Kidnapping Doctors

GM: Pith
Players: Aeden, Dalton, Renegade.
Synopsis: The team picks up the doctors and disposes of them, realizing that they now have to sneak an ambulance out of Docwagon.
Date: October 2070

We find our heroes fast approaching their appointed hour. Two women have been found to take the place of the lost teammates. While willing to pull the scam in hopes of walking away with airtight SINs they're use in the field is limited at best.

After talking to Aeden and Dalton, Renegade goes back to her apartment to prepare for the run. A quick pack up of a few tools and her deck provides the basis for her equipment for the run and she moves off to her bike with a paper-copy city map in hand. She quickly chooses one of the seedier hotels in the UCAS area based on trix access and heads off towards that motel.

Rena slips her bike into some nearby brush by the building before flicking on its own Ruthenium coat. Her street clothes go in the storage compartment which is sealed per normal security procedure before she activates her own Ruthenium. This business is simple, once Rena slips into the building, she finds a room that's suitably empty. A quick connection to the port in the room provides the trix connection and she slips into a corner by the bed or window for some prolonged diving.

Commlink-Nightmare> Dalton says, "Alright folks, its almost go time for target one, we are going to be running fast all night, so lets do this right and hopefully alert no one. I'd like cameras looped in the aparment building, that way when I open doors, no one notices. Any alarms on the doors need to be deactivated, again, so no one knows I'm opening them. If you have any other ideas, please feel free to share it. I'm just going to pick a back door, walk in, head to the room, open the door and zap the target. I'm hoping fast and invisible is the way to get through this."

Lights flicker on the deck for the briefest of moments once the connection is made to Rena's data jack. Reality is replaced with the virtual reality and the real world becomes ever so distant. Her avatar is a green icon with a tron-like appearance. With a wave of her hand a console appears that instantly begins scrolling commands and output much faster than any human could read.

Rena's floating avatar is quickly pulled through a portal as the message "Logon Successful" streams by in green. The output of the portal is the LTG for the UCAS grid. Another console window is opened immediately as the deck reallocates resources into masking mode. A third console opens up as the deck goes into null operation, patching her trix communication system with the radio.

Commlink-Renegade> Renegade says, "Can you give me an address?"

Aeden is sitting out in his Roadmaster. "I'll be pumpin' out as much ECM as I can muster once you give me th' go ahead, if you think someone'll be tryin' t' make a call out t' security. Might buy us some time, at least," he says over the comm.

Dalton shakes his head "Actually, don't do that. The problem will be if they do a regular check in with radios, and suddenly they got interference. Unless you think they will just ignore it."

Commlink-Nightmare> Dalton says, "I'd also like you to keep an eye on the real camera feeds, let me know where security is at."

Aeden nods. "Yeah. That's why I said tell me if you think someone inside th' place is gonna make a call fer them t' come get us," he said. "I won't be cloggin' up th' airwaves th' whole time yer in there. Only if you figure they've found us out."

Dalton nods "Ahh, ok, that makes more sense." he smiles "Sorry."

The fourteen person security and hospitality team at the Watler McDonald appartments is more of a marketing ploy than it is a criminal deterent. Several years ago one of the managers discovered that by renaming the hotel staff positions to include the term security they could dramatically cut costs and recieve additional discounts on their insurance for having such a large 'security' force on hand throughout the day.

This means of course that most of the security team is armed with such equipment as mops, brooms, fresh bedsheets, and the occassional pillow mint.

«OOC» Dalton says, "Pith, I'm going to summon 3 F5 City Spirits Great Form. 1 for concealment on me all night long. The other two on standby for confusion purposes."
«OOC» Dalton says, "Then of course, I'll use cleansing to clean up my signatures"

A bit of hovering and portal-ing later, Rena is in the McDonald Apartment's building's trix system. A few moments at raising and closing consoles allows Rena's avatar to ascend to super-user levels. Any IC are instantly suppressed, leaving the slaves under Rena's control. The camera feed displays are looped to show the empty corridors and rooms that they're observing. The security system is overridden and made to display as if it's still active, despite being nullified. Then Rena falls into null operation mode to watch the mess unfold as well as clean up logs within the server.

