GM: Dalton
Players: Rip, Criticalfault What happened: Rip and Criticalfault are hired to kill a witness. It goes fairly smoothly.
Date: July 24th, 2070
«Plot» Criticalfault says, "I consent to the Dalton/Slide-yiness plot-age."
«Plot» Rip says, "I concent to this, but I get anything Critical leaves behind when he dies."
Word gets out through various sources to you both, that a person needs to die, quickly. You are to meet the Johnson at Tonys Meat Market, at 9pm at night, today. Come prepared to go to work, because time is of the essence.
Rip is always prepared, since he works light. He pulls on his coat and checks his pistol in its shoulder harness, along with his blade at his hip. Yep, good to go for work. A short trip later shows up at the meat market, to meet with the one that shall be paying them this eve for the dirty deeds, done not so cheap.
Hearing that hes being called back to work, Critical snuffs out his cig and takes a quick drink of a stale beer. He rubs his eyes and moves around his apartment slowly, shaking off the months past nightmares, everything is fine now…work makes a man whole. He grabs his duffel and shivers to the touch of it, gripping the handles tightly, he heads out the door, taking a deep breath he heads off to the meet.
The meat market is closed, but not locked. There is a dim light on from the back room as you enter the store, and the smell of real meat overwhelms you. As you enter, there is a bell sound in the room and from the back a big man in a suit steps out, he steps around behind the meat counter and watches the two of you for a moment, then slowly reaches into a pocket and pulls out something, laying a pair of chips on the counter. He says nothing, merly waits for you to pick them up.
Critical slowly walks over to the counter and takes the chip, slowly turning it over in his hand to be sure its not going to kill him. He conceals a hard swallow and slots the chip into his skull. After a moment a distant look over takes him as he checks the content of the chip.
Rip eyes the guy for a moment before stepping forward to grab one of the chips, looking at it a moment before pulling out a pocsec and chipping it in. He looks back up to the goon while the chip loads.

The suited gentlman just stands there, watching you both, and saying nothing.
Rip reads the rather brief chip. "That all then?" He asks, for clarity.
Mentally rolling his eyes Critical sighs and nods to the man behind the counter. Removing the chip and then sliding it into a pocket. He takes out a cig and lits it, taking a long drag. He makes his way out the door. Waiting for the other man, Crit leans against the building.
The man nods, and turns to walk back into the back of the butcher shop.
Rip sighs and rubs his temple as he turns and walks out, looking to Crit for a moment. "So, how do you wanna do this? Its never as easy as they say it is. And the fact that gave us next to no info, means we'll be fighting off hordes of security, I'm sure." He thumbs in the general direction of the address. "Guess we can scope the place out and see what it is we're really against."
Jason eyes over Rip and gives a slow nod, taking another long drag and exhaling a cloud of smoke above them, "Yea, thats how i scan it too. First, lemme do a little look see on the trix…make sure we aren't running against some mage or other deal…then leave? I just need to hit a public term."
Rip shrugs. "Do what you gotta. I'm just here to make sure the guy is clinicly dead at the end of the day."
Critical nods, "Alright, gimme 10. You got a ride?"
Rip nods. "Got an old van, sure. Just around the corner. Meet you there when you get your calls done."
Critical nods, "Great." He turns on his heel and makes his way to the nearest public telecom, getting out his data cables and plugging into his datajack and the other into his cyberdeck, sliding its cable into the comm.
«Plot» Criticalfault says, "I'm going to do a few quick matrix searches."

