Arent You Glad I Used Dial?

GM: Nina
Players: Vlaeden, Blink, Nina (via Trinity)
Synopsis: Dwarven rigger/smuggler gets shot down in the Warrens (plane) and crashes in the Sticks. Trinity is in the Souk Marketplace scouting for possible magical group prospects for Nina for a couple hours in the early morning when this goes down. She informs Nina immediately through their telepathic link and Nina confirms she should attempt to see if there are any survivors and offer healing if possible to the injured.
As they are traveling, Trinity is relaying info to Nina and Nina arranges a 'job' with Tony Marchino for recovery of the smuggler's cargo and if possible the rigger as well if they can save him. This info is relayed via the telepathic link and Trinity acts as a Johnson, hiring Blink and Vlaeden with the promise of cash to protect her and she lays out the goals.
Blink, Vlaeden and Trinity race to the crash scene. To beat the masses there, Vlaeden uses Control Thoughts and gets a guy to give them a ride. A go-gang gets in the mix, Blink shoots the troll leader (Metal Dave) of the Horsemen gang and then taunts him openly in front of his crew. The trio leave the car after getting to the Sticks and Vlaeden sends the driver back (control thoughts) to smash into and crush the go-gangers etc that have grown in numbers as the chase developed.
The trio make for the nearby crash site.
The driver of the car ends up gunned down after a short while by 38 gangers that are very pissed off. Joe (the random guy in the car) does not come home to his family that night.
At the crash site the group discovers its a 4 story abandoned textile factory and the two major local gangs in the Sticks are already on site in a gun battle to see who gets to the roof where the plane crashed first.
Under cover of chaos, the three levitate up to the roof and then get down through the hole in the roof to the crashed plane inside the top floor. The gun fight is coming up the floors as one gang wins the fight and starts for the top floor.
The rigger is dead, but Blink recovers his head (nasty). The trio works as a team to free the smuggled cargo from the wreck and get up and out just as the gangers are coming up the stairs to claim the cargo.
Vlaeden spirits Blink away with Levitate while she holds the cargo and he climbs on her back. Trinity uses 3d Movement and pretends she's using a spell to leviate like a mage. The three get North before the gangers can fire on them, bugging out fast and not delaying to play the part of a hero.
Trinity, through Nina arranges for the pickup of the cargo and the head (rigger ware worth good money in the head) and the team makes it through the warrens to deliver it to a van full of Italian mafia hitmen for payment.

** GM Nina **
This early Sunday morning in the Warrens finds Blink at the Souk Marketplace. One place in the Warrens where the gangs have called a truce and open fighting and turf wars are a big no-no.

Currently the vendors are setting up shop for the day, unpacking their carts onto their tables and in their booths for sales.

There are a few early customers, vagrants and children (some orphans) wandering about allready, asking if they can help (wanting a little money for helping the vendors unpack).

The early morning smells of the eatery area where the food vendors and picnic tables and crates are located waft across the market and give energy to the workers. The smell of soy-caf drifts lazily across the noses.

Blink is in a poor mood - which is not too unusual for her. Poor, easily irritated, and wandering through the market aimlessly, she has picked up a cup of coffee and… that's about it.

She sips the soycaf and makes a bit of a face. It, too, is bad, but she can at least watch the vendors starting to lay out their wares. The woman adjusts her sunglasses absently, eyeing the stalls in case anything leaps out at her - hey, you never know when you might find a bargain… right? And it kills time.

Blink spots an interesting figure in the crowd wandering through and seemingly ignoring the vendors and the children and homeless helpers. The woman is short of six foot tall, black hair slicked back on her head and short. She is wearing gloss black mirrored sunglasses and is dressed in a gloss black vinyl body suit covering from her neck to her hands and down to her gloss black knee high black vinyl boots. This woman is thin and trim, atheltically built with long legs and age that could be around the mid twentys to early thirties.

The lady comes within about 20 feet of Blink on the other side of a row of market tables selling used backpacks and bags and she offers Blink a polite nod.

Blink notices the woman - mostly because she could not look much less like your typical Warrens rat or gangbanger. Blink eyes her for several seconds, trying to get a sense of her - and when there's a polite nod, that makes Blink narrow her eyes just a little bit. Politeness? In the Warrens? Okay, something was definitely up.

"Hoi, chummer." She mutters vaguely, giving a more wary nod of her own.

The black vinyl woman stops across the table and picks up a small bag to examine it but it seems more a ruse as an excuse to talk with Blink than to purchase the bag. She glances up briefly during talking so he isn't looking constantly and being to obvious they are talking, "Good morning.. how's the coffee this morning?" she asks politely enough.

About this time a sputter is heard in the sky and a loud bang.

Looking skyward about 5000 feet up is: http://postimg.org/image/5ukjijk9v/

"Tastes like drek." Blink replies, somewhat less politely. When there's a bang, the young woman's hand goes for her gun purely on instinct - but it doesn't take her more than a split second to realize that the sound isn't a gunshot at all, and more importantly, that she hasn't been hurt.

Looking up into the sky, her brow knits. "What the hell is that?"

(( Vlaeden Joins the plot room ))

Summary: Early Sunday morning, Souk Market.
Blink and lady in black vinyl outfit just said good morning. Bang and sputter heard in sky. http://postimg.org/image/5ukjijk9v/

Vlaeden is on the edge of the Souk and just arriving when he also sees the plane. Everyone seems to see the plane right now.

The vinyl clad woman looks skyward quickly at the sound, her hands though don't dart for a weapon, she just puts the bag down slowly and squints at the plane that is now on fire and descending fast.

The Vinyl woman looks over to Blink with concern, "Somone is going to need some medical attention when they land I believe… and scavengers might be an issue as well. I'm going to try and get to where they crash and see what I can do."

Vlaeden stops his supply hunting as he notices the crowd looking skyward and lets his gaze drift in the same direction. His expresion turns grim and he tightens the grip of one hand on the shoulderstrap of his shoulder-slung backpack. After a few moments of watching the plane descend, he looks out across the crowd to gauge their reaction.

