«OOC» Dalton says, "Rules: Please use PR1 for all ooc chatter, and please give consent. This run should be easier than a cakewalk if done right, stupidity can have consequences."
«Plot» Aeden consents!
You are contacted by whatever people usually slide work your way. This is a simple job, something that normally is beneath most runners, but the people behind this want professionals on the job, and this will be one of many jobs, so good work will be rewarded with more work. The meeting is for noon on the rooftop of the Ragdoll. Look for the dwarf named Ramone.
Aeden gets the call while out driving… as usual, and gets to the area about 30 minutes early. He keeps an eye on the skies for a bit via his RC Deck. He heads up to the meeting about 5 minutes early, keeping a small sensor readout from his Roadmaster in the bottom corner of his vision. He heads up weaponless but armored.
The rooftop is empty save for a single dwarf sitting at a table. In his hand is a drink of some kind, the amber liquid and ice swirling around as he plays with the glass. When you come to the roof, he looks over at you, then gestures towards an empty chair at his table.
Aeden nods to the other dwarf and waddles on over to the table with the normal dwarven pace. "Hey," he offers once he's climbed up into the seat. "Hear y' got some work t'do… maybe get some more down th' line, at that?"
The dwarf nods, setting down his drink "Ya, thats the idea. Little bits of work, but often and steady, give yourself a real nice income without all the risks of a high paying job. Its simple, go find a toyota elite, and deliver it to 1259 S. Parkway. Someone will meet you and tell you that you got a 'sweet ride'. That said, you give him the keys, and he gives you a credstick. Walk away, and wait for the next call."
Aeden grins and leans back in the seat a little, crossing his arms. "Y'got a preference on color?" he asks with a bit of a chuckle.
The dwarf shakes his head "Nah, just try to get one without any dents. You get 7.5k for the car. We got a deal?"
«Auto-Judge[]» Aeden (#5230) rolls Gear Value for "Does Aeden know what the player knows about the cost of the vehicle?":
1 1 4 5 10
Aeden frowns a bit. "Uh… point of interest?" he interjects, "Yer tellin' me that yer wantin' t' pay me less than ten-kay… fer an Elite?" He shakes his head. "Not that I'm all math-y, but… I'm thinkin' that's somewhere under ten percent. I could make more fencin' it my own self."
The dwarf chuckles "Yea, but then you get all the heat? This way, you get the money, and your hands stay clean. We got an organization setup already, we clean the cars, we ship them off, we sell them. I may be able to bring it up to ten, but you gotta realize, a car like that doesn't sell used for near what its worth new."
Aeden considers this for a few moments. "Bring it up t' ten, an' I'll be sure t' top off th' tank 'fore I bring it to ya, too. An' keep th' dents offa it."
The dwarf nods "Done then, get out there and get me an elite. Your delivery boy will be around every day from eight to midnight at the drop location."
Aeden nods as well, and slides out of the chair before waddling off back to his Roadmaster. And then he's off to roam the roads, actively scanning for a Toyota Elite. Maybe something Pink, if it's availible. If not, silver will work.
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Low Security Rating, Chances are Lower to find a Toyota Elite in good Condition. Hour 1 of searching. On a roll of 1 you find an elite, anything else, no luck.":
5
Time passes, you drive and find no Toyota Elites that are in good condition in the area your looking.
Aeden drives around for an annoying amount of time, checking in on his retinal clock every now and again. After about an hour, he sets an alarm to go off in two more. If he hasn't found any prospects before it goes off, he'll go in search in a more dangerous area.
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Low Security Rating, Chances are Lower to find a Toyota Elite in good Condition. Hour 1 of searching. On a roll of 1 you find an elite, anything else, no luck. Hour 2":
4
Another hour passes, and still no luck, its about 3PM now.
Aeden drums a little on the steering wheel every now and again while he drives around. He's tempted to check the time every now and then, but… the alarm hasn't gone off, so he keeps on keepin' on.
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Low Security Rating, Chances are Lower to find a Toyota Elite in good Condition. Hour 1 of searching. On a roll of 1 you find an elite, anything else, no luck. Hour 3.":
5
Still nothing, three hours of searching, and not a single nice looking toyota elite anywhere to be found.
At the end of hour 3, Aeden's alarm goes off, and he grumbles. "Fine, fine, fine… time t' lookit where there's better response time…" he mutters, and then heads off to a place where lonestar actually pays attention to alarms.
