GM: Thistledown
Players: Riga, Chaz, Thistledown.
Synopsis: The ork underground hier Chaz, Riga and Thistledown to give the local chapter of the Humanis Policlub a bad reputation…by starting a race riot at a community park.
Date: September 2069
The calls come through in the usual way and a meet is set. Mr. Johnson, in this time and place is a work worn looking ork. Covered in scars and slow moving he looks like he's been through the wringer countless times and for some reason keeps jumping back into the tub for more. He has a power of personality though, a way of commanding attention in the room. He waits for you all to take a seat at the table he's selected in the back of a small bistro. He's obviously expecting metahumans of the larger variety as the table is fairly high and two of the chairs are reinforced for trolls.
Thistledown enters and takes a seat, he's literally dripping black, a dusting of black motes falls continuously from him, a showering of stardust in negative. His clothing drinks light except where small gems set into the cloth wink and twinkle in a rainbow effect. You've seen countless kids try for a look like this in the clubs, but very few pull it off to the degree of the youth that takes a seat at the table here. He scans the menu, orders a cherry cola, and waits for the rest.
Riga struts in to the place she was called to, she is damn obvious, but somone calling for a troll is usually not calling for inobvious people. So she just walks in and after having been directed the right way, she sit down waiting for the things to come. All she asks for is a beer.
Chaz gets the call and makes his way to meet the ork. He moves to take a seat, his duster billowing out as he sits. His sunglasses cover his eyes, occasional flashes of light against his skin. A small datacable coming down from them to trail into the pocket of his jacket. After placing an order for a water, he cups his hands in front of him on the table.
Mr. Johnson motions for the three of you to lean in, he keeps his voice low as he talks, there's a hum as he engages a white noise maker but it seems as though he doesn't put a lot of faith into it. "Thank you all for coming, to be up front. I need someone to take action against a chapter of the Humanis Policlub in the area, if you want out now, leave and I won't hold it against you, and I won't ask if it's sympathy or fear that made you leave." The policlub, with it's long history of actions against metahumans, can be a sticking point for many reasons, this ork is taking few chances.
The beer and soda arrive, Mr. Johnson going quiet for a moment but smiling at the dwarven girl doing the serving, she wears high boots that give her at least an 8 inch boost.
The girl leaves and Mr. Johnson turns to you awaiting your answers.
Thistledown shrugs, "I've got nothing for or against them that would stop me from accepting your money."
Riga chuckles, watching the J carefull, "I got no sympathies fer da hooded goons, chummer, had my run ins widda gus goons already 'n if I kin help keep 'em low, I'll gladly help."
Chaz nods and smirks at the offered question. "Could be fun to show 'em exactly what 'worthless metas' can do," he says.
Thistledown glances at the three metas, "Alright, just remember if you guys start to rally that humans are metas too…I've no desire to be lynched in a reverse racism movement."
Riga shrugs, "I neva had problems with humans…Jus' wid racists…o' any kind…a look shortly grazing over Chaz."
Chaz chuckles and nods towards Riga and then to Thistledown. "It's all about beliefs, not blood."
«OOC» Thistledown says, "The ork is about a 6, though it's the weathered grandfather type charisma. This guy could lead a march into hell and he'd still have thousands at his back."
The old ork smiles at Riga and Chaz, and generally ignores Thistledown, "Excellent, the policlub is strengthening it's membership in the area under the guise of a reformed movement. Education and training to make meta's more civilized, rather than extermination. It all smacks of the 'education' of the natives two centuries ago when they tried to wipe out the last of the american indians through education. They're barely keeping themselves in check though and violence is on the rise, they've got a 'peaceful' demonstration planned, a rally in one of the public parks. I need you three to make sure it turns into a riot, my connections will have security forces on standby. We figure an arrest record for each of the members will set them back a fair bit."
Chaz chuckles a little and smirks. "A riot… That could be fun," he says and looks over at Riga and then to Thistledown and nods. "Given this crew, should be fairly easy to pull off."
Riga ponders, "Hmmm, do we have somethin' ter use on that, or do we jus' try ter stoke 'em up?"
The old ork chuckles, "My thoughts were that a metahuman cross couple, perhaps an elf with a troll, might be enough to set them off, though I wouldn't risk anyone from my camp, I've heard tell you two might be able to handle starting such a scrap and making it out intact." He looks over at Thistle, "And you, I've heard are good at encouraging people to do things, I suspect you could prime the pump as it were, but how you start the fraccas is your business, you just need to make it happen, and not make it look contrived…no throwing tear gas or whatever into the midst."
Riga blinks a bit, doping a side look at Chaz, "Ummm…well, I dunno…I never dit /dat/ kinda stuff…but ya never learn out, I gues…i usually jus' break bones."
Thistledown looks at the two, "Oh, I think if the two of you show up arm-in-arm at the wrong place at the right time that should be enough, I'm just worried about getting you out safely."
Chaz looks over at Thistledown and mmms. "Well, I can handle myself in a fight," he offers and shrugs, "Though we could always arrange to have some police standing nearby."
Riga shrugs, "I dun really think /we/'d have ter worry…I'm more worried dat dere is people left ter arrest after we got away…Assumin' i kin use Sally 'n Sheila in this…" she pats the sports bag she has with her.
The ork looks trouble for a moment, "I can have the security on hand, but I don't have strings thick enough to pull that would keep you from getting a record. If you can manage that yourselves feel free." He spreads his hands, "Due to the danger involved we've brought together a fair bit of nuyen to compensate you, I hope you'll find that thirty thousand each is enough." He looks at Riga curiously, "Who are Shiela and Sarah, I'm afraid I didn't plan compensation for more than the three of you."
Riga takes out a pair of twin Katanas from the bag, "They are lovely lil' babies. Dun need much fer a livin'.", she explains with a grin.
The ork looks over the weapons, "I'm not sure you could pull those out without making the riot look contrived, the goal is to have it look like the policlub rioted and set out to lynch a bunch of metas, not that they were defending themselves."

