| The channels to get signed up for the tournament run through the trix Shadowlands. Much akin to the setup of the unarmed tournament earlier this month, the rules are somewhat different and what little 'rules' that exist were explained within it. The contestants are signed up through the 'trix and no initial location is given for the first fight. Instead they are notified that they will be sent a GPS location within the Warrens, a time to be there, and an opponent.
Early on a Saturday morning, the respective communits of Croc and Gene go off. The text comes from the 'Conductor' and provies everything that was promised: A GPS location, a picture of the opponent, and a time to be there. Against the current time, it only gives the two 20 minutes to arrive there. If punched into a mapsoft or simple trix search, the GPS location is within a derelict building in the Warrens. The old K-Mart building, a relic from an era past, that is little more than a shell of it's former self that houses a community of squatters and worse.
«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Environmental Effects: A Player may utilize the enviroment's many shelves, rafters, walls, hobos, etc to gain an 'Advantage' bonus as described in the books. This requires a Complex Action and exists until the opponent spends a Complex Action to neutralize it (by gaining the advantage themselves or removing it). This does not stack, so the most you can ever have is the -1 TN as described in SR3. You can not both have the 'Advantage' at the same time, think 'Reach' for Environmental manipulation."
Croc arrives with three minutes to spare, rolling off of his bike. Into the k-mart he goes, dressed in his battle regalia. His eyes shine with the promise of blood: indeed, even his hair is slick with it already- who knows what he was doing before he got here.
Eithier way, he looms onto the scene, looking around. When he notices crowd gathering, he raises a single fist in salute.
Eugene 'The Duke' or 'Specs' on the matrix arrives, holding a GPS device in one hand and a pocket secretary in the other. "Croc?" He asks, sucking his teeth. He'd worked with the troll before, and there was nothing wimpy about him. In fact, Gene owed him a beer or fifty. He trudges in, stuffing the devices back into his pockets. He'd even been watching a few of the fights from home, on the trix, and made a small bit of money on the exchanges, but fighting Croc? This couldn't end well.
"Howdy." He greets the huge man, moving into a Muay-thai stance, one leg raised and both hands partially extended. "I'd shake your hand, buddy, but I think you'd try to crush it." he explains with a smirk. "Mind taking it a little easy on me? I've had a few too many brushes with death lately."
As the contestants arrive— there is a local broadcast channel that is opened up for betting. Right now it looks like Croc has the advantage, having 3:1 odds to win. At the very top of the channel is a marque that scrolls text saying the following: Criticalfault's Fixing services - For when you need just the right item to put the Fault right in your opponents Critical!
Given the iconic and audial nature of the dystopian future, a little icon also speaks it to those with ear buds (or speakers) in a multitude of languages.
"Joo are alive," Croc says with a tilt of the head towards Gene. "I am suprised. still, left you dat way." He slams one fist into his other. "Understood. I will only make you bleed a little. No ill feelings, gringo, but…" He raises his fists, pumping his arms, and blades shoot out from the sides of his hands. "EL COCODRILLO COMES FOR BLOOD!" He screams, trying to get the crowd into it!
And the crowd cheers! Rarr! Raar! A little kid says 'Gwoo cwoackadingo!'
Gene nods "Oh yeah, still kickin'. I'm only half 'gringo' anyway, so I only bleed half as much out, yeah?" He doesn't seem armed, either, but it's not like you can always tell what someone's carrying under those longcoats. "Let's do this, man, I'll buy you two kegs of beer after this and do kegstands, yeah?" The ork-sized human hops around a little, looking like an experienced boxer. He watches Croc's eyes, instead of his handblades
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Croc (#8805) rolls Initiative with a result of 18.
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Gene (#9142) rolls Initiative with a result of 19.
Croc merely roars in response, and the battle is joined!
