Killing a Killer
GM: Slinger
Players: Slinger (Johnson), Kelris, Orpheus
Synopsis: Ergash 'Tuskface' Zani-heru is not a nice ork. Of African descent,
he brutally murdered three Lone Star officers in cold blood,
off-duty, and raped one of them. He got off on a technicality, not
to mention a lawyer who claimed prejudice, and a bribed judge.
Dirty pool.

The cops want revenge on him, but they can't do it themselves. So
they end up hiring Shadowrunners. Slinger knows Bill Norman through
a friend of his, and carefully puts the deal together, throwing in
ten thousand of his own money to make it happen.

The runners check out Ergash's common hangouts, and end up finding
his drug dealer. After some brilliant threats and maneuvering, they
get Streetwize, Ergash's dealer, to send them to deliver some blow.

Upon arriving, the group proceeds to take down everyone except
Ergash's girlfriend, who, all things considered, is a relative
innocent. Ergash and his three ork cronies all wind up dead.

Part 1: Officer Johnson

Slinger still would have gotten word to Melissa, somehow, perhaps a mutual connection. The suggestion is to be at a certain apartment at a certain time, say, 6:30 PM this evening. And to take a few steps to conceal your identity and not alarm the Johnson.

Well anytime Slinger put a call out, Orpheus wasn't too likely not to be found in the wake of such a call. The Warrens he is somewhat familiar with actually.. Couldn't say he liked it, but there was frequently interesting things going on there at any given time.
Orph was good at concealing his identity though. Partly because he didn't really have one to begin with and also because he always traveled around with his ruth cloak on everywhere he went, blending with the shadows(as his name might imply).

«Auto-Judge» Melissa (#10582) rolls Disguise for "Trying to hide the tear tattoos underneath her eyes.":

«Plot» Slinger says, "Melissa had to bail for RL."

Orpheus arrives at the designated area on-time, of course.. He still has his ruth cloaked ON because he really doesn't want to be seen wandering around in the warrens anyways. Once he slips into the apartment, he does all the usual quick recon, scoping the place out and looking for whomeever it is hes suppose to be meeting.. It was probably no big deal, but you could never be too careful when meeting random Johnsons.. especially in such a crappy part of town..
The correct apartment is picked out from the others just before te door is seen opening, and closing by Kelris without a visible body passing through. He raises up a brow and steps up to the door, glancing around, and lifting a hand to give the door a knock. Now, since he's been advised the J's a little skittish, it's not a 'This is the police!' knock. It's a gentle rap-tap of his knuckles against the cheap synthwood frame. And he glances behind him a couple times, half expecting to get a knife in the kidney by whoever just entered, or exited the small home.

Kelris arrives to a room that isn't empty at all. Instead, there is a guy inside, nervously smoking a cigarette. In fact, it looks like he's not a very good smoker — he's holding it awkwardly, and he coughs slightly on the smoke as he exhales. The way he's moving, he's definitely nervous, definitely out of place — and definitely pissed.
He looks up at Kelris as she enters, eyeing her warily. The first thing you might notice about this man is his short-cropped hair. Military, or maybe even police. His body is hardened by years of physical training, and he has the look of a soldier, or once again, perhaps a cop. And he stares at her — until there is a knock at the door.

Slinger drops a line to Smoke about a job he has going down. Unfortuantely, Smoke seems to not be available, but he passes along contact information to Kelris. The offer, as well as the one for Orpheus, is to meet in a rather run-down apartment in the Warrens. And be careful about your identity, just in case. The mission involves potential wetwork against somebody who /really/ has it coming.

The meeting is scheduled for six-thirty PM. That's 18:30 for those with military backgrounds. And understand that the Johnson is going to be rather nervous, at best, so try to avoid big armaments.

Kelris, after being told about the job by his roommate, gets ready to leave to make sure he'll be on time. The man takes public transport down into the warrens, stopping a couple blocks away and continuing on foot. Looking around the area and heading towards the apartment, hands tucked into his deep coat pockets with his left elbow resting on the body of his rucksack. Eyes casually scanning around, looking for his destination while making sure that he doesn't bump into anyone with a knife. Or with fists. Or anything.

«Plot» Slinger says, "The J, if anybody knocks, will nervously call out 'come in'. So you can both be inside the room."

Orpheus is inside now. Because that makes sense and it progresses the story and I think we would all like to carry on with our lives now.

Kelris pulls the door open calmly as he hears a voice inside inviting him in, stepping on in, and quickly sealing the cold air out behind him, shutting the door. Hands move to slowly threat the bottom buttons of his coat together.

The guy swallows and looks at Kelris, but didn't seem to notice Orpheus slipping through along with Kelris. In fact, there's a chance that Kelris didn't notice that. The guy lets out a slow breath. "Only you?" he asks carefully. It's 18:30 exactly, and the guy takes a drag from his cigarette before he tosses the butt out through the open window. It's warm in the apartment, except for that wind coming in through open window, which the guy swiftly closes.

Kelris shakes his head doubtfully, though confusedly, brows furrowing down, head turning back and forth, and he motions at the door. "It opened and closed a moment ago, before me."

Orpheus chuffs a bit, "Oi, I'm here too," he responds, waving his hand between the slit in his cloak.. Which kinda just makes it look like a disembodied hand is waving in the air a moment. Probably not helping the whole 'keep him from getting nervous' bit, but thats just how Orpheus rolls.
"So.. Whats up."

The guy glances over at the door. "Thought that was the wind," he mutters. He coughs once, clearly not used to smoking, then starts, hand going for his weapon — but he stops short of actually drawing it — as Orpheus speaks. He eyes the hand, then glances to Kelris. "Friend of yours?" he asks warily.
He visibly counts to ten, calming himself. "I've never done this before, if you haven't noticed," he says, and his clipped voice makes it very clear he's definitely military. Or maybe police. "I have a problem. And I need somebody to help me with it. I can't do it. If I did, it would be my job. But if somebody doesn't do something, that piece of drek is going to walk free and probably kill somebody again."

Kelris turns towards the voice, eyes darting from it to the Johnson's hand moving for it's weapon, and Kelris takes one long step back towards the door, ready to simply slip out if combat spurs into action. But after the quick step, the native shrugs towards the employer, not verbally answering, as he goes on to listen, nodding.

A quick spasm into a hasty combat stance is what Orph takes, though it fades quickly once the guy seems to calm back down. Note to self.. people hate ruth-cloaked individuals. He didn't get it but.. whatever. He relaxes as everyone else seems to be calming down again.
Orpheus smirks at the guy from under his hood though. No one can see it, but it's there.. "So.. Who is it and what did they do?" asks the youth in a casual manner. He gives Kelris a quick glance as well.. Nobody that he knew personally. Not that it bothered him or anything.

The guy reaches — more slowly, this time — inside his coat and from within withdraws a couple of pieces of paper. Yes, actual paper. And it's covered with pieces of tape that read 'EVIDENCE' in big letters. He hands them over — and it's a mug shot, front and side. "Ergash Zani'heru." You've heard the name if you've watched trid at all. "He killed four officers, in cold blood. Not trying to do a heist or anything, not 'trying to get away'. We know about that, you know, it's a risk that's part of the job. No, this guy just walked in while they were off-duty, and shot them. All four of them, in cold blood. Killed three of them right there. The fourth was injured, and he took her off and raped her mercilessly before dumping her body in the Colorado river."
You've seen this on the trid. The guy walking out of the courtroom, a free man, smug as hell as he looks into the cameras.

Kelris takes the papers being the visible one but he stands in such a way the other can look over his shoulder at him, while he looks over the mugshots. He nods, as the information is being given, but what seems to sell him is the very end. Kelris scowls with disgust, hearing about the poor woman being raped. He shakes his head, and lifts it with his eyes to the J's, nodding. The mugshots are held horizontal at his side, to be taken away by the ruthed fellow, if wanted. "I'm definitely listening." Kelris says, voice low.

Orpheus kinda didn't like where this was going.. But he sticks around anyways.. "So.. What do you want us to do with this guy?" he asks, watching Kelris as he flips through the offered papers. He couldn't really develope an emotional connection to the officers plight, really. However, people like this weren't really needed on the streets either..
Gentle, Orph takes the mugshots to examine them himself, commiting the pictures to memory for now.

The guy lets out a slow breath, and then reaches for the pack of cigarettes. Ares Reds — one with a macho image, though not as strong as what Slinger or Orpheus smoke. He shakes one out, then lights it with a shaking hand. "There's kinda a collection that got took up. Your pal Slinger kicked in another ten kay toward it. Which I didn't expect. Something about animals like this needing to die. We've got fifty thousand yen, right now.
"I want him dead," he says, through gritted teeth. "Or to wish he was. I want him to suffer like he made Welch suffer. And I want nobody to ever know who did this. We have rules, you see," he says, with a hint of bitterness.
It's clear how much this is costing him — not just the nuyen. But to have to go to /criminals/ to have justice done. The irony, itself, could not be more perfect. "Do that, and the money is yours."