Chaz nods and waits for the answer to Riga's question as he listens to the requirements of the mission, just letting the facts play out in his head.
The Johnson pulls out a small community park map, showing an ampitheter style setting with a childrens playground off to the side. "Kid's Castle Park, they're trying to show their community involvement by holding it at a public park dedicated to children."
Thistledown lets the other two talk, seemingly content to let those with a more vest interest hash it out.

«OOC» Thistledown says, "Mid level lifestyle area, though the ok did say he'd have security forces on hand so it might be higher."
"Kids park, eh? Any kids like there atta time…? Ya know I have no qualms ter beat up some Huamnis guys…but kids gittin' hurt is a different matter…", Riga says.
The ork shrugs, "It's an open park, most likely there will be some children there, you'll want to steer things away from that side of the park.
Chaz nods his head slightly as he listens to the location, picturing it in his head. "So, a protest of Humanis at a public park in a fairly common area, turned into a riot to prove exactly what slime they are" he says and nods. "For Thirty thousand? Call it Thirty five, since you get what you want, and you know who to call the next time you're trying to make fools out of those racists. Keeps you in the clear, makes them the agressors, and I can even make sure it gets filmed, so we not only get arrest records, but we get a nice soundbite for the news."

The Ork smiles at Chaz, "Call it thirty and we remember who to call fondly, call it thirty five and we remember who to call, but we owe them no favors."
Riga just listens to the haggle. Hitting her element, not words.
Chaz hmmms quietly and looks at the others before nodding. "Always good to have friends in low places," he says and nods, "Thirty's good," he replies.
The ork nods to Chaz, "Done."
Thistledown looks between Chaz and Riga, "I can rile things up fairly easily moving through the crowd, you guys will have the hard work though, how do you want to handle it?" He points to the pamphlet, "If you guys cause your trouble over here, by the parking lot, I can keep an eye on things at the playground down here. I won't be able to help you much though if things go sideways…you'll also be near the vehicles, so if anybody is keeping a piece in their glove box there's a better chance of it coming into play. If you do your stuff on this side by the woods, you could leg it through the trees, but I'll lose sight of you immediately."
Riga shrugs, "Hmmm, I assume wearin# obvious weapons is notta good idea…so Sheila 'n Sally are out…how 'bout me guns? I'd feel less … naked if I had some emergency plan ter resolve ter…dun git me wrong. I'll go to great pains ter git da plan workin' but I wanna live through it…"
Chaz nods as he looks at Thistledown. "Probably say the vehicles would be the way to go anyway," he says, "Just imagine the possible charges there. Assault, assault with a deadly weapon, possible possession of an unregistered firearm…."
The pamphlet displays the map linked to earlier. There is a raised stage, with a large grassy area sloping uphill to the north. The presenters would stand on the stage, facing the audience on the lawn. Behind the stage are a few picnic tables and then the entrance to the playground itself. A massive open air style playground full of nostaligia for those old enough to remember open sky. The playground has only one entrance, presumably for the safety of the children, but also to prevent lower society riff-raff and street toughs from making it a hangout. The parking lot is to the west, and a small growth of trees borders it on the north, east and south.