Blink raises an eyebrow at the good samaritan, and follows the path of the plane. She purses her lips thoughtfully, and then shrugs her shoulders. "Scavengers, yeah. Pretty much everyone with a pair of eyes and a gun, I imagine. You're going to need backup if you're going to get there and back in one piece … got any money?"

Trinity (lady in black) nods to Blink, "I can get some, I don't carry any on me." She pauses a moment as if in thought, "yes.. cash payment has been authorized for assistance."

** GM Nina **
The plane continues to sputter and the propeller ceases rotation.. it's deffinately going to crash. It is descending but trying to glide with what altitude and speed it has to work with.. but no way it's going to make it to an airport or beyond the Warrens border walls.

** GM Nina **
Note: Warrens - BG Count 2

Pose order to speed things up: Vlaeden, Blink, Huginn, Trinity

Vlaeden seems oblivious to the others' planning a rescue attempt but his own plans coincide none-the-less. For now though, he's still watching the plane, trying to gauge how far away and where it'll come down.

Blink nods her head, "Sounds good. We can discuss specifics after we're done. We're going to want to be quick if we're going to outrun the gangs." Privately, she's a little dubious they'll be able to beat them there anyway, but she's more than happy to give it a try.

** GM Nina **
Cassual plane crashing angles reveal the plane should crash about 1 mile South, about 10 blocks.

The vendors stay in place but the casual shoppers about half of them start rushing away, some pulling out cell phones, some heading to motorcycles or cars.. but all seem to have their own plan on how to make some quick money.

Trinity nods to Blink, "Lead the way.. I'll try and keep up."

About then as she is turning to look to where they need to run out of the Souk Marketplace she spots Vlaeden and calls over, "Yo! Want another quick job? Help us get to the plane crash quick?"

Vlaeden grimmaces only for a second before sprinting in the direction most of the vehicles are heading. He stops at Trinity's call and gives a deliberate but single nod, then continues his stride…

** GM Nina **
The plane is now out of view.. buildings blocking LOS.

Spell Name: Control Thoughts
Category: Manipulation/Control
Target Number: W(T)
Drain Code: +1S
Type: Mana
Duration: Sustained
Range: LoS(1)
-----> Spell Description <-----

This spell allows a caster to control the thoughts of a target and issue commands she is compelled to follow. If heavily against the command, a target can roll Willpower against the spell's force and either break the spell with a single success if the caster is not present or engage in a contest of wills with the caster. The caster rolls his Willpower against the target's own and cancels out successes from the target's Willpower check against spell force. One success or more is still all that's needed to break the spell.
The spell has a Threshold equal to one half the target's Willpower.

Blink's eyes narrow at Trinity, getting the impression that she knows this guy… which means that her assumption she was not casual Warrens trash was definitely on point. At the moment, she's assuming that Vlaeden is the woman's driver, so she follows him, drawing both her pistols as she does. "It won't be long before these guys figure out we're all competing for the same prize and the shooting starts." She says to Trinity, "When it does, just try to keep your head down. I'll be *pissed* if you die before I get paid."

Vlaeden waves a hand sharply sideways in the typical 'jedi' fashion as he stares at the driver. Muttering under his breath, he says simply, "…thanks cabby." and b-lines for the passenger seat.

Trinity is at a quick jog/run with Blink towards the edge of the Souk to meet up with Vlaeden, "Hold up.. can you give us a ride?" She doesn't seem to be sure that Vlaeden won't bolt off on his own with the car yet.

The tall, blonde human in the navy-blue suit stops at a vendor stall while the crashing airplane slopes in and finally makes contact with the earth. Huginn hefts lo mein toward his mouth with his chopsticks twice after the impact before he seems satisfied that a crash actually took place, then he turns away from the merchant stall to wander casually that direction. He halts momentarily to curse violently when an unexpectedly hot, steaming noodle scalds his lips.

A mischevious grin creeps across Vlaeden's face as he turns to Trinity, "I wouldn't dare leave you behind." He tilts his head towards the back seat, "Hop in." motioning to Blink, "You too I suppose." With that, he secures his place in the passenger's seat, and says to the driver with a broad smile, "Good morning!"

----------—[ Shadowrun Denver ]—-
=============================> Them (The Sticks) <=============================
GANG: Them

LEADER: The Shaman. A tall dark-skinned male, he has only been seen in an ornately carved shamanic mask that looks not unlike a bear crossed with a demon. He seems fierce and unrelenting, though no one has talked to him, at least no one who survived.

COLORS/SYMBOLS: A spear. Usually represented in warning tags as an upwards pointing arrow.

TURF: The Sticks. No headquarters has been found for this gang despite several forays into the wild.

DESCRIPTION: Them. They. The Boogeyman. There have been a number of creative names given to the gang that operates out of the Sticks. They do not hold it as turf as much as they use it as a hiding place, a living place, and a place to collect their food: you. This gang is composed of cannibals, of headhunters, of magicians and metahumans that have gone native.

Or so the rumors say.

Operating a guerrilla operation out of the bush, They are the nightmares that other gangs and residents talk about. They do not go to war with other gangs; rather, they raid turfs and tenements for whatever they can find. Who stole that kid from Apartment 159? They did. What was that sound? Them. The Sticks are often alive at night with the sound of drums and other noises, and the occasional scream. Beware.

HEADCOUNT: Probably 30. Due to their habit of working in cover of darkness and in the Sticks, no one has managed a good headcount on this group.

----------—[ Shadowrun Denver ]—-
=======================> The BlackBoot Skins (Warzone) <=======================

GANG NAME: Blackboot Skins

LEADER: Leon Metzger. "The White Lion of Purity." Leon grew up with a family deeply associated with the old white supremacist groups and was recently called to lead a new wave of violence in the heart of Denver. Secretly backed by Aryan Nations policlubs and other extremist groups, the Blackboots follow Metzger as if he were a divine prophet. He took over the Blackboots three years ago after his brother fell in a failed attack on the Sons of Sauron. He is much more patient and calculated than his brother, playing each move like a game of chess. He runs the gang in a very militeristic fashion and his leadership ability has been called frighteningly uncanny.

COLORS/SYMBOLS: Twin black lightning bolts on the back of a white fist. Or simply tagged as twin lightning bolts in white.

