All in All

Title: All in All..
DM: Indrakashi
Players: Deborah. Teutonic. Mud. Feather.

The shadows always flit with messages, this one though, it comes from Mr. Smalls, asking for people to meet him at one of his several used car lots. <They're all in C Zones>. The message doesn't say much, but the manicured troll in a suit is waiting in the Loans Office, smoking a pipe as he waits.
Teutonic drives into the lot in his Ford Americar and parks it before Slipping out and shutting the door. After locking it he heads towards the loan office and heads inside To meet Mr. Smalls. There's a nod, "Evening. Teutonic." He doesn't sit down, he hasn't been invited to yet, more corporate mannerism from the corporate runner.
Mud rambles into the lot, on foot, followed by about three neighborhood dogs, as he shuffles along. He tells them to scat, "Go find bitches, you dumb mutts! I got work ta do, can't hang out witchoo all day." He rolls in, baseball bat over one shoulder, Mossberg holstered in his jacket. He wanders up and sees Teutonic and gives him a nod. "What's up, smallworld?" he says to him by way of greeting.
Mr. Smalls isn't a gruff man, he opens a small box of cigars so those gathered can take them and settles into work mode. His accent is thick, possibly worse due to tusks.

"One of my associates ran into a complication when delivering me things I require. Foolish man got pinched for going a few over the limit, in an unregistered vehicle."

He says, sounding amused, but some thing tells those here..if he gets ahold of the associate, he'll bash his face in.

"Now I have a spare set of keys, but it is in a local impound lot, and I need several things removed from it before any cops begin to thoroughly search the trailer."

Teutonic nods and moves to sit, ignoring the cigars. "Makes sense. Wouldn't want them to find anything undesirable. So, where are the items located? Which impound lot are we talking about?" He leans back and crosses a leg, hands moving to rest idly on his knee.
Mud says "Which impound lot, and what do we know about them?" He grabs a cigar and pulls out a tar stained lighter to flick the cigar into life, after biting off the end and spitting it out. "I mean, those places are… tough to get into for a reason…"
Mr. Smalls has a small tablet computer he uses to show them where it is, really, pretty local. A few miles from here still in the C Zones.

"Hidden under the floor boards of the trailer, is several cases of transponder chips and morphic plates. I need those returned here with out the police finding out about them. They truly loathe people having freedom."

he comments with a slight grin to his own amusing statement.

Teutonic turns to Mud and nods, "Feeling better? Getting in is half the fun for the record." He turns back and nods, "Right, floor boards. Cases. Check." He pulls out a phone and makes a call though real quick, maybe for info and maybe for something else.
Every runner has priorities: little or big things that make them tick. Some of these are nearly universal practices, and others are highly individual, quirks that most runners don't get. And Feather? She honors her debts, even when people don't realize she owes them. She got the page from Teutonic early evening, asking for a bit of backup, and after a few minutes of hurried prep, she found herself headed to the meet on her Suzuki motorcycle. She remembered how the human man ate a near-fatal spray of shot for the team on a previous job, one that could have just as easily struck her, and now was her chance to pay it forward with her assistance.
Her helmet stays on, on her way in. Habit of hers. And she's carrying her usual best friend: a little black box slung on her back, roughly 4' by 1'. Maybe she plays an instrument? She finds an empty spot and stands there, her only greetings a nod of acknowledgment at Mr. Sleazebag Johnson and the rest of the crew gathered here.
Mud says "How big, exactly are these cases? Can one person carry them or is this an all hands on deck situation?" He puffs on the cigar, gives Mr. Smalls an appriciative nod. He coughs. Rookie. "Aclhh hrch chk… What's the paycheck for this… " He clears his throat, starts to spit, realizes he's got nowhere to spit on that isn't the Troll's and swallows it with a grimace. "moderately risky operation?"
The whine of a rice burner… whines as a racing bike speeds by… then slows, turns around, and comes back. Auto-nav, whyfore doth thou forsake runners on a timetable? Invariably. She turns the engine off, slipping off the motorcycle to head on over and hear what's what, keeping her helmet on, but allowing the faceplate to go transparent, at least, nodding here and there. To signify she's totally listening.
Mr. Smalls rubs his chin slowly, so many questions being asked concerning this.

