This helmet modification is similar to vision magnification for cybereyes (SR3 300) as it magnifies the visual image like an imaging scope (with Rating 3), including reduction of TN for ranged attacks (SR3 280, 282). Electronic magnification does prevent mages from using their magical abilities based on sight; they usually prefer optical magnification.