TURF: Their Headquarters is unknown, but they do most of their 'work' in the Warzone. It is rumored that they may migrate up from the Sticks to do battle.

DESCRIPTION: The Blackboot Skins dress as traditional skinheads in leathers with one trait in common, heavy black steeltoe boots. They are all anglo sporting the traditional shaved heads and do not mingle with other races or metahumanity in any way. They are involved in arms dealing, drugs, prostitution and hate crimes. They travel in packs of no less than five, often in refurbished trucks or motorcycles. Since they are supplied heavily from outside sources they rarely deal with other gangs. The elite guard that surround Metzger are equipped better than many runners and include several shamans that follow a strangely defined Asatru path. They are known as "The Hammer of the White Lion".

HEADCOUNT: The Blackboots have a high attrition rate among their common members who often sacrifice themselves for the cause. The elite inner circle numbers 15-20 members, the common Blackboots called 'Stompers' number 30-40 and the trainees always number in the 20's as well. They have several mechanics that work their motorpool and at times have access to Riggers. Many of the successful members of the gang are recruited out to work for more political and para military organizations.

Blink slides into the back seat and gives a sharp nod to the 'driver' … who isn't, in fact, the driver. "Alright, you'll wanna step on it." She says, "That plane is gonna hit out on the edge, I think. Nothing good out that way." She doesn't really elaborate, instead checking her ammo. She's not actually BEEN out to The Sticks yet, but she's heard enough stories to want to be sure she's ready, reiterating, "Nothing good at all."

Vlaeden chuckles lightly but in actuality a look of concern invades his features. He nods to the driver, "You heard the lady, to the Sticks!" He takes a deep breath and starts rummaging thru his backpack as if taking inventory.

Trinity piles in as Vlaeden is instructing his "friend?" to start driving and Blink jumps in with them. She pauses in the back seat after the driver starts to quickly drive Southward away from The Rens and towards the Sticks.. passing everyone that is on foot easily. Trinity looks away out the window as if in thought and then she speaks to Vlaeden and Blink, "Muse says she can offer 20,000 nuyen to each of you (she is obviously by body language not including the driver) to help me recover the smuggled cargo inside the crashed plane. Is this acceptable?"

Blink raises an eyebrow as she eyes the driver a little bit more suspiciously… but right now, they need them to keep driving, so that's a problem she can file in the 'later' bucket. "Twenty." She repeats, levelly. "Alright, that seems fair. What about the pilot and any survivors?"

** GM Nina **
The driver's eyes seem a big glazed over and he offers no chit-chat.. he seems as if he might be .. under the influence in some manner.

Vlaeden leans back to look at Trinity in his periphery, "20k… Can I let you know after we survive all this bad stuff your friend is talking about?" He wiggles his eyebrows and turns back around. He address Blink indirectly, "Vlaeden by the by. Pleasure I'm sure."

** GM Nina **
The driver keeps up a rather brisk speed, as if getting to the Sticks is like getting his injured wife to the hospital. He's passing a lot of other vehicles and even runs one motorcycle into the curb<it crashes>.

Trinity nods to Blink, "Muse says she can offer another 5,000 nuyen for the pilots body, another 5,000 nuyen if you can keep him alive and get him to safety as well. 30K for a living pilot and cargo."

** GM Nina **
Note: Vlaeden at +2 TN's due to sustaining Control Thoughts

Blink isn't going to complain about the driving; she's quietly hopeful that a few of the other pursuers will turn around when they realize what they are heading into, but best case scenario, they still need to get there as quickly as possible.

"Well. Let's not promise anything we can't deliver." She says, "But five thousand is a lot for a corpse." And after another beat, she adds, "People call me Blink." She does not elaborate on why.

Vlaeden holds silent for now, just concentrating on his own thoughts. He pulls a balaclava and pair of gloves from his pack and don's the gloves. The balaclava remains in his lap and he hooks an arm through one of the pack's straps. It appears he's ready to bail from the car at a moments notice.

Trinity grins softly as she looks between Vlaeden and the driver and then back to Vlaeden. She makes a small motion with a finger from Vlaeden's head to the driver's head and then gives Vladen a thumb's up motion as if approving of something.

Trinity offer to the conversation, "Pleased to meet you Blink." She then offers in return, "I am Trinity."

The driver is driving like a bat out of hell, but he's not horrible.. just on the edge of his skill rating.

Heading South super fast.. all on foot are long past.. most in vehicles have been passed and some have given up as they have seen the plane has <just> crashed into the Sticks.. an area they are not willing to head into.

** GM Nina **
A fireball rises into the sky to the south.

Blink nods slowly in understanding… and then sighs at the sight of the fireball in the distance. "Well, there goes at least five." She mutters, "Here's hoping everything else doesn't burn too quickly."

«Plot» Vlaeden says, "I would like to know when we get about a block from the crash please."

** GM Nina **
A go-gang on bikes can be seen as the car passes a side road.. the gang of 8 riders is coming up fast and look like they will fall in behind the car on the race to the South.

«Plot» Nina says, "I will let you know Vlaeden (thumbs up)"

Vlaeden continues in silence; watching, waiting, but still forcing a smile, albeit a nervous one.

Trinity sits back in the vehicle, deciding to put on her seatbelt.

The driver keeps ahead at a fast pace.

The 8 riders fall in behind the car but seem to have more power in their light weight bikes and they are approaching fast. They don't seem scared off by the Sticks.

«Plot» Blink says, "Is the back window big enough/positioning good enough that I can start taking aim at the lead rider?"

«Plot» Nina says, "You may, though until the window is not in the way there will be TN mods for deflection (and after it breaks: visual mods).. unless you completely knock it all out."

Blink sees the go gangers coming up on the car, and turns around in the seat, kneeling. Briefly, she considers ducking out the window, but… she doesn't want to make herself an even easier target (and she hasn't exactly got a trained stunt driver who can help keep her from getting thrown clear if things go really bad!)

Both pistols train on the lead ganger, and she grins, "Well guys, I hope you're ready for things to start getting loud. Just try and get the wimp to stay on the road… whilst we've got a road to stay on."

And she even sticks out her tongue at the gangers as she levels her guns. Yup. Things are about to get 'loud' alright.