"I am offering thirty thousand each, a very reasonable compensation."

Mr. Smalls does routinely deal with cars worth multi million nuyen after all.

"I suggest..you bring a car to move the cases. They do not weigh much, but they are rather cumbersome."
"Does anyone have a vehicle of that size available?" Feather asks. Now that she speaks, the thick accent paints her as a Chinese transplant. It's hard to place it more specifically if one hasn't spent time in that part of the world.
Teutonic nods, "I do. It even has a little storage space In it. So it will be perfect. I got the car covered." He nods at Mr. Smalls, "Drop off location?"
Mr. Smalls taps his desk as he speaks.

"I want you to bring the cases back here."
Deborah tilts her head to the side a bit. "I can only presume, being in a C-Zone, the Impound lot is relying on contracted security. What do we know about it?"

Feather waits for a moment of silence before adding another query. "How important is subtlety on this job? Are there constraints on the bodycount?"
Mr. Smalls grunts a bit at both questions, of course he should be aware of pyschotic runners, right? At least it isn't Katral.

"I care little how you acquire what belongs to me, as long as you do. These are not police, they are likely subcontracted by some traffic authority or another. The concern is if they discover -what- my friend had, that they will immediately transfer the vehicle to KE or LS."
Feather's head slowly pans in the direction of Teutonic. Her mask is tinted, so one can't really see her speak. Her voice, partially-muffled, just filters through the helmet, though she projects strongly enough that it's not an issue hearing her. "Unless somebody else is ready to volunteer their skills, you seem like our tech specialist. Can you find out which contractor is supplying their security and what their approximate capabilities are? We can augment that with on-site reconnaissance, but having an advance idea will be helpful."
Mud says "Sounds like we're all in for this. We should probably do our planning outside this office, cause… plausible deniability, amiright?"
"On-site, I'll be able to handle some of the security, but only if it's the sort they think to program into chips," offers Deborah. "Nothing in a C-zone should stand up to it, but you never know if they decided to splurge on that one lock, neh?"

You paged Teutonic with 'you dig for a while and find out the security is sub contracted through 'Denver Transportation Security Associates'. Real small time stuff, some hired guards past their prime, and a few maintence drones.'.
Teutonic nods at Feather, "That's my job, don't mind doing it." He stands up and nods at Smalls, "Be back in a couple hours with your cases, sir." He steps outside and pulls his deck around jacking into the local LTG to run a quick search on the security firm before coming back and speaking, "Small time. Subcontracted through Denver Transportation Security Associates. Just a couple hired guards and some maintenance drones. The guards are older, probably just there to put a face on the place."
Feather nods in acknowledgment to Teutonic, following him outside to keep an eye out while he jacks in to the trix. Once he's done, she flicks her head over to where the vehicles are parked. "We should head over to the target area. If we stop a few blocks out, we can take our time to get an idea of the layout."

Deborah glances over, before nodding in agreement. "I'll do some recon of the surounding area. Say… three blocks out? Get a feel for what's what." She heads over to her bike, stradling it while waiting for feedback and adjustments to her plan. "Everyone got comms? How many encryption keys are we running?"

You paged Deborah with 'You can see -four- guards total, one nodding off in the security office by the road side entrance! The others are just checking the fence, or goofing off by a soda machine. The two drones are repair models, doing basic maintence on cars so they don't rust away, and look to have stun guns on one shoulder. There's also the fact your vehicle of choice? The one you need to steal stuff out the back of? parked in the middle!'.

Mud zones out assensing the astral plane, apparently stopping paying any attention to the planning or execution. He looks around the astral plane for watchdogs or the like in the yard.
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "No astral concerns Mud"
Some basic communication protocols got established before the party splits from the meet point. Deborah handed out comms, and the team agreed on frequencies and encryption keys to use. And then they were off. Feather peels out ahead of the others; she has her own plans. They have one tactical advantage she's going to exploit: the target area is open air.

As she arrive, she scopes the place out a bit. She doesn't quite trust this area, but she needs her vehicle on-hand, in case the need for a quick exit comes up. And so she finds an out of the way spot for her bike, away from prying eyes and vehicle traffic, and engages its cloaking tech. And then she slides on her gecko gloves, straps on her case, and takes a walk. It's not long before she finds a suitable vantage point. She engages her cloaking tech, and then, with a running start that gets her a few meters up a wall in an alleyway, she slowly starts to scale the building. Once she's on top, she reports her results, subvocalizing them over comms.