Kelris turns his eyes towards the hooded one as if to read the other's expression, like he thought he could see it, and then back. Kelris brings a breath into his chest that lifts it up, and his gloved hands are slipped into his pockets. "How can we find him?"

"That's up to you. But his place of residence, common hangouts, it's all there. That's his complete file. Known associates. Might be good to start there. I bet he's hanging out with that slitch of his. He kept her supplied with drugs in exchange for letting him do whatever he wanted. She's been hospitalized three times, but refused to testify. Go figure." He sucks in a deep breath of smoke. "Just make it look like one of his old enemies took him out. There's a list of those as well. Nobody on the Force is going to shed any tears or work too hard investigating it, if you know what I mean."

Orph watches this little ritual as the man lights his cigarette a moment. He scoffs a bit at the brand name.. But not everyone could handle the harder stuff..
"Yeah, well.. I'm not big on the idea of torture. If Slinger seems to think this guy is worthy of dieing, then I guess I'm in.. If we are going to track this guy down though, it's going to take forever if we look everywhere.. Maybe we should split up?" he suggests, looking to Kelris.. "One of us can check his place out, and the other could go asking around at once of his hang-outs maybe.."

Kelris nods a few times, twisting his lips to the side. "… I hate splitting up." He says, "But yeah, that'd probably be a good idea." He bows his head to the J, looking between him and the disembodied hand holding the mugshots. "Shall we stay here momentarily while we look those over, or get going?"

The cop takes a drag from his smoke, and exhales it in a slight shuddering breath. "Tell 'Slinger' when you get it done, and he'll contact me, and we'll get you paid." His hands clench into fists, then unclench. And then he takes a drag of smoke, and heads for the door. "Just one thing. This guy is tough. Remember, he took out four cops, armed at the time. Don't underestimate him. I wouldn't wanna bet on anyone's chances if he got them alone."

"Not a problem," thinks Orpheus.. So long as no one tried to engage alone, anyway. "It's either that, or we'll have to search randomly, one place at a time.. Or ask around and see if anyone knows where he's at right now. I don't really care, so long as we get it done," Orpheus elaborates. On that note, he does a quick gear check and the usual bits and pieces of conferring with Kelris about their comm frequencies and all that usual bollocks.

Kelris takes a quick moment with Orpheus to set a comm channel before they get into the papers to figure out where things are… "Let's stay together as much as possible. I think we should try to find someone that can tell us where to find him. Would be quicker…"

Orpheus nods, and now finally pulls the hood on his cloak back, showing Kelris his face now that the cop is gone. After all, why would you want a cop to see your face anyway? Orph is a pretty cute elf. Or handsome? Hard to say. He has features of both qualities.
"Alright.. That sounds fine by me. You good with your tongue?" the youth asks of Kelris. Fullstop here.. Honestly, it's NOT meant in THAT kind of way!! Really…
"I'm not confident I could get anyone to tell me anythin'," he admits, grinning a little sheepishly.

Kelris offers his hand over for a friendly shake when the man's face is shown, and he briefly introduces himself as, "Dolan." before they get back to business. He returns a grin. "I… might be able to. Not the best diplomat, but I could do the talking, if you'd like to hang back. I'm not the best combatant, either."

Orpheus nods, smiling a bit at that. "Well that works great.. You talk, and I'll punch anyone who looks at you funny while I hide under my cloak. That work? Just keep in contact and everything should be great. Failing that, we can always still just camp out at his home. He has to return there eventually, right?" Orpheus then checks his weapons real quick, and stashes away the papers the cop gave to them before they set off. "You ready?"

The most likely contacts for the guy include a gang member/drug dealer named 'Streetwize', who hangs out in a bar not far from here. His girlfriend/main squeeze, who has a residence listed of her brother's address in The Crank, and a car thief named Wheels. Common hangouts are that selfsame bar mentioned, along with his home address, which is basically a run down shack just outside the Warrens. There's a photo. What a dump.

Kelris nods in agreement to the small plan. He reaches back. under his coat to draw his sidearm, checking it as the other does the same. "Yeah, I am." He says, tucking the Alta away. "I've also got a Ranger Arms in my bag, if the opportunity comes for some long-range combat. Otherwise, I've got a knife, and this pistol. Decent with each. I definitely won't be useless, once we get to him."

Orpheus smirks, "We have similar skillsets with guns. I'm decent with my fists, too.. But more importantly I'm good at staying silent and invisible.. So if I get a chance, I'll just stil my blade in his back and put him down when he doesn't expect it.. But I guess we'll just have to see what happens, huh? Let's get started, then.. We'll head over to this seedy lookin' bar first, I guess.. See what happens. I got your back," he assures Kelries, and pulls his hood back over his face again.

Kelris nods, turning towards the door as Orpheus hoods himself again, making his way out. "If needed be, I don't mind taking attention and bullets for a moment so that you can get behind him and snap his spine." He assures in return, exiting the apartment and shutting the door after giving a short second for his partner to exit before they head down the street.

Kelris heads down the street with his hands in his pockets, communication's channel fallen quiet between him and his watcher as they move. And they move down towards the bar, first of all. Kelris doesn't know the warrens perfectly, but he can manage to find it, as it's not too far away.

Part 2: Seedy is a Compliment

To call the bar 'seedy' would be to pay it a compliment, and to disrespect the fine tradition of downscale drinking establishments. Even as you approach, there is the thudding sound of music from overdriven bass, from too much volume pumped through a sound system that just isn't rated for it. Outside, people are lounging against the broken brick walls, wearing all manner of attire — including rather suggestive outfits, which are barely revealed under the heavy coats they wear against the biting cold. A guy plays with a knife out front, eyeing the new arrivals, and one of the women out front sidles up toward Kelris, trying to be all seductive. "You lookin' for a good time, honey?" she wants to know. She's missing at least half her teeth.

Kelris slows his pace just slghtly as the woman slips up next to him, as to not be rude, though he slowly moves around her towards the door while giving eye-contact, and a charmingly kind smile. "Not tonight, hun." He says, and twists away as he moves for the door, after casually scanning the patrons outside for any of the recently seen photo's faces.

Orpheus can't help but chuckle at this one.. »Aw, looked like a match made in heaven to me,« says the young elf as he continues to stealthily skulk around behind Kelris as the other man moves deeper into the establishment. Orpheus then begins looking around for any of the people hes seen in the photos.. who knows.. Maybe they will get lucky?

Nope. They're not outside. They're inside. The door swings open, and a few people turn to look at Kelris. But they don't pay too much attention to him. He doesn't look like money, and he looks like more trouble than he's worth to actually go after.
It's fairly dark in here…

Kelris smoothly slips a pair of shades from his pocket as he steps into the dark room and his fingertips delicately glide across the arm, hitting an infinitesimally small button as he settles them in 'top his nose.

Looking around the room, there are people in various states. This is a den of iniquity if there ever was one. There are several people in ratty booths, and one of them is getting a blowjob — at least, you would assume it is that, given there's a woman's head in his lap and a look of pleasure on his face.
In fact, just because of that, it takes you a moment to recognize him as Streetwize. He isn't paying you any attention. He's staring at the ceiling, and breathing rather hard…

Kelris approaches the bar as he looks around, and his eyes fall on the fellow getting a blowjob in the middle of the room. And, realizing he recognizes him as one of the contacts, Kelris momentarily pauses. … Not sure what to do, there… He shakes his head, looking away, and around the rest of the room. "Our friend's over there gettin' head." Kelris mumbles subvocally into Orpheus's ear.

Just in case Kelris missed it, Orpheus sends over the comm line, »Hey.. See that guy over there?« He says.. Points vaguely so as not to uncover his hand from the cloak.. then realizes Kelris wont be able to SEE that and repeats.. Luckily, Kelris does indeed spot the same person he does.
»Yeah.. Every part of my wants to feel sick right now,« he adds to that… »Alright.. Ill watch your back.. If you wanna try to get a word in.«

Kelris chuckles softly, and takes a casual seat at the bar — if there is one. "… Y'know…" Kelris murmurs, "You might be better. You could walk right up, without the gal seeing you, pin his chest back and squeeze his throat — so he can't talk — and whisper to him that he needs to give up some info. Then release his throat just enough that he can mumble into your ear. Then we can slip back out." Kelris keeps hush under the clatter of voices.

Around you, the rest of the bar is keeping an eye on the two strangers. Are they here for business, or pleasure? Or are they up to no good? No good, in this case, being defined as the sort of thing that most people might define as good, actually!

