DM: Indrakashi
Players: Miyo. Indra. Shift. Vera. Chandra.
MPRI is known to Shift, and of course, so is Indra, Miyo is the new kid on the scene, but it's not hard to find the advertisements. MPRI is an A list PMC group, and often has short term contracts offered for the Cali Free Fire Zone. This one has some direct connection to the Shadows, since Indra is circulating it, since it's target has some monetary value offered beyond the norm. Though the MPRI Office in the FTZ is -still- the meet point, the actual meeting room lacks the normal bustle of activity, and instead, has Indra and a single MPRI Officer. Rather quiet for a change, with out a half dozen MPRI personnel trying to feed information to various offices. Surely Vera and Chandra know how to read Trix postings too, right?
Miyo figures its pure chance that she made it to this meeting and such, but is there anyway, ready to go and willing to do what she needs to do to do it! Hooray for the noobie!
Shift does his usual, that being, drone recon, new disguise of the day, all that jazz. After he is comfortable he will make his way to the meeting, nodding to those he recognizes, even if they don't recognize him. Maybe he needs a mole, yea, always have a mole on his left eyebrow.
It's not Vera's first merc job, but perhaps her narcolepsy will stay under control for this one. Still, after negotiating for a few other gigs she's found things quite interesting, and so she arrives with Chandra, putting a little strawberry in the redhead and shifting her makeup enough so that she hopefully wouldn't be confused with the…well, other hippy redhead. She grins at Shift. "Wonder if we'll find an MPUVs on site this time," she says, with a wink.
Chandra is tagging along with Vera today, something she's by now used to doing. She's not exactly completely green, but she's close; she has more of a rep as a thief than a "real" runner.
She idly wonders who will be pulling whose ass out of the fire this time. It almost wasn't worth it, last time, given the pain she had to go through to wash all the blood off her clothes.
Vera nods. "I put out a notice for the boys to come on this one," she says. "After all, a little merc work, while dangerous, is a good way to run some real risk without a mistake doing worse than injure them. I mean, of course, they might die, but they're not likely to get a crimsin." Which is apparently worse than dying, it seems.
Indra clears her throat, she fits in here at least, in her black military styled fatigues and all. "There will not be MPUVs." She says and gestures to the MPRI Officer. He will do the actual presentation of information pertinent to the -core- aspect of the job. It involves loading a map of California, and showing a location south of Fresno. Along a beaten road, lost to decay of time. A fenced in location with several low buildings, a landing pad.
"Until Recently, this former UCAS Depot was considered to be abandoned and of no value to any of the interested parties. This changed several days ago. Some one broadcasted a signal to it, and automated defenses, previously unknown, came online." He begins and looks towards Indra.
"A UCAS depot that was never fully evacuated. Through a friend, I determined it was used to service LAVs, possible gunships. It's a few decades old." She explains.
Shift remains quiet, listening to the Jay speak.
Chandra stands against a wall, watching with a detached smile, eyes flicking between Colonel Johnson, Indra, and the map. Then she catches something on the air and her faces changes, a glimmer of recognition, followed by disbelief. Wait. What the … Is that /her/. Little Miss Military Drunken Burlesque Singer? Her mind rolls this situation over.
/Eh. Whatever. Like anybody in the damn Shadowscene makes sense. I can live with this./
It does look like she has genuine questions about the op already, but she calms her expression and waits, assuming Q&A will be later.
Miyo looks over the in the direction of Vera and Chandra and perks a brow when she sees them together before she sort of shuffles her way over. "Hey." She nods to Vera. "Maybe this one will go better, yeah?"
Vera just looks over to Chandra, and shakes her head. "I was in the back of a car a few days ago. We had a mark, a scientist, dead to rights in the back. I guess she didn't think Luck and I could take out a scientist in one shot, because what happened? She released -gas- into the fucking car," she says, shaking her head. She zips up as the othes show up, standing next to Chandra.
"Sounds like a fun time," Chandra says with a grin. "You'll have to tell me that story in detail later. We can figure out some potential countermeasures for next time. Got some items on my shopping list that might help." As she speaks, her eyes scan the other players here.
Indra doesn't truly care -what- people think, because the MPRI official is speaking again. "We have determined the Depot is likely of minimal value for our operations, to isolated in Free Cali territory to be effectively used if the automated defenses are neutralized. So the contract is a secure and destroy operation." He says and gestures to Indra, who is smirking.
"Some thing -easy- enough to do. But, thanks to my friend, I know that it was left with supplies. A unique chance to acquire aging UCAS stores of munitions intended for fire support LAVs. We secure the compound, draw out supplies. Then torch it."
She says and gestures to the MPRI official. He doesn't seem to put off by this. "We have agreed to this, as the stores inside which you can not use, we can for repairing our own vehicles."
