First, Do Harm

GM: Posh
Players: Abel, Blackheart, Cain, Posh
Synopsis: Posh gets a call from her friend Vic Martin that the magical healer and shaman for the clinic that had been spreading lies about Vic's parts is still out and about. She gets hired to organize a team to kill him. She does, and the team gathers information on the so-called 'Bison,' track him down to his hideout in the Warrens, and assault him with his gang crew, killing him before he can manifest his spirit! They manage to get away clean.

«Plot» Posh says, "For what it's worth, Posh is limited to 5 karma pool for this plot. Both for balance purposes, and because she's been using karma in queues, so hey! And you've got risk, all that. So we begin!"

Posh looks a little pensive as she clasps her hands to the small of her back in her 'lair,' the trids set to make it look like the veranda of her McAffrey Towers place is a moon base. The desolate moon doesn't quite hide the occasional spidery alien skittering in the shadows in the far off distance. She's dressed in her usual outfit she likes to wear when she's packing heat - a stylish thigh-length trench over Zoe sylks and stompers.

Abel was sitting at the table, reclining comfortably in the chair as he sat beside his brother. He had on his greatcoat and gray flatcap as usual. A lot of his attention was out the 'windows' out onto the moonscape and the blue marble that hung in the Lunar sky. "Can this time we not have someone be eaten form the inside out? Because that was kind of fucked up."

"Yeah, I'm going to volunteer us not to take a hit of that shit this time." He says dryly, shaking his head. Cain is dressed just like his twin, sans the hat, and with a set of fancy sunglasses on. He has over his shoulder the usual dufflebag with all their working gear in it. He looks curiously towards Posh. "So whats the job this time?"

Blackheart's trying her hand at juggling with three little balls in the corner. She's not very good at it, but seems to be making progress. "What's with the moon scape, Posh? You have to be wearing a glittering foil suit to have a pad like this!"

"I left it in the wash," deadpans Posh to Blackheart, with a little smile. "Well," she says. "I got another message from Vic. Apparently, the mage that worked at that shadow clinic that we took out wasn't there when we hit it. They apparently had a team," she says. "Anyway, Vic's asked us to take this guy out. He's willing to pay, and I told him that I'd cut him a little break on this one, too, you know…old favor for a friend," she says. "So. Who of you is willing to help take out the mage that was helping that shadow clinic smear Vic and murder a couple of people into the bargain?" she asks. "Because that's what Vic'd hoping to have done," she says. "Who wants some brews in, by the way? This is a much more pleasant meet environment than usual." She grins. "We have a little bit of preliminary intelligence right now, but we don't know exactly where he is. So that means we'll probably have to do some legwork associated with tracking this gentleman down."

Abel gives the juggling mage a bit of an odd look but goes back to looking up at the screens that were masquerading to be windows as he listens to Posh's words with an eventual nod. "No drinks thanks. But how much of a break are you cutting this guy, out of curiosity?"

Cain nods his head slowly "Yeah, I don't exactly mind taking out some prick that was in on that scheme." He agrees simply, before grinning to his brother. "Though I am wondering what the tune of the payment is, yeah."

Blackheart concentrates on the juggling as she listens. "I'll have one," she says, the thought of a beer on the moon distracts her just enough that one of the balls goes flying and bounces off of a lamp, and Blackheart catches the other two. "Ten Kay? This sounds like it shouldn't be that tough," she says, stowing the balls as she comes over to the table. "Who is this guy? He doesn't sound familiar."

Abel just gives a small nod of his head as he looked back out into space. He didn't seem to be actually looking at it, just giving his eyes a place to focus while he thought. "Sounds solid. So, what do we know about this guy, and how can we figure out more?" The sound of a ball bouncing off the lamp doesn't seem to pull his attention much.

Posh grins. "No, no," she says. "The kill's worth a hundred grand, I told Vic we'd do it for ninety. You all will be paid as if it's still a hundred, it's just that the rest will come out of mine," she explains. "Sorry for the confusion. That's how the payouts you've been getting linked to your handow handles I fixed for you all have been coming in," she explains. "That's why you get the money directly, instead of me paying you. You guys are my friends, not my employees, after all."

