Log: Grand Theft Otto

GM: Posh
Players: Feather, Krieg, Lost, Scurry, Posh
Synopsis: Posh gets a tipoff from Rollo Doohrz about a nasty smuggler and raider that had turned on him in a business deal recently. He let her know that he’d gotten a tip about where he might be with a custom rig that he’d built for him: Rollo wanted him iced and taken care of, and exchange he’d take the vehicle, put a new transponder and a fresh morphing plate on it, make sure that it’s scrubbed.

The only problem is that it was the property of a tough team led by a rigger and a shaman, with two MPUVs with cybered gunners for escort! After devising a clever trap, however, the team was able to get the upper hands, with a brutal combat to finish the deal.

«Plot» Posh says, "Oh, want to make sure. I'm going to be throwing dangerous stuffs at you guys, in short, magic-supported vehicles. Also, I need your OOC consent that you will arrange rewards for your participation in this plot separately with Posh. Last, I wish to post on the wiki. Everyone OK with that?"

«Plot» Lost consents! "Please don't kill me!" XD

«Plot» Krieg says, " That sounds fine, this seems a very dangerous operation so far."

«Plot» Feather says, "I was trying to think of an appropriate double entendre, but nothing is coming to me, so yes. I consent."

IN POSH’S APARTMENT

The camera zooms on a curvy redhead and a sylphlike brunette discussing the meaning of life. The brunette makes quiet, insightful statements, while the brassy redhead proves that she’s got a good pair of lungs. “Well,” Posh smiles. "It seems like there's finality in that statement," she says, eyes tracking the waggling finger for a moment. "So I'm going to take that as that you'd like me to consider that for a while before I come back with more questions, so that they can be better ruminated upon," she says. "But I would ask one last question: if it's all based on how I or you or anyone perceive anything, then why not go for the lazy retirement goal instead of the revolutionary outcome goal?" she asks. "Because one can always gain control of and change their own perceptions, is that not true?"

"Anyway," she smiles. "I think I've got an interesting tipoff recently. It seems like an old smuggler associate of Rollo Doohrz has screwed over his erstwhile partner, and Rollo wants some revenge."

"Because we are all gifted with a privilege of choice, as we have survived the portions of existence in which all choices were made by others. Others either by commision or ommision did not destroy our existence, so we now have that same freedom to do so to those around us." Krieg retracts the waggly finger and takes a small breath, "So the question could be asked, why go for the lazy retirement goal when a revolutionary outcome could be acheived? it all is perspective, and our own application of values. Individual, and somewhat unique." She leans back forward and sits up properly, "Revenge is an emotionally toxic decision making tool, but equally profitable as other work offered, sometimes more so due to the emotional envolement. What is it they would like done?"

Posh shakes her head. "It's not revenge, so much as he can't have one of his enemies driving around in one of his custom rigs. It makes him look weak," she says. "The smuggler ordered a high quality custom job a few years ago. Our job is to steal that vehicle," she says, with a grin. "Rollo says he'll scrub it for us, new transponder chip, and so on, remove and alter the bodywork a bit, for us."

Feather is finally awake, quietly making her way out of her bedroom in an oversized t-shirt and a pair of boyshorts. It's almost sad how slobbish she can be when it's actually daytime. So much for composed assassin. She doesn't seem to register anyone else here, quietly making her way into the kitchen. Fridge opens. Fridge closes. She emerges with what is apparently her breakfast: some more (questionably-tasting) Tangerine soda from her favorite grocery in Chinatown.

She sits down on the couch, opens the can, and stares forward. "Good morning." Is it even morning? She doesn't seem to know.

Posh chuckles. "The specific parameters that the contact has requested are removal of the vehicle from the possession of his estranged business partner," she says. "I was considering involving Lost and Scurry." She glances over at Feather with a grin, watching her padding around. "Meimei," she says. "Mind if I have one of those?" she asks of the questionable tangerine soda. Posh is British, after all.
"Both results would seem to fit that resolution. The ability to covertly take the vehicle will depend heavily on those involved." krieg notes as she watches Feather drudge around the place.

Posh gives a grin to Krieg. "Indeed," she says. "Although, I'm not sure that there's going to be anything covert about it. The tip Rollo gave us was only on a route that he and his crew would be travelling on," she says. "We're going to have to hit them on the road, I bet."

Posh nods thoughtfully. "In any case, the tipoff we have is out on the road, but it's some pretty bad and rocky territory. We'll have to balance out between magic being not super effective on vehicles," she says. "And the fact that they'll have big scary machine guns and the like." Indeed, Posh displays a feed to Krieg, channeling it over radio, that shows a little clip of an understated, reasonably luxurious looking van with a sliding door, open to reveal a heavy machine gun in a door mount configuration. Not just that, it seems flanked and operating in concert with a pair of MPUVs, one with an assault cannon mounted into its ring mount, clearly jacked up and armored cybered gunners laying deadly fire into a Knight Errant pursuit squad. "This video was taken that reveals a little of the threat profile we are dealing with, you see." Distinctly, one of the pursuing vehicles lifts from the ground, and is then slammed back down, creating a roadblock and crashing into the others. "That's right. A smuggler and his crew, otfitted with vehicles and with magical support. That's who we've got to hit. But that's a seriously hot piece of gear right now." She grins. "I want that van for us, and I want you to put your necks on the line to get it for me."

"I do not beleive we are fully equiped to engage this manner of threat, not in an open enviroment or without signifigant pre-lanning to reduce the effectiveness of their mobility and range." Krieg begins assessing the various gear and weapons, vehicle capabilities as presente din the video. "It could be done, with the right application of a dynamic team. You would require magical assets to counter whatever it is that is invisibly creating enough force to displace a vehicle in such a manner."

Posh nods. "Oh, believe you me, we would require magical assets," she says. "Now, in my experience, if we have a route tipoff and we know in advance where they are going to be, we could set an ambush, which would be a significant force multiplier. However, setting an ambush might put us at greater risk of detection from local highway patrols," she says. "What we have to do is we have to stay on the road ourselves, seem like we're minding our business. We have bikes, that we can go 2 by 2 on, and Lost has a car," she says. "I'll have to ask her to risk Loretta, perhaps, but I don't see how we can do otherwise." She frowns. "Which is unfortunate but she and Scurry can maybe stay with them…or we can arrange Sara to have nearby transport, but she doesn't do hot jobs," she says. "In any case, to negate their range advantages, I think we find some way to, while on the road, surreptitiously follow them into a twisty area. That way we don't have to be all bunched. Then, you help command guide us together so that we can intercept them. They will likely be travelling at cruising speed, and lulled into a sense of security by the strength of their escort," she says.

