Creature Weaknesses

Allergy

Creatures suffer when exposed in some way to a specific substance or compound. Some common allergies are sunlight, silver, plastic, pollutants, and religious symbols

  • Nuisance: The creature is annoyed by the substance but takes no damage.
  • Mild: Causes discomfort and distracts the creature, adding +1 TN to all tests.
  • Moderate: The creature finds the substances painful and will retreat from it. If contact is prolonged, the creature will suffer an allergic reaction to it. All weapons made of the substance enjoy +2 Power against the creature.
  • Severe: The slightest touch of this substance causes an allergic reaction. Weapons made of the substance have +2 Power versus the creature, and no matter the damage inflicted, the creature suffers an additional Light Wound.

Dietary Requirements

The creature must have a certain substance in their diet every day, or else they will sicken and die.


Essence Loss

Creatures with HMHVV suffer from Essence Loss. They lose Essence at a rate of 1 per month, typically (although specific creatures may have variable rates of loss) and any creature that attains 0 Essence will die within hours or perhaps days. During this phase they are extremely dangerous and will do whatever they can to attain Essence.


Reduced Senses

One or more of the creature's senses operates at reduced efficiency. Typically, the sense operates at half the normal rating.


Vulnerability

Some creatures can be significantly harmed by some substances. Weapons made out of this substance operate at +1 Damage Level versus the creature (i.e. a silver dagger that normally does 2L will do 2M versus the creature.)

Creatures heal at normal rates from this damage, and non-damaging contact with the substance is a Nuisance Allergy to the creature. Regeneration still heals the wounds as per their rules.