"I am overlooking the target area. I see four guards. They don't appear to be pretty vigilant. One may be sleeping. The target vehicle is in the center of the lot."
«Plot-Page» (To: Indrakshi) Deborah says, "Did I spot other security concerns within that 3 block radius?"
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "Deborah; Nothing, C Security Zone. Cops barely patrol. Most of this area is run down, or just industrialized junk."
Over the comms SO NICELY PROVIDED BY DEBORAH, a voice! «Confirm four guards and vehicle location. No concerns for at least three blocks. Heading back.» WHINE goes the bike, as she zips off to meet the rest of the group.
«Plot» Feather says, "I have a rangefinder. What's the range from my position to where the guards are?"
«Plot» Feather says, "Feather is just wondering if she's in firing range."
«Plot» Feather says, "My char does jerky things like use a rangefinder to find range, as opposed for solely TN bonuses. :P"
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "I don't know, 3 blocks give or take half a block for where they walk?"
«Plot» Feather says, "Single city blocks tend to range from 100m-ish (small squarish) to 250m-ish (the long side of a rectangular block)."
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "We'll say 400m!"
Feather pauses as she considers the situation. "I have a potential plan. A two person team might be enough to infiltrate the lot and subdue our enemies quietly. I have ruthenium cloaking. Mud can provide Ivy with invisibility. That should give us the element of surprise. Once the area is clear, Teutonic can move in to help us get into the target vehicle, while Mud moves our vehicle close for our getaway. Any thoughts?"
«Plot» Feather says, "What's the general layout? Just a square lot surrounded by a chain link fence with a bunch of vehicles in it? Any buildings aside from the guard post with the sleeping guard?"

Teutonic listens on the comms and then nods from his car, «That sounds fine. I'm trained in close combat and stealth techniques if it helps.» He leans back, «But ready whenever you are, that plan suits me. Don't forget about the drones. I could attempt to jack into their local PLTG and disable them.»
«Plot» Indrakshi says, "Nope. It's just a very basic impound lot."
Mud only chimes in, "I shouldn't be the getaway driver… I crash sometimes… Maybe I go around to the other side from the infiltration team and start beating on the fence with my bat? Then I'm there on the ground for healing and continued invisibility support…."
"Do you have a jackpoint to use? If you can disable the drones, we won't have to worry about their sensors detecting us. We could time our assault to coincide with the drones going down." Feather pauses. "The fewer visible faces we present to our enemies, Mud, the less likely we are to rouse their suspicion. You don't need to be our getaway driver. You just need to get the vehicle into position for our escape. Then you can join us."

«Just spotted the drones on my second pass. They look more like repair pieces than anything heavy, aside from that stun attatchment.» A pauce. «Disabling them would be best, whichever the case. I've got four mags of gel rounds for my machine pistols, ifit comes down to needing them. Hopefully we can get through it without too much noise.»
"Are your machine pistols suppressed?" Feather asks briefly.

«As suppressed as you can get burst-fire, at any rate.»
"Understood. My takedown methods are relatively silent. Perhaps you should let me perform the first strike, and if I fail to bring anyone down, you can finish them with your firepower." She takes one more hard look at the target area. "Meet me a half-block west from the target point. We should be prepared to move when Teutonic is finished with his task."

Teutonic jerks a bit, the indication that he's coming back from the matrix and then pulls the jack out of his deck, «Drones are in sleep mode. We're clear. They'll never know I was there.» He steps out of the car and smooths out his jacket as he waits for the order to head in.
Debs comes over the comms. «Someone see about drawing attention from the guard shack. Invisibility won't mean a thing if they see the door open.»
Feather reaches a hand behind herself, a bit of an audible click heard. A panel slides away on her weapon case, and a bow slides out and into her waiting hand. She takes a moment to adjust the sight before reaching one hand to squeeze a button on her left sleeve. And then she vanishes, first her body, then her helmet, then her case, then her bow. She seems to make fairly extensive use of ruthenium. "Are you ready to move in?" Feather asks Ivy. "We should take down the guard at the guardpost first, since he's asleep. He's our biggest threat, since any means of outside communication are likely in there. Then we can position ourselves to take down the rest."
Mud finally pulls the car into position, near the front gates, not too far from the entrance and keeps the motor running. He hops out of the car to provide a stunbolt or a heal, but stays near the vehicle, to make sure some lucky street person doesn't jack their ride.