"If this is to be conducted on the highway, with the possible interferance of law enforcement that could be advantagious and taken into account." Krieg ponders this a bit as she continues to review her ideas on the vehicles. "Regardless of their defensive posture the systems aboard their vehicles will remain vigilant. Aggressive maneuvering or signatures outside of typical civilian models may draw their attention." She seems to check on something, that dousn't appear to physical be here. "Engaging them while they are already engaged would be our best solution to limit saturation fire on our own assets in the encounter. Are we aware of any lucrative shipments or targets they may be targeting?" She paces around Posh in a circle. "Bikes are extreamly maneuverable, but a single effective burst of fire from their weapons would be unfortunate. Remaining undetected until the last possible momment would be key."

"Not just that, there are some twisty canyons. It's some serious broken up ground, lots of cairns, jagged rock features, and the like. Dry," she says, "So there are terrain features that will make an approach possible," she says. "The smuggler," she says, "one Otto Merron," she says, showing up an image that's clearly a few weeks ago, the sight of a heavy-browed man with a bushy black beard, a bald head, and a malevolent gaze, is only smuggling on the back of some heavy jobs he did with a road crew. Some pretty impressive work," she says. "So he's confident, but also possibly arrogant," she says. "He managed to get the funds to get the custom job from Rollo by doing a series of hits like these on transports. So, doing a moving hit is also a bit of poetic justice," she explains. "That's the message Rollo's trying to send. You fuck with him, he's got reach even as far as a guy like Otto," she says. "That's the thing, this tipoff is when he'll be headed back north to Seattle after making a dropoff down south. He'll be in the New Mexico Badlands," she says, showing a map of the northwest corner of what used to be New Mexico, as well as some samples of expected terrain features.

"Such an enviroment would mean sensor detection will likely be better than typical visual. I am not sure how well motorcycles will handle in such an enviroment. Do we have a transportation method to get ahead of their route and emplace some form of expediant blockaid? There are not many methods of slowing or stopping vehicles of those types without causing signifigant physial damage." Krieg continues pacing. "There are anti-vehicular zapper weapons that can disable the vehicles if they are not equipted to defeat them."

"Such an enviroment would mean sensor detection will likely be better than typical visual. I am not sure how well motorcycles will handle in such an enviroment. There are not many methods of slowing or stopping vehicles of those types without causing signifigant physial damage." Krieg continues pacing. "There are anti-vehicular zapper weapons that can disable the vehicles if they are not equipted to defeat them."

Posh considers thoughtfully. "I see," she says. "I mean, a little bit of physical damage won't matter too much, though," she says. "Not just that, I think the mages will be able to arrest the progress of the vehicle somehow, if I am not mistaken," she says. "Failing that, what happens if a van traveling at normal speed suddenly hits an earth elementa?" She pauses for a bit. "Actually, that's the best idea. What if the mages were to spring up earth elementals in front of the convoy we are trying to hit, with enough time for them to manifest?" she asks. "That might be a good way to establish an ambush without actually having to be there ahead of time. Both Feather and I could have a mage on the back of our bikes. Senshi can probably run at highway speeds, is that true, or not?"

Posh and Krieg are still in her house, discussing ways that they can track down and hit the notorious smuggler and road raider Otto Merron." There's a vignette of some KE footage from a job about a year ago that shows him and his crew in action, displays a feed to Krieg, channeling it over radio, that shows a little clip of an understated, reasonably luxurious looking van with a sliding door, open to reveal a heavy machine gun in a door mount configuration. Not just that, it seems flanked and operating in concert with a pair of MPUVs, one with an assault cannon mounted into its ring mount, clearly jacked up and armored cybered gunners laying deadly fire into a Knight Errant pursuit squad. "This video was taken that reveals a little of the threat profile we are dealing with, you see." Distinctly, one of the pursuing vehicles lifts from the ground, and is then slammed back down, creating a roadblock and crashing into the others, playing on the trid

Posh grins. "Anyway, Krieg, we know for a fact that we'll need to bring in those two - they're our best assets on call. Shall I send a message to the finger-wigglers, bring them on in?" And so she does, sending an invite to Scurry and Lost to come join and meet her in her living room at her Woodlands apartment.

"As long as the vehicles have enough time to stop, or at least the target vehicle. Destruction of the others only assists in our operation. The impact of a vehicle of those sizes at high speeds with a physical barrier would likely destroy both, unless one is signifigantly softer than the other. I am not sure of the hardness factor of these elementals." Krieg mentions as she continues her pacing. "Senshi is capable of outpacing the majority of common vehicles. Unfortunately when operating at those speeds his operational range becomes limited. I do not know the range capabilities of this summoning ability you mentioned."

"I am likely to be able to be guaranteed to destroy at least one of the escort vehicles with my gyrojet weapons," says Posh thoughtfully. "And I could get some LAWs from my stash if Senshi can use them, but those would be much bulkier and might not do the trick," she says. "Can Senshi effectively use a gyrojet?" she asks. "Although if we could somehow stop the vehicles magically, and not resort to anti-vehicular weaponry, that would probably greatly cut down on the response."

Feather has been absent thus far, but not out of earshot. She finally returns, having readied her gear, approaching the table where Krieg and Posh are planning. Her helmet is pulled on, the girl taking a few moments to adjust the ballistic underlayer beneath. As she speaks, she seems to be running through a systems check of her smartsuit, manipulating the controls under her sleeves. She fades out of view. Then back in. This repeats a few times.

"We have few options here. A threat which combines the abilities of heavy vehicles and magic is not something to be taken lightly. I suggest we fight cautiously. Ideally, we can disable the enemy vehicles from afar and use a secondary strike team to disable the occupants when they emerge."

She pauses there. "If we do not have such a method, and we plan to deploy using motorcycles, we could stage a quick strike to disable the vehicles, then take cover and deal with the occupants when they emerge. The mages can provide spell defense on our approach, and destroying both rear tires should sufficiently affect traction to stop the vehicle."

Lost was getting toward the time of the day when normally she would ponder that eternal question: What to eat for dinner. Such deep, philosophical musing interrupted by a text message from Posh, she takes a moment to get herself ready before heading up the elevator and across the hall to Posh's apartment. Sweeping in, she waves to all those gathered, "Hey Feather, Krieg." Smiling, she continues, "How's it going?" Moving to claim a chair for herself near the others, she glances toward Posh, "What have you got for us tonight?" She asks, tilting her head and waiting for an answer.

"Senshi is more skilled than I am with the systems, but in time I will learn them." Krieg stops her pacing and finds a spot to sit down and continue her planning. "The range on your Gyrojet will mean placing yourelf extreamly close to the targets, relative to their range. If they are rigged that will add another layer of complexity to it. Magic, as I have seen Mr. Scurry use in the past would be the most effective means of disabling them without signifigant response. Damaging the tires may be viable, if they are equiped with hardened runflat systems that may be nearly as difficult as other methods." She notes the greetings from Lost. "Hello again."

