The channels to get signed up for the tournament run through the trix Shadowlands. Much akin to the setup of the unarmed tournament earlier this month, the rules are somewhat different and what little 'rules' that exist were explained within it. The contestants are signed up through the 'trix and no initial location is given for the first fight. Instead they are notified that they will be sent a GPS location within the Warrens, a time to be there, and an opponent.

Early on a Saturday morning, the respective communits of Calavera and Cole go off. The text comes from the 'Conductor' and provies everything that was promised: A GPS location, a picture of the opponent, and a time to be there. Against the current time, it only gives the two 20 minutes to arrive there. If punched into a mapsoft or simple trix search, the GPS location is within a derelict building in the Warrens. The old K-Mart building, a relic from an era past, that is little more than a shell of it's former self that houses a community of squatters and worse.

A dingy yellow cab rolls up nearby, as a man clothed from head to toe in black vinyl gets out. Looking around, Repo finds a good vantage point to watch the events as they unfold.

Air arrives at the K-Mart building on foot, fully dressed up for a day out in the Warrens. Solid boots clomp loudly through the trash as the heavily armoured human heads into the fight location. Ignoring the local squatters he heads directly for the center of the building, expecting that to be the location of the fight, for whatever reason. Pulling up a baton from the webbing across his chest he raises it, holding it up in a ready position as he scans for the other fighter.
He also carries some sort of makeshift shield on his other arm. Polished up to an almost mirror finish, it looks most definately hurriedly jury-rigged.

Vollo pulls up to the location in his Eurovan and gets out, rucksack in his left hand. He locks the vehicle and heads into the building. He scratches at the furr on his neck and wonders if this is the right place. He checks his pocsec again and then stoops down, taking the pair of blades he has chosen in his hands. He slips them from their sheaths and eyes the keen edges. He then looks around for his opponent.

«Plot» AdamLOG says, "Environmental Effects: A Player may utilize the enviroment's many shelves, rafters, walls, hobos, etc to gain an 'Advantage' bonus as described in the books. This requires a Complex Action and exists until the opponent spends a Complex Action to neutralize it (by gaining the advantage themselves or removing it). This does not stack, so the most you can ever have is the -1 TN as described in SR3. You can not both have the 'Advantage' at the same time, think 'Reach' for Environmental manipulation."

Air reaches the center of the abandoned K-Mart and finding no opponent, waits. Among the discarded trash, discarded shelves and dsicarded people of the old Aurora sector.

Vollo stretches a little and then rests his blades on his shoulders in a very non-traditional manner. He eyes the man in the middle of the warehouse, recognizing him. "You make good grips…they have never failed me. I respect that." The Night One then steps forward through the crowd of people and enters the center of the fighting area. He paces back and forth, watching.

As the contestants arrive— there is a local broadcast channel that is opened up for betting. Right now it looks like Air has the advantage, being given 2:1 odds over Vollo. At the very top of the channel is a marque that scrolls text saying the following: Criticalfault's Fixing services - For when you need just the right item to put the Fault right in your opponents Critical!
Given the iconic and audial nature of the dystopian future, a little icon also speaks it to those with ear buds (or speakers) in a multitude of languages.

Air clears his throat, but says nothing. He reaches up and pulls the visor on his helmet down, the one way finish obscuring his features from casual view. Rolling his arms at the shoulders for one last time he hefts both the club and the shield as he leans forward.

Repo places a 20,000 =Y= bet on Air
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Air (#8050) rolls Initiative with a result of 24.
«Auto-Judge[TRUE]» Vollo (#6013) rolls Initiative with a result of 23.

Air raises his shield and presses a button on his chest. The flash-pak mounted in his webbing there activating, flashing strobes outward. The disorienting light aimed directly where he's facing, Vollo.

Vollo squints and then closes his eyes circling slightly and then listening for his opponents movement. He slides in, katana swinging in an unorthodox manner, the secondary blade following close behind. The blow 'feels' like it is on target, but it is difficult to tell with his eyes tight shut.

Air is obviously doing whatever it takes to win, as evidenced by the use of the flash-pak, still strobing away on his chest as he reacts to the night-one's attacks. The expert use of the twin swords almost making it impossible for him to counter attack. However, at the last moment he fluidly steps into the secondary blow, his right arm whirring as he brings the stun baton around in a brutally hard blow, the shock discharging with a loud crackle as it makes contact with his opponent, the servos and motors in his cyberarm whining loudly with the 'exertion'.

«Plot» Air will attack on 14.

The previous attack staggers Vollo and he tries to get his bearings. His head shaking as he deals with the force of the blow and the shocking trauma. He raises his blades up to counter, but is not exactly facing the correct direction. When the attack comes he is ill prepared to counter.

Air's arm almost ratchets back after the blow has connected and been absorbed. His body rotates, pivoting at the waist as he shifts his footing, swinging his entire upper body weight behind the next blow, sweeping in low across the ribs of his elven opponent. Again the attack is accompanied by the high machine whine of cyberware reaching it's upper stress limit, and again with the sharp electrical crack of the high powered discharge, rated for stunning trolls.

Vollo folds in half, wind taken from him completely. He crumples like a rag doll and is flung hard to the ground. His limbs jerk a few times spasmodically with the current of the electrical attack. Then he goes limp.

As the opponent goes down, there is a waiting period to make sure that they are not getting back up. Two men appear on the scene with white jackets on and a red 'medical' pin on them. They go over the fallen with a Savior medkit and an astral survey of injuries. The betting channel closes and fund are transfered for those that won.

To the victor, simply another text: Congradulations. You proceed to the next round.

Air relaxing as he stands up straight Air brings a hand up to his visor, lifting the one-way ballistic polymer out of the way. "Good fight," he compliments the downed Night One before turning to walk away.