The ork nods, "Oh, definitely bring your self defense weapons, just remember that if you pull too much heavy gear their spin-doctors will turn it from an angry mob out for meta human blood to an uprising of citizens protecting the playground from angry uneducated metas. This is a delicate balance we need to hit here."
Riga grumbles, "Frag…never heard SMG's called 'self defense weapons'…Other 'n inna 'Rens at least. So I'm prolly gonna resolve ter my good ole hands after all…" She too has a look at the map, "Hmm, yep Woods are traps. Kinna be seen, but kinna see either. I'd prefer a vehicle closeby…assumin' I dun have ter ride as cargo again…"
Chaz tilts his head. "I could see about getting my hands on a realistic baby doll, since don't want to put a real baby in the way of fire. But a mixed-meta couple walking their baby, thus polluting the genepool more, and corrupting humankind.. We would mke a perfect target."
Thistledown nods to Chaz then turns to Riga, "Good call, I don't have anything that'll make a decent get away car for the two of you. I can manage slipping out myself but you'll need something to get gone quick." He looks at Chaz, "That's almost scary good, but you'll have to make sure you don't leave the baby behind or they'll know it's a setup."
The ork smiles to the three of you, "I see you have the idea, I'll leave you to the execution of it then, the less I know, the less I can be forced to tell."
Riga laughs, "Let's Big Moma care fer da baby. I'd say leave out da carriage 'n have da thing inna sling around me belly 'n stuff will look good 'nough. 'n will help a lot fer 'accidentially' loosin' da baby."
"Me bust's shure enough big 'nough fer a mom dat nurtures at least…"
Chaz nods to Riga and chuckles. "And if nothing else, gives you a bit more armor as well," he jokes before nodding. "Anyway, I think we got a plan."
The ork excuses himself leaving you with three credsticks to be activated upon completion of the mission.
The rally is scheduled two days from now, running from 10:00am to 4:00pm with a barbecue lunch served at 1:00. It should be a fairly big event by the info available with at least a thousand people in attendance. There are several speakers slated, but no-one really notable.

Matt answers the phone, "Hoi Chummer, you need a film crew? No trouble at all. What kind of event we looking at here, wedding, birthday, sports event, or should I just classify it in the 'naughty other' section like most of our clients." He laughs.
Chaz smirks and winks. "Well, what we're going to be doing is a sports event, a new charity baseball league that is working on getting started and could use some coverage," He says, "Figure it'll get you some press time, if nothing else, and the more contacts in the media, the better."
Matt chuckles, "Ah, well. I guess it looks good on our client list to have people every once in a while that do something other than smut, it disappoints the film crew though. What kind of personel are you looking for, I can get one guy out there with your basic cam for about 500, I can get you a multi-shot ground crew for about 2500. Which you really need if you want decent coverage of a sporting event. If you want to jump it up to 5 grand I can send out one of our drone guys, that'll get you 4 on the ground and 2 in the air, it'll make your little league team look pro…assuming any of them can hit the ball."
Chaz nods and chuckles to Matt. "Alright, they'll be setting up around three, so probably be best to get there around two-ish so that you can arrange everything…. and since this is the first time, I think the multi-shot crew might be the best option," he offers.