Dalton sometimes overdoes things, especially when he is trying to make sure he does something right the first time. As he leaves Aedens roadmaster, he steps outside already cloaked in an invisibility and floating off the ground. He quickly summons three great form city spirits to accompany him, telling one to keep him concealed all night long or until dismissed. The others he asks to wait for his call. He then turns towards the apartment building, floating up to the roof first to check for some sort of access here, if not, he will head for a fire escape door.

Entrance is possible from the roof or fire escape, both are alarmed but your decker on overwatch is confident she can disable them for you.

Dalton takes to the fire escape then, roof access is often watched, but who stands near every single fire escape. He picks the floor his target is on, and hovers in front of the door, pulling out his minitoolkit. «Alright, I'm starting on the fire escape on the targets floor, let me know if anyone is on the other side, I'm going to work on the lock, keep the alarms off.» He then gets to work on the maglock holding the door closed.

For Aeden's part, he is sitting in the backseat of his roadmaster, all the better to make it appear unoccupied. Then, working with a boosted Retransmission device tucked under one of the seats, the dwarf monitors whatever wireless transmissions about… especially rigged networks. He's ready to work to spoof any of their signals as needed.

There aren't any rigger networks to speak of nearby (none above radioshack grade at least) there are however hundreds of cellular connections as people gossip late into the night.

Dalton works with his tools, first removing the case of the maglock, then working with the wires inside, finding the right pair to match, there is a click of the lock being unlocked. «Ok, tell me whats the situation on targets floor and that the alarm on this fire escape is off.» He waits paitently for confirmation

Renegade you see that the 'security' forces are occupied with their 'hospitality' duties, that is, the janitors are cleaning downstairs. The floor is clear for entry.

Commlink-Renegade> Renegade says, "Clear for entry. Do not go towards the downstairs if possible."

Commlink-Nightmare> Dalton says, "Roger, alert me to any changes."

Dalton opens the fire escape door, then switches to astral perceptions to scan for wards that might not have been mentioned. If none, he moves in quickly, if there is, he will sleaze through the ward. Once inside, he closes the door behind him, making sure it stays shut, then he starts floating down the hall toward the targets apartment, keeping his eyes and ears peeled. He moves to the targets door, then quickly gets to work on this locked door. «Working on targets door now.»

The target's appartment is just one among a dozen on this floor. There are no camera's inside the apartments themselves so this is a blind spot for Renegade.

Commlink-Renegade> Renegade says, "Is this flatline going to be noisy?"

Commlink-Nightmare> Dalton says, "No"

Commlink-Renegade> Renegade says, "Roger."

Dalton finishes working on the lock, but does not open the door. He takes a few moments to scan the door and its frame, looking for any signs of security systems that the resident might have installed.

No security appears to be in place beyond the Maglock.

Dalton whispers to one of his spirits. "Go inside, confuse everyone in this apartment." He waits ten seconds, then opens the door, standing to the side of it. If no shotguns go off, he moves in quickly and shuts the door behind him, looking for his target.

Sitting hooked into the trix via trode is the young lady who is the first target. Your spirit hovers behind her maintaining it's confusion.

Commlink-Nightmare> Dalton says, "She is on the trix, I'm going to try to get her to disconnect, but I need you to track her connection."

Dalton curses silently at the problem here, then reaches out with mana energies, his shamanic mask covering him, he seeks to control the woman, and tells her that she should say that she has to go now and she should disconnect from the trix.

Rena falls out of null operation to try and search for the connection on the server and tap it / trace proper.