Posh nods. "Bikes will give us some oustanding mobility, but we'll be awfully exposed," she says. "I can datajack drive my bike and shoot with both hands, while yours has a gyrostabilizer. If we've each got a mage riding bitch that'll be what we need," she says. "Why not combined both ideas? Lost and Scurry set an earth elemental. "The thing is, being on bikes might tempt them into bad shots at the rider, instad of shooting at the vehicle at first, as well," she says. "Expectations management is going to very important in an encounter like this. We're essentially looking at two machine guns, a panther cannon, a mage in there somewhere, and vehicle armor," she says. "Yessh. Not the easiest," she says. "But also clearly not impossible. In any case, our only goal, really, is to get that vehicle out of there, by hook or by crook," she says. "And still under its own power. I don't think we've got the resources to flatbed it out." She also turns to Lost, with a big smile. "Welcome!" she says. "We're really going to need your help to crack this nut."

"So… what?" Lost asks, "We're trying to hit some heavies and steal their vehicle in the process?" She hmms softly, considering the problem for a moment, "Is there anyway we can bypass a gunfight? I don't really have any methods of stopping a vehicle that won't also damage it. Because, yeah, an earth elemental can provide a pretty heavy duty roadblock, but… if we have to be able to drive the thing away under its own power, that might be a little tricky." Sighing softly, the dark-haired elf continues, "Anyway we might be able to hit their escort with spike strips, maybe lure them into a dead end, then rush them on foot? It'd be better than giving them the space to blast us to bits with vehicle mounted weapons."

"If the vehicle is being rigged, there is a way to stop the vehicle by attacking the rigger directly. Zappers. We used them in Hong Kong, stop targets using rigged vehicles." And then kill them, presumably. "I have not been able to get my hands on them here," Feather adds.

"I have mentioned these devices previously, but their ability to strike a target can be limited, zapper strips would have to be placed infront of the enemy convoy. If we had a route plan and alternative means to get infront of them, that could be effective." Krieg stays comfortably in her seat for the momment. "There is the chance the zapper devices also destroy the electrical systems, and make the vehicles unrecoverable in a short timeframe. We would have to enact repairs on site."

"Well, let's see. Is there a way to make a vehicle stop without destroying it, other than zappers?" she asks. "I mean, you can close it in somewhere, right?" she asks. "And what about a stun spell cast on the aura of the rigger?" she asks. "I mean, that's how that works, right? Or do you have to be able to see his flesh directly?"

Scurry has gathered with, arriving a bit late. "Terribly sorry, love," He says as he slips inside. "What's going on, now?"

«Plot» Posh says, "Quickly assembling the information we have: The target, likely with his small convoy, is going to pass through a known point in the New Mexico Badlands within the span of a few hours, time unknown, because of a tipoff from a friend of Rollo that he has paid for a particular border guard to have his shift at that time."

Posh looks up to Scurry. "Well, my friend, Rollo Doorhz, /the/ car guy to know in the Rens, gave me an ultrahot tip," she says. "He's had a falling out a few months ago over a deal gone bad with the road raider and smuggler Otto Merron." There's a vignette of some KE footage from a job about a year ago that shows him and his crew in action, displays a feed to Krieg, channeling it over radio, that shows a little clip of an understated, reasonably luxurious looking van with a sliding door, open to reveal a heavy machine gun in a door mount configuration. Not just that, it seems flanked and operating in concert with a pair of MPUVs, one with an assault cannon mounted into its ring mount, clearly jacked up and armored cybered gunners laying deadly fire into a Knight Errant pursuit squad. "This video was taken that reveals a little of the threat profile we are dealing with, you see." Distinctly, one of the pursuing vehicles lifts from the ground, and is then slammed back down, creating a roadblock and crashing into the others, playing on the trid. "That's the ugly guy right there," she says. "Anyway, Rollo said that if we steal that van back for him, which was a custom job a few years ago, he'd scrub it and let us put it to use. He's already been paid for it," she says. "But he wants to make sure that people who go around telling folks that they got one over on Rollo Doohrz aren't doing it in one of his vehicles. Idealy, his guys would be getting their asses kicked as well," she says. "These are some serious hard cases…essentially, road pirates. They'll be trying to kill us, hard. Frankly, I wouldn't feel so bad about taking them down, to be honest…Otto's known for only running with hardened killers who've proved themselves." She chuckles. "I want the van," she says, simply.

"Sooo… We're doing Advanced Carjacking," Scurry says. "Okay, well, that'll work. Do the badlands have sand?" Scurry inquires. "Lost and I can make one hell of a dust storm."

Posh thinks for a moment. "Could either of you use magic to turn a vehicle on its side? What about earth sprouting up from under it, or it just being…pushed over with wind, or something like that?" she asks.

"I think there's plenty of dry earth and sand in the badlands," replies Posh to Scurry with a smile. "There's certainly no shortage of that."

"It's a fighting vehicle." Lost muses, nodding as she watches the feed, "And these guys seem to be tough customers, too. So… maybe we can figure out a way to avoid playing to their strengths? I mean, it occurs to me that if we engage them in this van, it's a pretty unfavorable engagement for us. I mean, yeah, Scurry can lob a couple lightning bolts at it," She begins, wiggling her fingers in greeting to her fellow elven mage before continuing, "But then we won't be able to drive it away. I think we need to engineer something along the way that'll cause them to stop and get out of the vehicle… maybe the guard who took a payoff would be willing to take another one from us? Force a 'random search' when the target comes through his checkpoint?" Looking to Posh, she shakes her head, "Megakinesis would do the trick, but I don't know it. An earth elemental might be able to dig a pit under it, but… again, that risks damaging the vehicle. But a dust storm might work… if visibility is bad enough for them, we might be able to sneak up on them, and a hand-to-hand fight might go better for us."

"Perhaps we simply need to add water, then. The vehicle will go nowhere if it has no traction. We can create a trap by compromising the ground with elemental spells. A few inches of quicksand might accomplish our goal and stop the convoy," Feather muses. "We could cover the visual presence of this hazard using something like a sandstorm."

"Huh," Scurry says. Then again… "Huh." He glances at Lost. "What if we planted Earth elementals like mines? When the vehicle passes over an elemental, it pounces and clings to the bottom? I have three earth elementals at my command."

Posh nods. "That's actually an excellent ideal, Lost," she says. "The vehicle itself is equipped with high powered sensors." She grins. "And if they have to open the doors so that their magic user can cast a spell," she says. "I see," she says. "In fact, the magic user won't be able to tell whether a hazard is magical at all, or anything like that, unless the vehicle is opened, right?" she asks. "So we set a sort of trap. Something that they will /have/ to have their mage investigate. Right?"

"How successfully could you make an illusion of a rockslide, with the road completely cut off?" Posh asks the two mages. "Something like that."