Kelris is very careful not to sit too close to anyone, and keep to himself. Slumping against the bar, cupping his hand over his lips while he whispers into the subvocal microphone, and only glancing indirectly at the target every now and then.

»Hey, not a bad idea,« Orpheus returns completely straight-faced. Who could say that wouldn't work? It might! Orpheus is too green with situation like this to make a distinction. So he quickly heads over toward the man gettin' his head, his cloak still in the ON position as he makes his way.
»Keep an eye open to make sure no one suspects anything, dunno if he's ganna freak out or not..« Orph then makes his way around behind the ma, stealthily, and prepares to adminster some good old Orpheus-style negotiations.

An ork of clearly Asian descent eyes Kelris, and then slips casually over toward him, to lean against the bar. Inconveniently, he is between Kelris and Streetwize. "You lookin' to buy or sell?" the guy wants to know, speaking with an accent that is far more 'street' than any expected Asian accent. His arms are covered with tattoos as well.

Sweeping his eyes casually around the room and shifting in his seat, Kelris stops his eyes on the ork and his head tilts to the side, brows raising as he listens, and he leans ever so slightly closer in attempt to hear him over the obnoxiously loud bass pumping in the room. He glances around, and then shakes his head. "Was looking for a friend of mine that said he hung out here now and then, is all. I gotta go real quick, gonna check his place. Could buy you a shot if ye like first, though, omae." Kelris grins, likewise honestly smiling eyes hidden behind his glasses as his head turns just slightly, and he glances around again.

The guy looks at Kelris, shrugs a shoulder. "Maybe I know him. What's his handle?" he shoots back. He doesn't answer your offer, but just raps once on the bar. "Shot o' Crown," he says with a grin. If somebody else is buying, he'll capitalize on that.

Meanwhile, Orpheus sneaks behind Streetwize, trying his best to ignore the woman who is doing.. whatever it is shes doing. The thought, 'Your doing it WRONG!' comes to mind, but this wasnt the time or place for that.. No, instead, he reaches his small hands forward and attempts to gentle slither them around the mans neck while leaning down to whisper quietly. "Hey, dude.. I know that second-rate blowjob is nice and all, but I got something I really need to ask you, kay? Then I'll be on my way. I promise," he says in that slight hispanic accent. He sounded so innocent almost.. yet so very fucking serious. That is assuming he gets a good grip on the guys neck..

Kelris grins as the man orders the shot, nodding and turning his head to look around in the opposite direction of the orc, and then return to the man again. "Hey, got a few friends? Might as well buy 'em a round, before I run out." Kelris says, completely ignoring the first conversation, as if he totally missed it over the music and the white-noise of other conversation. Which he very honestly might have. He slips a quite decent amount of certified cred from his pocket as the tender comes around, tossin' it onto the counter. "Round for however many it'll cover!" Kelris announces to those closeby to draw eyes away from mister Streetwize.

The bartender grabs the stick, and if your intent was to avoid gathering attention, that idea is shot all to hell when the bartender announces, "Free drinks on this guy here!" Pointing to you. In fact, the bar suddenly gets mobbed, and you're surrounded by people. Men, women, it doesn't matter. They don't smell all that great.

To say the guy is surprised is an understatement. He has absolutely no clue that anybody was sneaking into the booth next to his. No idea at all that he was under attack. His first knowledge that that is happening is, in fact, when a ruthenium-clad arm slides around his neck, engaging a choke-hold before he can react. He lets out a startled grunt… which might have at least alerted the hooker, or somebody nearby him.
Unfortunately, at the offer of 'free booze', she left him high and… um. Wet. As his pants are halfway down, revealing his private parts. He starts to struggle, but a small tightening of your arm will communicate that that is a bad, bad idea.

Orpheus grins. Perhaps if hes lucky the hooker will just thing the squirming and grunting means her work is almost done and paid for. He doesn't really care at this point either way.. "Look, I know this is probably killing your hard-on, but I have a favor to ask.. Theres this guy I wanna meet.. Names Ergash Zani'heru? Know him? If you do, feel free to tell my blades," he says, encouraging the mans further cooperation by letting the finely honed, dikoted edge of the blade caress the mans skin just slightly.
»I don't know what your doing over there but damn it's awesome. I bet nobody sees what I'm doing to this idiot..

Kelris grins as everyone rushes closer, and he nods his head in a friendly manner to the orc before telling him, "I gotta get goin'! Nice to meet you, sir. Have a great night." And, while Kelris's voice is probably almost completely drowned out by the shouts of the many drink orders and the music, he reaches out to shake the orc's hand, if the man is still within reach, and palm off simple contact information with the assumed drug dealer.

Streetwize grunts. "I could yell, dey be all over you," he tries to bluff. But it's obvious from the run on the bar and the music combined he'd be lucky if anybody /heard/ him, let alone cared at the moment. He squirms — then freezes utterly as that cybernetic blade brushes along his cheek. Despite the rumors, /warm/ steel is even more frightening than cold steel. "Okay, okay! I… I got him and his ho a room in the Al'bast'a Motel. Room… ow! Two-oh-eight. Whole buncha blow. He wanted to celebrate! I swear!"

Orpheus clocks this information away in the back of his mind, nodding. "Hey, that's real nice. My blades really like it when they get what they want.. Right now, they want your fucking blood. But I can get that blood elsewhere, yeah? Not from you.. S'long as you don't give me a good reason to, that is. Like, say, as long as you weren't lying? Soka?"
To Kelris, commed: »I think I got us some good info.. Maybe. Going to see if I can make this guy piss himself to be sure it's authentic..« Then, he looks down at the hooker, and thinks better of it.. »On second thought, I don't want to lose my breakfast. My hot roomie works real hard to cook that shit.«

Kelris slips up out of his seat and makes his way through the dense crowd of people. "We'll rely on it. But pat down his pockets 'til you find his phone, while you've got him held there. He doesn't need to be calling anyone. Probably got his info on it, too, if he's got one. You can tell him that he definitely doesn't want to tell anyone about this, and give him a real little knick, as a reminder." Kelris whispers as he steps around people.

Orpheus pages: That seems like the best rout.. So I'll hold off on spending more karma or doing anything else til we work out the Aq and such.

Orpheus liked this Kelris guy, he was full of good ideas that he could really get behind. It's like he spoke this secondary language that most people didn't understand.. but THEY did. Oh yes.
Slowly, Orpheus lets the dikoted edge of his warm blades run along the mans neck and collar bone. "So.. As long as we have an understanding.. I'm cool. Oh, also, I need to borrow your phoe if thats okay with you. Soka?" Orpheus then gingerly reaches down toward the mans pockets even as he lets the edge of his blade slice very minutely into the flesh of his shoulder, perhaps drawing a thin line of blood to keep him behaved while he jacks his phone.
»Goin' for the phone now..« he says, keeping Kelris informed in case something should happen..

You can feel Streetwize tensing under the touch of your blades. The Dikote on them makes them hardly hurt at all as they slice lightly into the man's skin, but he doesn't have Slinger there to heal those little nicks. You've made your point, it seems, when he doesn't protest when you go for that phone in his pocket. Which then immediately begins to vibrate in your hand.
The display reads, 'Tuskface'.

Kelris pivots and steps through the crowd as he makes his way towards the door, looking around, and glancing towards Streetwize as he does, though not lingering. Wouldn't want anyone following his eyes, or anything.

Quickly, Orpheus relays this new development to Kelris.. »Quickly, Someones calling this guys phone.. 'Tuskface' is on the caller ID. Should I let him answer it and listen or let it go?«
Meanwhile, Orpheus keeps the guy occupied with his body temperature weapons. He makes a mental note to remember and wipe the blood off later. Wouldn't want to accidently cut himself or anyone else on this and give them herpes or genital warts that this guy may possibly have considering his lascivious activities.

"Put it to his ear and listen in, and leave your blade on his throat. Enough that he'll actually cut himself if he drops his chin to yell, maybe, if you like that idea." Kelris murmurs through to Orpheus.

RING! says the phone again. Over at the bar, people are slowly starting to filter away with their drinks, which doesn't give you much time. The Fellatio Blond is up at the front of the queue, ordering her drink…

"Buddy's callin' you," Orpheus says gently, and quickly flips the phone open and puts it up to the mans ear, lowering his own head so that his own ear is very close to listen in on.
Who knows, maybe it was a really bad idea.. Or maybe it was a risk worth taking. It was a low profile risk in his eyes however. If worst came to worst, he was confident he could protect himself easily from anyone ni the bar. At least that was his assumption, of course..

