«Plot» Alyse says, "AQ 4. Learn formula: Increase Strength. Her job in LA succeeded, but she failed to notice someone left behind until too late."

Nina has asked Alyse to join her on an AQ at the Nursery, given Alyse the passcodes to the Nursery maglocks and asked her to meet in the Conjuring room.
Nina goes over the last of the preparations, the food, the porta-potty, drinks, beanbag chairs and has made sure she hasn't drank any water in the last six hours and is freshly bowel evacuated. She is going over final details as Alyse arrives.
Alyse arrives. Her new robes in her bag to change in to and her usual outfit worn on her. Having made her arangements (warned her roomie and fiance) for being out of body she comes to the nursery and climbs down to the 'mage room' as she refers to it, greeting the younger mage.
Nina is also dressed in her Armante Merlin Robes and looking quite the part of an ancient wizard as Alyse enters. She greets her friend and mentor and then eases down into the beanbag and gets comfortable, waiting for her friend to join her before astrally projecting and seeking out the path to the Metaplanes.
"Another trip into the unknown, hmm?" Alyse says with a smile as she moves off to change and then sits herself down. She doesn't actually -need- to be in the same room as Nina, but her logic is that should they be wounded, it's easier for them to heal the other coming out. Floating out of her body the robed astral elf looks to Nina with a nod before they make the jump and arrive at the threshold.

The path into the metaplanes is followed by the two projecting mages and together the leave the astral world behind as they slip into nothingness; the black void revealing that they have found the paths destination. A flicker of light forms that reveals a small yellow flame coming out of the end of an old man's index finger. The tiny flame reveals the face of an aged man with long grey hair and a tall pointed wizards hat. The man is dressed in robes as can be seen more readily when he uses the flame to light a candle he holds in his other hand. The outline of a large door/portal can be seen behind him on the old blackened stone wall.
The door is etched in magical runes which begin to glow soft green hues as the man offers a soft chuckle, "The two of you are either very dedicated or you're doing your best to be a significant pain in my ass."
The old man sighs as he puts the candle down on a small pedestal that was concealed behind him near the wall and then he takes an old wooden staff that was leaning on the wall and he leans on it for support as he looks to the women, "Alyse… I'm curious as to why you think you will be successful in designing a new spell? It takes great insight to do such a thing.. insight you proved you are lacking in by leaving that person behind on the job in L.A. A person… a being.. a living, breathing, talking… well; they were anyway.. before your lack of insight left them behind." He sighs with a show of diappointment, "If you are able to decipher the glyps on this door, I will give you one more change."
He then looks to Nina with his piercing blue/grey eyes, "Nina… little Nina… I have to question why you want to learn so many spells. Honestly, when you only knew Heal and stunbolt wasn't life a bit more simple? You *do* realize that as you learn more.. the Italian Mafia in Denver will be expecting you to perform more for them. Their protection of you and sponsoring your move here to Denver comes at a cost you know. They will collect.. and the price will be dear."
The old wizard shrugs then, "But.. it *is* your life I suppose. If you can decipher the runes on this door and tell me what they are for.. I too will offer you passage little one."

Nina moves up and examines the glyphs carefully, studying them; finding where they begin and how they build and form their purpose. She studies them for some time before she looks to the man and carefully offers to him, "The glyphs on this door are designed to provide magical armor."
Alyse has been a runner for a while now, perhaps hearing of such a bad outcome isn't such a suprise to Nina. Hearing Nina being connected to the mafia however is new. It's enough to make Alyse blink and shake her head. Simon had been a suprise enough in his seret coming out. Still the elf woman turns back to the man and shakes her head. "Bad things happen in this line of work." she says simply. "We left one behind who made a fatal mistake themself…and I didn't see it. I -did- however save another, holding five other spells at the time I managed to catch an ork mid-fall." A pause and a breath, she doesn't argue further as she glances to the runes. "To me it is the spell of manipulating the air."
Nina waits for the man's response to her and in this moment of respit she considers Alyse's leaving a man behind.. but her rebuttle offers some comfort to her mind. While Alyse is examining her glyphs she speaks a moment to the old wizard, "I keep a no-sum balance with the mob.. you should know that. I pay my debts as I go and they hold no command over me."
The old man laughs openly, "You have yet to realize how naive you are Nina."
Once Alyse offers the old wizard her answer he nods to the both of them, "You are both correct… not as feeble as you look."
With that… the gliphys on the door burn bright and then the door cracks open and swings wide to allow them passage.

Alyse steps into the doorway and whatever might await. One of these days perhaps a mage will discover the means to gag the deweller. But not today.
Nina walks through the open portal into the beyond, determined that one day.. she's going to learn something about the dweller and embarrase him.. yeah.. some day.

