Frank and Kellogg: Hitmen at DC

Synopsis:
Frank stops at Dangerous Curves to buy some parts with his Old-Lady (Ingrid, NPC +sheet contact). Ingrid though has a problem with some people that have been trying to kill her (assumed). A van of badies show up to end her life and Kellogg has them retreat into the business.. defensive posture. Shotgun blasting, injuries on both sides. Enemy gets leg blown off, other shot up pretty bad also. Two try to attack through rear entrance and are repelled.
Enemy retreats… Kellogg and Company hide illegal guns and equipment just before the cops show up.
Investigation is done, none arrested. Cops take shotguns that the badies left behind.

Dangerous Curves

One can pass through the open gap in the chain-link fence and approach Dangerous Curves, at any time, the later 'S' stylized as a playful outline in black with a white-dashed center line, suggesting a curved road. There are a few cars in the lot and a row of bikes lined up over by the doorway under the watchful eye of a security camera. Even at night, the shop is sometimes busy, as is often the case in the auto service field, to meet obligations to customers, light shining onto the parking lot and the unoccupied cars awaiting there from an open bay door or from the office glass. By daytime the cracks in the pavement and the general shabbiness of the area are apparent, but there's a snazzy new sign and it seems like paint gets slapped on often enough at least.
Inside the office, there's a few tires hanging in a display against one wall, their tread depth and water sluicing capabilities advertised by a sleazy model on a grainy display screen with a crack in the corner. There are images of aggressively styled SUV and trucks with big chunky off-road tires, as well as motorbikes from cafe racers to chrome-laden choppers. A desk with a slightly less utilitarian chair than those reserved for waiting customers is there, but it's clear that this is a shop for gearheads: the magazines on the coffee table are all vehicle-related. Despite the bit of wear and tear, it seems that the office is kept spotless, just like the rest of the shop, although that's more of a relative then absolute term given the occasional coffee stain on the carpet and of course on the concrete floor of the workshop. There's a bowl of candies in twisted wrappers on the table, and a number of scented candles on the desk, oddly light touches for such a heavy metal environment. Accessible through a door from the office, and also through the three bays on the left, there's the service center, where cars can be driven in and lifted up for easy access. One of the bays appears to be more suited for smaller, more precise work, given its display screens and smaller tools.

Outside Dangerous Curves the rattle of an old motorcycle can be heard chugging up towards the building and then being shut off. Atop the bike is a Hells Angels guy with a leather jacket/cut with the patch "Nomad" across the bottom rocker instead of the local "Colorado".

On the back of the bike is a beautiful girl around 18 yrs old with her legs up around his waist and on the gas tank and har arms wrapped around him while she leans forward against him.

Safety Note: The bike is not designed for a passenger.. very dangerous crazy ganger stuff.

Kellogg is a little sore from the latest surgery he did with Posh's help, but the new system was integrated well and he seemed to be doing fine from it. As such, he'd head out from that bay he was working in, ducking under the door to peer at who was showing up. Leaning up against the wall by the bay, he'd watch the guy, the girl and the bike. He mostly remembered the bike. But that guy was the rider, right? Yeah.. something like that. "Hoi chummer. Ya come ta get 'er tuned up? Or mebbe some upgrades ta it so it ain't rattlin so much?"

Frank lets Ingrid dismount before he turns off the bike and then gets off the bike himself. He pops the helmet off at the quick disconnect strap and puts the helmet hanging on the throttle grip as he dismounts with a smile. He lets Ingrid fall behind him a pace or two as is customary for the ladies in a motorcycle club showing respect for their men.

Frank takes off his sunglasses and his gloves (another MC show of respect) and then offers a hand out to Kellogg, "Frank… Hells Angel Nomad," his introdution (more MC tradition).

Kellogg watches, straightening up as Frank goes through the official routine. Kellogg carefully wipes his hands off on his grease rag, trying to match the respect given before shaking Frank's hand. "Hoi. I'm just Kellogg chummer. I'm in good with the Los Reyes Diablo. Pretty good with the AAC too, wiz?"

Frank nods, "Very respectable, pleased to meet you again Kellogg," and that done.. he really relaxes a great deal more now, "This is my old lady," he offers and then Ingrid steps forward and offers a big smile and a nod of her head but not a handshake (more MC etiquette).

Kellogg smiels back to Frank and nods. Then gives a nod back to Ingrid, he doesn't try asking for a handshake from her either. Once they're more relaxed, Kellogg leans back up against that wall again with a chuckle. "A'right.. So ya decide ta take me up on the offer ta help yer bike? I know ifn ya give me a bit of time I could probably get it workin a lot smoother, wiz?"

Frank grins wide, "Ole' Rusty? Nah.. she's just the way I want her. I need her sounding crappy when I pull up some place and leave her on the street. Nobody wants her. It's my safe ride I don't need to worry about people lifting." He takes a glance back at her, "She's beautiful to me though."