Deborah and Feather quietly approach the open air guard shack. Deborah is flat against the guard shock, and Feather quietly enters inside it. Feather pokes her head around to look for other guards watching, but she sees none. She waits for the all-clear from Deborah, not wishing to even subvocalize so close to the enemy. Once she gets it, she draws an arrow while crouching out of sight and aims it at the guard's head.

«Plot» Feather says, "Any stragglers?"
«Plot» Feather says, "Like how close are the guards together?"
«Go,» subvocs the Debs, after glancing to see that folks aren't looking. Trusting that all is well with that, she pushes off the wall and moves over towards the rig, quiet as an 11 on the stealth roll can be. Yeah, she broke the 4th wall, big whoop, wanna fight about it? «May not need this spell after all, Mud. Teutonic hears the noise over the comms and chuckles to himself, «I got it. I'll be the diversion for the other guards.» He walks forward as the car pulls into position and then turs to head past the sleeping guard as Feather takes him out. He's just a man in a black suit with a mission, but they don't know that. The other guard shouldn't have made too much noise and he's good at being quiet. So he simply moves towards the two guards drinking coffee. «I got the two drinking coffee. Don't leave poor decker hanging.»
Once there he smiles from behind the two guards before putting his kung fu knowledge into use and round house kicking them both.
Mud unlimbers the bat and heads to the front gate. He begins to slam on it, "WHAM WHAM WHAM!" yelling about, "You got my car!" "Fuckin' degenerate thieves, Gimmiey car!" WHAM WHAM WHAM! Metal on metal to draw anyone still awakes attention.
Mud? Mud definitely now has given people a reason to pay attention, the guard who walked past Feather is the first to arrive, followed by the other two. They have batons and light pistols. The two siping coffee are still doing just that, there might be whiskey involved. Mud's distraction? Boy does it work.

"Look here, if you want to reclaim lost property sir, you need to file for it with Knight-Errant, and return during the day."

The only useful guard says, he sounds very polite, almost grandfatherly.
<Headed your way now. Drop the one with the thermos, I'll take the other one.» With that, Deborah pushes off of the truck, mentally switching her activesofts around a little while she moves over to assist the Decker's effforts.

Feather's arrow flies true, and right in front of Mud's eyes, a hammerhead arrow slams into the guard, knocking him out cold. She looks around as Ivy and Teutonic succeed in bringing down their own two guards. "Excellent work. Be on your guard, though. The job isn't over yet. Our first step is to get these bodies out of sight. Everyone grab one and follow me. We'll hide them underneath some cars. They'll come to before anything untoward happens to them. Remember, this is a secure site. I'll watch for motion sensors. Keep your eye out for anything that might alert our enemies."
All three guards go down -hard- as runners appear from no where, they didn't even get a chance to yell for help, or hit their panic buttons! With the drones down? It's rather quiet. Fortunately..so far, no one seems interested in killings for the amusement thereof?
Mud drops the invisility spell he was sustaining, the need for it gone, and let's the drain on his focus fade away. He stops banging on the gate and returns to the car and gets into it, pulling it up to the gate.
Debs runs up, her skillsofts switched for combat-fu, and just… slams an elbow into the back of one of the thermos guard's head. The one that she told Teutronic not to focus on for the very reason that she'd be there, anyway. Obvious guards down, she spins, dropping to a knee and drawing her machine pistols. Waiting. «That… seemed easier than expected.». She looks around. Waiting for the drek to hit the fan. After a few seconds of looking ridiculous, she re-holsters her pistols, mentally clicking her activesofts over to get ready for the locks and stuff.
Teutonic nods at the dropped guards, «I told you it was small time. These guys are just here for the paycheck and this impound lot is just a staging area for Lonestar to come in and transport them to the real impound. They're not too worried about it.» He nods and heads out to go find the car, «So where was this thing again so I can get into it? Mud, get that car yah?» For now, Teutonic knows his job is to find the car and get its door jacked, «Also, thanks for the help.»