To (Criticalfault, Frostlog), Slide pages: The Anderson Apartments is a secure apartment building, all the enterances are locked or guarded, its fairly tight security.
Rip waits in the van, not having the right kind of contacts for this sort of situation. Have to hope zippy the wonderboy can come up with anything useful about the target.
After slotting his cyberdeck into the jack, Critical takes a few moments to run a few basic search commands, after a few minutes he unjacks and slides all his gear back into his jacket. He then heads back to the Van, he gives Rip and nod, tossing his almost human sized bag with a heavy *thunk* into the van. "Lets roll, i'll explain on the way." He opens the passenger side and gets in, buckling up.
Rip shrugs. "Sure." He says as he starts the vehicle up and starts heading in the general direction of the place. "So, what did you come up with? Anything good?" He asks as he glances towards Critfail.
"Mind if i smoke? I've had kind of a rough one." He takes out another cig and holds it in his lips, "Yea…hes some low level accountant, so thats a bonus. No police detail that we know if. His complex on the other hand, is pretty secure. I've been waiting for what feels like an eternity for my lockpicks…otherwise i can pop the locks. Camera's and junk i can take care of as well. What are you thinking?" He grabs his lighter, still waiting for permission
Rip shakes his head at the smoke question. "Feel free, makes it easier to sell you a new set of lungs." He says with a grin. "As for what to do…that might take a bit of thinking. Secure buidling means at least some security on site, as well as panic buttons and alarms. On top of that is getting in past the front doors without alerting the entire building." He mulls it over a bit. "Think you can get us some sort of blueprints for the building? Last time I went into a building without knowing where the exits were, it didn't end so well. And it would give us an edge for getting to him easier."
Critical removes his cyberdeck and sets a radio transmitter on the dash, while setting up a scanner. He begins to setup a wireless access point and continues his own side of the conversation, liting up his smoke, "Alright, blueprints i can do…even toss it on a chip. I can with some time jam signals and reroute the security to me. Take me…prolly 3 hours to get setup. I got a radio and ALOT of tech gear if you need to borrow anything."
Rip shakes his head. "I'm not much of a tech person, and you sound like you'd be better at it anyways. Like I said, I'm just good at making sure a body is dead, in this particular instance." He says as the van continues on. "Well, we have a little time, so lets find a place to park and you can work your magic. I'll start thinking of diversions we might be able to use to get us in and out."
"You got it, lemme see what i can do." Critical nods, relaxes in his seat and gives a sigh, as he jacks back into the matrix. Loading his browsing program, he heads into the Denver hall of records, researching The Anderson Apartments, for a basic floor plan. As well as brochures for the complex to see if theres anything else that is advertise for extra security for prospective tenents.

To (Criticalfault, Frostlog), Slide pages: You get the blueprints and the information on the security system, its pretty extensive, motion sensors, security guards, survellance cameras. But its all a matrix hookup, so you can hack thier system and own it.
A soft gasp come from the unstirring Critical and he opens his eyes. He grins widely toward Rip, "Your gonna like this… this place is wire for fucking sound…but its got a matrix hookup. I'm now slightly familiar with it. I can overwatch for you if you'd like or I can disable it and we can both go in."
Rip shrugs at that. "Whichever you feel more comfortable with. If you don't want to deal with the blood, I'm good with doing the deed on my own, long as you can get me in.
Critical picks his cig back up from the ash tray and nods, "Yea…rather hold the system. Feel much more comfortible with that then CQC. Still, i can give you some equipment that will make you job easier."
Rip says "Whatever you think will help. Sooner we take this guy down, the sooner we get paid. And I'm still very short on funds at the moment, so this is a real boon.""
Critical takes the last drag from his cig and nods, "Yea, we'll do that. Seems like the place i can do the most damage and help the most. Keep the guards out you in. I just need to get setup, find a good place to setup as well. I wonder if that building has a wireless link."
"Alright, I need to get ready." Critical undoes his buckles and crawls into the back of the van, removing a few devices. He setups a radio scanner, laser mic on the wind shield along with his satlink equipment, finally his radio. He takes his cyberdeck and links all the devices into his FUPs. Once hes done he explains to Rip, "Alright, i'm gonna go in and hold on to the place. You let me know what you need via radio. I wrote my frequency on a post-it on the dash. Trash that when your done. I'll do what you need. First things first is looping the cameras. Let me know, i'm going under. Any questions before?"
Rip shakes his head as the van's engine finaly cuts out, parked in a dark area. "Not really. Just let me know via the radio when you're ready to move."
The apartment building is well lit, security cameras dot the outside and watch every enterance into the building itself. Its 10 stories tall, with a parking garage next door, but seperate from the building. The front enterance is glass, all opening to a lobby with what appears to be two security guards on duty there.
Critical nods slowly and lays down and gets comfortible, finally, he slides the data cable into his jack. Once in the matrix, he pulls up three windows. The laser mic, scanner and radio. He then logs into The apartment complex and gets to work.

Rip steps out of the van once he gets the message. He straightens his coat out and makes sure he looks proper before locking the van up and moving to a rear door of the building, expecting the decker in the van to be watching and ready to bypass the lock for him. «Going in.»
The backdoor's maglock reader switches from red to green as Rip approaches. «Got you on camera. Move into the hallway and take a right. I got visuals on the blue print. Should be quick and easy if you can make it past everyone quietly.»

Commlink-Partsman> Rip says, "Reasonably. Wht you got in mind?"
Commlink-Fault> Well two ideas actually…
Commlink-Fault> One, Alarm in the basement, i lock the doors and elevators as long as i can. Two - Try and lock them _IN_ the elevators.
Commlink-Fault> Criticalfault says, "Either puts them on alert. They will radio for backup, but should be clear. You got silencers or what not, we can try something else."
Commlink-Partsman> Rip says, "I'm not a fan of either one. Alarms tend to draw trouble. Just wait see if the guard on the floor moves on. I can be quiet about taking this guy out, and be gone before anyone is the wiser."
Commlink-Fault> Yea, thinking twice on it, its more than likely not a good idea. Right now they are talking to a woman in the hallway.
Commlink-Partsman> Rip says, "Just keep an eye on him. Give it a few minutes and keep tabs on the other. If the guard doesn't move on soon we'll think of something."