Kelris casually twists back to walk towards the bar, keeping his eye out on that blonde girl with the wet lips, to catch her before she heads towards Streetwize. If she catches his eye, he gives her a rather toothy grin.

With those claws at his throat, Streetwize has a chance only to flick his eyes toward the phone, and he answers in a hoarse whisper. "Hello?"
There's a pause from the other end of the line. "Yo, Streetwize, you feelin' okay? I mean, if this be a bad time, I can call somebodyz else for my blow."
Streetwize looks back up toward his captor, whom he still can't see, looking for what you want him to do.

"If that's our man, well… Let's take this pantsless fool with us. Mmmmm, cannon fodder…" Kelris murmurs.

Orpheus's complex, interconnected series of cybernetics makes sharing this little tender moment with Streetwize and his customers something even Kelris can enjoy. He outputs the recieved audio signal through jack to his comm unit, and thus to Kelris with maybe a very slight drop in sound quality.
»Drug deal, maybe?« he adds with his own transcieved voice after the comment is spoken. ».. You sure you wanna do that? That is a difficult risk to calculate,« he admits.

From the phone, "Hello? Streetwize? You there? You gettin' a fraggin' blowjob again?" Streetwize ain't sayin' a word without you prompting him.

Kelris nods to himself, while he approaches the blonde to distract her, just incase she's going to go back to her 'date'. "Yeah, he could move inside and you could slip in with him. I could step in a moment later. If you agree, anyway." Kelris subvocalizes, keeping quiet.

The blond, for her part, is just getting her drink, and she's a little disoriented. It takes her a moment to remember where she left her client/patron. And by that time, a rather handsome Native young man is in front of her. "Hey… I'm already booked," she says, with a deep swig of her drink, and a flirtatious grin. Her voice has the sort of sound that makes it sound like it ought to be popping bubble gum. "But maybe after…"

Orpheus shakes his head a bit. Does he have to do everything for this scumbag? The youth rests his hand on the forehead of the slobs head(an act that brings him physical repulsion) -leaving the blades visibly protruding downwards in front of his face - and motions with his hand to force his head to bob up and down.. up and down. YES. He then jams the phone more against the mans ear again.
»I suppose it's worth a thought..«

"Yeah, yeah, sorry, somebody was talkin' to me," Streetwize said. "Yeah, I can get you whatever you need. Got a courier I can send over with it," he improvises, thinking fast. "How much you need, and you got the cred for it at the usual price? Hell, I'm feelin' generous, I'll give you ten percent off."

Kelris smoothly slips into the stool beside the gal, returning a small grin. "That's alright. I just saw your eyes, and thought, … 'That lady needs more free alcohol…'" Kelris trails off into a smirk, and passes script enough for another off to her.

Orpheus might feel bad for Kelris' situation.. If he were there to see what he was going through.. he had problems of his own though.. namely making sure this idiot didn't try anything stupid by waving the incredibly deadly and dangerous impliments of death in front of his face repeatedly. It was for the greater good, though.. so Orph could justify his actions that way, in the end..
»Hows it goin' over there?«

The woman cannot help but laugh. Yes, she clearly thinks that's the case, and the Native American man is rather attractive. She slips onto the barstool, having totally forgotten about Streetwize, and she reaches over to put a hand into Kelris's lap, giving his leg a squeeze. "Sure thing. I'll have another of these." She holds up a Long Island Iced Tea. That clearly has a lot more alcohol than tea.

Tuskface seems to think about that for a second. "Cool. When're they gonna be here? My nose is gettin' all itchy! Want me to give them the… 'payment'?" There's something about the way he says 'payment' that gives the word extra emphasis.

Kelris grins, nodding and sliding the script towards the tender, tapping it twice for his attention. "Iced tea. The kind that makes you plastered." He requests for the lady, while his other hand moves to gently, almost chastely pat the one on his thigh. "Lovely." He says aloud to Orpheus, with a smirk rolling off his tongue as he looks at the blonde, tilting his head.

Orpheus narrows his eyes. It was probably nothing, but he disliked the tone that both of these people were taking.. It was unlikely for idiotas like this to have such sophisticated methods.. but Orpheus didn't want to take the chance they were both someone speaking in code somehow. He makes the guy shake his head 'NO' and presents blade-to-flesh again for emphasis.
»Almost done here I think.«

There's something about the emphasis that was given that makes Streetwize go pale. "Holy drek! No, seriously, mano. Frag, I forgot about that code-thing. No, these guys are for real. They work for me. Don't waste 'em. Just give 'em the cred, that's all."
There's a pause, and then Tuskface asks, "Sounds good. How's your sister doing?"
Streetwize swallows, and then finally smirks. "I ain't got a sister and you know it."
Tuskface chuckles. "All right. Send them over, stat, with my blow."

Kelris gently scoops the woman's hand up into his, raising it in a gentlemanly manner and briefly resting his lips to the top of her hand while he holds it with care — which nearly makes him sick right there, 'cause he -knows- where that's been. But he plays it off, for some reason, giving her hand a kiss before slipping from his stool and bowing his head to her. "It was a pleasure to hear your voice just once, beautiful. Have a great night." Kelris says his goodbye, before turning on his heel, starting for the door again.

Yeah, her hand doesn't smell very good. She titters, reaches around to take her drink, and looks flirtatiously at Kelris again. "You's a lot nicer'n Streetwize," she purrs. "Tell ya what. For you, I'll do it for free," she says, and leans against the Native man. "This time."

Orpheus patiently waits for this series of events to play out, making sure Kelris continues to recieve the information as it comes.. There was some risk involved here, but a calculated one.. One Orpheus was willing to take. Bringing Streetwize along could indeed be useful. He could either be a bullet sponge or maybe the sight of him will alleviate suspicions on their target. It raised the question over whether 'Tuskface' was their man or not.. If so, this could be interesting.
Once he is sure the phone conversation is over, Orpheus flips the phone closed and leans down to speak in the guys ear again. "If you thinkin' for a moment I'm not onto you, you are very, very wrong. You don't know who you are fucking dealing with amigo. Get up and start walking out of the bar," he orders, and reaches down for his pistol with a free hand. In case the man was thinking of starting shit, he would probably think twice once he knows Orpheus had ranged weapons to cut him down with, too. He jams the pistol into the base of the mans neck, letting the cold, unforgiving steel burrow into the flesh a bit. "Comprende?"

Streetwize swallows once. "He's gonna… gonna expect the two couriers," he whispers. "If I come along, he'll be suspicious!" He really just wants out of the situation. You can tell. But who could blame him? An invisible source of blades…
But Streetwize isn't all that stupid. He zips up his pants, and then slowly gets up, and starts to leave, walking slowly, tossing off waves to people. "Got a hot date!" he tells them. A few people look at those marks — and then over at the blonde, suddenly eyeing her with obvious interest.

Kelris turns his head to give the woman a flattered smile, shaking his head. "Noo, that's alright. I just wanted to say hello. Goodnight, ma'am." Kelris smiles, and then turns his head again, continuing to the door.

Orpheus smirks. "If he gets suspicious, he'll be suspicious of you. Not a fuckin' shadow - thats me. Now get movin' and if you stop moving or do anything dumb… Well, you know what'll happen. S'long as you don't fuck up, I'll consider lettin' you come back and finish with that ugly slitch at the bar," He promises. As if that was somehow an incentive. Who could get it up again after going through something like THIS?

The blond starts to protest, but about that time one of the other guys comes up to her. "You're fraggin' /wild/!" one of 'em says. "Whatchoo charge?"
And that gives Kelris the opportunity to escape. Meanwhile, Streetwize is heading for the door, and out of it — with an invisible young Hispanic in tow.

Part 3: Streetwize

Kelris slips out the door after a moment of crowd-weaving, and his hand is burrying itself into a slit in his bag just opened wide enough for it. There's a click, as he opens a box inside, and another as he shuts it, seconds later. He rolls his neck, and steps forwards, further onto the sidewalk. "Where we headed?" He asks of his partner, while lifting a small bottle, uncapping it by twisting with the thumb and index fingers of the same hand holding it. He tips the heavy medical sterilizer back and swishes it around to get the disgusting taste of that woman's flesh out of his mouth, before spitting it down into the street and tucking the bottle away again, shaking his head violently, once. "Fuckin' gross."

Once outside, Orpheus gets himself and Kelris to head somewhere safe and out of sight while they quickly prepare a strategy along the way. Curious, Orph asks: "So. Tuskface. Nice alias for a murderer," he says to the man, assuming that he and Kelris' suspicion is true.. It might not be, but if he led mr. SW to think he already knew, he might spill the truth. There was always the chance Tuskface wasn't the man, but also a murderer too..
Orph watches Kelris perform this little show, curiously. He sticks his tongue out at the thought.. "Fuck.. You didn't like.. kiss that female did you?" he wonders aloud.