"Providing them a target, a reason to turn off the road or stop plays to the meta-aspect of the threat. All of these planned options would have an increased effect and possability of success." Krieg looks over the increasing number of people here. "It is possible the mage is equipped with an external targeting device. They are common in security and military grade vehicles."

"Astral vision doesn't work that way," Scurry says to Krieg. "Vision in the astral is not the product of light reception. Spectral observation, pardon the pun, doesn't work. So looking into a scope yields nothing. A massive illusion to that effect would work only on the rigger, but I couldn't cast it— it would be impossible to influence his or her mind from that distance."

Posh taps her cheek. "How difficult is one to install?" she asks.

Lost hmms at Scurry's suggestion, "I don't know if that would work. I mean, I imagine that thing can produce a lot of torque… the elementals might just end up getting ground to dust along the road. But… you can still use astral perception with a scope, as long as it uses optical magnification rather than electronic." Looking to Krieg, she nods, "That's pretty much what I'm thinking, it will be a lot easier for us to defeat the people inside the vehicle rather than the vehicle itself. Especially since we'd prefer to keep the good vehicle in good enough shape that we can drive away in it."

"She means a fiberoptic targeting device, I believe," Feather states flatly. "I dealt with corporate security using one, once. It is possible to target certain spells in that way."

"I still prefer my plan, out of these. Once the vehicles have come to a hard stop, it will be far easier to deal with the threats inside. If we simply divert the convoy or temporarily stop them, there is always a chance they will choose to retreat and drive away during the battle. If that happens, we will have lost our chance for good."

"I could always bake them alive," Scurry murmurs. "Vehicles always have armor, but they absorb heat like crazy. A nd that risks all the electronics and wiring."

Krieg nods, "Not everything is finger waggling."

"Slowing the vehicles with terrain and whatever added enviromental effects that can be created will be the most effective in preventing unintentional damage to them before the engagement. Only the main target vehicle will need to be treated in this manner." Krieg notes. "I am not sure of their magical capability, but they did cause the effects we saw demonstrated in the video."

Posh nods. "All right," she says. "I asked Rollo for a workup of the vehicle as he made it. No windows," she says. "Two sliding doors on the sides, with a door gun mount that can shoot out either side," she says. "A split door in the rear, the main entrance for the rear seats, set backs against each wall of the vehicle, facing in, one of which are metahuman adapted. There's another bench seat in front, where there are traditionally two buckets," she explains. "There was no partition between cabins in the vehicle, either." She ponders for a moment. "There was nothing at installation for magical targeting," she says, in addition. "But I don't know how easy that would be to install. I assume it wouldn't be a significant challenge, frankly. But then again, it's a closed vehicle, and I'm not sure he'd have wanted to make a hole in his new rig just because he's allied with a shaman now. That seems to have been the reason he turned on Rollo, by the way."

"I think that's what we should do," Feather states. "A combination of the ideas stated might be the best."

"Posh, you would need to acquire a reliable travel plan for the convoy. Once we have their route, we can scout it for a chokepoint. Yes, this is the badlands, but they will likely be following a specific path, especially if they are navigating at night. Are they? Regardless, if there is a narrow path somewhere along their route, perhaps in a canyon or gulch, we can lay a trap there."

"The mages would be doing our heavy lifting. They would need to devise a trap which would slow and then stop the vehicles, using elementals to do the required work. Probably eighteen inches deep and as wide as the entire path. If they can create a weather phenomenon to obscure its presence, they may not realize its presence until at least some of their vehicles are stopped. As a side benefit, this would provide a place for the elementals to hide before attacking."

"Krieg and I would provide cleanup with ranged fire when they leave the vehicles to attempt to dislodge themselves. Do you know how many men the opposition has at their disposal?"

"I think it would be possible…" Lost begins, "Making a mud or quicksand pit with elementals. I've only got one water elemental on call at the moment, but…" She ponders for a moment before nodding, "If it can disable the vehicle and get at least a couple of the passengers outside, though, I'd say it's worth using him. So… we stage a quicksand pit and wait close enough to ambush the vehicle when it stops. Then, once a couple of them disembark, we kick up a sand storm with an air elemental and then blitz 'em. Does that sound about right? Think we can pull something like that off?"

Posh nods. "We have a tipoff, given us by Rollo, based on the fact that the target has arranged for an change in the guard shift at a border stop about forty klicks away. So we know that the target will be passing through that checkpoint sometime during that guard's shift," she explains. "We can't get anything more precise, but at least that's something to work with. I figured we'd ride up and down that stretch of road for a few hours, stop at a diner alternately, that sort of thing," she says. "When we spot Otto and his gang with the van and MPUVs," she says, "whoever spots him starts to tail him from a distance. It looks like…"

Posh checks the map. "Here, about twenty miles up the road, is one of those badland areas, where the road gets crazy squiggly and the rodsides lead into almost vertical, solid rock. That's where the mages should be waiting, and as soon as we start making contact, they create their pit as soon as the last of the traffic past them goes. It'll be at night, but there'll be a lot of starlight, so you with elven eyes should be fine," she says, with a nod," shedding a little more light on the situation. "All right. So once the vehicle is stopped, and someone steps out of the van, what do we do?" she asks. "I think I could stay camouflaged, and could reliably destroy one of the MPUVs myself," she she says. "Based on the video, the outrider vehicles are not rigged, but their gunners are cybered up."

"Smaller than two strands of human hair in an enclosed armor hardened optics system. It would be something to look into if you commonly assosciate with those capable of such abilities." Krieg looks over those there with such abilities. "Protecting valuable assets within the armored envelope is a priority for security and military teams. I would agree that doing so would be a benefit." She retreives a small pouch of some from of candy from her pocket and begins munching on them. "Disembarking from an armored vehicle which has not come under effective fire and been disabled from engaging the enemy is unlikely." She eats another fruitsnack like candy. "We may have to wait them out and not engage immediatly, allow them to beleive it is a local phenomenon and not an attack. This will create the opening we need when they then attempt to dislodge the vehicles."

Posh nods. "Is there any way to call in a sudden rainstorm to cover this, with a ritual?" she asks.

"How long will it take to create the hazard?" Feather asks. "I thought we would need time to set the trap. I do not know how quickly these elemental spirits can work, but I did not think it would be doable on the fly."

"What about creating a social situation, then, as Krieg suggested?" Posh asks. "In conjunction with your situation. What about a pickup truck crashed across the road, temporarily blocking it entirely?" she asks. "I mean, if timed right that could work straight up. But it's possible they'd immediately engage whoever it was. Still, they'd have to probably emerge from their vehicles in order to try to start dragging it away, right?" she asks.

«Plot» Posh says, "Present idea: Using earth and water elementals to create an impassable hazard at a chokepoint in the road. Engage when/if they emerge from the stopped vehicle."

ground?" she asks. "The ground will collapse, like…sort of like a sinkhole," she says. "It can't climb the lip, so they get up, start trying to figure something. A sinkhole could also be /totally/ natural," she says.