Aeden grumbles a little over the radio. "Well… see if she's talkin' to her little group. Her droppin' out of a little pow-wow with th' others'd be bad," he says. "Don't jus' pull'er out. See if she can make an excuse fer needin' t' piss, or somethin'. Maybe food jus' got there, or she's gonna go an' have her way with a neighbor, or somethin'."

The young woman says "I have to go now." And begins a graceful logoff. Of course she's moving slow as a turtle going uphill on a snowy day so Rena has no trouble locating her room, trix connection and running a trace. Looks like she was doing some window shopping for wedding dresses, she was in the middle of trying on a high end piece that would cost at least several arms and legs (and not metahuman ones).

Dalton sighs, and then draws in the mana energy to stunbolt the woman into unconsiousness. He has little time here. When she passes out, he tells the spirit to go back and wait for his next command. Then he moves over to the woman and starts a mind probe, looking for answers. Questions like: Who were you talking to, how do you plan to steralize the metas, are you really part of a anti-meta group.

Rena gets distracted and admires the wedding dress for a bit.

She wasn't talking to anyone, chemically, and no, she is not anti-meta.

Dalton frowns and asks the question "Why were you doing the sterilaztions then, under whos orders." Of course, this is all in the womans mind.

She's firmly convinced that what she's doing is the best possible thing for the Metas, when probed about her superiors you recieve a confusing array of images.

Dalton has no more time to waste on this. He quickly casts invisibility and levitate on the womans body. Then cleanses the room of all signatures. He moves back to the door, with the womans body floating behind him. «Preparing to leave, hows the hallways to the fire escape look?»

«Plot-Page» (To: Pith) Aeden says, "Are there people outside the fire escapes?"

«Outside th' fire escapes look clear, an' I meal all of 'em,» Aeden says. «Can't tell if there's any camera on 'em from here, though.»

Renegade notices something and shifts to trick the snack machine in the lounge to dispense a few random snacks then shut off as if it just malfunctioned.

Commlink-Nightmare> Dalton says, "Are the hallways clear?"

Commlink-Renegade> Renegade says, "Affirmative."

Dalton opens the apartment door, setting it to lock itself, then floats himself and his victem out into the hallway. He closes the door, ohh, did I mention he wears gloves, its in his desc. He then floats down the hall quickly with his target, heading to the fire escape door, and going out, closing it behind him. Once thats done, its a quick flight to Aedens Roadmaster, and a knock on the door. «Open the car»

The back door makes the noise that all doors do when they pop unlocked. «There's room in th' back fer you t' stick her,» he says, the engine rumbling as the dwarf starts it up remotely in preparation to leave.

Dalton stashes the woman into the back, then floats into the roadmaster and shuts the door. He drops the levitate and invisibility spell on her and frowns.

Commlink-Nightmare> Dalton says, "Alright, I'm not sure I can just kill her, but I'm willing to drop her off in orktown and let them know what she did."

The young woman is dressed casually, long sleeved shirt, comfortable jeans, a pair of gold earings. No cyberware.

Aeden climbs up into the front of the vehicle, and frowns at Dalton. "Why not?" he asks. "I thought th' plan was t' waste 'em an take over their IDs?"

Dalton shakes his head "This woman, she isnt doing it out of hate, she belives that its the best thing for the metas, she thinks she is helping them avoid a life of taking care of ten kids and living in poverty because of it."

Aeden pauses getting ready to roll out to the next place. "You clearly don't get how these people think, then," he says, quite seriously. "They all think that. Think killin' metas is th' best thing fer 'em… put 'em outta their misery, t' end all their sorrows, an' th' like."

Dalton nods, and looks down at the woman, he decides he has to know, and casts another mind probe on her, looking to see if she truely belives that a meta would be better off dead, and if she would be willing to do it.
or if she has done it already.

Commlink-Renegade> Renegade says, "Are you guys moving towards the next target?"