As Kelris falls into place beside him, Streetwize shoots a glance over to him, nervously. But even so, the guys outside give Streetwize a little bit of razz, but nothing major. And then you are away from the bar. Far enough that it'll be hard for Streetwize to yell for help.
"A murderer? Frag, he didn't kill no people. All he killed waz cops. And he got off the hook, too. I found his ass a /good/ lawyer!"

Kelris is content to skip that question. "Okay. Feelin' clean, now." Kelris reassures himself, sucking his cheeks in as he gathers heavy alcohol-tasting saliva, and then spits it out a second time. And they're off walkin'. Kelris doesn't give Streetwize eye contact, but he glances at him while he speaks. He scowls. "But he raped one of them. There is no excuse for that. At all." He shakes his head, looks away from Streetwize and his gloved hands are tucked into his own pockets. "Now, what's you're take on this?" Kelris asks of Orpheus.

Nice. That was easy enough, Orph thinks. It was decided then.. Streetwize could lead the way. He already spilled the location earlier, so Orpheus comms, »Alright, lets get this guy over to the right place.. We'll bring him along and decide what to do with him. He's expecting couriers, though.. So.. I guess we'll work something out.« He doesn't want to discuss the delicate matters in front of their pawn just yet.. he does say one thing though:
"Be that as it may, it was him that did it.. So we'll direct our focus on Tuskface," he says.. Not wanting to give Streetwize the impression to expect that they would kill him.

Streetwize nods. "Yeah, I ain't done nuffin! You can let me go. I ain't gonna call him. He's just a customer, you know? Just somebody I sell blow to. Ain't worth all this. C'mon…" He swallows, then glances around nervously. And slowly starts to reach for his pocket.

"None of that." Kelris orders as the other's hands start going for his pockets. "Mmm, you haven't done anything. But the Family would be upset, if one of us was hurt." Kelris hints at a nonexistant gang, "So, I think you should be there, as a nice little meatshield. And really, you don't have any say in this. If you manage not to take any wounds? Cool. You can walk away. I don't care."

Seeing this, being the observant type, Orpheus reminds Streetwize that he isn't in a position to complain. Or try anything foolish. The gun is jammed into his back again.. "Got something you wanna share with the group?" he asks, implying that little bit of movement toward his pockets. He looks down at the pocket a moment as well, seeing if he can spot a bulge in the pants and what size it is. Fuck that sounded so wrong… A nod is shot to Kelris as well. "Yeah.. Play this cool and we don't care what you do.. Your just a pawn, that's all," he assures him.
Being told you are a pawn. Ways to know you are having a good day indeed.. 1. You are called a pawn by an invisible hispanic and morally condemned by a native.

The guy does have a bulge there, but it's the wrong size and shape to be a gun. No, it looks more like a credstick. "I got three thousand in cred in my pocket. It's yours if you just let me go. Seriously. Along with… I got, what, half a kilo of blow. That's worth another three grand, easy, on the street. Just take it and let me go, okay? I don't want anything to do with this."

Commed: »If the other guy is expecting couriers.. We could potentially take the cred and his phone and leave him stranded somewhere. Then we wouldn't have to deal with nor worry about him until we've dealt with our target.«

A heavy sigh, and Kelris steps forwards, grabbing at Streetwize's arm in a nonviolent manner, and pulling him aside into an alley just off their path. And then he lets him go, and motions towards himself. "Deal." He says simply, while unclipping the button holding his coat shut and brushing it aside, revealing a knife's hilt that his hand idly rests on, incase it is a weapon the man pulls.

Deal. Streetwize's eyes brighten, and he steps into the alleyway, and then reaches for his pocket. Moving nice and slow — he pulls out a credstick — and a bunch of little baggies of white powder that looks a lot like the real stuff.

Orpheus didn't know what to think about drugs. He didn't do them.. Never had. Never had the opportunity either.. They were forbidden where he came from. On the same token, he didn't really care about them or whether people used them. He had little social preconceptions in that way.
"Not interested.. Uh. You can have it I guess," he tells Kelris, offering the man to do whatever he wants with it. For now, he just oversees the transaction taking place while Kelris grabs the cred - the blow maybe - the phone..

Kelris takes the credstick and slips it into his left coat pocket, trustingly removing his hand from his knife and taking the bags, tucking them into his bag in a ginger manner. He motions towards himself. "The phone, too."

Streetwize hesitates for just a moment, but then he hands the phone over. "Sure, take it. Now, can I go?" he wants to know, looking more than a little bit nervous. Edgy. Scared.

Just as a last chance to see if Streetwize is lying, cheating, or otherwise being untrustworthy, Orpheus lets his arm slip out through the slit in his ruthenium cloak so that his arm and gun are clearly visible, seemingly floating in mid-air.
"You can go.. To hell, lying piece of shit," he mutters gutterally.. This was SW's last chance.. if indeed he needed one. Of course Orpheus wouldn't kill the man.. but he was more than ready to defend himself if he suddenly explodes into violence.. Or maybe this was a good chance to reveal any last minute info.. OR.. Maybe he'll just piss himself and beg for mercy.
Either way..

Kelris takes the phone and tucks it away, giving one glance to the floating gun before cranking his arm back, gripping his knife and drawing it forwards in reversed grip with a nice, sharp 'shnict', emphasizing his ally's threat.

Streetwize is about ready to piss himself. He takes one look at the two of them, and then whirls and runs, away, as fast as he can. Not heading to the bar — or to his contact's house. No, he's heading off in a random direction, trying to stay low and avoid being shot at.

Kelris turns his head as the man shivers and bolts, raising his brow, and then looking towards where he guesses Orpheus's face is, from where his visible hand is. He shrugs, sheathes the long, slender knife and steps back out of the alley.

Being held at gun-and-knifepoint -after- your deal is finished, and running off wet-pantsed. Ways you know you are having a good day indeed… 2.

Orpheus would take a few potshots into the air just to make him think he was being shot at. Ensuring his 'cooperation'.. but his gun was of course, silenced, as any good shadow ops would do. Oh well. He tucks the pistol back into his draw holster, making his arm vanish once more.
"Well, that was fun," admits the youth, and heads out of the alley along with Kelris. Now.. it was time to finish this job.. "Anyway.. We know where he is.. and he might even be expecting us.. we can sell him the drugs.. and.. hmmm.." Orpheus is thinking.. thinking..
"Hey.. I have an idea. I have a few doses of somethin' in my gear that could probably knock this fucker out cold in an instant.. Assuming we can get him to sample some of it.. which he might do anyway just to check.. What you think?" he asks his running partner.

Kelris tilts his head and glances towards the voice — even though it's in his ear — and then he looks forwards, nodding. "That could work. Lethal stuff? What is it?" Kelris asks as they move. "I could give him a single bag for him to test for quality before the rest. And if he tells me to get going, well, I can step outside, and you can stay. And knife him when he goes down for a dose. If he isn't already out."

Orpheus nods, "Yeah, that could work," he says.. "The stuff isn't lethal, though. It will knock him the fuck out instantly though, if it hits his bloodstream. Also got some stuff that will hit him via simple contact. Works immediately." Yeah, Orpheus liked this plan. It boded well with his style indeed.. Plus, no killing needed. They could easily decide what to do with him once he was on the ground and unable to move.

«Plot-Page» (To: Kelris) Slinger says, "Hrm. Neurostun would be really hard to package, since it's gaseous. But something that's injection vector will still be absorbed rapidly, in high concentrations, through mucous membranes."

Chuckling quietly, Kelris nods. This does sound great. "Something gaseous would be hard to package; but something that could be injected, on the other hand, would work wonderfully. It would be absorbed rapidly through mucous membranes along with the coke — which can kill you every time you take it, anyway. And enough of -anything- can kill you. If he simply falls unconcious, I could follow up with some tranquilizer patches, and we can euthanize his ass."

Orpheus nods, slowly. He actually was a little addled by the 'killing' part of this plan, though. "We could kill him, yeah.. but do we really need to? What if there was something else useful we could do with him," considers the youth. Killing was easy. He's done lots of it before.. but lately, it was very difficult, for various reasons. Because of that, his voice didn't sound timid or scared of the killing, so much as unsure.

Kelris murrs quietly… "Well… It's what we were hired to do. My only other idea is contacting the fellow he told us to contact Slinger?, having him contact the J, and offering the man means to come and bust the guy on drug possession, once he's unconcious."

Orpheus grins from under his hood.. "Yeah.. Hey, good idea. I'll call Slinger and see whats up," he says, indicating he already had said contact in his possession already. And was on speaking terms.
There is a brief pause and the very faint flicker of shifting and bending light as Orpheus rifts through his stuff to get his phone.. He dials in the proper number and waits for a connection..