«Plot» Vlaeden says, "How close are the gangers?"
«Plot» Nina says, "Lead ganger is a troll on a big Harley. Distance from rear window: 10 meters. Other 7 riders are faned out in a V formation."

** GM Nina **
The lead rider is an 11 foot tall Troll on a huge Harley. His helmet looks like a cyber skull has been split open and attached over a combat helmet.

** GM Nina **
The riders are all wearing dirt brown colors.

Vlaeden glances around to see what all the fuss is about, but still says nothing. As turns back around to face the front, he subtley slumps down in his seat and simply palms his face in mild despair.

Trinity views Blink pulling out the guns and taking aim and heeds her warning. She ducks down in the seat and overs her ears with her hands, "Not good.. not good," she mutters.

The driver floors it.. for the time being.. this keeps the bikers from passing.

«Plot» Blink says, "Okay. One more simple action to aim and then I'm gonna start shooting. Bang bang!"

That's the trouble with trolls - shots that would down most people, or at least give force them to falter when trying to keep a bike steady, just completely fail to register.

Blink squeezes the trigger on her guns, and both bark out a loud register of gunfire. The bullets fly true, the first hitting the troll right in the centre mass - the second, made by pure luck given the sudden jerk of the car beneath her, sparks off his helmet.

Blink's lip curls from a mocking jeer into a full on sneer, her eyes narrowing and teeth gritting together. "Alright then you big son of a bitch." She hisses, doing her level best to maintain eye contact with her target despite the jerky terrain and distance between them. "You want to play? Let's play."

Vlaeden echoes Trinity's comments, almost singing, "Not good… not good… not good." He slouches further down into his seat, only barely able to see over the dash now.

Trinity remains crouched below seat level with her hands over her ears, eyes looking around.

The lead ganger with the cyber skull helmet releases his throttle and the bike RPM's decrease.. the bike slows and the rest of the gang falls back as well. The 10 meters quickly turns to 50 meters as the go-gang falls back.

«Plot» Blink is going to lean out the window and shout at them, because she's crazy. Not sure if that requires rolls. xD

Blink's jaw actually drops when the gangers start to fall back, and she opens the window, leaning out of it. "COWARDS!" She shouts, "You call yourselves gangers?! What, did you piss yourselves and need to change your underwear?! Running back to your Mommas?! ISN'T SHE BUSY TAKING EVERY DICK IN THE WARRENS?!"

It is… fair to say that Blink has something of a mouth on her, and the volume only increases as the distance between them grows larger and larger. She wanted to get blood, apparently… or she's just a lunatic. Possibly both.

«Auto-Judge[]» Blink (#5828) rolls Intimidation:
1 3 5 5

** GM Nina **
The car continues to pull away from the gangers and the gangers seem to take up a position about 1 full block back.. following.

The driver crosses into the Sticks now.. the apprent turf markings letting people know that THEM and Blackboot Skins rule this area.

Vlaeden sits up quickly as Blink begins to shout. He jerks around to look back and relief fills his face but again stays quiet and slumps right back down in his seat.

Trinity sits up, uncovers her ears and looks out the back window and then over to Vlaeden with that unspoken look of (oh dear).

Having reached the Sticks, the driver pulls over to the side of the road.. the last of his 'instructions' having been achieved.

"Hey, HEY!" Blink grunts, pulling herself back into the car and looking to the others. "None of you guys have any grenades do you?" And then the car starts to pull in, and she, well… blinks. "What the hell?"

** GM Nina **
From the looks.. Vlaeden's ingenious hijacking of the vehicle got the trio to the Sticks before any other 'non-sticks' related clientel arrived for the party.

** GM Nina **
The go-gangers pull over as well, leaving a good gap. As they wait.. a good 30 more gangers in similar colors on bikes far back on the road begin to slowly join up with them.. growing in numbers.

Vlaeden takes a deep breath, collecting himself, calming himself. After a moment he leans over to the spaced out driver and whispers into his ear. "Go back. Show those gangers you're not to be messed wtih. Pay them back for busting your window. Ram their bikes… right in the middle of the street." With this, he pats the man on his forearm for good measure and slips out of the vehicle and for some reason, into a crouch position.

«Plot» Blink says, "Do I hear that whispering? :p"

Trinity hears the command Vlaeden speaks outloud to the driver, having already witnessed the active spell in the astral world she knows the game. She quickly unfastens her belt and gets out of the car, moving quickly to get into a doorway of a building for cover.

«OOC» Nina says, "Sorry.. whispering…"
«Auto-Judge[]» Nina (#6503) rolls 4 vs TN 4 for "Whispering":
2 3 5 5 = 2 Successes
«OOC» Nina says, "Pose stands"

«Plot» Vlaeden says, "Your call. It was a true whisper but I didn't like, cup my hand over it or anything."
«Auto-Judge[]» Blink (#5828) rolls Intelligence vs TN 4:
1 1 3 5 11 13 = 3 Successes
«OOC» Nina says, "Oh.. intelligence.. I should have roll 6 dice.. ah well.. still worked with 4."

«Plot» Blink says, "Other important point: can we see the crash site?"

** GM Nina **
The crash site can not be seen but it looks like it is 1 block SouthEast from this position… the smoke rising over the buildings give away its position.

Blink also hears the whispering and, whilst she might not fully understand exactly what's going on, she gets the idea and gets the heck out of the car too. She follows Trinity to cover, but speaks quickly. "We should get to the crash site. If that suicidal idiot is going to buy us an opening, lets make the most of it. We might be able to get the goods before the gang get there." The survivor? Not without a vehicle.

** GM Nina **
The driver does a multi-point turn in the road after the occupants depart from the vehicle and then he floors the engine and races back towards the gangers.

** GM Nina **
The Sticks: Think Mad-Max and 4 years after the zombie appocolypse. Burning barrels, a roadblock on the main road one block south that is made from piled up vehicles. Boarded up windows or fully missing windows or plastic sheeting on windows. A dead body in a doorway that the rats have picked clean.

Vlaeden stands up finally, nonchalantly and strolls over to stand beside a burn barrel. He says nothing to the vagrants milling about nearby. Holding his hands up to the fire he turns his attentions back to the car barrelling down the road towards the gangers… and waits.