Cain nods his head quietly, "Works for me." He says with a nod, gesturing at Abel and tipping his head.

She continues. "The target's name is a shaman who goes by the name of Bison," she says, the display set in the center of the table showing on its triple-trid an image of a broken-nosed, brutish man in his forties, with a cruel cast to his beady eyes. "He's supposedly a madman, a murderer who mastered magical healing simply so that his victims could live longer. Or at least, that's what his reputation was before retirement," she says. "Still, it seems like the clinic was happy to have such a fellow on its payroll. Presumably, they balanced the…good against the suggested extra security. Perhaps it's lucky for us the Bison was away - but Vic tells me that's why he thought it was a good opportunity to hit the clinic, last time," she explains.

Abel shifts in his seat to put his elbows on the table as he gets a good look at the target. "So that's his rep. What about things like notable acquaintances, hangouts, aliases, vehicles, talismongers he frequents… Anything useful, or is that gonna be a part of the legwork?"

"HMm.. Bison," Blackheart furrows her brow. "Bet he punches like a mule with a name like that," she guesses. "Do we have any leads on where he is?"

Cain sighs softly, and nods his head. "Mm. I think its gotten to be sort of a thing that we have to do all the work, yeh?" Cain says with a soft laugh. "Ah well. Something to do, and at least its like… somewhat up our alley."

"From what I can tell," says Posh, "I've seen a lot of these fall apart. We have two simple tasks," she says. "We have to find Bison first, and then we have to kill him. Here's what we know about his rep: that he's got a reputation for healing magic, that he's a shaman of some sort, and that he's also particularly cruel," she says. "Do any of you know anyone who might be able to tell us more about such a fellow? I could contact my fixer, but he'd probably charge a lot for information, he's a generalist. So I'd put him as a sort of worst case."

Cain muses quietly, "Y'know, I heard after we knocked over his clinic, he told someone that he was going to 'Go back to the old boys'. Of course, I've got no clue who -those- are…"

«Plot» Abel says, "Ask him if he knows any information about Bison, or if he dig up anything useful, possibly related to who he used to hang out with, or some group called the 'Old Boys'"

Mister B's cell network connection is crap, as he's a mage who lives in the Warrens. To make it by, he's got to provide a number of magical services to local gangs after all. "You askin' around Bison?" he asks. "Fuck yeah," he says, in his scratchy, scarecrow voice. "Fine, I wouldn't ordinarily say this, but I've been having a little trouble with guys cuttin' into my business. Think the Warrens is a big fuckin' safehouse. I can tell you that I used to provide elementals for a couple gang bosses, you know, a heavy to send a fight team around," she says. "But no, now two of my customers say they're getting into spirits instead! Pah!"

"I'll go hit up my contact at the college, she might know something about an 'old boys' network tied into healing magic," Blackheart says. While visiting Vostra, she brings some expensive absythe again, along with some really good zen. "Madame Vostra," she greets, handing off the bottle, "Good to see you." She nods her head, "Yes, yes, we fucked him up good, thanks for the tip on that. I've got something else I'm working on. Any information on an Old Boys network of magical healers? Probably a shaman circle or something."

Vostra's happy to turn up at Blackheart after her inquiry, frowning thoughtfully. "Well," says the gypsy woman, her voice the most beautiful of many things about her, grateful with a smile for the absinthe. "I was glad to hear that you did, honey," she says, her eyes widening. "Wow," she says. "This must have been particularly expensive," she says, tsk tsk tsking at Blackheart, but smiling.

"I have information on the one you seek. The Bison was known to run with the Razor Tips. They were more of a…crew of killers than a gang. They provided magical services…spirits and the like…in the Warrens a few years back. Apparently the Bison had been involved in other work, recently," she says, trailing off as she fondles a crystal ball listlessly. It's hard to get much more out of her when she's like this.