«Plot» Gene says, "My first move will be a charging attack at Croc."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Gene (#9142) rolls Muay Thai + Combat Pool: 2 vs TN 4 for "WA CHAA (Charging attack)":
1 3 4 5 5 7 9 = 5 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Croc (#8805) rolls Cyber-Implant Combat (Hand Blades) + Combat Pool: 2 vs TN 3 (to AdamLOG and Gene) for "using reach to lower my tn, first roll. comp roll for off hand forthcoming.":

«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Croc (#8805) rolls Cyber-Implant Combat (Hand Blades) + Combat Pool: 2 - 4 vs TN 3 (to AdamLOG and Gene) for "using reach to lower my tn, first roll. comp roll for off hand forthcoming. kp 1/8":
1 2 2 3 3 4 = 3 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Gene (#9142) rolls Body vs TN 5 for "Hit at 11M, minus 6 impact armor. OOOOF. (Need 4 successes to take no damage)":
1 1 1 1 2 2 3 4 5 7 = 2 Successes
«Plot» Gene is satisfied with taking a Light wound and saving KP
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Gene (#9142) rolls Quickness vs TN 5 for "Not falling down.":
1 1 2 3 10 = 1 Success
«Plot» Gene says, "End result, I got counterattacked, took a Light wound, kept my footing."
Gene starts things off with the good old fashioned flying elbow, getting a bit of a running start and trying to drive his elbow into Croc's skull.
Croc wheels into the attack, expecting the frontal attack. He spins like a windmill, his hand blades slicing through the air around him in a fantastic visual pattern- and as he moves past gene, somehow spinning away from the elbow strike, one of his blades finds flesh- a very shallow cut along Gene's side. Not much trauma, but painful. Very painful- like a deep paper cut ten inches long. He laughs as he cuts, and starts moving into the shelves and debris, trying to draw the other fighter in after him as he jockeys for a better position.
«OOC» Croc will spend a complex action for superior position.
«Plot» Gene will grab something throw-able, and then put some distance between himself and Croc
Gene's pride is hurt a bit more than his body, especially since he'd actually expected that to work. Landing awkwardly on his feet, he watches the troll climb the shelves warily. Yeah, we're not doing that. He picks up something that looks like an old trideo set and carries it under his arm, jogging away so that if Croc wants to use those blades again he'll have to come get him.
«Plot» Gene says, "Will use my other simple action taking aim"
Croc pages: if i 'leap off' the shelves for a charge attack… i'll get the -1 tn for superior position, right? even if i sacrifice it afterwards? I'm just trying to think of some good cinematic moves to pull off. the other option is i charge him -with- a set of shelves. :)
«Plot» Gene has moved Quickness (5) times 3 /2 (I get two initiative passes) meters away from Croc. That is, 7.5m
You paged Croc with 'Yes. And the +1 Power for the charge.'.
Croc pages: excellent. :)
«OOC» Croc is waiting to be hit by a thrown object!
«OOC» Gene says, "no action? :o"
«OOC» Croc says, "oh! i thought you were throwing this turn. was waiting for that."
«Plot» Croc will leap from the shelves in a charging attack from above.
«OOC» Gene says, "nope, simple to pick up, simple to take aim. And then a little bit of dicking around running"
«OOC» Croc has 9 quickness, so should be able to cover the distance easily.
«OOC» Gene says, "ah, dammit. :("
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Croc (#8805) rolls Cyber-Implant Combat (Hand Blades) + Combat Pool: 8 vs TN 2 for "FINISHING MOVE! -1 superior position, -1 reach. base power 12l, complimetary roll upcoming.":

2 4 4 5 11 = 1 Success
«OOC» Croc says, "8 net successes for me. stages power up to 13 deadly."
«OOC» Gene says, "em. Doesn't change anything since my lowest Body roll was a 10 X3"
«OOC» Gene ded
«OOC» Croc says, "oh. sorry, i misread. 8 successes on your dodge, means my power was 14d. you got 6 successes on your body roll. you jsut take a light."