Trinity nods to Blink in agreement, "I think we should hurry also." She calls over to Vlaeden, "Shall we make haste?"

The go-gangers start to break apart, riding into alley ways, some turning to race away to the north.. but none just stand there to get run over. The 1 block distance they left for a buffer saves their lives from the mad drider. But the huge pack of 38 go-gangers is no longer working as one big pack, that's for sure.

Blink is happy to break into a sprint, charging across the ground as quickly as she is able - she'd killed six ganger at once before. She was willing to chance eight. She might even have been willing to go as high as ten… but there's over thirty in this area, and they're all going to be pissed… and that's before counting whatever else is waiting in this area! She might be good, but she's not immortal! "If you fall behind, you're left behind!" She calls over her shoulder, cheerfully.

** GM Nina **
Athletic rolls if desired. Assume Trinity is falling behind in your poses. Depends on how hard core you are on getting there first and not waiting.

«Auto-Judge[]» Blink (#5828) rolls Athletics:

Vlaeden offers a golf clap as watches the car 'bust' up the gang, obviously pleased. With a bright eyed smile he looks at Trinity, "We shall!" However, he doesn't break into sprint to keep up with Blink. He speaks to himself quietly, "Blink, you take point." and chuckles at his own personal joke. Instead he moves towards the old corpse in the window and walks towards the crash site almost hugging the abandoned buildings, trying to keep the street junk between him and the street when possible.

Trinity starts running but quickly is falling behind, "She calls out to the runners, "I will meet you there."

Trinity starts to disolve quickly into whispy dust and disolves into nothingness.

** GM Nina **
In the astral world, Trinity floats up over the street to try and keep both Blink and Vlaeden in view during the route to the crash site.

It is probably just as well that Blink is ahead of Trinity and doesn't see that, or there'd be even more questions … hell, there still might be when she gets there! Her main aim, though, is to pound the street beneath her feet until she can actually get to the crash site and see what she's dealing with - there's still the chance all of this could have been for nothing.

Vlaeden moves along at a moderate pace but nothing fast enough to get his heart rate up, besides the care ride did enough of that for him. His main goal seems to be to blend in with the environment as if he was just another squatter at this point, but also to at least keep eyes on Blitz running vanguard.

** GM Nina **
Back at the car.. over the next two minutes the driver does his best to follow the commands until such time as the gangers are able to put enough bullets into his car and kill him.

You paged Vlaeden with 'You're racking up the body count. :)'.

Blink covers ground quickly, it's only a block or so away so it's seconds for this fast running lady. As she nears the crash site she starts to gather useful information.

  • It looks like the plane crashed into the top of a 4 story factory, into the roof.
  • Around the building is a gun fight between two gangs (THEM and Blackboot Skins).
  • There is gunfight sounds up inside the factory's multi-level structure.
  • Vlaeden will take a minute+ to catch up.

Trinity manifests out of view in a doorway and waits until Blink looks back towards the warehouse and then she steps out into view again, "Man.. you can run fast," she says, panting as if out of breath.

«Plot» Vlaeden says, "Can I make it to view of the fighting gangers in this pose or do I need a buffer pose?"
«Plot» Nina says, "Good idea to leave one buffer pose."

"Not as fast as you." Blink says, panting just lightly and eyeing the woman who she… didn't recall seeing overtake her. Oh well. Worry about that later. "Alright. The gangers are going to tie each other up. I suggest we try and scale up the outside to avoid it. You know the guy with the woo, does he have anything that'll help?"

Trinity nods to Blink, "Oh yeah.. he can get up to the roof easy as pie.. we're good.. you a good climber then?"

Vlaeden continues walking and a moderate pace, just taking in his surroundings. He makes a small gesture with a flick of his wrist but little else of note.

Blink shakes her head, "Not especially." She says, "I was hoping he could help me too, but if not, I'm willing to chance a fall instead of get caught between those two groups." Gravity at least kills you quickly. Them? She's heard stories.

** GM Nina **
New order: Blink, Trinity, Vlaeden

Trinity ahs softly as she leans up against the building, so as not to be out in the open as much an maybe become a target in the gang fight, "I can't get you to the roof.. but maybe Vlaeden can.. we need to ask him."

«OOC» Nina says, "I had intented to materialize in a doorway you had already passed.. so when I spoke I was from where you had came from."

Vlaeden drops into a crouch as he finally catches up to the rest of the crew. "Did I hear we're going up?" he wiggles his eyebrows. "We'll have to go one at a time unfortunately. Who first?"

Range: LoS(1)
-----> Spell Description <-----
This spell allows the target to be lifted and moved anywhere within the caster's line of sight at a rate of the caster's Magic attribute * the number of successes in meters per turn (up to a maximum equal to the spell's Force). Objects hurled cause (movement rate / 10)M stun damage, with especially sharp or dangerous items doing more damage (GMs discretion). In the event the caster attempts to lift a living being, the spell can be resisted with a Strength or Willpower test.

The TN of the Sorcery Test increases by +1 for every full 100 kilograms of mass of the object.

Finally, if the caster wishes to Levitate an object held by a living being, the holder can make a Strength Test to resist the spell. The caster needs one net success to wrest control away.

Blink gives a sharp nod to Vlaeden. "If you can give me a boost, probably best if I go." She says, "I think I'm the best suited to taking a bullet." Although she looks a little sceptically towards Trinity as she says it - hey, she's still the one cutting the paycheck. "If not, you'll have to go up first and I'll follow. We need to get in quick before the dust starts to settle."

** GM Nina **
It looks like the edge of the factory across the street (have to get across the street) in that area does not have active fighting. It's part way down the block at the factory entrance.

«OOC» Nina says, "Nice getting to the roof quick.. don't have to go through the warzone.. and they are slowing each other down fighting so we get their first.. super keen."

Trinity listens to the plan, "I'll come up last.. that works."

** GM Nina **
Trinity will be using her Ally spirit power: 3D movement. Not an actual levitate spell, that's why she can't get others up. This time staying manifested.

Vlaeden just nods and begins to move to cross the street, again using the boxes and crates and such as simple cover as he closes in to the edge of the factory. He says lowly to Blink, "Just let me know when you're ready."