A few hours later, Posh is serving out a pizza back at the hideout, which has now been converted to a fantasy castle. And not the good fantasy castle kind - outside the trid 'windows' there's an assortment of spiked ramparts and guards tramping by, dressed in extra spiky armor. A few objects that may be heads are skewered by pole tips in the distance. Charming. "So," she asks. "What have you all found out? What do you think you might be able to put together?"

Abel has a quiet private call off to the side with Mister B, and when everyone is all back together munching on Pizza he gives what he knows. "It looks like our target might be in the Warrens. He might be setting up spirits as protection for some local gangs."

Blackheart returns a few hours later from visiting with Madame Vostra. her eyelids are heavy and she's walking a bit unsteady, but she has a smiles on her lips. "Guy's in a warrens gang, the Act razors or something.. No wait. Frosted Tips?" She shakes her head, "No, the Razor Tips. Yes, the Razor Tips. A bunch of hired guns, I think we'd get along, come to think of it."

Cain glances over to Abel, and nods his head slowly, "Seems like that might be the 'old crew' he hooked up with." The twin muses. He glances to Blackheart, then looks to Posh. "You ever heard of a gang called… The razor tips?"

Posh frowns. "The Frosted Tips?" she says. "Wasn't that a hairstyle back when…" She shakes her head. "No. The Razor Tips." She frowns. "They're not really a gang, but they do sort of hold turf in the old Peach Orchard apartment building in the 'Rens.' It's sort of a more quiet area where the buildings aren't quite as run down, so that means the opposition there's tougher." She makes a face. "If we're going to be headed there against spirit opposition…that'll be tough. You guys sure you don't want to bring one more killer aboard?" she asks. "All I know is that the Tips are more of a merc outfit than a gang, almost, with the way that they set up security - kinda harden other gangs. I guess this Bison is one of their guys," she says. "If he's hiding out with them, he's probably at their HQ. The gang has a good dozen members, but of course all of them won't be there at once," she says, pretty thoughtfully. "I wish I could tell you more about their capabilities, but I can't. So." She looks around. "Where does that leave us? How much do we know, and how can we use it?"

"One thing we know," Abel says pointedly, "Is that this isn't a cleaning mission. We are not going in to wipe out a gang. Our goal is to assassinate a single target. One dude. A dude that very likely goes out for food, or to get hookers, or whatever. So we know that a frontal attack on the Peach Orchard is unwise. So logically we hit him when he isn't in the building. Could be a simple drive-by shooting, a hit and run, sniping him from a distance… Whatever we decide on, I call that we do not attack the building itself. We need to make the kill, and get out. No need for any kind of prolonged fight."

Cain shakes his head, "Less killers is probably better." Cain agrees with what Abel says. "Yeah, we aren't here to take out a gang. We are here to get him. There has to be a way to get him away from them, like Abel says. Hell, even if we just set up watch to pay attention for it. Or take him from outside the building. Whatever we do, we aren't going toe to toe against a whole gang. That'll bring the kind of heat we don't want on us."

Posh nods. "How are we going to get at this guy though? Imagine that you're a guy who works for a clinic, and your clinic, hell, your attempt to go legit has just been blown to smithereens. Now you're laying low. Are you going to pop out for a packet of crisps?"

Blackheart shakes her head, "No, he's gone to ground, he'll be sending his lackies for food and bringing hookers in. We need a convincing way to bring him out. Posh, do you know if this gang is beefing with anyone? Maybe we could make it worth someone's while to start someting on the street. That way, either he has to help out, or the safehouse empties out."

Abel snorts a bit. "Yeah, going legit. That is exactly what he was doing. He is not going to spend the rest of his life in there. It looks like this is the point where we need some active recon on the building. We shouldn't move forwards with assumptions and guesses. If he's in the Warrens, he might feel a lot safer. Or he could be hiding in a reinforced bunker beneath the building. We don't know. So we should check.