«Plot» Indrakshi says, "Teut; you find it. It's under a dummy board that would normally be a spare tire! You lift it aside and there is a number pad and a key hole!"
Keys. Keys are a thing. Sighing, Debs switches the softs back over to combat-mode and goes to stand overwatch, moving to the shack to see how ironic she can be without letting herself get as distracted as the previous guards.
Mud pulls the car around to the lot, close enough to the van to make for easy loading. He kills the lights on Teut's car, but keeps the engine running. He looks around to make sure that no one has spotted them yet.
Teutonic watches feather get shocked, whether or not he feels it. «You know, I think that's why we elected me to do this job.» There's a chuckle over the comms before he checks out the back door for a second and then opens it sans traps. Checking out the inside, he pulls up a floor board where a spare tire should be to find a safe like object with a number pad and key hole. «Right, So we got two options here. Either that smartass expected us to pull a safe out of this damn car or I attempt to hack this safe.»
"If it is concealed and locked, there may be security measures to ward against wholesale removal. Hmmm. Do what you can to open it. We'll stand watch." Feather quietly runs up the side of the van, standing atop it. She's not worried this time. Traceless walk. She doesn't trigger contact-based traps. Here, concealed by her ruth, with an elevated vantage point, she keeps watch.
Teutonic remembers a detail but he doesn't tell the others this, he fishes into his pocket for said key and then unlocks it, «Pull the car around. The safe is open.» He is a wizard, nobody need know the truth.
"The car is already ready. I don't want to risk any alerts by trying to bring a strange vehicle into the lot. Lets carry this stuff out, and then beat feet."
Feather says over comms.
Mud finishes getting the car into position, and searches around for the trunk release, and finds it. He manuevers the car into position so Teutonic will only have to slide in and he scoot over to complete their getaway plan. The motor is running and he says over comms. "In position, ready for loading…"
And when Teutonic opens the safe? The light on the maglock goes from green to a flashing angry red. Along with a burst of compressed air, and a white powder settles around him. <You didn't spot the trap!>. He just got coated with -Cyanide-. <7D Soak!>

Feather is waiting outside when something catches her attention … something is wrong. She can sense the fluctuations in mana as Teutonic collapses to the floor, and she reacts with lightning speed, hopping off the top of the van, popping her mini-respirator in, and rushing into it. She's prepared for things like. She slaps an antidote patch onto him before dragging him out of the van, though she catches a bit of exposure herself.
Feather, realizing she may have breathed in a tiny amount of powder, applies a patch to herself too.
«Auto-Judge[]» Feather (#12973) rolls Body + Combat Pool: 6 vs TN 2:
1 1 1 2 3 4 4 5 11 11 = 7 Successes
«Plot» Feather says, "She had full-body covering and a minirespirator in, taking only inhalation vector, reduced from 6D to 4S by respirator. Base 2S with antidote patch, staged down to nothing."
Teutonic is suddenly sprayed by a blast of Cyanide. «Motherfuck…» And then he goes quiet as he all but bangs his head on the van and hits the ground. Every fucking time with these jobs. Well, the safe is open at least, but now their driver is having a coughing fit on the ground because he just got blasted with cyanide and it's trying to eat his body.
«Did not copy, what was that?m» radio's the Debs, trying to sort out what's what, since she's all the way over by the gate/shack near the car.

Mud hears the trouble on the comms and hops out of the car again, taking the Keys out, and making his way to the trailer. He spots Teutonic fallen there and invokes his spirit totem, a dog in the distance howling as his features grow a bit more canine as he banishes some of the damage done by the poisons.
Hopefully the others understand how to put boxes in a car, along with helping Teutonic sit in the back where if they did get stopped, he might pass off as a drunk friend. Mr. Smalls? Well, he isn't even there when they show up, just two of his silent associates..who transfer the boxes from one ride to another. Then they exchange nuyen and disappear in their SUV.
On the way out, once the get-away car is long-clear, Deborah pokes the PANIC Button before zooming away on her bike. No need to have the guards get killed by gangers or some such.