Then the screen shifts, revealing a -new- look of the depot, several pop up turrets have activated, with AA launchers on them, along with clear signs of small tracked vehicles in the area. "We pulled these images shortly before our UAV was shot down. To this end, we are unable to send you in via Helo or Tbird. We are instead, arranging the use of several vehicles in San Jose. Ares and MPRI have a wonderful standing relationship. We're providing you with two land rovers, and a Flat bed for the possibility of securing LAV parts and munitions." He explains.
"So gear up, and be loaded for bear. We leave in twelve hours. I've negotiated up to twenty thousand a head." Indra comments.
Miyo doesn't seem to have any immediate questions. Seems fairly straight forward so far, but she is also a noob, so that may be a contributing factor to her lack of questions. She just double checks what little bits of gear she has on here and preps to depart.
Shift frowns slightly at the end of the pitch. "Your arranging for transport there, and back here with our cut of the salvage, yes?"
Vera nods. "Any information on the expected opposition at the site?" she asks. She glances over at Chandra with a smile. "I think I'm a little better geared up this time," she says. "I've got a spare Sav for you," she says. "And a clip of EXEX and another of APDS," she says. "I'll be coming a little better armed myself than usual. And I've brought my set of security grade armor."
Indra is the one of the two in MPRI Employ who has information on defenses and all. Though the MPRI official answers Shift. "We will provide the transportation as always." He explains and then Indra will speak to Vera. "Up to six mobile drones, perimeter defense. Then an estimated Two auto emplacements on the inside. Age may have damaged some of the drones in their storage closet." She says.
Chandra leans off the wall and faces Indra and Colonel Johnson.
"I've got a few questions. Any idea, or at least suspicions, about who broadcast the signal which brought it online? Was it intentional? Accidental? Just wondering because that'll give us a better idea on whether to expect interlopers of the non-automated variety." And then a pause, as she thinks about something.
"I know security, but automated defenses have changed a lot in this many years, and I'm kinda out of my element dealing with military sec instead of private sec. This probably seems irrelevant, but how are the defenses still active? What's powering them? Is there any chance of a centralized soft point we can use to disable or degrade them?"
Vera nods. "Will there be any fixed defenses to worry about in addition to the drones?" she asks, turning to Chandra. "Don't most drones have their own power sources, military or no?" she asks.
"We're dealing with fixed emplacements, too," Chandra replies as an aside to Vera.
-This- is where the MPRI Official sighs at Chandra's question. "When the UCAS pulled out of Cali, not all of them left. We are assuming at this point, it was one of them, possibly reactivating the Depot to try and acquire resources, or check it's servers. At any rate, none of them have made a move. Further implying it was accidental, or they lacked proper codes to disable the defenses." He explains and glances at Vera briefly. "Likely, the entire location was designed to run off a hybrid nuclear reactor. Even thirty years ago, the life time for such power generation could be a century. Given this was a repair and supply depot? No doubt some of the drones were configured for maintence duties. Running off fixed protocols, they could keep the base in operation indefinitely. Power wise."
Miyo hmmms. "So, a bunch of drones? On a fixed protocol? Could we perhaps shut them off or even give them a different protocol?" She shrugs. "Seems like they'd have some way of performing maintenance on the drones without getting ripped to pieces or such. Maybe we could use that to our advantage if we can figure out what it is?"
Vera nods and gives a quick smile to Chandra. "Hmmm," She looks a little thoughtful. "I don't know about this one. Even taking this gig at all, I'd have to count that there wasn't anything as heavily armored as an MPUV. We might be able to take out the drones that aren't surprises, but I've got no idea we have any way to deal with one that are. I specialize in human targets, I'm afraid." She smiles at Chandra, and then nods at Shift. "Hope you've got a tank if you're hoping to penetrate a military base with an active security system," she says, blanching a little bit as the idea of a fully operation, reactor-online military base seems way above her paygrade. She smiles. "You getting the same impression, Chandra?" she asks.
Shift shakes his head, "Not tanks, at least nothing that portable. I should look into that. But, as far as defenses go, I think our assistant host here will be able to take care of most things."
Indra has to look at her pocsec when Miyo asks her question. "Perhaps if some one was around from the era when the Depot was established, or when the pull out occured. Unfortunately, neither is likely. My friend, whilst able to pull -some- information up, can not get me such information, if it exists. They are effectively, operating under the assumption, any one who breaches the fence, or opens fire, is a hostile." She says, truthfully, 2036? She isn't lying, not many people around who worked at the depot. "This is an overcome the defenses, and we move in to secure parts and supplies, load the big rig, and when that is accomplished, I'll blow the reactor when we're clear."