You paged Dalton with 'Absolutely not, she's a decent god-fearing Christian, she doesn't even believe abortion is allowed unless it's a rape (her mind snarls around the logic there for a bit). Murder is a sin, except if it's war (there's another logic snarl there 'support our troops' twisting with 'thou shalt not kill').'.
Dalton pages: So why does she steralize metas?
You paged Dalton with 'It's the best thing for them (there's another logic snarl she identifies metas as both an infectious disease and an afflicted person, she can't save the person but she can prevent other people from being born sick).'.

Dalton sighs and drops his magics, moving over to a seat in the roadmaster and sitting down. "I can't kill her, someone else has to do it. She isnt bad, just, misguided."

Commlink-Nightmare> Dalton says, "Alright, heading to next target, get it setup, rinse, repeat, same drill."

«Yeah, we're movin' on," Aeden radios, and then looks back to Dalton while the vehicle rolls on towards the next closest place, about 5 minutes or so away. "Other's're misguided. Don't make what they do right."

Dalton nods "I'm not going to save her, I'm not going to argue that someone should probably stop her. But I can't be the one to kill her, thats all there is."

Commlink-Nightmare> Dalton says, "Alright, well, due to restrictions placed on me, I cannot kill them. I'm more than willing to drop them off in orktown and let the locals know what they have done, that should end thier lives eventually, though they may suffer a bit. Might be more humane for one of you to kill them."

Commlink-Renegade> Renegade says, "What? The targets? I don't think I'd like them the chance to get away. I don't really want to shoot them, either."

Commlink-Renegade> Renegade says, "I guess I'll flatline them if no one else will."

Commlink-RiggyRoo> Aeden says, "Dropped in th' middle of th' warrens? I'd give 'em better odds gettin' outta Aztlan, myself."

Commlink-Nightmare> Dalton says, "Fine, we do that, then dump the bodies near the ghouls nest outside the warzone. Wont be much left of them."

Commlink-Nightmare> Dalton says, "Times wasting folks, we have to be at thier work soon, lets get moving."

Commlink-Renegade> Renegade says, "I've got your position. EST 13 minutes."

Rena disconnects the wire from her deck, coming back to reality. She takes a quick thermal scan of her area before checking the window for security measures. After that, she opens said window and jumps out to reconvene with her bike, change back into street clothes, disable ruth, and move towards Dalton and Aeden.

Dalton rides along with Aeden, keeping watch on thier prisoners, if anyone stirs, he simply hits them with another stunbolt spell.

«OOC» Pith says, "Ok, so you're making a border run into the Warrens with 5 unconscious people in the back of a transport?"
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) has the Knowledge Skill Smuggling Routes with the value '2 (3)'.
«Auto-Judge[]» Aeden (#5230) has the Knowledge Skill Smuggling Routes with the value '3 (4)'.
«OOC» Dalton says, "Conceal the vehicle with an F8 City spirit :P"
«OOC» Dalton says, "And make it invisible!"
«OOC» Pith says, "That'll help."
«OOC» Aeden has wanted a reason to open Border Crossing as a know skill. "Sure, lets go the way that has the least magical security!"

«Plot» Aeden decides to go the route that he knows of with the least ammount of magical security!

Dalton prepares for the run into the warrens, with the prisoners in the back of the truck. He first summons a rather large spirit to conceal the vehicle as it travels, then actually casts improved invisiblity on the vehicle and locks it into his focus. He looks to Aeden "Alright, get us in there, if anything shows up, let me know and I'll take care of it."

After a few minutes of map checking, Aeden goes to look for one of the less-magically guarded borderchecks leading into the Warrens. "Here's hopin' they don't got anyone on duty lookin' out fer us," he mutters, doing his best to crank down his EM output.