Cain actually laughs softly, and grins at Posh. "Funny." He says with faint amusement, "I know some people, that tried to go legit. And got blown to smithereens." He says with a grin, and glances to Abel, "I don't know if they go out for -crisps-, but they definitely aren't shut ins." He says with that same amused expression. He looks to Posh, "We have to consider, the dude is also supposedly crazy right? I'm not sure how worried he is for his own safety. Maybe thats something to look into."

"Anyways, Abel is right, we should get actual eyes on the place and watch it for a little while to see what's up." Blackheart agrees with a nod of her head. All this talk of crisps, she heads over to the pantry and fishes about for a pack, only spilling a couple while getting it open.

Posh gives a grin. "I suppose we should. But is there anything we're missing here?" she asks. "I mean, you're right. He can't go to ground forever," she says. "He's a shaman, and the Razor Tips have recently been providing spirits for magical security," she says, thoughtfully. "Is there anything in there?"

Posh nods. "All right. He's not in there all the time, then. He's going out for work, most likely," she says. "But that's probably when he's at his most alert, right? I think Abel's right, too it'll be valuable to get on site eyes of the Peach Orchard. We should just make sure we've got everything we can out of the information we've already got." She grins. "You mind giving us a summary to keep us on track, Blackheart?"

After munching on some crisps, Blackheart leaves half the bag on the counter and picks up a beer from nearby to wash it down. "So, this guy is back with his gang, the Razor Tips, a gang that provided magical services for the warrens." She thinks, "I don't think we can assume that he's the only one with mojo. He could actually be laying low. Let's go take a look and try to keep sneaky."

Abel pipes in, "The big thing is, you can't just summon a spirit or elemenal and tell it to guard a place and walk off. I mean, you could with a Watcher, but nothing more impressive than something like that, and those little bastards can get expensive over the long term. If he is renting out spirits, he is going to be there for as long as the spirit is in use. If you send a spirit outside a range of control, the spirit just fucks off. So if he is selling, he's a part of that deal, really. Which means his services are mostly being used when shit is already going to be going down. But yeah, let's go take a peek at this place."

Cain nods his head slowly to Abel, "Yeah.." He murmurs, "Or, is he teaching other wagglers they've got present how to do it." He points out, "Either way, some hands on observation is probably going to be best. Posh, I think you are best suited for going unseen on this side of things. Any of us would be able to watch astrally, but thats risky. Especially if they've got spirits around their own place."

"Binoculars, and distance will be our shield for this stakeout," Blackheart says. "Once we get within a block, we'll be made, especially if it's his gang's turff, they'll have cornerboys doing callouts all night long."

Posh nods. "Indeed," she says. "Let's stand off and stay far away. And shall we disguise up for this one?" she asks. "I'm of a mind to dress you two up as greaser boys," she says to the twins, brandishing a pair of leather jackets in one hand, and a can of Murray's in the other. Toxic stuff.

In any case, regarding the form of disguise you all choose, Posh hurriedly gets to work and then gets her own gear, ready for a stakeout. "So what vehicles are we taking? How are we getting there?" asks the redheaded elf, now temporarily dirty blonde.

"Well, its the warrens. They'll just wave us in, anyhow." Cain says with a chuckle. "Like Blackheart said. Distance. We aren't going anywhere near them, anyhow. We'll need to figure out some good spots to set up an overwatch. Watch for them coming and going. Hell, this might be more then a night of watching. Anyone got someone they can hit up to see where the work is going?"

Abel shrugs. "If someone has a car we can use, we use that. I'm cool just taking a cab. Or a bus."

Posh gives a quick grin as she pulls her coat on, buttoning it up, frowning as it's a little tight across the bust. "All right, let's just take the tram. It's easy to get our weapons through the border going /into/ the Rens, we can just walk on through. And we can have Luck ring up Sara to get them back out later," she says, with a nod. "I've already sent her my how do you dos, so maybe we can start getting a touch more regular," she explains. "At least until we have a nice vehicle with a smuggling compartment." A soft chuckle. "So. We're headed to do some recon. I've got a pair of goggles that should serve. But let's not get too close."