Mat smiles into his vid-com, "You got it chummer, I'll have 'em there at two, though next time give me a bit more lead, these guys have pretty tight schedules, luckily there's a…'naughty other' category recording going on nearby that I can bring them over from afterwards, though don't let the little leaguers near the recording van…there might be some footage in there that'll scar them."
The weather wizards were working overtime and the day of the rally dawns clear and cool, though by midday the forecast calls for it to warm up.
Thistledown is dressed to look young, his hair bleached to a sandy blond, his eyes a pale blue, his clothing straight off the rack from Ables, Crombie and French. Jeans artfully faded and a puffy fleecy hoodie, under it however he has his form fitting fullsuit. He looks just like the older brother of one of the kid's playing in kid's castle, possibly as part of his disguise (or possibly because she's got really pretty lips) he's making a good deal of progress towards getting the digits of a girl there watching her siblings.
Riga has prepared a bit herself, hearing mostly casual clothes bu having the fullsuit of her formfit underneath, just hiding more obvious part of it with casual clothing and a still warapped up baseball bat in her backpack, looking like a mom comming from a shopping, maybe on her way to presnet her son with a new present after training, while having little sister in the sling. Her voluminous forms covering up most of the discrepancies, tatoos hidden under extensive makeup. Her Secure jacket not /that/ unusual in an area as the one the rally will take place.

Thistledown finds a spot about halfway up in the castle where he and his new friend can snuggle up while keeping an eye on their siblings, from this vantage Thistle can see most of the people assembling on the lawn, as people arrive his eyes glitter from time to time but the girl doesn't seem to notice, after about 45 minutes he explains that his mom just picked up his little brother, but that he'd like to stay here with her, the girl doesn't seem to mind that much at all.

Chaz dresses in a garage band tshirt, a new indie group known as 'Death by Defenestration'. Over that is an undone flannel shirt and a pair of ragged jeans and scuffed boots. A Denver Thunderheads Urban Brawl cap keeps the sun from his eyes, his pointed ears sticking out of his hair which is done back in a ponytail. He moves along with Riga,carrying a couple bags from shopping as well. Three baseballs to go with the bat and a mitt weigh down one bag, while the other is made of some groceries; eggs, milk, I can't believe it's not flour…

It's almost funny to see couple walking there, the extra large woman in all aspects beside the small elf 'boy' in comarison. Him carrying the bags, where she obviously is the much more massive person. Despite beign uncomfortable in her role she seem to do at least halfway decent at playing the loving wife or girl frined of the elf.
It's after lunch, and there have been a few beers opened, the sun is high overhead and the speeches have started to wear down to the point where even the speakers are losing some enthusiasm. The crowd is in a generally good mood, surrounded by like minded individuals that all look pretty much the same. Not a bad place to pick up a wife or hubby that won't have strange ideas, safe place to bring your kids, these are the right sort of folks to know…but what's that strolling along the path…god, damn metas, can't even give us a day of peace. And look at them, they don't even look ashamed of what they're doing, don't they know how wrong it is to bring a child into the world cursed like that. It's like when they let retards breed, or those AIDs babies. There's just something wrong with them. That's why they NEED to be educated, but some people can't be educated, some people need to be taught a lesson…
"Lovely day we're having," Chaz says and looks around as he walks through the park with Riga. He looks up at her and then down at her bust, or is it the baby he's looking at. Smiling he turns his attention forward, turning his cybernetic senses on, to hear when the people come charging, which is the expected reaction. He doesn't make any movements to the agressive, since right now hes's playing innocent bystander.
In a van in the parking lot a video crew is transferring the last of some rather unique video footage off their cameras and preparing to film a baseball game. "Hoi, didn't think I'd be shooting two films featuring baseball bats today." One laughs to the other. "Difference is, when the girls on this team use them it'll be one at a time."
Riga nods, "Yes, dear…think Patrick will he happy for the presents?", she asks "I know he was badgering me for ages to get him new stuff, but…I dunno. He was pretty specific with what he wanted. And /his/ bat was not there anmore…" She sighs as if that was the most urgent problem in the world.
The muttering on the field grows louder, and a half full beer can sails towards the couple, it falls short but there's a rumble of agreement from the crowd. The presenters, realizing what's happening move to try and quiet the masses.

