Burn the witch, says the Loch Nar! (AQ)
GM: Lars
Players: Dalton, Nine, Adam
Synopsis: Loch Nar Dweller, and she turned him into a frog… newt.
Date: 07/16/2070

Dalton has spent the day out at Haven, cleansing most of the area around the reservoir, as the day draws to a close, he figures he can get in an quick trip to the Metaplanes with a woman that Adam says needs more time there. He finds a place to relax at Haven, and projects from his body, he looks around briefly, then turns in place and steps forward into the metaplanes.

"Oh, woe be to the planes, for before me stand two meat-bags of damaged goods." The dweller appears before Dalton and Nine Lives as a glowing green orb, pulsing with malevolance. "All we need is a thir.. ah, here we are now. Very well. Seekers of magic, behold my power." It pulses that sickly green, and you see images throughout the ages of hateful acts. Wars. Riots. Muggings. BurningsMurdersLynchingsCyclingFasterandfasteruntilyoucanseenothingbutfeelthehate.

Nine huhs. She does not like astral questing with folks she does not know up down and inside out, but she does trust the judgment of Adam, and… she has seen this Dalton a few times. Although, she has always been in some horrible mood, where Dalton could hardly work what should his natural charm. Nine does watch him though, doing the cleansing, like a curious cat would do. That was always the one metamagic she had wanted to initially learn, first, but all the shadow circumstances of her past year had forced masking at her, instead. The woman does not seem to get bored at all, watching the astral, and she finally goes up to the atrium once he is done and it is decided that they are going to go on an AQ together. Unable to be nervous, cause she has a ton of baggage about her, Nine finds herself some pillows upon which she throws her Mother's greatcoat down, and then flops down herself, and tries to relax… finally, with some mind over body, she does. She is the last one to actually get projected, and then she heads to the threshold, too. Zoom!

Adam, on the other hand, is already at Haven. Go figure, right? He makes his way down to the Aquatic Observatory and walks over the ornate water channel floor until he makes his way to the center. Sitting in full lotus, he sits down there— allowing the flowing water to go around him as his spirit slips out and goes to the threshold.

The light of the orb shines first on Dalton, like a spotlight. "I don't suppose I should be surprised that you would seek to control. You who ever feel that control is just beyond your grasp!" The spotlight moves to Adam, searing across his astral form, penetrating to his innermost thoughts. "And you, water boy, seek knowledge that will make others uncomfortable?" The light pulses with mirth, flashing more images like it did before, hostile and angry emotions washing over. The light turns next on Nine. "You seek to hide. Who do you hide from? He who has marked your nether realm? Everyone around you? Yourself? You can run, but you cannot hide. Better if you choose to confront your fears. But, let us see if you are worthy for knowledge this day!"

Dalton nods "Of course I seek control, sometimes its the best way to avoid resorting to outright violence, if I can control a situation, I can control the outcome."

Nine frowns as the hateful acts are revealed by the orb, and then sighs as it speaks about her marks, almost looking down… almost distracted, but, then she remembers something that Adam once told her, and she looks up just in time to make sure that she shows off her Sorcery prowess. She is not nearly as skilled as the other two, but she rips a triangle of mana from the astral space and brandishes its burning image. "I already have plans to meet with him to discuss matters. Thank you." she grumbles cattishly.

Adam glances over toward Nine and nods once to her in approval before looking toward the orb again. He uses one hand to brush back the hair of his astral form, and then he replies, "It is better than what could be done." and leaves his explanation at that, knowing that many would simply shoot those who dare intrude upon their territory, where as, he has plans to scare them. :)

The light flares back to Dalton, wafting malevolance at him. "Yet, always shall full control be ever from your grasp, for you do not control the emotions of your past." The orb then begins to spin rapidly and fades to a pinpoint, the brightness it casts inversely proportionate to its size, until all that is, is green light. Then the scene changes and you all find yourself, surrounded by a mob. Rage is on the faces of the mob. Screaming angry voices assault the senses of the trio, wafting over them in waves of ire.

Dalton raises his hands in a gesture of surrender, though his face hardly reflects that attitude, he smiles and tries to look harmless "Alright, alright, can someone please explain to me what all the fuss is about? I'm sure we can fix whatever has happened, make everything right, we just need to know what the problem is."

Nine scans all around them amidst the green light, and then she fixates her green eyes (still that color even on the astral plane) upon the mob at hand. Frowning, Nine rarely likes crowds, but she rememebers that this is an AQ, and that crazy things happen here. Gritting her teeth, Nine brings her hands up as if she were going to cover her ears, realizing that Dalton, the smooth guy! He is doing the talking. She decides to wing him with a nod, and body language in his direction that suggests she agrees with whatever it is he offered, cause it would be the best way.

Adam frowns just barely before reverting to a well-practiced calm, cold, and collected demeanor. He says firmly, "Yes, please state the problem. Our comrade is correct, maybe we can fix it." Basically, winging for Dalton, only verbally instead of with the body language like Nine did.

A woman is pushed forward amongst the crowd, dressed all in black, face hastily painted green, with what appears to be a gumdrop stuck on what would otherwise be a rather pretty nose. "She's a witch!" Others call out, "Burn her! Throw her into the bog!" The crowd then calms a bit, looking at the trio expectantly.