A few passers-by glance at the group members as they set up to scrounge in the trash or do whatever it is you do in the Rens about a block away from the Peach Orchard apartments. It appears that there's a couple of toughs hanging around out there. The street is strewn with various bits of rubble, and it seems that nobody moves around too much, if they have anything of value, except in groups of a decent size. All the groups you see go in and out of the Peach Orchards are composed of no fewer than 5 people.

After getting this tidbit of information, everyone in the group can notice that the two guards posted out front of the Peach Orchard are staring pretty regularly in their direction, as if suspicious. No guns in their hands or anything, but the general direction of the runners certainly has their attention. It's probably only a matter of time before they order the team lunch.

"Yeaaaah, I've got a feeling we should uh… Move along." Cain mutters, "Lets find another place to watch from." He murmurs, "Check around for any local rooms to rent or some shit? Might find something with a view."

"Yeaaaah, I've got a feeling we should uh… Move along." Cain mutters, "Lets find another place to watch from." He murmurs, "Check around for any local rooms to rent or some shit? Might find something with a view."

Posh gives a quick nod as the group moves to go. "Well, we can just hop into the Cybered Arms nearby, or the parking lot of the Bastille," she says. "And we're not going to find a view, except /of/ some shit, here in the Warrens," she says to Cain as the group moves on, looking both a little more natural moving as a herd in the Warrens. After all, it's hard to surround a minigang of four who're doing their best to show a little swagger.

Abel just moves along quietly with the group as he keeps an eye out, dressed like a rather nondescript guy from the warrens. No greasy slicked hair or simleather jacket for him. Greasers died out a hundred years ago, and they were going to stay dead.

"Let's just light a hobofire and when one of them comes to give us the movealong, Cain zaps him with his mojo, that way we can find out where our man is." Blackheart suggests. "You know, when it warms up, I think I'll take the sleeves off my leather jacket.. Getone of those ancient buicks from the 1950s.."

Cain snorts softly, "Uh, I'm not the one with that kind of mojo." Cain says with amusement, "Any zorting I do is pretty damn obvious, and makes a hell of a mess." He says with a soft laugh. "Come on. Lets at least move around the corner out of their sight." He says, heading that way.

Posh moves with the others around the corner. "Well," she says. "If they see us again without us going back and changing disguises," she says. "They're likely going to scrutinize us. And since we didn't go and talk to them, it might be rather suspicious. But probably not too bad, we cleared out quickly. We could just as easily be prospective tenants hoping to move in, that's not -that- odd," she says.

Blackheart shuffles along with the others, testing her second hand boots on the slippery sidewalk. "Doesn't anyone shovel in these parts?" she asks. She's only been out of the warrens for a couple of weeks, and now look at her looking down on the denizens of the slums.

"No need to get uppity, Blackheart. It doesn't suit you," Posh says, with a grin. "Gods, you'd think you're the one they called Posh," she says, happily squelching her stompers in the slush with the verve of someone who grew up in British weather.

"That's your tax dollars at work," Abel chirps in as they move along. "But the shit world of life in the warrens of the side… What now? Where can we get an eye on the place safely?"

Posh looks around at the others. "So. It looks like we either find some way to try to penetrate the Peach Orchard - a stealth assassination mission - or we go heavier combat, and try to hit the guy, perhaps, when he comes out?" she asks. "It seems like that's the first choice we must make, based on this information." She turns to Abel. "Or am I jumping the gun? Do you want more information?"

"Let's tail one of the groups coming out, jump a straggler and question them," Blackheard suggests. "We need to know what room he's in before we head into anywhere."

