Having such gear on hand for all characters reduces the Target Number for Survival Tests in such situations that call for one. Camouflage Netting Camouflage netting helps disguise vehicles, encampments and other large objects or areas. People and objects underneath such set up netting receive a +4 TN modifier against Perception Tests and a +2 Signature Modifier against sensors. Such netting comes in 10 square meter diamonds, and setting up the netting requires five minutes per diamond used. Field Rations Complete meals in hermetically sealed bags, this food is an improvement over the ration bars contained in standard survival kits. Additionally, each ration contains an integral heating pack, insuring a hot meal. Having adequate field rations for all characters reduces the target number for Survival Tests. The cunning may fashion a 'bottle bomb' explosive from the field rations heating pack. To do so, one makes a Demolition (4) Test. The resulting explosive, which may be set off by impact or heat, has a Power equal to 3 plus the number of successes, with the maximum damage capping at 10. The Damage Level of the explosive is M, with a Power reduction of -1 per half meter. Self-Inflating Tent A single-person pup tent equipped with a gas charge for self-inflation. In addition, it contains its own integral climate control, good for 48 hours. A character may increase that duration by making a Survival (4) Test, with each success increasing the time by 12 hours. The maximum possible is 144 hours, or six days. A self-inflating tent counts as a full set of gear for Survival Tests, and the Climate Control modifier applies as long as it is available. GMs may use them to limit the amount of ammunition a player may carry. A Pistol Pouch holds 2 pistol or SMG clips. A Rifle Pouch holds 3 rifle clips, and a Shotgun Pouch holds 20 shotgun rounds. Each pouch takes up one harness slot. Combat Vest A combat vest is a custom-designed vest made for attaching equipment and pouches for ready access. GMs may use the vests to limit the amount of gear and ammunition the player has ready access to. Combat Vests contain 12 slots and may not be worn in conjunction with security or military grade armor. Equipment Pouch Weather-durable pouches that may be attached or detached to to combat vests or equipment harnesses. GMs may use the vests to limit the amount of gear the player has ready access to. A small pouch may hold roughly 5,000 cubic centimeters (305 cubic inches, about 100 ECU or 0.04 CF), while a large pouch may hold roughly 12,500 cubic centimeters (763 cubic inches, about 250 ECU or 0.1 CF). A small pouch takes up one slot, while a large pouch takes up two slots. Load-Bearing Harness A load-bearing harness consists of a large belt and suspenders worn over your field gear or clothing. The GM may use this item to limit the amount of goods and ammunition the player may have with them and ready. A load-bearing harness contains 8 slots and may not be worn in conjunction with security or military grade armor. Military Rucksack A backpack designed especially for soldiers and mercenaries, a GM may use this to control the amount of goods and ammunition the player has on hand. A small rucksack may hold approximately 15,000 cubic centimeters ( cubic inches or 0.2 CF), while the large rucksack may hold approximately 65,000 cubic centimeters ( cubic inches or 0.5 CF). Military rucksacks have a quick release mechanism that allow the character to drop it quickly; doing so requires only a Free Action, while without the mechanism it requires a Complex Action. A civilian model is available without the quick release mechanism and only costs half the listed amount.