Trinity, Blink and Vlaeden make it across the street. The war zone does not seemed concerned by them if they are spotted.. right now they're duck/cover and shooting each other.

Vlaeden wiggles his fingers at Blink just for dramatic effect and raises his arm towards the sky. She begins to rise, slowly at first but quickly grows into a rapid lift. He watches her carefully as she rises.

Blink rises up into the air! She will wait until she's over the roof and then try to drop down… though really, right now, this is all under Vlaeden's control; she's not exactly comfortable with that.

Trinity waits until Blink begins to rise and then she copies Vlaeden and wiggles her fingers at the ground and she starts to rise up, going up beside Blink.

Up on the roof as Blink and Trinity peak the edge and are rested down on the roof and regain normal gravity use….

Once Vlaeden is comfortable that Blink is safe and sound, he releases her. He lifts both arms in a vaguely superman pose and rises off the ground himself. Once level with the roof, he holds the spell, keeping his feet just shy of landing. "Ok, well that was easy enough." As he says this, he frowns at the large hole he's just seen.

Blink eyes the hole in the roof, and starts to make her way towards it. "Yeah, nice, nice." She says, "Gotta say, it doesn't look like there's much left with all this fire… I hope whatever we're trying to recover was stored in something tough. Like a troll."

Trinity keeps a couple paces back from Blink, letting the gunslinger take the lead. A glance back to Vlaeden and she tries to offer an encouraging smile.

Vlaeden folds his arms across his chest and hovers over the edge of the hole, keeping concious of any fire that may be nearby. He looks down to get a better assessment of what's below.

** GM Nina **
Down in the hole:

  • The fuseluge is embedded into the floor of the top floor, it did not go all the way through into the next level down. The wings of course are missing as they are still on the roof and the fuel burning is almost all used up.
  • The front where the engine is located is down below floor level probably sticking through and seen from the floor below it.
  • The planes body is about half size, pretty smashed up.

«Plot» Blink says, "How far is the drop?"
«Plot» Nina says, "4 meters"

«Plot» Blink will try to lower herself down into the hole, then. "Not… *too* far to be reasonable I think, if I understand the falling rules right. Otherwise getting out might become more tricky." :p

«Plot» Nina says, "that works"
«Plot» Blink says, "If I've worked it out right, it is an athletics test against 12 (hah!) to lower the damage level from 4S (-1/2 impact), then soaking 4S with body + combat pool?"
«Plot» Vlaeden says, "If you lower yours and drop, it should be less than 12 right?"
«Plot» Vlaeden says, "You'd be cutting two meters out of the equation, dropping from a hang."

Blink carefully lowers herself as much as she can, and then drops the rest of the way into the smouldering darkness. Mostly, she's relying on landing on those hefty boots of hers, and they don't let her down, absorbing the impact with little more than a grunt. Sure, she could have asked Vlaeden to repeat the trick but… this way, at least her fate is in her own hands!

Trinity remains at the surface while Blink is dropping down. She leans over and whispers to Vlaeden, "This lady is a reckloos.. be careful."

Vlaeden wiggles his eyebrows at Trinity again, "So I've noticed my lady. So I've noticed." he watches Blink's progress and only descends down a few more feet, just enough to see down the hallways, possible entrances if the gang war below resolves itself too quickly.

** GM Nina **
The top floor of this factory is abandoned. There are concrete pillars every 50 feet or so and abandoned machinery and equipment. It may have been a textile factory perhaps. There is no lighting. But.. there are large gaping holes along all four walls where windows used to be (all knocked out by vandals) and a good amount of light is coming through a recently created roof access portal.
There are no other people on this floor currently.
A freight elevator shaft resides on the south wall (30 meters away), a gaping hole of nothingness. OSHA would not approve.
An open handrail reveals a stairway into the level below that is beside the elevator shaft.

Below.. gunfire can be heard.. and an occassional… grenade?

Trinity waits for the way to be declared safe before attempting to descend.

Blink doesn't want to shout - that seems like a great way to alert the people throwing grenades down below - so she makes sure she's in line of sight from the hole she just dropped through, and gives a clear set of waves to beckon the others down.

After that, she starts to work her way - as quickly and quietly as she can - towards the wreckage.

Trinity wiggles her fingers again to make it look like she's using magic and then floats down gently to the floor below and takes a look around, following Blink to the wreckage.

Blink and Vlaeden note the plane is smushed like an accordian when it hit the concrete floor. The roof was a little more forgiving (barely) but the concrete floor is 12 inches thick and pretty much was like a headon collision with a semi-truck.

Blink is closest and she notes the pilot is pretty much apple sauce.. red, dripping, jello like.. apple sauce.

In the midst of the wreckage (though unable to get right now because the accordian nature of the plane is not allowing a gap large enough to pull it out)… is a military metal air/weather/water proof case. It's pretty banged up.. but it's still in tact.

** GM Nina **
The box:
http://postimg.org/image/aqsrnz9sz/

Vlaeden's lips furl and he looks away briefly in disgust. Any forced smiles are gone now, replaced by a scowl. After a moment of silence he states flatly, "Throw me the box. And can either of you carry the corpse?"

** GM Nina **
Note: It will take bending metal or cutting or welding torch to remove the box from the squished up plane body.

Blink edges closer to the wreckage, and then looks up at the hovering wizard. "Can't get to the box." She says, flatly. "I think you might have to magic it. As for the body…" She tries to get herself in closer, around to the cockpit, and look at just how banged up the body is. Specifically, whether there's enough skull left that she could just grab and take the head. "Anyone got a really big jar?"

** GM Nina **
The head is the most intact part of the body.. probably because of some obvious rigger hardware that is now exposed to the air.

Trinity moves up close to the wreckage and is careful not to cut herself on the sharp edges that abound almost everywhere, she frowns as she sees the box inside is so large and the plane so smooshed. The lady doesn't seem to have a great idea to share right now.. time for the hired help to come up with the great ideas.

Vlaeden shakes his head at the situation in general as well as to Blink, "Sorry dear, but I don't think I have the power to… 'magic' that box out if you can't pull it yourself." He locks his gaze on Trinity, "Any way for us to work together on that one?"