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Alright, searching in a Medium Security Area for a Toyota Elite in good condition. On a roll of 1 or 2 you find a good Elite. Hour 4":

«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Alright, Randomness: 1-2 Owner is under 5 minutes from returning to the car, 3-4 Owner is 30 minutes from returning to car, 5+ Car is in motion and driving.":
11
You got one, a Toyota Elite heading north on Warberry street. It will be easy enough for you to tail it for a while and see where it goes.
When Aeden spots the car, he goes through the simple process of jumping into the Roadmaster. All the better to react quickly and with luck, sneakily. He falls back about a block and a half from the car and follows it, his sensors easily covering the distance between the vehicles, and then some.
«Auto-Judge[]» Aeden (#5230) rolls Stealth + Karma Pool: 1 for "Sneaky Driving!":

«Plot» Aeden says, "kp 1/10"
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 3 vs TN 12 for "Off chance the guy notices he has a tail, TN 12":
3 3 11 = 0 Successes
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Random Die of chance, lets see what the driver does now. On a 1 or 2, he goes shopping, 3 or 4 he is meeting a girl, 5+ He keeps Driving.":
8
The driver continues to head further north, towards the FTZ it looks like, in a little while, your going to be in a high security area.
Aeden's attention is drawn to the level of security going up a bit around him. The closer he gets to higher security, the more he tries to find another car… preferably heading in the other direction. Especially if the car doesn't stop in the next couple of minutes.
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Ok, still med security zone, but heading towards high, 1-3 you find a new Elite.":
4
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Random Die of chance, lets see what the driver does now. On a 1 or 2, he goes shopping, 3 or 4 he is meeting a girl, 5+ He keeps Driving.":
7
And of course, he heads farther north, now passing into a high security area. Of course, now you see more potential targets, but its just harder to get them now.
And just like that, once the dwarf hits the high security area, he goes about turning around to head back away from all the security. Which isn't a bootlegger turn… more of a head up a block, turn right, go two blocks, turn right, back a block, left a block, and right a block.
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Looking again for a Elite. 1-3 You find one. This is hour 5":
4
You spend another hour looking around, and not much luck, its now about 6pm.
Aeden's getting annoyed, but it doesn't matter. He's not going into a high security zone on a solo-run to get a car. Period. Now more looking heading back towards the low zone.
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "1-3 You find one, Med security area at the moment. Hour 6":
2
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Whats the car doing? 1-2 Parked quick, 3-4 Parked Long, 5+ Driving":
7
Well, that one looks good. You spot another elite, this one in good condition, and driving south this time, not headed towards the good neighborhoods.
Aeden starts following this one, hanging back two blocks this go-round, as he thinks he might have tipped the previous car off. He keeps an eye out for alternative cars already parked, though.
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Ok, this is for a parked elite, 1-2 you find one parked.":
1
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "How long, 1-2 short, 3-4 long, 5-6 someones at a house.":
1
You spot another elite, this one parked at a stuffer shack. Could be your chance, but your in a medium-low security zone, so there are cameras around. And the owner might not be inside that long.
«Game» Backup to offline storage commencing. Game may freeze for a bit…
Aeden shakes his head and goes past the stuffer shack. A bar, maybe, but not the stuffer shack. He keeps on following the one on the move.
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "What does this car do. 1-2 PArk short, 3-4 Park Long, 5+ Keeps driving":
1
The Elite pulls into a resteruant, looks like mexican food, authentic according to the sign outside. The car pulls to a stop, and a man and woman get out, and start heading into the resteraunt.
Aeden parks the Roadmaster outside and strolls in, scoping the place out to see if the couple is just there to pick something up or if they're there to eat. "Y' got a menu? Might end up orderin' some takeout if y' got it sometime. Got work inna area, an' all that," he says to whoever looks like they work at the place.
One of the servers looks down at you and smiles "Of course, here we are, there is a fifteen minute wait right now though." she reaches for a menu and hands it to Aeden. The couple is standing off to the side, talking to each other as they wait to be seated.
Aeden nods to the woman. "Thanks muchly, miss," he says, taking the menu before heading out again. He gets back into the Roadmaster and drives about a block away before getting out and walking back, taking care to avoid any visible cameras outside of the resterant. Then the Roadmaster is tasked to drive around the block, keeping it's sensors on the parking lot so Aeden might know when anyone would be sneaking up on him as he works on getting the car.