Ingrid snuggles up to his side and holds his left hand but stays a half step back as she looks around.. an extra set of eyes for safety on the neighborhood.

Frank offers, "I was wondering if you has any synthetic oil I could buy off you. I also was hoping to find a marine quality 2-pole toggle switch that would be okay if it got wet in the rain. I want to replace the ignition switch on the bike so I can get rid of the key.. just a toggle switch to start it.. and I'll hide a kill switch elsewhere on the bike. So.. two toggle switches if you might have them around."

Ingrid seems a little concerned about the neighborhood. A backfire from a car half a block away causes her to start just slightly and also causes Frank to look that way. It's as if the two have been through some drama lately.

Kellogg nods in response. "Wiz. Totally chummer. Can getcha the oil and the switches.. ya think of mebbe gettin an induction pad and linkin it ta yer biometrics? Can easily just slap yer hand on it, it reads it and ya start 'er up. Ain't gotta worry 'bout someone comin in and crackin it then.." Kellogg chuckles with a shake of his head. "But that'll make people wonder ifn they see somethin shiney like that, I'm guessin." He glances over at the sound, but doesn't seem bothered. This is his turf, so to speak, afterall.

Frank listens and seems to like the information and the way Kellogg is thinking but seems to also have come to the same conclusion after the idea is talked through. He starts to walk with Kellogg towards the door, Ingrid moving to the other side of Frank so she's not between them.

Down the street (not the direction of the backfire earlier) a dark brown panel van seems to be driving just a bit too slow.. it sort of sticks out as a car beeps a horn at it and quickly darts around it while giving a middle finger salute in the air as they lift their left hand out the drivers window as they are passing.

The astute (TN 8: +rolls above) notice that the driver and passenger are waring black hooded masks. Now that's seriously a red-flag warning right there. And.. they are looking at the three in front of Dangerous Curves as the driver is pulling the steering wheel for a turn into the Dangerous Curves parking lot.

Kellogg notices as they reach the front door Frank and Ingrid urgently looking back at the road. The van is noticed by Kellogg, just not the masked people inside.

Kellogg frowns at the van that's going too slow. Well that ain't right. He'd hussle the other two in that front door, ducking inside himself quickly. "Oi! Lookin like someone mebbe wantin ta play. Ya boys get ready!" Kellogg would call out to the other workers, glancing at Frank and Ingrid he'd motion to the side. "Stay low. Ifn they try this, they'll find out why this curve is dangerous.."

The van's engine revs as it picks up speed, charging the front of the business.

Frank and Ingrid get inside quick. As they do, Frank pulls out a pistol that was concealed under his jacket, several quick looks back show his attention is on the van and not on Kellogg and the men in the shop. Frank gets inside and pulls Ingrid in, protecting her.

Kellogg would be fast to get to one of the counters. Going behind it while he'd draw his own ares. Grumbling, he'd use the counter to make sure they aren't going to get an easy shot on him while he'd wait for the van to hit, then he'd unload on the driver as soon as he can make out whoever it is inside the van.

The van turns sharp (pull back side door) away from the shop. It appears they are not ramming the business, but bringing the van in very close and then going to use it as cover as they pile out the passengers side of the vehicle away from the storefront.

Frank tries to get Ingrid further away from the front door but she pauses, "They're going to use the van for cover.. going to try to make it so they can't…."

With that, Ingrid focuses her eyes on the van, waves both hands in front of her at the vehicle and as she does her face seems to grow black feathers and a black beak (like a Raven).. just a moment and it's gone as if your eyes are playing tricks.

Out in the parking lot the van is obscured by a thick smoke cloud (F1 Smoke Cloud), providing thick churning smoke that makes the van hard to see… and thus.. those in the cloud hard to find a target through the windows of the building. Making it hard for them to shoot unless they leave the protection of the van.

Kellogg eyes the van outside, turned smoke cloud. He nods and turns to the terminal to try and get it switched over to that security. Something doesn't seem to work quite right though, having him glare at the terminal. "hey! Stupid drekkin hunk of junk, work!"

Frank manages to get Ingrid back away from the window/door now.

Ingrid calls to the room, "It will only last a minute without me concentrating on it… I'm so sorry.. we haven't figured out who's been trying to kill us yet.. I'm so sorry for bringing this drek here."

Frank uses his body as a shield to protect her and get her into the back hall to the employees breakroom and he stays at the entrance of the hall and kneels down with his pistol at the ready. He calls over to Kellogg, "What you need me to do Kellogg?"

Yelling outside can be heard, overtalking each other in excitement and frustration.