"Noted," Chandra says. She turns to Vera, speaking more quietly. "Yeah. I'm not sure we've got the firepower for this. If we're going to be taking the time to extract materiel to make this worth our while, we can't stealth the op. And I dunno if confronting hardened emplaced defenses and patrolling drones is gonna work out for us. I mean, it's doable and possible. We can probably surmount their armor, barring something truly hardened, but I dunno if risk and reward are lining up right here." She doesn't seem to mind having this discussion in front of Indra and Colonel Johnson. And then she pauses. "You're coming with, then?" To Indra. "Alright. Before we're in, cards on the table, please. What are your armor-defeating capabilities, personally?"
Vera gives a smile to Shift. "Then I'm not exactly sure what we're here for," she says. "We're the outsiders, not part of the military. At least on the last job there were some vehicles. We don't even get an MPUV airdropped with us?" She shakes her head. "It's one thing if we're heading like this, but I've been taking too many bullets recently. If I keep going on jobs above my head like this, I'll get my number punched." She shakes her head. "Sorry, I'm not set up for drones. If you're providing some Spikes? Fab. But I don't exactly have any under the kitchen cupboard."
Indra blinks her eyes slowly, well Shift certainly caught on. "I am coming, correct. We have transport secured, and I have the abilities to defeat the Drones. At worse, I will resort to my more extreme forms of disabling. We shouldn't be facing more then Barghests. So be ready for spot lights, emplacements will be less of a concern. They will have limited munition reserves with out personnel to rearm them. If there -is- personnel in there? I feel bad for them. 2036 was the pull out date." She points out.
Vera nods. "Then I don't see how there's much use for me, except as a bullet soak against unexpected possibilities. And I'm saying right now, the only unexpected possibilities…possible…at a place like this, are ones that I haven't got any gear to handle." She looks around at the others. "If I'm wrong about this, please tell me. It'll be some sort of experimental drone or something."
Miyo looks over at Vera. "At least you have a gun… or two…"
"We can probably pull this," Chandra says, a slightly sour expression. "But I do think it's beyond our paygrade, and I don't like any situation where we lack meaningful ability to manipulate the variables. We can get 20k jobs were our bullets don't bounce off the opposition if we don't load explosive rounds. I say we call it and walk for now. If we really want this kind of work in the future, we need to actively prepare for it and acquire heavy munitions."
Miyo shrugs. "Well, I figured it was worth a try. Gotta be a way to sneak around well enough that we dont get caught and shot." She looks to Vera. "I imagine we can handle this, but… I don't knowvery well, either."
Vera nods at Chandra. "Sorry," she says. "But I think you're right about this," she says. "I'm not sure quite who this PMC is that expects people off the street to have things wildly illegal, yet is legal itself somehow," she says, "but there's something about all this that doesn't add up."
Shift is still quiet, letting the others decide for themselves.
Indra clears her throat again and looks at the MPRI Official. He moves to a stack of papers on the conference table. "This is the paper work for the transportation. As per the usual, presentation will gain you access to our hanger at the Denver Airfield, and wave you through check points. " Indra is taking one, she's folding it up in her hand to tuck it into a breast pocket. "Any one need a ride?"
Vera nods. "I could get ahold of what we'd need to have a proper counter, but it would cost about twenty thousand and take probably two weeks," she says. "Will the mission be available in two weeks?" she asks.
Indra is quiet, the MPRI man? Not so much. "There is an immediate concern, it has operating Anti aircraft missiles. This is why it must be destroyed. Miss Run-With-Horse has only postponed immediate action due to the useful nature of spare parts and munitions for LAV units."
Vera nods. "All right. Well, if we don't have the time to get the gear to counter drones, then we can't take the mission," she says. "Unfortunate, but I left my Lasher in my other coat, I suppose."
Vera glaes at Chandra with a chuckle. "I wonder if she expected us to bite the drones."
Miyo chuckles and makes a chomping gesture at Vera.
"We might change our mind in the future. We just need a little time to prep for these kinds of operations in the future," Chandra says with a mild shrug. "Today has to be a no, unfortunately. But good luck on your operation. I'm thinking you'll succeed."
Miyo looks over at Vera and Chandra. "Well, you know, we could go out there and at least take a look at the place. It might not be as bad as it sounds. Might not even have to fight through anything if we're lucky."
Vera laughs. "Says the girl who's going to go into a military base armed with…what exactly?" she asks.
Shift shrugs, "I have AV ammo, and I could get you some weapons very very quickly if you like. Thats all up to you of course."
Vera turns back to shift, arching an eyebrow. "This was only about being undergunned," she says. "If you'd like to do a little quick business, well, what have you got?" she asks.
That perks Chandra's interest. "What kind of weapons? Anything useful at range?"
Shift chuckles, "First tell me what your comfortable using, then I'll make some calls and see what I can get in a few hours."
Chandra turns to Vera. "You any good with longarms?"