"Just leave a shell of ground, and then it will fall in, and he will brake himself on the flat, lower ground. It just needs to be like four feet deep, dug just below the ground," she says.

"A rainstorm ritual?" Lost asks, arching a brow at Posh, "I think that's more something a shaman might do." She adds with a grin before looking to Feather with a shrug, "They can dig quite quickly… shouldn't need more than a few minutes to prepare a pit, and presumably a water elemental should be able to muddy it up or make quicksand… but I've never tried something like this before, so I can't exactly say if it's possible /or/ how long it would take." Looking back to Posh, she nods, "That'd be easier to do, dig something just under the road or ground or whatever, with just enough solid ground on top that it'll stay that until a heavy vehicle trundles over."

"Then afterwards, just have the elementals dig a ramp," Posh continues. "Have them stand shoulder to shoulder, just under ground. As soon as we see the target vehicles, the elementals just start trundling forward. Leave just six inches of ground on top, there's no way that'd stand up under the weight of a van," she says. "The ground will collapse and the van will fall a few feet. At that point he's going to brake instead of just plow into the new wall right in front of him."

Posh beams brightly. "I really think we're onto something," she says. "I'll get my gyrojets. You'll make a mudhole and Senshi will hide in the part of it just closest to their approach, so he'll be right there. Feather will install mines on the side of the road to create confusion as they disembark. The vehicle will slop into a cushy mudhole, breaking through the untouched road above it and be quickly stopped, and then afterwards, you can ask an earth elemental to pull the van out," she says. "All right? I've got Sara to transport us nearby; Feather and I can take our bikes," she says. "All right then."

Posh shakes her head. "Not long enough to get a zapper rocket or something. This info is only good for a day or so," she says.

Posh nods. "All right. Well, that'll be able to confuse the issue. Mines, smoke grenades. We can get into the area a few hours ahead of time," she says. "If they can dig fast, then we'll notify you when the last civilian vehicle that passes by will be available, but traffic should be quite low," she says. "It's likely we'll contact that," she says. "If you can kick up a storm so I don't have to use the smoke grenades, that would be even better," she says. "I'll be able to see in it with thermographic vision."

"I beleive that would signifigantly reduce the enemies combat effectiveness." Krieg listens to the going ons..still working a bit on her own things.

Posh nods. "It might also reduce mine too. Then again, I can probably get through that anyway…shoot at the center mass outlines," she says. "All right," she says. "In any case, I think we'd better get going if we're not going to be late. Let's stop by my stash, we can pick up some mines, and you can do the dust storm," she says, with a smile. "Then we can use these elementals and see if we can stay alive through this one. Remember. These guys are pretty serious hardcases. If we're going to assault them, let's use this advantage of surprise and manipulated natural phenomena as best as we can."

It's a reasonably long trip down there, a few hours into the afternoon from the noontime that everyone left Denver, in Sara's van, Posh and Feather on their bikes. Sara leads them through some back roads through slightly busier border checks to head out, and then it's the long ride southwest to the New Mexico badlands.

Evening is setting in as everyone arrives. Approximately twenty miles northeast there is a rest stop with a roadside diner; which is about two miles up the road from the warren of tight New Mexico, at least as it used to be called, turns and steep rock walls that the road spaghettis through. Posh smiles as she steps out of the diner, five styrofoam coffees in a cardboard container. "The soykaf smelled good," she says. "Anyway, I suppose Feather and I will be riding our bikes up and down the road, southwest. I suppose you three," she says, nodding to Krieg, who's got Senshi hidden in Sara's van, as well as to Lost and Scurry, "will have to go get into position, and find a good spot to carve the earth underneath and replace it with some serious water," she says. "A mud sinkhole, just under the surface of the road. How much warning time do you need?" she asks. "We'll probably be able to give you about twenty minutes, or so it seems," she says. "Once we pick them up. Think that'll work?"

Having been a touch antsy in the van for the entire ride, Lost is grateful for an opportunity to stretch her legs and have a calming cup of soykaf, stepping out of the vehicle as Posh fetches coffees. She spends a moment pacing around, staring at the ground before hauling herself back into the van, taking one of the cups from Posh, "Thanks!" She adds with a smile before relaxing in her seat, lifting the lid of her coffee briefly to blow on the liquid, waiting for it to reach a palatable temperature before taking a long slurp. Looking back to Posh, she nods, "Should be plenty of time. Earth elementals move earth a lot faster than, you know, even a team of big, burly orks with shovels. Maybe not as fast as construction equipment, but…" She shrugs, "Twenty minutes hould be more than enough time for us to dig the quicksand trap and find a good ambush spot."

Posh nods. "If you already have the elementals summoned," she says. "All right, I suppose, each of you can ride on the back of one of our bikes to the spot, and Senshi can just…sneak and follow on foot. I've seen him run. He's /quick./" She grins at Scurry, who's drawn a chalk circle on the floor of Sara's van. "Up to some hoodoo?" she asks, nodding to Feather. "I'll take the first shift watching, so that you can plant mines, too."

Scurry beckons for Lost to come join him. Each cardinal direction as the latin word for an elemental written on it. Scurry calls out to activate his Earth, Water and Air elementals.

«Plot» Scurry says, "Scurry ICly has his Air, Water, and Earth elementals activated."

Feather rides, making perhaps too good a time on this kind of terrain, her bike screaming through the Badlands with a trail of dust behind it. When she finally arrives, she parks her bike in a discrete spot and takes a moment to check her armaments one last time. And then she starts to draw out a basic diagram in the ground with a branch, apparently plotting for herself just how their trap is going to look.

Lost quirks a brow at Scurry, but decides to join in the other elf's impromptu summoning ritual nonetheless. Taking a breath, she focuses and flicks her wrist, a trio of elementals of similar types forming behind her in the astral. For those capable of seeing them, the water elemental stands out the most of the three, large, imposing, but… it has a face that seems to permanently sport what can only be described as a vapid smile.

Krieg gets brought along for the ride for now. "So, once the Elementals are done, you would like me to emplace mines in the effected area?" She asks while continueing to munch on some candy." Senshi should be capable of emplacement in the area with my guidance once we are ready."

"We'll set the mines off to the side of the their travel route." Feather starts to draw X's in the ground to indicate locations and directions. "That will avoid their vehicles setting off the mines. They will then hopefully hit them on foot when they disembark." Looking over to the side, she points to a large rock several meters off the path. "That should be good enough for cover for you to wait behind, Posh. We'll plant a mine in front of it. If they charge, they should eat the blast. It is vitally important that you remember the /exact/ location of each mine, though. You will need to remember the safezones to operate against them. They're directional mines, so you won't take any damage if you're a minimal distance behind them, but that also means their forward range will be longer. Senshi is the only one who will operate with impunity here. In fact, he can likely set off the mines at will, once the enemies are in the right position. I've selected a fragmentation gauge that will not penetrate his armor."

