You may move through the Warrens.
«Auto-Judge[]» Diego (#2074) rolls Magic for "Disguise for the facial shifting earlier, and for a new face now.":

Diego sends information to his bug drone. «3 blocks west, 1 block south. Regroup.» This is for Flyboy of course. Diego makes his movements through the alleys and using his ruth to keep out of sight. He waits to meet the remaining partner, his blimp drone moving slowly to keep visual on the area.

"Fuckin' A," Flyboy mutters when he feels the tiny patters of arterial spray from the high-impact behind him. "Jay'd better hope his little toy doesn't do any real damage to the lady." Job done, or all but, he breaks into a low-impact trot and ducks down a narrow alley. He'll wander around the back paths, go several blocks out of his way, cross over a low building or two in the process, and generally make sure only an aerial drone or a flying bloodhound could follow him, before he heads on to the impromptu rendezvous.

And when the two of you are a goodly distance away, you gradually get the sense that there's no one following you, and then you gradually get the sense that you are actually lying in the induction chairs, and Shoeshine has Azul rigged up heavy with the fully-deployed Savoir medikit. Concernedly, Piotr Mobydeux is watching a screen which gives some hint of your exploits as well as other data streaming across. Flyboy's wounds are still with him here - not bleeding, but his whole body aches and he definitely feels trauma whenever he moves.

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Azul, ready?"
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "All right! I told you you had one more die roll to make. It's a Body roll, TN 4, and you want at least 2 successes. If you get 0 successes, you lose an attribute point to permanent damage. If you get 1 success you lose a limb or organ. 2 successes, you are fine."
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "You could karma this roll but I think you are out."
«Auto-Judge[]» Azul (#7848) rolls Body vs TN 4:
1 2 7 8 = 2 Successes
«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Well done! 2 successes on the body check after being stabilized means you take no permanent damage."
«OOC» Azul says, "Oh thank god."

Diego opens his eyes, reaching up to remove the trode net. He looks over at Azul and Shoeshine working on her. He stands up, looking to Moby and waiting to see if he says anything.

Flyboy blinks awake, starts reaching both arms to remove his induction helmet, and groans quietly. He grits his teeth, then, and slowly lifts the contraption off his head. He sets it on his chest and keeps reclining there.

Mobydeux does look a little shaken. "This is the first.. casualty I've seen, though I heard there were others in testing. Uh.. speaking about the game.. you left your teammates' body bleeding out and didn't recover it. Isn't that supposed to be bad for your rep?" Shoeshine might unleash a withering look here but he's too busy with something called 'critical but stable condition.'

Diego looks to Mobydeux, "So your tech can heal? Thats amazing, you'll change the world with that. Why not market it as a miracle healing machine!" Heavy sarcasm.

"You put us up against a heavily fortified bunker with no tactical options but frontal assault, you fuckin' amateur," Flyboy's voice comes out barely above a whisper, but the snarl can still be heard in it. "Now pay me so I can leave before I show you what's bad for a 'runner's reputation."

Mobydeux doesn't seem to understand what Diego is saying because it's clearly Shoeshine doing the healing here in the real world. When he figures it out he mumbles something about stabilizing and 'Docwagon system' and something like that. In any case, he isn't slow with the credsticks, and passes them out to Flyboy and Diego. To Azul, he puts it in her pocket, but she can't be moved.

Diego looks to Shoeshine. "I suggest you find a mage who can heal to assist. Although it's not likely to work at all in the machine, it would do what you're trying much better. Shall I call my doctor? She is a specialist and has a healer."

Once possessed of certified credsticks, the dwarf lurches to sit up and turns his stare on Shoeshine and Azul. "Is she gonna be okay?" Flyboy asks, with the sinking undertone that says he knows it's a stupid question.

Shoeshine says, "She's out of danger but can't be moved for at least a while. She's heavily cybered, so it'll take a powerful mage to make her ambulatory. Who are you calling, if I can ask?"

Diego smiles "I keep the cyberork and the female doctor mage on retainer."
Diego says "If they arent available, I have others to choose from."

Shoeshine says, "They're a good start. If they have a clinic where she can rest a few days, that would be perfect. I can arrange secure transport."
Shoeshine glances to Flyboy, as if to ask him if his questions are answered, or if he needs more medical details.

Diego nods "They do. I've already sent a text, just awaiting a response."

«Plot» Diego says, "For plot purposes I'll be getting Alyse to meet us nearby to heal Azul and take her to the clinic if necessary."

Flyboy turns his stare on Mobydeux and the best description for that look is baleful. "Sorry to snap at you," he mutters. "Yeah, leaving a chummer to die is bad form. Leaving one cold and dead is only as bad as the corpse can lead authorities to the team, and the authorities you gave us weren't the kind to spend a mint interrogating the dead."

«Plot» Shoeshine says, "Excellent. We can track how much Alyse manages/wishes to heal and what payment she requests/requires. Azul is at 12 boxes, and you can find out her Essence and Bio."

Diego looks to Moby. "If you truly are making a game here, I suggest you alternate your current setup to instead send pain signals, but not do real damage. Otherwise you'll have to ignore magical healing in game."

Mobydeux says to Diego, "I'll get that back to the dev team. I was told they had implemented magical healing - I just haven't seen it used yet in these live tests. Clearly, I'll have to make completely sure of that."