Slinger finally answers, sleepily. "Yo."

Kelris quiets down as he slowly walks, hands in his pockets, letting Orpheus go through with the call.

Orpheus replies casually, "Heya, Whats up?" A brief pause.. "So, I'm out on this job.. You know, the one who killed the policia," he says.. Another pause.. " .. What do you think 'bout all this… An' I'm sorry did I wake you up?.."

Slinger yawns. "Yeah, but s'okay. Good to hear from you," Slinger murmurs into the phone. He coughs once, slowly sitting up. "What I think? I think the guy's guilty as hell, and everything I know says he is, and he got off scot free because somebody bribed the judge. I think the fragger deserves the electric chair, myself."

Orpheus hmmms quietly to himself, listening to this.. "Yeah, but.." comes the reply hastily, though he doesn't finish out the sentence in it's entirety.. Finally, he adds, "So.. I mean.. Should I….???" he lets that sentence hang as well. He kinda hoped Slinger could think of some kind of scapegoat for him.. but maybe there simply wasn't any way out of it..

Slinger coughs again, then smiles. "You have to judge. Is what he did worth death? And more than anything — if you do not kill him, will he kill again? You have to become Justice, for Justice has failed. Whatever you choose will be the right thing, I know. I trust you. Be well, my love."

Orpheus merely responds with, "Is justice always so blind?" he wonders, voice edging with a slight philosophical tenor.. Finally, he concedes, "I will do what I have to.. Thanks." He leaves Slinger with that hopeful point before ending the call and replying to Kelris who has patiently listened to half a conversation this whole time.
"Alright. Let's do what we came to do and get this over with.. We'll taint the drugs, and show up on his doorstep and take it from there.. Ready whenever you are."
Perhaps now they can take this to the final act. Curtains rise..

The photo of the house in question does not properly do justice to the utter ugliness of the place. It is actually freakin awful, run down. The porch looks like it could collapse at any moment, and in fact seems to be halfway there already.
From inside comes the deep, resonant thud of bass from music within. Apparently there's a bit of a party going on, waiting for the blow to arrive.

"Alright. Incapacitating him for the J, or… getting rid of him?" Kelris asks, looking towards the building.

Orpheus thinks a moment, then replies, "Let's get rid of him.. I trust Slinger's morality moreso than my own.. and even he thinks this scum needs to die.. so I will do everything in my power to ensure that this will come to be," he replies. His wording was faintly awkward, accentized by his Spanish.. But the point gets accross all the same.
"You ready for this?"

Kelris nods, rolling his shoulders back into place. "May I pass a bag to you, for you to dose, under your ruth?"

«Plot-Page» (To: Orpheus) Slinger says, "You definitely can see it. Shapes moving against the windows. There are multiple people in there. Looks like at least 4 or 5."
«Plot-Page» (To: Orpheus) Slinger says, "In fact, no, you're pretty sure there are five people in there, total."

Orpheus quickly studies the weeping structure before him.. so miserable it was as to have actual tears! Oh, no.. Wait.. that's just ruptured pipes underground spewing brownish liquid.. Anyways..
"I've got eyes on five in there," he whispers over to his partner. Meanwhile, he gets out a dose or two each of the neuro-stun and the Gamma-Scope. "I've never used this stuff for anything like this before.. You know anything about it? Anything specific we need to do?" he wonders as he accepts the baggie of stuff.

Kelris passes one bag from his rucksack back to Orpheus. "Something gaseous like neurostun won't work. But the other will work, as a liquid. Though, you'll need to add just enough…" Kelris turns, and offers his hands out. "I can do it for you, so we can make sure it doesn't dissolve anything." Kelris glances to the side, to check if there's any nearby cover. Just incase they've got eyes on them.

Once they have slipped out of sight, Orpheus hands over a vial or two of the dangerous liquid. He is quite ginger with it, because part of his training a long time ago was being forced to endure the drugs effects.. Not something very fun to repeat. Ever.
"Here you go.." He then waits.

Kelris steps away, into cover with his blur of a partner, opening the bag carefully and adding in the dosages in. He stops, when just enough has been drizzled in, and hands the vials back, capped. He closes the bag, mixes it together, and then tucks the sealed bag into his coat pocket, seperate from the rest in his bag. "Alright. This i definitely dangerous, with extra people inside. You're slipping in unseen. I'll, ah… take however many bullets needed, like I've said." He chuckles, and heads up towards the building.

Orpheus prepares himself mentally.. for whatever might transpire.. "Hopefully, if all goes well.. We'll be more than okay. Maybe without a shot even being fired. I hope so.." Not that Orpheus wasn't a decent shot or couldn't put down a few bad guys if the time came.. but his creedo was always to slip in and out of a job undetected and with as little mark of your presence as possible..

Part 4: The Fatal Blow

Kelris steps on up to the motel room door, drawing in a full breath, and slowly letting it out before reaching out and knocking.

"Who the frag is it!" comes from inside.
"Relax," says another voice. "Just answer it!" Orpheus will recognize that voice from the phone.
A moment later, the door opens, and an ork covered in tattoos answers the door. "Yeah? What the frag do you want?" the ork demands. Behind him, people are dancing to the music in various states of dress, or lack thereof. The ork is standing back a bit from the door, leaving /just/ enough clearance…

Orpheus is standing next to Kelris as the door opens, ruth on, hand resting on the grip of his pistol.. Waiting.. Watching carefully as the transaction is about to take place.. If the gap in the door is wide enough, though.. Orpheus might consider slipping into the place REALLY quickly.. Just in case.. Assuming he can do so undetected..
»Whatever you do, don't hand the stuff over to one of his lackeys.. If a lackey tries it and ends up floored in front of Ergash, we'll end up with an even worse fight..«

Kelris nods his head in greeting to the ork pulling the door open, and he gives two solid, hinting pats to the side of his rucksack's body. "Streetwize sent me to deliver some blow to ah… Tuskface?" He says, slightly hushed.

The ork doesn't seem to notice a certain elf ducking through the door. No, instead, his attention is on Kelris, eyeing him for the potential as a threat. That is, until you mention Streetwize. "Yeah, Tuskface been expectin' you. C'mon in," he says, and steps back from the door, glancing along the street just to make sure there are no cops watching for such a transaction.
"Took you long enough," he adds.

Orpheus quickly finds a nice, dark corner to hide in for the moment, making sure to keep in eyesight of everyone in the room.. he looks for their target as well. All digits crossed that don't interfear with the use of his gun, he hopes.. Hopes the idiot takes the trap and everyone can live happily ever after..

Kelris steps up through the threshold and sidles through into the room, looking around briefly. "Tuskface?" He asks again to seperate him from the others, even if he recognizes his face from the pictures. He doesn't actually show that he knows it. He pats his bag again.

Standing in a room of orcs high on speed, wondering if your head will be on shoulders a minute from now. Ways to know you are having a good day indeed… 3.

The target is over there on the couch, being fawned over by a blond woman who has multiple bruises and cuts, that look rather fresh. Not a nice guy, really, but she seems to be fawning over him. There he is. You could take him out this instant, but then you'd be dealing with multiple armed people. You can see more than one of them with guns displayed in full view.
The guy on the couch looks up as his alias is mentioned. "Boy, you better be bringin' me blow. 'Cause most people don't get to talk to me like that!" The ork is black as midnight, his skin glistening with a hint of sweat. "Where's da blow?" he wants to know, as he leans forward, reaching toward a pocket.

Kelris turns towards the speaking man and he bows his head, reassuring respect, before he steps forwards towards him. "Yeah. He got you some prime cut, too." Kelris says with a little grin, digging his hand into his pocket, retrieving the special bag of white powder and extending his arm out to let the guy take it. "And I've got the rest in my bag, for you guys." Kelris says, glancing back to the ork that had answered the door and unzipping his rucksack.

Orpheus waited, crouched.. Keeping himself strategically in place in a spot where he could hit their target from behind or the side at close range.. He really didn't want to fight the whole room.. Even if he was confident him and Kelris could floor the lot of them.. he's fought orks before and it's never a fun thing.. even when you have the advantage. They had guns, brawn, and size on their side. Kelris and Orpheus had HEART.. and COURAGE.. and other such sunday morning ethical brainwashing diatribe that gets fed to kids.
They also had blow laced with a poison made from one of the deadliest plants in the world. Yay hometeam advantage ? .. Maybe?

The black ork reaches up to take the blow from Kelris's fingertips, grinning. "Prime stuff, huh?" But the bag is intercepted by the blond, whose greedy fingers reach up to take that package. "Fine, fine. Hand it over, and I'll give you your money. That's the way this kinda thing works, you know." He eyes Kelris, and then adds, "Since when does Streetwize hire injuns?" he suddenly wonders.