Trinity looks up to Vlaeden to respond, "I don't have those type of spells.. and I'm not strong enough to even think about bending the metal… if Muse was here……"

Blink tucks her guns away, and takes a firm grasp on the poor guy's skull. It takes a few long, hard yanks to finally PULL the head free from the rest of the torso, with a crunch and a crack and a wet, disgusting *SCHLRRRRP*. When it is finally done, she tucks it under one arm, grinning up at Vlaeden. "Alright. Well. That's one part done." She says, "Now for part two… can you take this for a sec?" She holds up the head to the wizard, and waves it in Trinity's direction too, really just looking for volunteers.

Vlaeden shakes his head slowly, "Sorry deary, but 5k isn't worth me holding that thing." He begins to float back up and says, "…but give me a minute on the box."

Trinity is closer to Blink and she nods, not too squeemish she accepts the detached head and holds it under her left arm as she looks around for some plastic bag or cloth from the textile factory left overs… wandering around a short distance from the crash to find something.

Trinity spends the next 3 poses looking in vain.

"Don't, call me deary." There's a bit of a sharp look from Blink to Vlaeden, before she moves to the box, and gives it a closer inspection. "You got a bright idea, magic man?" Oh yeah, because what SHE calls people is so much better.

Vlaeden begins to the dig through his pack and produces his 100ft of paracord, along with his not-so-trusty multitool. Cutting off about 20ft of cord he tosses it over the edge of the hole towards Blink, "Yes ma'am, I do. Heads up." He doesn't come back down yet though, instead he begins to tie one end of the remaining cord to a metal framed AC unit.

Trinity searches for a head bag.

"Oh hey, there we go. Good thinking, magic man." She takes the cord and begins to try and feed it through the handle of the crate, tying it as tight as she can - she'll keep her irritation about the 'Ma'am' to herself… better than Deary even if it does make her feel about sixty years old.

When finished securing the rope, Vlaeden floats back over the edge and drops the free end down saying, "Just in case." With that, he floats on down and waits for Blink.

Trinity hmms, lifts up a bit of plywood and finds nothing underneath.

** GM Nina **
Best guess.. the gun fighting is on the floor right below us now.

Blink looks at the crate, then at Vlaeden, and brushes her fingers through her hair - inadvertently smearing all manner of… skull-goo in there, which is unfortunate. "Okay." She says, "I think we better move quick. Here's hoping we can support the weight… if not, we might have to cut our losses until the fighting dies down."

Vlaeden nods, "Yeah, let's give this one good try and clear out… success or not." He starts looking for places to hide as he waits for Blink.

Trinity gives up, coming back with the dwarven pilot/rigger/smuggler's head still under her arm; unable to find anything to carry it inside or wrapped within.

Trinity puts down the rigger's head and grabs ahold of the paracord. First she finds an old piece of metal to wrap the cord around several times so she uses the metal as a handle instead of having the cord cut into her hands… she heaves.. heaves.. heaves!

Pulling the crate free from the wreckage is not an easy task. Blink takes a firm grasp with both hands, after wiping the remaining brain matter off on her jacket, and pulls with all her might. She grunts and strains, veins standing out and sweat breaking over her…

Even then, with all three pulling as hard as they are physically able, it is barely enough. The crate finally pulls free through the wreckage with a terrifyingly loud shearing noise of metal sparking and breaking against metal. when it is finally done, Blink pants for breath, leaning heavily against the crate.

"Great." She says, "Now we just, need to get back up to the roof… OFF the roof… and out through a warzone… with this… fragging… thing."

** GM Nina **
During the jerking and yanking and pulling..the plane shifts in position… the crate gets pulled free and then the plane falls down into the floor below.

CRASH!

A scream as it lands on one ganger.

Looking down the newly created hole.. the team can see six gangers and they make eye contact.. rage and murder fill their eyes and then they turn and sprint towards the stairs.

After digging into mid-air with his feet and helping heave the box loose, Vlaeden takes a moment to collect himself. His eyes widen though when the plane looses purchase and falls below. "I'll take the box! Blink, can you climb that cord?" He motions to the cord hanging down thru the hole in the roof as he makes for the box.

"Sure I can." Blink says, "But you two need to get up there first… I'll hold them off, you two get to the roof. You're probably going to need to find us another taxi driver if we're getting across The Sticks. Can't let you take a bullet."

Trinity nods to the instuctions of her hired bodyguard and wiggles the fingers on her right hand to keep up the guise of being a mage. She floats up with wiggling fingers and the other hand clutching the head to her chest.

Vlaeden floats up thru the hole with the box and immediately moves to the edge of the building, looking for a fire escape. He says nothing further at the moment.

** GM Nina **
No fire escape exits. In fact.. the stairs and/or elevator shaft do not come up to the roof. There is no ledge on the roof either or hand rail. It is as if the building was designed never to have anyone up here.

** GM Nina **
exits=exists

Blink draws both her pistols again, and takes a few deep breaths. Six people isn't going to be easy… especially after dealing with that box, but, she doesn't see too many alternatives right now.

** GM Nina **
Heavy boots can be heard coming up the metal stairs.

Trinity reaches the rooftop and sets down, peering down the hole, concern for Blinky.

Vlaeden moves back towards the hole quickly, "Come on Blink! We're clear! Make haste!" He grits his teath a sec before adding, "Unless you think you can bail thru the elevator shaft." He says this last part just loud enough for her to hear.
You paged Vlaeden with 'This is where she lives up to the reckloos reputation… and we get to keep her part of the pay. Heh'.

"Pretty sure I can't scale thirty feet before they're through, and pretty sure I can't dodge bullets whilst climbing a rope." Blink says, sounding… calm, all things considered. "If you could do that flight trick again, that might help, otherwise, I'm going to have to hope there's not more of them left."

Blink's action.

«Plot» Blink says, "If he's not coming out to engage, I'll just let V pull me out. :P"

Free RP

Blink is fairly condescending as she's pulled up through the hole, "What a bunch of pussies." She says, "You'd think they'd never seen a flying angel of death before." An unpleasant sneer but… hey, if they're not going to pose a threat to her, why waste the bullet?

