Where the light strikes flowers begin to bloom, spring and summer flowers from across the globe. The snow begins to recede, leaving a patch of Summertime as a defense against the encroaching Winter. The patch, perhaps forty meters across, draws in many residents who have lost power and heat, warming them and allowing them to survive the night.