Kelris returns his eyes to the two on the couch, tilting his head and digging his hand into his rucksack, fishing around and pulling another bag, checking it over as if to confirm it was special, too. "Wasn't aware that he had anything against natives." Kelris replies to the orc with a simple, clueless shrug, and he offers the second bag to the lady. "He said that stuff was incredibly strong and humans couldn't really handle it." He gives idle warning, but shrugs. "Hell if I know. If you really wanted to try it, you should be careful. Real sensitive skin might absorb it slower. Like the rigid skin of… nipples. He could snort it off you." Kelris laughs as he makes the offhanded comment, picking out the rest of the bags to toss onto the couch beside the two.

"That's a fraggin' awesome idea. An' yeah, Streetwize ain't never liked Natives much. But maybe you work cheap," he comments. He grins and takes the bag, then makes sure the others are distributed before handing over the credstick, marked for 1200 =Y=, as payment. Certified, easily transferred to you own.
The ork grins. "Gimme the bag," he tells the blond, who shakes her head. "No! I want the good stuff!" she wails.
The ork scowls, and then delivers a rather hard slap to the blonde's face, enough to make her go glassy-eyed for a moment. She drops the little bag, and whimpers, even as the ork seizes the bag and starts to spread it out on her skin.

So far so.. Good? Hard to say at this point. Orpheus was just in the unusual and strange position of being a shadow. Shadows might seem like good things to be, but they carried a great weight with them.. Kelris was stuck in right now.. In the thick of the entire situation. If something went wrong, he drew the aggro. It made it harder to think, anaylze, sometimes.. Orpheus could casually examine everything going on in detail.. No one could see him, so no one would notice his prying, curious eyes.. His was the position of surprise and the unknown factor. It was his actions that potentially carried the greatest weight of responsability.. He had the ability, and the time, to affect the outcome of the next minute more precisely and succinctly than anyone else.
Being a Shadow was a burden.
Watching orks snort blow off a humans body was also burdensome. Maybe now he felt less encumbered with moral ambiguity and guilt about dispatching this lowlife.

One of the orks lights a very smelly cigar, laughing as he watches. "That's it! Show 'er who's boss. Fraggin' humans think they run everything." The ork empties out the baggie entirely, then moves the stuff around into lines, even while some of the others reach for their own bags and prepare to enjoy the drug.

Indeed.. Bide your time, thinks Orpheus. Plenty of time to rift through their belongings later.. although this did present a problem. If not all of them were sampling the 'good stuff'.. Then the remaining orks will no doubt turn hostile.. Of course, their numbers will have been thinned.. And besides, Orpheus still had surprise.. Something does occur to him though:
»If we have to fight any of the others.. Avoid killing them. While our target is obviously irreversibly guilty of his nature, we don't know if any of these others are so deserving of such.« .. Time would tell..

Kelris helps distribute the small bags, feeling it's his job, before he fixes his rucksack on his shoulder again. Accepting the paymend, Kelris steps back from the couch, checking the credstick before finding another, draining the currency back and forth adequately as to split with mister Streetwize.

The ork snorts deeply, lowering his head to the blonde's belly. SNOOOOOORT! The sound of that enormous schnazz resonating with the blow echoes through the room, even over the thudding bass of the music. He sniffs a couple of times. "Damn, that's good bl…" And that's as far as he gets, before his eyes cross, and slip closed as he falls down heavily over the top of the blond.
Some of the other guys are already cutting theirs up — but when their boss keels over, they look… well, they look stunned, before suddenly, accusing looks are directed to Kelris. And people start reaching for guns.

Kelris goes wide-eyed as the heavy man falls forwards onto the woman, and after a quick moment of stillness, he moves forwards, rushing hands unzipping his rucksack, and fishing in. "Oh, man. He must be going into cardiac arrest, or be having a stroke." Kelris says, starting to pull a scratched-up, grey box with the remnant of a red medic's cross on one side of it from the rucksack and go to his knees in front of the couch.

The ork on the far side of the table from Kelris is moving very fast — very fast indeed for having just inhaled some blow. But he's got his gun out at lightning speed, levelled right at Kelris. "Don't fraggin' touch him," he growls, and gestures with his gun to the guy to his right — who doesn't seem to be armed. Of course, there's a shotgun on the table…

Kelris stops, looking up at the gun, and then the man to his side, dropping the medkit down onto the floor and raising both his hands. "Hey! If he's going into cardiac arrest, his chance of survival are reduced about ten percent every minute he doesn't get treatment. I need to help him -now-."

«Plot» Slinger is giving Orpheus unconditional surprise right now.

Orpheus is still waiting, in good shot and range of the other orks.. He didn't want it to come to this but wasn't naive enough to think that it wouldn't. So he had his pistol out, aimed, ready to squeeze the trigger at even a moments notice.. even still, he didn't want to kill these people — it went against his oath.. he isn't even really sure if it could be justified in this case.. Maybe it could..

The guy in question scowls. "Monk there has got some trainin'…" Monk leans in over Ergash, just a short distance from Orpheus and Kelris, reaching out to check Ergash for a pulse. "So help me, if you brought poisoned blow, we'll fraggin' string you up, Injun!"

Kelris bows his head and nods, reaching to check the ork's wrist for a pulse, while the deemed Monk checks the neck. If he's let, Kelris applies pressure between bone and tendon gently to find that heartbeat, if it's there. "If he just had a heart attack or something… the only thing we could really hope for would be to get him down to a hospital to get a defibrillator on him, and I don't know if that's possible. But I have some medication that might work. Controlled adrenaline doses…"

Kelris doesn't get as far as actually checking the ork's pulse. The gun in the ork's hand barks once, deafening in such a confined space, sending a round whistling in front of Kelris's face. "I told you to BACK THE FUCK OFF!" the ork shouts, over the ringing in everyone's ears!

The moment the gun is raised and the warning shot is fired, Orpheus leaps into action.. Mostly instinctually at this point.. Even as he was pondering a way to take down these thugs without deadly force, he found himself lunging forward into the action the moment that shot is fired.. The poor guy doesn't even know what hit him - literally - as the feeling of diamond-coated blades immediately evicerates him.. His eyes roll back into his skull from shock and some of his intestines spill out onto the nearby coffee table moments before his immense weight crashes into it. He's dead. He's VERY dead.. Unless someone helps him pronto.. The only thing anyone noticed was a momentary blur arcing accross the room..

Kelris only barely flinches at the familiar sound of the unsilenced pistol's bang that's quickly replaced by a sharp, deaf ring. A spray of blood caught by peripheral vision as one of the orks hits the table. Kelris turns and brushes back his coat with his elbow, the same hand quickly drawing a black sidearm from a concealable holster and aiming it at the side of the armed ork. The trigger is squeezed just after the two muzzleflashes from the target's gun, a whisper sending an armorpiercing bullet out at the exposed side; at the kidney.

The remaining ork, the one Kelris shot, is panicking, and turns to bolt for the door, running for all he is worth. He fumbles slightly with the latch, then pulls the door open, getting ready to run through it.

Orpheus turns and looks over his shoulder a moment after evicerating the first ork.. He barely manages to catch the incoming shot toward him, a bit too late and takes the shot in his chest. It slowly burrows past his thin armor but he doesn't even notice it, simply charging forward to the next target in an almost trance-like, singleminded purpose.. Eliminate all hostiles. The second Ork he charges fares no better than the first, with a massive gash rupturing up through his chest and sends him sprawling against the couch, dying.
Two down, one to go he thinks, turning toward the fleeing Ork.. Who might be dead in a moment thanks to Kelris.

The final ork gets the door open, and manages to run about four steps through it, before he is dropped in his tracks. He lands on the ground outside the motel room, bleeding.

Part 5: Redemption

The blond is just now realizing exactly how quickly the world went to hell, and now she's screaming up a storm, shoving at Ergash and trying to get out from underneath the heavy, unconscious ork.

The kick of Kelris's first shot is absorbed like nothing, and he lifts it to align with the fleeing man, squeezing off another round whose only sound is the heavy, sharp thud as it punches into the ork's back, causing the immense weight of the body to go limp and hit the ground— outside. That would be bad. If this wasn't the warrens…
Kelris pivots and shifts, checking for more targets; still on his knees.

Orpheus gently tosses his cloak a bit to the side, revealing just his left arm and part of his left side as he reaches into a pocket and withdraws what looks like a damp towlette. He runs it up along the length of his blades, removing the blood on them in a quick stroak. The blades retract into some mechanism inside his arm, vanishing. Then he goes invisible again, looking at the screaming woman.
"Gods, Chica, shut your face.." he moans. He hated screaming women. so.. Damned.. Annoying..
»I think we are clear.. Let's grab what we can and get out of here,« he suggests, leaving no room in his plans for the beleigured woman.