«OOC» Dalton says, "I'm going to mind read them all, figure out who else they know doing this work, where the steralizations drugs are, so we dont do it by accident, where they pickup ther vehicle in the morning, all those questions we need to get through the day"
«OOC» Pith says, "You quickly realize you're going to have some trouble checking out the vehicle as you won't match up to their credstick certification information."
«OOC» Dalton says, "Alright, can I get a memory of thier own voice?"
«OOC» Pith says, "The truck is picked up from headquarters in the morning, driven onsite, setup, then broken down and returned. Pickup will require the truck to be checked out by the driver."
«OOC» Dalton says, "Ahhh, which one is the driver?"
«OOC» Pith says, "The beefy looking woman you picked up last."
«OOC» Dalton says, "Hrm….could I physmask to be her? Or at least Physmask renegade?"
«OOC» Pith says, "You could give it a shot, it'd be a disguise check."
«OOC» Dalton says, "I will go through everything she needs to do to check out the vehicle in her mind, then tell that to Renegade"

Dalton spends some time during thier trip reading minds, essentially, figuring out how they can go about the days activites without blowing thier cover, what they need to wear, where they need to go, who gets the truck, where do they return it, what supplies are good and what supplies are tainted, basicly all the minor details to get through the day.

«OOC» Pith says, "Pretty simple, walk in, provide ID, thumb print scan, drink some coffee while they bring the truck around, drive out and pick up team around the front of the building."
«OOC» Pith says, "It is a /big/ big rig."
«OOC» Pith says, "A overly bright ambulance with trailer behind it. They shine it up before each PR event."
«OOC» Dalton says, "This is going to be tricky, we should have taken them afterwards :)"
«OOC» Pith says, "As for the sterilization, the drugs are mixed in with the propelent in each of the doctors injection guns. That equipment is currently on the truck."
«OOC» Dalton says, "Renegade gets Physmasked, picks up the truck, and heads out. We stop somewhere, and Aeden disables the truck. Then we call in that the truck is broke, and get the day off. No one gets steralized that way."

Dalton finishes reading minds, and sighs "This is going to be tricky, the drugs are already in the shots, if we use them, they get steralyzed. I suggest we get Rene to pose as the driver and pickup the truck, then we have a little wreck, something that looks like an accident. Destroys the drugs in the process, and gets us out of working that day. We can steal a car and have it crash into us, I'm sure we can find someone willing to do that for a few bucks."

"Uh… point of interest? Didn't you say somethin' about fingerprint scanners?" Aeden asks Dalton, pulling over to the spot where Renegade is supposed to meet up with them. "I don't know of any magic that'll help with that. Nah… I think you need t' go in masked, an' have her keep any bells from goin' off."

Dalton frowns "Well, I guess I can pretend to be the girl and pickup the truck, your going to have to tell me how to drive it, I know how to drive a car, but a rig is another issue."

Rena is there on her bike. She dismounts it and moves over to Aeden's vehicle, waving a bit as she swings open the passenger door and hops in. "Hey, guys. That went pretty smoothly. Good work." She flashes a smile.

Dalton nods "I suppose, but its going to be tricky to be them tommorow, the drugs are already tainted, so we can't give them out. I'm suggesting we stage a wreck."

«OOC» Dalton says, "Does our NPC female know how to drive?"
«OOC» Pith says, "Basic driving skills, yes."
«OOC» Renegade says, "Better or worse than me?"
«OOC» Dalton says, "So I guess if Rene hacks the system to verify her ID, we can have her pickup the truck"
«OOC» Pith says, "She has a 2"
«OOC» Renegade says, "It's your call guys. 2 dice or 9 at +4. :|"
«OOC» Renegade says, "Sometimes it's better to default."
«OOC» Dalton says, "For basic driving, no need to roll"
«OOC» Dalton says, "She will be fine"
«OOC» Renegade says, "Kay"

"Jus how're they tainted?" Aeden asks. "I know a guy who might be able t' help out with that part, dependin' on how it's t' be delivered. As fer th' drivin', it's pretty much th' same thing as a car, as long as you don't gotta take no sharp turns."