«OOC» Gene says, "oh, shit?"
«OOC» Gene is happy just to have survived, but a light wound? Fuck yes.
Croc is in position now, and he turns down towards Gene. He pumps a fist into the air, just once, shouting "WATCH OUT BELOW!"
And then he leaps. It's not a thing of beauty, it's not graceful- but it's vicious and sudden and fast, like a giant hunting cat pouncing on his pray, like a crocodile going to feast- now he's on gene, slicing at him, focusing on this small, tiny cuts… the painful ones, the ones that will create a spray and a show but not end the fight yet…
But enough of them will bring anyone down.
Goddammit. Gene is sort of managing to smack away some of the blows with his armored sleeves and forearm guards, but is mostly ending up losing, and his gambit with the throwing things isn't going to work now. So, he lashes out with a kick instead, the kind made to ward off, more than do damage, to keep Croc's long arms at bay.
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Gene (#9142) rolls Muay Thai + 2 (Style Bonus) vs TN 3 for "Falcon Keeek! (Kick attack)":
2 3 4 4 4 4 7 = 6 Successes
«Plot» Gene says, "Forgot to add wound mods. Make that 5 successes."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Croc (#8805) rolls Cyber-Implant Combat (Hand Blades) vs TN 3 for "eek! he's still standing!":
1 1 2 3 4 4 4 11 = 5 Successes
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Croc (#8805) rolls Cyber-Implant Combat (Hand Blades) - 5 vs TN 3 for "eek! he's still standing! kp 2/9":
4 5 5 = 3 Successes
«OOC» Croc says, "2 net successes for me, makes it a total of 11m."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Gene (#9142) rolls Body vs TN 5 for "Who could have predicted this outcome?! *slam*":
1 1 3 3 4 5 5 9 11 13 = 5 Successes
«Plot» Gene says, "Soak'd"
Croc wheels back from the kick, matching the man's reach with his own, slashing out as he spins… but these cuts clatter through the man's armor, not quite getting in through him yet… but Croc isn't bleeding yet. In fact, he's grinning, fresh blood splatters added to his feral shape.
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Croc (#8805) rolls Initiative with a result of 20.
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Gene (#9142) rolls Initiative with a result of 11.
«OOC» Croc says, "Kick attack, -1 tn to my reach. steel toed boots, titanium bones. power is going to be 14m (stun)."
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Croc (#8805) rolls Wildcat + Combat Pool: 4 vs TN 2 for "DROP!":
1 2 2 3 3 4 9 10 = 7 Successes
«OOC» Croc stands on 7.
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Croc (#8805) rolls Wildcat + Combat Pool: 4 - 3 vs TN 4 for "DROP! kp 3/9":
2 4 4 5 8 = 4 Successes
«OOC» Croc says, "so, standing on 7!"
Croc follows up his series of blade attacks with a quick, savage turn, lowering himself a little and shooting out one massive, steel-shanked leg in an attempt to send the breeder into a row of shelves.
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Gene (#9142) rolls Muay Thai + Combat Pool: 2 vs TN 4 for "Aughwhat (-1 Tn for countering a kick, +1 for wounds)":
1 3 3 3 4 10 11 = 3 Successes
«OOC» Croc says, "makes the power 14d (stun)"
«OOC» Gene says, "emm…I~ll kp:"
«OOC» Croc says, "go for it."
The kick catches Gene with his mouth open, forcibly shutting it again, and knocking the human backwards onto the asphalt, out like a light. A tooth seems to have also been knocked free as well, clattering to the floor next to the unconscious human in a small puddle of blood
Croc holds up a fist in triumph again, having felled his opponent. He stares down at the human, considering taking a trophy… but then he shrugs it off, and turns back to the crowd. "EL COCODRILLO STANDS VICTORIOUS!" He shouts. "ARE JOO NOT ENTERTAINED!"
And then, much the way he entered… he heads out, his blooy work done.