Alyse and Nina step through the portal and find themselves briefly blinded by bright light…
A soft breeze washes over the two women, a bit cold.
The sound of a sneering crowd with yells and chaos and disorder fills their ears.
The world starts to come into focus.
Alyse and Nina find themselves dressed in medieval dresses and standing on a tall stone balcony on a castle. Below them is the castle courtyard in disarray as commoners rush about with pitchforks and swords. The castle guard is trying to regain order over the crowd but is failing. They need leadership.
It becomes apparent to Alyse and Nina that » They « are the leadership.. they are the royalty in this castle and the leader of this kingdom. Nearby on the balcony are personal guards, there with long polearms and stationed in armor at the entrance to the balcony from the castle room behind the women. Nearby a schollar of sorts.. a kingdom advisor with a big hat with a large feather plume speaks urgently to Alyse and Nina, "Please.. your magesties (plural).. you must calm the people.. assure them that we will meet the enemy and defeat them and life will return to normal."
A elven royalty in a castle queling the people. Alyse will have to tell this one back to her partner when she returns. This may perhaps be the first 'other life' Nina's found herself jumped into in the metaplanes, but the blonde woman simply looks to the other woman with her best reassuring smile before she steps towards the edge of the balcony to call out…if her voice can be heard above the fray.

Nina gets her bearings slowly, shocked and a bit amazed, lucky for her she's spent some hours at the Pastville area with the castle/bar/casino and isn't completely alien to this sort of a setting. Still, the poofy dress and cleaving thrusting bodice squeezing the breath out of her is unsettling. She looks around trying to look for a threat.. an elemental.. a forest fire… a… ?
The advisor puts for her task to her and she ah's softly and turns to the crowd and holds up her arms. The guard below clash their spears on their shields to get the crowds attention and respect for Nina to speak, "Here me people of this good land. Here me for I have good news. The enemy that has beset our realm has a weakness… something we have discovered that will give our men the advantage in battle and allow us to push the enemy back from wence they came! We now shall show the enemy what fear is.. fear of our realm!"

Alyse takes her turn, "but while we struggle internally we weaken ourselves!" she calls, leaning forwards. "Brother against brother, Children against parents, if we allow or own fears, our own strife to turn inwards then we will destroy outselves… No, we must stand together united, let our fury not strike one another but the shields and skulls of those who would threaten our homes!"

The crowd listens to their Princesses and begin to calm.. by the time both have finished addressing the people the people have developed a calm reserve and confidence that together.. they shall stand against the enemy and win.

As the crowd comes under control and it looks like the realm won't collapse in chaos one woman in the crowd screams out in panic, "Here they come again!!"
The woman is pointing to the sky as two large Air Elementals come rushing around the turrets of the castle and are charging down right at Alyse and Nina on the balcony to destroy their Princesses.

The remaining evil spirit (air elemental) swooshes down at Alyse, spinning around her and trying to get the elf princess to vomit all over her pretty new dress.

The elemental attacking Alyse surrounds her in the green funk of putrid gas but Alyse too has reserves inside her that keeps her from sucking in the gasses for fresh air.. the willpower to know better and to keep her breath held and unaffected.
Holding her breath might stop her from choking for now, but the mage elf knows it's only going to hold her up for so long. Time to go on the offencive. Gathering her will she focuses her power on the spirit holding her.

Alyse's fists glow and she extends her hands, the spirit that had blown the putrid air her way exploding into nothingness as it's swept away by the force of her spell.
Princess Nina's eyes are watering in the vile green haze of elemental ass-gasses and she focuses her will upon the elemental trying to harm her.. it's got to be impressive.. she's got to show the commoners and the people of the court and those of her realm that she is powerful and can banish the enemy set upon their castle. She pulls mana from around into herself and then releases a manabolt at the air elemental, content on destroying it and setting things right in the realm.

Nina opens up her clenched fist and reveals the palm of her hand to the air elemental as the mana bursts forth and slams into it, ripping it to ethreal bits and casting it into the wind.

Now that they are in the metaplanes properly, Nina works the ethreal energies around her to bring forth her Increase Refelx spell and sustaining it into her braclet on her wrist.. combat seems to be frequent and speed can be a great edge of have on your side. She pulls the magic around her and gives herself a boot of speed and quick response and then looks over to Alyse with a smirk, "Hey.. you look sort of nice in that dress… how do I look?"

Alyse lowers her hands and grins a winning smile to her partner, crossing her arms a moment before she makes to do the same as Nina. Handy things increasing one's power. Hearing the question Alyse shrugs lightly. "It suits you," she says lightly. "But uh…let's not get too used to it."