"A few hours?" she asks, with a whistle. "I thought I'm able to get ahead of a rifle, but…if we're talking Christmas lists here," she says. "I wouldn't even need the AV rounds for any drones we'd expect to face if I had a rifle in Walther class. But I could make do with a Remington just fine, with the AV," she says. "Of course, I'd probably be -most- capable with a carbine FAMAL or AUG-CSL," she says.
Shift chuckles, "I can get you some Remington 950s in hours. For a Steyr even I might need a few days, and the Walther, well thats definatly a week. The common stuff I can get in an hour or two, without bothering with permits. The fancy stuff, now that takes some time."
Vera nods. "Of course, the simplest solution would be to loan me a clip for the Equalizer. I'll probably not fire any of them," she says. "But to have that contingency in this case might make all the difference," she suggests. "All right," she says. "I'll offer either that, or take a quick sale price for a nine-round clip, or even two, for an Equalizer. Hell, I'll buy as much as you want to give me, but…" She grins. "I understand, certainly, if you may not wish it."
"It's silly to take chances going in," Chandra says casually. "I don't feel like watching you get shot up again. Best bet is to take advantage of the fact that we're fighting dog brains and pick them off at range, drawing the internal patrols out of the depot if necessary. I can scout and spot targets for you." Then to Shift. "I think we're overthinking this. With anti-vehicular rounds of even lighter rifle caliburs, we'll be fine. Range is what we want. We don't need something as heavy as a milspec rifle. A Remington will probably do it."
Shift nods, "Alright, I'll call for a pair of remingtons then. Can't hurt to have some on hand."
Vera grins. "It's a handy and flexible weapons." She smiles to Chandra. "We can take care of one for you." She nods, looking a little relieved. "Look, having a second gun who can take out a drone is going to be useful," she says. She nods. "An Equalizer's range is quite sufficient. If he has the ammo here we don't have to delay at all."
"Just one," Chandra says. "I'm no good with longarms."
When people do eventually show up, how ever they get there, they find the papers -really- do get them through check points with out issue. The hanger has a few planes in it, and a Helo, but it's a small Cessna they'll be boarding, the pilot and co-pilot helping load any gear. They're grizzled, and probably make this trip multiple times a week. Indra will do her sleeping things when they board, it's sort of her shtick. Sleep when you can! How ever others sack out, spend their time on the flight, it'll be long, and boring. Food? Sure, if you don't mind chewing on a ration bar and drinking bottled water. It's a non stop flight, but at least they are landing at an air strip that MPRI either rents, or has connections on, because there's already two up armored Brumbies, and a Flat Bed Truck waiting. Along with GPS units installed, and final destination.
Shift has his security armor, a few weapons, a pack full of assorted tools and ammo. He is ready to rock and roll, and also ready for the long drive.
Miyo is, needless to say, impressed that she gets through the checkpoints so easily. Not always the easiest thing to get someone like her across places like that, but hey… some people are just good! She shows up, at least, intent on starting some sort of reputation for herself with a tricky mission.
Vera's at least got a set of security armor this time, equipped a little bit better than Chandra last saw her. "What? I had this all along," she confesses, slipping her helmet on, as she checks the nine-round clips of the wickedly small bullpup SA76. She loads with normal ammunition to start with, apparently holding the precious AV in reserve. Because you never know.
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "Also please let me know who is driving with who. There's Two Up Armored Brumbies, and a Five Ton Truck."
«Plot» Miyo says, "Ill go with Shift, since I assume Chandra and Vera will stick together."
Chandra is silent during most of the trip, spending most of her time absorbing the experience of air travel. She wouldn't let on that this was her first time in the air, though to those who focus on her, it might be a little obvious. As they touch down, she remains all business. She's traveling light. Camo. Some armor on top. She doesn't seem bothered, though. For somebody who obsesses over details, she doesn't seem to mind not having heavy gear. Maybe she has some other ideas. She turns toward Vera. "You good? We'll play it safe. Don't sweat it."
Indra seems to assume that others will split into pairs, she her self, will just have to drive the Five Ton behind the Brumbies, going to get the diesel beast into life. Her own Kit is pretty extensive, but she might have brought more then is needed to assure Vera she won't die in a fire. I mean, why else bring the Lasher pack, or the LMG? Though, she mostly stows them on the seat beside her and begins pulling the air horn chain. Now that her player has -that- out of her system..
Shift is not worried about driving one of the armored vehicles. He nods to Miyo when she joins him, but says little unless he is talked to. He has weapons ready in the seat next to him, just in case.
Vera nods to Chandra. "This wasn't a matter of sweating it," she says, with a warm smile. "Once the gentleman helped to rebalance the calculation," she says, "then I was quite happy to do it. I just didn't like the idea of having nothing to fall back on if there were a nasty surprise," she replies, smiling as she looks around. "Well," she says. "I'm certainly capable of driving the big truck," she suggests. "Who else besides Shift and I can drive?" she asks. "If it's only us two, might have to leave one of the Rovers."