"Not sure." Cain admits to Abel. "Might be time to find a quiet place to switch up disguises a bit… Or slum around, and see who might find out any information." Cain looks to Posh, and shakes his head. "We can't roll up on them. I mean, if the guy exposes himself? Yeah, fuck him then. But we can't roll in." He says with a faint smile, "Maybe we try to figure out where they are working. Ask around." Cain shrugs. "I can magic one of those guards from down the block, and odds are they won't notice. Dig in his head and figure it out. But if they do notice? Shit goes tits up."

Abel shrugs. "I mean, an assassination of opportunity is a possibility. Wait for him to come out, geek him and book it. We'd need some way to move out of there quickly, though. A stealthy assassination could work; send whomever of us is the sneakiest into the building and gank him on the shitter. That would likely be you, Posh. If we draw him out, that would be with something big. Like setting the building on fire or something, which is something I'd not be cool with.""

"I'm not sure I can go in there alone and gank him on the toilet," Posh says. "If I turn on my tattoo, won't that make me all shiny to any spirits? And isn't he known for having…spirit security?"

Blackheart steps into a nearby grocery for a minute or two and comes out with a 40 oz bottle of malt liquor. "Time to make this a real stakeout," she decides, finding a nearby stoop to sit on just in sight of the front door of the Peach Orchard and start relaxing like a local, watching the traffic, and more importantly, watching who comes in and out of the building they're interested in."

The Razor Tips makes up a small portion of the traffic in and out of the apartment building, which must hold over a hundred people. Clearly the gang must just have a couple of rooms or a floor or something if it's only a dozen or so. It's not even the only gang around - sometimes they look a little warily and tensely at each other. Blackheart even spots the Bison, coming out and surrounded by four gangers wearing jackets that have straight razors on the back, two orks, two humans, also bearing shades, obvious cyberarms on two of them. They look reasonably tough, and head out on foot on a reasonable spread down the road.

While hanging out on the corner stoop, Blackheart winces as she samples her forty ounze FineFine brand malt liquor. "Jezus, this is awful," she smacks her lips and tries not to drink too much of it at once. Looking up, she seems to spot Bison and crew heading out into the streets. "Looks like you're right, gang, I see him hitting the pavement with four goons."

"Yeah, you don't want to turn on your tattoo." Cain says, before blinking. "Shit. He is on the street." Cain mutters, looking at Abel and then Posh. "… Just take him and hit the ground running? How do you want to play this?"

«Plot» Posh says, "Etiquette roll, just from Blackheart, TN 3, to hang out and drink a forty in sight of the guards. They see a lot of people who drink lots of forties."

«Auto-Judge[]» Blackheart (#12120) rolls Etiquette vs TN 3:
3 = 1 Success

The two guards see Blackheart, but they quickly grow bored as they just see another derilict at a distance. Meanwhile, the group of five, including Bison continue to tramp off down the street further away.

Posh gives a shrug. "I'm not sure," she says. "I mean, we could go hot right now - I've got my pistols on me, after all, and I assume we've got SMGs and shotties. How much heavier were we going to get?" She grins. "But I was wondering if there might be a way to get rid of the door guards, for when they return," suggests the elf. "I mean, we've established the target lives there, right?" she asks. "What if we were somehow the door guards' relief?" she asks.

«Plot» Posh says, "Intelligence, Blackheart. TN 8."

«Auto-Judge[]» Blackheart (#12120) rolls Intelligence vs TN 8:
1 2 3 4 4 9 = 1 Success

«Plot» Posh says, "Blackheart can see that there is an armored camera, that looks like it may even be functional, that is watching the immediate vicinity of the door."

«Plot» Posh says, "And by immediate, I mean immediate, like 3 square meters in front of the door."

"The guards have cameras on them. I think this is our chance to catch them a couple blocks down, gang. They're heading east, I'll let you know if they turn north or south." Blackheart reports to her comrades around the corner.

Posh nods as Blackheart immediately takes command - if an opportunity is being seized, the elf isn't getting in the way. "Very well, Blackheart," she says. "Do you want us to try to head around out of sight, or try to walk past the guards and follow them?" she asks. "If they see us following the guys, they'll probably remember us, for what it's worth."