Nina nods to her friend and mentor just as….
From around the castle spires comes a dark shadow.. an immense creature… a DRAGON!
A massive winged dragon of black. As it's shadow falls over the crowd many of them pass out in fear and terror. The dragon sweeps around with its eyes on Nina and Alyse on the balcony as it comes around to prepare an attack.
The dragon's shadow falls over the two women as it approaches them.

Nina feels the fridge cold of death of the shadow upon her.. it's not on her skin but in her soul. A flitting thought of happiness touches her mind and with it she discovers the best defense against the shadow of the dragon is to think upon a happy moment in her life. It takes a moment for life these days are filled with such grief but it is a recent recollection that offers her power; that of preparing the Nursery and their recent discovery of an Avatar… the pleasant feelings within at this cause her to gain in power and repell the strength of the dragon's cold curse.

The large black dragon banks sharply left and in its wake and unseen until this moment two smaller black dragons (children) dive in to attack at Nina and Alyse. The mother; banks back around and leaves the area; retreating behind the castle while she leaves the death of the princesses to her children.

Nina's eyes widen, "Holy Jesus!" she declares as she pulls mana into herself again and prepares to project a manabolt at the dragon that is set on a dive-bomb at herself.. she thinks better of it though and adjusts to cast a Stunball so she can encompass both the dragons in one attack. Nina knows she's amped up with speed but doesn't know for sure if Alyse can move as fast as theyse swift dragons seem to be able to move.. they are a flash of action and Nina frantically pulls the stunball to use.

Nina releases the ball of ethreal energies into the air in the middle of the diving twins and it explodes… the creatures bank sideways as their heads fall asleep and their wings go limp. They slam one after the other into the castle walls above and to the sides of where Alyse and Nina stand on the balcony and slide down and land on the balcony beside the princesses.

Free RP.. finishing them off with manabolts and such can be +rolled and posed as you wish… if you wish.. or let them sleep.
Alyse gives a little chuckle as Nina reacts so damn fast, shaking her head in amazement. She'll have to get a better handle on that spell. Her foe slain for her she closes her eyes to focus her power on speeding herself up.

Nina looks over to make sure her mentor is okay and confirms that the guards and the steward on the balcony with them is also okay. She nods to the guards with the pole arms and the two men begin the task of plunging their weapons into the small dragons to finish them off. They will look good stuffed and on display in the grand hall of the castle some day.

From inside the castle through the hanging drapes of the balcony Nina and Alyse can hear two women talking.
The women sound exactly like themselves.
Alter-Alyse offers with a mocking tone, "I could have done much better I dare say; this Princess just got lucky."
Alter-Nina scoffs, "You? My Princess just blasted two dragons.. talk about luck.. she'd never be able to do that again."
Alyse frowns and looks the the 'Real' Nina before they step closer, investigating the sound of 'themself' talking trash about the other.
Nina hmms and takes a half step forward as well as the guards have finished off the dragon children. She whispers to Alyse on the balcony, "They don't sound like they're going to attack.. but they sure are asses."
Alter-Nina laughs, "Asses? Us? Everything I do I do better than you. Which is saying something considering how much of an ass I heard Argos thinks you are now."
Alter-Alyse laughs, belly rolling hillarity laughing.
Alyse frowns and moves a little closer, trying to work out just how they're ment to face these 'bitchy' alternate versions of themselves. "Is there a point to all this?" she says rather smoothly.
Alter-Alyse calls from inside, "Come join us if you will ladies. We are rather competative and have set up a contest. If you win, you continue on. If we win.. you have to kiss our bare asses in front of the entire court while on the balcony."
Alter-Nina laughs, belly rolling hillarity laughing.

Upon entering into the chamber beyond the curtains what is revealed is a large circular chamber in the castle tower. There; inside is Alter-Alyse and Alter-Nina, identical in look though their dresses are matching black where as Nina and Alyse have dresses that are a creamy beige each.
In the room are two rather large blocks of stone/pillars meant for artists to chisel and craft from. They look very very heavy.
Alter-Alyse offers with a grin, "Our contests.. for both yourself Alyse and for Nina is as thus… You will use Leivate on your pillar and we will mark your height you can lift your pillar (# of successes), and then we will do likewise.. and of course we will beat you.. and you will kiss our asses."
Alter-Nina laughs, belly rolling hillarity laughing.

