| The channels to get signed up for the tournament run through the trix Shadowlands. Much akin to the setup of the unarmed tournament earlier this month, the rules are somewhat different and what little 'rules' that exist were explained within it. The contestants are signed up through the 'trix and no initial location is given for the first fight. Instead they are notified that they will be sent a GPS location within the Warrens, a time to be there, and an opponent.
Early on a Saturday morning, the respective communits of Calavera and Cole go off. The text comes from the 'Conductor' and provies everything that was promised: A GPS location, a picture of the opponent, and a time to be there. Against the current time, it only gives the two 20 minutes to arrive there. If punched into a mapsoft or simple trix search, the GPS location is within a derelict building in the Warrens. The old Wal-Mart building, a relic from an era past, that is little more than a shell of it's former self that houses a community of squatters and worse.
It's been a long time coming. She eyes herself in the mirror of what once had been the bathroom. Brushed and polished steel can hold a reflection for some time. She closes her left eye as she smears black paint through the eye socket, covering the recess with a black cake that highlights in contrast to the white base covers the rest of her features. Fingers draw crude, but evocative 'teeth' across her lips and cheeks. She washes her hands in a water of canteen, allowing the remains to splatter across the floor.
She picks up her armored jacket, sliding it on over her less-than-slender frame, feeling it cinch and snug around the shoulders. Enough room to move, not enough to snag. It's how she likes it. She tosses an eye to the homeless man watching her dress, but doesn't pay him any particular malice. She doesn't need to.
Cole eagerly awaits the phonecall, and frowns when he sees it's just a text. Looking at it, he thinks to himself 'Drek, GPS Coordinates!' and calls an aquatance of his whom has a terminal. Having his fixer contact send him an address, he quickly foots it through the warrens to get to his fight.
After a small time passes, Cole ends up at the building in question, barely on time. Strolling on in with a dancing stride, he takes a glance at the picture on his cellphone, then looks around the room for his opponent, idlely drawing his weapon of choice: A dikoted katana.
Calavera rolls her neck as she moves, methodically, to the center of the building now. Her face paint is perfect. On someone else (Juggloes, anyone?) the getup may seem comical, but the deadly determination with which the woman walks and the dignity she exudes as she moves, put any thought of chuckling to the side. Across her back are strapped two Atalatal Arms kinet-i-blades, wicked curved handles indicating a whirling fighting style.

Casually strolling to the center of the ring, Cole looks his opponent over while putting his cellphone into one of the many pockets on his urban camoflage. As he finishes, he grips the katana in both hands, but wields it more as kung fu artist would a dao, and less like a samurai would a katana.
"Shall we dance, lovely lady?" Cole asks, starting to bob his stance to the beat of music only he can hear.
Shaking her head slowly, Calavera reaches one hand back, unlimbering the one of the blades at her back. She rolls her neck, feeling the pulse quicken and the blood race. Combat is here. Dying time is upon them both. She looks over to the other man. "Hijo, esto no es un baile. Respeto lo que es, o va a sangrar." She intones, the sillibant spanish falling from her lips with grace.

As the contestants arrive— there is a local broadcast channel that is opened up for betting. Right now it looks like Calvera has the advantage, being given 2:1 odds over Cole. At the very top of the channel is a marque that scrolls text saying the following: Criticalfault's Fixing services - For when you need just the right item to put the Fault right in your opponents Critical!
Given the iconic and audial nature of the dystopian future, a little icon also speaks it to those with ear buds (or speakers) in a multitude of languages.
A slight grin forming on his face, Cole responds, "Lady, I got no idea what you just said, but that was HOT." putting extra emphasis on the final word. "Alright, lets do this!" he adds, moving forward to start the fight with his opponent.

Flipping the blade inelegantly in her hand, Calavera's form betrays a rough, brutal fighting style that is not very refined. Her off hand draws a boot knife, a 10 inch blade for her off hand. It's matte black and is held in a reverse, knife-fighters grip. She eyes Cole for a long moment as she steps forward…

Cole ends up with M Stun and +3 'dazed' from the flash. Blind Fighting Maneuver (if used) can reduce that to +1. This puts him at +3 or +5. Game on for poses, results, and other such shenanigans.
Never let them see you sweat. As she triggers the superflash with a mental command, she knows something is wrong. Heat build up in the cornial cavity is beyond stresstest norms, the biomonitor screams across her image link a moment before it goes dark, like a television turning off.
Never admit weakness. She shifts to Ultrasound, the world resolving around her with a fuzzy lack of clarity but still enough to operate by. Without her image link, targeting notations are offline, so she focuses. Cutting out the extraneous, the unnecessary data, she charges forth. This battle will be very short, if he can see her at all, but she will give no indication she's wounded; no indication she's damaged. No indication she's -weak-.
Weakness is for bitches.

It doesn't take long for Cole's question to be answered. She was just trying to get high ground and didn't count on the retreat. 'Gotta do something about to even these odds…' he thinks to himself as she goes slicing towards him with the monosword. Then it happens. She makes a swing that's just a little too wide, and it's all Cole needed. With a flick to the hilt, he makes her choose between her sword and her hand. Making the right choice, she drops the weapon at her feet.
"Was a nice try, but I think it's my turn." he says moving into a dancing pattern and going on the offensive.

"Like I said, hot stuff. And thanks for the kiss, babe!" Cole says, taking another swipe at her with his sword. The swing completely misses as she simply steps to the side.
Then the unthinkable happens.
BLAM!!
Cole crumples to the floor as his right leg is shot out from under him. "I think… I think you owe me for that one…" He says from the floor, starting to bleed out already. "That was some serious cheating…" he adds, letting go of his sword and putting a hand out to show he's done.
Moments later, everything goes dark as he passes out from either the pain or the blood loss.
She steps over to retreive her blade while holstering her gun. "THIS!" She says, picking up the sword… "IS A SWORD! YOU FIGHT WITH IT! IF YOU TAKE MY SWORD AWAY AND YOU ATTACK ME, IT IS NOT A SWORD -FIGHT- BUT ANOTHER KIND OF FIGHT." A pause as she slides the sword over her shoulder…
She picks up the sword that Cole was using it, hefting it. "A fight I -will- win."
With her trophy, she turns to fade in to the darkness.
As the opponent goes down, there is a waiting period to make sure that they are not getting back up. Two men appear on the scene with white jackets on and a red 'medical' pin on them. They go over the fallen with a Savior medkit and an astral survey of injuries. The betting channel closes and fund are transfered for those that won.
To the victor, simply another text: Congradulations. You proceed to the next round.
After some initial diagnostics they take out an expandable gurney and transfer Cole's limp body onto it. Hoisting the man up the trio head outside of the Wal-Mart building after calling in a certain MASH and advanced services for this case.