Kellogg thumps the terminal, then gives up on it with a shake of his head. "Stay low. Ifn we dun got a shoot out, we dun gotta deal with the cops, wiz?" Frowning, Kellogg would pull out his pocsec and fire off a quick message to his AAC contact. »Hoi. Some drekheads are trying to hit some customers at my shop. You chummers think you could buzz em ta get em to buzz off without us havin a shoot out? The customers dunno why they're bein tracked, but I'd vouch for em.«

Kellogg stashes his pocsec. "They ain't hittin us yet. So ya ain't worryin nothin 'bout it. Yer a customer. I ain't gonna let no drekheads hit my customers. Simple as that." Kellogg taps his pocsec then tries to get the computer to switch over again. "I contacted some chummers ta try ta get em to come help without no shootin. The boys are ready for em if they try to come in. Ifn yer girl keeps that smoke up, should stall em long enough fer backup ta show up."

Kellogg is guarding the front office door. Ingrid is in the hall back to the break room along with Frank. So if they are going in a bay door, they trying to go in the one that's open?"

Kellogg watches the door come down and the one guy starts bleeding out. Cursing softly he shakes his head and holsters his gun. "Keep an eye on the doors. Travis you ok chummer? Someone get me a bandage ta slap on this guy so he dun bleed out in our garage." Kellogg eyes George. "Can it chummer or ya can go outside!"

Ingrid has relocated (invisible) to follow and be near Kellogg, she whispers near him, "I'm here Kellogg.. if you need the magic to heal.. let me know."

Pete rushes to the breakroom to get the first aid kit.

While in the back getting the kit Pete calls out, "They're at the back door trying to get in!"

Kellogg grumbles and nods. "Get the kit ta Travis. Ingrid, help heal up Travis. Frank! Yer helpin me ta show em why not ta screw around with my shop!" Kellogg would storm down the hall for the back area as well, using the wall at the end of the hall to scope out what the status is in the room with the door before going further.

Ingrid moves to Travis but waits for Pete to come back with the kit and work on medical treatment. Seeing Pete not so handy with medical skills she offers, "Excuse me.. please put the kit down.. I can do this.. I have medical response training.. sorry Pete."

Pete puts it down and gets back out of the way as Ingrid starts to work on Travis (Biotech skill: 3).

Kellogg saw the nade and immediately dived for it. Tucking a shoulder into a roll, he scooped it up and even from that inverted angle, was able to spin that nade right back at the door, bouncing it outside to the two men who had tried to come in that back. Kellogg came up to his feet as the nade went off FLASHBANG!! hammering both thugs with that concussion of the nade, as well as the flare of light. Kellogg shook his head and motioned for Frank to stay back. He'd be going after them in just a second, but Frank was a customer, so he'd be better to stay inside, then go out into the fight.

Kellogg shakes his head, snap blade vanishing back in Kellogg's sleeve, he'd walk back inside. Closing the door behind him and locking it, he frowns at the door then shrugs and with a nod to Frank, heads back up front.

The deadbolt still works and secures the door. The handle though and its mechanisim is missing (blasted to shreds). The door is locked firmly with the deadbolt.

Gun put away, Kellogg's eyes finally clear of the sparklies. He'd grunt and then look at Frank. "Oi! Ya good chummer? Let's go check on the front. make sure those drekheads actually leave." Once Frank said he is ok, Kellogg would stomp towards the front to check on his buddy and make sure there's no issue going on up front now.

Ingrid is still working on the first aid of Travis. It looks like she's got the skills and is doing pretty good.

Frank moves with Kellogg to the front, his gun still in his hand and eyes towards Ingrid and then the front door but no targets seem to be available.

Outside (and seen by the monitors if observed) the Thugs are collecting their dead and wounded into the back of the van. The smoke cloud has disappated.

Kellogg checks the monitor, nods slightly. "A'right chummers, clean up time. We got the cops comin from the noise we were makin fer sure. Get all the gear changed out. They tried ta rob us, we just defended ourselves.. ain't no one died. Let's make sure it's clean and simple fer the cops so they ignore us again, wiz?"

Frank looks to Kellogg, "You have anywhere I can hide my unregistered gear before they get here?"

Kellogg raises a brow at Frank, then nods. He'd wave for the man to follow along and head for the employee area. Kellogg's locker (shorter than the others, looks like it got jury-rigged into that size as a joke from his co-workers) was opened and then he'd reach in and after a click, have a hidden area pop open. Motioning for Frank to come closer, he'd step back. "In there. I doubt they'll check it, but ya should be chill with yer gear in there chummer."

Frank stows all his gear that he'd get in trouble for.
Cougar Fineblade (with sheath), Ares Viper Slivergun, Morrissey Alta (silencer and holster).

Kellogg nods and once Frank is done, he'd close the hidden compartment, then close his own locker. Heading back up front, he'd check how the guys are handling it as well as watch out for the cops to show up. "ifn one of ya ain't called 911 fer them tryin ta rob us, go ahead and do it now, wiz? Looks like everything is put away." It was a subtle change, but anything that might be illegal in terms of mods has been stashed in the shop, so it looks like a simple mechanic shop.

Upon return to the front.. Ingrid's face looks like a raven.. the other men are stepping back and not looking all that relaxed.

The wounds on Travis close up completely and even the red/bruising clears up completely.. the man is fully healed. It's a Jesus moment!