Dalton nods "Alright, well, the drugs are in the injectors with the propellant, so I guess if we get new propellants, we wont steralyze anyone."

"I can probably hack the stuff." Rena says, tapping her leg. "We've got to be there in a few hours don't we?"

Steven laughs, "What's that, a batch of bad propellant? Well that's simple enough sport, just get yourself a new batch and sell the old ones to folks who aren't so picky. Just takes some basic work to swap out the canisters, you've gotta do that every 50 shots or so anyway or you'll be firing blanks."

"Know any place that offers Sterilization by injection? I figure they won't mind usin' this stuff… maybe save some nuyen by jus' injectin' folks with saline," Aeden says with a bit of a laugh. "That should more'n make up fer them needin' nuyen fer a swap of propellant, ya think?"

Steven chuckles, "Hmmm, sterilization? Nah, not much demand for that with the pill and the patch being so easy to get. I'm sure I could wrangle you up the supplies though, bout a week?"

"Eh… It's kinda a rush job," Aeden says. "Need it by mornin', if it's doable. I really don't feel like puttin' a smudge on what's supposed t' look like a smooth new SIN."

Steven sighs, "You're killing me, you have any idea how much I spent in pharms for this evening's entertainment and you want me to just drop it all and scurry over to wherever you are? You're going to owe me for this, you know that right? Alright I'll have them together in about four hours, they're going to run you 100 a pop."

"You don't gotta scurry nowhere. I'll meet you wherever's best fer you," Aeden says. "Make it 90, an' I'll give you th' starlizin' stuff. I'm sure you know some folks who'd buy it offa you. Jus' make sure they won't turn around an' jus' sell it to another poligroup. Work for ya?"

Steven grumbles, "Yeah, alright, 90. But next time you call at two in the morning your problem had better be a transport full of women afflicted with nymphomania…you know what, just get me a car full of women, I can inflict the nymphomania on them myself."

Rena stands up from her seat and makes her way to the back. "So, err. Where are we dumping the bodies? I don't want to get blood in your van, Aeden."

Dalton shakes his head "Just dump them near the warzone, the ghouls will get the bodies." He sighs slightly.

Renegade removes her pistol and a clip and begins loading it. "Well, take us there, Aeden. We'll pop then toss."

"It's been a while since I've been down this way… where's ghould territory?" Aeden asks, bringing up a vast array of sensor readings on his Digital Dashboard.

Dalton grunts "North of the warzone, big nest of them hideout there."

Aeden nods, heading off in that direction. "Fine. Jus' be sure t' keep th' spatter offa th' carpet."

Renegade clicks off the safety and waits for the vehicle to arrive to the destination. "Just help me line them up or something, Aeden or Dalton. This thing isn't silenced and we're gonna need to do this quick."

Dalton nods "I'll float them outside, then you can shoot them." he frowns a bit, but otherwise makes no notice of his discomfort.

Renegade nods towards Dalton. "Like target practice." Her discomfort is also makes no sign of discomfort. She has the poker face of a cold-hearted, remorseless, bad-ass killer. Only thing needed are some rude tunes. "Whenever you're ready."

Dalton waits till they arrive near the well known ghouls nest, and then starts floating unconsious people out of the truck and onto the street. Letting Rene do the rest.

Aeden drives on, and picks up the speed once they get near the ghoul zone… no need to chance getting overrun by them. The roadmaster is heavy, but enough of them might clog up the works. The backdoor makes another clicking sound. "Alright. Back's ready t' jus' be pushed open."

Dalton starts floating out bodies.

Rene lifts up her pistol closing her eyes for a moment before she pulls the trigger. The flechette pistol makes a loud report as the little metal slivers impale multiple spots on the target's skull. Their brain is mush now. When the next body comes she pulls the trigger again. Again. And again. Until each body is sufficiently pierced by slivers. On occasion she fires three or four times in quick succession. The last shot is the last of her clip.