Abel looks between Cain and Posh and points. "Head South to the next intersection and start running up the road. I'll head North and do the same. Blackheart keeps an eye on the target and we hit them from two sides up the street. Quick, simple and decisive. We put him down, and move to escape."

Cain nods to his twin, and looks to Posh. "You want me with you, or going alone?" He shifts to reach to his dufflebag, and draws out his SMG to immediantly stuff it under his long jacket as he clicks the weapon into his smartlink. "Either way, we better move to get ahead of them."

"Sounds like a plan," Blackheart replies into her microbead radio. She nurses her forty and casually keeps an eye on the swagger crew, once they go around a corner, she'll have to make haste to catch up!

Posh gives an affirmative dip of her head to Cain. "Want me to call out tactical updated over the comms as soon as we make contact?" she asks. "I'll be South. You'll be North. Blackheart's following. And Abel?" she asks. "With you two, twin murderbros?" she asks, with a wink, over the subvocal mic.

Cain takes off towards the north, and it isn't long til he is putting on his helmet. Because the time for subtlety is gooooone. Outside the line of sight of those guards, hopefully in the short time it takes the sprinting twins to get into position, no one things anything unusual of the man with the opaque helmet on. Still, awesome disguise.

Commlink-Cain> Cain sends, « Yeah, call out what you can. »

Sprinting twins are sprinting twins with helmets. There are weirder things in the Warrens, but any of the denizens who the twins sprint by are gonna see that. Whether that even matters is another matter entirely.

Abel nods his head. "Good point. Even out the strengths of each side." Because the twins are in no qay equal in power to a single Posh! And with That, Abel punches his brother in the arm before running off to the North as he slips on his helmet and plugs it into his bodysuit on the run. «How many blocks up is he now, Blackheart?»

«Auto-Judge[]» Posh (#11342) rolls Stealth:

Posh for her part moves as unobtrusively as she can to the south, staying a out of sight. As a face, she can't really afford to be seen quite as openly as the helmeted twins, or at least didn't prepare. In any case, she's going to hit the group, it seems, a little bit after the twins might.

«Plot» Posh says, "They're kind of headed east. Posh is headed south, and then will come up north to meet them at the next intersection. The twins are doing the reverse, and are moving faster, so will be able to set an ambush. Posh will not be able to."

«Plot» Posh says, "Blackheart. They are about 40 meters away from you, heading east. It seems on a map you could quickly pull up on pocsec there's another intersection about 60 meters east of that."

«Plot» Posh says, "They will pass sort of around of corner out of your line of sight unless you follow them."

The twins are sprinting around Peach and to the north, and are going to hit from the north. Posh and Blackheart are sneaking, going more slowly, and will not be able to set an ambush. All clear? I need a stealth roll from Blackheart and poses from everyone in response to this situation, please. :)"

Blackheart gets up off of her stoop and begins shuffling towards the East, one block south of the street Bison and crew are walking. "Losing contact with them, they're still heading east on the same road. If you're quick you can pincer them from the north, we'll try to jump in from the South."

Posh moves almost insanely out of cover as she moves to approach the entire heavily armed gang that had just been deluged, trying to draw the attention away from anyone else. "Yo, Bison!" she screams, out, perhaps insanely standing up from the cover but wanting to try to prevent them from focusing on either of the mages that she's supported. "You're about to fucking die for the lies you've spread about Vic!" Apparently, that was part of the favor that Posh hadn't said - Vic had to be shouted to the Warrens that he was fighting back. She follows up her words with a pair of shots from her pistols, one each at two of the gangers.

Abel takes a deep calming breath as he trains his short stubby little shotgun on Bison. He struggles a bit to keep his shot calmly lined up as a wave of water washes over the battlefield. He exhales slowly as bullets start flying and with a single strong squeeze of the trigger a slug slams into the side of the man's mouth, tearing a decent sized hole out of the back of the man's neck, the hydroostatic shock of the bullet doing just a bit less damage to the soft tissues through the neck than the small chunk of vertebrae that comes out mixed in with the sputter of red that erupts from the falling mage.
Abel cocks the shotgun. «Target down. Finish him.»