"Remember. Be patient and stay out of sight. We are relying on their assumption that this is a natural phenomenon to draw them out."

Posh nods. "All right," she says. "I'll do my best to stay out of sight once I catch them, but remember. You're going to have to find a way to not get picked up on vehicle sensors, probably," she says. "If you stay hidden behind rocks and the like, is that feasible?"

Commlink-Krieg> Krieg sends, « Please verify communications channels. Also, it is possible to evade sensors to some degree through obfuscation. Remaining out of Line of Sight will limit their effectiveness, but not eliminate. Thermal reduction, radar reduction, sound reduction, etc. Will assist. »

The redheaded elf is astride her bike, a closed face helmet held in her hand, as she watches the others. She's brought a double rig with her gyrojets loaded with PLUS rounds, and also four of her Supermach pistols, all loaded with flechettes. She waves goodbye to Sara as she starts to head away, taking a look at the makeshift 'Xs'. "You've got it. Elementals are all already in place?" she asks, with a grin, ready to set off and take the first surveying shift.

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Check. »

Commlink-Scurry> Scurry sends, « COmmunication verified. I am with Lost. We will commence digging immediately. Please keep us informed." »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Don't dig till we get the target in sight and we are sure we're not going to trap another vehicle. Just have them there, waiting. »

Commlink-Memory> Lost sends, « Roger that, will start digging when you give us the word. »

Civilian traffic through the area is light and proggressively slowing as night falls. Eventually it's well over ten minutes, on average, between vehicles passing back and forth. Most of them are light transport trucks, ferrying good to some of the small settlements in the area, likely.

Commlink-Krieg> Krieg sends, « Emplacement of mines will take some time. Would you like me to begin? They should be outside the normal routes of travel for non-target vehicles. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « It seems like a tight fight. Make sure they wouldn't be activated by passing traffic. I don't know how they'll be triggered otherwise. Can you remotely arm them? »

The roadway itself loops back and twists through a channel blasted out in the nineteenth century. It average more steeply than a 40 degree angle up from about a meter on either side of the roadway in the vicinity of the bend that has been chosen as the ambush spot.

Commlink-Krieg> Krieg sends, « I do not beleive these models are set with sensor enhanced targeting. They will either be emplaced or not, I can attempt to ensure they are not triggered by passing traffic. This will cause them to be clustered along the shoulder areas. I cannot entirely remove the possability of accidental detonation. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « How long does it take to emplace them? »

Commlink-Feather> Feather sends, « The mines I selected from your armory can be set to be remotely-triggered. That's likely the safest option, to avoid collateral damage. We can leave detonation at your discretion, Krieg. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « They do need wiring or a radio. I have a taccomm. You could probably connect the detonator wires to them, and have them go all at once on a signal, if they try to run off the road. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « It's with my stuff in the van, I can have Sara drop it off. »

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Check out the Vuitton purse in the passenger seat footwell »

«Plot» Posh says, "Krieg can hook a radio to the detonation wires, which are configured to respond to 6 different signals. With a Complex Action, she can detonate any combination of the mines, as these AP standard mines, non-aerodynamic, can be set to trigger on an electrical signal."

With direction to where the goodies are Krieg begins working on the various device components.

Scurry extends his arm to Lost. "Darling?" He inquires. "Shall we?"

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « I think they might have spotted me. I'm slowing to not tail. But I don't have eyes on them. »

Feather finds her vantage point. And then she digs in, quite literally, insulating herself with a few inches of earth to conceal herself from thermal detection, laying there motionlessly. "I'm ready," she says over comms.

Lost chuckles and takes Scurry's arm with a grin, "Yes, I think we shall." Between the two of them, it should be easier to navigate the terrain /and/ find a nice safe spot to lie in wait for an ambush.

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Their guns are not mounted. They must be keeping them inside the MPUVs. It only takes a bit to put a gun on like that, though. Oh crap. I think they are getting a little spooked. They're mounting the guns on their pintle mounts. Well, might as well keep them in sight. They're not pointing at me or anything. »

Krieg makes sure she is tucked away properly in the vehicle and assists Senshi in finding and creating a proper hiding spot to reduce Senshi bloom by going passive.

«Plot» Posh says, "Enemies are now Suspicious. Etiquette and negotiation tests are at +4 TN"

Once in the little cubby, Lost settles down, hugging her knees to her chest as she keeps her focus on the road and the sinkhole she and Scurry have made. Without turning her attention from that spot, she muses to Scurry, "Let's hope this works…"

Commlink-Scurry> Scurry sends, « Posh, hang back. We don't need you up here anyways. »

When Posh hangs back, instead of planning to try to do some rip-roaring moves that would convince them that she's just a thrill seeker, she loses sight of the enemies. «All right. Going at last known speed. At present rate, I'm going about 70 km/h now.» she comms.

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « All right. Enemies out of sight. Contact expected in 5 minutes. »

«Plot» Posh says, "A single signature on only one target at this point could just be an animal. Feather spots the convoy now, but it seems to be proceeding at regular speed, unmolested. The van is in the lead, which is something, but not unlikely with someone with the personality of Otto, with two MPUvs following, the one with the assault cannon mounted in the middle. The gunners seem to be alert, tatcical helmets and obvious armoring, as well as glimpses of clunky, obvious, but effective chrome, suggest that they are likely well-chosen. Feather has dug herself in about twenty meters away from the trap, in the direction they are coming. Soon, afterwards, she can see Posh approaching in the distance.

It's almost anticlimactic. As the van travels over the area of weakend ground, it suddenly falls in, rapidly slowing with a disgusting sounding burble. In order to stop crashing into the van they are following, both drivers of the MPUVs skitter and scree, braking hard, trying not to crash!"

«Plot» Posh says, "There's nothing to avoid. I don't see how they could have got a tipoff of this trap in advance."

Commlink-Scurry> Scurry sends, « At your command, I can have a physical barrier atop that sunken vehicle, Posh. »

Inside the little pit, that's created, the van seems to quickly, rapidly slow, well before it hits the other end of the pit. However, there's really not much it can do in there, right now, as the van can't climb. One of the MPUVs screeches to a stop outside the pit, while the other hits it just as the brakes were stopped, one end was locked, and it smacks into the back of the van.

«Plot» Posh says, "He didn't declerate fact enough until he collided with the van"

Scurry begins to file his cuticles in boredom. "Gray or black?" He mouths to Lost, displaying his fingernails for her to see; the question obviously

Lost is a little more interested in watching the van lodge itself in the quicksand pit. Unfortunately, it's not as exciting a collision as she might have hoped. Looking a touch disappointed, she turns to Scurry, glancing at his fingernails briefly, "Hmm…" She whispers back, "Depends on the outfit. Black tends to go with more things, though."