"Looks like Miss Merc has the big rig," Chandra says casually. "And it seems like Mister Guy has the other Brumby. Lets just take one and go. We'll probably stop together well outside the depot's perimeter, and I doubt we'll get interrupted during our drive."
Miyo is not te talkative sort, it seems, at least today. Perhaps the noobie is nervous? Or focused? Or a mix? Either way, she seems plenty keen on checking her weapons over to make sure their blades are honed and ready.

Vera nods, flipping a salute to Shift. "All right," she says, slipping up into the driver's seat of one of the Brumby, smiling over at her, and popping one of the doors. At least here she's a little more familiar. "Did you know last time I drove, it was full speed right into a towed rocket launcher? Bullseyed the bastard right in the hitch."
Shift shakes his head, "Lets not press our luck like that again. You don't have luck with you today." He smirks.
Vera grins at Shift. "Why do you think I'm spooked?"
Dust, it prevails, the drive isn't short by any means, it's pushing six hours by the time people arrive, and it's already dusk. There's the condition of the roads, which means the five ton can't push through some spots safetly, then there is other spots where you don't want to test it. When you see bullets lancing across a few kliks of road. Better to double back, and around. So by the time any one arrives? It's Dusk. Fortunately, the depot is still easy to find with out the GPS saying where it is. The lighting is sporadic, but there, and there's the bobbing lights of two drones moving around the fence, using some thing to weld on spots. But, they said there was six total. Indra advocates stopping on the road overlooking the Depot, good six hundred meters out. Unless people disagree.
Six hundred meters is fine. Shift parks the truck, then gets out, his eyes magically zooming in to view the drones as best he can. "Alright, so we have no idea how thier alarm system works, why don't we pick them off, and see what happens."

Vera stops the truck and nods to Chandra, dismounting. With FMJ loaded into the little bullpup rifle she's brought, she moves around the truck, trying to spot any nasty ambushes that might be lying in wait at the arrival spot, from whence to approach the depot on foot.
The Team has sharp eyes, the depot has three buildings, and a perimeter around it. Barb Wire fence, and concrete barriers, making any hope of just plowing a vehicle in through the perimeter a forlorn hope. One building, the largest..which was -likely- the repair bay, is the worst for the wear. The roof has corrosion in places, and there isn't likely any LAV in side to steal. The other two buildings are smaller, but seemingly, more soundly built. The Two Drones who working are MK6 style Utility Drones, just a forerunner to them. They seem to be unarmed, except for an oversized nail gun. <Which is still some what an intimidating thing to be shot by>. But through out the small depot, there are four larger drones that have tracks, and spot lights, and an articulated mount for a machine gun. Those would be the scary things. "Oooh look at that!" Indra says, ignoring the drones and pointing out a quad mounted missile launcher pointed skywards. "That thing is a Relic!"
Chandra follows, taking a quick glance around. "Keep your eyes open. Not just for enemies. Good to remember the terrain you're on."
Shift nods, "Alright, whomever thinks they wont be wasting ammo, lets start taking shots at these drones. Might as well take them out from here, then move in closer."
"Hold up," Chandra says. "I suggest we take our shots against the mobile drones first, preferrably nearly at once. That first shot? We can take all the time we need to aim, and they won't be alert."
Miyo looks at Shift. "Think you can hit them from here?"
Shift frowns, pulling out his equalizer. "Maybe…" he grins, and takes a moment to line up his shot using the vehicle as cover.
Miyo nods. "I wont say anything if you miss."
Commlink-Manitou> Indrakshi says, "I can flank around and open fire from further out, draw fire?"
Commlink-Shift> Shift says, "If they start throwing out a ton of fire, that wouldn't hurt."
Commlink-Chandra> Chandra says, "You're the merc. Your tactics. My suggestion? Provided you think you have sufficient cover to not get shot up, draw a line of pursuit for the drones that gives us clear firing lines."
Commlink-Manitou> Indrakshi says, "My Ares LMG has further range, and they'll probably come after me then. I don't think the repair drones are equipped to operate as combat models to speak of."
Commlink-Manitou> Indrakshi says, "Oh. Wait. Hey, Hivemaster..how don't you run in, and get them all in a cluster, I'll use the Mortar?"
Commlink-Shift> Shift says, "Run in?"
Commlink-Shift> Shift says, "I'm not sure I understand."
Commlink-Manitou> Indrakshi says, "What? You don't want to Banzai Charge multiple machine guns?"
Commlink-Shift> Shift says, "I could send a smaller drone in to make sure nothing else is going on though. Before we start firing."
Commlink-Manitou> Indrakshi says, "My UCAS friend said there should be multiple automated turrets on the inside of storage buildings, but we need to clear these bastards first, and I'm sure they'll be fun enough. Let me shift to the far side of the depot and I'll open up when I'm in a good spot."