One beer can becomes several followed by rocks and other heavier objects that start to land dangerously close to Riga and Chaz.
«OOC» Thistledown says, "If you guys want to pose, Riga, whatever it is you do or say to them, it REALLY pisses them off."
Thistledown surfaces from a particular good point in the snuggles to look over the field, "Hmmm he says drowsily, somethings going on down there…go find your brother, I'll meet you back here tomorrow, yeah?"
Riga discusses daily measuvres with her 'hubby' until she comes over one of the pamphlets flying around, having a look at it she somewhat overloud says, "Damn NAZI propaganda…will that never end…?"
Chaz hmmms, looking out at the crowd before shaking his head at the comment from Riga. "Naw, not until those men can come out of the closet and admit their true feelings for each other," he says, loudly.
Several members of the crowd surge towards the metahuman couple, others shout hatred, some shove others towards them. The couple stands on the path near the cars, leaving the crowd a good deal of uphill running to reach them.

The fastest runners break away from the pack as they charge up the incline, mostly athletic looking younger men and a few women. It's a steep enough climb that a few are slipping and falling but the ones headed towards you look to be the cream of the crop.

Nine of the fastest in the crowd make it up the hill at roughly the same time, they don't seem to have formed much of a plan, a few reach down to grab clumps of dirt and throw it at you as they scramble up the hill.

Approaching the Troll eveninna group proves to be much ore than they bargained for, the first guy gets nice punch to his nose, just as he is about the strike for Riga.

The baseball is quick to flash out of the bag, then pulled back and tossed at the van. Not much point in paying for a film crew if you're not going to use them. As the ball arcs through the air towards its target, Chaz yells out, "Get away from her! We haven't done anything! Leave us alone!" trying to play up the innocent routine as well as hopefully spur them on into proving that might makes right.
The film crew stick their collective heads out in time to see the crowd descending on Riga and Chaz, there's enough debris flying that the baseball isn't the only thing landing in the area now. The cameras come out and filming begins.

Riga moves in random patterns as the guys surround her, one after the the other gets a little snuff to his nose as she seeminlgy randomly flayling around strikes out to the guys, She still tries to keep an eye out to the masses. She can hold of a few, but not an army.

The first wave descends on the couple and child, several get thrashed by the mother spinning madly to defend her child, the father however doesn't fare as well taking several hits as he tries to sort out all the bags he was carrying and defend himself.

The first group falls back, checking on the folks that got clubbed by the troll, as they regroup Chaz and Riga take off running and make it to their get away vehicles, as they slip out they see a large group of uniformed and un-uninformed security making it's way towards the park, a high percentage of the plainclothes officers are metas, it's pretty obvious what's going to happen when the orks and trolls arrive and start trying to regain control of this unruly mob.
The couple break into a run, a short dash to their waiting escape vehicle then a quick drive through a squad of incoming officials. Many of the metahuman officers are in plainclothes, the orks obviously dressed down to incite the crowd further.
Thistle quietly slips off into the woods when things look to be well underway, a teen who'd rather not get involved in this sort of trouble heading for home.
Chaz puts in a call to Matt letting him know that the baseball game is being called off, some sort of trouble at the park.
Mat sounds like he's excited when you call him, "Something going down, of course there's something going down, just the news story that's going to make me a mint, I've got footage of the Humanis gathering giving the beat down on some poor meta couple, it's worth a fortune. Look, don't think I'm being rude or anything but I've got to get this unloaded quick before other footage turns up. I'll talk to you later."
The footage never surfaces, but stories of the riot spreads and each of the new Policlub members has a healthy arrest record, the policlub keeps a lookout for the Troll and Elven couple that caused all the trouble, but never seem to turn up much evidence on them. If they ever cross paths again though, they'll be sure to notice.