The vehicles bump and grind each other in the mud…they don't seem to have caused much damage to each other, but both the MPUV and the van are tactically stuck in the sinkhole, mud up to their axles. They're going to have to figure something out it seems. The MPUV that didn't fall in screeches up. "Hey what the fuck is going on up there?" she asks.

«Plot» Posh says, "There's a van, and 4 people visible. No doubt at least 6."

«Plot» Posh says, "Driver and gunner for each MPUV. Rigger (Otto) and his mage buddy for the van, and whoever else they have in there."

Feather can see the light of Posh's still approaching bike. She hasn't sped up or anything.

After a few seconds, approximately thirty, the side door of the van slides open. There is a bearded, bushy figure there at the door gun, looking /very/ suspicious, and he seems to be conversing with a mohawked figure. There's another guy in there: a huge troll who'd been hunched over in there, sitting on the reinforced seat, with riot shield and shotgun. He opens the back doors to exit, looking around. "Everybody. Eyes peeled," says the big troll, and Otto nodds. "All right, get us lifted out, T," he says. "And anyone who shows up dies. No fucking around…"

«Plot» Posh says, "All of them successfully soaked their M wounds"

Scurry writes ont he ground again near Lost: When all are on ground, earth ellies pull ankles hard into quicksand.

The rear gunner nods, and turns his machine gun to the sound of the approaching bike, waiting…ready, apparently to execute the 'innocent' biker who might come upon the wrong scene. And then…then Feather sees the highlight of the headlight, right as Posh starts to round the corner…

The gunners have all affixed their weapons to their vehicles: the one with the assault cannon is in the middle, its LOS blocked directly in front by the van. Feather's attack is well aimed, the elf's eyes widening in surprise for a heartbeat before the arrowhead enters his throat. That heartbeat ends soon after the shaft heads through the base of his skull, and he slips into the mud, almost entirely bloodlessly. It's unlikely he's getting up. And that's when all hell breaks loose. They were able to see the direction of the arrow, and the arrow wasn't covered in ruth, so the machine gunner swings his weapon around, laying down suppressive fire, while the gunner of the PAC holds fire, looking for a target…

The first gunner, with his cannon, cannot see anything directly to shoot, so he continues to sweep around, holding action. The same is true for the shotgun, who immediately starts to trundle forward, but he's heavily slowed by the ankle deep (For him) mud. Otto, however, bursts out along with the gunner, opening fire in the general vicinity of where the arrow camefrom, unaware that one of those 'educated guess' bullets hit true.

The driver of the non-stuck MPUV puts his vehicle in reverse, trying to open up the range and get a better angle on Feather, while the driver of the stuck one dismounts and grabs an SMG from the dashboard.

«Plot» Lost is telling her elemental to kick up sandstorms.

«Plot» Posh says, "The dust storm counts as heavy smoke, and also lowers the light level to Minimal Light through occlusion. Use the worse vision mod between Minimal Light and Hvy Smoke, for your vision type."

«Plot» Lost says, "Err. Stunball, I mean."

Hearing the go order, Lost replies quickly, « Roger, kicking up some dust. » With that said, she turns to her nearby air elemental and gives it a command, "Kick up the winds, make it so they can't see." It seems to consider this for a moment, glancing at the terrain appraisingly before breezing off to do her bidding. Whipping itself into a whirlwind, nearby sand and debris, not to mention the smoke and dust kicked up from the mine detonations starts to swirl about the area, making the already bad invisibility even worse. With that accomplished, Lost peeks just a touch out of her cubby hole, taking aim at the mooks caught in the trap with a pretty heavy duty stunball.

«Plot» Posh says, "Gunner1 with PAC has S stun. Gunner 2 and Driver 2 are just fine in their MPUV. That's it."

The sound of a Triumph engine suddenly screaming as it nears the redline can be heard.

Otto screams, eletricity arcing through his teeth as Scurry's lightning bolt catces him in a direct, fatal hit. He's faced a lot of opposition before, but the real mistake was to be lulled into using the easy magical solution to the problem of the mudtrap. If the shaman had been up to counter that spell…if.

The augmented gunner in the MPUV, however, seems to be unharmed, looking around, a little surprised. Lost knows there can be only one reason for that: A pain editor!

Senshi quickly moves from his hiding place to the front side of the Van. The previous sensor feeds help guide his actions, peering around the corner of the van mommentarily he applies a retical overlay on the opposing Gunner. His Smartlinked LMG confirming the target as he leans out just far enough to engage, a cone of fire roaring out towards the enemy vehicle, impacting across the upper armor and gunners location.

The gunner with the PAC is shaken as suddenly Senshi pops out, its bullets striking him in the chest and making him shudder, and he tries to bring his weapon to bear against the drone.

Meanwhile, accelerating, the Triumph with Posh aboard, a pair of gyrojets out, focusing on the MPUV with the machine gunner, that had helped to suppress Feather. She's got her datajack hooked into her bike, and fortunately is riding hands free. Two pairs of PLUS rounds arc out from those deadly weapons as she takes a pair of shots rounding the bend at about forty meters, the rockets accelerating to hypersonic speed sent towards the MPUV's engine block.

The MPUV careens out and explodes as the vehicle shreds and comes to a complete stop, slowing after its brief acceleration, one of the errant hypersonic rounds shattering the MPUV's glass. With its armor rent from shrapnel and the destruction of its engine, it is now little more than a hulk that provides a tripod and partial cover for its occupants.

The gunner curses, spitting a number of rounds directly at Posh's bike in revenge.

Feather struggles to stay on her feet, feeling that distinct pain that tells her she has been shot, once more feeling her spreading blood starting to soak the inner layer of her armor. Her objective was simple. The shaman was the only one who could extract them from the trap. The shaman was the only one who could counter their elementals. And Feather's? Well, she is the assassin. Killing such a target was her pride, and her responsibility to the team. Whatever the cost.

But the return fire was no fun at all.

She has played her part. Now it's time to avoid becoming a burden by going down. She bites down hard on her lip to keep herself quiet, sliding her bow back into her weapon case. She reflexively releases a different compartment and draws her grenade launcher, aiming it into the fray, laying herself a smokescreen as she begins to run for cover. She speaks into her comm, calling for her bike to home in on her GPS signal.

Posh's bike is shredded with the incoming LMG fire, its engine breaking itself apart as high powered bullets slam into the shield and frame. With great fortune, pehrhaps, Posh manages to bring the thing to a stop, cursing as she's tethered to the damn thing by a datajack cable, leaving her stationary.

That leaves a chance for the gunner of the other vehicle to swing his Panther cannon directly at her, taking a moment to aim at her outline through the haze and squeezing off a shot. As deadly as he can make it.

But Posh had managed to see it pointing towards her, and had /just/ barely managed to dive before the round devastates the air just above her.