Indra for once, does not go invisible, largely, as Drones care little if you are, and given the cross fire scenariom she doesn't want to be hit. Her LMG is carried over one shoulder, with a belt of AV rounds in the plastic drum for it. She'll be ready in say, ten minutes, but she'll wait for a go ahead from every one else. The Drones don't seem to be overly caring about the situation. Then again, this is hardly the perimeter being breached.
Commlink-Chandra> Chandra says, "I say we split fire. V with me will take NW target. Miss merc. Southeast. Mister guy. West."
Commlink-Posh> Vera says, "Roger. My situational awareness will be around my ankles with this thing," says Vera."
Commlink-Posh> Vera says, "Be great if you can spot or me, Neko"
Commlink-Manitou> Indrakshi says, "Already Gents, Lady, and Brit. Stop your grinning and grab your linens. We're going loud."
Commlink-Shift> Shift says, "Lets see what happens when we go bang."

Thus it begins, Indra's LMG suddenly barking out in the dying light, sending the bullets hammering out to tear into the Drone she choose. In response, the others flood the area with their spot lights, lancing them up and down the terrain Indra is in, and beginning to return fire. Now the team can move into weapon range as Indra deals with the wall of lead about to begin heading her way.
Vera moves up in a crouch, keeping her sharpshooter rifle pointed downwind as she seeks cover, finding few opportunities as she scurries, along with Chandra on point defense, to hopefully close with the side of the building or the fence, eager to hit the dirt with the short barreled rifle before any of the drones can get a bead on her.

Indra started the fight, and it's working according to plan, she's already receiving heavy fire, heavy enough she ends up belly crawling a meter or two to one side to try and get into a lower point of the ground. It throws off her aim enough she doesn't bother firing at this range, trying to reacquire target as bullets spew out around her. Of course, the repair drones are alerted to the situation, and bounce along on their squad wheel base towards the fallen Guard Drone, to begin cutting it's weapon free, apparently, they have secondary programming to fight, and are acquiring a weapon to do so!
Vera continues to move closer, hustling along with Chandra towards the drones, as she works to move to within a reasonable range where she'd have a hope of making a deadier shot.

Shift's shot bounces off, but it draws some heat off Indra, given that the spot lights are beginning to sweep from that drone, around Shift, trying to find him, the other two are still firing heavily at Indra, who has to keep moving about and trying to get a good bead on them. It's likely she doesn't have a Smartlink on her LMG, or surely by now, she'd be firing right? ((Indra is still aiming.))
Vera continues to moving forward, to try to get into engagement range. With the drones still half a kilometer away, that's not a shot she thinks she can make.

Indra can't believe that..Chandra and Vera are skate boarding into a gun fight, really, she can't, it's incredibly -not- a good idea, other then the Drones are so aging they can barely find targets, and another goes down in a heap of scrap. Granted, there's a fucking repair bot trying to tear her apart with gunfire, but she's snickering quietly to her self all the same.
Vera isn't one to argue. "That's…ummm…what's the word…tubular?" she says. Indra for her part, stands up and holds her LMG up to show her position and begins to move towards the depot, switching to her Sabre as she does, her first goal? Well, beyond making sure Drones are truly disable? To confirm the large repair bay, is empty. It seems the most logical place to shove any vehicles to keep them out of sight, and any possible stray shots. But there is no working LAV, some things are not meant to be.
Vera tops up her magazine as she and Chandra arrive at the depot as well, looking rather flushed. "Well!" she says. "You'll have to teach me how to ride that marvelous contraption sometime," she says, looking around rather thoughtully. "Automated auto cannons? Piece of cake, I'm sure."
Shift will bring up one of the armored vehicles, just in case something else pops out, at least closer it provides a means to escape. "Alright, so we need to sweep the buildings now. Likely more drones too."
Indra will kneel down near the vehicle Shift drives up, before going to walk back with him and retrieve the others. Clearly marked of the two buildings is 'Storage' and 'Reactor and Control.' Except the Reactor building also has a red light above the door. The Storage door has a green one. Indra doesn't seem to know much about that at any rate. With the vehicles assembled she sits on the hood of one Brumby. "Any one know about opening old doors?"
Vera shrugs. "Well, if it's not ancient ancient, Chandra and I are both good with locks. I can give it a try first," she says, "And then Chandra can back me up. How about that?" She grins. "I'm multitalented, so I can even have a look at removing the housing."
Indra rolls her shoulders at the question. "I can always blast the doors open, it doesn't really matter, since we need to blow the place before we pull out." She looks at Shift, seems he gets the last say!
Shift chuckles, "Lets try the locks, and if that fails, blast. Have the ladies see what they can do."
Vera nods, cracking her knuckles as she glances around. "So, are we going to have to engage the autoguns, then go for the locks, or do they trigger if I cock up the locks?"