Cain directs his SMG at Bison. Braaaaap. The weapon dispenses 3 bullets of mercy into the bleeding man as he puts him down, and Cain whirls to plant the SMG on the one of his guards, the one that'd already taken a wound. Braaap goes the dispensing Ingram Smartgun of street justice, and it leaves the man to whirl to the ground. Cain remains in cover with Abel, and fills the comms with chatter. «Target finished! Repeat, Bison is down for the count, we are clear to bugout!» When return fire comes his way, Cain presses flush against the wall as it catches on the sturdy concrete protecting him.

The last of the lightly wounded gangers, this one bearing a shotgun, aims at the madwoman with the pair of SMGS who's just helped to annhilate the Bison, as she seems like the most potent of the immediate threats. Because who can unload twin bursts of that magnitude? Holy -wow-

Commlink-Posh> Posh sends, « Can we just leave his spirit to rampage? Should we just get the hell out of here, or shall we do something about it? I imagine it won't be pleased with its master dying… »

Commlink-Cain> Cain sends, « Spirits not under his control, no fuckin' clue what'll do til we see it.» Cain calls out over the comms as bullets chip the wall beside him. «Anyone seeing what kind it is?» »

Commlink-Abel> Abel sends, « He's a shaman, it will disperse. »

Indeed, the spirit image already seems to be dispersing rather quickly, as the remaining surviving gangsters seem unsure of what to do, but certainly seem intent on taking what revenge they can, more and more shots ringing out as a few greedy scavs start to approach, scenting blood and already eager. Two of the gangers shoot at the scavs now, as survival starts to become an important issue. Being a wounded animal in the Warrens, reduced down to only three, is not the safest place to be.

The second of the Razor Tips goes down hard under the hail of gunfire, while the last two, apparently the two that were the least heavily wounded, feel like it's time to get the hell out of here. Only wounded from the water, and neither of them ones that had got a good look at the team, they focus on attacking the scavs now after making their potshots at Posh.

Blackheart pulls back just in the knick of time as one of the gangers blasts a corner of masonry apart beside her head. "Fuck, get to da choppa!" she calls out to Posh, who's in the middle of the street, talking smack and shooting bitches. She leans back out and sprays and prays into the remaining gangers.

When the order to break off comes over the comms, Cain slaps Abel on the back. "Go!" He barks, as invisibility swarms over his brother, hopefully giving Abel appropriate cover to escape the firefight without getting laced with rounds, either from the scavs or the remaining body guards standing. Cain remains in cover for the moment, prepared to cover if needed. He doesn't open fire however, preferring to go unnoticed then draw fire to himself.
Posh nods to Blackheart as she gets back into cover. "I guess now is the time to try out my new toy, so we can get the hell out of here," she says.

«Auto-Judge[]» Posh (#11342) rolls Willpower vs TN 2 for "Soaking M drain":
1 2 3 9 9 10 = 5 Successes

«Plot» Posh says, "Full soak. 27 success F1 improved invisibility activated."

When Cain's hand pats his back and that surge of magic flits over his body, Abel doesn't waste any time. He turns tail and begins sprinting full bore down the street away from the gun battle. «Six seconds before a switch, Cain! West!» He was aiming to get around the corner of the street before those six seconds were up.

Posh hops onto the bitch seat of da choppa as soon as she manages to scurry away from Blackheart, the sounds of the last two of the Razor Tips fighting off the scavs echoing into the night. Since SMGs and shotguns were the biggest thing fired, the corpses will be long picked over before there's even a thought of a Lone Star Stop.

It's a pretty easy trip back to Rollo's and arrange for future delivery of the group's weapons back to Posh, who can work on rebarreling them as needed. And with Bison well and truly confirmed dead, Vic can finally close the book on the operation of those who were trying to smear his name.