«Auto-Judge» Kelris (#1748) uses 1 of item 1: Ammo, APDS - Heavy Pistol from Boomshells (#2091).

… There's that moment. When you're adrenaline's pumping so damn hard and you're ready to jerk at speeds otherwise inhuman to your own body, you're ready to kill before you're killed. And it's already over…
Kelris fills his empty lungs with a hoarse breath and forces his arms to 'relax', lowers his gun and climbs to his feet with speed on twitching legs that want to do more. He scans the room, and then steps towards Ergash, reaching down and gripping the back of his collar with his gloved left hand, then wrenching it back with all his weight to pull the incredibly heavy metahuman body off of the girl the torso, at least and let that upper half drop to the floor. Kelris ignores the blonde. The slightest movement levels the barrel of his gun with his unmoving target, and the slightest twitch of the native's finger puts another round into the back of the unconcious male's head.

«Auto-Judge» Kelris (#1748) uses 1 of item 1: Ammo, APDS - Heavy Pistol from Boomshells (#2091).

And just like that, with the pleasure centers of his brain activated by the Novacoke, and the rest of his synapses deadened by the other drug mixed in with it, Ergash does not feel the bullet that ends his life permanently, doing to him what he chose to do to the others.
Outside, there is dead silence, as people cower away from the violence. Leaving nobody and nothing to try to act as witnesses to this particular massacre. Except the blond.

The blond has ceased her screaming, and as you put a round into Ergash's head, she stares, then bursts into sobs, throwing herself at Kelris, hands extended as claws. But she's stoned enough right now that she is totally ineffective, spattered with her former lover's and abuser's blood and brains.

Orpheus looks away a bit at the splattering of blood that errupts from the paralyzed target. »You know, there is something very unseamly about guns,« he suggests. Blades felt more elegant, perhaps.. You couldnt' deny their usefulness, though..
"Alright.. Let's check them for anything useful and go," Orpheus posits, and looks over toward his partner.. "Thanks for all your help. We should work together again in the future.." With that, he rifts through the corpses pockets — hey, they didn't need this stuff anymore…
Orph tries to work AROUND the sobbing woman, though. Just the sight of her made him feel ill. "Get over it, chica," he suggests in passing.

They're criminals. So they work in certified credsticks. Between all of them, you can find roughly five thousand yen. There's also that gun, and the shotgun on the table, which could be worth a little bit, potentially. The blond has a few earrings. And one of the guys had some cyberware, assuming you were into anything that gruesome.

From Ergash's pocket comes the sound of music. His phone is ringing. The display, if you look at it, says, "Stretwize". At least, that's the name Ergash assigned to it. Apparently, speling wasn't one of his strng soots.

Kelris's thumb runs over a switch to enable the safety on his gun before his fingers just let it go, and let it drop to the floor. He turns, and his arms reach out, around the hysterical woman, and he pulls her closer. Gentle. He's warm, even through his multiple layers of hardened clothing, with so much blood at the surface of his skin. He embraces her momentarily, taking the weightless poundings of her fists and her nail's scratches. His chin goes over her shoulder, he squeezes her softly, and mutters, his voice exceptionally calm and warm, "He abused you. You know he was a bad man. Find one that'll treat you right. Better life, now."

Certsticks, Orpheus pockets his share of those. Shotguns were just not his style though so he lets that sit, along with the other peashooters lying around. The money was fine.. Slinger told him needed to focus on getting some money, so this seemed like a good way to go about it, anyway. Bonus money!
Orpheus kneels down and extracts the phone from Ergash's pocket, while he watches Kelris do this for the woman. He simply cannot understand his motives, though. "Why you wastin' your time with that?" he wonders aloud, then clicks the answers the phone, bringing it up to his ear to listen to what the other side has to say, first.

The blond is still sobbing, but her beating on Kelris's body slowly ends, and her arms go around him, leaning intensely with the emotion of the moment into the warm touch of another human being. Even though her drug-addled state, she can feel the compassion radiating from him, hear the truth of his words. Whether it will make a difference is anyone's guess. She continues to sob, softly, collapsing hard against him.
There's no sound for a second as the line clicks on. "Yo! Hey, Tuskface, you there?" Definitely Streetwize, definitely out of breath. "Hey, those guys — those aren't my guys. They're comin' to waste you! Get the frag out. I've got help on the way! You hear me?"

Kelris tightens his arms around her and closes his eyes, his breath leaving him very slowly… and then coming back. He sighs. Then his eyes open, and his eyes shift towards the blur of Orpheus, brows raising. His arms loosen now, slowly.

Orpheus smiles a bit, turning his ruth off - for the first time - so that Kelris can see him clearly. He points at the phone, grinning, and spells out 'Streetwize' with his lips slowly.. Then realizing it was easier: »Hey, it's streetwize. Knew he couldn't be trusted,« Orpheus says, rolling his eyes a bit… then he speaks into the phone..
"Hey.. This is Tuskface, whats up mi amigo?" he replies in a faux-deep throated voice. Orph just can't pull it off though, his voice is too young and juvenile to pull off such a feat.. He pauses a moment, then replies in his normal voice:
"Nah, I'm just joking, It's me. I knew you would fuck with us, you piece of shit. Give me two good reasons not to come hunt you down? Your allowed one bad reason before I hang up the phone and come find you…"

Streetwize was the last person who could identify them, after all. Which is why it's especially gratifying to hear him cry out in fear and surprise, and then there is a crunching sound as the phone is thrown, hard, against a wall. The line goes dead as said phone disintegrates.
One might surmise that Streetwize is not long for the city of Denver.
The blond finally seems to catch her breath, and she tightens her arms around Kelris. "Th-thank you," she whimpers. She never had the courage to actually get away from Streetwize. But now, maybe. Maybe she'll go back to what she was. Or maybe this is the little push she needed. It's impossible to say.
She releases Kelris, then staggers toward the door. And vomits, as soon as she's outside it.

Orpheus snorts in amusement as the line suddenly goes dead.. "That counts as two bad reasons," the teen says, then gently tosses the phone onto the ground before standing up, watching the blond staggering out of the room. Admittedly, Orpheus was trying to get away from this kinda thing, but it was hard when you had assholes THIS stupid and deserving of death.
With a sigh, he finally says to Kelris.. "Well, I don't think we need to worry about Streetwize.. Well, you don't. I don't think he ever saw my face.. still.. You ready to get outta here? I think he mentioned his friends coming here, so we should probably split before that happens.. I don't want to chance having to kill them — it would just end poorly.."

Releasing the woman, Kelris gives her a very warm smile, burdoned with sadness; only for her… Not the men he and his companion had just put down. Only the smile fades, and Kelris looks to Orpheus, nodding his head and reaching down to pick his gun off the bloody ground. He doesn't actually look, and his gloved hands don't feel the wetness coating the grip as he simply puts it away, and turns for the door. "Yeah. Let's get out of here." He says, exiting to the street again, quick on his feet.

Kelris twists back to the door and slips inside to grab his fucking medkit, and put it away. Oh, yeah.

Orpheus turns his ruthenium back on and quickly plods on after Kelris, leaving the scene behind him.. If anything, there was a gnawing worry in him that something he had done back there would turn out poorly.. It's on his mind, so he thinks to ask Kelris: »Hey.. You think we were alright to bury those idiots?« he wonders, his transcieved voice full of a vague uncertainty.. Which probably sounded strange coming from someone who was such an obviously trained and efficient killer, if the two evicerated orks were any indication.

Kelris and Orpheus, turning to move away from the scene in a random direction; away from the bar, away from where Streetwize ran off to…
"I have asked myself those questions for too many years… I just have to tell myself that… that's just the way it played out. That's what happened…" He trails off… into pause… "… The threat of them killing another person is gone. Life keeps turning in that wheel we all know so well. They would have been gone, eventually… I just have to find peace in the fact that I'm still here, I guess…"
Along the way, they'd slip into an alley, and Kelris would find a jacket from his coat and make sure his and Orpheus's boots were clean of blood. He'd give the man his number, without a real reason, before they split ways.

Orpheus takes the slip of paper with the number on it, nodding to his sage advice(which he truly took as such), before heading back to his home.. He walks for a good distance of this trip, Ruthenium still on as he slowly contemplates the events of only moments ago with a somewhat heavy and burdened heart. He has killed many times before, but now it was increasingly complex to know if it was the right, or wrong thing to do. He wonders if Slinger will have any further insight on the matter.
Times like this, you really needed a cigarette.. So he gets one lit up on the way back home.. Ultimately, "Is what it is," he ponders, and thats just how the shit went down.