While this is happening, the driver grabs an SMG off the passenger seat and dives his way out of the devastated MPUV with deadly intent. This is clearly quickly becoming a war zone, with now two shattered and smoking vehicles near the mud trap.

The corpse of Ollo, cooked by Scurry's lightning bolt, hisses in the mud where it had plopped, an unhealthy shade of roasted as he sizzles there, his rigging and raiding career ended this day. Looks like Rollo's reach is indeed deep.

Senshi takes advantage of the distraction caused by Posh's arrival. As the Gunner swings to engage the target Senshi directs a long burst of fire into his exposed back. The LMG's round counter pinging down quickly as the belted munitions draw out of thir assault pack. The target appears to react favorably in a warm red mist in response.

As the battle rages on, Lost sticks as close to her cover as possible, not at all eager to expose herself to any of the heavy weapons fire coming from what remains of the convoy. As Posh and Krieg do most of the heavy lifting, though, she finds herself with an opportunity to sling another stunball in the direction of the two remaining baddies. The driver, already reeling, is knocked cleanly unconscious, slumping in what remains of his seat in the shattered vehicle. The gunner may be made of sterner stuff… or simply has a pain editor. Either way, though he might still be standing, he's certainly not having a very good day. And, in all likelihood, it's about to get worse.

«Plot» Posh says, "Krieg: Gunner did not shoot directly at you, and has fired this round. His cover mod is now +2 instead of +4."

Senshi continues his previous assault on the Gunner, barraging his position with directed fire. With the heavy cover and obscured visual it's difficult to get a proper lock on him, the SL retical bloomed to a small area instead of a pinpoint dot.

«Plot» Krieg says, " Engage Gunner."

«Plot» Posh says, "Roll it up."

The round counter continues down as Senshi observes several of the projectiles successfully impacting their target.

Posh painfully rises to her feet, looking down at the smoking remains of her bike. "Well, shit," she says, looking around, as the battlefield grows quiet. "Feather! Feather!" she says, looking around.

Scurry begins to scrub his magical signature, heart thudding as he realizes the scale of weaponry on display.

His earth elemental simply grabs under the bumper of the van, at his command, and startso to pull…harder and harder, until slowly the van starts to move, brought up out of there.

Posh looks a little tiredly. "Is…is there any Is there any way to bury those goddamn things?" she asks. "Along…along with Otto and his boys?" she asks. "The truck too."

Posh looks around. "The gyrojets will be a little nonstandard, but I suppose…I suppose that…it'll just look like a serious drug runner fight…"

Feather keeps staggering away. "I'm hit. It is bad. Really bad," she says over comms. Her pain is obvious. "I have called my bike. I think I can make it home." An uncertain pause. "Maybe." She doesn't sound very good, though. She struggles toward cover, clambering up the slope. And finally, her bike crawls close enough, its ruthenium disengaging, its low-beams turning on. She hops on. "Do we have a doctor in the group?"

As silence falls on the scene, Lost peeks her head out again. « We clear? » She asks, waiting for a response before busying herself by beginning to scrub the astral signatures of the spells she had cast. After a moment, though, she grows frustrated, "Ugh… Scurry, could you give me a hand with the signatures, please?" With the two of them working together, however, it doesn't take much longer for the immediate area to be cleared of the magical evidence the group had left behind. « Stay where you are, there's no sense in leaving a trail of blood behind you. And we certainly wouldn't want you to pass out enroute. »

Posh quickly injects herself with nanites, taking the monitor control system connecting to the syringe and beginning to calibrage. She quickly adjusts and reroutes circulation to her wounds, the bullets literally broken down and sealed by the carefully adjusted nanites, at least, leaving painful but at least empty wounds.

She pulls out a hit of novacoke to steady herself, snorts off her hand, and then begins to work on Feather, a little hyper, but without the effect of any limitations to her skills.

Posh smiles reassuringly at Feather as she catches her up. "Hey. Look at me," she says, trying to distract her before jabbing her with the needle and beginning the same process.

«Plot» Posh says, "Posh treated to L. Feather treated to M. Lost, it's up to you now."

Krieg finds an open datajack port, that she'll be able to enter. She curses as she takes one look in the back of the van and realizes that it's not going to fit. "Fuck," she says. "No," she says. "Take all the undetonated mines and blow it. I don't see how the van could carry Senshi and…and the bike," she says. "It's too loaded down with armor."

«Plot» Posh says, "Krieg finds out that, in fact, all three of its seats are folding. There's about 775kg total for the bike and Senshi."

Commlink-Krieg> Krieg sends, « This Motorcycle appears to be missing a signifigant portion of it's operational weight. With some manipulation I beleive I can stow it within the van. »

Lost rejoins the rest of the group, her attention focused on Feather. After Posh finishes administering first aid, the dark-haired elf casts a quick healing spell on Feather, her skin knitting back together in a manner befitting… well, magic. "That oughta do." She adds with a smile. Looking to Posh, she tilts her head, "So, Feather and Senshi on her bike, the rest of us in the van, yeah?" That said, she hauls herself into the back of the van, claiming a seat, hopefully one that doesn't have any blood or anything on it.

Now patched-up, Feather seems to be on her second wind. She drifts down to the downed bike on her own still pristine vehicle. There she brings to bear her considerable strength, her adept powers pushing her to the very envelope of human or elven strength, loading the trashed bike and a few scattered parts into the back of the van after folding down the seats.

Posh gives a grateful smile to Feather. "Well," she says. "Thank you very much. I do indeed appreciate it," she says, a little surprised as Feather displays even more strength than she is capable of, which is not inconsiderable. "I agree with you," she says, hopping on the back of the bike, cuddling in. "Well," she says. "Anyway, take this route into the city. Sara's helped make sure it'll be open. I'll meet you all at Rollo's."

Senshi conducts a final check before preparing for departure as well.

Scurry takes a moment to sterilize the interior of the vehicle magically. "I bet that rigger smelled," he says, taking a seat next to Lost. "Plus, I'm pretty sure he might have smoked a cigar or two in here," he says.

Sara turns and nods to Krieg. "All right, lil' missy. We goin' now." And the van drives off from the service center a couple miles away. She must have gotten a quick pocsec message from Posh that it's time for the return back to Denver.

As they all drive off into the distance, a stillness desends upon a site of recent carnage. Bodies laying motionless in the desert enviroment. The only sound a faint electronic device triggering before an Explosion rocks the site from 4 sides. With the shockwave thumping the sides of the escaping vehicles Krieg nods to Sara, "Thank you for the Ride again."

Lost smirks at Scurry, buckling her seatbelt, "We'll get this van nice and clean, Scurry. Don't you worry. I mean, Posh is gonna claim it for herself, so… I'm sure she'll get it detailed, inside and out." With that said, she sighs, sinking into her seat and closing her eyes, dozing into a cat nap on the ride back to Denver.