«Auto-Judge[]» Aeden (#5230) rolls Stealth for "Sneak past the cameras!":
3 22
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 3 vs TN 22 for "Cameras trying to catch Aeden the ninja.":
1 1 3 = 0 Successes
Well, the cameras in the area are obviously not well maintained, cause none of them notice Aeden as he moves up to the Elite. Heck, someone manages to walk right by the dwarf, but is so engrossed in his pocsec thats jacked into his shades he doesn't even spot the little dwarf.
Aeden is one sneaky dwarf, apparently. Maybe it's just how short he is, and how people can't see him when he's between vehicles. Or something. Once he's by the vehicle, he looks around before slipping out his microtronics kit. Then it's a few more seconds before he picks the right tool from the kit and his eyes are zooming into the lock to do some detail work.

«Plot» Dalton says, "30 Seconds for the cover, 12 for the guts, and 30 to replace the cover."
You tinker, you wire, you crosscheck, and eventually the door clicks open. So far so good, a quick look around tells you no one has noticed you.
In less than 75 seconds, Aeden has the door unlocked. He hasn't opened the door just yet and takes a quick peak around. Once he's sure that there's no one watching, he opens the door just wide enough to slip in, and clambers up onto the seat. The door slams shut, and he polarizes the windows quickly. "Alright… where'd they hide your kill switch?" he asks the car, looking around in the usual spots for the termination chip.
«Auto-Judge[]» Aeden (#5230) rolls Car B/R vs TN 5 for "Find the kill switch!":
4 4 10 = 1 Success
"There ya are," he mutters after searching for a bit. He pulls it out of the car and opens the door again, just enough to drop the chip outside. "Now lets get you movin' an' to th' pickup spot. Might even be done inna night!"
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Dice of mystery, if this is a 1, something bad happens":

As you start the car, you check the intstruments, and, well, wouldnt you know, the thing is sitting on empty.
Aeden frowns when he notices the fuel levels, and jumps over to the Road Master long enough to see if it's got any gas stations in sensor range. Once that's complete, he rolls out, having the transport's drone pilot follow along dutifully once it's a couple of blocks away.
Finding gas stations is easy, finding gas stations without security cameras, not so easy. You don't know how long you can drive on empty on this thing. Your going to have to pull in and get some gas somewhere.
«Auto-Judge[]» Dalton (#8435) rolls 1 for "Chance of finding a gas station without good cameras, 1-2, 3+ nope":
2
You do happen to spot a gas station down the road, its a bit run down, looks like its about to go out of business, but its open now.
"'Bout damn time I caught a break," the Dwarf says with a smirk, and maneuvers the car into the turn lane to get him over to the gas station. Once he's there, he waits for the Roadmaster to pull in, as well, before he chances getting out to re-fuel the car. Nothing like a semi-armored transport to possibly deter any would-be muggers.
It also works since the roadmaster is larger than the elite, it easily conceals it from the cameras. You manage to fuel up, and are quickly back on the road towards your destination.
Aeden drives out of the gas station, and heads towards his destination in a somewhat zig-zagged path… nothing too direct, but nothing that will take an excessive ammount of time, either… can't have the car reported stolen while he's still in it, after all. After perhaps 20 more minutes of driving, the Dwarf pull sinto a second gas station, this one closed down. He looks around for his contact.
A young kid, perhaps sixteen, walks over and leans down to look into the window. You can see a credstick in his hand, and he seems to be playing with it. He grins at you.
Aeden makes a face and depolarizes the window. Then he cracks it open, waiting for the kid to speak up before opening the door. And if that wasn't enough, the Roadmaster pulls up once the window is open, it's deisel-chugging engine clogging away.
The kid simply grins "Sweet ride dude, mind if I sit in it?"
"Sure thing," he says and pops the lock for the passenger door open. He nods to the other side of the car, indicating that the kid should walk to the other side.
The kid shakes his head, still grinning "Nah man, I wanna sit in the drivers seat. Tell you what, you hold this stick while I take a seat, sound fair?"
Aeden nods. "Can do," he says and opens the door wide… making sure to grab the stick before sliding out of the vehicle. He checks it as he walks back towards the Roadmaster, his RC deck swaying and bumping into his side as he does so.
The stick is certified, with 10k on it. As soon as you walk away, the kid slips into the Elite, closes the door, then heads off in it. Hitting the streets and driving away.
With a smirk, Aeden opens the door to his transport. Mini stairs swivel out from beneath it, allowing the dwarf to step up them and into the over-sized vehicle. It rumbles off into the evening, heading in the opposite direction of the stolen car.