Nina concentrates on her block of marble; pulls mana in around her and pulls out all the stops. She puts all her edge into the casting of the spell and not the restisting of the spell's backlash and power.. risky. She also tosses in the power of her foci on her bracelet to offer the most UMPH into the strength of the spell as well. She manages to lift the block upward.. upward.. until it hits the ceiling and then she gently puts it down.
Alter-Nina scoffs, "Pshaw.. no problem." She moves forward and casts the same magic but only manages to bring it up to almost half the way to the ceiling.. strugggling.. then lowers it down in defeat and frustration.

Alyse has no such foci to pour into her magic. What she does have however is raw skill and power. Narrowing her eyes at the double of herself she exhales and then looks to the block of her own target. It too begins to rise, up up and up till it clunks against the roof and starts to lower again. Placed down she gestures to the block for the double to take her turn.
Alter-Alyse raises her hands and the block starts to shake, slow and heavy it starts to float, but the strain is visible as the block fails to meet that first height.

The two Alter's scoff, "Lucky.. damn lucky is all," says Alter-Nina.
Alter-Alyse sighs, "Still.. we gave our word. We now have a task for her.. if you would follow us please."
Alyse is led to the infirmary where a man is there with a terrible sickness. Alyse is told, "There.. on the workbench are the herbs and ingrediants.. prepare for him a poltace that will heal his illness and you may go on."
Nina is taken to the tower where the scribes are located and told, "Create for us a spell formula that will magically clean the latrine".
Both women are abandoned to their own devices and left to their assignment.

After succeeding in their tasks the doors of each location they are in can be heard locking shut and then the borders of those doors begin to glow blue and glyphs show up on the door; much like the door with the dweller.
Upon closer examination it appears that the glyphs are there to test the power of the mage to allow entry… channeling raw magic into the door with significant power should unlock the door for each of the ladies.

Left to this job of curing this sick man Alyse has some trouble to start with, her knowledge of herbs and such in a pure form not as good. Still in searching her memory hard enough the woman is able to mix together the right ingredients to help the man. It won't cure him instantly…at least not in the real world, but magic never does leave things certain. Hearing the door lock behind her the mage sighs and turns, her hands glowing, that white-blue glow spreading up to encompass her entire body.

Nina sits down at the scribes bench and considers her options. She doesn't have a cleanse spell learned yet but she does have a Makeover spell.. something similar perhaps? She sits down with parchment and quill and begins. It takes her considerable time.. what feels like at least two days for she falls asleep during part of it. In the end.. she's pretty sure she's got it figured out.

Nina hears the door lock and then sees the hue of blue and the glyphs form and sighs. Approaching the door carefully she examines the glyphs and understands the purpose of them. It's then that she gathers mana into her and puts her hand on the door, channeling power directly into the door.
*click* the door unlocks.
Glowing with her intense aura Alyse places her hands to the door and opens it as she would any other, the locks yielding to her magics.

Alyse and Nina pass through their doors to find themselves standing side by side.. somehow… passing through their door was as if they'd passed through the very same door at the same time together.
The room the two princesses are now standing in is a library in the castle tower. High in one of the spires the walls are lined with books and there is a long table in the center of the room with many candles burning bright upon it. A spiral staircase leads upward and one leads downward. Narrow slit windows offer a view of the lush kingdom below and the courtyard of commoners cleaning up after the battle. The sound of water and waves slamming against the cliffs below the castle fill the air with a soft reoccuring cadence.
On the table are two books.

Alyse murmers something about 'Princess' and not being able to go near Naomi for a while as she climbs the staircase and is reunited with Nina at the start. Left at the top tower to stare out over the kingdom she does admit it's rather beautiful, but her eyes come back to the table and the books in which Alyse picks up the one labled with the information she sought.
Nina takes in her surroundings and then picks up the book with the knowledge she has fought all this way to acquire, "It's a damn shame.. I might wish to stay in this realm longer and…"
Bamf! The women are ejected and find themselves back in their meat bodies in the Conjuring room.
Nina sighs heavily, "Damn that frack'n dweller!"
Alyse sits up and laughs, shaking her head as she tries to get her bearings for time. "It does that," Alyse says quietly and stretches out, bringing feeling back into her sleepy muscles.

Nina rolls out of the beanbag with an aching groan onto her hands and knees and then gets up slowly, "I wish we could return to that place.. a castle.. being a princess.. damn.. even with the dragons it was amazing."
"Not if we turned out like those doubles," Alyse says as she starts towards the bathroom, headed for there first as food can come later. When she returns she chuckles and looks at the time and date on her phone. "I best be returning, we seem to have a talent for taking a while."
Nina has used the bucket/toilet before Alyse returns and is eating a yogurt from the mini-fridge on Alyse's return, "No kidding… let's do this again soon.. when you can get away gain."