Dalton looks around at the crowd, trying to judge how he can potentially sway them "Alright, before we can burn a witch, there must be a trial. I need people to bring me evidence of her witchcraft. Who among you will step forward and give evidence?"

Nine glances at her comrades for a moment, and then she moves forward with some athleticism, jumping over whatever obastacles (or trying) and moving along the stairs before she gets to the woman, offering out her hands as if she were going to offer to take the bonds. She has on a poker face now, having adjusted to the scene before them. "Here, let me handle her." in a tone that says she knows what she is doing.

For a moment, Adam watches his team mates go into awe inspiring motions— from judiciating to cheer leading. He crosses his arms across his chest and looks out to the crowd and reads them one at a time before looking for/to the accused.

"She turned him into a frog!" one of the men proclaims, holding up.. a newt. Nobody said these guys were smart. Another of the men nods solemnly and hands the woman into Nine's custody roughly, pushing the 'witch' roughly into Nine's arms. "And she put a hex on me private bits!" another of the men complains, scratching at his groin vehemently.

The accused sighs and rolls her eyes to Nine. "Actually, I imagine that was the wench at the local brothel that the lout cheated on me with. My own husband! Can you believe it? Trying to have me burned." She sighs and shakes her head, following behind Nine.

Dalton nods as he listens to the charges "Very well, first, the frog. Who among you is missing? Who was turned into a frog?" His gaze moves over the crowd, trying to stare them down, trying to appear impressive.

Nine has some compassion for other women that is hard to explain the initial source. And so when the lady is pushed into her arms, Nine tightens her arms with motions that might -look- like she is just grabbing ahold of her, but she is actually very careful. While the others are raging to Dalton about their problems, Nine whispers to the lady closely, "Come on." but the tone is not very harsh and she moves to adjust her arms, taking the other woman by the bicep and then trying to lead her along… glad she follows and without much fuss, yeah. Nine had been worried that the woman would not cooperate. Nine glances up at Adam and then over to Dalton. She is rather impressed, but she returns to her duties of leading the lady over to a spot behind Dalton, so he can be the center focus of everything right now. Nine turns her back to the crowd, but with Dalton behind her in this position, so she can look to the woman and give her a reassuring smile. "Would you like to sit, ma'am?" Nine uses her super soft voice, so the raging crowd will be unlikely to hear her over their own rantings.

"Reasoning with those without reason is— a rather futile process," Adam notes— as if he has had some experience with that note. Instead he turns his attention to Nine and the woman, "I think it's high time we left. Even if she did return to this social group, this would just occur again."

"Thomas, the baker!" One man pipes up, seeming quite thoroughly cowed. "She owed him money for bread, and she refused to pay! When he went to confront her at her home, she did this to him!" another adds, nodding. "The blacksmith went missing last week, too." and yet another adds, "And Bob, the builder!" He sniffs, "Poor little Bob, with his little red helmet." The crowd starts to get riled up again, then glances warily at Dalton and settles.

Meanwhile, the woman smiles prettily to Nine and nods, folding her bound hands dantily in her lap as she rests herself on an overturned bucket, smiling unconcernedly.

Dalton nods "Very well, we seem to have many victems here tonight, and it is tragic." he pauses for a moment "There is hope though, you must search for the frogs, find them, and once we have found them, we can return them to thier human forms, we will take the witch into custody for one week, at the end of that week, we will perform the holy rite that will exorcise the witch and return her victems to normal. Go! You must find them quickly before they are eaten by wild animals!" he gestures with his hands, pointing behind the crowd into the distance.

Nine looks to Adam and then tilts her head some, "Are we already at the Citadel, then?" Apparently, Nine did not realize that they actually found where they needed to be. Glancing to the woman, and then glancing to Adam, Nine says, "We could take her with us. Maybe she is a traveller from another dimension, also seeking knowledge like we do? Did we… 'get' the stuff? I don't think I know anything about invisibility yet…" Glancing to the woman, and then to Dalton, and then back to the woman, Nine does the o.O face, with whiskers, too. Though, she does say "Ingenious!" about the tactic that Dalton just used.

Dalton shakes his head as the mob, and the witch, vanish. He turns around and moves towards the others "Alright, so, what next?" He looks between Adam and Nine

Nine's cheeks -both- turn red, and she reaches up to touch at the one that had been nearest the woman, doing so carefully with her fingertips, and then she looks toward Adam, "You're amazing." and then to Dalton, "and you, too." she says, but seems more shy about complimenting someone barely known (for now, maybe soon to change yeah!) out right. Nine points to the hill that the woman indicated, and then she bolts off for that direction, cause Adam did advise that they were needing to get out of here!

Adam nods his head and with that note— heads towards the hill. He does not linger on here any longer than he needs to. The mere presense likely is effecting IQ.

Dalton watches Nine sprint off, and chuckles, especialy since that gives him a good view of her posterier. He then too starts off towards the hilltop, moving fast enough to keep Nines ass in view.

In short order, the Citadel is found. Within are three chests, each containing a key to unlocking the power you each desire.

Nine does have some curves, yo. She runs to try to race the guys, to see if she can get there firstly, giving Dalton the greatest view ever.

«Plot» Lars says, "Fin."
