The Algonkian-Manitou Council (AMC) is the governing body of this arctic land, run almost exclusively by the Algonkian tribe. Three ruling chiefs, the Civil, War, and Ceremonial are the primary decision makers of this huge land. Besides the ruling Algonkian's, a growing population of Manitou elves have begun making their way to the already heavily elven land (elves making up 30 of the population) due in part to the current events in Tir Tairngire. With the Manitou elves forming their own council (the Manitou Council), and distancing themselves from the AMC, relationships between the two tribes are a bit tense.

In 2050, the AMC's genetically engineered crops abruptly died out, leading the chiefs to seek out Aztechnology's help to save the economy and stave off starvation of the masses. In exchange for this, Aztechnology now enjoys many exclusive rights in this sprawling, arctic land. Security is handled by a local organization, the Long Arms, which enjoys a lucrative info-sharing agreement with Aztechnology.

The AMC enjoys strong relations with Aztechnology, yet as most of the population is spread out in rural areas, there is not significant ties to other nations. The AMC has made no effort to remove Anglo presence from their lands. Most trade (legitimate and black market) takes place in Thunder Bay, on Lake Superior. Also of note is Lakehead University, a magical school that largely ignores hermetic beliefs in favor of focusing solely on shamanic ideals and teachings.
