Yucca brevifolia is growing at an alarming - and curiously thick - rate all along the border. Stands of Joshua Trees, a traditional denominator of where the Mojave begins, have sprouted in a dense, thick band that follows the entire border. Some 30 meters thick in places, it's a serious impediment to casual border-crossings.