Indra looks at the others when Vera asks that. "I don't know. I just know they're inside the building. I'm going to assume, when we open the doors, they'll scan us, and realize we are infact, not authorized."
Vera nods. "All right," she says. "Shift, I'm thinking about starting a drone financing scheme. We should have a chat. In the meantime, I think you know the drill." She does her best to keep OUT OF THE LINE OF SIGHT of gunfire as she starts to pull open the door, diving to the side just as soon as she's got any sort of opening on the door. Caution from Vera? Gotta keep 'em guessing.
Shift will be under cover as well, now using an SMG that things are in close range.

Apparently, Vera has opted to tinker with the locks on the Reactor/Control building..which is opened to ..well, not silence. There's flashing red lights, and a Klaxon, along with a tinny voice bleating. "Caution. Radiation Critical. Caution. Radiation Critical." Which is why Indra doesn't look like -she- wants to go poking in to much.
"Does it mean -in- the reactor room, or in the damn building?" She asks, of Shift. Like Shift needs to know.
Vera looks back. "Oh, drat. I left my Geiger counter in my other suit of combat armor."
Shift frowns, and shakes his head. "Shut the door, we will have to deal with the storage unit and then pull out. There is no reason to walk into a possible radioactive breach."
Vera looks back at Shift. "What, you don't want to risk genetic damage or a mortar round or two?" she deadpans.
Indra didn't even try to go in that, she's just eyeballing distance between the two buildings. "Assuming the reactor -is- in that building, we can blow it from the storage building." She says and helps close the door. "I suppose we want me to blow the other door, or do we want me to pick it?"
Shift grins, "Lets go to the other one, I'd rather face bullets than radiation."
Vera nods to Shift, moving to close the door if she can, and then follow the group, checking her equipment. She removes her helmet momentarily and gives a good tug on her hair, to see if any comes out. "We could also see if there are any radiation suits in the other areas," she says. "Ideally there'd be no explosions at all if looting is the game. After all, shouldn't you pillage before you burn?"

Indra will kneel down to pull out the autopicker device, letting it begin working, it seems to get through one or two of the locks, but then it runs into some thing more complex, or the thing just broke, because grinds and make bad noises, and then Indra withdraws it. "Feth. Stand back." She says and preps to blow apart the door.
Vera holds out her hand as the lockpicker fouls. "It can't be the right way to just blow the door and go in," she says. "That'll make the facility's AI think it's under attack. If there are defense mechanisms, it'll go hot." She shrugs. "I'll head in the other way," she says. "I'll do what I can to shut down the reactor and find another way through." She grins. "There's probably less of me left that's meat than either of you - I'll probably be the one most likely to be okay."
Indra rolls her shoulders at Vera when she mentions that. "We have to blow the base after we pull any thing we can out. There's no real reason to keep things intact. It'll all be blasted to hell in a few hours..and I don't think even -you- can survive radiation sickness." She points out.
Vera raises an eyebrow. "Funny for -you- of all folks to suddenly be concerned about my safet on a run," she replies to Snow, immediately turning around and heading towards the other door. "There's got to be a way through this other than going through the door. We don't even know if that alarm is valid. It can't be that long that I'd have to be exposed, if it's even a problem, and I can get to top notch care if I need it," she says. "Anyway. Wait for the door to open." She trots off to the other entrance and simply walks through, quickly looking for a control.
"Wait up," Chandra says. "It's not really worth risking it."
Shift just hangs out and waits, letting the womenfolk handle things for now.
"We don't know what's behind that door either," she says. "Have a look up there to see if there's anything interesting," says Vera, stopped at the reactor facility entrance, "but I'm going through this door before we just blow open that other one."
Indra shakes her head a bit, Vera is clearly crazy to her. "I'm breaching it, no matter what we play this as, we're going to have to deal with the auto turrets if it's -any thing- like other UCAS facilities I've seen." What, Indra been inside old UCAS bunkers!

You paged Chandra with 'You can successfully explain, that these locks were added -when- personnel pulled out, so there is no switch to open them, and it's a hardened storage facility. The best bet is to blast the doors open and deal with automated defenses.'.
"What about going in through a ventilation system, or other route? They're not likely to be as hardened, because this place was supposed to be human patrolled as well as the drones, right?" asks Vera.
"These aren't traditional locks," Chandra says, taking a closer look. "I've never quite dealt with a system like this, so I'm not sure, but from what I can tell …" and here she steps back to take a more sweeping look of the depot in general, "the system wasn't designed to let people back in. Those locks were probably added when they pulled out, so there's no way to open them. I think we should let Miss Merc blast the doors. We've got the firepower to take care of stationary defenses."
Vera nods to Chandra. "Well," she says. "That kind of expertise is why I like having you along," she says, moving with a shrug to a reasonably safe position so she'll be able to bring her rifle fire downrange if needed.