The guard enters the elevator, then hits the button for floor 3. The doors close behind him.

He listens intently as he prepares to make his surprise attack, the only way to really get a trained body guard down in a hurry.
The footsteps stop, just around the corner. You hear faint breathing noises.
Rip continues to wait, unmoving in the dark hall. Either the guard will walk into the hall and he attacks, or the guard will turn and start to walk away which will allow him to make a quick end of him. Both depend on a hell of a lot of luck on his end.

Another slash that Rip is sure will decapitate the good ends up being deflected off a sleeve, tearing the material but doing little else.

As soon as the goon turns to run, Rip is right on top of him. A deft manuver wraps his arm up and around the guards neck and runs the already bloody sawtoothed blade full across the neck of the guard, catching the jugular this time and slicing through the windpipe. Its more than the guards body can take as the shock of the wounds set in, and down he goes in sprawl to the floor.
It also doesn't take a genius to figure out he was running for his client, and Rip is quick to run in that direction himself in an attempt to stop the call he knows is coming. Thankfully its been a bare handful of seconds, barely enough time to finish dialing if panicked.
The bedroom is empty, the bed looks like someone was sleeping in it, but there is no sign of him now. There are two doors, in the room besides the one you just came in.
Rip makes the common decision most make when in a hurry, and chooses the right handed door.
The door opens to show an empty bathroom, no sign of anyone here.
Rip pushes the unlocked door open and quickly inspects the room. Bathroom, empty and lifeless. Leaves door number 2, and he quickly vaults over to it, though this time he stands to the side as he opens it, just in case the accountant is armed and decided to fire off a few shots.
The next door is a closet, and as it opens you hear a squeal of terror, but no gunshots. The man is huddled in the bottom of the closet, a cellphone in his hand.
Rip puts his hand out to the man. "Phone please." he says even as the bloody saw in his hand dribbles droplets of red lifefluid to the carpet.
The phone falls from the mans hands, he stares at you with huge terror filled eyes, well, he stares at the blade in your hand. "Don't kill me, please, I'll pay you everything I have, please." he whimpers
Rip moves up just enough to give the phone a stamp with his foot, making sure the device isn't sending anything before he speaks further. "Nothing personal, but simply not good biz to things like that. That only happens in the movies, I hate to say." He says, drawing the blade back as he prepares to strike down the cowering accountant.
The man senses he is going to die, and his only response is to scream as loud as he can. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Rip cuts the scream short with a savage flick of the bonesaw, severing the mans voicebox and jugulars with practiced ease. A quick step back to avoid the trashing man and he waits the precious moments for him to slow before moving in and making sure revival by emergancy teams will be impossible by simple expidiant of removing the mans head the rest of the way from his body. Gruesome work but one that certainly will send a message and maybe garner him a bit more work in the future from the mob. «Deeds done. Lock the place down, and I'm comign out the back in a hurry.»
Commlink-Fault> 10-4, hurry hurry
Critical's icon floats within the security node, sliding his fingers down all the floating icons, he changes them ALL to red. «I've locked everything down, i'll open them as you go. Make your back to the back stairwell again. So far its clear.»
It doesn't take long for the security guards to notice the lockdown, especially when one gets trapped in an elevator. They start to radio each other and begin to check out the source of the problem.
Rip is quickly back out of the apartment and down the stairs. Another short run and he bursts out the back doors. «Full lockdown. Wipe all security logs and tapes for the last day if you can. Keep them guessing for a bit.» He says into the comm even as he reaches the van and climbs back in.
With a practiced hand, Critical reaches into the bowls of the system and grasps the database files linked to the cameras. He begins to clear away each bit.
«Auto-Judge[]» Criticalfault (#6325) rolls Computers (Decking) + Hacking Pool: 5 vs TN 5:

Criticalfault runs his hands over the floating data files, each being changed as his finger caress them. He finally bows out and wipes his own foot prints away, gracefully logging out.
Rip is starting the van up and making good their getaway even as the decker in the back works his magic. No point in hanging around too long and no telling when real trouble wills how up.
Sighing softly once more Critical opens his eyes and blinks a few times. He realizes they are on the move, he checks his police scanner and grabs his rifle from the duffel bag, loading a AV round magazine into it. "We clear? Guards are gonna call the cops, no one saw you though."
There are the sounds of sirens in the distance, as the cops are well on thier way to the building. You easily manage to avoid the law and make it out of the hotspot.
And so, pursuit evaded and job finished, Rip drives them back to the meat market to collect the rest of their pay.