** GM Nina **
Levitate Note:
Vlaeden cast a F4 Levitate on Blink. TN was 6. He got 10 11 11.
Using +spell/list levitate information…
There is enough 'lift' in Vlaeden's spell to lift Blink + about 600 Kg's more.

Vlaeden grabs the box again as he and his hot air baloon draw closer to the edge, "Hey, hold this would ya?" addressing Blitz as they stop a couple feet from the edge.

Trinity moves across the rooftop with the companions, craddling the bloody head.

Blink is happy to take the box, putting her guns away so she can hold it properly. "Okay, lets get outta here."

** GM Nina **
The box seems to weight about 100 lbs (50 KG roughly.. a little less)

Vlaeden spins Blink around backwards for a moment, "So, aren't you glad I use Dial?" and he climbs on her back, wrapping arms full over shoulds and legs around waist, "Dial?… Soap… Get it? No? Ok."

Trinity wiggles her fingers on her right hand a little bit and rises up with the flying air tangle.

There's a bit of a grunt from Blink as the mage literally wraps himself around her and her eyebrow twitches at the joke. "You know." She says, "If you weren't the best shot we have for getting out of here, I'd be reeeeally tempted to shoot you. Instead of just a little tempted."

** GM Nina **
The roof is about 100 meters long (North/South) and 50 meters wide (East/West). About 30 meters from the Southern edge is the hole where the plane crashed through.

There is a great deal of shouting from down on the top floor hole.
There is another four story building to the West and East (other abandoned factories).
To the North there is about one block of factories and then it switches to old worn out commercial buildings and barren streets.. beyond that lies Tir Lwen about a 1/4 mile distance.

The street war below seems to be over as the winning gang made it inside up to the prize destination. But who knows how long it will be before they take to the streets and look for flying people clusters to shoot at.

Vlaeden takes Blink out over the edge of the building. She may look like an angel of death but he just looks foolish, holding on for dear life! They drift east at first, maintaining altitude to clear the roof of the eastern building and hopefully obstruct sight of anyone below.

** GM Nina **
The crew head off floating/flying away from the crash site. It takes a good two minutes for the gangers to get down four flights of stairs to the street and by then the flying trio (+box) are well within Tir Lwen boundries.

Trinity flies beside the people cluster, "Muse informs me that at the Souk Marketplace a van will pull up for deliver of the box and the head when we are ready for them to arrive."

As the party makes it to the relative safety of Tir Lwen, Vlaeden picks a roof top near the border of the marketplace and comes to rest. Off of Blitz's back immediately, he straigtens his clothes out and sighs with relief upon relesing the levitation spell. "SO… that was… fun." With that he looks over at Trinity, more specifically her extra head. "You might want to try to hide that somehow before we stroll thru the market."

Blink scowls at the mage but holds her tongue, given the fact he did just bail her of a sticky situation. She looks down to make sure she is still squared away and also checks to make sure the box is still secure.

Trinity considers the options, here in a much more lived in part of the slums she moves over to snatch up some garbage sack/old t-shirt and wraps up the head. Junk left up here by some vagrant that slept up here some time this past week.

Vlaeden tilts his head in affirmation. He and Blink hurry over to the roof access ladder and make their way down. Blink a little slower on the ladder given the obstructive box, but both finally make it down and wait on Trinity to follow.

Trinity brings up the rear… behind the scenes she has been relaying information to Nina via their telepahtic link. Nina is up in the mountains an hour outside of the city working on a spell upgrade and taking times to make phone calls to the fixer that rush called her to see if she could assist in recovering the smugglers cargo, etc. Trinity has been scouting for magical talent in the Souk Marketplace when the plane was shot down by border patrol

Trinity follows along with the wrapped up head, passing info to Nina as they go and Nina calls her fixer to arrange the pickup time with the fixer's mafia goons.

As the group reaches the marketplace proper, Vlaeden relaxes finally and leans up against a nearby wall. He slips his hands in his pockets and waits quietly for the van to arrive. Blink stays close to the mage, holding the box securely, eyes moving across the crowd making sure now one gets too curious.

** GM Nina **
After about two minutes, a brown panel van pulls up across the street from the Souk marketplace.

Trinity mumbles to the group quietly, "That's the van."

Vlaeden whispers to Trinity, "Shall we get in, or do you take it from here?"

Trinity shakes her head, "No.. we can all three go.. I can't carry that much weight anyway."

Vlaeden offers a simply nod and gives Blink a nudge. The duo make their way towards the van. Vlaeden grabs the handle of the back door, *click* opens it and lets Blink crawl in with the box first. He follows suit.

** GM Nina **
Inside the van when the back door is opened are three Italian mafia hitmen type men and a dwarf rigger jacked in at the driver's seat.

The mafia types have SMG's on shoulder straps but they are not pointed at the trio as they are bringing the gear into the vehicle.

One of the mafia thugs hands Trinity a paper bag (stuffed with cash), "Good job.. we'll keep in touch."

It's obvious the trio is expected to leave the van now.

Vlaeden eyes widen as he fully realizes the situation, and without a word he steps immediately out of the van. Blink sits the box down and looks over to Trinity with a W.T.F look, but also promptly exits the van.

Trinity exits the van and butt/nudges the doors closed.

The van drives off.

Trinity holds the cash under her arm in the paper bag; better than holding the head from earlier. She motions to a more quiet area and starts walking in that direction while handing Vlaeden the bag of cash, "You two can split the cash.. should be 25,000 nuyen each in there for you." She makes sure to keep her voice down so it doesn't drift as she reveals these details.

"Ahh ok." Vlaeden says in mild bewilderment. "What now?"

Trinity offers the two of them a polite martial artist type bow, hands togther before her and then she backs away, steps into an alley and starts to disolve into nothing.

Vlaeden sighs as Trinity disappears but stuffs the envelope in his back pocket and pulls his tee shirt down over the exposed top. "Ok Blink… lets get somewhere private and divvy this out." He begins to walk away. Blink on the other hand finally speaks again, "What the hell was that!?" pointing to the lack of Trinity in the alley. "What. The…" She seems quite agitated now but eventually turns and walks off with Vlaeden.