Indra for her part, is going to use that spray explosive, and freeze foam to ring the door. She broke the locks, and then she holds up the small detonator and runs the cord out to around the side of the building. "Get Clear!" She shouts, and waits for others to..hopefully run away, she's a good dozen meters to the back of the building, and she's opening her mouth as she triggers the device. There's a massive crash after the explosion as the doors blast inwards off the hinges. Yep, see? Indra's plan worked. The whole Freeze Foam to channel explosions. Also, hopefully no one is deaf.
Shift chuckles and shakes his head, uncovering his ears after the blast. "Well, lets move in, make sure those with anti-vehicular weapons can get clear shots." He pulls out a bee, sending it through the door. "And this will let us see the turrets before they see us."

The first level of the Storage Depot bunker is full of LAV parts, many in sealed containers, or covered in thin amounts of preserving oils. Then there's a corner, and a stair case, and a service elevator. The bottom level has a rolling metal gate, the type you'd see in a mall to keep stores safe at night. There's two cannons here, built into the walls. capable of firing down the hallway from the stairs and elevator. Shift's drone has found where the explosive ordinance is kept. Alot with fuel etc. Oh, and the cannons are quite active, but doesn't acknowledge the small drone as..well. Probably when they were installed, the thing didn't exist.
«Plot» Shift says, "Is there a way to shoot the cannons control system without being in thier line of fire?"
Chandra had her hands clasped over her ears pretty tightly, but the blast still seems to leave her disoriented for a few moments. When she finally gets her bearings, she asks Shift, "What are you seeing?"
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "No. We can take cover in the Elevator and Stair well, but there's no visible control system."
Shift opens his pack, pulling out some sunglasses. "Here, look."
«Plot» Shift says, "Is there room for the bee to get right next to the cannons?"
Shift looks around, "I need some grenades, something high powered, or some demolitions. I can have the drone fly a light charge down there, drop it, and come back. Haul a second, same thing. Then we remote detonate."
"I was thinking the same thing," Chandra says. "I'm worried, though. We've got a lot of fuel and munitions in here. Can we make sure the fireworks don't go off if we do this?"
Indra is rather glad there's a junked out repair shop when Shift mentions that. "I got an idea." She says and goes to look…spark plugs are -just- about perfect, because she can wrap them in Det Cord, which she -has- and then place micro detonators inside the spark plug's rusted core, and connect them. Shift chuckles, "I want to drop them and leave. I don't have to leave my drone right there."
"You telling me you don't want the bards to sing heroic songs about the sacrifice of your drones, hive master?" Chandra asks with a smirk.
Shift smiles, "If you guys agree to pay me three grand to replace one."
Indra will need to use her remote detonator, but thats not really an issue as she holds up each charge for the drones. "I'm not paying for new drones. I already saved some in the past from pissed off monsters, and the evil vents."
Shift takes his time, carefully guiding the drones, especially since he doesnt have a VCR. His guidance is more like someone playing with a mouse and keyboard on an FPS, its good, but not nearly as great as someone jacked in fully.
Indra will simply wait for Shift to tell her when, contrary to popular belief, she isn't batshit insane and wants to blow up Shift's drones. Her Player just likes to try and murder Shift with airplanes and parachutes.
When Shift has setup the drones with Indras help on where to place the demo (via glasses), he will fly the drone off down the hall and take cover. "Alright, that looks good."
Indra triggers the detonator..and other then smoke pouring out of the cannon barrels? There's really no way to tell any thing happened. They barely used a few inches of Det cord, enough to disable the cannons, not enough to cause an explosion. Though no one can even tell that until Shift goes to look!
After the smoke clears Shift will fly his drone back down, to see what sort of damage they came up with.
It's just as it appears, there was a micro detonation, no real way to tell what happened other then some one going down!
"Any report on whether the turrets are disabled?" Chandra asks.
Shift frowns, and shrugs. Maybe it worked, maybe it just warped the barrel and it won't aim well. Someones going to need to test it…"
"I hope you trust your own work, Miss Merc," Chandra says, as if that answer was obvious. "Godspeed."
Indra sneers at Chandra a bit and goes to put on her -gas- mask before going down the stair case. She must, or she doesn't fear death. Or both.

Shift would have given Indra his riot shield, if he had brought it, he has to remember to bring things like that next time.
Well it -sort- of worked. As Shift can watch via his feed, Indra comes down, one cannon does nothing, it clearly was disabled entirely, the other tracks her..Indra looks ready to dodge back, there's a flash of light in the barrel, and then the barrel goes -flying- across the hallway as Indra dives forward, to clang about and impale it self in the wall. After loading up the ordinance they wished, and weighing down the flat bed truck with LAV parts and weapons, which is a tiring task, Indra will set charges using available stores. Millions of Nuyen possibly left behind. It's a nice explosion, Truly. -END LOG-.
